There's enough power in every sick room and in every hospital room to raise up that sick one that may be describing you. You may be in a sick room, you may be in a hospital room. And I want to remind you, power is present. That power is there to do a work, believe in what's not. Try to get something, but notice that he's already made it yours. It's present right where you're at. Say I receive that power. I receive that power. I receive it right now. I receive it right now from the top of my head. From the top of my head. The soles of my feet. The soles of my feet. Welcome. We're so glad to have you with us today for Jesus the Healer. We're continuing on the series that we've been on called In Christ I Can. And we have some resources we'd like to offer you to get into your hands. We have a small booklet called In Him Scriptures. And this is just a sampling of some of the scriptures that tell us who we are in Christ and who he is in us and through us. And then we also have a larger resource that contains all of the In Him Scriptures. And with this is with that has included in it up to 229 Bible translations that had been referred to. So friends of this ministry took resources that drew on all those different translations and drew the best out of that, compiled it for us to offer to you. And it is 120 pages in that larger document. And you can get these completely for free by going to our web site@jesusthehealer.org Go to the bookstore page and you can download that for free so that you can have it on your device or you can print it out. But we want to get that into your hands so you can feed on those and meditate on them. We've been using as our golden text in this Series Colossians chapter 2, verses 9 and 10 of the Living Bible translation. Paul is writing and he said, for in Christ there is all of God in a human body. So you have everything when you have Christ. And you are filled with God through your union with Christ. Now this is why we're majoring on In Christ, because if we don't recognize this, we will live, allowing the devil to cheat us of really the best life that God authored for us. So when he says Paul in Colossians 2, verse 10, he said, so you have everything when you have Christ that is so diverse, that is so broad that is so rich you are. It's so full of the best life that God is offering us. And I would say this we've been looking at, especially in previous episodes, at Isaiah 48, verse 17, because this is what part of what belongs to us, when everything belongs to us. And so Isaiah 48, verse 17, the King James translation, God is speaking. And he said, I am the Lord thy God, which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. So he has a plan for your life, and he's the only one who can lead you into that plan. But he says that in his plan for us that he'll teach us to profit. That word is not just an economic or financial word. In the Hebrew, the word profit means to climb, to ascend, to, to excel, to gain ground, to rise above circumstances. Now look at this word when it says climb. Now, I know that in Christ, and you always have to remember this when you're reading out of the Old Testament, you have to bring it through Calvary, you have to bring it into the New covenant, meaning the New Covenant updates the Old Covenant. And so we can see that under the New Covenant, it's a better covenant. Why? Because in Christ we've been brought into things that the Old Testament saints did not have available to them. So we know this in Christ as new creatures in Christ as those who are under the new, better covenant, that we've been raised and seated with Christ in heavenly places. But this verse in Isaiah says the definition for prophet. One definition is to climb. And, and you say, well, why do I need to climb whenever I've already been raised and seated with Christ? Well, what he's talking about is climbing. He's talking about advancing against anything that would try to stand in your way. So when we see this word climb, it's really pointing back to mountain animals in the wild, that when they want to get up to the top of a terrain, they'll climb really almost completely straight rock walls. That that rock wall will not deter them from reaching where they intend to go. And so this is exactly what belongs to us in Christ. When something stands as an obstacle in front of our way, God teaches us how not to stay at the bottom of that thing. He teaches us how to keep advancing no matter what tries to stand in our way, no matter what tries to hinder us. And you say, well, we can. The Word says that we can remove mountains, yes, but we can also look at mountains and not be fearful and say, well, I can't go There because there's obstacles in my way. No, no obstacle is to hold us back from our advancement. And that's what we need to understand, that things that stopped other people don't have to stop us. Things that kept other people from going further doesn't have to keep us back in fear, afraid of what we'll face. Because we have on the inside of us the one who will teach us to rise above everything, live independent of circumstances, not be intimidated by what we will see in this life. And so it says in Isaiah 48, 17 that. That the Lord thy God will teach thee to profit. Now, we choose to be good students, right? He can teach us, but we have to be good students. So he said that he will teach us and he will lead us by the way that we should go. How are we going to profit? How are we going to advance? How are we going to increase? How are we going to go into more than we've ever experienced before? Well, I want you to know it's going to involve our faith. We cannot leave out our faith. God is going to teach us to go into more by his word, by His Spirit. But we have to bring our faith to God's word and we have to obey the leading of the Spirit. That means this, that our faith is to be continually advancing, continually developing, growing stronger, and the measure