There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now.

I receive it right now.

From the top of my head. From the top of my head. The soles of my feet. The soles of my feet. Welcome. We're so glad to have you with us today for Jesus the healer. Thank you so much for joining us. And I would encourage you get your Bible and you get something to take notes on and follow along with us, because we're believing God for you to receive answers for your life. And how many of you know the Word is the answer book? And we're believing that while we're ministering that, as I said, you're gonna receive answers. And sometimes those answers may be found in what I say, but sometimes just sitting in the atmosphere of the Word being taught, God will say something to you that really didn't come out of my mouth, but just an answer of the wor. We want you to take note of those because it's the Word that gives us all the help we need in this life. Amen. And so we've been in the midst of our series called In Christ I Can, and we've been almost a year on this. And my, my, my, it's been a pleasure. I'm so grateful that God has led us this way because there's so much in this for us. And really the highest order of faith is found when we recognize and establish in us who we are in Christ he made us to be. When we see who he is, we really find out who we are. Because the same success that's his, he has made that success ours. How many of you know God has never failed at anything he's done? And because we're his children, we were brought into his success. And if we will draw on him, put him to work for us, we'll always arrive at success. Amen. We have been talking about this phrase that faith, faith is an act. And how many of you know that the greater one is on the inside of us? But how do we put him to work for Us, since we're in Christ and Christ is in us. Jesus said, my Father in me. He does the works well. How did God in Jesus do the works well? Jesus obeyed what God told him to do. And then God filled those actions of obedience with. With his power. And miracles were the result. And so how do we put the greater One to work for us? We obey Him. And faith is an obedience. Faith acts, faith fulfills actions of obedience. And I would say this faith is not just a random act, but faith is acting in line with what God has told us to do. We were looking at that on the previous episode and I wanna continue along that, but along that line. But I want us to look at James 2:14, and this is the amplified classic translation. It reads, what is the use or the profit, my brethren, for anyone to profess to have faith, but if he has no good works to show for it? Can such faith save his soul when he's talking about good works? Now know, talking about works that earn salvation. Because Jesus did everything that needed to be done for our salvation. But once we're born again, and once the faith of God is on the inside of us, we should have actions of that faith. We should. It's not our acts that save us, but once we're born again, we should have much fruit. And that's actions of obedience. And so this is what he's referring to. That faith will take on form. It'll take on the form of an action of obedience. Verse 15 says, if a brother or sister is poorly clad and lacks food for each day, and one of you says to him, goodbye, keep yourself warm and well fed, without giving him the necessities for his body, what good does that do? So he's saying it's not enough to just say, I have faith, but there's no corresponding action to demonstrate that faith. Listen, I don't want to just give God words. I want to give him proof. I want to give him actions. I want to have fruit in my life to show that my words are true. And it goes on in verse 17 and it says this way. So also faith, if it does not have works or deeds and actions of obedience to back it up by itself, it's destitute of power, inoperative and dead. So notice this. We can have faith that's not operative. We can have faith that's dead. How is that? But by just us saying we have faith, but we have no actions that correspond with the things that we profess or we confess? You know when it says that faith could be Dead. Think about it. If someone dies, they go to heaven and everyone goes to their funeral or they go to the viewing where they view the body. Someone is dead. The body doesn't cease to exist. That body is there, but there's no movement. I want you to know that dead faith, it doesn't mean you don't have faith. It means it's not moving. It means that there's no life to it. So if you can have dead faith, that's a dangerous place to find ourselves. Well, what is it that gives life to our faith? Our obedience to what God tells us to do. Obedience is so important because when we obey God, then his power will fill our actions with his ability and his movement. So when we. When Jesus made the statement, he said, my Father in me, he does the works. That doesn't mean that Jesus just sat back and waited for God to do something that means that he was ever listening. God, what