There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say, I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now.

Welcome. We're so glad to have you with us today for Jesus the healer. Thank you for taking the time to spend with us. And we invite you. Get your Bible, get something to take notes on. Because. Because we're believing, God, that you're going to hear answers for the things that you need to know in this life. And just know this, the Word is our answer book. And so we can say today, as we're feeding on the Word, that we are feeding our faith because the Word of God is food for our spirits. And how many of you know that the faith of God is in your spirit? So when we feed the Word into our spirit, our faith is also being fed. And not only that, the faith that God has provided, it comes by hearing what he's saying. So we're just so glad that we get to feed on the Word together, grow together. And know this. It's not just the hearing that we're interested in, it's also the doing so that we're hearing the Word so that we'll better know how to do the Word. The hearing of the Word is not the completion of what God offers us because he offers us the Word to hear so that our doing will be affected. And so we're just so grateful that you're hungry for the Word and we are just enjoying spending this time with you because we're going to continue in our series called In Christ I Can. And so we've been on this for a while and so many of you have joined us all along the way in this series. And if you've missed any of the episodes, go back and watch them. Because although I'm very repetitive in the series that's on, that's not because I've forgotten what I preached on. It's just that we know that to establish these truths in us we have to not only plant it, but water it. We have to hear it over and over and over. Because full faith doesn't come with one hearing. We need. We need repeated hearings of the word of God. And that is a safety to us. It's a safety to our faith, and it's a safety to our spiritual development. And so we have been looking, as our golden text, we've been looking at Colossians chapter two, verse nine. And this is the living Bible translation Paul was writing. And he said, for in Christ there is all of God in a human body. So you have everything when you have Christ. And you are filled with God through your union with Christ. Look at that statement. You are filled with God, filled through your union with Christ. Everything Christ has, we have. Why is that? He's the head, we're the body. So the head and the body always share the same flow. Not only that, he is the vine, we are the branches. There's nothing of the vine that has been withheld from the branch. The branch is to. Is to partake of everything that flows through that vine. And so anything that Jesus receives, we receive. And we are. We are co heirs, joint heirs with Christ. So everything that belongs to him belongs to us. Why is that? Because Jesus brought us into oneness with the Father. Just as he and the Father are one, we have been made one with the Father through the price that Jesus paid for us. So know this. It is such a large statement that when we read here in Colossians chapter 2, verse 10. So you have everything when you have Christ. Nothing of God has been withheld, nothing of his integrity, nothing of his attributes, nothing of his flow. And his ability has been withheld from us because we are made one with the Father. And this is what made the religious leaders so mad during Jesus day. Because he would declare the Father and I are one. And the intellect of the natural man could not fathom that. In fact, it infuriated them for him to presume for him to declare that he was one with the Father. But that was not Jesus taking something, something to himself inappropriately. That was the mind of the Father. That was the wisdom and the plan of the Father. And I want you to know that God's plan is that we also be one with Him. And that's why he sent Jesus. And so that we are one with the Father, there's nothing of him that he has withheld from us. And so we need to learn to live as rich as we are. Again, it says in Colossians 2, verse 10, so you have everything when you have Christ. Now, in that everything is the success of God. Do you know that God has never failed at anything he's ever done? People have failed God, but God has never failed. And so even in the Garden of Eden, God is the one who placed Adam in the garden, but God is also the one who had him removed. And it wasn't because God missed it. It was because man missed it. Adam is the one that missed it. It wasn't God's failure when Adam failed. It was man's failure. And I want you to know God has never failed at anything he has done. And so because we are one with our Father, that His success is our success. How can that be? Because he's teaching us how he moves, how he operates. He's teaching us his ways. And not only that, he has offered us his thoughts, his wisdom. That the Word of God is the thoughts of God. And so he offers us his way of thinking. He offers us divine thoughts. And how many of you know, it's a sound mind that will say, I take the thoughts of God. And if my own, my own thinking is contrary to what God says in His Word, I lay down my way of thinking so that I can pick up God's way of thinking. And that's called the renewing of the mind. We're choosing higher thoughts, we're choosing divine ways, we're choosing divine thinking. And so in that divine flow is divine success. There is. It's not possible for God to fail because he has all wisdom. And in the mind of God, he has taken his thoughts and he has shared them with us through His Word and by His