There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now.

Welcome. We're so glad to have you with us today for Jesus the healer. Thank you for taking the time to join us. And we invite you, get your Bible, get something to take notes on. And we're exposed, God to give you answers. And so we thank God for this time together. And we have been in the midst of our series called In Christ I Can. We have been on it almost a year now. And I am so glad the Holy Ghost has led us this way because the. This is such a deep well. I mean, there's so much to draw out of this. And once we discover who we are in Christ, how this rewrites the. The way we think, how we handle situations and where we go to when we need help, we don't just draw on ourselves, but we have divine help within us. And so we've been teaching on this and we invite you go back and watch any previous episodes you may have missed because, oh, my goodness, we have. We've touched in so many different topics that everything pertains really to who we are in Christ. And so it brings us into the best life and it helps us to live as rich as we are. And it brings us into the highest order of faith when we recognize who he is in us and what he will do through us. And it removes all the struggle when we learn to draw on him in the face of adversity, we say, through Him, I can do all things. And so it's such a joy to speak, to spend this time with you. And we know that as those that belong to Christ, as those who possess everything because we possess him, that we are to partake of who he made us to be. And this is only done by faith. And how many of you know, faith obeys God, that whatever he commands of our life, we're willing to move with Him. In that it says in Acts, chapter 17, verse 28, in him we live and move and have our being. Notice this, that he is in every single facet. In him we live, we move, and every part of our being is affected by Him. And so know this, he's left Himself out of none of it. And so we don't ever want to leave him out by not acknowledging him, not being mindful of Him. How do we draw on the greater One in us? Number one, we have to acknowledge he's in us. We have to remember he is on the inside of us. And he's there not to just be a hitchhiker, but to put us over in life. And so we're to make much of Him. We're to speak of him often. Consider him whenever we're considering a situation that we're facing. And I would say this, before you put your hand to anything, ask yourself this. Is this going to help fulfill the plan of God in my life, or is it going to draw me away from the plan of God in my life? Because he doesn't want you getting yourself involved in something that's going to draw you away from what he authored for your life. And he authored a great plan for your life that he filled you with Himself so that he could fulfill that plan through you as you move with him by faith and obedience. So anytime he has something to bring us into, then he always gives us something to obey, because faith obeys God. And then when we obey him, then he is able to get into that movement. And He. He empowers us as we obey his plan for our life. We've been looking at something that is such an important component in our faith life, and that is this flow of endurance. And know this, that when we know how to endure, there's no quitting in us. And I would say this, don't practice quitting in life, because if we practice it, we only get good at the wrong flow. And so if you recognize, wait a minute, I have a pattern in my life that I have quit on this, and this and this, this is something my mother was. So I remember just as a, as, as a child growing up, my mother ingrained in us that when you're part of something, you don't quit it. And she never allowed us to start something we didn't finish because she did not want us to practice quitting in life. And so I remember when we would be part of some kind of organization, part of some kind of group, and, and if we joined it, Mother said, when you joined that you're going to be. You're going to be part of that. You're going to finish off the year with that. Because in school year, you know, you would sign up for something and it lasted a year. She said, you're not going part way and quitting. You're going to see it through to the end. And that was not to discourage us from joining. That was to let us know that once you join, you're part of the group. And I remember this, that even we were part of our denominational church and we had a youth group, there was no such thing as mother, if I said, well, I want to go do something different on youth night, no. She'd say, no, you're part of that group and you're going to show up for that group. And I would have to teach as a pastor. I would have to teach our congregation members. Don't punish your children by holding them out of something that they're supposed to be participating in. For example, if there's a church event or they're part of the youth and they did something at home that got them in trouble, punish them in a way that doesn't punish the youth group, doesn't punish the church, doesn't punish the organization they're a part of. Because you don't want to teach them that they can come and go out of their commitments. Teach them that you, when you sign up for something, you see it through to the end. And I tell you, my mother would not let us. I mean, if we signed up for a sports event, we signed up for any event in school. She said, you're doing it till you finish. And she did not let us practice quitting because practicing quitting is a bad habit. And so recognize in your life if you have been practicing quitting. And a lot of times if, if you were to ask people, have you practiced quitting, they go, oh, oh, no, no, no, no. But think back. Have you stopped before something was finished? Did you not see it through to