There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now.

Welcome. We're so glad to have you with us today for Jesus the Healer. We have been on a series that we want you to go back and watch any previous episodes that you might have missed, because, oh, we've said so much, and we just believe it'll be a blessing to you because the Word always blesses you, doesn't it? Amen. We're on a series that I'm titling in Christ. We can do it, and we just have to renew our minds further and further to what belongs to us in Christ. We have been using as our starting point in this series a testimony that Brother Copeland gave. And he was preaching recently and telling again the story of how in the 1970s, God spoke to him as a young minister. He was just learning the truths of prosperity, learning to hear from God, move with God. And God spoke to him and said, I want you to give $50,000 to Kenneth Hagin's ministry. And so the answer that Brother Copeland gave God that day was this. He said, in Christ I have it, and in Christ I can give it meaning. This in my finances, in my checking account, I might not have it, but in Christ I have it. So I saw in a moment of time, anything we try to do outside of Christ will fail. But if we'll do it in him, what's that mean, to do it in Him? Depending on him, yielding to him, obeying him, involving him. He intends to fulfill everything that he tells us to do. All he needs us to do is say yes so that he can perform it through us. Amen. Now, doesn't that just take all the struggle out of it when you realize I'm not the one performing it? He's going to perform it if I'll just cooperate with him. And so we've been talking about what it means to be in Christ. And how to let him work through us that we have. If I could say this, the mental habit of first thinking in Christ, I can. Instead of thinking what's in my checking account? Or how can I do that? Or going, and if I could say this, getting counsel from someone else before we answer God, well, we need to get counsel with who we are in Christ, and we need to answer based on that. And so we're just talking about some of these things. Because God, there's a call on your life and there's a plan for your life. And God never intended for you to fulfill that with your own abilities, your own education. There's nothing wrong with being educated. But don't depend on it because he gives you something greater to depend on, and that's Himself. He intends to fulfill everything he commands of your life with his own ability, his grace flowing through you. Amen. And when you answer God that way, we quit struggling mentally trying to figure out how are we going to make that happen. We're not going to make it happen. We're going to lean on the one who performs it and we're going to allow him to work unhindered. Can I tell you this? Wrong thinking hinders his performance of His Word. If we think wrong, then we close the door to God. But if we think right, we open the door to Him. If we think wrong, that's thinking. We've got to do it right. Thinking is Christ is going to do it through me. Amen. So we have to give ourself that renewed thought so that when God commands something of us, we just answer, just like Brother Copeland did. In Christ I have it, and in Christ I can give it, or in Christ I can do it. Amen. What's that mean? With his ability working through me? Listen, just as the devil needs somebody to work through, God needs somebody to work through. And that's you and me. Amen. And so we've been talking about some of these things and we. One of the things we've been focusing on is when we say in Christ, what? How do we put Christ to work for us through us? Well, we obey Him. Whatever he tells us to do, we just do it. And when we do it, then he's able to perform what we obey him in. If we don't, we can't just sit back and think he's going to do it apart from us, what's the word say? We're co laborers with God. He's the laborer and we're the co laborer, coming alongside his labor Jesus said, my Father in me, he does the works. What's that mean? God's the laborer of this thing. He's the performer, but I'm the co laborer. I just show up to be available to let him manifest through me. And then he turns around and, and he rewards the co laborer for the labor he did. It's amazing system, right? And so we have to just make sure we hear from him what he's telling us to do, and we obey that and that's how we put him to work when we respond to him through our obedience. Amen. Years ago, my husband, now this, this experience happened before we met and married, but my husband pastored a chur prior to the time that we met. And he pastored a church in Southern California. It's a different one than we pastor now, but God told him when he was that young pastor of that church that he had a certain building for him. And so they got that building and the way they set up to purchase it was with a lease option to, to purchase it. And that means they were going to lease it for a while. And then after a time they would put down a larger chunk of money that would entitle them to purchase the building. I don't know if I've got all the legal terminology right, but it's something of that effect. And so they agreed. They would lease the building for a year, and then at the end of a year, they would come up with $126,000 that would allow them to pick up the option to purchase the. Well, when