My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is Startup Expert Warren Hogarth, who shares his tips for startup mastery He is passionate about the way we think and manage our money. In 2016 he launched Empower Finance based on the belief that all people deserve access to expert financial advice (and it should be available for free). Instead of going to some dusty old office, with an old guy in a grey suit telling you to stick everything in bonds or shares, you deal directly with your own financial advisor working for you 24 hours a day. As he says "We were fed up with banks and traditional "advisors" so we built Empower to be your independent, trusted financial advocate. Empower helps you stay on top of your finances, get objective, personalized recommendations to make your money go further, and discover and save hundreds of dollars per year. Check account balances & track your spending, Automatically save to build wealth or pay down credit debt, Find a high-interest savings account, Manage bills and renegotiate to save (utilities, mobile, security), Review subscriptions you're paying for and many more things too! Now you maybe saying "Why is it free?" and isn't that the quickest way for a company to go bust with all our financial information? Well for most people that might be the case, but today's guest has helped 3 companies go from $0 to $1 billion, and he's seen other companies go to $0 (after looking promising initially). Growing up in rural Australia, he studied engineering, and ended up as 1 of 8 Venture Partners at Sequoia. They've invested in companies like Square, Uber, WhatsApp, and AirBnB, and he stood shoulder to shoulder with founders to build large, enduring businesses (3 went from zero to over $1 billion). As he says "There's no guarantees in startups, but I have a lot of lessons learned on how to approach starting and growing a company" which I am bringing into Empower Finance everyday. So when did the idea to go it alone come to him? Was it overnight or bubbling under the surface for many years? And what is the biggest failing that people make when undertaking a startup? Lack of capital of lack of commitment? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Warren Hogarth Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Warren Hogarth such as: Warren shares the number one reason for a startup to fail, and you might be interested that it is rarely down to capital. Why a company is generally always going to go through a pivot to find it's true life calling. Not many companies get it right the first time. Warren shares that moment where he knew that he was on the wrong path, and the steps he took to get onto the right one. and lastly…. Why it is so important to start a business in a market where there are great tailwinds now and the next ten years. Dont let it never get going by lack of interest. How To Make Real Estate The True Smart Passive Income My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who has created huge success for himself almost from the first chance that he could. As he says "I knew from an early age that punching time clocks and working for someone else wasn't enough for me, which is what drove me into building businesses myself and being my own boss. Living a healthy and active lifestyle has always been important to me, that's why at the ripe ol' age of 21, I built my first company that coached clients on effective nutrition and fitness strategies. I began to grow my team and recruited and hired an epic sales team to keep things running smoothly. I ran a successful multi-million dollar company before I was old enough to rent a car. As soon as I realized how profitable real estate investments could be, I bought my first home as an investment. One home quickly became five, and when those five were doing really well, I just couldn't help but add more. I became obsessed with learning everything that I could about the business. Before I knew it, I had over 50 investment properties that were all performing well and the steady flow of passive income was proof of that. I was passionate and incredibly excited to tell everyone I knew about everything I learned. Today, I dedicate my time to mentoring other entrepreneurs, building my real estate investment portfolio, and helping other investors to build a brighter future through the power of passive real estate income." And now with his colleague Jeff Schechter, he is running the High Return Real Estate programme where they teach their students how to gain high return real estate opportunities that are unavailable elsewhere. The processes of acquisition, rehabbing, placement of tenants, and management are fully systemized to deliver properties that are well below market pricing, and perform at much higher returns than you could secure through traditional sources. Sounds good doesnt it....but is it? Is it something that falls into the category of passive income, or one where you are battling with terrible tenants and hassles you wouldnt want for anyone? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Jack Gibson Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Jack Gibson such as: Jack shares the reasons why he loves passive income strategies and why he develops these in every way that he can throughout his business. Why it is so important to find the skills sets in others that complement each other. You just cannot build a business on your own. Why Jack admits to struggling with "never being enough" in his business a why he keeps hi vacations to a week at a time. and lastly…. Why McDonald's became the biggest land owners in the world because they knew where the value of their business was...and it wasn't hamburgers.