completion? Because there is no quitter in you. I want you to know Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And there's no quitting in him. And I want you to know you can see end. So just, just make sure that you're practicing the right flow. And the right flow is to be an endurer. Now, I know this. There have been times that I had planned on doing something and even said I was going to do something, and God checked me on it. And God would say, I don't want you to do that. Then I would obey him. That's not quitting. That's called obedience to what God said. And I know there have been times people said, well, I gave my word that I'm going to do something, yes, but if God's word comes, that's higher than your wor. And so it can be a rescue if you will obey what God is telling you to do. And that's not so. You can use that loosely. Well, you know, God told me to do something different. Sometimes people put God's name on it because they don't want to finish something. But don't ever be guilty of that. If you're part of something, finish it through to the end unless God tells you something different. But it's so important that we understand that in this life of faith we cannot be quitters. And I want us to look at Hebrews chapter 12 and verse 2, and giving us an example of what not quitting looks like, we see this about Jesus again. Hebrews 12:2. This is the King James translation. It says, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. So what do we see at the end of this verse? That he arrived at the place he was intended to arrive at. He was raised and seated as seated at the right hand of the Father. So he finished the work. But then notice that the first part of this verse, it says, looking unto Jesus. Listen, it matters what you're setting before you as an example when you need to endure. Don't get your eyes on the people who didn't make it to the end. Don't get your eyes on the people who did not finish, who didn't receive what it was that they were believing God for. Look at, it says, looking unto Jesus. What do we see in him? We see. He is our example of what it means to endure. And this verse tells us, how did he endure the cross? Think about it. You know, Jesus did not live his earthly life under the cloud of someday I'm going to be the lamb slain from the foundation of the world. I'm going to be that slain lamb. I'm going to pay the price for the sin of humanity. The penalty of sickness and disease is going to be laid on me. He did not live under the burden of that divine assignment. What was it? It says here that looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, he's going to show us how to walk the life of faith. And then it says, who? For the joy that was set before him endured the cross. Look at this. For what joy was set before him? What's that mean? Who? For the joy that was set before him, he endured. That means he did not focus on the cross. He focused on the joy on the other side of the cross. He looked all the way past the cross to see the reward or the fulfillment of what would be received because of enduring. And so what is it that he would. What is it he was focused on? He wasn't focused on the suffering. He wasn't focused on how he would be arrested and mistreated and mishandled. What he focused on was, I'm going to bring many sons to glory. And so he focused on the great reward of fulfilling the plan of God. He did not focus on what was in front of him. He looked clear past the cross to the reward. And that's how he endured. And that's what it says, who? For the joy that was set before him, what was that? The reward. He focused on the reward. He endured the cross. How are you going to endure opposition? Focus on what's on the other side of that opposition. The devil is opposing you because he doesn't want you to reach what's awaiting you on the other side of that opposition. So we focus on, on the backside of this, not on the front side of the cross. Jesus focused on the other side of the cross. And we can see this, that this is exactly how David met Goliath. You'll remember that his father sent him as he was a, you know, a young boy about 16 or so years old. His father sent him to go to the battlefield. He said, go and see how your, your brothers are doing. Bring me word again about how they're doing and then take them food. And so David went down to the battlefield to see his brothers in battle. And what he came upon was a sight to see the Israeli army hiding in fear. You know, there may be times that you are in as a, as a military plan. They may be hiding, but not in fear, but hiding to get, to prepare for the attack they're getting ready to make. Well, he saw these soldiers hiding in fear. And they don't train soldiers to hide from the enemy. They train soldiers to defeat the enemy. But these men were doing different than what they were trained to do. And they were hiding from Goliath. Well, not all. Why were they hiding? Well, King Saul was hiding also. He was not going out and dealing with, with Goliath. So Goliath would come out every single day. And he would taunt the people of God, he would taunt the armies, and he would say, send a man to fight me. And if the man defeats me, then we, the Philistines, will be your slaves. But if I defeat him, you, the Hebrews, will be our slaves. So there was much at stake for who fought Goliath. And so all the men were hiding because they were measuring themselves up to this giant of a man and they said, we can't beat him. But David saw the same giant and said, I can't miss him. He knew that that target was so big that there was not going to be any way he could miss that giant. And so know this, that David was indignant to see this Israel army hiding from this, from this giant. Why did they hide? They forgot something. They forgot that they are in covenant with a God who would fight for them