There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now.

I receive it right now.

Welcome. We're so glad you're joining us today for Jesus the healer. And it is such an honor to spend this time with you. And not only that, to fill this time with the Word. And the Word is life to us. And what God says changes everything about our life. And so we're so grateful to be able to open these truths up with you and feast on the Word together. So thank you for your hunger for the word of God. And we invite you get something to take notes with, because we're expecting for you to hear answers for your life, for your family, for. For your home. And how about this for your future? Amen. And so just follow along with us. And just if I could say this purpose now. Whatever we're fed today of the Word, we're going to be doers of that word. Amen. It's the doer that's blessed. You know, Jesus was preaching in the temple one day, and he was revealing things about how the kingdom of darkness operated. And these were truths that no one had ever heard before. This is the first time Earth is hearing this. And he talks about that when an evil spirit is cast out of someone that it goes in dry places seeking rest and can find none. So he comes back and he tries to, through a counterattack, try to take again the place that he used to be in. And these are things that Earth had not heard about before of how the kingdom of darkness operated. So Jesus is really revealing something by the Spirit for the first time. And right in the midst of that, a woman stands up and she's got motherly ears, and she says, basically, oh, blessed is your mother, the one that raised you, you know, and the one that nursed you. And it's like a totally different direction of what Jesus was bringing to the people. And she was. She was listening as a mother and she was no doubt thinking, how proud or how pleased your mother must be with you. And Jesus said this. He, when she said, blessed is the woman who nursed you, he said, rather, blessed are those who hear my word and do them. Now notice this. He said that the doer of the word is more blessed than the woman who gave birth to him. Think of that. What weight that adds to being a doer of the Word. And she brought it into the natural. And he put it right back into the truth of what this Word would do for someone. Don't just be a hearer, be a doer. So decide today. Let's not. If I could say this, when we're hearing the Word preach, let's hear what the Spirit is endeavoring to get over to us. That woman, bless her heart, she was in the service, but she was missing the main point. And I want us to always hear the main point of what the Spirit of God is saying to us in these episodes. And you know, that can sound different for different people based on what their need is. Sometimes someone who's facing a physical need may hear it one way. Someone who's facing a financial need, we'll hear it another way. But just have ears to hear. Because the Spirit of God will drive home the truth of God's Word to your life so that you receive his divine help. How many of you know the Holy Spirit is our helper? Thank God for that. And we need help to hear, right? You know, I remember when we were growing up, Mother would say things like this to us, do you have your ears on? Because you know, she's talking, we're not even responding. And she'd say, do you have your ears on? And we have to have the right ear open. Amen. Not just these outer ears, but the ear of our Spirit to hear what the Spirit is saying and perceive what he's stocking the shelves of our Spirit with. Because we need these truths not just for today, but for the future. And so we purpose to not just be hearers, but to be doers. But it does begin with hearing. And we're so grateful that we get to hear His Word. Amen. We have been teaching along the line of in Christ. And we're looking in the next coming episodes to finalize some of these teachings. But my goodness, there's so much to know and so much that belongs to us because we're in Christ. We really can only scratch the surface in our time with you. So we invite you go on our website@jesusthehealer.org and you can download. We have two different documents for you. One of them is an abbreviated list of in Him Scriptures. I don't know, there's maybe 20 or 30 scriptures in here. Some of the foremost scriptures that tell us who we are in Christ and who Christ is in us. And then we had the complete listing of about, I don't know, maybe 120, 130, 140 Scriptures there. And they're all, they're all typed out for you, ready to print out. So free of charge, just go and get those, feed on them, meditate on them. Because who we are in Christ is so central to living the life that God authored for us. Amen. We've been using the scripture we've been using as if we could say it. A keynote scripture for this series is found in Colossians, chapter two and verse six. And I so appreciate how the living Bible reads in this because it makes it so clear to us. And it reads. And now, just as you trusted Christ to save, you trust him too, for each day's problems. So notice this. Christ is not just for a Sunday situation. Who we are in Christ and who he is in us is for every day. So if we have not drawn on or acknowledged him on a particular day, then that's the day he could not perform for us. You know, one thing about the Holy Spirit, He's a performer. And when we speak the Word, we are giving him something to perform. If we go a day without speaking the Word, then He has to go a day without performing the Word. And so he can only perform in our lives what we give him permission for. Listen, the honor of God is so. If I could say this, it is so excellent that he will never move uninvited because he will not violate our will. So what we have to do is not just approach God as though, well, he knows what I need. Why doesn't he just supply it? Well, he does know. But just because he knows doesn't mean he has our permission to move in our behalf. And the depth of his honor will not let him violate divine etiquette. And there is a spiritual etiquette. He will not violate the will of man. Do you know, God knows that every human walking needs to receive Jesus as Savior, but he doesn't force any one of them to do it.
