Kenneth Copeland
There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now. I receive it right now from the top of my head. From the top of my head. The soles of my feet. The soles of my feet. Welcome. We're so glad you're joining us today for Jesus the Heater. We are in the midst of a series that it is so vital to us to renew our minds to because it is central to the flow of our life. And that is basically knowing who we are in Christ and depending on him who is in us. We're not trying to, if I could say this, win something for ourselves. We're not trying to become something. We're already in Him. But we need to learn to draw on who he is, respond to who he is, and put him to work for us. Amen. In the first of each one of the episodes in this series, I'm telling the story of when. A story that Brother Copeland told that I heard him tell in the service. And he was talking about the time that God said to him back in the 1970s, he said, I want you to sow $50,000 to Kenneth Hannah Ministries. And listen, when God gave a command like that, he was not trying to bring a hardship upon Brother Copeland. Brother Copeland, they were in debt at the time. They were in the beginning years of their ministry. Early on in their ministry, when God commands something of us that is beyond us, it's not because he's trying to put hardship on us. He's trying to bring us into the higher flow of what that obedience would bring us into. You know, I know this, that whenever and I pastored for 25 years, precious congregation, we were able recently to pay off the last couple of years. We paid off our buildings, our properties, and we're debt free. But I know this, that whenever we would put our hand to a project and anyone who said, I'm going to participate in giving, they would come into a flow of supply they would not have ever experienced if they hadn't hooked up with that project. Well, it's the same thing. When God told Brother Copeland, give that $50,000, he was hooking him up to a supply he never would have been hooked up to if he hadn't have said yes to that command. And so that command, of course, Brother Copeland didn't have that money in his own personal resources. But the answer that Brother Copeland gave to that command was so skillful. And this is the answer we've been focusing on because it represents what an answer of in Christ looks like. So when Brother. When God told Brother Copeland, I want you to give $50,000 to Brother Hagin's ministry, Brother Copeland's answer was, in Christ I have it, and in Christ I can give it. Now, that's huge, because when I heard that, it dawned on me, oh, I. Outside of Christ, he didn't have it. Oh, outside of Christ, he couldn't have given it. But if we stay mindful and talk about that we are in Christ, that puts us in a flow of things we never could have done otherwise. Amen. And he was able. He saved him And Sister Gloria, they would take their coins at the end of every day and save them. And after time, they would send that into Brother Hagin's ministry. After a time, he contacted their ministry and said, how much have I given? He didn't know how much. And they said, you've given well over $50,000. Well, Brother Copeland said, I knew that didn't come through my hands. He said, God made up the difference. Why? Because he employed Christ. He wasn't just employing his bank account, he was employing Christ. So this has been our jumping off point, that testimony, that story to show to us what it means to be in Christ, that anything God commands of your life, the plan of God, the vision of God for your life, God never expected you to fulfill it. Apart from him, he intended that it all be fulfilled with his ability working through you. So don't forget him. Don't leave him out. Do you know when you remember that it's in him working, how quick your yes will be to him, you won't just struggle when you hear God say something to you, you won't struggle with it because you'll say, in him, I can do that. And if you're going to try to measure it, to you, everything looks impossible because everything that comes out of God is impossible to man, but only possible to God. So when we say, in him, I can do it, in Christ, I can do it. What we just did, we became a participant in what was impossible made possible. Now, one of our keynote Scriptures has been in Colossians, chapter two. And this is verse six. And I'm going to read it out of the. Out of the. This is the living Bible translation. And it reads this way. And now, just as you trusted Christ to save you, trust him too. For every day's problems, live in vital union with Him. That means stay in fellowship with God. What's that mean? Acknowledge him all throughout the day. Verse 7 says this. Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from Him. What's that mean? Establish these truths on the inside of you and spend them every single day. Now, let's go down to verse nine. It says, for in Christ, there is all of God, human body that's talking about you. In Christ, there is all of God in a human body. He didn't leave any of Himself out of you. He's all in you. Yeah. Verse 10. So you have everything. When you have Christ and you are filled with God through your union with Christ, approach every need with, I already have everything. Mm. Since I already have everything, I'm going to sit back and let everything flow. I'm going to recline on Christ in me. And when I recline on Him, I'm reclining on everything. No, I won't do without, because everything is already available to me because I'm in Christ. It flows through me. It doesn't flow necessarily from