There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now.

I receive it right now.

It.

It tastes good. The Word is good. The Word says, taste and see that the Lord is good. And I tell you, the more we feed on the Word, the better we see how good God is to us. He is so good to us. And we're just enjoying the truths and discovering what belongs to us because we belong to Christ and because Christ is in us, we're in him. And what that means for our daily life. We were talking on the previous episode about establishing through meditation on the Word who we are in Christ, in our inner man, into our spirit. Because it's when you get the Word in you that it will produce, it's have its greatest production in your life. Amen. You can't just have a mental grasp on the Word. It has to take root in our hearts. And we have to get that Word planted in us. We were looking at Colossians chapter two and verse six, and I want to look at the Amplified Classic translation and Colossians 2. 6. The Amplified classic translation. Paul is writing and he says, as you have therefore received Christ, even Jesus the Lord, so walk, regulate your lives, and conduct yourselves in union with and conformity to Him. So what's he saying when he says, walk, regulate your lives? He's talking about everything, everyday life. When the Bible uses the word walk, it's talking about our manner of daily living. And so he's saying that that we're in Christ is to show up in our everyday life. And then it goes on in verse 7. How is he going to show up in our everyday life? Verse 7. Have the roots of your being firmly and deeply planted in him. What's this mean? Not shallow hold, but a Deep planting. So let the roots of your being. What being? He's talking about your spirit, ma'. Am. Firmly and deeply planted in him, fixed and founded in Him. Now, when the roots grow down deep, you are fixed. You're immovable. Circumstances can't move you. Opposition can't move you, because your root system anchors you. And we're to have our roots to grow down deep into what? Revelation in him who we are in him, who he is in us. This has to be something that our roots are firmly fixed in, that has to go down deep. And it says this. Deeply planted in him, fixed and founded in him, being continually built up in Him. And what will be the result of that becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith? See, it's going to start affecting our faith life. Because when we know who we are in him, it eliminates struggle in the faith life. And it says, just as you were taught and abounding and overflowing in it, look at this with thanksgiving. So we're to be continually thankful. Thank you, Father. Christ is in Me, I'm in Him. And because of that, all is mine. There's no struggle in that, in being in Christ, there's no struggle in Him. So therefore I'm. I'm in no flow of struggle. So we're to be thankful as we see these truths unveiled and revealed to us, because it turns us into partakers, and not simply possessors, but partakers of what we possess. Now, I want you to see. Look at verse eight. But I'm going to read verse eight out of the living Bible translation. So again, this is Colossians 2. And in verse 8, we're warned about something. In verse 8, it says in the living Bible, don't let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies. What's that mean? Not everyone is going to have these truths planted in their spirit. And so when you're planting the truths of who you are in Christ in your spirit, others are going to talk to you out of the place they're sowing to. And many are just sowing out. They're sowing to the soulish arena. And they're living their lives based on the soulish arena. The soul is the mind, the will and the emotions. They're not. They're not always establishing the same truths in them that you are. So he's saying, don't let others of what they may say to you, don't let it spoil your faith. Don't let it interrupt your joy with their philosophies. So what's this mean? When we're feeding on the Word, we have to guard who we're listening to. We have respect and value and honor for everyone. But that doesn't mean we let their voice go in. Because when we're letting the voice of the Word go in us, we can't let other voices that would compromise what we're hearing of the Word go in as well. So he said he was warning us, don't let others spoil your faith and joy. Can others spoil your faith? Can they spoil your joy? Listen, when you're believing God for a miracle, you better know who to talk to. You better know who not to talk to. You know, you can love people, love those who are close to you, but that doesn't mean that they are on the same page with their faith. And so someone can love you and mean well when they're. When they're speaking to you, but sometimes it can disturb your faith by listening to others who don't know what God is showing you. I want to give you an example. Years ago, as I said, I pastored for 25 years in Southern California. And there was a family in our church, a precious family. But not all their family members came, but most of them, and there was one of their relatives that came for a short time, and he went out, he left the church, really walked away from his fellowship with the Lord and went into a lifestyle that was against the Word. And when he came back to our church several years later, he now, as a result of the lifestyle he had chosen, it had opened the door to all kinds of sickness on him. And he had multiple terminal things happening. At