Secrets Revealed… Slothfulness exposed… Scents never changed… Moab — God's wash pot. Moab has been at ease (never troubled by God) from his youth for God left him on his own sediment. He didn't pour him from vessel to vessel to refine him nor did He put him away in a dark cave to change his smell and flavor. (Jeremiah 48:11). Standing in the Gap You and I want to be found in the gap. We look at Amos in this study… as one who represents all the prophets, including Jeremiah, that have stood in the gap on behalf of God and for the people they've been given to love and lead. Standing in the gap for Jesus won't ever be easy, it can cost everything, but it will ALWAYS be worth it. Amos, a simply farmer, who didn't ask for this calling, was unwanted, unappreciated and unashamedly pushed away by the very people he prayed for and was extremely burdened over. He stood and he shared and he showed those he loved, lived among and worked around the burden and blessing God placed upon him. And his prayer life and unwanted intercession made a difference in Israel. Yes, a difference that only he and the Lord knew. The people, who wanted nothing to do with him and encouraged him to move on, had absolutely no idea what he did for them (Amos 7:1-9). He was a difference maker... one that trusted and pleaded with God and for God. He was a difference maker because he KNEW the Difference Maker. When we know someone that can make a difference, we usually turn to them to do something others can't do. Like Mary, Jesus' mother, who knew Someone... God sent them a prophet: 2 Chronicles 24:15-22 1. The prophets ministry is born out of God's wrath: (when the people have departed/forsaken/neglected/transgressed) 2 The prophets are sent at the worst time morally but some of the best time culturally, economically and intellectually, when humanistic thinking is celebrated and trusted most. 3 The prophets ministry will appear to be one rooted in negativity because he was sent to testify AGAINST them in their immorality.

Troubled • By God • Transformed • For God We looked at the process of refining wine Sunday. And how God says He never refined Moab, but left him as he always was, unlike His own people. And we traveled throughout the Scriptures looking at the process of God and how there are times when He allows us to "suffer awhile" but it's always with a purpose and aim to get the sediment off of our lives — because He's changing how we smell and taste. (1 Peter 5 ; Jeremiah 48:11 ; Psalms 119:67 ; Nahum 1:12). God will trouble us, allow the enemy to afflict us, and He does it all with an aim to get Jesus out of us. (2 Corinthians 4). Sunday mornings message we explored how David, in Psalms 25, asked the Lord to keep the enemy from triumphing over him, that no matter what the enemy does, he will continually lift his soul to the Lord. The fact He's chosen to refine us is a wonder and lifts my spirit to thank and look unto Him. He said Moab has been at ease (never troubled by God) from his youth for God left him on his own sediment. He didn't pour him from vessel to vessel to refine him nor did He put him away in a dark cave to change his smell and flavor. (Jeremiah 48:11). Great word for us! We see in Jeremiah 46-51 how God is revealing His secret plans for the nations… as Amos 3 reminds us of how God reveals a thing to His prophets before He does it. Why? So His people will know who did it when it happens. Slothfulness exposed… (Jeremiah 48:10) Scents never changed… (Jeremiah 48:11) Moab — God's wash pot. Moab has been at ease (never troubled by God) from his youth for God left him on his own sediment. He didn't pour him from vessel to vessel to refine him nor did He put him

Great Reminders Jeremiah, Isaiah, Daniel and Ezekiel… all stood in the gap. But when God looked among the nation and "her prophets" He found none to stand in the gap. #nestingwithjesus #jeremiah #jeremiah1 #jeremiah23 #DirectionforDividedDays #givingourbest #judges9 #isaiah19 #Ezekiel 22 #Ezekiel22and30 #psalm37 #psalm25 #Isaiah3 #isaiah54 #blacksmith #righteous #herprophets #gap #noah #weapons #waters #hebrews11 #verbal #visual #viloent #race #run #disqualified #lookup

What He Looked For… After reading through Jeremiah and chapter five of Isaiah's prophetic word I can't help but thank Jesus for being so merciful with an ol' sorry joker like myself. In Isaiah 5, He mentions seven (7) WOES between verses 8-22, and man how descriptive they are. Each WOE is revealing the results, or we can say the consequences of what happens, when the heart of men REJECT and DESPISE the Word of God (v24). The mouth may utter great things that sound cleaver and appeal to the nature of men but be far from the truth and filled with pride and polluted lies (vv.18-19). Our actions will eventually reveal our heart and what we believe... and when a society would rather run to the BOTTLE and not the BOOK it's in the "WOE" factor of God. And when it glorifies drinking, more than it does a gracious and merciful God, it's in the "WOE" factor of God (vv.11-12,20-23). When it has more laws that protect the trees, turtles and terrorist than it does babies in a womb, calling evil good and good evil, it's in the "WOE" factor of God (v.20). When it opens the flood gates of moral decay, and greases the road to the grave with tolerance and lawlessness, Sheol welcomes the outpouring of souls with open arms, it's in the "WOE" factor of God (vv.13-14). When it demands God to do what it wants and to draw near to it and not the other way around, it's in the "WOE" factor of God (vv. 18-19). #nestingwithjesus #jeremiah #jeremiah48 #jeremiah48and11 #isaiah5 #isaiah5and24 #moab #romans5 #james1 #refiningprocess #refinedlikefinewine #vesseltovessel