your resources. It flows from him who lives in you through your resources. Amen. Huge. Quit trying to become who you already are. Amen. You're in Him. Now, when we talk about in Christ, let's look at Galatians, chapter 5 and verse 22. Galatians 5, 22 lists for us the fruits, Spirit. Now, these aren't the fruits of the Holy Spirit. They're the fruits of the human Spirit put in us by the Holy Spirit at the new birth. So let's read verse 22. It says, but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith. Or we could say this faithfulness, meekness, temperance. Or we could say self control, self discipline. Against such there is no law. And they that are Christ have crucified the flesh with the affections and the lusts and the lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. So notice this. What does he call walking in the Spirit? Letting these fruits dominate you. Walking in the Spirit doesn't mean acting odd. Amen. It doesn't mean that you're odd. We are peculiar. The Word calls us peculiar. Why? We're not like anything else in the world. We're a new creature in Christ. We're a new species of being. But to walk in the Spirit means we're letting what the Spirit deposited in us at the new birth. We're letting that dominate us when we allow these fruits of the Spirit to govern us. We are walking in the Spirit now. These fruits are the flow of God in you. All of these fruits came out of God. Note this. The devil's got none of them. He's got none of these. If you employ these, you have employed something the devil doesn't even have to have access to notice here. One of these is longsuffering. You know what longsuffering is? Patience. Do you know if you'll just be patient in the face of adversity, you'll win. Because the devil's got no patience. You'll outlast him, just outlast him. You stay on the field longer than he does. Amen. You employ these fruits. The devil has none of them. You're an automatic win if you'll use them. If you'll employ them. When you employ these fruits, you just employed Christ. How do we employ Christ in us? We employ these fruits. These are the flow of God. These came out of God. These found their beginnings in God. And he took of himself and put these in us. This is called In Christ. Christ in us. So if we're walking in Christ, we're going to walk with these fruits dominating us. Amen. Dominating us every day. So we have to ask ourselves, how would Christ respond? He would always respond in line with these fruits. Isn't that right? He responded in love. He responded in joy. He responded in peace. He responded in longsuffering or patience with people. Listen, can I tell you this? I'm not going to use you. I'm going to use me. God has been so patient with me for decade after decade after decade while I grew. And I'm still growing. That's one of the things I thank God the most for. God, thank you for being patient, not giving up on me. Right? He hasn't given up on us for one reason. He's patient. Not because we're something, but because he's patient. Amen. So all of these things that are listed here in us, Christ, he showed these in his earthly life. So to walk in these, we're walking in Christ. To let Christ dominate us, we're letting these dominate us. Now think about it. Let's look at them one at a time. Real quick. Love. It's in You. It's in you. It's in you. It's not a feeling of love. It's a force of love. All of these things are divine forces. They came out of heaven. None of them are human. They're all divine. So there is a natural love that man has. That's not the love of God. That's not divine love. It's a different kind of love. Because human love will quit. Human love will give up. Human love will turn to hate. Human love will leave a relationship that it started right. Divine love won't. The love of God. It finds its source in love. It finds its source rather in God. Now, human love finds its source in circumstances. If the circumstances are favorable, I love it. If they change, I don't love it anymore. But divine love, its source is in God. Now he's in you. He took of his love, put it in you. So when you draw on that love you're drawing on in Christ, how do I walk in Christ? I employ the love of God that's on the inside of me. I respond as he responds in love. Look at this. Joy is in me. I'm not waiting for circumstances to be joyful. Joy is in me. I've always said this is that I don't wait for circumstances to offer me joy. Before I'm joyful, I brought my own joy. So if circumstances don't offer me joy, no problem. I'm still joyous because I brought my own with me. Where did I get it? From God himself. It's the flow of God now. For us to be less than joyful is to leave the flow of God we've just left letting Christ dominate us. So if we have a day without joy, we have not been yielding to the greater One in us. Because he's joyful, his flow is joyful. You know, the world doesn't understand that. And the world doesn't place enough emphasis on what it means to be joyful. It's not just some feeling of hilarity. It's a force. And when you exert, when you respond in joy to circumstances that aren't joyful, you know what you do? You close the door to wrong circumstances. If you'll rejoice in the face of wrong circumstances, then they can't get in you. Now, James said this. James, chapter one, verse two. Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you fall into diverse tests and temptations. What's that mean? He says, when a test shows up, if you'll start rejoicing, that test can't get in you. That test will come and knock on your door. But just because it shows up on your front porch doesn't mean it's got to get in your house. Joy is how you keep tests out of you. That's huge because so many people have become offended with God when they were faced with a test. They got angry with God, they got mad with God. Why they didn't rejoice when opposition showed up? Why? We're not rejoicing because opposition showed up. We're rejoicing because we know this. This opposition shows up. And I get to employ Christ. I get to put Christ on this, and I get another experience of seeing Christ show up in my life. And that's a joy to watch him work. Amen. That's what we're rejoicing about. We're not rejoicing because we're opposed. We're rejoicing because we have the opportunity to watch God manifest in my life now. When my husband went home to be with The Lord in 2013, there were eight big projects that we had to complete that he had started. Two of them were the construction of buildings. So when I say projects, they were big projects. They weren't something that could be done in a day. But he had been trying for five years to finish these projects. Within one year after his homegoing, they were all done and they were all paid off. One year. I got into such a flow of seeing miracles that year. It took miracle after miracle after miracle after miracle that I got addicted to. To miracle flow. I can't. I don't know how to say it other than that. And there was such joy in the miracle flow because I got to see God move. I got to every day I would see God work. And I got addicted to watching God perform. I was so joyous in that time when many people would have maybe gone a different direction with their life, But I stayed in the plan of God because it was a joy to watch God work. When we aren't joyful, we're watching the wrong thing work instead of watching God work. You understand? You can't watch God work and you be lack joy. It's a joy to watch him work, watch him perform. And I would, in the face of opposition, I would sense the anointing come on me. Day after day, it would tangibly drop on me. I could feel it like a blanket coming over my shoulders. What did I know? I knew something was fixing to erupt. But I also knew this. Too late. The anointing to deal with. It's already come. That's the Performance of Christ in me. That's the performance of God in me, who has already supplied everything I'm going to need in the face of this adversity. And it was a joy because when that adversity. Because it always showed up, that opposition always showed up. When I could feel that anointing tangibly come, that opposition always showed up. And I just let him work. I let him do it. I refused to worry, and I just stayed in joy. Because I know he's already working on this. And it was a joy to watch him work. If outside of joy, we have forgotten that he's working. And not only that, we're hindering him from working when we're not in joy. Why, if we're not in joy, it's because we're trying to do the work. Well, praise the Lord. The joy's in you. Could I say this? The joy of watching him fulfill his word. Amen. Then the next thing, peace. It's in you. I said it's in you. Now you can. People can live worried if they want, but they don't have to because peace is already there. Can I say this? Worry is so loud. You want to know why? Because it's weaker than peace. It has to be loud to dupe you into swallowing worry instead of drawing on peace. When you're the strongest thing in the room, you don't have to be the loudest thing in the room, right? Well, in the room of your spirit, peace is greater than opposition. Peace is greater than fear. Peace is greater than worry. And you don't. And peace doesn't have to be loud because it wins. Amen. You just have to turn toward peace. That's called walking in Christ. When you draw on the peace instead of yielding to the worry. What about long suffering? What is that? That's patience. People say, I just can't put up with that anymore. Well, when you're drawing on the fruit of patience, you don't run out. I said you don't run out. Can I say this about fruit? It grows on a tree. You know what you have to do? I have some orange trees outside my house there in California. And when that produces, although the fruit is there, if I don't pick it, that fruit will ruin on that tree. That fruit will go unenjoyed if I don't pick it. Same thing with the fruits of the Spirit. You got to pick them. What's that mean? You got to spend them. You've got to use them every day when problems come up. Say, you know what? I'm not going to settle for less than God's best. I'm going to be patient through this. The devil offers you something that's so much less than what God offers you. He wants your impatience to take the decoy. I've learned this through my own life. I've learned it through pastoring and watching other people's lives. Just for example, let's take marriage. I have seen that in most every case before the right one comes that someone's supposed to marry, the devil offers them a decoy. If he doesn't offer one in the relationship, it's the other one that he offered. If the man doesn't experience it, the one that ends up being the wife. One of them was offered a decoy. Why the devil was trying to get them to settle. If they became impatient waiting for the right one, they would just settle for the wrong one. Lack of patience, long suffering, just saying, you know what? I'm not settling for less than God's best. Now, too many times you have to tell young people this. God's best doesn't always mean they look perfect or they act perfect or they are perfect. But you know, this is God's best for