Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. Well, I have a lot of Juicy Scoop to get into. As always. I do have a very juicy interview that you really have to listen to the whole thing because it's a crazy story that this guy went through with a one time fling that went completely in a crazy direction. So before we get to that though, let me get into everything. Okay. Beyonce is here in LA at the SoFi stadium and there were articles saying that she was having trouble selling tickets. I've seen a lot of clips which I always wondered, does that make people want to go see it? I mean, personally, when I saw so many clips of Madonna's concert and then the opportunity came to go, I was kind of like, I think I've seen it all. So I don't know. But obviously the Beehive is a hive like no other. It's much larger than the Heather hive and they are very excited about what they're seeing. They cannot wait to go. They love the show. It looks very full. It's not just country. I mean it's. But it's big. Like, you know, she's like flying in a car. The biggest thing is that everyone is so excited that Blue Ivy, who, yes. Is only 13, she's very tall, statuesque, and has become a really good dancer. She is a big part of the show, dancing, walking, strutting, and people just die over it. Which actually I'm, I mean, I'm happy that people are that positive. I mean, you know, a lot of Nepo babies don't do anything. This is hard work. This is showing up, this is practicing. If this is what she wants to do, which clearly she does, she's talented, I think it's great. And people love seeing Beyonce with her daughter and then her younger daughter who is one of a boy girl twin set. The boy is not part of the concert. I don't know if that's because he's just not into it. If he's not into showmanship, I don't know. But it's about the girls. But the little girl, Rumi, she just came out at the end and was so excited to see the crowd and to turned around and hugged her mom. And then Beyonce didn't even like finish singing the song and people loved seeing that side of Beyonce. So, you know, she has so many hits and is putting on quite a great show. So people are excited about that. I guess there are tickets available still. I think it's more that the theater is so big, the stadium's so big and maybe had she not done so many nights there, it would have sold out right away. But it looks pretty full and, you know, so go if you want to go, you know, and tell me all about it. This episode of Juicy Scoop is brought to you by booking.com, booking. But on the other hand, Katy Perry is getting kind of the opposite kind of love on the Internet with people going and sharing clips of her concert. And you know, she's doing a lot of these big things too, being that she's, you know, recently an astronaut and she's got, you know, the song about the alien in the space and you know, and her lights. So she has like these weird like big alien people coming and she's killing an alien. But it's really this like very unattractive wig that she has on that I think is throwing Everybody. Because the body looks great. It's just like this, like, bangs that are very short and black. And she just looks. And the. The things that people are doing to make fun of this is. Now, I've seen a few people put this together, so I don't know who the originator is, but. But the very famous SNL sketch, that sketch that Kristen Wiig would do, which was, like, these girls from, like, the Lawrence Welk era, and they'd come out and they'd each say their name, and then you'd see Kristen Wiig, and she had those tiny hands and, like, this really high forehead. And I'm unis. Okay, so what? So I've now seen this a bunch of times where people will say, well, they'll play that in the background and we will see. You know, it starts out as Beyonce, and it's like, I'm Janice, and they show Beyonce, I'm Holly. And then they show, like, Sabrina Carpenter, I'm Nora. And they show, you know, on stage all together, you know, Taylor Swift. And then they just show, like. They just show Carrie, Katy Perry with her weird hair and, like, the Lifesaver, like, doing, like, a weird move. And then it's like. And I'm Juniece, and it's just. It's hilarious. She's obviously aware it's happening. I don't think it matters. Again, again, when I watch the clips, people are loving the songs. They are there. They are fans. But she just got so much criticism for the astronaut thing and the way she thought that it would help so much with the excitement of her going on stage. And also just that people have to do so much with, like, these big stage productions. I mean, the car thing for Beyonce, it's like she's in this, like, old, like, convertible Cadillac, and it's like flying through the sky. And I mean, you do think, God, what if something happened and it, like, fell on people? Like, it is just a lot. And then I just think of, like, someone like a Celine Dion or Adele that, you know, is the complete opposite as far as, like, these big showmanship stuff. But whatever, that's the show. That's what's out. That's what people are discussing. But let's not forget, Katy Perry has always had weird, big visuals on stage. Remember when she had the giant pooh come out of the toilet bowl? I think that was her last tour and it was during the California Girls song. And I think it's just to be weird and funny. Like, I just think she's just kind of a Bizarre chick. Let's not forget that she, you know, insisted on buying this home from these elderly nuns in la. And I believe she succeeded in that. She also got a home from what's her name, Westcott from Real Housewives of Dallas. Her father in law was, you know, said that he was sort of swindled into selling the house to them. And then when he tried to hang on to it and he was like in the hospital, she and Orlando Bloom got that house as well. So like, there's just like a lot of weirdness around Katy Perry's personal life. On the other hand, she goes on podcasts and say that says to that, oh, you know, she'll give Orlando a BJ if he just, you know, stacks the dishwasher. And everybody's like, you don't have like a housekeeper stacking the dishwasher. Like what is it? Anyway? So, you know, that's where we are in this world. It's like everyone can comment, everyone can make fun of it. And I mean, if it's happening to you, I just say like, hey, Katy Perry, just enjoy that money and go dance around with your lifesaver and your ugly wig and don't look at this shit and don't listen to Juicy Scoop, because I'm talking about you. Okay? This past weekend was the time 100. As you know, Blake Lively was an odd choice for most of us as the COVID of the most influential Person. They had like Scarlett Johansson, interestingly enough, Ryan Reynolds, ex wife. She was there as one of the artists or an actor, you know, cause they had like different categories. So Blake Lively got to speak and this speech has gone viral and it's very odd. And she gets up there and she is with Ryan and her mother and she says something to the effect of like, I'm paraphrasing here, as a woman, the last two years of my life have not been easy. But I'm not going to get into that, referencing everything with Justin Baldoni and the lawsuits obviously, and her alleged treatment on set, right, As a woman. So then she says, but this is not about. This is about when my mother survived one of the worst things that could ever happen to a woman. And she goes to tell this story, but she doesn't really get into it, that her, her mom, before she was born, though she was a mother with three kids before she had Blake, had a incident happen at work that was life threatening. So if you're watching this and she mentions work, you're thinking maybe the mom had some weird guy at work, that maybe Sexually harassed her or SA'd her or, you know, to the point where then her life was threatened, what other people are reporting on. So I don't know if it's sure if it's true, because once I saw one person say it, I went way deep dive that in fact, the person that threatened her life was another coworker who was a woman. So I'm saying allegedly because I saw this a couple places and I have not been able to find it anywhere else. I've asked, was it. Who was this person? If this really happened and this person's life was threatened, why is there not more about what happened to the person? Were they arrested? I mean, she kind of alludes that she didn't get her say, like in court. So I don't know. I don't know why no one can find the truth behind this story. Cause it's a pretty crazy story. I mean, I had Lisa Rinna on my show years ago, and she told the story of her mom, Lois, who was brutally attacked by someone that she worked with. And, you know, there's a whole backstory to who this monster guy was and like, you know, articles and things like that about it. So I don't understand why this is a little hard to find. But she tells the whole story. The mom is like 77 and sitting there and attractive, and she kind of goes to, like, hug her mom. The mom doesn't. Also, in the speech, she's like, we have four daughters, Ryan and I, my sweet husband Ryan and I. We have to remind our daughters every day that you'll, you know, always be scared in an office, in a workplace, in a parking lot again, like, you know, who would you choose? The man or the bear? Obviously the bear. Like, men are evil. And so then when she goes to tell the story of her mother, it's weird now to be like, well, what really is a story? Like, why don't we have this? This is what you've chosen to use for your speech. Again, a very weird thing, but not weird. When we think of what she's done through these last six months with this case and what she's talked about and how, you know, again, kind of making it about her. And then the other question was, if you had this story that was so close to your heart about your mother and you were doing a movie about a domestic violence, you know, a DV victim, why wasn't that story ever shared in interviews? Like, oh, this, this story, this book really was compelling to me because my mom found herself in a very scary Situation. I don't know, maybe because it wasn't domestic, someone will say, well, it wasn't dv. It's all odd. We all get it. It's weird. They, you know, have gone out now and had a fun date to go see Wolverine's latest play on Broadway. And it's just, you know, that's. That's what's happening. That's the latest on that. But it. It was bizarre. Okay, so Meghan Markle news, because these clips are everywhere. She recently did an interview with this woman who I've seen a lot of her clips. She has a big podcast. Her name's