There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now.

Welcome. We're so glad to have you with us today for Jesus the healer. Thank you for joining us and thank you for loving the Word because we are enjoying the time that we're getting to teach in this called In Christ. I can. And we have been on this around for about a year or so. And I am so glad that the utterance has been coming and the understanding is being given. And we're just seeing things that really help us to realize how rich we are in Christ. And when we come into the understanding of who we are in Christ and who he is in us, we really come into the highest order of faith. That faith is no struggle. Whenever we see ourselves in him and we recognize all, he's made ours. And so we've been using in our as our golden text, starting in Colossians, chapter two, verse nine. And this is the living Bible translation. And Paul was writing and he says, for in Christ there is all of God in a human body. So you have everything when you have Christ. If you settle down on that statement, I have everything because I have Him. You'll never live with a mindset of deficiency. You'll never live with the idea that I've got to try to formulate something on my own, I've got to achieve something on my own, when really it's not about achieving something, it's about receiving something, something he's already purchased and made ours. Because in Christ belongs to us more than we could ever achieve on our own apart from Him. So he says, Paul says, you have everything when you have Christ and you are filled with God through your union with Christ. He is the highest ruler with authority over every other power. And so we've been saying this in this series that really Christ is the treasure box. Everything God planned for you, everything God desired for you to have, He Put it in Christ. Then he put Christ in you and says, now anytime you need, you can put a demand on who's in you. Put him to work for you. And when you recognize that you have so much more in him than you would ever have outside of him. And so we also have been looking at. We want to go further today in 1st Corinthians, chapter 3 and verse 21. This is also the living Bible translation. Paul is writing to the church in Corinth, and he says, so don't be proud of following the wise men of this world. You know, people clamor to get around who they think to be wise, but he's saying, we have a higher level to draw from. We have a higher flow to draw from. And so he says, for God has already given you everything you need. So he's letting us know, don't go to the wise men, that those men that this world calls wise, don't go to them to try to get your needs met, because in you is everything to meet the need. And so verse 22, he goes on and he lists this. He says, God has given you Paul and Apollos and Peter as your helpers. And as we've talked about in previous episodes, we were referring to this whole congregation. God gave them men with God's words in their mouth. God gave them men to impart, men to speak the utterances of God. And it says that they were their helpers. You need someone to help you to enjoy the fullness of what belongs to you in Christ. Someone to teach you, someone that will have oversight of your soul. And really that begins with your pastor. That someone who has oversight of your soul, that they are helpers to feed you, to bring you into greater understanding of who you are in Christ and who he is in you. But again, let's look at verse 22 of First Corinthians 3. Paul says, God has given you Paul and Apollos and Peter as your helpers. Look at this next phrase. He has given you the whole world to use. Look at this. God says he has given you the whole world to use. Notice, he has not given for the world to use. You. You use the world. What's he talking about? Well, everything good on this earth. God's the creator of. God's the creator of this thing, you know. And you say, well, everything belongs to the devil. Second Corinthians, chapter 4, verse 4 says that Satan is the God of this world. You have to understand it this way. Satan is the God of this world's system, but Satan is Not the God of the whole earth in the sense of the Word tells us that the earth and the fullness thereof is the Lord's. That God owns the cattle on a thousand hills. That's why when the Hebrews were in slavery in Egypt for 400 years, God said this land, and he chose that promised land. He said, I'm going to give this to my people. How could he do that if he didn't own it? God owned it. And so when God says something is yours, he doesn't. He doesn't. It's not about money anymore, it's about what God says. And so this is what he's saying. He has given you the whole world to use. To use. Why? For his glory, for his purposes, for his plans to be carried out. Not for the world to use you, but you use the world to fulfill God's plan in the earth. And it says this, Paul says, he has given you the whole world to. And life and even death are your servants. Look at that. How many people in the body of Christ really understand that? How many have taken that approach? What he's saying is that you determine your life and you determine your exit. I love something that. There's a woman called Freda Lindsay and she is a minister who took over for her husband. He was part of the healing revival. And in the 1948-1950-1947-1958 here in America there was a healing revival on. And he was the one who founded the Voice of Healing. And that was a gathering of ministers who really had healing ministries and they were on the forefront of that revival. Well, his name was Gordon Lindsay and he lived to be, I think in his late 50s. And after he went home to be with the Lord, Freda Lindsay, his wife, took over the ministry and it grew much larger under her than under him. She had a full time Bible school, she had housing for all the students. She had quite an impact. And when she was 91 years old, she was. I don't remember