me. Amen. And so don't settle for less than God's best. To be patient is to. Is to walk in Christ. You're drawing on him. That means I'm not settling for less than God's best. I'm holding out for his best. Now the next one is gentleness. So that's in you. What's that mean? That does away with all harshness. It does away with all strife that divides and tears up homes. Sometimes people learned strife in the homes they were raised and they just think that that's a normal way of living. Some cultures strife is very accepted. But you know what? We're not living by our culture anymore. We're in Christ. We live by the Word. Just because it's acceptable in culture doesn't mean it's acceptable in heaven. Just because it's acceptable to a culture doesn't mean it's acceptable in Christ. So we live by one in Christ. That means that we don't let our culture dominate us. When there's this wonderful fruit of the Spirit called gentleness on the inside of us that we don't. We're not harsh in our home, being a tornado in our own home, tearing it up, but we're creating heaven in our home because we're gentle with one another. Amen. We're not harsh and hard hearted. Amen. This is called Letting Christ in you, dominate you. Then what about this goodness? I'll tell you. God will teach you how to be good. Because he's nothing but good, right? For the Lord is good. What is his goodness? His mercy endures forever. Mercy is a flow of him being good to us. He gives us mercy. And if we're not that. If I could say naturally wired to be thoughtful or good to someone. The Holy Ghost will teach you how to be good. Can I tell you this? I was buying something for myself recently and God said to me, did you ever, when I bought it, said, did you ever think about buying that for such and such? And I said, I guess I didn't or you wouldn't be asking this. And he said, buy it for them too. So what did that do? He taught me how to be good like him. To think of somebody besides myself. Goodness thinks of somebody besides yourself. It thinks of the other fellow. It makes the other fellow look good. Listen, Jesus made us look good. Why, he took his own righteousness and made it a gift to us. Everything of his goodness, he made ours. That goodness is in us. Then we have this next one. Faith. Faithfulness. It's in you. Why? So you won't be a quitter on things. Praise God. Amen. We're faithful. We stay with it. How many people have quit on jobs? Quit in certain circumstances of life that something hard comes up and they run from it. When you yield to the Christ in you, you quit running from hard circumstances. You stay faithful because you're drawing on the greater one in you to hold you steady. You're drawing on the Word to hold you steady so that you quit being a quitter life. Amen. And then we know this, look at this meekness, that we're. If I could say this is another flow of gentleness. And we're not arrogant, we're not prideful. What's this mean? Ah, we're easy to be led. We're not hard hearted, demanding our way. We're meek. We're teachable so that God can bring us into the highest flow. Then what's this? Temperance? Self. Ah, self discipline. Did you know that all the self discipline you need is in you now if you'll employ it, it will start dominating your behavior. People are trying to develop discipline. It's already in you. Why that fruit of temperance, it's in you. It's already in you. Now use it. Amen. Quit trying to. I'm trying to be more disciplined. Nope. Christ in you, the hope of glory. He's already filled you with the fruit of self discipline. Use it. Say, I am disciplined in this. I am disciplined in that. I'm not trying to develop self in myself. I'm not trying to develop discipline. He is my discipline. He put the fruit of temperance, of discipline in me. I am self disciplined now. I'm going to employ it. I'm going to use it. This is called walking in Christ. This is called living as one in Him. Amen. Well, I don't know about you, but it's a blessing to me to hear these things and to share these with you. Podcast Summary: Jesus the Healer w/ Nancy Dufresne Audio Podcast
Episode: 770 | In Christ I Can, Part 10
Release Date: June 13, 2025
Introduction to the Series: "In Christ I Can"
In Episode 770 of "Jesus the Healer," hosted by Nancy Dufresne of Dufresne Ministries, the focus remains on the transformative power of living "In Christ." The series underlines the importance of renewing one's mind, understanding identity in Christ, and relying on the Holy Spirit to facilitate spiritual growth and healing.
The Story of Brother Copeland: Faith and Provision
Nancy begins by sharing an inspiring testimony from Brother Kenneth Copeland, a prominent figure in Christian ministry. In the 1970s, God instructed Brother Copeland to sow $50,000 into Kenneth Hagin’s ministry—a significant sum that Copeland did not personally possess, as his ministry was in its early, financially strained stages. Nancy emphasizes that such divine commands are not meant to cause hardship but to usher believers into a higher level of spiritual provision and blessing.
"When God told Brother Copeland, give that $50,000, he was hooking him up to a supply he never would have been hooked up to if he hadn't said yes to that command."
— Nancy Dufresne [04:50]
Through unwavering faith, Brother Copeland demonstrated that "In Christ I can give it," highlighting that without Christ, such generosity would have been impossible. Ultimately, supernatural provision surpassed the initial command, with their contributions exceeding $50,000, underscoring God's ability to provide beyond natural means.