Jamie. She's the CEO of IT Cosmetics. And she puts out a lot of clips. So, like, I. It. She has a big star. I sometimes see a lot of it. And she's just very. She lives in Montecito, obviously, she's very wealthy. And every time someone's talking to her, I mean, these are the clips she chooses. You know, everyone has their own thing that they choose. The host is always like, oh, God. Mm. Yeah. Oh, it's beautiful. So this was just the perfect podcast to feature. She and Meghan Markle, who are neighbors, they did like a podcast swap. And it's interesting because Meghan shows up. Not a speckle of makeup. Not that she needs it, but just sort of interesting. Like, you're doing a big podcast again. You know, we all know now that you need to be more authentic. You need to, like, show your flaws. That's how people are popping as influencers. Authenticity is number one. So having no makeup, interesting. And she's saying some things that a lot of people are finding very annoying and very cringy. And Meghan Markle says, well, my kids wake up at 7, so I get up at 6:30, and I just have a little bit of time to just throw on whatever, and I go down, I get the two kids and I take them down and I make them breakfast and love to make their lunches, which I told you how to do. Little notes in their lunch boxes. And I really, really enjoy that. And then it's off to carpool. And oftentimes I'm not back, you know, until maybe 9:00. And then it's just. It's mom mode. It's. It's meetings, it's phone calls and conference calls. And of course, I go right to the comments and everybody's like, yeah, we all make our kids breakfast. But then another one was like, wait, where's Harry? Like, now you're this working mom, you're making your own jam, you're picking your own berries, you're making your own flowers, dried flowers that you're supposed to sprinkle on food. The packaging for the jam, which I saw someone get, and they did say it was delicious. It's so much packaging. Like, it's almost like they're treating this jam like it's like a $400 bottle of perfume. Like, it's in one thing, and then it's got, like, a cover, and it's in a case, and then it's in a box, and then it's in with the little, like, crunchy peanuts. And then it's. I mean, it's a lot of packaging for one little thing of, like, raspberry jam. But anyway, people like it. So then she goes on, she goes, and, oh, H, he just loves me so much. I think the thing that bothers people the most that they call each other H and M. And not because it's a clothing store, but their names are only two syllables. Like, if. If Harry's name was like, humalonga gobble ob dis. And she's like, I'm just gonna call you H. We'd be like, thank you. We don't need to have you say the way. Humalaba gobblek chop. A lopetopitalis, you know, expialidocious. Makes me coffee every day. I just call him H. It's Harry. It's Megan. It's weird. It's just strange. And I think it's all those little things, but I think this is, you know, who she is. She is the breadwinner. Now, we don't know what Harry's doing. She's got the podcast. She's got the Netflix show. And I've always said she's just not really funny and she's not really interesting. But the things that she tries to get across, like. And that man, H, he just loves me so much. And it's like at the end of Mario Brothers that. At the very end of it, and the host is just like, yeah, as if she knows what the end of I don't know what the end of Mario Brothers is. And then she says, and at the end, Mario slays the dragon and rescues the princess. And that is, H, every day, he protects our family. And I'm like, well, he's not helping you with breakfast or taking the kids to school while you have the meetings and the podcast to do. And also, I'm like, oh, you have meetings to do your podcast? Like, it's just me. Like, up at 2am, like reading things. Anyway, poor me. Obviously my life is great and so is hers. Okay, so that. There we are with that. There's also an article that says that Prince William is to strip Meghan Markle of her royal title after becoming king. This is a Page Six report. I don't know, I guess you're not supposed to use the Sussex names for anything. But then, like, someone will see that there'll be like a little like TikTok or something and she'll give someone a thank you note and she'll sign it as like the Sussexes or Duchess Sussex. I don't know. It's like, oh, God, who cares? But now it's like she needs us to talk about her because what else is there? So, yeah, that's. That's just. That's her. And yeah, it's just lovely. And. And that's it. You know, it's just. It's simple, simple things. It's. Leave it. Oh, this was the other thing she said that she tells the girl who's just smiling and, you know, so happy to be in her presence. And she says, and I got these email accounts, which I won't say what they are, they're in other people's names. But it's a way for me to email my children. And I email them every single night. And I just leave them a message of just, I was really proud of you today when you did that art project or finished your sandwich. And when they're 16 or 18, they'll be able to open this email account and read all these. And again, people are like, is this real? Does she really do this? And would you really want this? You know that I have older kids. They wouldn't. They would not want to. Neither one of my kids would be like, you know what I really wanna do? I wanna read a bunch of emails from my mom from when I was four. In fact, I wanna read 365 of em from when I was four. I don't believe that she does this every night. Maybe she does it once in a while. It's kind of a cute idea, but nobody's gonna be doing this every night. I just don't believe it anyway. But good for her. She's, you know, whatever. I know right now people are thinking, how do I save money? How do I eat healthy? I wanna cook more at home. But it's kind of a pain. Well, let me tell you why I love Hungryroot. Hollywood Unlocked is showing another live stream he did. He has the full face covered in black, so it's a little hard to understand what he's saying. He's going on a full rant. There's some guy in the back that could not be bothered. He's just, like typing away. He's screaming about his kids. I'm gonna get the lawyers. They're taking me. He, you know, says derogatory things about Jewish people in this rant. He uses the N word and the f a word about homosexual people over and over and over again and that, you know, they're not gonna take his kids away. And oh, my God. Meanwhile, Kim's gotta deal with this and go to France to face the elderly robbers that, you know, threw her in her bathtub when she was naked and tied her up to live there, you know, to be hopefully found alive. Like, the whole awful thing. I mean, I just. Every time I see another thing about Kanye, it's crazy. And I don't know how someone like Wendy Williams or Britney Spears or anybody else for that matter gets in some conservatorship and this guy is just. I mean, I guess he can do what he wants, but I would think she should be doing everything at this point. I don't care if there's bodyguards or nannies with your kids. Why would you want your kids around that kind of hateful venom about anybody at any time? Like, that should be enough that until he is committed and is on some meds or something, that that would be enough that you wouldn't have to have your kids around them. So, I don't know, maybe the kid. I mean, are the kid. The kids are on the Internet. Like, are they scared of their dad? Are they dying to see him? It's crazy. Okay, let's talk about the Valley. It really is such a good show, you guys. I mean, it is hard to watch because it's a lot of divorce and a lot of, like, custody issues and whatnot. And you know, Jesse, who I really dislike, he goes and says on this group chat to all these guys that his soon to be ex wife, Michelle, who has a boyfriend, was not only cheating on him, but he also believes now that she gets paid $1,500 a night to have sex with a billionaire. And he puts it into the group chat, this other guy, Danny, tells Luke, Kristen's boyfriend, that then Luke, it's all on camera. Then Luke on camera tells Brittany that she said that. Then on camera they go to Dave and Buster's and Britney tells Michelle, this is what's going on in the group chat. This is what Danny said he saw that your soon to be ex husband said about you. She cries. She's like, obviously he's saying this because I have a boyfriend, so he's trying to ruin my current relationship with my boyfriend, that I'd be going off like being a hooker or whatever. And they go to approach him and he admits, no, I just made it up. He is like the worst. And they're supposed to go to Santa Barbara and it's his trip. Now we know how these sophisticated Bravo people know that Jesse isn't paying for the $5,000 house, you know, for everyone to stay up. But it's technically his trip, so we all know that he's not paying for it. So Michelle is like, I don't think he should go or he should stay at a hotel. And they're like, well, he's. It's his trip. He's paying for the house. So, of course, none of them want to miss the opportunity to be on camera. They're all doing this. They're all exposing their life so that they get to a level of notoriety, so that they can be the Arianimatics and get. You know, get to be hosting events and get to be big influencers. Nobody's, like, doing any other job. I don't think Kristen is really working on selling her T shirts besides podcasts and doing the show. I don't see Jesse or the wife selling on any other houses. And also, I'm like, God, you imagine with all the people that you could choose to, like, list your home, that you'd be like, let me go get this dude to, like, list my house. I don't know. I'm just saying that's not who I would choose. So it, you know, it's really fun, kind of to watch these people that are new. We don't know their whole life stories, but they're all so intertwined. And, of course, Brittany is free of Jacks now in this episode. He has now gone to rehab. We know that the reason he leaves this stint of rehab early from when this was filmed a while ago, is because they gave him back his phone three days after taking it. They can't keep the phones from you in rehab. And he saw that everybody was filming and doing fun things in Santa Barbara, and they just can't take it. The FOMO he just cannot take also because it's his show. It's not being on camera. It's so much more than just seeing your friends having a good time without you. It's. I'm missing 30 days of filming. Like, how am I gonna be featured? What's gonna be said about me? I know I'm a