they first acquired the building, it was worth a half a million dollars. Now this was in the 1970s, so that was, that was of a good value. But in Southern California, there was a spike that happened in property values. So that building no longer was worth half a million. It had doubled in value in a year. And so the owner of the building did not want my husband and that church to pick up the option to purchase it because he wanted now to put it on the market and sell it for a million instead of half a million dollars. So my husband and the congregation, they had been making the monthly payments, but at the end of the year they needed $126,000. So they had been receiving offerings all along the way to set aside for that $126,000. And all that had been given was $10,000. So they were about two months away from needing to have that $126,000. My husband was invited to preach at a convention in another city and so he was in his hotel room one morning getting ready to go preach, a morning meeting in a conference. And God spoke to him and said, I don't want you to go to that meeting this morning. I want you to stay in the. To speak to you. And he said, you taught. You have such and such. And he named another preacher who was there. You sent him to go do the service. So my husband did what God said, and he stayed in the hotel room. And so my husband was dressed, ready to go to the meeting, but God told him not to go. And so while my husband was in the hotel room that morning, he heard the door open. To the hotel room back then is when they had real keys. It wasn't just a card. It was literally a metal key. And so, you know, they would have one or two of those keys. They would hand out one of those. And my husband had traveled much during that time, and he knew that sometimes there would be a mistake made at the front desk, and they would rent out the room or assign the room to someone else mistakenly. And you were already in the room. And so he turned around when he heard the door open, thinking that someone else had been given the room by mistake. And he turned around to see who it was, and there was no person standing there. There were two angels standing there. And he said, the ceiling of that hotel room disappeared. And he said the angels were far taller than the ceiling in that room, and their heads went up above where the ceiling would have been. And those angels had on armor. And when he turned around and saw them, and the angels spoke to him and said, we have been sent from the throne room of heaven to straighten out your finances. That's pretty good. Heaven knows how to straighten out some stuff, right? And so they said those words, we've been sent from the throne room of heaven to straighten out your finances. And then they just stood there. And then Ed just looked at them, and he said to them, well, what are you waiting on? You know, just like, I don't know what you're wanting me to do next. And they said, we're waiting on the faith command. Well, the book of Psalms tells us that the angels hearken to the word of God. That doesn't just mean the word out of God's mouth. It means God's word in your mouth. And so they said, we're waiting on the faith command. Listen, we don't want our angels waiting on us to say something. We want to put them into action. And so my husband quoted Philippians 4:19. He said, My God shall supply all my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. So go and cause the money to come. And when he said that word, they disappeared. Why? Because the Word was their assignment. Once they got their assignment, then they were ready to go. Remember when the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and he said he unveiled the plan of the Savior being born through her. And when she gave her agreement, she said, so be it done unto me according to thy word. And the angel disappeared. Notice this. The angel didn't come and say, this is what's going to happen regardless of what you want. No, God doesn't move that way. Heaven doesn't move that way. Heaven has to have our agreement. And as one in Christ, it's our job to give our agreement to the one who will work through us. And so. So whenever Mary made that statement, the angel disappeared and was able to fulfill what God's plan was. Well, it was the same thing that day with my husband. Whenever he gave the word, then he gave the angels permission to work in his behalf. And so the angels disappeared. And that was the last experience he had with them during that time. As I said, that was about two months before the money was due. And so he was about several weeks before the money was due. He had 126 businessmen in his congregation that asked to meet with him. And so they gathered together and they proposed something to him. And this was their proposal as businessmen. We will all chip in $1,000 and we will own the building, and you will rent the building from us. And that would have been the $126,000. Well, what that showed me was the money was in the church. It was there, but they had a different strategy with it. Rather than sowing it, they wanted to own it. And so Ed heard their offer and he said, let me go pray about it now. When Ed had approached the owner of the building and asked for an extension because it was due, as I said, at the end of a year, he saw that it's possible that they wouldn't have that money together by then. He asked for