There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now.

Welcome. We're so glad you're joining us today for Jesus the healer. And it is our absolute pleasure to take this time and minister the word to you. And we're feeding on it together because we're hungry for what God has for us. You know, Can I say this? One of the most important features that every believer needs to make sure they're carrying, and that's a hunger for the things of God. You know, whenever my husband and I, we met, oh, in 1984. Oh, that's what last century. And so I had only been saved and filled with the Holy Ghost a very short amount of time. And we met and we got married, and we were married right at 30 years before he went home to be with the Lord. And one of the things is that I thought he is so, you know, there was an age difference between us. He had been in the ministry over well over 15 years, almost 20 years whenever we got married. And so I was keenly aware of my spiritual youngness compared to him. But one of the things that I've recognized in life, it's not really about how mature someone is at that moment spiritually. It's about how hungry they are. Because if they're hungry, they'll develop, they'll grow, and they'll mature. But many times you can have someone that may have developed a little bit spiritually and has lost their hunger, and they stop right there where they're at. So I would say this. One of the most important features that we can have in our spiritual life is hunger. Make sure we're always hungry. Because when you're hungry, you won't just stay satisfied. You won't just stay where you're at and be content not to advance. So it's important for us, as we have this time together, doesn't it stir the hunger in us. Because if we'll stay full of the Word, we'll stay stirred up about the Word. It's when people are less than full that they can become complacent and their hunger can wane. But it's important that we stay hungry for the things of God. Because we're showing God how important it is to us that we. That we not only know His Word, but that we're becoming more skillful in His Word. And we are in the midst of a really important series called In Christ I Can. Because really, the truth of who we are in Christ and who he is in us is the foundation of our redemption. Not only that, when we renew our minds to who we are in Christ and we start operating, thinking and conducting life from that place, then it brings us into the highest order of faith. When we realize we're one with the Father, we don't struggle to believe Him. When we realize that he's in us doing the work, we settle that on the inside of us. He's the one working through us. It gets rid of fear that whenever God directs us to do something of what we would think is impossible, we don't stand back from that because we realize, hey, he's the one that's going to do the work anyway. And so we'll go with him into the impossible so easily. And that that realm of impossibilities for us is his home realm. It is. There's nothing impossible with Him. He lives in the realm of possibility. This natural realm is the realm of impossibility. But just if we will just renew our minds, he's going to do the work through us. Then we don't stand back from what looks impossible to us because he delights to perform for us and through us. And so it is our privilege to be the dwelling place of God. And we have as our. One of our golden texts for this series that we've been on is Colossians, chapter 2. In verse 9, the Living Bible translation says, for in Christ there is all of God. Look at this. All of God in a human body. And you say, well, that's Christ. No. Yes, of course, all of God was in Him. But look at verse 10. So you have everything when you have Christ. And you are filled with God through your union with Christ. Listen, it's not because we did something to earn or deserve being filled with God. It's because Jesus did the right thing. He's the One that brought us into oneness with the Father. And this is really the highest feature of our redemption. We are one with the Father and He is one with us. Now listen, Jesus magnified that in his earthly ministry. He said, believe us thou not, that I am in the Father and He is in me. This made religious devils so mad because not only did he call God his Father, that was such a term of intimacy, such a term and a realization fellowship that religious leaders could not comprehend. But he said, believe us thou not, that I am in the Father and He is in me. Well you know what, we can say the same thing. I am in the Father and He is in Me. And so Jesus made the point in that very same verse. I believe It's John, chapter 10, chapter 14, verse 10. And he said, and the Father in Me, he does the works. When we realize and renew our minds to we are one with the Father, he's one with us, then that opens up all the works of heaven can be manifesting and flowing through us that we become a co laborer with Him. Listen, God does the works through us, so he's the laborer, but we're the co laborer. We labor alongside his ability. His, his grace, his power is the one doing it. And we just get to be yoked up with Him. He does all the work and we get all the reward. It's just amazing deal. And so it's an honor for us to learn who we are in Christ and that we are one with Him. As I said, that's one of the highest features about our redemption is we are now one with the Father and He is one with us. Yes, we've been delivered from the power of sin. It has no more dominion to Lord it over us. Yes, we're redeemed from sickness and disease. Yes, we're redeemed from poverty and lack. But the wonderful thing of it is we are now one with the Father. And that could not have been made possible without the obedience of Jesus and the price he paid. Amen. Now in the last several