nightmare. Like, I get that part of the paranoia. So she goes. Brittany goes on. Watch what happens live. And with Luke, which was kind of a weird pairing. Luke is Kristen's boyfriend, and I'm. And he seems perfectly nice. Maybe they're married. She's due to give birth any day to their daughter. And I was just like, this must be so weird. He'd never been to New York City, and I'm like, this must be so weird to someone like him. Like, because he chose to like date this girl like two years ago. Now he's in one of the most coveted, like seats on a talk show and just like. But that's reality tv. It's taking people that wouldn't necessarily ever be cast in a commercial or be a personality, but if they're part of someone else's life, and this is a show about these people's lives. And then I wanna say, yeah, that's what makes it interesting that they weren't like curated and casted as being like a bunch of annoying freaks. They actually just come together. And sometimes in real life you have, you know, like just a normal dude. And he doesn't seem to be overly affected. But you wonder, oh my God, is he gonna catch the bug? Where will he be in a couple years? Will he have big giant teeth like a New Jersey housewife husband? Will, you know, will he be like flirting with people? And I hope not. But it's just. You, like, see the inception of it and you just hope and pray it doesn't happen. So she, Britney says some juicy stuff. She's like, oh my God. Well, you know, they're like, do you think you and Jax would ever get together? No. No, Jax and I are not getting together. And Julianne, he broke my heart too. But I needed him to do it. Cause he made me feel special. He saw the girls and he said he liked them. And Jax did. Now we know Jax said really mean things about her for many years. Trying to break down her self esteem about her looks and everything else. And so then it gets to the snarkiest question. How is Jax in the sack? And she's like, sometimes maybe a seven, but most times just a two or three. And I was like, wow, go for it. The gloves are off. She does not give a fuck. And she wants any other girl that's gonna be flirting with Jax to know. Not that great. I mean, he's also someone who was struggling with addiction and they were in a horrible marriage. So, yeah, maybe when you're trying and you were, you know, pushing to have a baby two years ago, Brittany. Which, you know, maybe at the time you were still hopeful this marriage would work, but he knew he didn't want to have another kid. So that's going to affect your performance, I would think, as a dude. Anyway, she's back in the house, he's in an apartment, he's doing his thing as we're watching it. And she's like, hopeful, but she is so sweet because they said, did you. Have you talked to Stassi since you've announced your breakup with Jax? And because to remind you people, Stassi was Jack's girlfriend at one time. In the very beginning of Vanderpump rules, they were all friends. And Jax and Brittany were all set to go to this, you know, very fancy Italian wedding for Stassi and her husband. And at the last minute, they pulled out. And that, you know, would affect if they could have invited somebody else. And, you know, I'm sure it was a couple thousand a person, you know, over a three day period. So it was a big pain. So it really pissed off Stassi. Rightfully so. And so Brittany's like, I. When I see Stassi, like, at Ocean's birthday party, I give her a big hug and I wish her the best. And it was really such a classy answer. And here's the thing. She probably knows now that it was more Jack's doing than Britney to cancel going to this wedding at the last minute with whatever excuses there were. However, you know, some friendships just run their course and you can still see somebody and give them a hug and wish them the best and know that there just really isn't a place in your life right now. Stassi's not on the Valley, Stassi's on Vanderpump Villa, which now she's gonna have her own show on a whole nother network, Hulu, with her group of, like, young mommy friends and all that. So it's like, I do believe that they do wish each other the best, but I thought that was a really good question. And I thought Britney really is the girl that has, like, the heart of gold. And it just seems to be. She keeps proving that about her character. So that's why everyone's wishing, you know, wishing well for her. When Jax is promoting something for himself, I see the comments are turned off, especially after an episode of the show. And he's gotta make his money, too. And they make their money having drama and doing their things and bringing up things on the show to keep it going. And it's working. It's very entertaining. Okay, remember when we. When Katt Williams was just, like, spilling the beans about everything? Well, one of the places that everyone references is when he went on Shannon Sharpe's show, the Shay Shay Club, and basically predicted everything that would go down with Diddy being arrested and the sex stuff that happens within the industry, especially with black men, both straight and, you know, homosexual activity. Okay. All of that Shannon Sharp is of like, he's like 57. He was this big NFL player, but he's really made it in the hosting world, you know, sports, NFL, espn. And then in the podcasting world he has like several shows and he was ready to sign an $100 million new podcast deal with probably a couple other shows underneath and whatever. Well, right before that, this girl comes out and is suing him for $50 million for SA through out their relationship, which was like a, you know, a what do you call it, S M type of relationship. He said it was consensual. She said on several occasions it wasn't. And you know, so that is why she's suing his. The attorney, I believe is that Busby attorney that had brought a lot of people forward in the P. Diddy cases. He goes on and says this is a shakedown. But in trying to defend himself, he also reveals, yeah, this is a girl I met at the gym. She was 19, I was 56 at the time, we dated. But she was into this S and M stuff too. So here's all the messages that show that she's was into it, where she'd write him and say, I know you like my cheeks have a 25k for each one. Like her butt asking for money, saying she wanted him to give her a black baby. Like it's just a show and she's got an only fans account, everything. Anyway, the Latest is the $100 million podcast deal is off the table. ESPN is said goodbye. And you know, a lot of the people commenting on this is like what happened? Like why does, why does certain, do certain men feel that they have to go for, you know, such a young girl? But it's not even that. It's like people are into the freaky stuff, that's fine. But people, even young, like 35 year old men are really turned off that this 56 year old man who has daughters in their mid 20s, was pursuing a 19 year old girl in this fashion. And now there's other accounts of people that have come forward that, you know, have claimed different things that have happened in various lawsuits and former arrests of Shannon Sharpe. And it's just, you know, it's very interesting being in where his career was in all this past year and where it is right now, and that this came at the cusp of a potential $100 billion deal which is now allegedly off the table. All right, you guys, we're gonna get into my interview, but remember to go to heathermcdallin.net, join Patreon I'm wearing my emergency Patreon shirt if you're not part of it. Here we go. Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. Well, I have a real juicy story right from the person who lived it. I am here with Brett Fairley. He has kind of made a splash recently on the old Internet telling his true story. This is one of those stories that several of you sent me because it involves a pregnancy. A lot of lies, so many lies. And let's just get into it. First of all, I just can't believe how much you went through with this. So in a nutshell, I'm going to let him tell a woman that he did have sex with said she was having his child, and he was very cooperative and didn't mean to be participatory, but was only to find out that a lot of things weren't true. So let's just start from the beginning of how you met this woman. That's what I wanted. You're from Mississippi.
Brett Fairley
Yeah, so we're from Mississippi. She was living in New Orleans at the time, and it was mid December. I believe it was the picture that went viral of the 1220 or. Yeah, 1212 20, with me holding up the sign saying Maria loves Prep. That was the day we met at a restaurant, me and my brother. And she was having a birthday party, and after having some drinks, they invited us over to their birthday party. And then one thing led to another, and we go out that night, and that's the fateful night that I met Maria.
Heather McDonald
So who wrote the note then?
Brett Fairley
It was in my handwriting.
Heather McDonald
Okay.
Brett Fairley
It's funny now, looking back in hindsight, that it says Maria loves me, not the other way around.
Heather McDonald
But so you meet her and it's fun. Now, what does she. How old were both of you and what was she doing for a living at the time?
Brett Fairley
She was an apartment manager in New Orleans, I believe, or, you know, several building complexes. I was 24. And I had an Airbnb business that I was running, and she had just turned 30 or 31.
Heather McDonald
Okay, so you guys hook up.
Brett Fairley
Mm.
Heather McDonald
You've had sex.
Brett Fairley
Correct.
Heather McDonald
And then when does she propose? That maybe you could just help give her a baby, no strings attached.
Brett Fairley
So she's. It's a small town, and she comes over every weekend. There's like, two or three bars. So, like, we always see each other around. And she actually hooks up with some friends of mine. So, like, she's in, like, the vicinity, like, the group. And it was all.
Heather McDonald
So how does that work with guys? Like, so if. As long as it's not, like, a serious thing, you don't really care if your, like, booty call is also, like, a buddy's booty call, that doesn't matter or just with certain girls, it doesn't matter.
Brett Fairley
I guess certain girls, it doesn't matter. It's not the kind of girl you date.
Heather McDonald
Okay.
Brett Fairley
So it's like, you know, if you're. I don't know. I imagine. I didn't go to a big college, but I'm sure that happens a lot in college also.
Heather McDonald
Okay.
Brett Fairley
It's just, you know something, you know, you're not going to date this person. Why? Be serious.
Heather McDonald
You're not going to be serious.
Brett Fairley
Yeah.