and defend them. And so David asked, he asked of those soldiers that day, he said, what does the guy get who beats this giant? What was he asking about? What's the reward? I want you to know there's always a reward on the other side of opposition. If you will reach that other side of opposition, you will run right into that reward. So David didn't focus on how big Goliath was. He, he focused on the other side of Goliath. That's what Jesus did. He didn't focus on the cross. He focused on the joy that was on the other side of the cross. So how are you going to face this opposition that may be in front of you? Don't focus on what's right in front of you. Focus on the victory, receiving the fullness of the plan that awaits you on the other side of that opposition. And that's what David did. He said, what does the guy get? What's he get rewarded with? And they said, well, there's a threefold reward for the man who defeats Goliath. Number one, the king will make him rich in one day. There would be, there would be great, added great wealth to him. So David was just a shepherd boy up to this time. But now he saw himself, ah, I'm going to turn into a wealthy man today as just a young man. And so they said the second thing is, is that he gets to marry the king's daughter. The third thing was that him and his family would be free from service or free from taxes. What do we see here? David started measuring, hey, this reward is worth this, this big ugly guy here. And so he started, he started focusing on the reward. He Focused on I'm going to be made wealthy today. Goliath isn't taking me down, he's going to make me a rich man today. And number two, he's going to marry the king's daughter. Notice this, it doesn't matter what she looked like. They didn't bring the daughter to the, to the battlefield for the guys to look at. He didn't ask what does the king's daughter look, look like? She's royal bloodline. That when he marries the king's daughter it's not just him coming into royal bloodline but it's future generations. I want you to know when you endure it doesn't just bless you, it blesses future generations your obedience to endure any opposition. Because the plan of God is so great, it won't just bless your life, it will bless future generations as you obey that plan. So David was thinking of and when I beat Goliath it's going to affect me and it's going to affect my children and my children's children. So he wasn't just carrying himself into that fight that day, he was taking his future into a winning flow. And then the third thing is he's going to be free. Him and his family would be free from service, free from taxes. So Goliath was a big old tax write off. And so David told Goliath, he said today I'm going to take your head off your shoulders. David couldn't even reach Goliath's shoulders but he knew this, he knew he's going to come down and he's going to win in the face of this. And so David did not just go to Goliath thinking about Goliath, he went to Goliath thinking about this is my entrance into wealth, this is my entrance into royal bloodline, this is my entrance into a tax free future. And it's going to affect me, it's going to affect my family and it's going to affect future generations. Your endurance is worth it because it affects more than today, it affects more than what you know about. And so David ran at that Goliath and he said, who is this uncircumcised philistine? He talked big about God but he talked small about the giant in front of him. Why do people stand back and why do they sometimes even back down to the point of quitting? Because they're talking big about the problem instead of talking big about God. Talk big about the God who's on the inside of you and how he's in you to put you over too many times. People make so much of the devil because they're talking so much about what's opposing them, about what they feel, about what they see. What? Well, their attention is on the wrong thing and that's why their faith is faltering. If we look at, if we have our attention on the wrong thing, it will rob us of faith. But if we have our attention on God and what he has said, then it will put faith in us. And so know this, you can't just have your attention on anything and think that you're going to arrive at the victory that belongs to you. You have to have your faith on the right thing. And that's what David did. He focused on the reward. That's what Jesus did. That's what we read in Hebrews 12, verse 2. It says, who? For the joy that was set before him, he endured the cross. The cross was not the joy, it was what was going to happen on the other side of the cross. That he would bring many sons to glory. And that's what he was focusing on. What was it he was focusing on? You. That day he was focusing on me. That day he was focusing on that we are the great reward, that he would bring many sons to glory. And so by keeping his attention on the right thing, he endured. If we have our attention on the wrong thing, we'll quit, we'll fold up, we'll cave in. But if we will make sure that we have our attention on the right thing, we will endure. And it says about Jesus that he was set down at the right hand, hand of the throne of God. What's that mean? That he endured to the finish. That he wasn't settling for anything less than God's best. Then we can go to Hebrews 12:3 and this is the next verse here regarding Jesus. It said, for consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Notice where quitting starts in the mind that people never quit in the. In their. In their assignment, in what God commanded of them until they first quit in their mind. The devil is after your thinking. He wants you to faint in your mind. But he says that Jesus that consider him that endured, Jesus had to endure. Listen, if Jesus had to endure, we get to endure. And he showed us that it can be