Like, I had a panic attack.

I just went in the kitchen. I was like, honestly, if he just goes up with the shoes, whatever, that's fine. I just, like, I don't want to deal with it. I was so. And then he was still in the kitchen. So then I'm like, I go up there just because he has questions. But then I, like, sit on the stair and, like, have my back towards him. I'm like, well, I guess he'll just see me here. Like, tell me if he needs something. And then I started the sound. Moses, come around the corner. I, like, went down. I was like, all right, take care of this. I hate interacting. I'm so. I'm just. I don't know what to say. I, like, have. No. Especially the booties. It's so awkward to ask someone, like, to put on booties or take off their shoes. I don't know.

So it's like, he did have it in his car. Moses was smooth about it. He's like, okay, so do you want to put on booties or take your shoes off? And he's like, oh, I've got booties in my car. I was like, wow.

Because most people ask them to do that. Most people don't want shoes in their house. Especially if you have carpets, which is the case for us.

But if it was up to her, I would show up home, and the home will be, like, destroyed. Like, she would just leave.

No, like first of all, this, the. For context, the movie, the script for it was like came out like two years ago. And there was like a whole bidding war for this script between Universal for Jordan Peele's production company, which is under Universal, Netflix and New Line Cinema, which.

Is under Warner Bros. All the big dogs.

Everyone was. Because the script was so good that everyone wanted it.

Yeah, he was mad that they didn't do and that they didn't fight harder to get this script. Cuz he loved it so much.

Like I think he put them in charge and then they just flopped.

Yeah, it did give you kind of that vibes. And then seeing that Jordan Peele wanted it, I was like, this makes sense. But, yeah, New Line Cinema ended up getting it. And then originally it was supposed to star Pedro Pascal.

And then, well, what isn't? Sorry.

Then he had to drop out because of the strike. He took Fantastic Four instead of this. Ironically, his co star in Fantastic. Fantastic Four is in Weapons. So I don't know.

So he could have done both.

Well, she's in less of it. Of Fantastic Four, but meanwhile, Pedro is like, basically the whole movie. Julia Garner is. She was Silver Surfer and then she's in Weapons.

Oh, Julie Garner is also in everything.

Yeah, she honestly is. Yeah. But it's just. I love it because this movie was projected to, like, be number two for the box office. It's supposed to be Freaker Friday, like, around 30 million, and then weapons, around 20. So it was a big gap, but it was just like word of mouth. It got 100% of rotten tomatoes. I think now it's like a 98, but still, it's really good.

Yeah.

And then just the word of mouth of everyone, like, talking about it and dissecting it and coming up with theories just made it like kind of a little mini phenomenon. And it came out number one, like 40 million. So it came out double the projection because the mystery and everyone loves it.

I love a small indie horror film. Crushing it. That's wonderful. Yes. I actually did see people talking about this. I didn't know what it was. Cedric, shout out. People like this. I was like, I trust Oscar. Like, whatever, I'm gonna order all this. And then, you know, the lady looked sweet or whatever, and I was like, okay. But I do see everyone loving it. Daniel Perez, shout out him. He was like, trisha needs to cosplay this. I was like, I have seen enough people ask. The pieces are coming. And so. Well, the wig was easy. Wigs I can do everything else.

I don't know, because originally Darian sent me the photo and was like, you should cosplay this for Halloween. But I was like, oh, it's pink. And then my mind started working. I was like, oh, I can kind of be Julia Garner because I have glasses. And Moses can be the detective, the police, the sheriff, whatever.

Yachty. But anyway, yeah, the mystery, how it comes down to is ends up being Gladys. She is the villain. She's the witch. Yes. Who is who put a curse on. She's basically sucking the energy of these kids. So she's keeping them alive, but she keeps them, like, basically in a trance in her basement.

It's giving reheating hocus pocus nachos.

It kind of is like old school Grimm's fairy tale kind of vibes. But anyway. But the Gladys's camp. She's terrible, but kind of queenie. When you see her like the Bob and the micro bangs Brooks Schofield. Do not see this movie. She's be triggered by the freaking Michael Bangs.