Spirit. And so when, whenever we draw from the Greater One who is on the inside of us, that's how we're going to have the same flow of success in our life. I want you to look at Isaiah, chapter 48 in verse 17. This is the King James translation, Isaiah 48, 17. It reads, I am the Lord thy God. Look at the. Look at this. Which teacheth thee. Look. We have a divine instructor. We have a divine lead. He doesn't just leave us to ourselves, but he teaches us how he moves, how he thinks, how he flows. Because he wants to bring us into that in our everyday life. So he said, I am the Lord thy God, which teacheth thee to profit. Now, how is he going to teach us? He's going to teach us through His Word and by His Spirit. He's not going to teach us through hardship, through sending difficulties, through sending failure, through sending crisis and tragedy. That's not love's way of teaching us. He teaches us through His Word. And as His Spirit will lead us, we can learn the thoughts of God, the ways of God. But know this, that we have to choose to be good students of the way he teaches us. Now, we can face situations, we can face hardships, we can face tragedies, and we can learn something in that. But that wasn't God's way of teaching us. If we'll just listen. It's so much better to listen and learn through what God says than to learn through hardship. And so God says here in Isaiah 48:17, I am the Lord thy God, which teacheth thee to profit. So how is he going to teach us? Through His Word and by His Spirit. So it says again, I am the Lord thy God, which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. Do you know the way you should go is very particular to the plan of God for your life. There's a general code of living. There's a general standard that God's Word has put in place for all of his children. But then there's very. There's things that are very specific to your life based on what God has planned for your life. And he's the only one who can teach you the way that you should go. Because you can't look at someone else's life and say, well, I'm going to take the same direction that they took. Well, not if that's not God's plan. And so you have to learn this. God expects the same standard of faith, the same standard of living, the same standard of walking and being led by His Spirit, by. But also, what about the nine fruits of the Spirit? They're to be present in all of his children, operating and dominating them. But yet, when it comes to paths that we're to take, we have to be taught by God what is the way that I should go, what direction should I take? And notice here it says that God will teach us that by his word and by His Spirit. So know this. We don't know it all time until we hear what he says to us. Till we're listening and teachable and easy to be led. We don't want to be someone who's hard to lead, but we're willing to be led. And so he said he will lead us by the way that thou shouldest go. So I want us to look again at that verse, and I want to focus on one word. It says, I am the Lord thy God, which teaches thee to profit. He's not just speaking only about a financial, economic flow. He's talking about what the Hebrew word, the word prophet means is to climb, to ascend, to excel, to gain ground. And listen to this rise above circumstances. If we're getting under circumstances, being pushed around and dominated by something that is opposing us and coming against us, we're not profiting as we ought. And so God will teach us how to stay out of the wrong flow and stay in the right flow. But notice the next phrase that if we're going to climb, if we're going to excel, if we're going to extend, if we're going to ascend, he's not talking about what belongs to us in Christ, in that we have already been raised and seated with Christ. He's talking about in this life there's always more, there's always development, there's always increase, there's always further that we can go with God. That's not diminishing that we've been raised and seated with Christ. But it means in our experience our life should reflect the raised seat that we occupy, that it should show up in every arena of life that we are on the increase that we have to realize this God is a God of more. And not only is he a God of more, He's a God of more than enough. And there is a place called more than enough that we're to occupy and live in. But we have to be taught by the word of God, led by the Spirit, so that we can occupy the highest flow that God has for us. We never should be okay with a life that's not advancing, a life that's not developing, a life that's not reaching for more and pressing for more. Because God will not teach us to stay stagnant. He will not teach us to stay neutral, he will not teach us to be pushed down or be pushed under. But he will teach us to profit. He'll teach us to climb, he'll teach us to advance, he'll teach us to go further. And really when it talks about climbing, it's talking about how in the animal kingdom you'll have these mountain animals that, I mean, they can climb just almost straight rock walls, that the hardness of the terrain does not stop their advancement. And that's what this is referring to. When it's talking about climbing, it's not self effort that has, is looking for ambition that causes it to go higher, ambitions, a natural flow. We don't have to go by the way of ambition. When we can follow the plan of God. And the plan of God brings us into the highest. But I am saying this. We do have to know how do we keep going when everything in front of us looks like it's impossible? Well, God will teach you how to profit. He'll teach you how to keep ascending in the face of difficulty, in the face of