Tips For Dark Seasons and Life This word takes us back a few years to 2010. We look at a few tips for the night seasons and how important it is to see, understand and recognize that our DAILY journey through the revelation and message that God has given us as a lifetime investment. Knowing how to be steadfast and stretched through the dark days of life should be a priority for every servant of Jesus. It's always better to lean on God and walk for Him, through the dark, than to live without Him in the temporary light of a day. "Who among you fears the Lord? Who among you obeys the voice of His Servant? Who among you walks through the darkness without the light of His splendor? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely fully upon his God." (Isaiah 50:10) Who among you fears the Lord? Let Him trust and lean upon Him. Who among you obeys the voice of His Servant? Let Him trust and lean upon Him. Who among you walks through the darkness without the light of His splendor? Let Him trust and lean upon Him. The conclusion, no matter the circumstances we face, the challenges we encounter, the mission we've been given, the assignment we're fulfilling and no matter the amount of light we currently have, we are to trust in the unwavering and unchanging character of the Lord and confidently lean upon Him. Yes glory... the answer and affirmation remains the same. We're to look to and lean on the Lord of glory and all grace. Isaiah 50:11 takes it a step further to teach us not to manipulate the circumstances, sparking our own flames, to get something started, but to simply trust and turn every opportunity or obstacle into an opportunity to fix our eyes

When God Refines — From Vessel to Vessel Glory... I love tying in the passage and principles found in Jeremiah 48:11 about the process of going from vessel to vessel in the refining process of wine making. How He left Moab alone and didn't refine them as He did His people. What God is doing with His own is changing how we smell and taste... by refining us through problems, afflictions, test and trials removing the sediment or bitter dregs/lees. Glory... He's refining us like a wine maker making a vintage wine. Moab... God's wash pot. God didn't change Moab, into something like He refined His own people, He just used them for His dirty work. But if we're not careful, we won't praise God for what we think the enemy is doing. No, it's not that we can't praise, because we can, but we won't praise Jesus, if we can't see His hand in the hardship/crisis of life or hope/comforts of life. (crisis or comfort). Embrace the flames, my friends, it's through the fires of His furnace that we are refined for His service. He better than anyone knows how to consistently change how we smell and taste (Jeremiah 48:11). Have a great day loving Him and His wondrous ways and keep thanking Him for the flames of transformation. #nestingwithjesus #jeremiah #jeremiah48 #jeremiah48and11 #moab #romans5 #james1 #refiningprocess #refinedlikefinewine #vesseltovessel #wine #unbelief #Abraham #captive #hebrews5 #process #reprocessednutrition #feed #childish #psalms147 #Deuteronomy18 #amos3 #washpot #courage #confident #commited #Hedoesntconsidertheodds #trust #trustandobey #Heknowsme #Jesus #providence #providenceprevails #goodnews #beautifulfeet #curse #wrath #judgment #cross

My Unstoppable and Unavoidable God Learning who's at work, what He plans and why He's doing this, will help us stop giving credit to men, nations and armies and glorify the unstoppable and unavoidable God of the Bible. He reveals His secret counsel to those that fear Him. God can do what He wants, when He wants, however He wants, with whoever He wants, in whatever way He wants, for whatever reason He wants and who are we to think we can change Him or stop Him. I'd encourage to rejoice in this news and be grateful He's clued you in on who He is and what He can do. Don't fight it or fret over it... surrender to Him or you'll find out the hard way, just how wrong your assumptions of Him have been. We see again and again that God is sovereign in His mercy and His judgement. He does what He wants, when He wants, however He wants, with whoever He wants. If we're not careful, we'll let a world around us or the atmosphere of a nation dictate and manipulate our thoughts of who God is... and neglect the best two sources He's ever given to reveal Himself to us. What are they? Himself and His word... as He told the people in Micah's day, "does not my words do good to them who walk uprightly?" God speaks... but it only profits those who believe that He is God and rewards those that diligently seek Him… #nestingwithjesus #jeremiah46 #jeremiah43 #jeremiah44 #appendix #egypt #necho #isaiah10 #isaiah37 #Sennacherib #Nebuchadnezzar #powers #rulers #laws #decrees #floods #water #rising #floodwaters #unstoppable #unavoidable #heavensperspective #seeingwhatGodsees #notcreditingtheenemy #maintenace #roads #hebrews10 #disobedience #goingtoEgypt #notgatheringwiththebrethren

You Can't Give… What You Don't Have We can't give away what we don't have. What we put in — is what we get out. Illustrated this with money, coffee and biscuit dough. If I don't have it, I can't give it. Learning how to mingle the word and faith to have a life transforming word to give away. The true desire of every follower of Jesus should always be seeking, surrendering and striving for biblical truth that unveils the living Savior in a faithful and fruitful way. Let's look at a 7 FOLD Principle for study and how TRUTH is to transform our lives. (Acts 28:30 ; John 17:3 ; Jeremiah 31) 1. Truth that PRECISELY PROMOTES my Christ... It's TRUTH that is ETERNAL 2. Truth that PROFOUNDLY PENETRATES my Conscience... It's TRUTH that ENGAGES my Conscience (2 Cor 10:4-6) 3. Truth that PERPETUALLY PERMEATES my Core... it's TRUTH that ENRICHES my Core (Hebrews 4:12) 4. Truth that PRACTICALLY PREPARES my Convictions... it's TRUTH that ESTABLISHES my Convictions (2 Tim 3:16-17) 5. Truth that PURPOSELY PERSONALIZES my Compassion... it's TRUTH that EMBRACES my Compassion. (We all show compassion to things that are personal to us... truth refines and shifts that compassion with purpose to touch the needs for those who are without a Shepherd.) (2 Cor 5:14-15) 6. Truth that POWERFULLY PERSUADES my Conduct... it's TRUTH that EMPOWERS my actions and attitude which effects my Conduct or how I live from day to day. (the gospel: Romans 1:16-17) 7. Truth that PERSISTENTLY PURIFIES my Communication... it's Truth that Equips me to serve and help others. Communication with the world around is key to an effective witness. (Col 3:16-17 ; Eph 5:18) But our COMMUNICATION is void if ou