Todays guest joining us on the Join Up Dots free podcast interview, is Dov Baron an Elite Mind Strategist specializing in the Psychology of High Performance Leadership. He serves as a mentor and adviser to corporate, creative and personal leaders. His company Baron Mastery Institute is the only resource for training tomorrow's leaders in the implementation of "The C.O.R.E Affluence System for Leadership". Being born in the UK in the late 1950's, even as a child he became fascinated with the undercurrent of human psyche. By the time he was twenty-one he had left his home country to travel and study many spiritual philosophies under a variety of spiritual masters. In June 1990 while free climbing in British Columbia, at approximately 120 feet, he reached for a rock that dislodged a bigger rock. This rock hit him in the face and sent him hurling onto the jagged rocks below. It was a tragic moment, a moment that might have ended his life, and in fact, in some ways it did. Now he describes that moment like this, "On that day I fell 120 feet from a self-imposed pedestal and landed on my ego." It was the end of the person he had been and in many ways the birth of "The Accidental Guru." I love this story, even before we have started the show, as it proves that there is no right time to start something, other than now. It's you that makes the decision to embrace your true self, and not the version of yourself that is being shown to the world. And our guest is doing just that and through his books, coaching, and leadership blog he is doing just that. So what was the person like before the accident, and does he look back with fondness or frustration as to the path he was on? And is this mission one that he feels led to do, almost a mission bigger than himself? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show, to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Dov Baron

Amazon Selling Is Where Its Happening, Thought about Amazon UK? My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who boldly tackled the side hustle whilst maintaining his role as a Director of Kurbis Engineering before travelling the world . And that my friends is what we strongly suggest on Join Up Dots. Start creating your online venture whilst still working for a living until that moment when you can step away and go for it bigtime. And today's guest is certainly going for it big time with his new platform teaching the world to smash it on Amazon Europe. Before starting his Amazon Europe journey, our guest had zero experience with running an online business. After university, he joined the corporate world in London but rapidly realized that it was not for him and so after launching his first Amazon brand in 2014, he was soon able to quit his job to travel the world and network with other successful Amazon sellers from around the globe. Today, he's generating 6 figures of revenue per month from over a dozen products in Europe. His experience led him to develop a specific, step-by-step system to find success with every product launched and now has developed his company FBA Frontiers because so many sellers he met had great businesses on Amazon.com, but had completely dismissed Europe. He's since made it his mission to help sellers overcome the barriers to entry in the EU and find success by bringing their products into Europe. Interesting stuff, and I am sure many of you out there will be scribbling down notes through this show. So what was the first product that bhe brought to market that really showed that he was on to something big? And do people need to create the product themselves or can they jump on the back of the affiliate route? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr John Cavendish Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with John Cavendish such as: How John started his business, by working around his full time employment for just a few hour each day and why he feels that you can do the same too. Why it is so important to surround yourself with the most positive people that you can find, which John has managed to do in abundance and is now reaping the rewards bigtime. Why having an exit plan in a business is such a good idea, as it will allow you to transition to what you want in life instead of getting trapped by what you have created. and lastly…. Why he feels that Amazon UK is such an amazing opportunity for anyone nowadays. How many businesses have a process that can be followed step by step for a new entrepreneur.

We live on planet money, so why do we have so much trouble getting some of it? Todays show is being released based on a question from a listener from Join Up Dots Hello there, A good morning to The Join Up Dots team. I have been listening to your shows for nearly 2 years now racking my brains to find a business idea. And everytime I come up with something I think to myself I can't afford this. I can't afford the website but hosting anything to get it off the ground and I seem to be going round and round in circles. Can you suggest any way that I can really bootstrap this so that I can get my idea going? I have spoken to many friends and they say it's a brilliant idea but as I say money is a huge issue and I'm too scared to put debt onto my credit card Thank you so much Jenny Castor, Millhaven, New York As you will hear from the show the quickest way to earn is to use the money we already have wisely. Most of us will simply live hand to mouth, where we use the money when we fancy it instead of making a plan to follow each month. Yeah, I know this sounds boring and the last thing that you want to do when you can be out having fun with your mates, but you only have to do this once. So in todays episode we discuss everything money and discover that we actually live in Planet Money. We just have to stop it floating away from us.

Decision making is hard, especially when you dont have all the information. But todays guest is a decision making master. He is the co-founder and CEO of Hireology. His mission to help business owners make better hiring decisions using predictive data and innovative technology. What this means, as far as I can see, and I am sure that our guest will tell me I am right or wrong on the show is instead of sitting down with someone and using the gut feeling of "I like this person, I could see them doing a good job in this company" you attract the right people by using cutting edge technology. Sending job positions through to mobile phones, attracting potential employees to your own bespoke company job board, wannabe employees do a series of tailored tests before even stepping foot in your business. You have the ability to take much of the manpower away from finding the good guys. And with old style hiring processes sitting at a miserable 50% success rate in finding the type of employees and company really wants then...you can see his mission to change things is needed across the world. Now personally you can see that today's guest has always been driven to change things for the better, he is nothing but driven (and of course very very busy it seems) After living in suburban Atlanta for 10 years, his family moved to the suburbs of Chicago in 1990 where he graduated from Crystal Lake South High School in 1994. He then received his Bachelor of Arts degree with a double-major in History and Communications from the University of Illinois before earning a master's degree in business administration from DePaul University, where he serves on the Board of Advisors for the Coleman Entrepreneurship Center. In 2010, he even placed himself as a Republican nominee and challenged for the Illinois Senate, representing the 7th district in the Chicago area. So where did he ignite his passion for changing the futures of people, through either job recruitment or in the wider political sense? And did he struggle like most entrepreneurs to get the ball rolling, or was the need he was aiming to fill simply crying out for his skills? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Adam Robinson. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Adam Robinson such as: Adam recalls the times in his life when he had no money, scrabbled around for two cents in his life, and shares why it is was so fun to be creative with his decisions at this time. We talk about the times when a business goes wrong, and why more often than not looking back you can clearly see the mistakes that can be learned from. Why Adam is a firm believer that there are no decisions that define your life. Make the decision, move forward and learn from what went wrong and right. and lastly…. We discuss how even the greatest product is quite simply a dead duck without marketing involved, and why this doesn't need to cost a lot of money. decision making is what makes a life.

My interview today on the Join Up Dots free business podcast is a lovely lady who was kind enough to allow me to spend time with her on her own show Freedom Academies.....Turbo Charge Your Success. Now during our conversation it was clear to me that this was a lady that I needed to get on Join Up Dots, as she has a story that shows all the characteristics that we find in the succesfull. She has motivation. She has hustle And alongside her business partner Laura West, a few years ago found themselves homeless The business they ran together was going south and they were exhausted. They had no option at all but to move into two rooms in the office. They had a problem that most business owners have at one time or another. They were very good at that they did, but nobody knew about it. Thye couldnt get their talents out into the world. They started researching business growth systems, high performance 'gurus', wealth creation experts and all the investment strategies they could get there hands on. Within twelve months they had a property portfolio worth over $2,000,000 that they had bought with others people's money. More importantly the income from that property was double the income from their business that they had spent years building up! They also applied all the business knowledge they had gained, transformed their business and went on to sell it! They did all of this while being homeless, using the leisure centre across the road to shower and working 80 hours per week. They were at such a rock bottom that they had the ability to create huge freedom of choice in their lives. So was it just that the dots joined up, the time became right for them to flourish? Or was it more to do with the undertanding that upskilling your knowledge is the way to go. Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only property entrepreneur Kemi Egan

Compound Effect is so amazingly powerful, and ,my guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who uses it daily. He overcame adversity, lost nearly 100 pounds, ran a marathon, dramatically changed his diet and created an approach to help others live a better life, every day. He calls it the Do a Day method and through his book flying off the shelves of Amazon and other good book stores, and his thriving online business he now shows us the steps to doing this. Changing our lives by small, doable steps, leading to overcoming the impossible, instead of tackling huge challenges head on which just wear us out. Now this wasn't a process that was obvious to our guest right from the start, although it is true that although ingrained in the corporate world, he has certainly had a foot in the entrepreneurial motivational camp right from the start Leaving Bowdoin College with an AB in Economics, Chinese and Philosophy, he started work as a Senior Associate Consultant at Liberty Mutual, before going back to school to get an MBA in Business. From then on he tackled many different positions for a multitude of companies leading to holding the Executive Vice President Head of Claims for Hiscox Insurance down in Atlanta. And you can see the ambition clearly as he climbed quickly the corporate ladder. all the time balancing the work ethic with keeping his personal and physical side on an even keel. He has faced challenges in life, such as obesity, depression, work stress, the responsibilities of parenthood, the potential of losing his wife to illness, and more. And he struggled, like anyone else. But as we see on Join Up Dots every-time, through that struggle, he learned the secret to not just overcoming any individual challenge, but creating a life of achievement, happiness and harmony. Do a Day will free you of the burden and judgement of yesterday's choices, while relieving you of the pressure of what tomorrow may bring. By teaching you how to identify your true motivation and how to use that to focus on what you have to do today, Do a Day will help you change your life. So is he now 100% entrepreneurial of does he see a combined approach to his workload going forward? And what has been the biggest learning from living the life that he has had so far? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Bryan Falchuk. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Bryan Falchuk such as: How he has managed to juggle so many things in his life, to get his business running, even whilst working a fulltime job. Why Bryan never gives answers to someones problems, as he is a great believer that the individual has to work out the answers himself. We discuss why it is so hard for anyone to kick start their lives, as they really have to dig down and understand their own personal self value first. and lastly…. Bryan shares an amusing story about a veggie burger that emphasises that no matter how a life seems from the outside, people still have to deal with the little annoyances.

