They said that I am by far the most difficult talent that they're working with. You know, we could say we don't judge. I judge and I was judging. Money doesn't make you an asshole.
Mercedes Javid
But if you're an asshole and with
Jeff Lewis
a ton of money, you're gonna be a bigger asshole. Why are you looking at me? No, I didn't. I didn't mean to.
Caller Kim
I didn't mean to look in that direction.
Reza Farahan
Why?
Jeff Lewis
You're right at me.
Caller Commentator
Jeff Lewis has issues.
Jeff Lewis
Hey, welcome to Jeff Lewis has Issues. In today's episode, Mercedes Javit and Reza Farahan join the show. We talk about Reza's book launch work, travel and office shakeup.
Mercedes Javid
Wow.
Jeff Lewis
Good morning.
Mercedes Javid
All over.
Reza Farahan
Good morning.
Jeff Lewis
I just love to see you two back together again.
Mercedes Javid
That too.
Jeff Lewis
I love it.
Reza Farahan
And can we talk about how hot Mercedes looks?
Mercedes Javid
I mean, let's talk about it.
Reza Farahan
Yeah.
Mercedes Javid
No.
Jeff Lewis
Did you do your own makeup today? It looks good.
Mercedes Javid
I did. He did.
Jeff Lewis
Did you say the same thing?
Mercedes Javid
Yeah.
Jeff Lewis
Are you serious? I looked at her makeup. I go, oh, I wonder if she had it done.
Reza Farahan
100% trying to learn.
Jeff Lewis
Wow, it looks real. Are you doing YouTube tutorials?
Mercedes Javid
So I was gonna. I was also saying I want to do more content. I want to, like, close my escrows and just become like a content creator.
Jeff Lewis
You did a great job on your makeup today.
Reza Farahan
She looks. She's in her, like, hot, hot girl era.
Mercedes Javid
I'm a mess lately, but no. Thank you, though.
Jeff Lewis
I know it's been a minute. You and I talked this morning, and I called her and I said, hey, I want to say to you, I want to schedule a dinner one on one with us. I miss us. And now that I'm. You guys know this. When you're done with filming, first of all, you lose touch with all your friends when you're filming. And then when you're done, it's like you kind of want to start to reconnect. So I called Mercedes today. I meant to call you Reza, and I said, let's schedule a dinner.
Mercedes Javid
Yeah. And Liotte has been wanting to too, but tomorrow night is gonna be such a great reunion. Cause we're all gonna hang out.
Jeff Lewis
All right, so tomorrow your new book is released. Correct. Tomorrow is the reunion.
Reza Farahan
Memoirs of a geisha comes out. Yes.
Jeff Lewis
All right, so we have tickets to the book signing.
Reza Farahan
It's sold out.
Jeff Lewis
Oh, you sold out?
Reza Farahan
We sold out.
Jeff Lewis
Oh, congrats.
Caller Shane
Congratulations.
Reza Farahan
Yeah, I bought two tickets to just have, like, in my pocket just in case. And I gave them to judge Lauren Lake, who's gonna come? Cause it is sold out.
Jeff Lewis
Okay, can you add her to. Yeah, have her come to Cheesecake.
Mercedes Javid
So what's the plan exactly? Can we talk about what the logistics are for tomorrow?
Jeff Lewis
We're going to Cheesecake. At what time?
Caller Shane
5:30?
Jeff Lewis
5:30. Book signings at 7. Crystal's moderating.
Reza Farahan
Yes.
Jeff Lewis
God, I can't believe you sold out. That was a hard sell.
Reza Farahan
It was. It was. And I was scared because Maris told me she had gone there for another book launch.
Jeff Lewis
Yes.
Reza Farahan
I'm not gonna mention the name of the person. Cause they're also from Bravo. Oh, they're also from Bravo. And it was sparsely. Like, it was not sold out. And I was having a nightmare that you guys would come to support.
Jeff Lewis
Was it Dorit unburdened?
Mercedes Javid
It was. It was. She was crickets. Nobody came for her.
Jeff Lewis
Oh, my God. Who was it?
Mercedes Javid
It was Dorit.
Reza Farahan
No, it was not Dorit.
Mercedes Javid
The signing was cricket.
Reza Farahan
No, it wasn't Dorit. It was not to read.
Jeff Lewis
She's got to finish that book because she spent the advance on that Kelly bag.
Reza Farahan
Yeah, she should.
Caller Shane
I just watched that last night and I was like, what is she saying? So she was like, I need to shoot the COVID so I can put out the COVID so I can write the book. I was like, what are you talking about? You think you're going, like, 10 steps backwards?
Reza Farahan
I'm sorry. I'm team Dorit. I'm team Dorit.
Jeff Lewis
Oh, okay.
Reza Farahan
The situation. Am I the only one?
Jeff Lewis
Yeah.
Caller Kim
Yeah.
Reza Farahan
Why.
Caller Shane
Why would you be posting the COVID before you write the. Before you have someone else write the book for you?
Reza Farahan
Well, it's to get hype and excitement for the book. I didn't do that. My book was written a long time ago. My show got canceled, so they didn't want to put it out.
Jeff Lewis
Yes, but I mean, you have. Your book is interesting. It has content, it has substance. I mean, I mean, obviously you're leading with that. The COVID is. You know, that's secondary. It doesn't even matter.
Reza Farahan
The COVID Not only that, but I used an old photo from childhood for my cover.
Mercedes Javid
That's also not why we're team Dorit. Because we're not team Dorit because of the way that Dorit acts. People got mad at me on my pod because I was team Kyle, because I said, I think that Dorit throwing PK under the bus week after week and calling him an alleged full blown alcoholic and now saying he doesn't want to be involved. I thought that was going to be bad for her. And Kyle was saying, that's going to be bad for you. And then everyone got upset that.