Heather McDonald
Okay. Juicy scoopers. Get excited, because Sister Wives is back at last. And while the Browns have all gone their separate ways, that doesn't mean that they're done with each other. Brett Fairley
So what was the question?
Heather McDonald
So you'd see her around? Yeah, you kind of guys were like, sounds like sort of like a booty call, friends with benefits situation.
Brett Fairley
So then we get to April and I get a text kind of out of the blue. And she says, you know, hey, like, would you consider being a sperm donor for me? And at first I'm like, absolutely not. Like, this is insane. I'm sure my friends are like, yeah, it's insane. But like, after some convincing, she's like, you know, you want to be involved, you will never, you know, have to be financially responsible. Like I'm getting of age while my friends are having kids. I haven't had luck, you know, I'm 30 years old and I'm just struggling to find somebody and I think it's my time. I really would like to have a baby. So me being me, I don't ask anybody for any advice.
Heather McDonald
You don't ask your mom or dad or your brother?
Brett Fairley
No, I didn't. My parents, I didn't tell them at all. My brother is actually the one who told them. And then they never even told me about it until Maria started reaching out that they knew, that they knew that.
Heather McDonald
You had agreed to do this.
Brett Fairley
Yeah.
Heather McDonald
And so you do it the old fashioned way. You don't actually go to like a sperm bank and like, you know, yeah, sex to be the sperm dog.
Brett Fairley
Yeah, that was the selling point was, you know, I've already hooked up. You know, IVF is super expensive. Like, just do me the solid. Like it's a really nice thing. And I'm like, okay, I'm going to do something nice for somebody.
Heather McDonald
This was your Christian service for the year?
Brett Fairley
Yeah. So I had the best luck in the world. And I feel like whatever you put into the world, you get good out. So I'm like, this is my good deed for the year. You know, I'm giving someone life.
Heather McDonald
Okay, but you didn't think about that. It would be weird to know that there was a kid walking around that wasn't part of your life or you just weren't at that mature mindset yet.
Brett Fairley
The first initial time she asked me, I was like, I thought about that and I was like, no, I'm not going to do that. Because it's just weird. Kind of the same town we're going to run into each other. And you know, after she asked me and then I agreed to it, to be honest, you know, when I was sold, I wouldn't be responsible and I didn't have to be there financially. It was just an open shut case. I thought that that would be it. I never even thought about having to see her again.
Heather McDonald
Okay, so when does she let you know that it was a successful sperm donation?
Brett Fairley
It was June 6, 2021. I had just gotten Back from a Memorial Day party in California, flew back home, and we actually went and got bottomless mimosas. And that's when she told me she.
Heather McDonald
Was pregnant with her while she's drinking the mimosas.
Brett Fairley
We were blackout. Yeah.
Heather McDonald
And did you say, don't you think it's probably not a great idea to be drinking?
Brett Fairley
I didn't say it. At that restaurant. We immediately went to another one and. And met up with my friend and his girlfriend. And they were like, typing each other like, this is fucking weird. Right? Like, why is she.
Heather McDonald
And what she told you was your a thought? Like, what was your initial thought? Good, Bad? Like, is this even real? Like, what was your initial thought?
Brett Fairley
In one of the videos that I posted, I think, and I quote, I said, fuck this place. I'm moving to California. And that was it. Like, I. Congratulations, I'm out of here.
Heather McDonald
I buzzed, obviously.
Brett Fairley
Yeah.
Heather McDonald
Okay, so then what happens?
Brett Fairley
I moved to California. And while I'm out there, I get.
Heather McDonald
And she's still in Mississippi.
Brett Fairley
Yeah, she's still in Mississippi, New Orleans, wherever. She reaches out to my mom, and she starts telling my mom that she has no one in her life. And she actually asked my mom for verbatim, if something ever happens to me, Maria, will you take care of the baby? Cause I have no one in my life. So my mom's relaying this to me. And so it's my dad. They already have three granddaughters. They're like, hey, like, you should really be there for this. She has no one. There's gonna be a daughter that grows up without a dad.
Heather McDonald
So then is that how she found out your mom, or does she knew before, but she didn't let you know that a baby was coming through your brother?
Brett Fairley
I'm not sure exactly when my brother told her. I just know that my mom told me that Trent, my brother, is the one who outed me on that, made me look dumb in front of them. But okay.
Heather McDonald
So then. Okay, so then you know the baby's coming. So she says, you should be involved. So you do go for the birth, right?
Brett Fairley
Yes, I go to the birth. I fly home from California, spent almost $700 on flights. And whenever I get there, it's super strange. I don't know this person. I hooked up a couple times and got her pregnant. But I'm in this delivery room watching this super intimate thing with someone. I don't know their middle name. I don't know where they live. I don't know anything about this person. So I'm watching this Stranger give birth to a child that's mine. It was just super.
Heather McDonald
And your mom was just in grandma mode, just being lovely, helpful.
Brett Fairley
My parents put on their nicest outfits. It was during COVID time, so that was sitting a lot. And they couldn't come up the whole time. But, I mean, my parents are the only ones that showed up. Me and my parents.
Heather McDonald
So then how does now this arrangement work now that the baby's here?
Brett Fairley
So now after the baby's born, I stay for two weeks, and then we go back to my place that I'm doing the Airbnb at and do a photo shoot. And that's when she orders the little handkerchief for my dog that says big Brother. And after I leave and go back to California, she gets upset whenever I don't say bye to her. My dog couldn't fly back with me. Oh, the crate rule. And I was, like, really upset. My dog couldn't come back with me. So I'm, like, crying over my dog. And, you know, I tell the baby bye. And Maria, I don't know. So I'm just like, you know, later. And for, like, the next two weeks, I was trying to get updates of the baby, and she was just ignoring me. And my mom had to go pick up my dog in New Orleans, and she told my mom that she was limiting access for me to the baby because she didn't like how I told her goodbye whenever I moved back.
Heather McDonald
So then was your mom, like, you've got to be nicer, or is your mom right from the start?
Brett Fairley
She didn't tell me this from the beginning. I learned all this later down the line.
Heather McDonald
When did your mom realize this is major red flags? What did we get ourselves into?
Brett Fairley
It was two months later, or I guess a month and a half later during Easter. That's when my mom says that she first saw Maria's grip tightening and switching the roles from me just being a sperm donor, not financially responsible, to making me something more than we agreed upon.
Heather McDonald
Okay, so then. But she's not asking you for money yet?
Brett Fairley
Not yet. I think it was a few weeks later. And she first initially asked.
Heather McDonald
And what'd she say?
Brett Fairley
Well, it was the text in my videos showing where she's asking to stay in my Airbnb for two months for free. And I don't respond for an hour or two. And immediately she's like, I want to take the rights and custody away of your kid. You're not going to see her again unless you let us stay. We're not asking for much, but just Keep in mind, this is how I'm making money. This is everything to me. But her saying that she's going to take the kid away from me. I have to bend the knee and agree.
Heather McDonald
And is there a part of you that's like, wait a minute, I thought, you know, she was financially independent, which is why she was like, I can be a single mom and I don't need this. And suddenly she doesn't even have a place to stay.
Brett Fairley
That's what's weird about it. She was saying daycare so much that she's going to take a job, this a pay cut so she can stay at home with the baby, but she just needs a couple months to save up some money so she can make that transition.
Heather McDonald
Okay.
Brett Fairley
And that's how I was sold on. Let me have your house for free.
Heather McDonald
Okay, so now she's at the house.
Brett Fairley
Yes.
Heather McDonald
And what are people think? Like, what. What is the vibe? Are people like, you should try to be a bigger part of it? Are they like, I think this is so weird. Like, what is the friends and family saying?
Brett Fairley
It's funny because outside looking in, I'm sure it looks absolutely ridiculous.
Heather McDonald
Yeah.
Brett Fairley
But for us it was like, hey, we're doing Easter at the house. All my friends and family are there. This is my baby. Everyone's treating it as such, and everyone knows me and Maria aren't together and never have been. So it's just there's two people that came together and had a baby, and now we all get to enjoy this baby.
Heather McDonald
So then when she would get possessive and controlling, did. Did you just think, oh, like, oh, it's postpartum. Or. Or did you think, wait, I think she likes me in a more romantic way and is hoping that we'll, like, get married. Like, what do you think? What were you thinking as she was tightening the grip and all of that?
Brett Fairley
Nothing. I'm such an optimist. I'm just like, oh, you know, whatever. Like, this is what she wants. I'll give in and make peace. I'll calm everything down. And I'm just a solution finder. So there's a problem. She wants money and like, okay, here's more money. This is what you want.