if she was at her home or if she was in her office, but one day she looked up and there were two angels standing there where she was at. And she said to God, she said, what are those angels here for? And he said, well, if you want to come home, they're there to escort you home. And she says, she, she looked at those angels, says, no, I'm not ready yet. You're going to have to wait. And they stepped back and they disappeared. And she lived another. She was 91, I believe, at the time. And I Believe she lived till she was 94. So what was that? She was in command. She wasn't going to leave until she was satisfied. And this is what Paul was saying, that death doesn't push the believer around. Why? Because the devil shall not have dominion over in any shape or form. And so too many times, we're letting symptoms and sickness choose for us. Know this, that the devil will try to get symptoms to press on you to change your will to live. And so many people have agreed to leave the earth due to the symptoms, due to the sickness. But I want you to know your will is to be set by your choice, by what you choose of the word of God. Proverbs chapter 4, verse 20 says, My Son, attend to my words. Why is that? Because God's words will equip you to make the right choice. But the words of sickness, the words of pressure, the words of circumstances, the words of pain will try to get you to change your will. And I want you to know the devil cannot change your will. You're the only one who can change your will. I've been through those tests when the devil would try to put so much pressure on me for some reason, with some arena or other, and I'd recognize you're trying to get me to change my will. My will is fixed. I am fixed on what God's plan is. I'm fixed on what God's word says. I will not change my will to conform to this pressure. Know this. You have to guard your will by attending to his words. Because the words of pain, the words of symptoms, the words of just wanting to quit, circumstances can push on people. And they absolutely just quit Those symptoms, those circumstances come to try to pressure you into choosing something different. But you have to know this, life and even death are your servants. You choose, you boss them around, they don't boss you around. And this is what God's Word says. For even life and even death are your servants. How many of you know they could not? Jesus was not killed. He laid down his life. And until he laid it down, he wasn't leaving. And notice this, even when he was on the cross, he said, I release my spirit and into my Father's hands. So he was choosing all along the way, nothing chose for him. And so this is why we stay full of the Word, so that our will will stay in line with his word and not in line with pressures that try to come against us. So Paul again in verse 22 of First Corinthians, chapter 3, the Living Bible translation, he says, this God has given you Paul and Apollos and Peter as your helpers. He has given you the whole world to use and life and even death are your servants. He has given you all of the present and all of the future. All are yours and you belong to Christ. And Christ is God's now. Notice this phrase. He has given you all the present. He has given you all of the future. Notice what isn't mentioned. The past. Why is that? Because the past has been dealt with by the blood of Jesus so many times people are trying to fix their past. God doesn't try to fix your past. He just cleanses you of it. He washes it away. And he says this. He said, all of the present and all of the future are yours. So don't let your present and your future be determined by your past. God doesn't mention your past. God won't bring it up. So you let the word, you let God's plan and you let God's faith, or the faith of God that's in you. Let it determine your present and let it determine your future. Don't let the past dictate what your present looks like or what your future looks like. I remember years ago I had been teaching in our local church on prosperity. And God made this statement to me to teach to the people. He said, your greatest enemy to prosperity is your past. Why is that? Because of the way many people grew up. They grew up in financial hardship. They saw their parents struggle, they saw family struggle. And if they're not. And what happens is the devil wants to define our faith by getting us to live by past seasons of our life. But once we're born again, we have to realize that old things are passed away. Behold, all things are become new. The future is to be written, rewritten by the word of God, not by letting our past determine what we can or cannot have. In the United States, it started around, I believe in like 1929, went through like 1941. And that was what they call the Great depression. There were 25% of Americans in out of work. And it was, it was felt especially hard in the cities, in the rural areas where people had lands or had farms, they could grow their own food, they could have livestock that would sustain their family. But in the cities they didn't have those, they didn't have that available to them. So there was a lot of homelessness, there was a lot of hunger, there were jobs that, that just could not be found. And so the children that grew up in that era, they remember the hardship of those Years. And what happened is they began developing a mindset from the years of the Great Depression. And it marked how they thought, how they conducted their finances long after the Depression was over. The way of thinking had already been established through that Great Depression. And then those who grew up in that Great Depression, they passed that mindset to their children who weren't even alive during the Depression. What was it God was telling me? The greatest enemy to your prosperity is your past. By you remembering thinking about how past seasons were so difficult and you struggled, and survival was difficult for people who didn't know