episodes we have been looking at Acts chapter 17 in verse 28. We're just camping on it for a while. And it's such a a loaded verse for us. It reads, in him we live and move and have our being. So know this that when we look at this first phrase, in him we live. He's the sustaining force of this life. Not just when we get to heaven, but while we're on this earth. That's how come we can have days of heaven on earth. Because it's not the location that is heavenly only it's who's in us who's manifesting through us, who's flowing and producing through us. And it gives us heaven on earth. And for us to live the life that God authored for us, it requires him working through us. It requires us yielding to Him. People will make statements like, and I understand what they mean. But we have to really, we have to measure things we're saying. Because if we say it wrong, we can start thinking, thinking of it in wrong terms. And people will say, well, I want more of God. Well, I understand what they're saying, but really, I think the most correct way is I need to learn how to respond more to God. Because we are filled. This is what Colossians 2:10 tells us, that we are filled with God through our union with Christ. See, we are already filled. If we say, I want more of God, we're saying that I'm not filled. Well, we are filled with God. But what grows is not that we get more filled with God, is that we learn how to respond more, to yield further to Him. Because the more we yield, the more we respond, the more we obey, the greater the flow that he will be able to produce through us. We are filled with God, but now we're the ones who measure that flow by how much we yield, respond and obey Him. Amen. So know this. There's nothing of Himself that He has withheld from us. It's about us learning that he's already he has filled us and that we're just becoming skillful at letting him take the lead, letting him flow through us. And if I could say this, putting him to work for us. Amen. Now it not only says, in him we live, but look at this. In him we move. So faith is a movement. If we, since we are filled with God, we should be moving with Him. It's doubt and unbelief that will hesitate and hold back. But faith is a movement. And he is to feel our movements. Not only that, he's to direct our movements. And when we are obeying him in a movement, he's directing us to take. Know this. He will feel that movement with Himself. If it's a movement that we we authored. If it's a movement we decided a direction, we decided to go, we can't be sure that he's going to feel that movement. It's. It's the movement he's directing that he is in that movement. He meets us with his power as we move with Him. Many times people are saying, I need more power. God will then move further with Him. Because in the movement is when the power is moving and working for us, in us and through us. So know this. In him we move. In him, we live. In him, we move. And this third one is, in him we have our being. I like this phrase. In him we have. There's nothing we don't have when we're in Him. But it says, in him we have our being. What's he talking about when he's saying our being? Well, know this, that we are a threefold being. We are a spirit. We possess a soul which is made up of our mind, our will and our emotions. And we live in a body. We require him for all three features of our being. The spirit, the soul and the body. Amen. And know this. If we're going to live in the highest flow, we must draw on him for every single facet of our life. He's not just interested in our spiritual life. He's interested in the health of our soul. He's interested that we think right. He's interested that we have a peaceful mind. He's also interested in the body. And I want you to know that not only. Not only is our spirit filled with God, but we are to have a soul that thinks as he thinks. That we can take on the thoughts of God. The Word of God is the wisdom of God. It's the thoughts of God that God became an author. And God recorded for us how he thinks, how he moves. Why? So that we could learn him based on the Word and not just learn him based on feelings. So we see that he is the source. He's the supply of right thinking. If it weren't for the Word, we would not even know what right thinking is. If it weren't for the Word, we would know what the right decisions are. So it's because of the Word that we come into right thinking. Right thinking closes the door to the devil, and wrong thinking opens the door to the devil. So as we pour in more and more of the Word, as we take on his way of thinking, that means we're going to lay down any way of thinking we have that's in opposition to how he thinks. God offers us his thoughts. And it's a sound mind that says, I'll take the thoughts of God. I'm not going to hold to my own way of thinking when God's thoughts are offered to me. So it's a sound mind that says, I'm going to learn to think like God. I'm going to. In the face of every opposition, in the face of every test, we are to give ourselves the spiritual habit of saying, what does God's Word say about this? And we go first to his counsel, his advice, his way of thinking, and that is found in the Word. So how many of you know that one of the things that belong to us in Christ is a sound mind. But if we will not take on the thoughts of the Word, we're going to not be living as sound as he has authored for us to live. So a sound mind is part of our inheritance. It's one of our rights in Christ. But we that is only express experienced as we bring our own thinking in line with the Word of God. So know this, your spirit needs him, your soul needs him, your body needs Him. Now let's think about here for a minute about the body that we need divine healing power. We need the ability of God to not only heal us, but to