Heather McDonald
And so then when do you. So then you do start paying, like a set amount?
Brett Fairley
Yes, after that.
Heather McDonald
Was that through the courts or you just agreed to that?
Brett Fairley
So she was upset about something again and threatened to take my rights away as a father. And I've never been in court a day in my life. I didn't know how the Court systems worked with fathers, but from what she was telling me, she could go and get all the rights taken and I would never see her again.
Heather McDonald
And now you're becoming attached, and obviously.
Brett Fairley
This is almost a year and a half. Two years in.
Heather McDonald
Oh, two years in.
Brett Fairley
Yes.
Heather McDonald
Oh, wow.
Brett Fairley
So this is where I get the back child support and the $10,000 upfront thing.
Heather McDonald
So she does take you to court.
Brett Fairley
Technically, we don't go into a courtroom.
Heather McDonald
Okay, but you agree to it? Yeah.
Brett Fairley
I didn't know how it worked. I didn't want to hire a lawyer. I was living in Nashville now.
Heather McDonald
Okay.
Brett Fairley
And it's a seven hour drive from Nashville to my hometown. And I just didn't feel like going to deal with court stuff. I had work, I was living my own life, but still being there, like every two weeks for, for the daughter and she hires a lawyer and he actually reaches out to me and he's, you know, doing what lawyers I now do now, or I know that they do now, and selling me on Maria's deal. He's like, oh, like, you're not gonna get a better deal than this. This is the best it's gonna get. Like, I know she's a little crazy. Like, he's relating to me and he's selling me on this, this deal of.
Heather McDonald
Paying this certain amount a month.
Brett Fairley
Because yeah, they were, they did what anyone would do in that situation if I was a lawyer. They're telling me I'm gonna have to pay like double that if I. We go to court. You're going to hire a lawyer, going to pay double, right? You're going to pay, you know, x amount of dollars more in child support. They're going to come after your job. They're going to garnish your wages. So I'm like, oh, my God, I don't have time to deal with this. I still want to see my daughter. I can't see her until I sign this deal. So I signed the deal and then 10 days later, I'd wire her $10,000. And a month after that, I start paying her $750 a month.
Heather McDonald
And then. Are you. But you're still able to have contact and see her? Do you have like a schedule like every other weekend or so?
Brett Fairley
In that deal, I was supposed to get the entire month of June, and then I had like, Christmas and a few other select holidays like Father's Day. And the, the verbal agreement was we're gonna do every other weekend. And even if I wasn't in town because of work or whatever, she Always followed every other weekend with my parents. And anytime she wanted to travel, my parents were the free babysitters.
Heather McDonald
Okay, Right.
Brett Fairley
But I'm sure they, like, they are obsessed with her. She's perfect. And it's heartbreaking now to see what, you know, Maria did to my parents.
Heather McDonald
Well, let's just. Let's get to that part.
Brett Fairley
Yeah.
Heather McDonald
So now through this time, you meet your current girlfriend, right?
Brett Fairley
Yes.
Heather McDonald
And Hadley is your girlfriend who I just met. And she's beautiful.
Brett Fairley
Thank you.
Heather McDonald
And she's a nurse, but she also was kind of like an influencer. Right? She had a big following.
Brett Fairley
Yeah, she has a big following. You know, people love her on the Internet. She's incredibly sweet, and whenever we met, I actually didn't know any of that. Our first date went horrible, and I was like, yeah, I'm never gonna see her again. Ended up working out beautifully.
Heather McDonald
Now, in the first date, did you tell her that you had a child with a woman that you are.
Brett Fairley
I told her the day that I met her. We were walking at the. On the treadmill, at the gym. And before. I've always been plagued with, like, I don't think I'll ever have a girlfriend because I have this crazy story, like, I have this woman who's, like, controlling my life, like, telling me I can't date, can't have girlfriends. So I'm like, you know, I'm gonna try something different this time. I'm gonna be open up. Can be completely open. And within, like, the first five or ten minutes of talking to Hadley, I tell her this crazy story, and she's like, what'd you just say? And I was like, yeah, it's kind of crazy, but I love her. It's the situation I'm in. I'm dealing with.
Heather McDonald
You love the baby? Yes.
Brett Fairley
And she's like, okay, like, that's. That's fair.
Heather McDonald
And she also was a single mom at that time. She wasn't married, and now she was single.
Brett Fairley
Yep. She was going through a divorce, and she's single mom now.
Heather McDonald
Okay, so when. Cause I watched some of your videos, and this is always very interesting, you know, with certain female personality types, when you would think that, oh, this is cool, now when you have the baby, you're with not only a woman who's a nurse, but one who has kids herself. So, you know, oftentimes I would think a woman would be a little scared or, oh, gosh, can this single bachelor, like, be okay with my kid? Oh, thank God he's got. But. Because obviously there's no romance there's no relationship. But with certain women, whether they think there's a relationship or not, they're so possessive of their child that it sounds to me that that was her trigger to know that Hadley was in your life instantly.
Brett Fairley
Just say, I was already dealing with Maria and what I've shown the videos. Whenever I met Hadley, it just escalated. Because, you know, a few months before that, she was asking for us to be a family. I'm like, no. I was polite. No, thank you. It's not what I want. And whenever I met Hadley, it was like watching someone lose grip and control. And I don't know if she was, like, waiting for me to get out of this party boy phase and slow down, be like, okay, I'm older now. I want to settle into a family role. And the whole time, I was just being picky with someone I wanted to date. Never I met Hadley, I was like, oh, my God, you exist. You only want to date a single father. Because she knew the struggle of being a single parent. And there's things you have to balance with that. So it worked perfect for us.
Heather McDonald
But do you think part of it, too, is that she's, you know, kind of an exceptional woman? You know, Hadley is. So it's like, I don't know. If you dated someone else, do you think she'd be that insane?
Brett Fairley
Yeah, I mean, it's definitely way worse with Hadley. Cause Hadley is who she is. And it would be like, my worst nightmare if I was me, if I started dating Hadley. I mean, successful, beautiful, great mom, you know, everything that, you know, Maria thought she could be for me. Yeah, Hadley actually is. And it was just.
Heather McDonald
So tell the story about Lowe's.
Brett Fairley
The Lowe's incident. That was a story that Maria's family liked to get twisted and try to make me look like the bad guy. And the only reason I was allowed to even see the baby that day is because I had to pay Maria. She was withholding the baby from me. And whenever I called her the night before, I asked her, can I pick up the baby tomorrow from daycare? She said, absolutely. So I'll go pick up the baby. We go to Target. Usually she gives me a diaper bag or something. She was still being, you know, rude, which I guess should have my own stuff.
Heather McDonald
Yeah.
Brett Fairley
With me. But I went and got new diaper bag, you know, all the new clothes, got school clothes, and we do some errands. We go to eat lunch and then pick up Hadley, and we go to Lowe's. We're redoing a bedroom Upstairs for the.
Heather McDonald
Girls, For Hadley's kids.
Brett Fairley
Yep. We were making it all match, so we were.
Heather McDonald
Now, were you living. Now, were you living together with Hadley?
Brett Fairley
I still had my own house, so we weren't officially okay, you know, moved in completely together. We just bought a new house recently.
Heather McDonald
Oh, nice.
Brett Fairley
So now we are.
Heather McDonald
Congrats.
Brett Fairley
Thank you. Anyways, the Lowe's incident, I pick her up, and we're in the paint department. She calls me or I text her and I said, hey, I got new clothes for school tomorrow. Can she stay the night with us? And she immediately calls me, and it's not, hey, you know, thanks for getting new clothes. Hope y'all having fun. Is Hadley with you? I was like, yeah, Hadley's with me. And then that's when she just starts, you know, freaking out on the phone.
Heather McDonald
And did she scream, use profanity? Like, what's a freak out?
Brett Fairley
It is profanity. Where is she? Where are y'all? I'm coming to get her right now. And Hadley had already been through court cases, and she said, hey, hang up. Get this on documentation. Text her. So I start texting her and like, hey, we agreed upon. I was going to bring her back tonight anyways. It's, you know, my. My month. I'm supposed to have her solely anyways. And whenever she starts freaking out in the text, saying, I'm 14 or 12 to 14 minutes away, stay right there. You know, we're already checked out. We're loaded up in the car, and we drive back home. And that's when I get there. And my dad calls me, hey, you need to call Maria right now. She's freaking out. And I was like, what do you mean? He said, she's been calling me, running up and down the aisles at Lowe's, saying, my baby's been kidnapped, blah, blah, blah.