God, didn't know the word of God. And many times people grow up listening to the stories of the past and they start letting that determine how they think. And the Word tells us, as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. So to address, to advance further, something has to advance in the thought life. We have to deal with thoughts of the past, memories of the past, events of the past that would try to hold us back from the fullness of what God has made ours. And I know that I have family members and relatives that when they were younger, it was very difficult for them to get the needs of the family met to support their children, support their family. But as they got older, there was, there was quite sufficiency. They were well taken care of. They were very successful in business. They. But yet they still thought like the previous seasons. And this is called the renewing of the mind. We have to lay down thinking that previous seasons taught us if it's in opposition to the word of God. And so we see this, that God has said this. He has given you all of the present and all of the future. He doesn't bring up the past. Don't let past situations and, and past experiences determine what you'll receive today. There are some people, Christians, who they knew of somebody who maybe died prematurely from a sickness or disease. And then if they're faced with that same challenge, they go back to that experience of remembering the person who didn't receive healing, but maybe died prematurely of the same disease. You know what that is? That's the past. And I want you to know you cannot use full faith today thinking about someone who didn't receive their answer, thinking about someone who didn't receive their miracle or their healing. We have no business considering somebody else's body, someone else's situation. We're to consider the word of God. We're not to consider the past. Because so many people have, have been robbed of what God's made theirs. Because what they did was remember the past. Then what about people who have gone through some very difficult relationships, some that have come from broken homes. Sometimes children who grow up in a broken home, they're afraid of that being repeated in the future. They don't have to be afraid of it. Because right here God says he's given you the present and the future, not the past. You don't have to live the present or the future based on what the past looked like. It doesn't have to repeat in your life. You never have to be afraid that, oh, this bad thing happened in my family, or this bad thing happened in a marriage, or this bad thing happened in our business, or we lost our home when I was a child. That's not the present and that's not the future that God offers you. He offers you all the present and all the future to serve the plan of God. Not to serve failure, not for it to be a place of stepping back, not to be a place of diminishing, but a place of advancement and increase is what the present and the future is to hold. Now, to the measure that someone looks back to the past, that's the measure they're missing God. That if they look back to, oh, I've made so many mistakes. Oh, I failed God in this. I've gone directions I shouldn't have gone. I've taken steps I shouldn't have taken. I've gone places I shouldn't have gone. I've been in situations I never should have been in to. The measure that you look back is the measure that you're missing. God. God doesn't look back and he doesn't even bring up the past in this situation, in this passage. Why? Because he offers you the present and the future for your faith to write it. God has already authored his highest and best plan for you. And it's your faith that says, I'll take that and I will rewrite the way my present looks and I'll rewrite the way my future looks. Do not let the past dictate where you arrive at. You can take the word of God and have God's best flowing in your life. So notice this. He said, God has given you all of the present and all of the future. Look at this. All are yours and you belong to Christ and Christ is God's. So let your present and let your future look like you belong to Christ and that you belong to God. Have a life. Live a life and have a vision that represents God appropriately. Amen. I want you to know that we are to live this life by faith. We're walking it by faith. So by faith, we can rewrite our present. If you can look at your present situation right now and say, I don't like this. I don't like this. This needs to change. God authorizes. God authorizes your faith to receive that change, to walk in that change. Why? Because he's given you the present. It's yours to rewrite. Rewrite it with the Word. Now. What? You. You're going to have a difficulty enjoying God's best if all you do is remind people in your life how they messed you up in the past, how they mistreated you in the past, how they handled you in the past. I'm not saying that what they did was right. And when you forgive somebody, you're not agreeing or saying they're okay. But what you are saying is, I refuse to let that author my present. I refuse to let that author my future. God has given me His Word. He's given me this place in Christ, Christ in me. And that's what my present, and that's what my future is going to represent. So don't ever use a reason of the past to be an excuse for today. Sometimes people say, well, Pastor Nancy, this really bad thing happened in my childhood. And I don't make light of that. I don't make light of things that people have faced. But don't let a reason become an excuse because God has given you a present and a future that you can rewrite with your faith. Amen. By faith in His Word, and His plan will give you the best life. But we have to walk by faith. And sometimes you have to recognize this. I forget my past by faith. I don't have to. I don't have to live trying to cope with my past. I want you to know we are not called to cope. We're called to rule and