one time, he had tuberculosis, he had cancer. There were multiple things wrong with him. And he came back to the church, he repented before God, and my husband ministered to him. And there was a strong healing anointing on my husband. And so this was at a Friday night miracle service. And when this man, he was only in his mid-30s, and they brought him in in a wheelchair, he was on an oxygen tank, he had not eaten solid food in a long time. So, I mean, he. His body was really in the final stages of life and of that sickness was. Had. Had. Had really advanced. And there were multiple things wrong with him. Well, in that service, my husband laid hands on him and that a healing anointing went into him. And he automatically, you could already tell almost instantly, everything about his carriage changed, his countenance changed. You could see that life was imparted to him through that healing anointing. And so My husband said to him, come back Sunday and testify to this congregation what God is doing in your body. And so he said, I will. Well, he went home and by the time he had advanced to this condition, they had a live in nurse with him at the house because the family couldn't take care of his medical needs and his physical needs. So there was a nurse that lived full time there taking care of him. And he went home that night. He got off the oxygen tank, he was able to eat solid food for the first time. He did not need to be in the wheelchair. He was up and walking. I mean, it was a dramatic turnaround and dramatic change. What was it? Christ in him was now getting his way through him and it was manifesting in this miracle flow. But my husband had said to him, come back Sunday and testify. Do you know, that wasn't just what my husband said, that was what the Holy Ghost said to him through my husband. And he did not recognize it as God saying it. Evidently he just treated it like a man was talking to him. And so he went home that Friday night. It looked like a complete turnaround. And he told his family on Sunday, said, I'm going to go to church and I'm going to testify and let people know what God's done for me and his family. There were family members that said to him, don't you know that the doctor said that if you go out you could catch pneumonia? Well, let me say this, let me check the thought life here. If you've got cancer, if you've got tuberculosis and these are advanced in their stages in your body, what is the threat of pneumonia to you? It's, it's a lost argument. And he listened to them. And he did not come back that Sunday. And from that day forward he went back to the wheelchair, back to being on a feeding tube. And about two weeks later, I performed his funeral. Why was that? He did not do what verse eight warns us about. Don't let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies. Those people that were around him loved him, but they didn't know the right words for his life. People can love you, but that doesn't mean they have God's word in their mouth for you. And you must learn. Who do I listen to? And just because you love someone does not mean that they should have a voice into your situation. You have. When you're believing God for a miracle, you don't have room for anything except what God says. You cannot mix what God says with what people say and think you're going to arrive at your miracle. You have to weed out the human reasoning, even of your own mind and of the words of people that love you. Just because they love you because does not mean they believe right. Just because they love you does not mean that they have God's answer in their mouth for you. So when you're establishing yourself in Christ, when you're establishing who you are in him, who he is in us, and what he will do for you and through you, you cannot take the words of people who are not hearing what you're hearing because they will. Their words can uproot and disturb the faith that God is sowing into you. So what's this mean? Guard your hearing. Be careful. Jesus made this statement in the Book of Mark in the amplified translation says it this way. Be careful what you are hearing. What's he talking about? Be careful what you listen to. Just because you love someone doesn't mean they have the right words for you. And just because they love you and you love them, you still have to go, what's God saying in this situation? So many times people have been talked out of their healing, their miracle, and God's movement in their life because they listened to people who loved them instead of people who knew what God was saying. And so I'm not saying don't listen to people who love you if they love you, but they have to have God's word in their mouth for you. When you're believing God for a miracle, you better know who to share that with and who not to share that with, who to draw on and who not to draw on. You have to know who knows how to believe God, who knows how to talk faith to me instead of talking emotions to me, instead of talking sympathy to me. When we're believing God for miracles, we don't need sympathy. We need the faith words of other people to encourage us. And if we don't find it around us, then don't try to draw on it from people that are around you. And so you have to know this, that your faith can be spoiled, your joy can be spoiled, and the devil wants to upset you or uproot your progress in this, in Christ realities, in Christ truth. By putting people around you and sending words against your, against your faith, against your thought