So I, you know, I had come to your defense after season six had aired and I felt like after three,

Yeah. I mean, season since I started, I

felt like it was very much like a pile on situation. Borderline. I hate using this word, but borderline bowling. But it was, but it was a pile on situation. And so I, I guess I'm shocked that you're. You're coming out of seven saying it's. It was positive. It was a positive experience for you.

Yeah, I loved it. I think there were some great changes that happened for this season. Welcome changes. And I think it switched die.

[Jeff Lewis]

I mean, I don't understand, like, I

think it was like my attitude toward things changed too. Like, I think I put up guardrails and put people in boxes. So I'm like, I know what I'm going to get from you. And I think with the. We had a total change in production in the field, which was so refreshing because, you know, we've had the same team for six years and, well, five years. So it was like nice to just. They mixed it up and I loved it.

You applied the baby gorgeous filter?

[Lisa Barlow]

Yes.

To your mind?

[Lisa Barlow]

Yes, my mind. I put myself in a bubble and stayed there.

I was gonna say to you because I haven't seen you in a minute. I feel like. When was the last time we saw her? Was it BravoCon?

BravoCon. Yeah, I think so.

And you and Meredith came in and, you know, the one thing I would say to you is that I had noticed over the last few seasons you and I'm. I'm sure it's different now, it sounds like, but you have this need to explain yourself and prove otherwise and it's just so defeating and it, for me, it's like it really is just a waste of energy.

You told me that and I. And I pivoted.

[Jeff Lewis]

Good.

Yeah, it was a hard. Right.

They're going to think what they're going to think. And my feeling is, you know, and when they come for your businesses and all that, I just feel like, you know what? Just keep your head down. Keep focusing on your businesses. Sell one for 40 million and fuck them all.

Like, success is the best revenge. But I feel like, you know, they question you.

Last year was awful.

When she first came on the show, my first, like, interaction with her on Housewives, she was talking pretty negatively about Todd and saying, I don't know if I'd pick him today. And I was defending them and, like, really, you know, giving her every reason why they should work and saying positive things about them. But I think, you know, it's really none of my business. I don't really care about them at all. I mean, but am I surprised? I don't know. I don't think about him enough to be surprised or not surprised.

When he ate the. The cherry offer Sunday, I was like, this is a man who doesn't care about her wants or needs.

[Lisa Barlow]

I think that they. I've seen them banter pretty hard, and, like, I think she goes really hard. I think she has so many different Personas, and I think there's. That was a Persona, and then there's her, like, batty Persona. And I think I've seen her be like that with Todd. So I think it's just the way they communicated. And she loved that she got empathy for that.

But she bounced back with that hot model.

He's cute. I mean, I didn't know how cute he was until he was in Khloe Kardashian's perfume commercial.

You know, and last year, too, like, I feel like. Like, I have a very strong marriage, and I love John so much, and I know John loves me. But even watching, like, our one lunch back, I mean, you could read into that and be like, they're doomed. Where? And, like, for me, it felt like no big deal when we filmed it. And then when I watched it back, I was like, john Barlow, I'm crying for three weeks because it feels like you don't love me when we're sitting at that lunch. So I think you could judge anybody's relationship off of, like, a blip and think, like, oh, they're doomed. But you. You're never behind closed doors, and you don't really know what's going on. Cause sometimes people look really happy, and they're not.

Yeah, they're miserable. I'm a little worried, and I like them, but I'm a little worried about Justin and Whitney just from watching the show. I don't know them personally.

On social media, they look super happy.

[Jeff Lewis]

Right. But on the show, there seems to be some cracks. I think Meredith and Seth are in it for the long. The long haul for sure. And it helps that you're. It helps that your husband is still, like, tall, handsome. You know what I mean? Like, if he let himself go, I'd be like, Lisa, I don't know if it's worth it, but at least he's still hot. You know what I mean?

And he makes money, and he makes money, and he makes money. He's with me right now.

John is all about him coming in whenever he wants to because he lived in Columbia for two years and he thinks, you know, he's an adult now. And I'm just like, no, under our rules. But I would text all of his friends for, like, the first two weeks he was home saying, is Jack with you? Is he okay? Like, are you guys okay? And they're like, we're like adults.

So do you think you ultimately would support him getting his own place?

I love him. With Henry, I need my beauty sleep, but I need him to be Henry's big brother right now. They're so close. There's seven years between them, and they are, like, getting along so amazingly well. And I love watching their interactions. Baby gorgeous. Like the original baby gorgeous, Henry Barlow is now almost six feet tall with a full head of hair and a 12 pack. You're gonna be shocked when you see him.

He's in school. He's at the U. University of Utah.

So what year is he. Is he a sophomore? Freshman?

Well, he graduated from high school with almost his associate's degree because he, like, did all the extra stuff.

And then you can. The University of Utah lets you test out of so many classes. Like, he's fluent in Spanish, so he could test out a Spanish. You just buy the credits, basically. So he has almost a year of buying him out of credits that he can test out of, and he's doing that this summer, so he's probably, like a junior.

I think we have a little different path with my daughter. I don't think there's gonna be.

I just don't think there's gonna be. No. She's going to school, but I'm. I don't think we're gonna have any extra credit. I don't think we're gonna be able to test out of anything.