would you have me to do? God, what would you have me to say? What would you have me to minister to someone? And so when he would obey what the Father said, because remember Jesus said this, he said, I only do what I see my Father do. I only say what I hear my Father say. So it wasn't Jesus doing nothing. It was him obeying what he saw in it was him obeying what he heard from the Father. And so when Jesus obeyed, then God's power got in that obedience and miracles were the result. It's the same thing with us, that we can't just say, I've got faith. If we say we have faith, we say, God, what do you want me to do? You know, I so appreciate that on the road to Damascus, you remember that Paul was on the road to go really arrest other Christians that were living that Christian lifestyle, because he was against that. But on the road to Damascus, he got a divine arresting. And Jesus spoke to him and said, saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me and Saul? His name was Saul before it was changed to Paul. And he said, who are you? And he said, jesus, whom thou persecutest. And notice this. Then Saul said, what would you have me now notice this. I so appreciate that we see something right off, early on about Paul. He was a doer. He was a man of action. He was a man that was putting his hand to something. Now he was putting his hand to the wrong thing until he got arrested by Jesus and then he was born again. And now he immediately began putting his actions to his faith. And I want you to know that as ones in Christ, the way to put the greater one to work for us and through us and in us is through our actions of obedience. Always be looking to hear God, what would you have me say? What would you have me do? I was so blessed by one particular minister several years ago I went and ministered at their church and we were having a meal with them and they were so gracious to us. And when we were at the dinner that night, I was there, my son and my daughter in law, along with the pastors. And this pastor at the dinner table handed me an envelope and he said, God told me to bless you with this. And he gave me a check and it was a sizeable check. And then he said something to me. He said, when God told me to give you this, he said, I said to him, God, is there anything else you want me to do for her? Now look at that. This is the way that faith responds. God, what would you say to me? So many times people are hoping God doesn't instruct them to do something. But real faith is always listening. God, what would you have me to do? Because they know that the more that they hear what God would say to them and they obey that the blessing of God only increases on their life. So the Word tells us, blessed is the man that obeys the commandments of God. Who? Why? Because he knows that anytime God commands him to do something and he obeys, the blessing of God only increases on his life. Well, I want you to know that for us to put the greater one to work for us and through us and in us, it can only happen as we obey him. So we're ever sensitive. God, what would you have me to do? What would you have me to do for my local church? What would you have me to do for my family members? What would you have me to do for my co workers? Listen, God's not gonna. God's not going to have you to do something that's gonna take something out of you. It will only turn around and increase the blessing on your life. So always be looking because faith is always ready to make an action. Faith is always ready to take an action. Faith turns us into doers, not just confessors of the Word. And listen, confessing the Word is so important, but it's only one part of it. Our confession. Confession is to lead us to our doing. I was married to a man of raw faith. I tell you, Ed Dufresne, who is my husband, he went home to be with the Lord in 2013. But this man was a man of ongoing action. He was a doer. He was always putting his hand to something. And when you're around people of faith, they keep life very active because they're always acting. And you can tell faith people, they're always on the move. They. They're always doing something. They're not looking to stay stationary. They're not looking to stay back and do as little as possible. Faith people are looking to do as much as possible. And so here we see James is talking about faith people. Again, I want us to read in James 2, let's continue in verse 17. This is the Amplified classic translation. It said so also faith, if it does not have works, deeds and actions of obedience to back it up by itself, faith is destitute of power, inoperative and dead. Verse 18. But someone will say to you, then you say, you have faith and I have good works. Now show me your alleged faith, apart from any good works, if you can. And I, by good works of obedience, will show you my faith. Now listen, that needs to describe us. By good works of obedience, we show our faith. So whenever you need a miracle, whenever you need something from God, the first thing you should always do is say, God, what