keep us well. No matter how much you exercise or no matter how good a diet you have. And those things are, they're good, they're ripe, but they will never take the place of him for our body. Don't ever try to take your own health in your own hands by thinking I can just manage a well body completely on, on diet and exercise. As I said, those are components. But you're going to need the divine, you're going to need God involved in the health of your body. And so know this, that the Word of God is the medicine that God prescribes. That it will repair, it will restore the body, it will make it whole, but not only that, it will keep us whole. So as we feed on the Word, we are taking the medicine that God prescribes. And you say, well, Pastor Nancy, does that mean I shouldn't take any other medication that may be prescribed by a doctor? I'm not telling you to get off your medication. I'm saying don't neglect taking his medicine. That if you'll take his medicine, you'll find your body won't require too much of the other medicine that could be prescribed by man. And there, there can be a point to where we get to the point that we don't even need the outside help because we are living in Him. We live, we move, and we have his being for our body. Now also, one of the things that we have to realize is that the body is, if it's left without restraint, we'll take our life off course that the body wants its own way so much of the time. Paul said, I keep under my body lest after having preached to others, I myself should be a castaway or set aside as unusable so notice Paul said I keep under my body. When he's saying I, what's he talking about? He said the real you is your spirit. So he's saying I, I keep my body under the dominion of my spirit. I don't let my body lord it over my spirit. I keep my spirit in dominion over my body. What's that? What's that going to call for us to do? There's going to have to be a discipline that we are temperate, that we discipline the flesh so that it doesn't take off with our body, with our life and our body ruin our life. An undisciplined body can ruin a man's life. It can take a life off course if we leave that body without restraint. The good thing is we're not just left to human discipline to discipline that body. Because I tell you what, we need more than just human discipline in the face of flesh. We need more divine help. One of the fruits of the Spirit is called temperance. And there are nine fruits of the Spirit listed in Galatians, chapter 5 and verse 22. These are the attributes of God that dwell in every believer at the new birth. The Holy Spirit, he is, he's the one who imparted these fruits, these attributes of God. The so that we can live in line with how God operates. One of these fruits is called temperance. This word temperance, it gives us the understanding, restraint, self control. What's this mean? We have divine temperance to control our flesh. Human willpower is not enough to control the body of man over long term. Human willpower can be developed to where it will. It will keep the body in check for a period of time. But for long term, we need divine help. We have temperance. We have self restraint, self control. Now think of the temperance of God. He has been so falsely accused through every generation of humanity. They have blamed God. People have blamed God for all the heartache, the heartbreak, the things that have gone wrong in their life. They have blamed God, accused God, spoken ill of God of things he never did. And think of the self restraint that God has has shown by not dealing with people who falsely accused him in a very dramatic way because he just held himself to the flow of love the whole time while he was being falsely accused. So there's one thing about God, is that if he wanted to get rid of any troubling situation he could, and if it weren't for the mercy of God, how could any of us stand? God has restrained himself from what we deserve. Jesus Christ paid the price because we deserved, we deserved Death we deserved going to hell, but because of the. Not only the love of God, but the restraint of God that would not let himself just go off in all of his power and deal with us. He dealt with us in love, and he still deals with us in love. And I want you to see that this is how excellent this attribute of God is, the temperance of God, and it is in you. And we need divine temperance for our body because otherwise we can wear ourselves out trying to do better. Listen, we want to do better. How many times you say, I want to do better, but every time I try to my flesh. Paul had the same thing. He said, I end up doing things I don't want to do. Who will deliver me from this body? And then he says, God will. The spirit of God will. And we have the spirit of God who imparted divine temperance. What is this? In him we live, in him we move. And in him we have our being even to help us keep the body in its proper place so that it doesn't run off with our life and ruin our life. I remember when I would have been probably about four, maybe five years old. And until we. Until I was eight years old, we lived in a little town in Oklahoma called Olustee. We moved when I was 8 years old to the big whopping metropolis of Altus. And that was, I don't know, maybe 15,000 people, but it was a lot bigger than Olustee, who we maybe had a couple hundred people. And most of those people were related. You know, you move into some of these small communities and there's really just a few families dominating in that region. Precious people. But the thing that we. I so loved about that little community is so many of us, we had, you know, our houses and we didn't have fencing, you know. No, no. Fences were around yards, and you had plenty of space. It was not a close, you know, track home setting. It was just where we all had our own spacious yards, front and back, and no fencing because all of our dogs and cats ran and visited everybody in town, you know, and they came home at night. But it was just such a simple, easy way of life. But one of the things that a lot of us in town had were horses. And right outside in the back of our house, Daddy had a barn and we had several horses. So our community would get together periodically and we would go on campouts. You know, we would go out and we'd have a bonfire and everybody would just ride their horses out to this place outside of town and we'd have A bonfire and have dinner together and we would just, you know, weenie roast and making s' mores and all these really fun things. And I remember that there was a pony, though, that I was riding. My parents were in front. I have. I had three other. I have two brothers and one older sister. I was. I'm the youngest of four. And so everybody had their own horses except my second oldest brother. He was riding a horse and my sister was riding on double horse with him. So there was. My parents each had their horse. My oldest brother had a horse, then my brother and my sister riding a horse. And then I was riding this pony and I was coming up behind because that little pony just couldn't keep up. The same with those big horses. Well, something special spooked the pony I was riding. I don't remember what it was, but all of a sudden that pony got spooked and he took off. And he didn't just take off straight ahead. He went this way and he went off to the side. My parents didn't see it, but my brother, who was riding double with my sister, he saw this pony take off with me a wrong direction. My brother knew that if that pony didn't get stopped, I'd be carried to place where it might not turn out so good for me. So my brother pushed my sister off the back and she landed on the ground and he took off after me. And he was able to catch that pony by the, you know, by the reins and stop. Because I tried to stop the pony. Actually, I didn't know the pony shouldn't do that. I was actually loving it. I was laughing. I was enjoying it. Because I didn't know ponies should not do this when they need to be kept with the group. I didn't know that I was in any kind of risk or danger, but my brother knew it. So he came and he grabbed that pony. It took him a while to catch up to us because I had a bit of a head start. But he grabbed it and brought it back in line. I want you to know that's what happens to the body without divine temperance. It will take off with your life. And it can take your life in a place you don't want to end up. Thank God for the temperance of God. Thank God for His divine help that not only in God do we live. Not only in God do we move, but in him we have all we need for our being to be healthy, whole, balanced in place. That we should not put up with things out of place in our being, spirit, soul, and body. And I want you to know I love something that dad Hagin, who is our spiritual father, he made this statement. He said, if you will get your spirit where it ought to be, your body will start responding. What did he mean by that? If something is out of order in our spiritual life, it will show up in our body. That it can open the door to sickness and disease. It can also open the door to problems in our finances or in our homes. We have to have our spirit in line, in order. What's that mean? We have to know the will of God for our life. And we hold our spirit in line with his will that we're carrying out his plan. How can we do that? In him we live, in him we move. And in him we have all we need for our being to be balanced, our being to be sound, our being to be healthy, Spirit, soul and body to carry proper order. When things get out of order, they don't work right. You know, it's not that something is just working. It needs to be in proper order when it's working. And so this is what dad Hagin said. If you will get your spirit where it ought to be, if it's in order, then your body will start operating right. Many times people are trying to believe God for finances or they're trying to believe God for healing. But there's a bigger problem that's the source of the issue. You know, sometimes people get into financial problems and they think they have money problems when really sometimes it's strife in the home or strife in the marriage or disobedience somewhere. And that's what we want to make sure our spirit life is in order. Because then every single arena of our life will be able to function as it are in soundness and balance. So thank God. In him we live, in him we move. And in him we have everything we need for a healthy, sound, total well being, spirit, soul and body. Amen. Well, you don't want to miss next time. And until then, remember this Jesus is the healer. God bless you.

Episode: 1014 | In Christ I Can, Part 254
Date: May 21, 2026
Host: Nancy Dufresne (Dufresne Ministries)
Theme: Growing into the fullness of what belongs to the believer in Christ, with a focus on faith, healing, and the believer’s union with God—spirit, soul, and body.
In this episode, Nancy Dufresne continues her extended series on the theme “In Christ I Can,” drawing from Colossians 2 and Acts 17:28: “In Him we live, and move, and have our being.” Nancy teaches on the vital importance of spiritual hunger, the reality of the believer’s union with God, and practical ways to walk in the fullness of what Christ provided—especially as it pertains to faith, healing, and living whole (spirit, soul, and body). She stresses the necessity of renewing the mind, yielding to the Holy Spirit, and depending on divine, rather than human, strength for victorious living.
00:10 – 00:52
Nancy opens with a reminder that God’s power is always available wherever you are—even in a “sick room.”
“There’s enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one... Power is present. That power is there to do a work.”
(Nancy Dufresne, 00:12)
She encourages listeners to receive that power, reinforcing the believer’s authority to appropriate what God has already provided.
“Say, I receive that power. I receive it right now from the top of my head to the soles of my feet.”
(Nancy Dufresne, 00:38)
00:52 – 02:40
Nancy stresses that spiritual progress is determined less by maturity and more by hunger for God.
“It’s not really about how mature someone is at that moment spiritually. It’s about how hungry they are.”
(Nancy Dufresne, 01:32)
She shares a personal story about recognizing her “spiritual youngness” compared to her late husband, but learning that hunger always leads to continued growth.
Emphasizes:
02:41 – 08:48
Nancy’s core message: The unity believers have with Christ and the Father is the highest truth of our redemption.
Colossians 2:9-10 (Living Bible):
“For in Christ there is all of God in a human body... so you have everything when you have Christ, and you are filled with God through your union with Christ.”
Jesus taught this oneness:
“I am in the Father and He is in Me... The Father in Me, He does the works.”
(Referencing John 14:10, 06:08)
Believers are “co-laborers” with God:
“He does all the work and we get all the reward. It’s just an amazing deal.”
(Nancy Dufresne, 07:10)
Being one with Him gives us authority and boldness to believe God, even for the impossible—because it’s “His home realm.”
08:49 – 19:11
Nancy unpacks Acts 17:28 as a template for walking in the fullness of Christ:
“If we say, ‘I want more of God,’... the most correct way is, ‘I need to learn how to respond more to God.’ Because we are filled.”
(Nancy Dufresne, 12:17)
Natural health methods (diet and exercise) are good but insufficient without divine involvement.
The Word of God is described as “the medicine God prescribes.”
Nancy clarifies:
“I’m not telling you to get off your medication. I’m saying don’t neglect taking His medicine.”
(Nancy Dufresne, 20:53)
Walking in divine healing may eventually result in needing less “outside help.”
The body, if left unchecked, can derail our spiritual and practical lives.
Paul’s example:
“I keep under my body lest after having preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” (Referencing Paul)
Temperance (self-control) is a fruit of the Spirit, not just human willpower.
“Human willpower can be developed... but for long term, we need divine help. We have temperance.”
(Nancy Dufresne, 24:55)
Illustrates God’s restraint (temperance) toward humanity and connects it with the self-control we need in daily life.
Memorable Anecdote (26:14):
Nancy shares a childhood story about her runaway pony to illustrate that, just as an unchecked horse can take a child to a dangerous place, an undisciplined body can lead one astray—divine temperance is the “reins” we need.
Quoting Kenneth E. Hagin:
“If you will get your spirit where it ought to be, your body will start responding.”
(Nancy Dufresne referencing Hagin, 33:05)
Many outward problems (even financial or physical) can stem from deeper spiritual issues or disorder.
Solution:
On securing spiritual hunger:
“When you’re hungry, you won’t just stay satisfied. You won’t just stay where you’re at and be content not to advance.”
(Nancy Dufresne, 01:57)
On unity with the Father:
“We are now one with the Father, and that could not have been made possible without the obedience of Jesus and the price He paid.”
(Nancy Dufresne, 08:26)
On the practicality of the Word:
“The Word of God is the wisdom of God... so that we could learn Him based on the Word and not just learn Him based on feelings.”
(Nancy Dufresne, 17:04)
On healing and the Word as medicine:
“The Word of God is the medicine that God prescribes. It will repair, it will restore the body, it will make it whole, but not only that, it will keep us whole.”
(Nancy Dufresne, 20:38)
On temperance and controlling the body:
“We need more than just human discipline in the face of the flesh. We need more divine help.”
(Nancy Dufresne, 24:47)
Nancy’s tone is pastoral, encouraging, and instructional, with a steady emphasis on practical faith and the compassion of God. She uses anecdotes, direct scripture teaching, and the language of faith to engage her listeners, often punctuating teaching with personal warmth and urgency for practical application.
This episode weaves together theology and practical advice for believers looking to walk out the reality of their union with Christ. Nancy urges listeners to remain spiritually hungry, renew their minds with the Word, and depend on both divine healing power and the Spirit’s fruit (especially temperance) for victorious living in spirit, soul, and body. The resounding message: Everything we need is already ours in Christ, and as we yield, God does the work—resulting in true wholeness.