Like, you should for sure have one. And then she was telling me, like, the sprinkle cookies she likes, and I'm like, well, you're really Italian, so you should have real Italian ones. And so I introduced her to the best baker upstate New York that makes the most insane, like, sprinkle cookies. And I'm like, you have to come up with your own recipe. But, like, I just made the introduction. She turned it into, like, a mega business.

Well, when Andy Cohen said she's not coming back, I kind of stopped thinking about it.

But you know Jen, one thing Jen has is charisma. And you can't take that away from her. She's like charismatic. And Chicago got a big, big personality.

Yeah. And fun. She's fun, she's charismatic, she can be

a lot of fun. But she can also be as equally as fun. She was equally as toxic.

Do you think that she would just annihilate that Britney?

No, Britney would have no chance.

I would really love to see that. I mean, I feel like she'd just run her out of town.

Everything is cyclical. She probably will be back. They just have to wait long enough. Did she learn anything crazy in prison? Any great networking? Is she friends with Elizabeth Holmes?

You know, I haven't talked to her. I think she did. She did an interview with people or. Yeah, with people. And I think, I think she's good with Elizabeth Holmes and I think she huge networking.

Are they going in together on a business?

[Lisa Barlow]

That'd be terrifying.

I mean, what are we thinking?

So invest in that business together. Yeah.

Do you. Were you friends with her previously?

[Lisa Barlow]

Um, Jen I met through, like, the whole rho s l C process, but I did think I talked to Jen all the time on the phone. She would call me late nights. I love getting my massages. So, like, if I'm home, it's every Sunday and Wednesday. She would call me, talk through my whole massage. She would be on speakerphone and, like, my massage therapist, Heidi, would engage with her and, like, think she was so funny too. But, like, Jen was one way on the phone and a totally different way. She showed up when we were, like, all together as a group. So it'd be. I would always be shocked because I'd think we were, like, best friends and, like, having the best time. And then she'd show up, and I'm like, oh, my gosh. You're like a 180 from who I talked to on the phone.

So then you won't be. You don't see yourself talking to her in the future?

[Lisa Barlow]

If I bumped into her, I'd be so nice to her.

Is anyone else from the cast friends with her or talk to her regularly?

[Lisa Barlow]

Meredith.

I don't think it's regularly, but Meredith does talk to her.

Now, one of your many businesses, it's like event planning, right?

[Lisa Barlow]

Lux Marketing.

Yes.

It does a lot of things. So we do experiential activation, so events, and it's primarily been in entertainment for a very long time. And then we incubate brands, too.

[Jeff Lewis]

Wasn't most of the business, though, centered around Sundance? Because I think, I believe at one point you referred to yourself as the queen of Sundance. I would assume then that Lux Marketing was doing a lot of events.

[Lisa Barlow]

A lot of events.

[Jeff Lewis]

How do you feel now that Sundance is moving to Boulder, Colorado? Will you still be working on. Okay, so you'll still be involved?

[Lisa Barlow]

Yeah, so we'll still be involved. I love what Sundance has done for indie filmmakers. I think, even though I hate that it moved to Boulder, I hate it. I get it. It was a business decision.

[Jeff Lewis]

I want to know why, after 45 years, 45 years in Utah, why would they now move to Colorado?

[Lisa Barlow]

I have no idea. But Park City, I think it's such a staple in Park City. I think it needs to come back. Hopefully it's like a one year and done. I don't know what the contract's like, but hopefully as soon as it's over, it comes back. It just won't be the same. I think it'll be great. It just won't be the same.

[Heather Gay]

What's your favorite business?

[Lisa Barlow]

I love them all and they all work together.

Yeah, but which one is.

I selfishly love Vida.

[Lisa Barlow]

Yeah. I love Vita.

I drink a lot of Vida. And John just gave me two more bottles at the green room.

We love that, you know, Vida's prob. My baby. I. We incubated it together. That's something. Our very first business John and I did together was Vita Tequila. And I love it so much because it's something we created together. We love, like it's. I mean, we were. There weren't a lot of alcohol brand. There weren't a lot of tequila brands. Alcohol brands and tequila brands in the U.S. when we launched in 2003, there was less than 300 brands in the United States and a lot of them you've never heard of. So, you know, now you look at it, there's so many brands, but we have street cred. We still have the same beautiful process. We still go to full maturation on all of our agave plants, which is a big deal. It's like eating a ripe strawberry versus like one that's not ripe. When you look at maturation, are you

the only tequila brand out of Utah?

Out of Utah? Yeah, I would assume. Yeah.

But watching John just like get more and more fit and look hotter and hotter, I'm like, maybe I should start. So I try just this week and last Week. It's The B something.

So I worked with Jake Peterson and this other guy named Jed who works regularly on music with Post Malone and Brandon Flowers from the Killers. And you know Jake plays guitar with Benson Boone and Vince Gill. So I worked with serious musicians and serious producers. I didn't wanna like if I, I was like if I do this, it has to be done right. So I did it the right way.

What is your songwriting process? When do you feel inspired? Do you keep notes on your phone?

[Lisa Barlow]

I do keep notes on my phone and we have a group chat that I'm in with Jet and Jake and so I'll say something that I'm like, oh my gosh, that would be so great in a song like the Lyrics for Baby Gorgeous, I feel like started as a pep talk where I was just saying, you know, giving Jake a pep talk and saying, this is like, like what makes me feel baby gorgeous. This is how everybody should feel. This is like you should wake up and feel like your energy is magic. If you feel it, it can happen. And I'm like, we just started writing it.

It's so inspiring. I want to be baby Gorgeous.