hardship. And that's what we see in this scripture. And he will teach us to. To take more ground. God doesn't want us to never keep increasing. We should look back over our life and we should say how different our life looks from 10 years ago, from five years ago. But also, what about from just last year? There should be advancement. There should be proof that we are profiting. There should be proof that we're advancing. There should be proof that. That we are laying hold of more than we had laid hold of previously. If we're not advancing, I would have to ask this. Are we allowing him to teach us? Are we being a good student of the One who is endeavoring to teach us? And why do people. Why do they not follow what God is leading them in? Because they've already decided something different. And it is not just our privilege to have God as our Father, but it is our privilege to become a student to his teaching, to become a student to the Holy Spirit, who is our divine teacher, to become a good student of the Word. What's that mean? We're teachable, which includes we listen. You know, sometimes people, their listening skills diminish when they think they know more than they do. And because of that, they. They face unnecessary hardship. I just don't want to have difficulty for one reason. I wouldn't listen. And so God will teach us to profit. He'll teach us to advance. He'll teach us to take more ground. But it's going to be up to how tender we are, how willing we are to be led, how quick we are to believe what we hear him say to us. So whether or not we're advancing is not just dependent on him, it's dependent on us. Amen. But I don't know. I like this verse. Don't you like it? That God has committed that he will teach you and he'll teach you to not stay in the same place he found you, that it's not okay, that we can. You know, people will say, well, God loves me as I am. You? Yes, he loves you as you are. And that's why he won't leave you as you are. Because he loves you too much to leave you the way he found you. And so as a, as a parent, I love my children too much to, to leave them where they were yesterday or last year. I always want them to advance. And so know this, there's always more. And we need to live in that place called more. We need to live in the mindset that I'm always willing to lay hold more that God makes available. But to do that, I'm going to have to be a good student of the One who's teaching me. Amen. And so he will teach us to profit. He'll teach us to take higher ground. And when we become good students and we follow his lead and we will go where he's endeavoring to bring us, he will bring us not just into higher ground flows, but higher assignments, higher responsibilities. You know, sometimes people get the idea of I just don't want more responsibility on me in life. Do you know that the mindset of God is that the reward of faithfulness is more. The reward of faithfulness is more responsibility. God's reward for someone who's faithful is not to take less or less off their plate. But now he gives them higher assignments, further assignments. So never look at greater responsibilities as a negative. That's taking something out of your life. Because you'll remember when we had the parable in the Bible of the one who gave one servant ten talents, he gave another servant five talents. He gave the third servant one talent and then he left for a while. And then when he returned home, he wanted them to reckon with him. What did you do with what I gave you? And the one who had 10 gained 10 more. The one who had been given 5, gained 5 more. The one who had been Given 1 did nothing with it. Now it's not a coincidence that the homeowner or the landowner, the one that was dealing with him, only gave that one. One. He knew something about that one. He only entrusted with one talent. But notice he did nothing with it. He didn't lose it, but he didn't gain. And it's not enough in this life to have the mentality, I just don't want to lose, I just don't want to lose ground. No, God does. It's, that's not victory to just be stationary, to just stay where you've always been in the mind of God. There should always be increase, advancement, development. Amen. And so what did he say to that one who had done nothing with that talent that the master had given him? He buried it so he wouldn't lose it. And the master called him unfaithful. He called him A wicked servant. And what did he do? He took the one talent and gave it to the one who had 10 talents. So what was the reward? One of the rewards of the one who had gained 10 talents more? He got the talent that was intended for someone else. I don't want someone else to get my portion that God intended for me. I want to be faithful and I want to keep gaining ground with that which God has entrusted to me. And just know this, the reward of faithfulness is more responsibility. And that's, that's a joy, that's not a hardship, that's not a weight. That is another opportunity to draw on the One who's teaching us to profit. Amen. Teaching us to advance, teaching us to go further. So God wants more for us. And I have to say this, we need to make sure we want more for us. Because sometimes people can become very stationary in their desires. They become to where they get so used to where they're at that they are not really they're okay with right where they're at. And if that's all you want, God will be okay with that for you, but he offers you more. And so I would say this. We have to learn to stir up our desires. You know Mark 11:23, whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. And then what do we see in that verse? Really? The message of that is, things will obey you, talk