Jeff Lewis
I think she's just completely self involved. She refuses to hear anyone else's opinion or narrative. She shuts people down. She. I know. She distracts. She walks away like she has no interest in hearing your opinion.
Mercedes Javid
The lacing, the keeping everybody waiting on a tarmac.
Caller Shane
Erica's going to trial.
Reza Farahan
Like, what about everyone ganging up on her, though? And the. The thing that's driving me nuts.
Jeff Lewis
It's a long time coming. All.
Reza Farahan
We all feel this way. We know that everyone is saying it.
Jeff Lewis
Most people do feel.
Reza Farahan
Everyone is saying it.
Jeff Lewis
Most people do feel that way.
Mercedes Javid
Well, the montage that they put on every single person that Kyle had a scene with, telling them one by one, she's so late, she's out of it. I'm worried about her. Look at her spending.
Reza Farahan
She's unraveling. She's unhinged.
Mercedes Javid
I don't think the money she spent her any favors when.
Jeff Lewis
I mean, come on, Reza. She's shopping and she hasn't made her house payment. I mean, that's kind of nuts. I mean, doesn't seem rational, right?
Reza Farahan
But if you're my friend, you're not talking to everyone. I might be. It might be my therapy, retail therapy. It might be helping me going through a divorce right now.
Jeff Lewis
Well, if I'm your friend, I'm gonna tell you to stop shopping because you need to make your house.
Reza Farahan
Tell me to stop shopping.
Jeff Lewis
Well, I will. And if you don't listen, if you don't listen, I'm gonna say to the other chumps, Rez is not listening. He's going crazy.
Mercedes Javid
Well, the person that does not, that takes her side, no matter what, is Bose.
Jeff Lewis
And, oh, Rachel, Zo.
Mercedes Javid
Thank you. Yeah, those two are always like, yes, Whatever she says.
Jeff Lewis
Whatever she says. But I'm surprised that she didn't react. Rachel didn't react when Dorit made it all about her and what she's going through and that she's late. And I'm looking down the table, and I'm thinking, Erica's going through lawsuits, Rachel's going through a divorce. All these people. I mean, Sutton's going through things. Everybody's going through things. But see how her problems are paramount to everyone else's? She has zero respect for everyone else. Zero. She's only concerned about herself.
Reza Farahan
Yeah, she actually allowed to be upset. She gets 300 grand a month.
Mercedes Javid
No, Sutton also said when to me, when we were at that Threads dinner, that she was like, I didn't get any sympathy from Dorit about her separation, her divorce. Like, they wouldn't acknowledge it.
Jeff Lewis
Back to your book.
Reza Farahan
Yes.
Jeff Lewis
I'm very excited for the release tomorrow.
Reza Farahan
Thank you.
Jeff Lewis
Now, I know that tickets for the Barnes and Noble was $34, but how much is the book? If people just want to go on
Reza Farahan
Amazon and buy it, it's like, 27.99.
Jeff Lewis
Okay. All right. So Annie read the whole thing?
Reza Farahan
Yeah.
Jeff Lewis
And she sent me notes a few weeks ago, so I went through all of it. I mean, it's juicy. You do not hold back.
Reza Farahan
I did not.
Jeff Lewis
I mean, at all.
Reza Farahan
No.
Caller Shane
Is there anything that you're, like, nervous that will come out? Are there conversations you're going to be having a half next week?
Reza Farahan
There's a lot of stuff that's coming out that I'm nervous and I didn't realize how honest and raw because I wrote it literally several years ago. We tweaked the final chapter, the last page, to include the Valley Persian style. But the book essentially was done in 2022.
Mercedes Javid
Speaking of big event.
Jeff Lewis
I know it's going to be. You're expecting a lot of people tomorrow.
Reza Farahan
Yeah, a lot of people. My mom, brother in law.
Jeff Lewis
Oh, really?
Reza Farahan
Nephew. Are supposed to come.
Mercedes Javid
Should I bring my mom? She's gonna want to come. Seriously? My mom?
Reza Farahan
Well, yeah.
Jeff Lewis
I don't know if he has any extra tickets, but I'm sure we could find a. She can have my seat.
Reza Farahan
I can call and see.
Jeff Lewis
No, no, I'll stay at the Cheesecake Factory bar. So how many of us? Because we bought 10.
Caller Shane
We bought 10 tickets.
Jeff Lewis
Wait, do we get the books though?
Caller Shane
Yes, they all come with books.
Jeff Lewis
Okay, good.
Caller Shane
And they're signed.
Jeff Lewis
So who's going?
Caller Shane
Jeff, Shane, Ken, Doug, Crystal, I guess wouldn't need a ticket. Jameson, MJ Liott, Ben, Mandel, Kerr.
Jeff Lewis
Okay, so we still have two tickets, right? Yeah, so we need to give those two tickets to Chumps and then I'll
Caller Shane
text all these people to confirm. But yeah, okay. I'm sure Ryan would want to come.
Jeff Lewis
Yeah. Do you want to just text him right now, see if he wants to come? All right. And then we have one other ticket to give away. All right, we'll figure it out. Don't worry.
Reza Farahan
Amazing.
Jeff Lewis
I'm excited.
Reza Farahan
I'm so excited. I'm nervous.
Jeff Lewis
Now Crystal's not gonna put us to sleep, right?
Reza Farahan
No.
Mercedes Javid
Oh my God.
Reza Farahan
Crystal is definitely not going to put us to sleep. She has a robust list of very intriguing questions to ask me.
Jeff Lewis
I have to say, Crystal, she posted something this weekend with her dancing with her daughter. I was like, damn, she's hot.
Reza Farahan
Yes.
Jeff Lewis
Yeah, Crystal's hot.
Reza Farahan
Yeah, she is.
Mercedes Javid
And very tall.
Jeff Lewis
Very tall.
Mercedes Javid
Very impressive. I'm a shoddy. So am I allowed to ask about last week? Because last week in every episode that I listened to Amanda Hirsch, Todrick hall, the comedian, Whitney, Whitney Cummings, and all this stuff was going on about Annie. And then I asked Kian last night during the pre show interview that he does tell us about anything interesting that you did this weekend. I said. He goes, what would you like for breakfast? And I said, why are you asking me what I want for breakfast and not Annie? And then he left me on read.
Jeff Lewis
Oh, you didn't respond, Keyan. Oh, you did respond.
Mercedes Javid
I think he responded with thank you. Got it. Can't wait.
Jeff Lewis
Are you following all this, Reza?
Reza Farahan
Yes.
Jeff Lewis
Okay. She is working from home this week. So I. About two years ago, I had fired someone who worked for me, an employee, and I very much mishandled it. I was very angry and I was upset, really disappointed in the employee and I should have taken a few days before I had the conversation and I didn't. And it turned into something very dramatic and I very much regret it. So I told myself moving forward that I do not want to handle any sort of employee write ups or, you know, rep when I'm reprimanding people. I want to make sure that I handle it correctly and professionally. So all when all this stuff came to light, I had walked in on Friday, Friday, and I very calmly, very calmly just told her, obviously, I want you to go ahead and take down the cameras. Go back to the. And I literally was talking like that. Go back to the hotel. And these. This is what I expect of you, and this is what I want done by today, and this is what I want done by the weekend. There was no discussion, really. I just gave her a directive. Then my attorney called her, had a long conversation with her, wrote her up, and then Shane, I asked Shane, I said, look, I think you should just tell her to work from home this week while I really kind of sit with this. And I want to make sure that I don't make a rash decision. I want to make sure that I don't make an emotional decision because bottom line, I really do like Annie a lot, and I have had a lot of fun with her. So I want to handle this in the best way that I know how. If you asked me today, I would say that I would tell you she's fired. But I'm giving myself until the end of the week. And I really want to make sure that I'm not in a place. In an emotional place because I'm extremely disappointed and I'm very upset with her. But I don't want to make any sort of rash decisions. So I thought it would be best because I also don't want to have any altercations. I don't want to talk about this right now. I'm not in a place to talk about it. So I feel like I'm going to wait till Friday and then we will see how to proceed. I'll figure out how to proceed.
Mercedes Javid
Okay. As a fan of the show, can I ask you a couple of questions?
Jeff Lewis
You can ask me whatever you want.
Mercedes Javid
Okay. So when Kian worked for you the last time that he worked for you?
Jeff Lewis
Yes.
Mercedes Javid
He would make reels, and every single episode when I would open up Instagram, there would be a great sound bite that would then make me tune in and watch the show if I didn't listen live. Okay.
Jeff Lewis
Yes.
Mercedes Javid
And when he left, those kinds of reels left. And then when he came back, they didn't come back. And I asked him, why aren't you guys doing that anymore? You know how some people were upset that Sirius took cameras away, which, for that I understood it was like a liability or budget. But this time that this has all come up, I'm curious about what, like, What's. What happened to that?
Jeff Lewis
Well, we have, obviously when you hire a different social media person, there's. They have a different style. Right. I do like Annie's style. I think her reels are good. But you brought up a really good point that it's funny that I was thinking about over the weekend, do I want, rather than do I take the money that I've been paying her and do I put that towards video videoing the show again? And I thought about maybe having a conversation with Jim Thompson to see if that's even an option. Can I spend the money that I would otherwise spend on her salary and put it towards video? Because that's what people really want. They want the video of this show. Not a real. So that is something that I have considered. I will tell you that it's more than just the infraction itself. So obviously I deal with a lot of different employees and people make mistakes and, you know, they're written up or they're reprimanded. I think it's very telling on how someone reacts to the infraction, how they respond or how they react. And I think that's very telling. And I will tell you, she didn't do herself any favors. After my attorney spoke to her, she said, she goes, it looks like you did. You know, you posted 11 times on your own Instagram, but you haven't done any posts for Jeff, which is what you were paid to do. Now, people need to understand I spent a lot of money taking her to New York. Right. So I'm investing in her. And I don't believe I got any sort of return on my investment. And this is the second time it's happened. This is the second write up for the exact same thing. So that's upsetting. But even then, you and I, Reza talked about a little about accountability this morning. When somebody comes to you, there's no such thing as I'm sorry, but. And so when someone makes excuses, exaggerates, lies to cover their own ass, that's a problem. When someone is not truly apologetic, when they're not accountable, that's a problem. Because for me, as an employer, I think you haven't learned and you're going to do it again, you know, so unless you say I fucked up, I thought of this as a vacation and I didn't do my job and I'm extremely sorry. Whatever. That's not what happened, according to my attorney. So my attorney kind of relayed all the responses. Lot of blaming other people and some flat out exaggerations. If not lies. So that's upsetting. I also think when she had said that she was going to take down her New York posts, which we didn't ask her to do, but she had volunteered to take down her New York posts, not only did she not take them down, she doubled down and did another post from New York saying that New York's not the vibe and she's upset and she was very much trying to solicit condolences, which I think backfired on her. And I thought that was a really bad move. And my attorney called me and she said, have you seen Annie's Instagram reel? And I said no. She goes, I mean, this is just self sabotage at this point. So she's not helping herself.