life. You know, I was talking to someone recently and God had been working miracles. They had really been in a very difficult place physically. And there was a turnaround and it was a progression. It didn't come overnight, but there was a progression of God restoring and Making things right in their body. And they had advanced really almost to full health, full recovery. But they had a family member that was saying, well, you know, I know of somebody that had that condition and they died. And I said, I encourage this person. I said, when people start doing that, say, that doesn't help me. And you have to let the devil know those words aren't coming in. We're not against the people. But you have to decide, I'm not going to sit and let people talk something that gives me words to overcome. You have to protect your hearing. If you don't, who will? And you have to protect your hearing. And you can do that kindly, you can do that honorably. But just saying, you know, that's not helping me right now. I'm feeding on what God's saying to me. And know this, that whenever you're believing God for a miracle, the devil wants to parade in front of you and in your memory all the people who didn't receive what they needed from God. But at those times, you need to parade in front of the devil. All the times God has blessed you, all the times God has answered your prayers, all the times God has moved in your life. Because if you don't put right hearing around you, the devil will put wrong hearing around you. He'll put wrong words around you, and then it just gives you something to overcome. And it's so important that when we're establishing ourselves in Christ that we guard our hearing. And just because someone loves us and we love someone doesn't mean we owe them our hearing. Now listen to that. You don't owe anyone your hearing. When you're believing God for a miracle, your hearing has to be in God's direction and in words that are in God's direction. So here again we're warned in Colossians 2, verse 8, the Living Bible. Don't let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies. What they figured out, how they think God works, how they think this, you know, what God will do or what he won't do. You go to God and let God define it. Don't let other people define God for you. Let the Word define God for you. And then it says this. Well, let me read verse eight again. Don't let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies, their wrong and shallow answers built on men's thoughts and men's ideas instead of on what Christ has said. What's this mean? We have to be particular with what we let go in recognize is this in agreement with what God said? Or is it out of agreement with what God said? Now, sometimes you can't keep people from talking to you, you know, because you don't control their mouth, but you certainly control what you let in. So when people are saying something, sometimes you can be in a group setting and there's something being said in that group setting and you recognize that's not the word and you just turn your attention away from what you're hearing and just turn toward God and start having fellowship with him and His Word. That's the best way to shut out wrong words is to just meditate on right words. And you know, you can be in a room, a room full of wrong words all going on all around you, but you can choose through meditation to turn your attention toward something that's going to build your faith, put faith in you instead of take faith out of you. I tell you, don't read books that take something out of you. I don't care how popular the author may be. If it doesn't put faith in you, put that book down and don't pick it up again. If something does put faith in you, then pick that up and feed on that. But you have to control your hearing whenever you are planting and establishing God's Word on the inside of you. Now I want to read verse 8 again of the Living Bible Translation, Colossians 2, verse 8. Don't let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies. They're wrong and shallow answers built on men's thoughts and ideas instead of on what Christ said. For in Christ, now here's God talking. For in Christ there is all of God in a human body. Can I tell you this? Not many people know that. Not many people that try to speak into your life or that have spoken into your life. Not everyone's going to know that. Don't let what they say rob you of this truth. For in Christ there is all of God in a human body. So you have everything. When you have Christ and you are filled with God through your union with Christ. Look at those words. What that doesn't just. Doesn't that just put something in you to hear that? Well, don't exchange the truth of that for someone else's philosophy who hasn't heard what you're hearing. Now, we're not unkind to people who don't know the things we're being taught. But we do have to be discerning about what we're going to listen to and what we're going to let in our life and in our home. You know, I was reading the testimony of a. Of a husband and wife that she was given a terminal condition, terminal sentence rather, and the doctors gave her not long to live. And her husband put a sign on the door of her hospital room. It says, doubt and unbelief and fear do not enter here. In other words, he decided who could visit his wife because they were believing for a miracle. And he says, I didn't care if it was relatives or just friends or anybody that just wanted to see her. If they didn't have faith in