Heather McDonald
I just wanna tell you, I've lived through two people that would pull shit like this in my life. That's why people sent me your story.
Brett Fairley
Well, how do you feel about it?
Heather McDonald
Is it. No, it's just. It's an insane person. It's a dramatic person. There's no way to reason. There's no reasoning. No, they're not going to change or be reasonable. And, yeah, so Lowe's is like, do we need to call the police or what are they doing?
Brett Fairley
I don't know. I text her. Like I said, I'm keeping this documented. Hey, I will bring her to you. Like, we were agreed upon. And, you know, that's that. She finally says, bring her to a gas Station. And on the way to the gas station, I actually call a co worker of hers. And I was concerned for the baby.
Heather McDonald
Safety because she was just so out of her mind.
Brett Fairley
She was just out of her mind. And I called the co worker. I was like, hey, you know, not to get you involved, you know, probably too much, but I'm really concerned about, you know, her mental state right now with being around the baby. Like, did she have a good day at work? Did anything crazy happen? She said, no. You know, incident, free day. She left work a little early, and turns out that was her leaving work early to come to Liz. But we exchanged the baby. No confrontation. Didn't say a word.
Heather McDonald
That's good. Okay, so then. So it continues on, and then you decide. What made you decide to get the DNA test?
Brett Fairley
So after the Lotus incident, that was around the time that she's threatened to take me back to court, and she's withholding the baby, and it's, like, getting crazy at this point. She already had this agreement and had this tell.
Heather McDonald
So you'd be going, you'd be ready to have your visitation, and then she'd be like, no.
Brett Fairley
Correct.
Heather McDonald
No, because you pissed me off this week or because you're with Hadley.
Brett Fairley
Just whatever in her mind that wanted to withhold or control me asking for extra money, me saying no. But at this time, I actually stopped paying child support because, you know, I had these, like, she can't do that. You know, you have rights. And I said, what's a right?
Heather McDonald
Yeah, yeah.
Brett Fairley
And we start, you know, going through this thing where she's like, I'm taking all the custody.
Heather McDonald
She said that?
Brett Fairley
Yes, Maria did. So I'm like, all right, well, I'm not paying you if you're not gonna let me see her.
Heather McDonald
Yeah.
Brett Fairley
And I'm gearing up to go to court for the first time. And Hadley, you know, mentions, like, you know, that date doesn't really add up. We were at dinner one night. It's like, oh, yeah, she was born on her due date. And she's like, that's weird. So Hadley stays up late that night. She's like, going through my Facebook post. She's like, I'm pretty sure you're out of town that weekend in. I was like, no, I wasn't. And then, you know, the. The court thing ensues, and she's like, I think we should just do a paternity test just in case. And at this point, you know, we're still on agreement.
Heather McDonald
Now, how old is the little girl?
Brett Fairley
Two.
Heather McDonald
Okay, two.
Brett Fairley
And A half. And we order the test from paternity lab. It comes in, we do the test, and up until we got the results in the first test.
Heather McDonald
So the way you do that is you get it and then you can, like, swab.
Brett Fairley
Yeah. So it's at home. Test. So it's.
Heather McDonald
So you, like, swab your daughter's mouth?
Brett Fairley
Yep. You do both sides of the mouth with two different swabs on each side.
Heather McDonald
And then you mail it in.
Brett Fairley
Yep. You mail it in. You seal it, mail it in.
Heather McDonald
Got.
Brett Fairley
Came in within two or three days. And up until we were just sitting, laying on the couch, like, couch just like this, you know, watching tv, laughing. We just happened to be talking about. She's like, what's going to happen? Whenever or if the results come back and you're not the father. I was like, babe, trust me, I'm the dad 100%. And then, like, I lay down on the couch and open my email, get a notification, and I open it up and I just feel like just the weight and everything, the blood just fall out of me. And I look at Hadley and I said, she's not my daughter or I'm not the dad. Something along those lines. And I dropped my phone and had. They said, no, no, no, you're not reading it right. Picks it up. She's, you know, scanning it. And that's when I. I immediately called my mom and told her and then just broke down in tears.
Heather McDonald
What was your mom's reaction?
Brett Fairley
She didn't. She didn't believe it. She thought that the paternity test could have been, you know, a mistake. A mistake. They're not accurate. And I did the first test, and I immediately thought the same thing. So over the next few days, I order another test, and after doing research on it, those tests are like 99% accurate all the time.
Heather McDonald
Yeah.
Brett Fairley
So the second test, my parents still don't believe it. The first test, I know in my heart, because I did the test. I know I didn't mess it up. The second one is mainly for my parents, and that's whenever we were able to confirm. Both tests said 0% match.
Heather McDonald
That is just so awful.
Brett Fairley
It's.
Heather McDonald
But now here's the thing. Do you. At this time, did you think she must have made a mistake, or do you think she always knew from the start that you weren't the dad?
Brett Fairley
Well, this comes in, you know, in bombs and waves. So initially it is, oh, my God, like, what do I do now? I don't. I'm not even thinking about, did she Know, at this point, I'm thinking, you know, with my parents and Hadley, like, we can keep this a secret, right? No one has to know. Like, we love her. This is something we can just, you know, go to the grave with. But after, you know, thinking about it and just how upset my parents were and I was.
Heather McDonald
At any point with your nice Southern family, I'm sure they're very polite. Was anybody like, oh, my fucking God. And all the bullshit she's put us through, like, what the fuck? Or are they thinking she must be mistaken as well?
Brett Fairley
It eventually gets to that, but the first month or so, we don't tell anybody. It's just. It's hard for everybody. And no one's, you know, trusting everybody, and we can't even tell Maria. So, like, I'm still having to go through this abuse, and that's like, I don't know, because I'm having to figure.
Heather McDonald
Out she's still pulling the. Yeah, you can't pick her up. No, no, no, no.
Brett Fairley
Still doing the same thing. And it was just so unfair. But that was eye opening. Knowing what I found out about the paternity and then kind of taking a step back, like, oh, my God, like, I've been going through this. And then that's when we start digging into, you know, what did she know? And then that's how we end up building, you know, starting this binder like this.
Heather McDonald
Look, just. Just hold up the binder just to show how big it is.
Brett Fairley
Looks insane, and it is.
Heather McDonald
So you were doing this just for your own mind, but also legally and everything else, right? Wait, you got to stay with the mind. Yeah.
Brett Fairley
It started with us just kind of doing, like, you know, stuff in our photos app and our notes app. And then it wasn't until we got.
Heather McDonald
Putting a case together.
Brett Fairley
Well, yeah, so we just, like, we start going through all these things, and it kind of makes sense, but it wasn't until we started putting it into a timeline with all the photos and then text, and then you can start making connections there. And it never ended up. You know, this took six months or eight months to build. So it's not like we just spent one weekend and just went crazy.
Heather McDonald
Yeah.
Brett Fairley
And, you know, found everything but the accumulation, which every document in here is incredibly important. And that's the story. Because when dealing with a narcissist, they will twist the story just like they did the first time after they. They put a gag order on me.
Heather McDonald
Yeah. And now talk about the gag order. What was the gag order?
Brett Fairley
So it's technically Not a gag order. It's a. We go to court for the paternity thing. They put an ex parte emergency restraining order silencing me on all social media through third parties.
Heather McDonald
That's what she's asking her people to do.
Brett Fairley
Yes. And the judge grants it under the premise that I'm the father. That you shouldn't be putting your child in.
Heather McDonald
But you had the notice that you weren't the father.
Brett Fairley
I had two paternity tests.
Heather McDonald
Okay.
Brett Fairley
The judge doesn't let us talk at all that day.
Heather McDonald
Okay.
Brett Fairley
He immediately grants a mutual restraining order for both parties. And the last, he actually hit his gavel. And the last second my, my attorney was able to ask for a court order DNA test. And to my surprise, her lawyer says, you know, we don't oppose. So okay, like this is great, you know, I've been silenced. But we got the court order DNA test. They can't say anything after that. You would think even after the court ordered DNA test, she's still reaching out.
Heather McDonald
To the results then come. Yes.
Brett Fairley
That's when I realized that I'm not just dealing with someone who didn't know or thought they made a mistake. That's when she started reaching out to my family and then Hadley's ex and like trying to manipulate people and still spin the narrative that I was the dad. She was still trying to get my parents to go to events for the child after all these. All three tests have came back zero percent.
Heather McDonald
And when she would try to get your parents to go to like a little daycare thing or whatever for the child was she was that. Would she be. Would she be nice to your mom but like a mean person to you? Was she like. But please, she's asking for her nana. What was she doing?