Mercedes Javid
That was my next question. Is that when you are, you make it really clear that you're like, your job to be around you guys is like a pinch me job because you're really generous with the perks and it's a really fun lifestyle. So we all see it, we watch it. We. That's why we tune in. It's to Arizona and New York and all of these fun other things that we all, you know, get to, like, live vicariously. But we know you're generous. We know you're in, in restaurants that they would never go to. And then when I was listening last week about the whole Michael Beck part and Todrick Hall, I was like, yeah. What was her reaction? Because usually, Jeff, if somebody apologizes to you, like, that's where you are. Like, okay, you reason with that. But that's why I was curious what the reaction was to, like forgetting the drink order and the little things and the big things.
Jeff Lewis
It's. I'm waiting for a text from my attorney any second. But the excuses were crazy. Like, I didn't. I wasn't able to work on the plane because Jeff insisted I watch Ladies of London. That's a flat out lie. I was on. I have my own iPad. I don't give a fuck what you watch. We don't have a Ladies of London cast member on the show this week. Otherwise that could become mandatory. So I say to Shane, I say to Kian, even Annie, hey, I've got Margot coming in from Ladies of London. We need. We need to watch the shows. That becomes a mandatory thing. That is. That was never said because I had my own. I had my own programs to watch. I don't give a fuck what you watch. That was why we didn't do the reel on Tuesday. We didn't do the real on when or Monday. We didn't do the reel on Tuesday because at the American Dream Mall I forced her to drink. That is also a lie. So I. When we sit down at a table or a bar, would anyone like a drink? You can order whatever you want. You can have one, you can have five. I don't give a fuck. I certainly am not, I'm not forcing anyone to drink. But she wasn't able to do the real because she was forced to drink. She was forced to drink on Tuesday. She was forced to watch Ladies of London. Then we started, there was a whole victim. Basically what happened is the hotels, you know, at a certain hour I don't feel safe not deadbolting and locking the hotel room doors. I just don't feel safe. I've got a nine year old, I've got, you know, a very attractive nanny who someone could follow back to, who knows. But when she disappeared on two nights without letting us know. And this is my hotel room, right? It's my hotel suite. I have a second bedroom she's sharing with the nanny. I just found out yesterday that she had someone to the room. Now it wasn't a hookup, but it was a friend, a male friend. I have a 9 year old daughter sharing that room. I didn't know, I had no idea someone was in that room. But that room adjoins to my suite and apparently this guy was there for an hour. I didn't, I knew nothing about it. This was empanada night. The night that we got hungry and we walked to empanadas. She had someone at the hotel room. I don't know if it was a pre party situation, I don't know. But I just found this out yesterday that was. This is a fucking work trip. Then she tells my attorney, I felt unsafe when they locked me out of the room. Well, if you felt unsafe in a five star hotel, then maybe you shouldn't be walking around the streets of New York at 1am in the morning. But I locked those doors to protect the people that were staying there. And so she texted Alyssa, listen, lock the door, unlock the door. Wasn't, it wasn't a big deal. We didn't lock you out all night. You didn't have to sleep in the hallway. All you had to do was text Alyssa when you got home so she could, so she could unlock the door and let you in. And we did that twice the two nights she disappeared. One night she was in a robe, she said good night. And then that was the night. Apparently she had a guest at the hotel. I did not know that. Then they went out. That was night number one. Night number two is we went to family dinner and I turned around and she was gone. Never said a word. Went out with Michael Beck. Never said a word. This is a problem.
Mercedes Javid
And then does that mean that Alyssa has to stay awake and make sure that she can unlock the door?
Jeff Lewis
I don't know. I didn't.
Mercedes Javid
I would not be. I would not be to be relied upon.
Reza Farahan
We have those same rules when we go on a Bravo trip. When we're on a cast trip, we have, we have rules.
Mercedes Javid
We're not going to sleep. You may not knock on my door, send me a text message because I cannot be relied on for that.
Reza Farahan
When we're in. Yeah, a cast trip for Bravo, they don't. We are to be. We have obligations.
Mercedes Javid
I was listening. And you had Andy Cohen or you were with Andy and he was talking about like, oh, let her go out. As long as she's getting her job done, let her go out and have fun in New York. That was that same day that he went to the, you were talking about the empanada place. But like, exactly like I would, if I were in her shoes, I would enjoy my job more and take it more seriously than any experience, especially with Michael Beck. As someone that you can hang out with in la, but when you're young,
Reza Farahan
sometimes you don't realize you're saying it's a pinch me situation. But sometimes when you're young and you're in the pinch me situation, you don't have perspective. You don't realize until it's too late.
Jeff Lewis
I, you know, and that's, you know, I've had a ton of comments, you know, let her go, don't let her go, give her another chance. And I've really thought about this. Am I doing her any favors? Because I've had pinch me situations that I have fucked up and I have learned and I mean, I still screw up. The difference is, is that my work ethic was never been in question. It was my mouth, right? My mouth and my attitude that has got me in trouble repeatedly. I have fucked up a lot of major opportunities all through my 20s, through my 30s, through my 40s, through my 50s. And you know, it's learning now. Some of us are a little hard headed like me. And it takes a long time to kind of learn. But I have learned. I have learned.
Reza Farahan
Right.
Jeff Lewis
Well, that wasn't. Yes, you're right, I fucked that up.
Caller Kian
I also think the challenging thing about your office in general is that the lines are very blurred. And I think what I'm hearing you say, correct me if I'm wrong, is we can have fun, we can do all these things. But I need to know, number one, you're doing your job first. That's what I'm hearing.
Mercedes Javid
I don't think that's blurred. Right. Because Jeff is serious. Like, he's really strong about, you get to have fun while you work, but you have to get your job done first.