an extension from the owner, but the owner did not give him an extension because he wanted him to falter on that. Why he wants to sell it for twice the amount. So in fact, the owner was hopeful that he would not meet that deadline. So my husband goes back to God after the meeting with the businessman and said, God, he said, this is what these men have proposed. What do you say about it? And God said to him, you're having difficulties with one landlord right now. What are you going to do with 126 landlords? In other words, this is not to your benefit. And so he knew he could not go that route. Listen, just because something looks like relief, don't ever accept relief when God intends you have victory. Relief does not equal victory. And so my husband declined their offer. Now, I believe it would have been best for them to sow it, because just think how God would have blessed their businesses. But they didn't sow it. And God always has someone who will obey him. And so after Ed declined that, it was two days before the money was due. Can you think about the pressure that could come to the mind? You got to resist pressure. I don't care what pressure is offered. You put that pressure on the word. Don't ever take it in. Just go back to what the word says. You have to tell pressure what God said. God told them that was their building. Tell your need what God said to you. That's why it's important that you know what God is saying to you, because that is Christ supply to you in the face of opposition. And so two days before the money's due, if they don't come up with that money, they're going to lose all the money they put in it, and they'll have to even, you know, vacate that building and start all over again. And so my husband called for his attorney, and he said, would you go through our contract on this building and just see if there's any wording in there that would help us to buy an extension? So Ed and the lawyer were in my husband's office that day, and the lawyer had gone through all the paperwork. And he said, there's no way that this. The wording of this contract would give you an extension. He said, there's just no way to extend that. And so while they were meeting, my husband's secretary chimed into his office and said, pastor Dufresne, there's a man out here who wants to talk to you about the building. Well, my husband assumed that it was the owner because the owner was kind of chomping at the bit. He was, if I could say this, looking for them not to meet the deadline. So Ed thought it was the owner. And he said to the lawyer, he said, why don't you go out and meet with him? So the lawyer goes out of the room, and a few minutes later he comes back and he said, well, it's not the owner, but it's somebody I think you ought to meet with. So Ed goes out to meet with the man who's waiting for him outside his office. And the man starts the conversation with my husband this way. He said, I don't go to your church. I go to a church down the road, but I have visited your church. And he said, and I don't like your preaching. And my husband thought, I don't need this today. You know, on top of everything else, I don't need this today. And so this man said, I've been to your church. I don't like your preaching. Then he told him why he didn't like it. He said, you scare me. He said, my pastor stands behind the pulpit. You go all over the room. So he was not used to somebody who didn't stay behind the pulpit. And so he said, I don't like your preaching because you scare me. My pastor stands behind the pulpit. You don't. You go all over the room. He said, but there's been two fellows in my bedroom, and they've been telling me to bring you the money of $126,000. And here's a cashier's check. And this man brought him $126,000, not even part of the congregation. Now, know this. God would have rather first bless the congregation, but. But God always has another avenue. And so this man received the blessing. So they were able to secure the purchase for that building. Now, they owe $374,000 to pay off the building, but they don't have to pay it off right now. They're assured of the purchase. So the very next Sunday, they're celebrating what God had done. And they. It had just so happened that my husband had scheduled a guest minister for that. That following Sunday morning. So this guest minister gets up and starts off the service. And with his portion of the service, he pointed back to the very back of the sanctuary, and he said, that man back there standing along the back wall, come up here and obey God. Well, my husband's sitting on the front row, and he doesn't know who the guest minister's talking to. He turns around to see who it is, and it's the man who had brought in that Cashier's check for $126,000. So my husband's trying to get the attention of the guest minister, and he's whispering and saying, he already did obey God. But this guest minister knew that God was dealing with him. And so he said, no. He said, you come. And he didn't know that this was the man who had paid it off. And so the guest minister, still talking to that man on the back wall. And he said, come up here and obey God. So this man walks up from the back, he takes the microphone, and he said this. He said, well, those two fellows are back in my room, and they told me to bring $374,000 to pay off this building. And he said, give me a couple days and I'll have it to you. And he did. He brought in the money to pay it off. Now, my husband said to God, after that, he said, God, he said, all I was believing you for was that $126,000. It's like that's all his faith could lay hold of at that moment. And he said, but you went above and beyond and paid off the building. He said, I never asked you to do that. I appreciate that you did it, but what is it that caused you to do that? And he. This is what God said to him. He said, just because you wouldn't compromise with those 126 businessmen, why God did not want him to compromise and settle for something less? Because God had the payoff in mind. God did not have just the 126. He had the payoff in mind. And the devil was offering through these men something less. Listen, the devil will always offer you a decoy. Hold out for God's best. How do you know what's God's best? You have to follow the Spirit. And so they were able to secure that building. How many of you know the angels were involved in the payoff? When you're in Christ and Christ in you, you have everything available to you that Christ has available to him, and that involves divine, angelic help. You have an angel in Christ that will minister to you. The plan of God, what is it the Word tells us in Hebrews, chapter 1, verse 14? Are these not ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who are heirs of salvation? That's what those two angels came into my husband's hotel room to. To be sent forth. Amen. To minister. And every single one of us have an angel to assist us in fulfilling the plan of God. That's part of what belongs to us in Christ. Amen. Don't leave them out of the equation. Amen. We don't worship angels. We don't pray to angels. We don't seek to see angels. But we know this. They are part of heaven's supply for our life. And they will cooperate to bring in the supply that the plan of God is funded with. And my husband, about six months before he went home to be with the Lord, God spoke to Him. And he said, if you will talk more about those angels, that paid off, those buildings, that building, he said, they'll do more of it. What I saw in that was what we rehearse, God repeats. So although my husband went home to be with the Lord, I said this. If I'll talk about it, God will repeat that. That's why I'm telling you. It's because I'm giving those angels permission. Do it again. Whatever God the way, if you'll learn this, God has patterns in how he works in our lives. If you'll learn the pattern, then you'll learn how to give access to God. If you look at the life of Mary and Joseph, that how many times an angel appeared to Joseph and gave him direction, told him to go into Egypt, told him when to come out of Egypt, told Joseph that meant go ahead and marry Mary, because this is the plan. So there was a pattern of an angel appearing to him. I'm not talking about praying for an angel to appear to you. I'm talking about learn the pattern of how God deals with you. I've learned this. I got saved in my car. I was filled with the Holy Ghost in my car. God told me I was going to marry my husband in my car. God told me that we would move to California from Oklahoma when I was in my car. You know what I do when I need to hear from God? I go get in my car. I can't make him talk in my car, but I can certainly put myself in the setting where the pattern is that he talks to me. Amen. Learn how God deals with you, and then you can set yourself in that place to where you can hear from him by making it conducive. Amen. And so when God said to my husband, and if you'll talk more about those angels, it gives them permission to do more of it. That's why I talk about it, because we need divine help. That's what belongs to us in Christ. So when we say in Christ, we can do it. Everything that Christ has available to him, we have available to us. Remember what, before Jesus, when he was arrested, remember what he said? He said I could call for a host of angels and they would get me out of this. Basically, that's what he was saying. Well, we have available to us a host of angelic beings to help assist us in the plan of God. Amen. Well, I trust you've been blessed in this series. We have so loved sharing this with you. In this episode, Nancy Dufresne continues her teaching series “In Christ I Can,” with Part 15 focusing on the practical and supernatural realities of living “in Christ.” The discussion centers on learning to rely on God’s power and supply instead of human resources, renewing the mind to what belongs to us in Christ, and recognizing the vital role of obedience, faith, and even angelic help in God’s provision. The episode features personal and ministry testimonies—especially a remarkable account involving angelic intervention and miraculous church provision—to illustrate these spiritual truths.
Nancy Dufresne’s message is a faith-filled encouragement to live from the reality of what Christ has purchased for every believer—provision, power, supernatural help, and more. She urges listeners to renew their minds, obey God’s promptings, recognize spiritual patterns, refuse to compromise, and boldly speak the Word, thereby releasing heaven’s resources—including angelic assistance—for every assignment and need.
Key Takeaway:
Everything available to Christ—healing, provision, and miraculous assistance—is available to believers in Him, contingent on faith, obedience, and spiritual partnership.