Brett Fairley
Like stuff like that, using the child as a pawn. So, you know, the child misses you so much. You're the favorite person in the world, like misses you so much. Yeah.
Heather McDonald
And. But at that time were they ceasing contact or were they still like. I'm sure they wanted to go. So it's like such a weird position to be in.
Brett Fairley
So after the second test, and I think there may have been a few texts here and there between the final court order text. But from whenever I initially found out and I couldn't take Maria to court or anything, we had to pretend we didn't know. And my parents, they actually still watched her I think one more time by themselves after knowing what we knew. And it caused a big strain on me and my parents relationship. I was like I need y'all to stop this because I've made my decision. It is unfair for this kid to grow up and not know their biological family. Think about, you know, the real grandparents here and the real dad. They're missing out on all this. I need y'all to either pick me and, you know, go cold turkey, as bad as that sounds. But we're robbing someone else trying to stay involved.
Heather McDonald
Yeah. And so then what happened? How did that get resolved with your parents?
Brett Fairley
It was me having to yell at them. I'm not a yeller. I'm not. This might be the first time I've ever even cussed at my mom.
Heather McDonald
Yeah.
Brett Fairley
But I had to just, you know, finally put my foot down and be like, look, this is either going to be me or basically, Maria and, you know, dealing with her. And they finally just had to quit and cease contact, and it was terrible for them. It was heartbreaking. It's like grieving, losing a granddaughter or a child. It's not something. It's emotional, and it's not something that anybody should go through.
Heather McDonald
So then how do you find out who the dad is? Because the dad is someone you kind of was slightly aware of. Right.
Brett Fairley
It wasn't until I posted the first video.
Heather McDonald
Oh.
Brett Fairley
So I gave Maria ample time to respond after she got served. Served the initial paperwork, the fraud.
Heather McDonald
And so with the initial paperwork saying, I want the $80,000 back that you paid in child support for two years or whatever, I want it to be.
Brett Fairley
Off the birth certificate.
Heather McDonald
Okay.
Brett Fairley
No more child support. I wanted the last name changed. And basically, I was just going to wash my hands with it. I was going to be like, I didn't want any money.
Heather McDonald
Oh, you weren't asking for money. Okay.
Brett Fairley
It was in there. But that was mainly with my initial lawyer then just to scare her, like.
Heather McDonald
But you would have been fine with no money.
Brett Fairley
I knew. I knew I was never going to get any money back. She didn't have money.
Heather McDonald
Yeah.
Brett Fairley
So.
Heather McDonald
So then how did she respond to that? You said, that's how you found out about the real dad. So then you posted that video.
Brett Fairley
Yeah. So I post the video. Give her time. She never responds to me. And I'm with Hadley. We're headed to Austin. And, like. Well, how would you respond if you got a letter like this? And she said, I would immediately call my baby daddy and tell him to get his ass down here right now and do a DNA test in front of me. I know. Those are your kids, right? Silence. First time I ever heard Maria say nothing. But that's when she posts the video. Her response. That's when she initially started trying to twist the narrative. That's why the details in this and what.
Heather McDonald
And that's what. What was her story? No, it is him. I don't know why he's doing this.
Brett Fairley
Yeah, it was. Don't believe everything you see on the Internet. It's not true. She's doing crocodile tears, which is funny because it was on Snapchat. You can see the filter had beauty queen while she's trying to cry and get sympathy on Snapchat. But yeah, she initially said that I. We. Hadley tampered with a DNA test.
Heather McDonald
Oh, because she's a nurse. Like she'd know how to do that or something.
Brett Fairley
Yeah, she's blamed. She even blamed Hadley's kids for being on the DNA.
Heather McDonald
What do you mean half with it tower that. Oh, like he.
Brett Fairley
Like she swapped her own kids.
Heather McDonald
Oh, that's. Oh, that. You used another child. Got it.
Brett Fairley
Hadley wasn't even. I mean, I did it at the house. That's where we had it shipped. But Hadley's kids weren't there. I did the test myself, no one else. I sealed it and did everything.
Heather McDonald
So then. So this is all before the court ordered one.
Brett Fairley
Yeah, this was before the court ordered. So she gets served. I post the video and that's when the messages start rolling in. So it's a small community and people are like, oh my God. Yeah, we've known the whole time. You didn't know? I'm like, no, I didn't know. Why the fuck am I paying for a baby that I know that's not mine? So that's when we're like, really? Like, oh my God, how do all these people know? Let's start looking into that. And it was actually one of her ex best friends that sent me the message back in October that she asked another man to be a sperm donor also. So if you're going into a situation where there's a woman asking, hey, I'm asking you and another guy to be a sperm donor. You know, obviously you get a paternity test because you don't know whose it is.
Heather McDonald
But she never revealed that there was anybody.
Brett Fairley
She never revealed that.
Heather McDonald
So is the guy aware of it now?
Brett Fairley
He's very aware. After the video I posted today. I put his name out there today. Yes. And he's also been aware the whole time. I've also recently learned that as soon as I did that, she started reaching out to him and they've already been doing playdates. So she's claiming she didn't know when the whole time. She immediately went to the other guy and they're doing playdates.
Heather McDonald
So now, how long has it been since you found out and stopped the contact?
Brett Fairley
It's been eight or nine months since I found out. And then six months or six or seven months, it's no contact.
Heather McDonald
And so how much money? I'm sure you took the time to add it up. How much money was it?
Brett Fairley
It was a little over $52,000.
Heather McDonald
Wow.
Brett Fairley
In two and a half years.
Heather McDonald
And are you ask. I mean, are you suing her for that? What's the plan here?
Brett Fairley
We actually just left court last week. I testified for six hours, and I brought my book. I tried to explain my book. A lot of stuff wouldn't. Wasn't allowed into evidence. And the only way to get off of a birth certificate. So there's a thing you sign at the hospital, and it's called acknowledgement of paternity. It's an unbreakable contract. You sign that, you have a year to do a DNA test. If you're suspicious of anything after that, you are the father for the rest of your life, no matter what, unless you can prove fraud.
Heather McDonald
Right.
Brett Fairley
So we go to court and I test five or six hours. I provide all my evidence. They try lying on photos and different things. They didn't have any smoking guns, just that me and Maria had sex before. I was like, yeah, obviously, I admitted to that. And at the very end of it, I'm actually still waiting to get the paperwork. Our judge said, obviously, you've proven enough to provide, you know, say you shouldn't be on the birth certificate. So major win for me. I'm off the birth certificate. I don't have anything to do with child support anymore. And then here's where I think the story goes on a bigger scale, because now with the $52,000 that I never initially thought I was going to get back that, the judge said, I get zero of it back because her lawyer provided a definition of the word fraud. And in the Mississippi law, fraud is divided by nine points. And you have to hit all nine points of the law in the fraud definition in that kind of court, civil court, or chancery, and almost no one wins ever, because you can't hit all nine points. And the one that they argue was, I didn't know I was being frauded the entire time. You have to know from the beginning that you're being frauded.
Heather McDonald
So how's that fraud?
Brett Fairley
That's what I'm saying. So in my eyes, I won major in court. I got exactly what I wanted. I knew I was never getting any money back. If I already got a dollar back, I would have been like, this is great. So now this is where I actually got a text today. And I'm meeting with some lawmakers in Mississippi next week and we're going to look over my case and there's no paternity law at all for fraud in the state. And I think a lot of people from the reactions online, the comments that a lot of people that go through the same thing and after, I think if I can get my law changed, that we're going to start looking at a national scale and start trying to revise and make it fair for men's rights to be heard. And I honestly think that everyone having a baby, married or unmarried, whatever, there should always be, always be a paternity test done. Because you don't Want to wait 25 years down the line, do Ancestry.com thing and found out you've been living the lie the entire time.
Heather McDonald
Yeah, I mean, why not?
Brett Fairley
And I know people, they do all.
Heather McDonald
The tests on the baby right when it's born anyway. Why not just make that one of them too?
Brett Fairley
I did the at home test. It was like 45 or $50. You're telling me we can't get some government mandate to put in a $50 test for a baby? Babies are expensive to be born anyways. I didn't know that. But it costs a lot of money to have a baby and what's an extra 50 bucks? And I personally think that anyone who wants to argue that it shouldn't be done, if I was the husband or boyfriend, I would be really suspicious. Why not? What's there to hide, right?
Heather McDonald
Wow. So now you guys don't live near each other now or you do?
Brett Fairley
Hadley and I bought a house two weeks before we found out. It is incredibly close to where Maria lives. And I mean, I could throw a rock out of the end of the road and hit it. Where she lives, we go to the same gas station in the morning times.