their mouth, they weren't getting in that room. Because you don't have room for anything but faith when you're believing God for a miracle. And I want you to know this. Miracles are easy to receive when you think right. Miracles are not hard. God showing up in your situation is not hard. But what's hard is trying to listen to wrong thinking and believe for miracles. So we have to weed out anything that would take faith out of us. We have to guard our hearing now. And I don't have the reference in front of me, but the Amplified classic, and it's somewhere in Mark, I want to say Mark, chapter five. But the Amplified Classic said, Jesus made this statement, be careful what you are hearing. For the measure of thought and study you give to the truth you hear will be the measure of virtue or power that comes back into you. So he's saying this, that make sure that what you're listening to will arrive you at the power of God. Because the more you listen to truth, the more you listen to what God says, the more you meditate on what God says, you're going to increase the measure of God's power flowing into your situation. But if we're listening very little to what God says, but a lot to what other people say, we're going to rob ourselves of. Of a great measure of power. So we're the ones who determine the measure of power that flows by what we choose to listen to. So this is why we guard our hearing, because we want the flow of God's power. We don't want to limit or hinder the flow of God's power through wrong thinking, wrong words. Now listen, the devil can only enter through wrong thinking, through wrong words. Wrong words come because of wrong thinking. If we straighten out our thought life and we think in line with the Word, then we'll speak in line with the Word, believe in line with the Word, and that opens the door to the power of God. When the devil wants to rob you of your answer. He wants to rob you of your miracle, rob you of your health.
A
You.
B
He tries to do it by. By bringing you wrong thinking. And if we accept wrong thinking, that's the devil's open door. But God can't work through wrong thinking. He can only work through right thinking. So this is why we have to guard our thought life. We have to guard who we listen to, what words we listen to, because that is going to affect how we think. And how we think is going to determine who the door is open to. Is it open to God, or is it open to the devil? And so the devil is after your thought life. When he wants to rob you of a miracle, he's after your thought life. So here we're warned. Don't let others spoil your faith. If it's not putting faith in you, resist it. If it's taking faith out of you, don't pick it up. Even if it's someone you have regard for. You can love someone and honor someone. But know this. Just because you love someone doesn't mean we let our guard down. We're always to guard every thought that we accept, every thought that comes to us. Because wrong thinking will rob us of God's best and God's highest. And can I tell you this? If someone robs. If they speak words that rob you of your faith, they're not the ones who are going to be struggling now. You are. You're going to be left with the struggle of accepting wrong thinking. God doesn't want us struggling. And I'm not going to accept what someone says just because they're the one speaking. I'm going to guard my faith, and we have to guard our faith. Your faith is precious. Why? Because that's how you conduct business with heaven. Faith is the currency. Heaven. Here we have American currency. In this nation, whatever nation you have, you live in. There's currency that that nation operates off of. What's the currency of heaven? It's faith. And I'm not going to let someone steal from me the wealth of heaven, the wealth of God's faith that's in me through their wrong thinking. And I'm not going to be robbed of my miracle because I listened to the wrong thing. I'm going to guard my ears because when I guard my ears, when I guard what I turn over and over in my thought life, I'm guarding my faith. And when I'm guarding my faith, now my. My faith can receive what it needs from God. Amen. Well, I want to. I want to take a moment and just pray with you. I love a prayer that Paul prayed. He said this that they would be strengthened with might in their inner man. So I pray for you that no matter what you're facing, Father, I pray for every viewer that they be strengthened with might in their inner man, because that inner man is the fountain that waters every other flow of their life. So take that strength right now. Say, father, I take your strength into my spirit. Listen, the Bible says this, that the strong spirit of a man will sustain him in bodily weakness and in pain. The Word is not telling us we have to have bodily weakness or pain, but he's letting us know that if our body is struggling, if there's pain, if there are symptoms, we have a stronger place to draw from the strong spirit of a man. So we're not just drawing on our body, we're drawing on the strength of God that's in our spirit and that will change and override what the body is feeling and what the body is experiencing experiencing. So I agree with God and I agree with you that you're strengthened with might in your inner man. And now you draw out of that might that's in your spirit. Because you're not just drawing out of your body or your mind. You have the might of God in you. Amen. Well, and until next time, remember this Jesus is the healer. God bless you.