done by having our attention on the right thing. And then we don't. We don't become weary and faint in our minds. Listen, if we're going to endure, we're going to have to deal with Our thought life. You can't just let yourself think about anything. You can't just let yourself imagine anything. And if I could say this, you cannot let yourself imagine the worst. You can't let yourself imagine what if this doesn't work? You cannot let your mind go there, because if you faint in your mind, you'll faint in your actions. And there is to be no fainting for us. Then I want you to see what Mark 4:14 says. This is talking, of course, about the different kinds of. Four different kinds of ground that the seed was sown into. It says in Mark 4, starting with verse 14, the sower soweth the word. And these are they by the wayside where the word is sown. And when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground, who, when they have heard the word, they immediately receive it with gladness. But they have no root in themselves. And so they endure but for a time afterward. And when affliction and persecution arises for the word's sake, immediately they are offended or they let go of that word. Know this, that we are not just here to endure for a time. Well, what are we going to have to do? Why do people only endure for a short time? It says in verse 17, they have no root in themselves. What's that mean? They didn't take time to establish the Word in them. You have to let the Word be established in you. And that's your responsibility to sow that Word in your heart. And in sowing that word in your heart, it puts a foundation in you. And in that foundation you're not moved. You don't give up when adversity comes. Think about it. With Joseph, this was a young man who was. He was serving his father as a. As a shepherd boy. And. And God began to show him his future. Listen, not everyone is going to see their future play off in front of them like Joseph did. But why did God show Joseph? Because there was such opposition to his future that when he remembered what God showed him, it would hold him strong and steady. Do you know that there are times that God will show you things about your future? He'll speak it to you. You may not see it in a dramatic way, the way Joseph said saw it in a dream. But God can unfold the future to you. Whether he'll help you to see components and bits and pieces of it. Well, that your future is not going to come to pass automatically unless you endure so God was letting him know that if you will endure, you will see the fulfillment of the greatness of the plan for your life come to pass. Well, we have to not only recognize that God has a plan, it's not enough to God has a plan for me, but we have to endure if we're going to participate and see the end of that plan come to pass. I know that God has shown me things about my life. I'm sure God has shown you things about the future. And you can't say, well, if it's God, it'll come to pass. No, if we endure, it will come to pass. If we, if we move in faith with God, if we're obedient to God. Listen, God had a plan for Adam and Eve, for them to fulfill God's complete will. But what was it? Listen, God created a garden for them. God put them in the garden, but they did the wrong thing in that garden. And so they had to be removed. God did not intend for them to have to be removed, but God already had a plan to make up for their failure. And I want you to know that just God putting you in the right place doesn't mean that that is going to be fulfilled. We have to endure. That's part of the life of faith. If we say that we're faith people, we also have to say we're people of endurance. Because faith is not just about wanting to get somewhere. Faith is about enduring until we arrive. It's not enough to want the plan of God. We have to do the right thing. Well, what is that? We have to hold to what God said. We have to hold fast and we have to endure. Well, can we do that? Absolutely. Because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Why is this? We're not enduring with human ability. We're not enduring with human willpower. We're enduring with the strength that only God can give. And that strength is more than enough to put us over in the face of opposition and in the face of difficulty. So know this, that when, when Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers, he was carried off into Egypt and he worked in the household of Potiphar. Then he was falsely accused and a mock trial was held to throw him in prison. And he was there for 12 years. Don't you know? That was 12 years of enduring. How did he endure? How was he able to hold through till the end? Because God had already shown him when he was a young man what his future would look like. So he held before him what God showed him, how are you going to endure? Hold fast to what God has shown you. Hold fast to what God has revealed to you, what he has spoken to you about your future. Because that plan calls for your endurance. And so Joseph endured and he ended up as a 30 year old man second in command of the greatest nation on earth. He was running the economy of a nation and God had him ready by the age of 30 to do that. Because he had endured so much as a young man, it looked like his youth was gone. He had spent it in prison, but he did not see it that way. He saw it as he was being prepared and trained for the place he was born for. I want you to know that there's a plan that when you were born, God had this plan in place for your life. And and if you'll endure, you will occupy the greatness of God's plan for your life. Amen. And the plan of God is worth enduring for. And as I said, it's not a hardship to endure, but we endure with joy. Amen. Well, you don't want to miss next time. And until next time, remember this Jesus is the healer. God bless you.