Jeff Lewis
You know, Kian was talking about that. Kian, are you on Mike? It's okay. Where you were saying that, you know, it's hard for some people coming in because they don't really understand the priorities. The priority priorities are the. Are the job.
Reza Farahan
How can you not understand that, though? This is a work environment. You're not my. We're not here because I'm a friend.
Caller Shane
But when we're in New York, the show, like, we're done at 2, and then we go to the mall and then there's something else. And then. But then the. The separation is that Keyan and I then get back to the hotel at 10pm we open our laptops, and that's when we are starting our day. It's easy then to be like, okay, I've already had two drinks. I'm gonna go on and do this. It's 10 o'.
Jeff Lewis
Clock.
Caller Shane
Work is over, but it's not over till your shit's done. And that A hundred percent.
Reza Farahan
But there's a certain amount of autonomy. And if you're not good without structure, without a supervisor breathing down your neck and letting you know to submit your whatever.
Mercedes Javid
You guys talk about it all the time. That you are working late and that you're staying there and doing your job. The two of you guys talk about that on air. I'm not with you. I know.
Jeff Lewis
She also said, which infuriates me because this is a situation. I have mishandled a lot of situations with employees. This is one that I really finally feel I've done right. She said to my attorney, I don't think it's okay for a grown man to be attacking a woman. I'm sorry, what attack occurred? Because I calmly told you to go back to the hotel. And then I refused to speak to her. I said hello. That was it. I refused to have this conversation because I didn't think I could control myself with my anger or, you know, disappointment or whatever hurt. So I had Shane communicate with her, and then I had my attorney communicate with her. I've had zero communication this is the concern I have so far. I'm hearing I couldn't do the reel on the plane because of Ladies of London. I couldn't do the reels American Dream Mall because you forced me to drink. I felt unsafe in the hallway. Do you hear any accountability here? I felt attacked by a grown man. I'm not hearing any accountability at all here.
Mercedes Javid
I think the content that you and Kian used to do should be the stuff that I want to see. Like, because you were saying that you couldn't do BTS while you were doing principal photography. So I miss the content that you guys used to have.
Caller Kim
I think.
Caller Shane
I mean, she does. She does do good work, and I think we've been happy with the clips. That's not the problem. And she did. I mean, over the weekend, she did a lot of work. She sent a lot of clips and a lot of notes, but I was really sad to hear about all the excuses she had with Marlo.
Jeff Lewis
It feels very ungrateful to me. It feels very entitled. It feels very spoiled. I'm really bummed out. And I will tell you, I love to train and mentor these kids, but when they don't learn or grow from the experience, I get bored real fast.
Reza Farahan
But to play devil's advocate, Jeff, sometimes when you're young and someone is pointing out certain things, you go into this protective defense mode and you don't realize. You just want to mitigate. And you think by denying or deflecting, you're helping to bring the situation down, not realizing that there's no accountability and you're making the situation worse.
Jeff Lewis
The response is worse than the infraction.
Reza Farahan
Totally. And when you're young, you don't realize that trying to minimize it is making things worse.
Jeff Lewis
That video on Friday kind of was like, I don't know, like a last straw.
Mercedes Javid
I like. I very much like watching Annie as her own content creator. That's where I think she shines.
Jeff Lewis
She's great.
Mercedes Javid
I love Annie, and maybe that's what
Jeff Lewis
she should focus on.
Mercedes Javid
If I could only follow one person on Instagram, it could be Annie. And I think he's really entertaining on the show.
Caller Kian
You had an issue before. This was maybe last year, months ago. And it bothered you. You guys talked about it, and then you said, since then, there have been times where you've said, you know, I know Annie's doing her own thing. I at least know now I don't feel like it's being done behind my back.
Jeff Lewis
Yes.
Caller Kian
But now at least I know. And maybe it's just Sounding like a lot of confusion is what I'm hearing.
Jeff Lewis
Okay. So I said to her, my Instagram followers have plateaued. I said, we were growing, growing, growing. What happened? She said, when we stopped doing behind the scenes, we stopped growing. I said, well, we fit, because Bravo would not allow me to do behind the scenes. So I said, okay, we're done with the show. This is an important week coming up. I want to start behind the scenes again. I want to start getting engagement on the Instagram, because we all know that Instagram is a big source of income for us, right? Otherwise they wouldn't even be on Instagram. So then, you know, to find out that a I don't have one behind the scenes reel posted. I don't have New York. Oh, here was. This was another excuse too, that every day. And people were saying, oh, well, she doesn't know the rules, and you should have a handbook and you should set up boundaries. And she absolutely does know the rules. So what happens is we film today. I have a reel from today by the end of the day today, because she didn't work at all during the week, she was sending me archived reels. So now archived reels, we have about seven are for rainy days, right. If we're traveling, if she's sick, they're archived for a reason, because they're not our strongest reels. But we do have something in archived back up. She's saying, I did do the work because I sent you the archive reels. I said, well, you've already done the work. You've already done the archive reels, so that's not doing the work. So, look, I couldn't be any clearer about what is expected of her. And remember, she was written up for this exact same thing two trips ago, Exact same thing where I didn't get my, you know, I'm paying all this money to take her to New York. I get very little. And she gets 11 posts on her Instagram and builds her following. So my feeling is I think maybe that's what you should focus on. Right? This is clearly where your passion is. Maybe that's what you should focus on. And maybe I need somebody who's not so interested in being in the spotlight, who can help me work on building my social media. And, you know, again, Jameson, I didn't have a problem with the fact that she wants to be an influencer and that she wants to build her Instagram, just as long as it doesn't conflict with the job. But don't use my platforms and my money to build your own platform.
Caller Kian
It's sounding like possibly she felt her role in New York, in addition to capturing footage was maybe like to be fun and that was not what you were expecting.
Mercedes Javid
I think what you do is you shoot the content while you're there and then maybe a week later she can do it after she got her first thing done. But if she's doing that instead, then you gotta have some balls to do that.
Jeff Lewis

looks like every single line is full. I do want to promote two things. One, memoirs of a Gay Shah which is on sale tomorrow. Yes. I'm going to tell you like I don't, I don't read but I did read the Cliff Notes and it is a. I think it is a book worth buying. If you are a Shahs of Sunset fan or the Valley Persian style fan. I think you would really, really love this book.
Mercedes Javid
I love the book. I. I thought I knew everything about him and when I read this I was so impressed by his storytelling skills. I already know you're really great at telling a story but it teaches everyone so much more into not just your experience but so many people can relate to the experience of your life story.
Reza Farahan
Thank you. I love you.
Jeff Lewis
Also want to promote the 20% off spring sale fansocial Co. You can have dinner, you can have lunch, you can have drinks, you can have coffee. You can have a studio visit with your favorite chump. Just go to fansocial co 20% off now. I think it's for the month and then. But you can book it and still get the discount. Like you can book it as far ahead as, you know next year if you wanted to with 20% off.
Mercedes Javid
We did do them together.
Reza Farahan
We just did one together at Ciccone's. It was amazing.
Mercedes Javid
Spring break was very expensive. I would like to, like to.
Jeff Lewis
Let's take line five. Ken in Salt Lake City.
Caller Tess
Hello.
Jeff Lewis
Hi. Oh, why does it say Ken? That's weird. Are you Ken?
Caller Kim
It's Kim.
Jeff Lewis
Oh, Kim. Kim. Sorry.
Caller Kim
Hi. Shout out Shane.
Caller Shane
Shout out Ken.
Jeff Lewis
Sorry Ken. What's your comment?
Caller Kim
Totally fine. So I have a comment about Annie but I just have to say I'm so excited for tomorrow night. I bought tickets. I'm flying in to come see Reza.
Reza Farahan
Oh my God. Thank you.
Caller Kim
I had. I'm so excited. I had never seen Shah the Sunset. I know you and Mercedes from this show because I'm an avid listener and I just fell in love with both of you.
Caller Tess
Like thank you.
Caller Kim
I love your souls. It's good people. So I'm so excited. Yep. Flying out just for that. My comment About Annie is, Jeff, I feel like you take such good care of your employees and they have so many good benefits and perks, like Mercedes was saying. And we all love Annie. Annie's super talented. I think she's going to go super far in life. I don't think you'll be doing her any favors. Like, she's not going to grow. She's still young. She needs to know what consequences are because otherwise it's like, oh, it's fine, okay, doing the same thing and some other employers, she may get a great opportunity and she'll be shit tanned in a minute.
Jeff Lewis
I know, Kim, but again, there's the other side of me that really cares deeply for her. I enjoy working with her. We have a lot of fun together. When she's on, she's on. So that's kind of what. That's where I'm at. I'm really kind of undecided at the moment.
Caller Kim
I can see how you're torn because she. They are like your kids.
Jeff Lewis
Yeah. Yeah, I kind of feel that way, you know, So I appreciate your call. Steve in Chicago, I believe that's line six. Hi, Steve.
Caller Steve
Hey, Jeff. How you doing?
Jeff Lewis
Good.
Caller Tess
Hey.
Caller Steve
You know, I will say that I think that since Annie has been on the show, she's kind of evolved into her own person, which is good. But I think she's taken a lot of the opportunities that you've given her and kind of ran with that and expanded perhaps the initial Runway you've given her to be more than possibly it should be at this point. Now, I'm not saying that's bad or good. I'm saying she's taking those opportunities and she's making her own. But I think if we look at the track history, not only with Annie, but let's go back to Joey. There seems to be like this. This alcohol thing that happens when they're out with you and it's not you. I think it's just that they get so caught up in the environment and living a life with the chumps that are outside of the station, outside of the show that sometimes that line gets blurred. For them to go back to being professional after. After they've just had four or five hours of fun with people who aren't necessarily doing work for the show.
Jeff Lewis
Well, first of all, I do want to tell you, Steve, this has absolutely nothing with alcohol. Like, I don't. I don't believe any. I've never seen her overindulge. I've never. I don't think she takes advantage of that. In any way, shape or form, it is Joey reminiscent, but I feel like it's a little different. I think what's Joey reminiscent about it is that it's the same mistakes over and over and over again. That's the Joey reminiscent part about it. That we're acknowledging it, we're apologizing. But. There's a lot of buts and a lot of justifying and there's. I'm not seeing a lot of change.
Caller Steve
But I think that she is. I think she's a good part of the show. But I think like anything else, I think that. I think at the same time, you are an employer and you do have an expectation. And I think that if you feel that your brand ultimately is suffering or is going to suffer, I think that you have a responsibility to yourself and to your family to do what's best for you and I. And again, I hope that this second chance is the learning experience. But if it's not, I think that you, you know, as a grown individual and the things that you've gone through, what you have to do to help her further down the road for herself.
Jeff Lewis
Thank you, Steve. I appreciate your call.
Mercedes Javid
I think she's gonna do, like, really well. I agree with all the people that see her talent.
Jeff Lewis
Well, I disagree, and I'll tell you why. I mean, look, this is what I'm hoping for her, but we have a whole history of chumps who have had opportunities that screw up and they just disappeared. I hope that's not the case. Hope she's young enough where she learns her lessons. Maybe she'll learn a lesson with me. You know, this is an absolute. I have not made a decision, but I will say that the terms of our agreement will change if I elect to keep her. The terms will change. I think maybe I gave her too much too quickly. That is my fault. I think for now, I would keep her out of the studio and off radio, and I would limit her opportunities outside of her job for now because she has blurred the lines. But she may not like. Because I've kind of thought about what, okay, if she stays, how do I structure this? She may not like the new agreement. She may not like the new terms. I do think I try to think about my. My mistakes. And, you know, I've made a few recently. So I think I have, like, an HR appointment on Wednesday. I made a big mistake. It was my fault. I mishandled a situation. And I'm gonna go into that appointment and I'm gonna apologize, and there'll be no buts. There'll be no justifications. There'll be no. I mean, that's what I. I've learned. I don't. And hopefully everything will be okay.
Mercedes Javid
Oh, my God. When is this?
Jeff Lewis
I think it's Wednesday. But then, you know, with the Andy Cohen thing too, I fucked that up, right? I've got a whole history of fuck ups. I don't expect, you know, I'll be fortunate if I'm asked back to BravoCon. I don't expect to ever be hosting a panel again. But here's what I did. I was able to repair that damage with Andy because I went in truly, you know, apologetic and accountable and I didn't blame anyone else. And I think people receive that well.
Mercedes Javid
Can I ask you a question? Did you watch it?
Jeff Lewis
I never watched it. I didn't need to watch it.
Mercedes Javid
Okay.
Jeff Lewis
I didn't need to watch it. It would just probably have tortured me a little more about how I handled things. So I. I knew I fucked up and I apologize without excuses. And he, you know, and I believe he's assured that I won't do that again. I think when you start to make excuses or blame the other person is when people think that you haven't learned your lesson. I have learned my lesson. So.
Mercedes Javid
It felt like it came out of nowhere. It didn't seem like you were intentional. Seemed like you were actually more just putting on.
Jeff Lewis
I was unprofessional. I was unprofessional.
Mercedes Javid
Didn't seem like it was rooted in resentment. Like, you know, it started off good and then it just went left.
Reza Farahan
I had a situation when we were filming the Valley Persian style. Tenning disclosed to me that she was really upset that sky rubbed her serum on her dog. And although I felt like outing sky was the right thing to do, I realized that I put tanning in a compromising position and it upset her. And even though I felt like in the moment it was the right thing to do, I genuinely apologized. Like, I was sorry I upset tanning. I was sorry that I disclosed something she didn't want me to disclose, mind you, I was inebriated. I didn't say, but I didn't do any of that. I was genuinely sorry tanning was gonna come for me, but because I apologized to her.
Liberty Mutual Spokesperson's Partner
Who?
Reza Farahan
She really didn't have anything to say.
Mercedes Javid
If you hadn't said it, then everyone would just be thinking it. And it's like being in a chokehold is not how we want to watch reality tv, Right?
Reza Farahan
But she deserved a genuine apology from me because she didn't want me disclosing that.
Jeff Lewis
Let's take test in New Jersey, line five. Hi, Tess.
Caller Tess
Hello.
Jeff Lewis
Hi.
Caller Tess
Hi. Oh my God. First time on the radio, I'm like nervous.
Jeff Lewis
Oh, don't be nervous. You know us.
Caller Tess
I do. I've known you since the garbage man on the first flipping out, got fired.
Jeff Lewis
So you've known me a long time. We're good. We're old friends. World friends.
Caller Tess
My sister and I wanted to apply to be the new garbage people back then and we're like professional people. We were going to take a demotion to taking your garbage out. I really would love a shout out, Shane. Hey.
Caller Shane
Shout out to.
Caller Tess
I would like to be the unofficial HR consultant.
Jeff Lewis
Okay.
Caller Tess
Thank God, because you're hired like I've been. Thank you. And I'll do it gratis. Or you could buy me a drink at American Dream. I live like five miles away from there.
Jeff Lewis
So what is your comment?
Caller Tess
My comment on this, I have a lot of comments, but on this particular situation, cut your losses. Professionally, it's not going to work out. She's already using language like she feels attacked and you're, you know, plying her with drinks and that's why she can't do her job, which housewives have claimed. And housewives that are in lawsuits with Bravo right now have claimed that their behavior happened because they were given drinks. So you're. It's already. She's already laying the groundwork for,
Caller Steve
you
Caller Tess
know, hostile work environment, harassment, blah, blah, blah. If you want to remain friends, then that's fine, but professionally, I just think you're putting yourself in harm's way. She's not that. Like, she's saying she shouldn't be attacked by a grown man. How old is she?
Jeff Lewis
Was she 26?
Caller Shane
2026.
Jeff Lewis
Yeah, I, you know, I just felt that was kind of a. Again, excuses, deflection. I don't think she's litigious. And to be honest with you, I never really got worried about that because I have so many witnesses and there's a big file and you know, so I've documented everything and so I'm less concerned about that. And I kind of feel like that's an empty threat. But I understand your. Your former HR.
Mercedes Javid
Yes.
Jeff Lewis
Yeah, I understand what you're saying.
Caller Tess
Fortune 500 company and lawyers, even if somebody sends a letter, we would pay them just because it costs so much money to go on. She, She's a grown woman. I was a director when I was 26, 27 year olds old. I mean, since she. And as a Fan. In the last couple weeks, I've noticed less posts on her. Posts on her personal page have exploded. I mean, I don't know what the numbers are, but if you tallied the number of posts on her personal versus on yours, it's got to be two to one.
Jeff Lewis
Yeah. At least. Can we take line one? Christine Baltimore. Hi, Christine.
Caller Kim
Hi, Jeff. How are you?