The microbangs is everything. That's why I agree to do it. I was like, all right, the wig eats.

I was worried about a you finding out what the plot was because with the kids and stuff and witchcraft My double homicide. And then two, I was like, I'm afraid the messy red lipstick might give her Miranda sings Tease. But it's so like, I post that to my response to my text. No contacts. You got to cosplay this. I did get all the pieces together. It was kind of fun to do.

And it's easy. It's camp. I really think you would eat the look up. You look good with red hair too. So I'm like, I really see this.

No, I don't know that she's a villain either. I love that she's like the star, but I don't love that she's like, a villain.

What does she get from it?

Basically, she's like. I think the other thing about this, too, is it's very ambiguous. So no one knows, like, her lore, really. I think the. The overall consensus is that she's, like, hundreds of years old, but she's sick and dying, and the only way she can stay alive is by, like, draining the life force of other people. And she starts with draining the life force of parents, but it's not enough, so then she ends up getting the kids.

Jesus. I don't know how I feel about this, but why do people like it? I don't get it. I really don't get it.

[Oscar]

But I think it's an original story, which is, like, big because, I mean, literally the fact the competition was, like, freaky or Friday or, like, this original horror movie. So that's one thing I think. I think the mystery is just the. The hook. The hook is a really good hook. Like, how do these 17 kids, randomly, of their own volition, go running into the night? The way that they run. Everyone has turned into a meme because they run with, like, their arms back and.

[Trisha Paytas]

Oh, yeah, okay. I don't know. Okay.

[Oscar]

The mystery, it's just a good mystery. It's a very tense movie. And I think it's so ambiguous that in. The director won't say, like, what the meaning is. He won't, like, reveal, like, his inspirations and stuff. Like. Like, there's clues as to what the deeper meaning can be, but he won't say. So it's like everyone's debating and arguing about, oh, no, this means this. No, that doesn't mean this, you know.

So I think he doesn't know. I always think when they don't know. Yes. I think that because that happened before with something, and I really think they just don't know the answer to it. They're just like, it's up to the viewer to decide. I'm like, I don't think, you know.

You know, I love it, though. I love that it's like. Because usually I think this day and age, everyone is used to, like, just having the one answer. But the fact that they're is no one can come to the consensus of what one answer is. Like, it. It has, like, all these debates and stuff, and it's so. I don't know. It's fun.

I mean, I see what it means because, like, with severance and all those even lost, you know, they figure that if you create something ambiguous enough, suddenly there'll be Reddit forums. People are gonna talk about it, gonna try and figure out. They'll look at all the little details. So it's like, it takes a life of its own outside of the movie, and that's what people want right now.

But why we gotta have kids?

I knew that would get you.

Yeah, like, that's why I don't understand, like, people are just like, love this so much. Just, like, souls being sucked out of these kids, like, running full force. Why were they running? And what happened to the teacher and the student that didn't run?

[Oscar]

Okay, okay. Very heavy spoilers for sure. But. So the teacher just. She didn't know anything, but it ends up the. The one kid that was left his. It's like his aunt is the witch, and she has his. She starts with the kids. Parents, like, putting them under the spell to, like, absorb their life force. And she threatens him, like, if you tell anyone that I'm doing this, then I'll kill your parents.

Parents.

[Oscar]

And then the. The parents aren't enough to keep her alive. So she says, I need you to steal something from all your classmates so I can do the spell and, like, take control over them. So she ends up doing that, and they end up running. She does a spell at 217. That's why all the kids run out. And he's only one left.

And why are they running with their arms like that?

[Oscar]

The running. The symbolism to that is, people speculate is because it references a photo from the Vietnam War.

With a girl running like that. Yeah.

I'm like, in this day and age, like, I just feel like kids, like, people don't take like commitments or like appointments or schedules. Like, seriously, they just don't feel like showing up. I have no idea where I was on. I used to work on that a lot. I used to be on there like every day. And they would have me there for 14 hours and they would never use me. Oh, yeah. So like if you were getting like 1:25 for the day, they just start paying you like 75 an hour after they went over 12 hours.

I wasn't even in the union. I was non union and they still did that. So I'd made like 250 a day just sitting there.