Heather McDonald
Do you see the child?
Brett Fairley
I have not. And that's so hard. I was on another show recently and someone asked if I wanted to and I don't think it would be a good idea for me or my parents or anyone that was involved to reopen old wounds.
Heather McDonald
I agree.
Brett Fairley
Especially at such a young age like that where she will probably end up forgetting us and this is her important time to bond with her real family.
Heather McDonald
I totally agree. She is young enough she won't remember. And, you know, and it's important. Yeah. That her mom is her most important person. You know, nobody's taken her from her mom.
Brett Fairley
Correct.
Heather McDonald
And then if it's this guy or if she goes on to get married or whatever, or stays single, you know, you didn't. You know, obviously you did nothing wrong. And just also that it was just so unpleasant. Like, it'd be one thing if, you know, this was a girl. You know, it's heartbreaking too, if you're with a girlfriend who said you were the baby and the whole time knew it was the guy that she met the night before. But then to also have just been, like, such a bitch and, like, so awful about every visitation and, you know, you better pay or you're not going to see her. I'm going to tell everybody you're a shitty dad. And like, to think that you just, like, went through that for two and a half years. Are you just like, what the hell was that?
Brett Fairley
Looking back now, like, when you're living it, I guess a lot of people have abused this, exactly what this was. You know, you don't realize it's happening to you, but when you look back and I'm trying to do these videos and read these texts, I'm like, oh, my God, like, how did I not see this? And if she would have just. Now that I've proven that she knew the entire time she had a sweet setup, she was getting a bunch of money, she was getting, you know, free childcare. She would have just kept her mouth shut and.
Heather McDonald
And been pleasant and been nice. Yeah.
Brett Fairley
I always thought that it was my kid. She could have rode off in the sunset. But no, thank God.
Heather McDonald
But because she's crazy, in hindsight, jealousy, you gotta be grateful. And also, I don't know that you would have. I think you have to be grateful for all these things because I don't know that you would have been the same guy to be where you were for Hadley to fall in love with you. I think because you were the dad, because you were going through this hell because you chose to be so vulnerable. Like, if you were the. If you guys met at the gym and you were Brett Prior this nightmare, you might have been all like, da, da, da, da, let me try to date her, you know? And she would have been like, I don't even wanna deal with this, dude.
Brett Fairley
Yeah.
Heather McDonald
Have you thought of that?
Brett Fairley
I have. And it's so unfair.
Heather McDonald
Cause so that's the gift.
Brett Fairley
I don't know if I have it with me right now, but I prepared an impact statement I was gonna open with in court. And what people don't understand is me and Hadley met on the premise we were both single parents and I had a two and a half year old. She had, you know, six months younger child than that. And we didn't wanna restart. We were moving on. We were going to be a blended family. And now I don't get to have my own biological children, though, because I have only had two girlfriends in my life and one in high school and then one, you know, 10 years later. And it's not often you fall in love and find someone perfect for you. So Maria robbing all that for me, and then me and Hadley basing our relationship off that. I don't want to restart again. You know, she has kids and I love them now. It's just. It would be so unfair for me to backtrack on Hadley and be like, hey, I want to restart when she's already made a decision. She doesn't want to restart.
Heather McDonald
She's done having children.
Brett Fairley
She's done having children. I don't want to restart either. So I was robbed of ever having my own biological child just because she wanted to take advantage of me.
Heather McDonald
Well, I think, you know, yeah, I mean, listen, this is really great that you are using that you went about it this way and that you are hopefully making something positive out of it for the future of the world. And then in the process, you really saw how Hadley, your girlfriend, put up with this shit. Because I've been in the position to put up with it. And it is so hard. And you know, for most stepmothers out there or girlfriends of a guy that's going through something like this, it's a very hard position to be in. You're always seen as in the wrong because you're the girlfriend and you're not the biological mom and you're trying to, like, make it peaceful and. But you also, you know, get to see how great, you know, how great the woman is that you did choose.
Brett Fairley
So I agree.
Heather McDonald
I mean, so you haven't really run into her then?
Brett Fairley
No, thank God.
Heather McDonald
You know, I. It's, you know, I mean, there's people in my life too, that live close and you don't really see them that much when you're not planning. I mean, I don't know what it's like to live in a small town as you. But, like, you know, you probably won't hopefully see her that much. And if you do, maybe it'll be like in a couple years, slow Down. But I don't know. Is she really angry that you've made this public?
Brett Fairley
Yes.
Heather McDonald
Oh, yeah.
Brett Fairley
I mean, I would be, too, if I did what her and her friends have done. I would be absolutely livid that people are exposing me. I don't know how. They asked me the other day, what's the worst thing you ever done? I was like, I don't know. I said whatever it was. And she's like, how would you feel if the whole world knew that? And I was like, I'd be embarrassed. Like, why would I ever do that? And me doing what I'm doing to them, like, I can relate to them now, if I think about it like that. But people like that need to be exposed because I can't tell you the countless DMs that I've got of people that I'm helping here in this story and giving them the courage to speak up or question things. So, you know, it's something that they absolutely deserve. She actually did an interview with Daily Mail last week, and under the gag order, she's not supposed to be talking. Did an interview and said that karma is what's going to be coming for us. And I think it's absolutely hilarious that she's getting exactly what she's been wishing upon me. False land.
Heather McDonald
Yeah, I mean, it's really. It really is an insane situation. But I remember watching one of your other videos. So some of these friends that I guess were. They were putting out content, too, about this story. They were. Her friends were content creators or. What was your beef about that? Because I was, like, trying to follow.
Brett Fairley
All that she had. She hid under the COVID of the judge, said we can't talk.
Heather McDonald
Okay.
Brett Fairley
Which actually, she started using her cousin and friends to attack us and spread lies. So we just, you know, sat there and documented everything. And whenever I was ready to speak and had everything ready, the truth, that's when I started debunking all their lies and calling them out for it. And just recently, even after posting all this and getting through most of the series that I'm doing, her friends are still attacking us and making death threats online and doxxing our address and changing their business address to our home address, just being incredibly, you know, they're harassing us and being so unfair that we didn't do anything wrong. They're trying to fight us at gas stations. So.
Heather McDonald
So now that that person you did run into at a gas station.
Brett Fairley
Yeah, that's the crazy. Yeah, the crazy friend. But actually yesterday.
Heather McDonald
Is that the one that said that she was Ms. Vietnam?
Brett Fairley
No, that's her cousin. She. That's the one who. Who's on her little TV show, reality star thing.
Heather McDonald
Oh, okay.
Brett Fairley
Saying she's classy, but the people who tried to attack us into the death threats, they all today were just issued arrest warrants and they will be dealing with all that criminally now for harassing us.
Heather McDonald
Oh, wow.
Brett Fairley
Yep. So we dealt with it forever, and then it just kept escalating. And for people who aren't even involved at all, for us, Hadley and I, feeling unsafe at our own home, and we went and bought a big new dog. We put up security cameras, and it's just getting worse. We were tired of dealing with it and we felt scared, so we finally, you know, turned it over. The people who can actually handle stuff.
Heather McDonald
Like that, well, where can everybody follow you to see what's going on or if they need to reach out and get some advice or what to do in their situation?
Brett Fairley
So on Instagram, I'm at Brett Fairley and then TikTok. I'm RettFairly0.
Heather McDonald
Well, I really appreciate you coming and telling your story, and it's just.
Brett Fairley
Thank you for having me.
Heather McDonald
Really horrible. It was, you know, and I love that you were so vulnerable and you admitted it was dumb to think that. That there could ever be a no strings attached. No man should ever think that that is the case.
Brett Fairley
Let this be a lesson to everyone out there.
Heather McDonald
Yeah, it's. No. And the same thing goes for women that where a guy. Maybe you're with a guy and he's like, you could have a kid, but I'm not gonna help you with the child at all or whatever. Also, women, that's not who you want either. Like, go forward with people that when you both want to have a kid, know that that's going to be the case. Don't believe that somebody is going to be active or not active or whatever, because it changes once the child is there and people change. But I do think I'm all for a paternity test. I mean, I don't understand why I have sons, and I wouldn't. That would be absolutely my worst nightmare. Because, you know, every mom dreams of being a grandmother and to have that just like ripped away from you and being torn knowing that you do have to go with your son, but at the same time. Oh, wow. Well, I hope your parents are doing better and all of that.
Brett Fairley
Yeah, they are, but we're. We're. We're navigating and getting through it, so.
Heather McDonald
Yeah. Well, thank you so much for coming on.
Brett Fairley
Yeah. Thank you for having me on. Thanks. Have fun.