SEO is on the table today. And how to make SEO front and centre of every business. My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who seems to me has found his thing in life. The thing that makes him bounce out of bed with excitement and enthusiasm. He is the CEO of Kansas City Website Design, who work with clients across the world building websites that not only look great, but also operate brilliantly too. Alongside his team, they work hard to make sure that the SEO element which is so important to gain Google rankings is built into the design to ensure visibility. As he says "Internet marketing is a lot like NASCAR racing. You need a fast car and a talented driver to compete and win – you can't have one without the other. I build high performance websites and drive them to the top of the major search engines for my clients with organic search engine optimization and pay per click advertising management services. My approach to web development is laser focused on return on investment. I have a Contrarian view of website design which many of our competitors find distasteful, perhaps even blasphemous: Great web design is a commodity." As is his passion for the task. And that is one side of what makes this guy perfect for Join Up Dots, as although he is now performing in a way that looks like it was a master plan right from the beginning, im sure we will find that just wasn't the case. As his journey has taken him all over the world, He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has lived and travelled extensively in Asia for over ten years, based in Taipei, Taiwan, with stints in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong and now lives in Overland Park, Kansas with his wife Vivian and twin sons, Ely and Ostyn. And my favourite fact that in a way shows so much about how the guy operates, but he may be the world's most successful SEO Internet marketer that has never had an active Facebook account. Love that fact, as it proves that there are many different ways to go about building success, and more often than not the best way is to simply do your own thing and create your own path. So what is about the online world that makes him scream out "No No No, that is never going to work…come and speak to me!" And what is it about web design that excites him the most, the creative element or the behind the scenes mechanics of it all? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Phil Singleton Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with Phil Singleton such as: Phil shares his story how it took a real miserable job for him to truly assess what he wanted to do in life. But now he considers it a true blessing to have that experience. Why the ability to control your own life and hours is so vitally important to Phil, and why he could never go back to working for someone else. Why so many people create scatter gun approach to SEO and marketing. However everything you do must find it's way back to the central hub otherwise it dies for ever. and lastly…. Why Phil has to spend a lot of time focusing his clients time-frames and expectations re SEO. It's not a quick fix, takes time to come to fruition, and takes money to achieve.

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a lifestyle portrait photographer and image content creator who works with high-level entrepreneurs and thought leaders of various industries to produce high-quality, highly-captionable images that present informational, entertaining and inspiring aspects of their brand to their followers. More than just a photographer, our guest sets his clients up for success beyond the portrait session by coaching them on how to best leverage their image content for their websites, social channels, blogs, publications, advertisements and various other needs. But you can certainly see a path that has joined the dots amazingly well, as after leaving New York-Hunter College with a BA in Media Studies, he freelanced as a Production assistant for HBO, whilst continuing his studies to gain an MFA in Television Production And then for over 17 years worked as a television producer, and as a portrait photographer expert on several NBC Universal daytime talk and reality shows. So the dots lined up for him to go out alone and create his own production company, which he did in 2014, as he says "While my business began as a full-service photo/video studio, drawing upon my 16 years of video production experience, I now focus solely on serving thought leaders and entrepreneurs by providing them versatile, high-volume, high-production value image content that can be used for all of their content needs. There's a lot more to my sessions that simply taking pictures; before, during and after each session, I help direct my clients so that they can maximise value from our session. I help them identify their content needs, determine the types of images we must capture to fill those needs, and then execute the game plan.. Its nice to live the dream daily" So was this a passion he persused through education and career, or like so many of us, just started to doing something until the passion was found? And what is teh hardest part of building his business, the sales and lead generation, or acually the content production? Well lets find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only John DeMato. Show Highlights During the show we discussed such weighty topics with John DeMato such as: How John recalls how he got to the point in his life where he found that his internal compass was pointing in the wrong direction, and the steps he took to getting it where he wanted to point. How John manages to draw out the real character and personality in a photo, and why he feels it so important to do that thing. Why John can now see that through his business clarity comes confidence, and with confidence comes value. Its a real circle of development that you have to go through. and lastly…. We find out why John talks about his life as being within the matrix and outside the matrix and why he would never go back to where he was.