Podcast: Jesus the Healer w/ Nancy Dufresne Audio Podcast
Episode: 867 | In Christ I Can, Part 107
Date: October 28, 2025
Host: Nancy Dufresne (Dufresne Ministries)
This episode continues Nancy Dufresne’s long-running series on "In Christ I Can," with a focus on the importance of guarding your faith and thought life—especially when believing for healing or miracles. Nancy draws from Colossians chapter 2 to teach about establishing one’s identity "in Christ," planting the Word in one’s spirit, and vigilantly protecting faith from negative or well-meaning but faithless influences. Through scriptural exposition, real-life testimonies, and practical advice, she encourages listeners to discern which voices to allow into their lives and to anchor themselves in faith-filled words for victory, healing, and the manifestation of God’s promises.
“You can't just have a mental grasp on the Word. It has to take root in our hearts.” (01:19)
“When the roots grow down deep, you are fixed. You’re immovable. Circumstances can't move you.” (02:21)
“Don't let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies.” (07:24)
“He listened to them…from that day forward he went back to the wheelchair, back to being on a feeding tube. And about two weeks later, I performed his funeral.” (13:50)
“When we're believing for miracles, we don't need sympathy. We need the faith words of other people to encourage us.” (17:42)
“I said to this person, when people start saying things like ‘I know someone who died from that,’ say, ‘That doesn't help me.’” (19:05)
“You don’t have room for anything but faith when you’re believing God for a miracle.” (21:31)
The measure of thought and study invested in God’s truth determines the measure of power received (reference to Mark, Amplified Classic).
“For the measure of thought and study you give to the truth you hear will be the measure of virtue or power that comes back into you.” (25:25)
The devil seeks access through wrong thinking and words, but God requires right thinking to work.
Faith is portrayed as the "currency of heaven":
“Faith is the currency of heaven. I'm not going to let someone steal from me the wealth of heaven…the wealth of God's faith that's in me through their wrong thinking.” (25:55)
“That they would be strengthened with might in their inner man…Father, I pray for every viewer that they be strengthened with might in their inner man, because that inner man is the fountain that waters every other flow of their life.” (26:54)
On the Power Present:
“There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one…It's present right where you're at.” (00:10–00:41)
On Being Rooted in Christ:
"Let the roots of your being…firmly and deeply planted in him, fixed and founded in Him.” (02:52)
On Guarding Your Hearing:
“When you're believing God for a miracle, you don't have room for anything except what God says.” (14:36)
On Others’ Influence:
“People can love you, but that doesn’t mean they have God’s word in their mouth for you.” (13:17)
On Discernment:
“You don't owe anyone your hearing. When you're believing God for a miracle, your hearing has to be in God's direction and in words that are in God's direction.” (20:10)
On Thought Life:
“The devil can only enter through wrong thinking, through wrong words. Wrong words come because of wrong thinking.” (25:16)
Faith as Currency:
“Faith is the currency of heaven... I'm not going to let someone steal from me the wealth of heaven, the wealth of God's faith that's in me, through their wrong thinking.” (25:55)
Nancy Dufresne’s teaching in this episode centers on living out our identity in Christ, planting the Word deep in our spirits, and being intentional about what and whom we listen to. She issues a heartfelt and practical challenge to ensure only faith-based, life-giving input is allowed when contending for healing or the fulfillment of God's promises. Believers are urged to vigilantly guard thoughts and words, to be selective with their "hearing," and to remember: With the Word deep in our hearts and our faith protected, miracles are close at hand.
End of summary.