of our faith ever increasing. The Bible talks about different measures of faith. It talks about little faith, great faith. It talks about even dead faith. And what does dead faith means? It means it's not even moving. It's got no movement to it. And so we don't ever want to have a faith that can't keep pace with the plan of God. In Second Thessalonians chapter 1 and verse 3. This is the King James translation of Second Thessalonians chapter 1, verse 3. Paul is writing and he said, we are bound to thank God always for you brethren, as it is meet or as it is right. Look at this next statement. Because your faith groweth exceedingly and the charity or the love of every one of you who all toward each other aboundeth. So notice this. He joined in this statement. The quality of faith and their love that they they need to move together. But I want you to see that he said this. Your faith groweth exceedingly. So when it says in Isaiah that he will teach us to profit, how about teaching our faith to grow? How about teaching our faith to advance our faith to lay hold of more? Because the. The plan of God not only calls for our faith, it requires our faith because we can only advance with God by faith. So I want us to talk about if we're going to advance and God's going to teach us to profit. He's going to teach us to advance and come into higher places than we've ever been before. We're going to have to pay attention to our faith. And so let's just. For. Just. For in this episode especially, let's focus on what are we going to do with our faith. Let's go back to the basics. Number one. To have a faith that moves with God, to have a faith that is advancing, number one, we have to plant the word in us. In First Corinthians 3, 9, the Amplified classic translation says this. For we are fellow workmen, joint promoters, laborers together with and for God. Listen to this. You are God's garden and vineyard, and filled under cultivation. You are God's building. Notice this, that God calls you his garden. What is in the garden? It's a place to plant something. You are the place that God is planting the Word. And when we receive that Word planted in us, it will produce fruit. It'll produce a life that brings glory to God. So to move with God, to be able to advance in this life, number one, we have to make sure we're planting the Word in us. In previous episodes, we talked about this in more detail. We want you to go back and watch those. Those were about two episodes, two to three episodes ago, but we're going to refer to these again today and then go further with it. But the Word of God is the seed that's to be planted in us. And know this, that the seed is powerless until it's planted. It won't help our life until we plant that seed in our life. And know this, nothing can take the place of the seed of God's Word. We can pray and pray and pray, but that won't take the place of planting the seed of God's Word. Prayer is good. Prayer is right. But prayer isn't the seed for faith. The Word is the seed for faith. We can't pray our way into faith, but we must sow the seed of God's Word so that we can have a strong, robust faith that's growing. The revelation of what God shows us in His Word, it's revealing to us what God is eager to do for us. So we eagerly plant that Word in in us. Amen. Getting full of that. That Word keeps us from being swayed off of what God has said to us. Many times. When people find themselves in a weakened condition, Spiritually, it's because they need to fill up with that Word. Because the Word, the fullness of the Word will hold us strong, hold us steady in the face of adversity. The number two thing that we do, once we plant the seed of God's Word in our hearts, in our spirits, that seed has to be watered. If the seed is neglected, it will dry up, but we have to water that seed. How do we water the seed of God's Word? We keep hearing the Word. The first time you hear the truth of God's Word taught, that is the sowing of the seed. But the next time you hear it, that's the watering of the seed. That's why when you go to church and the pastor is preaching something you've always, you've already heard before, it's lack of knowledge that will say, well, I've heard that before. No, your pastor not only needs to help you plant that seed, he needs to help you water that seed. So what's that mean? You need to hear the same truths over and over and over whenever. If a farmer were taking water to a seed and, and starts watering it day after day, the seed would never say, you gave me that yesterday, I don't need it today. The seed would never say that the seed will eagerly take in that water because it knows in the moisture is when this seed can bear fruit. And so we never become so familiar or treat the Word as common as though I've already heard that. No, our attitude and our approach should teach it to me again, tell it to me again, because that's my safety, that's my watering for what I'm believing God for. So we need to hear the Word repeatedly. Now, many times, if I'm faced with a need, I don't jump from sermon to sermon to sermon to sermon, trying to find something that will help me get receive what God has for me. Many times the Spirit of God would lead me to a sermon, lead me to a message, and when he does, I listen to that one over and over and over and over and over. Why? Because faith comes by hearing and hearing. It doesn't come by hearing, then jumping to another hearing, then jumping to another hearing, it's by hearing many times the same, the same word over and over and over. That's why it's so important that even in our watering, pay attention to how the Spirit's leading you look to him to guide you in how to water that seed that's in your heart. And so, number one, we plant the seed of God's Word number two, we water the seed because the garden is a place for growth. When we're watering the seed, we're also meditating on the seed. We're speaking it to ourself. We're thinking about it. We're keeping it in the forefront of our attention. You know, if, if. If we're, if we're faced with some kind of situation and God shows us the Word that will. That's the answer for that need. If we just kind of keep it on the back burner of our life. You know what I mean by that? Rarely giving it attention. We would have to say, well, how interested are we in our. In our victory over this if we're not really giving it attention? You know, when a student is in school and he needs to pass or she needs to pass a certain test so they can advance to the next grade, they're giving those studies full attention because they know if I don't. If I don't get this, if I don't find out, discover the answers for that test, I don't advance. Well, it's the same thing. If we don't give ourselves to the Word, we're not going to advance the way God intends that we do. So it's not enough to say, I've heard that. I want to keep hearing that word, meditate on it, keep it in the forefront of our attention. I want you to know the test date is at the forefront of a student's attention. They're thinking, finals are coming, midterms are coming. They're thinking about those dates because they know their advancement is on the other side of how they treat that. And so I want you to know that we are to give the Word our full attention because our advancement is on the other end of that when we give it our proper attention. Now, the third thing that's involved in a faith that lays hold of what God has for us is number one, it's plant. The word number two, it's repeated waterings of the word. Number three, it's cultivation. We have to cultivate that seed. I want to read to you the definition of the word cultivate. It means to till. Look at this. It means to prepare for crops. What's that mean? Prepare for a harvest. Prepare that ground for fruit. It means to plow. It means to dress. It means to sow and reap. It means to labor on. It means to manage and improve the way the ground is handled. To cultivate the land or to cultivate a farm. You know, my dad was a cotton and wheat farmer. In southwest Oklahoma. And one thing that he did before he planted a seed, he paid attention to what the soil needed. He would go out and he would many times add minerals or whatever that ground was lacking. He would add something in it. He would test the soil because he knew that was all part of cultivating. It wasn't just so the seed get a harvest, but what was the condition of the soil? What was that seed going to need to produce its highest? And so another thing that we see about this word cultivate, because that's all part of the sowing and reaping process. It means to improve by labor or study. Look at that. That's a definition of cultivate. To improve by labor or study. My daddy would study the ground to find out how to treat it, what to mix into it, what did that soil need before he put that seed in? He wasn't mindless about the health of the ground or about the quality of the ground. You know, it was funny because my dad being raised. Being raised, you know, in that farmer's household, I heard my daddy talk about the weather. I heard him talk about all kinds of things about the seed, about harvest time, every aspect of it. We heard about it in the house. And we also heard him talk about land that was desirable, you know, really. He could get seed about anywhere, but he couldn't get good land just anywhere. Good land was hard to come by. And I remember when he came to California with my family, and daddy was amazed. You know, where. Where we live in southern California, it's predominantly desert. And so he would drive up as we were driving him from the airport to the house, and daddy would look out the car window, and he goes, this is the sorriest land I've ever seen. He was talking about farmland. He was talking about land that he was used to seeing. And my mother would say, kenneth, they don't grow cotton here. They grow houses here. So mother knew, what will this land best produce? And so mother knew, it'll produce houses. It won't produce cotton, but it'll produce houses. Because the land will always produce something if it's handled right. And so this is what you have to do. Study. What does your ground need? What is going to help produce the most? Sometimes people need to get rid of some things before they even try to plant the seed. You know, what am I talking about? If there's bad memories of the past, hardship, ill will, unforgiveness, offense, don't plant the seed amongst that. Those weeds will choke out the fruitfulness of the seed. You're wasting it. Get rid of those things that will rob from the seed. And I want you to know, the seed of God's word is so potent, it is so powerful, but weeds can certainly choke out that word. And so Daddy would always study the ground. And many times he would mow, he would plow up to get rid. If there had grown weeds in the field before it was time to plant, he'd deal with those. He wouldn't plant his seed among those weeds. He got rid of the weeds before he planted the seed. And then once he. Once he sowed that seed, he paid attention to make sure those weeds didn't come back. And if they tried to come back, he'd deal with them. We're the same way. We have to make sure that what's tried to trouble us in the past doesn't try to resurface and try to live with us again. We have to say, oh, no, you don't. Because if you do, you rob the power of the seed. You cause that seed to not produce to its fullest. And so Daddy was always looking for the quality of ground, and he always desired irrigated land over dry land. Dry land is dependent upon the elements, the water, the rain, what happened in the weather. But irrigated land always had a source that it could always receive watering. That was the most valuable land. That was the land that you could always count on to produce. And so just pay attention. Study. What, what, what does my ground need? You know, there is such a thing. The Bible talks in, in Mark, chapter four, it talks about the four different kinds of dirt. That's really talking about the quality of someone's heart, the soil of their heart. And it said, out of the four different kinds of ground, only one of them even produced. And then that one out of four that produced that was only at thirty, sixty, hundredfold. Well, if we want to produce one hundredfold fruit, we have to be hundredfold ground. You can't be a ground that has ill will and unforgiveness offense and then think that you're going to produce a hundredfold harvest out of that. We have to say, well, I don't want to just win my way. I want to bear the most fruit in my life. And so you deal with things that would rob you of the richest harvest. And so this is one definition of this word, cultivate. It means to improve by labor or study. Do you know what we need to make sure that we're acquainted with what are we allowing in our hearts? And we deal with it. Study the quality of the soil of our heart. What are we letting in and what are we going to deal with? Amen. And then another definition of cultivate means to advance the growth of. To refine. Listen to this definition. To improve by correction of faults. That's a definition of cultivate. Doesn't that speak to our life? To improve the quality of the soil, our heart by. To improve it by correction of faults. Meaning this. You can't just say, well, that's just the way I am. Well, correct that. If that's robbing you of the highest flow, correct that. Don't just say, well, that's just the way I was always raised. That's the way I was always taught. That's just my personality. If it's a fault, correct it. If it's robbing you of the highest flow, correct it. Another definition of cultivate means enlargement of powers or good qualities. Now, my dad would take minerals and throw it into that soil and he'd plow that into that to cause the quality of the soil to be increased. So always mix the right thing in with your heart. And that's what it means. Enlargement of powers or good qualities. Another one, a definition of cultivate is to cultivate talents, things that God has endowed your life with. Develop those, don't ignore those, because God gave them into you to be cultivated. You know, it's not enough to have a grace or, or gifting that has to be practiced that has to be cultivated. I was a classical piano performance major in college. I can't tell you the hours and hours and hours that I spent on the piano. I mean, from the time I was in fifth grade to the time I was well into my 20s, I felt like I lived on the piano bench. It wasn't enough to have a gifting, I had to cultivate it. You can have everything that God's ever blessed you with, but leave it uncultivated and no one benefits from it. It's not enough to have the ability. That ability has to be developed. It has to be improved. Another definition of this word, cultivate, is to cherish. You know, you have to value that. The word is going to go into my heart. I'm going to value how I treat that word. And then to cultivate the love of every excellence. Listen to that. That's a definition of cultivate. Cultivate the love of excellence. Well, why? Because when we are okay with less than something excellent, then we're going to settle for something less than God offers us. The Bible talks about Solomon, it says that when the Queen of Sheba saw his wisdom, how do you see wisdom? It showed up as excellence. Everywhere she looked around him, she saw such a standard of excellence. She knew that that was an outflow of wisdom. And so to cultivate one definition is to cultivate the love of excellence. Another definition, to cultivate gracious affections. Ah, what's it talking about? Do you know manners? You know etiquette, that that is cultivating gracious affections, that if we have a low, if we keep ourselves at an inappropriate level of etiquette, there are some places we'll never be invited into. You know, you can go to some restaurants and they'll say, you can't come to this restaurant if you're not dressed properly. Then if you don't come up to their standard, then that means you're going to have to go somewhere else. So what's this mean? If we'll raise our level of excellence, God can take us into places where we couldn't have gone until we raised that level. People think, well, God can take me anywhere. Not if we won't come up. Not if we won't allow him to bring us up into a more excellent flow. This is part of cultivate. Now, when we plant the word, when we water the word, when we cultivate our ground, getting rid of offense, getting rid of unforgiveness, getting rid of wrong thinking, renewing our mind. All this is cultivating the ground, renewing the mind, thinking in line with God's thoughts, getting rid of something that's going to hinder the fruit. Now we can put in and receive a harvest. We can take our faith and we receive that harvest by faith. We plant a seed by faith, but we also reap a harvest by faith. Well, what are we going to do if we're going to be able to advance in what God has for us so that we can experience all that belongs to us in Christ? Number one, we're going to plant the word. Number two, we're going to water the word. Number three, we're going to cultivate that seed. We're going to protect the ground. We're going to keep out anything, any weed that would offend the seed. And then number four, we're going to use our faith and we're going to harvest and receive by faith. And the Holy Ghost will lead us how to harvest the seed. He will tell you, go buy that, invest in that, start that business. That is how one way we harvest on that seed. We've sown that seed. We water and that seed we've cultivated. Amen. Well, there's been a lot in this episode. You're going to have to listen to it again over and over and over, but we want you to join us next time. And until next time, remember this Jesus is the Healer. God bless you.