reign in this life. And so the only way we can do it is we walk by faith and. And we let go of things that should be let go of. We forget what should be forgotten. We forgive what must be forgiven. And we refuse to offer up our present and our future to something that troubled our past. Amen. Now, when we walk by faith, just know this. The Word tells us while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. So what's he saying? This. Don't walk by what you feel. Don't walk by what you see. Your resources may tell you you can't have that home, but if God told you that you can have that home. You can have that home regardless of what your resources say. Because if you will lay what God says on your resources, your resources must change. Your resources must reflect what God said. And so many times people will say, Pastor Nancy, I can look at my resources and say, I can't afford that. Yes, but if you'll look at what God's made yours, then you'll recognize that what he says is greater than what your resources show you. So we're to not. We're not to look at what we see and what we feel to determine what God has made ours. You know, when we're not looking at what we see, what are we looking at? We're to look at what God says, which is unseen. If God says that house is yours, you can't see in the natural that it's yours, but you see it by faith. If God says that, I choose to believe that. Now, walking by faith is not walking blind. Why is that? Because when God says something, you have to know this. Nothing is hidden from the view of God. He can view the past, he can view the present, he can view the future. And he's going to talk to you and lead you and direct you based on what he has already seen about your future. You can't see your future, but he's already seen it because he's already planned it. And so if you'll live in line with his plan for your life, then you are walking by his sight. Now, for example, it says over there, in Matthew 8:17, Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses. Do you know, we weren't there to see that. We weren't there to see when Jesus took our infirmities and bear our sicknesses. But God saw it. And so he tells us what he saw, and we believe what he saw. So we're not walking blind, we're walking by God's sight. We're not walking by natural sight, we're walking by God's sight. Now. Then it says over in Philippians 4:19, regarding someone who, who is a giver, it says, my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Do you know that he's saying that from a place of having seen your future, when it says, my God shall supply, it's so definite, but it means that you haven't even arrived at that day yet. But he's already telling you what your future looks like. My God shall supply all my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Your eyes haven't seen that but God's eyes have why? Because he sits in eternity and he can look down the spoke of the past, he can look down the spoke of the present, he can look down the spoke of the future. And then he tells you what he has seen. So we're not walking blind, we're walking by what God has seen. And we trust that what he tells us is the truth. Let God be found true. Amen. It's the truth and no lie when God says it. So when your body says you're not healed, but God said Himself took your infirmities and bear your sicknesses, you believe what God has already seen and what God has said. And everything that you feel must come in line with what you choose to believe. Amen. So just know this. When we walk this life of faith, it is there is no risk to the life of faith because we are walking by what God has already said and what God has already seen. So it doesn't matter if we don't see it. He's already seen it. And we trust what he has seen. And if we'll hold to what he says, we will see it too. So it does matter what we're focused on. This life of faith will give us the best life. And God has declared and determined that his children shall walk by faith. Because he knows that's how you live the best life. When you walk by faith, you don't have to wait for outward circumstances to change before you're peaceful or joyful. Because you already know the outcome. Because faith has shown you the outcome. Amen. Well, you don't want to miss next time. And until next time, remember this Jesus is the Healer. God bless you.

Podcast: Jesus the Healer w/ Nancy Dufresne Audio Podcast
Episode: 984 | In Christ I Can, Part 224
Date: April 9, 2026
Host/Teacher: Nancy Dufresne
This episode continues Nancy Dufresne’s long-running “In Christ I Can” teaching series, with a focus on understanding the rich inheritance and power believers possess in Christ. Nancy explores scriptural foundations for living free from feelings of deficiency, overcoming the limitations imposed by past experiences, and learning to walk by faith, using what God has given for His purpose. The tone is pastoral, exhortative, and faith-filled, with repeated encouragements to "receive" rather than strive, to focus on the present and future in Christ, and to let go of the past through faith in God's Word.
Nancy Dufresne calls listeners to embrace the freedom and authority they have in Christ, to use the present and future for God’s purpose without being limited by the past, and to boldly “rewrite” their lives by faith. The life of faith is portrayed as one of joy, peace, and certainty—not subject to the limitations of circumstances, negative memories, or human wisdom, but built on the unshakeable foundation of Christ’s finished work and God’s promises.
Memorable Closing:
“When you walk by faith, you don’t have to wait for outward circumstances to change before you’re peaceful or joyful. Because you already know the outcome. Because faith has shown you the outcome. Amen.” ([27:00])
(For anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of faith, healing, and living in the fullness of Christ, this episode is a practical and inspiring resource.)