Understanding Our Identity in Christ
Nancy delves deeper into the concept of identity in Christ, stressing that believers are not striving to earn or become something through their efforts. Instead, being "In Christ" means already possessing everything needed for spiritual victory and daily life.
"We are in Him. But we need to learn to draw on who He is, respond to who He is, and put Him to work for us."
— Nancy Dufresne [03:30]
This identity fosters a reliance on Christ's power rather than personal ability, enabling believers to achieve what would otherwise seem impossible.
Key Scriptures: Colossians on Vital Union with Christ
Nancy highlights key passages from Colossians 2:6-10 (Living Bible translation), which encapsulate the essence of living in vital union with Christ:
Trust and Fellowship:
"Just as you trusted Christ to save you, trust him too. For every day's problems, live in vital union with Him."
— Nancy Dufresne [08:15]
Rootedness and Nourishment:
"Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from Him."
— Nancy Dufresne [08:30]
Fullness in Christ:
"For in Christ, there is all of God in a human body. He didn’t leave any of Himself out of you. He’s all in you."
— Nancy Dufresne [08:45]
These verses reinforce that believers possess everything needed for spiritual growth and overcoming challenges through their union with Christ.
The Fruits of the Spirit Explained
Transitioning to Galatians 5:22-23, Nancy elucidates the nine Fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, longsuffering (patience), gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, and temperance (self-discipline). She clarifies that these are not inherent human qualities but divine attributes infused by the Holy Spirit upon rebirth.
"These fruits are the flow of God in you. All of these fruits came out of God."
— Nancy Dufresne [12:50]
Application of Each Fruit in Daily Life
Nancy methodically breaks down each fruit, explaining its divine nature and practical application:
Love:
Emphasizes unconditional, divine love that doesn't wane with circumstances.
"The love of God... is a force of love. It finds its source in God."
— Nancy Dufresne [14:30]
Joy:
Described as an inherent force from God, enabling believers to rejoice despite unfavorable conditions.
"Joy is in me. I'm not waiting for circumstances to offer me joy."
— Nancy Dufresne [16:00]
Peace:
Advocates drawing on God's peace to override worries and fears.
"Peace is greater than opposition. Peace doesn't have to be loud because it wins."
— Nancy Dufresne [18:45]
Longsuffering (Patience):
Encourages enduring hardships without giving in to impatience, thereby overcoming adversities.
"When you're drawing on the fruit of patience, you don't run out."
— Nancy Dufresne [20:30]
Gentleness:
Promotes a non-confrontational and harmonious approach within homes and relationships.
"We're creating heaven in our home because we're gentle with one another."
— Nancy Dufresne [22:10]

— Nancy Dufresne [25:20]
Temperance (Self-Discipline):
Advocates utilizing inherent self-discipline gifted by Christ rather than striving to develop it independently.
"He's already filled you with the fruit of self-discipline. Use it."
— Nancy Dufresne [26:10]
Personal Testimonies and Experiences
Nancy shares personal anecdotes to illustrate the practical impact of living "In Christ I Can." She recounts the miraculous completion and debt repayment of projects initiated by her late husband within a year of his passing, attributing these blessings to her unwavering faith and reliance on Christ's provision.
"When my husband went home to be with The Lord in 2013, there were eight big projects... Within one year after his homegoing, they were all done and they were all paid off."
— Nancy Dufresne [17:00]
She also describes experiencing a "miracle flow," where consecutive supernatural interventions reinforced her joy and addiction to witnessing God's work in her life. This period of divine activity solidified her understanding of relying solely on Christ for all needs and challenges.
"I got addicted to watching God perform. I was so joyous in that time when many people would perhaps have gone a different direction."
— Nancy Dufresne [19:50]
Conclusion: Living in the Power of Christ
Nancy concludes by reiterating that the Fruits of the Spirit are manifestations of Christ living within believers. By embracing these divine attributes, individuals can effectively navigate life's adversities, remain steadfast in faith, and experience the transformative power of being "In Christ." She emphasizes that living by these fruits means relinquishing personal efforts and fully depending on Christ's inherent power and presence.
"When we say, in Him, I can do it, in Christ, I can do it. What we just did, we became a participant in what was impossible made possible."
— Nancy Dufresne [07:55]
Nancy encourages listeners to internalize these truths, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide and empower them daily. She underscores that true spiritual victory and growth are attainable through this intimate and dynamic relationship with Christ.