Jeff Lewis
I'm good, thank you.
Caller Kim
So here's what I want to say.
Jeff Lewis
Okay.
Caller Kim
You and I are the same age, but how old is Annie?
Jeff Lewis
26.
Caller Tess
Okay.
Caller Kim
My son's 27. These kids today, and you call them your kids.
Caller Tess
You know what I mean?
Jeff Lewis
Yeah.
Caller Kim
So I just would really love for this to be a learning experience for her to get another chance, maybe. Who, me?
Caller Tess
No, it was the ring.
Caller Kim
The ring thing.
Jeff Lewis
Oh, okay. Go ahead.
Caller Kim
Sorry, I unplugged it.
Caller Steve
Never mind.
Caller Kim
I just really would love for this to be a learning, growing experience for her. Like, we don't need another chump to bite the dust.
Jeff Lewis
I know. I know.
Caller Kim
And, like, I just think about how much you giggle when she's on the air.
Jeff Lewis
I know.
Caller Kim
And the things she says.
Jeff Lewis
She's funny, for sure.
Caller Kim
She is. And she's talented. Hey, Reza and Mercedes.
Reza Farahan
Hey, sweetie.
Mercedes Javid
Hi.
Jeff Lewis
I know.
Caller Kim
Congratulations.
Mercedes Javid
I love listening to her.
Jeff Lewis
This is why I haven't pulled the trigger.
Reza Farahan
Let me say this truth.
Jeff Lewis
Very, very. Yeah.
Reza Farahan
If I were any. And I would want to keep my job, no matter what restrictions, modifications, alterations, whatever new work environment, you set up for me, my personality, I would come back. I would kill the game. I would regain your trust and regain all of the, you know, perks and everything that you used to give me. I would win you over and gain those things back from you. I would prove myself to you.
Jeff Lewis
I like this scenario. I do.
Caller Shane
I do think that's her intention. She sent like 10amazing clips in the last two days. I mean, she is.
Jeff Lewis
I hope that.
Reza Farahan
That I would come back and kill the game for you.
Mercedes Javid
On the. On the positive, like, what we love about Annie is her personality. And I feel like she makes you happy. Like just having her around and you enjoy her so much. She makes you laugh harder than anybody.
Jeff Lewis
I know. I love those one liners that come out of the corner.
Mercedes Javid
Yeah. One word.
Jeff Lewis
I do love it.
Mercedes Javid
Yeah. There's not even a whole sentence, just anything she.
Jeff Lewis
But I thought this, too. It's like, am I hiring someone to entertain me or am I hiring someone to, you know, to work?
Mercedes Javid
Maybe a little bit of both.
Jeff Lewis
Yeah, well, we need a little both. We need a little both. It's got to be the same thing.
Mercedes Javid
Exactly.
Jeff Lewis
I mean, I get that from Shane. I get entertained and I get a lot of work out of him. Same with Kean, for sure.
Mercedes Javid
But it's harder to be a woman, though. You know, she has her glam. She has to get herself together. But now she has to pull herself together and get things back on track with you.
Jeff Lewis
That's why I'm very torn and very divided and haven't made a decision. Cool. I'm very excited about tomorrow night.
Reza Farahan
Thank you so much.
Jeff Lewis
I'm excited for the book signing. And the Crystal, I think, is gonna do a great job.
Reza Farahan
Yes, she is.
Mercedes Javid
He's not. He doesn't mean that.
Jeff Lewis
I do mean that. I do mean that. And then are we all gonna be able to ask questions, too, at the end?
Reza Farahan
Yes.
Jeff Lewis
Oh, there's a little Q and A happening.
Caller Shane
I'm gonna think of something juicy.
Jeff Lewis
Q and A. Oh, you think you're gonna ask a question?
Reza Farahan
For sure.
Jeff Lewis
Don't get too drunk.
Reza Farahan
Shout out, Shane.
Caller Shane
I'll drink. A lot of cheesecake factors I'll have Now.
Mercedes Javid
Annie can come tomorrow. She was planning on coming. I think she was. I thought when we spoke last week.
Jeff Lewis
I think we're gonna. I think tomorrow we're gonna take that off. Thanks for listening. If you want more of this, listen to Jeff Lewis live every weekday on Saturday, SiriusXM, as well as the Jeff Lewis Channel, exclusively on the SiriusXM app.

Host: Jeff Lewis
Guests: Mercedes Javid (MJ), Reza Farahan
Theme: Book launches, reunions, and behind-the-scenes shake-ups in Jeff’s world and team—especially a candid critique of work relationships and the challenge of blurring personal/professional boundaries.
This lively episode brings together Jeff Lewis and his close friends/reality stars Mercedes Javid and Reza Farahan for an honest, at times combative, yet always entertaining conversation. The main focuses: Reza’s new book launch (“Memoirs of a Gay Shah”), updates on their Bravo-adjacent personal and professional lives, and a dramatic office shakeup involving Jeff’s team member Annie. Jeff openly weighs how generous (or lenient) he should be as a boss, reflecting on his difficult history managing talent and friendships.
A major thread in the episode—Jeff wrestles, live on-air, with what to do about his social media manager, Annie, whose recent performance and attitude have fallen short in his eyes.
The episode is a classic "Jeff Lewis Has Issues": humor mixed with real workplace drama, reality TV gossip, and deep dives into the messiness of friendship and employment. Jeff, Mercedes, and Reza let listeners peek behind the curtain—both on the realities of reality TV fame and the very real challenges of running a creative, high-profile workplace.
For a dose of unfiltered honesty, behind-the-scenes drama, and a look at what true professional accountability might look like (or not), this episode is essential listening for fans of Jeff and his extended Bravo orbit.