to him. That's essentially what that verse means. Anything gets in your way, talk to it. It'll obey faith. It'll obey the words that you believe work in your life. And then we see verse 24. Jesus is speaking. He said, I say unto you what things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them. So verse 24 is teaching us this, how to have our desires met. What things soever you desire. When you pray, believe that you receive them. So know this. Verse 23 is telling us how to deal with obstacles, opposition, hindrances. Verse 24 is telling us how now, now all your desires can be met because there's nothing in your way so that your desires can be met. That mountain's been removed, the hindrance has been removed, the opposition is removed. So now reach for the desires to be fulfilled. But notice this, sometimes people think, what's a faith issue with verse 24? What things soever you Desire. When you pray, believe. They focus on the word believe. But it doesn't start with believe in that verse. It starts with desire. Many times people think that they have a minimal measure of faith when sometimes they have a stunted flow of desire. Increase your desire, because your faith will rise to the level of that desire. When you really want something, all of a sudden you'll believe really easy for something you really want. It's things that you don't have much of a desire for that you struggle in your faith with. So know this. God wants you to have not just the best. He wants you to have his plan, his dream, his desire for you. Don't settle for a limited desire that humanly you can fathom, that you can concoct. But what about this? He desires something for you. Find out, Father, what is it that you desire for me? Because that will enrich your life so much more than anything you could ever come up with on your own. So know this. He said that he will take teach us to profit. He will teach us to not stay where we've always been. And know this. You don't have to live with the mindset. Nothing's ever going to be different. Yes, it will, if you'll follow how he's teaching you. If we'll become doers of how he's teaching us, we will always advance into more. And I want you to know, nothing's more boring than living a rutted life. Just staying in the same vein, nothing new, nothing fuller ever happening. If you're bored with your life, listen to the teacher. He'll teach you how to profit. If you're dissatisfied with where you're at, listen to the teacher. He'll teach you how to profit. He'll teach you how to advance. But the one thing about our advancement. God does not force us into advancement. He leads us into it. He will teach us which way to go. But know this. It's us who have to take the steps to follow the way he's leading us. So there's no reason that we should ever live this life. Cheated, dissatisfied. Feeling unfulfilled on the inside. Because the way he's leading us will never cheapen our life. It will give us the best life. So we should never lay our head down at night and say, my insides are unfulfilled. If that be the case, then we're invited to pay attention to what he's saying to us. That we feed on his word, we follow his spirit because he will teach us the way we should go and the way we should go is into profit. The way we should go is into advancement. Why? Because when we advance other people's lives who are connected to us, they're encouraged in their advancement. Know this. Your children, parents, your children are nothing but passengers in the vehicle of your life. If your life goes if your the vehicle of your life goes the wrong direction, your children are carried the wrong direction. But if you will follow the leading of God, follow the Spirit, follow the Word of God, be teachable that that teachability, that obedience to follow him will lead the vehicle of your life into advancement. And your children will be carried as passengers into more that God has for them too. So know this. When you advance everyone around you that's connected to your life and under your authority, they can advance too. And so God won't leave us like he found us. Let's keep going for more. Amen. Well, we're going to keep going this direction next time. And until then, remember this Jesus is the Healer. God bless you.

Episode 996 | In Christ I Can, Part 236 | April 27, 2026
In this episode of “Jesus the Healer,” Nancy Dufresne continues her extensive series “In Christ I Can,” focusing on the believer’s oneness with Christ, the inheritance that flows from that union, and God’s desire for ongoing spiritual and practical advancement. Nancy unpacks the necessity of “feeding on the Word,” the process of renewing the mind, and the importance of being teachable, guided by Colossians 2 and Isaiah 48. She challenges listeners to live beyond stagnation, embracing God’s pattern of consistent growth, advancement, and increase.
The Word of God is characterized as spiritual food. Faith is not just inherited—it is fed and strengthened through continual exposure to the Word.
Emphasizes the need for repetition:
The foundational passage is Colossians 2:9-10:
Believers are to live out of the reality of this oneness, receiving all that Christ has.
God never fails; His success becomes accessible through union with Him and learning His ways.
Encourages choosing divine thoughts over natural thinking:
Focuses on God as the “divine instructor,” who teaches His people to profit or advance—not simply financially, but in every area of life.
God teaches and leads us through the Word and the Holy Spirit—not through hardship or tragedy.
The episode is a call to:
Memorable Closing:
“God won’t leave us like He found us. Let’s keep going for more. Amen.” (27:04)