would you have me to do? I so appreciate getting to be around one man of God. For years, my husband and I were in rich fellowship with this minister. His name was Dr. Lester Sumrall. And what a man of raw faith. He was a missionary to the world. And he said, every time I need something from God, he said, I ask God, what would you have me to do? Whenever he would needed to buy a piece of property, or he needed to buy a building, or he needed to do something that enlarged the reach of his ministry, he said, God, what would you have me to do? Too much of the time we're looking for others to do for us when we need a miracle. But wait, it begins with, what would you have me to do? Now you'll remember that there was Elijah in the days of a famine. For three and a half years, there was a famine upon the earth, and there was no rain, no water. And during that famine, God told Elijah, go dwell by the brook cherith. So he went there and it said, he drank of that brook, and twice a day birds would bring food to him, bring him bread and bring him meat twice a day. And so after he had been there many days, one day that brook dried up and there was no more water. And so the prophet didn't just say, well, this is where God told me to be, and I'm going to stay here. When he saw it dry up, he said, God, where do you want me to go now? I want you to know when something is drying up, it's because God has another place for you to be. Find out where he's directing you to God. So Elijah said, God, where do you have for me to go? And God said to him, he said, I have commanded a widow woman in Zarephath to sustain thee. So he arises, and he goes to Zarephath, and he finds a widow woman. She's right there at the gates of the city, and she's a starving widow woman. Why is that? Because it's a time of famine. There's no crops, food is scarce. And she is gathering up a few sticks, and she is gathering something to, you know, make a fire. And so he recognizes that this is the woman that God had spoken to him about. So he said to her, he said, go and bring me some water. And so without argument, she turns from him and she starts on her way to go draw some water for him. Well, she gave no argument at the thought of drawing water. Why is that? Because water was a public resource. And so as she's on her way to go draw him some water, he calls after her and he says, and make me a cake of bread first. And then she stops. Now she got her attention in a whole other way because now he's touching into her personal resources. So she turns around to tell him why she can't do that. She says, I only have enough meal to make one cake of bread. And she said, that's going to be for me and my son. And once. That's it. Once we eat that, we have nothing else. We'll starve to death after that because we have nothing else. Well, she really did have enough to do what he said. Why did she think she didn't? Because she had earmarked it for her own use. Have you ever had something that was yours and you earmarked it? Maybe you had an amount of money and you earmarked it for a certain project. And then God says, I want you to sow that amount of money. And you go, God, I don't have that amount of money. But you really do. It's just something you had already earmarked. Well, that's. I found myself in that situation before, and that's the situation this woman was in. She thought she didn't have enough to obey God, but she did. And the prophet of God helped her to. See, instead of taking that meal and making it and you eating it, make mine first. And after you make mine, then make for you and your son. So this is what the prophet said. If you make mine first, you're going to have enough to make for you and your son. He wasn't trying to get something out of her. He was trying to get her miracle to her. Now notice this, that when the prophet was by the brook Cherith God provided for that man of God, how he would not only drink of the water of that brook, but he would send birds twice a day to bring bread and to bring meat. Now think of it. Why didn't God do that for this widow woman? She had a starving child. The two of them were starving to death. Why didn't he just give her birds that would take care of her? Why is that? Because God gave her a man of God to sow into. He gave her a place to sow. And when she had a place to sow, there was going to be a harvest on that. So God wanted her to have a harvest. Now notice Elijah, when he was just eating of the bread and the meat that the birds brought him twice a day, there was no harvest on that he was provided for, but there was no harvest. But when this woman sowed into what God told her to do, he told her to take care of that man of God. And when she did it, she not only had enough for the man of God, she had enough for her and her son. And then the three of them ate many days throughout the time of that famine because God kept multiplying her meal barrel. So notice this God involved her in her miracle. He did not bypass her to get a miracle to her. And I want you to know, when you need a