A
That's right.
B
Even though he knows they need it. But listen, it's our privilege to go tell people, hey, you need a Savior and you have one. All you have to do is receive the Savior that's been provided. But Even though God knows every man needs a savior, all he could do is provide one. He could not. He cannot make them accept one. Why is that? His honor runs so deep. He will not violate someone's will. And what's that mean? That puts the responsibility on us. To ask and invite in Christ means this. We have to invite every flow of who Christ is to us into our life. He belongs to us, we belong to Him. But the movement of all he is to us, we have to acknowledge and we have to give place to. I don't know if you understand what I mean by that, but, you know, too many times we just. We kind of approach God as He's all knowing. He is all knowing. Absolutely. But just because he knows something doesn't mean he has our permission. Remember Jesus made the statement when he was on the earth, he said, my Father knows. Our Father knows what you have need of. Look at this. Even before you ask. So he says he knows what you have need of even before we ask. What's that mean? We're not dismissed from asking. His knowledge will not take the place of our asking. And sometimes we just assume because he knows. Why doesn't he meet the need? Because we didn't ask. What is asking what is. If I could say this, approaching him, it's the release of faith. And it's our faith that opens the door to him to move in our lives. And so it's so critical that we ask if something is not being supplied in our life, have we properly opened the door to God to move in that way? I have found this out. I tend. You know, we. All our own temperaments, the way we operate or function or process something. I'm not a very. If I could say this. Well, let me just say it this way. I'm more internal on how I handle things. I mean, when my husband. My husband has gone home to be with the Lord. But even through our almost 30 years of marriage, there was much I didn't discuss with him about. I'm talking about my spiritual. My spiritual growth and development. I didn't ask Him a lot of questions. I mean, he was. He was certainly a senior in his spiritual development. He was far more advanced than I was. But when I came up to something spiritually that I was working on, there were many times he never even knew it. Why? Because I just took that to me and God. But then I would realize that sometimes I'm thinking about it more than I'm talking to God about it. Now, that's where we miss it sometimes, is we Think because we're thinking about it that that is God's invitation to work on it. And that's not true. We have to verbalize a request. We have to verbalize our faith. We have to verbalize what we know about the Word. Let me just put this example in front of you. When a husband and wife are having maybe some. They're not on the same page about a certain aspect of their life or their marriage or a project that they're dealing with, if we're not careful, sometimes people can think, well, why doesn't he know that? Or why doesn't she know that? And we kind of expect our spouse to be a mind reader. And that is completely unfair. And then we cop an attitude because they did not do what we thought they should have known. And we expect them to know what we've not even stated. And that's completely unfair. Now, on the other hand, God knows what we haven't stated, but we think because he knows it, we expect him to do. Just like we expect that spouse to move. Even though that spouse was not properly communicated to, we have to still properly communicate to God. Amen. And if we're not careful, listen, we can practice running to people, turning to people, leaning on people instead of leaning on the Christ in us. Sometimes we think because we discussed it with multiple people that God had an invitation to move. That's still not. When you ask people for input on maybe something you're facing, that's still not asking God for His involvement. And can I say this? Learn to lean on people less and less and less. Why? Because they are not God. God is. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. People aren't. And then when we start leaning on people and they don't come through for us the way we thought they should, then we get a offended when we get offended with them. But the problem was we ever leaned on them to begin with. Amen. We're not. No one is our Savior except Jesus. And we don't treat someone as the Savior. So many times we think that because we talked to people about it, God knew that we wanted him involved. And that's not true. We have to properly ask. James says, you have not because you ask. Not just conversing with someone is not asking God for His help. And people think because it's foremost in their thinking that God would automatically move. No, he won't. He has to be involved through our invitation. Now there again, Christ is in us. But Christ will not automatically move without us responding to Him. Amen. We have to Respond to him. We have to open the door to his ability, his grace, all he is to come into manifestation on our behalf. Don't assume that who we are in Christ will manifest automatically. Who we are in Christ will flow when we put a demand on our covenant, when we put a demand on who he is by responding to him, acknowledging him, and obeying Him. Amen. So who we are in Christ does not come to the forefront until we put it at the forefront. Amen. Till we put a demand on it. What's it say over there in James? James, chapter five. It says, is any sick among you? Let him pray. Notice this. Is any or is any afflicted? What's that mean? Is any going through a test or trial? That's the wording. Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Yeah. Thank you. They put it on the screen for me. James 5:14. Is any sick among. No, go to the previous one. There's a previous verse. Verse 13. Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Notice it doesn't say, let him find someone to talk to about. It doesn't say, let him call a family member. Let him pray. What's prayer? Prayer is talking to God. Is any among you afflicted? That is not speaking about sickness and disease in that word afflicted. It's talking about, is any going through a test or trial? Let him pray. Let's. Let's quote it this way. Is any among you going through a test or trial? Let him talk to God about it. Amen. That's exactly what we're instructed to. Instructed of in James. Talk to God about it. Talk to God about it. Talk to God. Why is he telling us talk to God? Because so much of the time we automatically go to talking to people and we have to be reminded. Talk to God. Why employ who we are in Christ and who he is in us when we're facing a test or trial? Amen. Is any of you going through a test or trial? Don't run to the flesh first. Run to heaven first. Turn to divine help. Go ahead and put that back on the screen for me, if you would. That scripture, James 5:13. Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. What's that mean? Let him get God involved. Yes, let him talk to God. Get God involved. Who you're talking to is who you're involving. Come on. And too many times we're just involving a spouse, and then they are not the Savior. Things don't turn out right, and then there's sometimes conflict because they were not able to be to us who we thought they should be to us. And that's unfair. That's why James reminds us, involve God. When you involve God, you involved heaven. When you involved God, you involved divine wisdom. When you talked to God about it, you talked to divine help. Thank you, Lord. You talked to the source of where all help comes from. So train yourself. When you're faced with a need to turn to who you are in Christ, employ him. Draw on that divine flow, that divine life, that divine one on the inside of you instead of drawing on people that will always keep you spiritually weakened. That your first response is to turn out here, turn in here toward Christ in you. And then how do you turn toward Christ? And you talk to him. Amen. Involve him. Let him know I'm leaning on you, I'm looking to you, I'm responding to you, I'm obeying you. And that's how you put Christ in you to work for you. Amen. You have to intentionally involve him. Include him. Don't just assume. Well, he knows I'm going through this. Yes, he knows you're going through a test or trial, but that's not his permission to help you. Amen. He has to be. The door has to be opened to him by you, by how you involve him. And you know how far he can get involved is how far you involve him. Sometimes people will involve him in a measure, but not fully. And he can only help them to the length and to the degree that they will involve him. Sometimes people will involve him one day in a situation they're facing and leave him out the next day because they didn't even think about him or didn't even acknowledge his role that day. So some days we're better at involving him than we are at other days. So let's practice. Wait a minute. Let's not go out here first. Let's turn toward him who's in us. Amen. The one who's the same yesterday, today, and forever. So because we are God filled, we have to have habits that involve God first rather than people first. What about this? What about not even turning to your emotions first? Hmm. That's a big one, right? So many people, they have, they have practiced going to that mental arena, the emotional arena first, and then they start responding to what they're faced with based on their emotions. That's a bad habit. Why? Because God did not give you your emotions to lead you. And if you go to them first, who you involve first is who's leading you. If you Involve your emotions first. Your emotions are leading you. You involve people first. People are leading you. You involve feelings. Your feelings are leading you. You involve your spirit first. Your spirit leads you. Amen. So where you turn, that's what's going to lead you. Now, if you would go ahead and show me. Put that verse up on the screen there. In James 5:13, again, is any among you afflicted? Let him pray, or let him talk to God about it? Isn't that something that this. This we have to be told specifically, you're going through something. Pray, pray, pray. Why? Because people don't turn this way as a. Until they've trained themselves spiritually. They automatically go this way out here. Now look at the next phrase. Is any. Mary, let him sing psalms. Now notice this. So he says, is any among you going through a test or trial? We're not told in this passage. Call the prayer team. Nothing wrong with asking people for prayer, but that should not be your first direction. Is any among you afflicted? Let him talk to God about it. Let him talk to God. Let him talk to God. The longer we take to talk to God about it, the longer it takes before we hear our answer. We're delaying our help when we delay involving him. And there's. Listen, there is the prayer of agreement. It's perfectly scriptural. But in this situation, James 5:13, it says, is any among you afflicted going through a test or trial? It does not say, call somebody and ask them to pray for you. Why is that? People who love you, people who know you, they care about you, but they're not going to feel what you're feeling when you're the one going through a test or trial. And because it's not happening to them personally, they will handle it differently than you will because it's happening to you personally. So if I could say this, if they're going to pray in your behalf, they're not going to pray near as earnestly about it as you would because you're facing it right. Don't turn your help in prayer over to someone else to lay hold of. They're not the one going through the test. You can pray and talk to God about it with a whole, a whole nother level of expectation because you're the one facing it personally. So don't turn your situation to someone else's prayer life. Put it in your own prayer life, your own communication with God. Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray now. I think that it's so almost. I don't even Want to use the word comical but amusing that the next phrase is any Mary? Let him sing psalms. Now you say, why? Look at these two things together. Is any Mary? If I were to say to someone here in the studio audience, you know, I was believing God for the payoff of a bill, and a miracle showed up and paid off that bill, and I'm so happy about that, would you sing psalms for me? Would you rejoice for me? Would you tell God how joyful I am? And then I look downcast? You know, I'm so joyful. Would you rejoice for me? See these that are in the room? We chuckle. Why? Because it makes no sense that when you're joyful, you rejoice. When you're Mary, you're the one that demonstrates that. Now, in light of that, go back to the first phrase. Is any among you afflicted? Why would you say we don't say I'm joyful. Would you sing I'm going through a test or trial. Would you pray? Doesn't make sense. Wrong direction. Amen. He's saying this no more than you would ask someone to sing because you're married. Don't ask someone to pray because you're going through a test or trial. You're the one that's joyful. You sing, right? You're the one going through a test, trial. You pray. You involve Christ in you. No one else can activate Christ who is in me on my behalf. I'm the only who can activate his movement and his involvement. Someone else cannot activate who is in me like I can. Does that make sense? And this is where some people miss it. They are. If I could say this, they're going too much to the middleman and in Christ. The middleman's removed when we are invited in Hebrews, chapter 4, verse 16. Come boldly to the throne of grace. Look at this. You don't have to go ask your friend to pray for you. You don't have to ask even your pastor to pray for you. It's not wrong. But always don't make that your first direction of action. Turn toward Christ in you. Employ who is in you. When you're faced with a need, put the greater one to work for you. And don't assume that just because you're facing a need he will automatically go into action. He will not. He has to be invited. And the door has to be opened to him by us responding in faith. Amen. Amen. So when you're faced with something, automatically say, I involved him. Christ is in me. To put me over in the face of this. So Christ, I draw on you right now. I draw on that ability. I draw on the anointing that's in him, that's in me. Amen. Well, we're learning what it means to be in Christ, right? That we have a responsibility to employ that divine life and not just assume that it will flow automatically. We have to employ and draw on that divine life. Well, we're going to keep going this direction and you don't want to miss it. And until next time, remember this Jesus is the Healer. God bless you.

Episode 796 | "In Christ I Can," Part 36
Release Date: July 21, 2025
Host: Nancy Dufresne
This episode continues Nancy Dufresne’s teaching series on the believer’s identity and inheritance “in Christ,” with a strong emphasis on personally and intentionally engaging with the power and provision available through Jesus. The focus is on training the listener not just to hear God’s Word, but to be active doers—especially in drawing on Christ for help in every area of life rather than relying on people, emotions, or passive expectation. Drawing from Colossians 2:6, Nancy encourages listeners to walk daily in the fullness of Christ, highlighting the necessity of personal faith and invitation for God’s intervention.
“Power is present. That power is there to do a work... Say, I receive that power. I receive it right now.”
“He said that the doer of the Word is more blessed than the woman who gave birth to Him. Think of that.”
“Just have ears to hear. Because the Spirit of God will drive home the truth of God’s Word to your life so that you receive his divine help.”
“His honor runs so deep. He will not violate someone’s will. What’s that mean? That puts the responsibility on us.”
“We think because we’re thinking about it—that is God’s invitation to work on it. And that’s not true. We have to verbalize a request.”
“Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. What’s prayer? Prayer is talking to God... Talk to God about it. Why? Because so much of the time we automatically go to talking to people.”
“Who you involve first is who’s leading you.”
“In Christ, the middleman is removed…When you’re faced with a need, put the greater one to work for you.”
“There’s enough power in every sick room…and I want to remind you, power is present.”
(Nancy Dufresne [B])