miracle, God is not going to bypass you. He's going to give you something to obey. Now what if she would not have obeyed what the prophet of God said? What if she would have said, no, I know there's only enough meal in that barrel for me and my son. There's not enough for you. If she would have eaten the part that she was to sow, then her and her son would have died. Because if we don't obey God, God has no way of helping us. He helps us by giving us something to obey. And if we've got to obey his commands, obey what he leads us to do. And I would say this, it's not just random acts. We don't just decide, oh, if I do this, I'm forcing God to do that. No, he'll lead us in something to obey. So it's not just random acts. It's acts of obedience, something that he has given us to obey. And when we obey, the power of God will always meet our obedience to God. I want you to know obedience is a blessing to our life. The devil will always try to paint it as something hard and gonna take something from us. But I want you to know that obedience blesses our life. And disobedience opens the door to the devil. You know, I'm reminded of my husband's an experience that he had years ago, probably about 15 years or so before he went home to be with the lord. He went to the doctor just for a checkup one day. And the doctor told him, he said, you have cancer. And of course, my husband didn't know that. He did, and he had no idea of that. And when we got back home, he just said to God, after he received that diagnosis from the doctor, he said to God, he said, God, he said, you don't miss it? I've missed it somewhere. Where have I missed it? And God said two things. He said, number one, he said, I've dealt with you for years about properly resting your body and you don't do it. And he said, you'd do it for a short time, Then you'd go back to your bad habits of not resting properly. And he said, and your body is broken down because of lack of rest. He said, number two, he said, I would tell you to say something as a prophet of God, and you wouldn't say it. And he said, so you were disobeying me in the office you stood in. So my husband said, yes, father, I judge myself on that. I recognize that I've disobeyed you in those two areas, and I repent for it. And God said, okay. He said, In 30 days, it'll all be gone. On day 28, my husband went back to the doctor, and the doctor said, somebody up there likes you because there's no more cancer in your body. What I want you to see is this. It was disobedience in both of those areas that opened the door for the devil to attack him. Did God send those attacks? No. But disobedience opens the door to the devil. That's why faith is obedient to God. It keeps the door closed to the devil and it keeps the door open to God. I want you to know that when God gives us something to obey, the devil is always trying to paint that as a difficulty or a hardship if we obey. But really our obedience is our protection and our place of safety because it always keeps us in the place where God's power can reach us and minister to us. It's disobedience that closes the door to God and opens the door to the devil. And you say, pastor Nancy, I can look back and I can see that my life has gotten off course. How do I get my life back on course? Well, I would say this. Go back to the last thing that God told you to do. What is it that he told you to do? Pick that back up. And if something for some reason that is, you're not able to pick that back up because of the nature of the command, go back to God and say, God, what would you command of me? Because our restoration lies in our obedience. Our miracle lies in our obedience. Our healing lies in our obedience. God will always give us something to obey. You know, I remember a time that I was. I was facing some physical conditions in my body, and I said to God, after a period of time, I said to God, I said, for a year and a half, I've been doing all I know to do. I'm standing on the Word, I'm confessing the Word, I'm praying much time in the Spirit. I'm doing all I know to do. And I said, but I'm not making progress. Listen, when we implement the Word and we're acting on the Word, there should be evidence that things are progressing. And so I said, God, I'm seeing no signs of progression. And I said, I'm missing it somewhere. What am I leaving out? And just very quietly on the inside of me, I heard three words. And the Spirit of God said, the praise cure. What was I leaving out? I was praying every day. I was reading my Bible. I was making confessions. I was spending time speaking in tongues. I was speaking, studying and watching other sermons. And I was doing all I know to do. But I was leaving out one thing. I wasn't praising him, that I was already the healed and already the free. And so by not doing that, just leaving out one component of my actions of faith. So I just. I set down everything else I was doing because I had gotten behind in my praise. So that's all I did for the next. I just, all day long, praise the Lord. Just quietly to myself. If I was around people, if I was by myself, I'd say it out loud and I'd say, praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. What was I doing? Do you know that that worship and that praise was an act of obedience because the Spirit of God had said to me the praise cure. He was giving me something to obey. So as I carried out that command and I just worshiped and I worshiped. And if I woke up in the middle of the night, I'd begin to praise. And I may I put it in the forefront of my actions and in my thoughts every day, all day long. I mean, I said it thousands of times over and over. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. And can I tell you this? I didn't even try to get creative in how I said it. I just kept saying the same words over and over. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. And I want you to know, it seemed as though my. It seemed as though those words seemed to fall flat. But I just kept at it. And at the end of seven days, I remember where I was exactly a week later. And I was sitting in my house. There were people in the family room that was in our house with us. And I was quietly to myself saying, praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. But then one time I said it, and all of a sudden, it was like a coin that went down into that vending machine. Something clicked, and I was connected to my spirit. And so when I got connected to my spirit, the word of the Lord spoke to me, and he gave me another command. And he said, now tell that evil spirit that's been harassing your life to desist in his maneuvers against you. So I got up because there were people there in the room. I got up, and I walked into a room where I was alone by myself, and I shut the door, and I quietly said. I said, now that evil spirit that you've been harassing my life, you desist in your maneuvers against me. And that was the end of that. For a year and a half, that test had been going on. But see, when I had. When I heard the command, when I heard what to do and I obeyed what the spirit of God said. Can I tell you this? It's usually not something big that we're to obey. It was just really two very small things. And two small things that I could easily. Number one was the praise cure. Number two was to tell that spirit to desist in his maneuvers against my life. But the second command didn't come until the first command was fulfilled. Why? Was it because by praising God, it put me in a place of the spirit to where when I spoke to that evil spirit, I was not speaking from a mental place, but I was speaking from a place of faith. I was speaking from a place of where I was occupying my place in the spirit realm. And the results were immediate. I want you to know that everything that God has for you in Christ is connected to our obedience, that as we obey him, he is able to work for us in us and through us and in our behalf. Amen. Well, you don't want to miss next time. And until next time, remember this Jesus is the Healer. God bless you.

Podcast Summary: Jesus the Healer w/ Nancy Dufresne
Episode 943 | In Christ I Can, Part 183
Date: February 11, 2026
In this episode, Nancy Dufresne continues her deep dive into practical faith in the series “In Christ I Can,” focusing on the principle that faith is an act of obedience. She explores how faith comes alive and becomes effective through acts prompted by the Holy Spirit, sharing scriptural truths and personal testimonies to illustrate how obedience activates God’s power in a believer’s life, leading to answered prayers, healing, and miracles.
On Faith as Action:
“Faith is an act. How many of you know that the greater one is on the inside of us? But how do we put him to work for us, since we’re in Christ and Christ is in us? ...We obey Him. And faith is an obedience.” (03:16–04:06, Nancy)
On Dead Faith:
“Dead faith doesn’t mean you don’t have faith. It means it’s not moving. It means that there’s no life to it.” (08:26, Nancy)
About Divine Instruction:
“Faith turns us into doers, not just confessors of the Word. Confession is to lead us to our doing.” (14:59, Nancy)
Testimony of Healing and Obedience:
“When we obey, the power of God will always meet our obedience to Him. Obedience is a blessing to our life.” (25:17, Nancy)
On the ‘Praise Cure’:
“It was just really two very small things. Number one was the praise cure. Number two was to tell that spirit to desist... The second command didn’t come until the first was fulfilled.” (28:22, Nancy)
Nancy’s teaching is earnest, nurturing, and rich with practical encouragement. The central message is clear: faith is most powerful when it is lived out through active, ongoing obedience to God’s specific instructions. Obedience is never meant to deprive but to position believers for greater blessing, miracles, and protection.
Final Encouragement
Whenever you need a miracle or are seeking God’s intervention, ask:
“God, what would you have me to do?”
Remember:
“Everything that God has for you in Christ is connected to our obedience.” (28:22, Nancy)
Next Steps:
