Trisha Paytas
But people were being so mean about it. But I'm like, no, I get it. Like, it is such a. It is like a career defining opportunity.
Ben
I would be depressed for the rest of my life.
Trisha Paytas
And also probably as an actor, you're probably used to a lot of, like, you know, no's and life, I guess, right?
Ben
But not like this. This is your role.
Trisha Paytas
She's me trying to help dub Cameron. Like, okay, Dove, it's not that bad. And you being like, no, this is.
Ben
This is the role that. Yeah, that's. Yeah, I guess you have to go to therapy or something. I don't. Her name is Trish. She's got the mission all. It got some filthy rich, pretty and pink Hot Topic queen and says what everybody thinks. She's just Trish.
Trisha Paytas
Yay.
Ben
Hello, welcome to the Just Trish podcast. And let me tell you, today is jam packed with hot topics. I mean, I think it could be five hours long today. Each one could be a title and a thumbnail. It's back to back to back Hot Topics. I'm wasting time with the intro.
Trisha Paytas
We have so many Hot Topics. I'm so proud.
Ben
Thank you. We have no Hot Topics. In fact, we have a guest coming. Popcorn buckets and Crumble.
Trisha Paytas
That's gonna fill an exclusive interview about the popcorn buckets. The craze that is taking over the globe.
Ben
It's taking over the globe and we had a viewer who. This is the second time writing in that has impressed me, who collected every single movie theater piece of merch from.
Trisha Paytas
Wicked for us before the movie even came out.
Ben
Before the movie came out. He went, Crack of Dawn, the right one opened to get all these. He had all the receipts for me. He's like, these are all the receipts from amc, Regal, Cinemark. He's like, and if you don't want them, I can resell them. I can do. He on it. So Ben is joining us later today. He was impressed. He was our food runner that I talked about a couple weeks ago that I was very impressed with all his resumes that he sends. So he's coming on later. I couldn't be more excited. I didn't even tell Moses until this morning. I set up a guest chair and he's like, who's the guest? I was like, the kid with the popcorn buckets. He's like, okay. Because I didn't know it was a good idea to invite someone to my house. But he seems nice. He seems sweet. You know, I trust he had a bunch of resumes and phone numbers.
Trisha Paytas
So I was like, yes, we love a reference.
Ben
A reference. That's what it was. So I was like, honestly, I could reference. But I trust someone who gives me all that information. So he seems very sweet. Even the popcorn bucket video he made to show me, like proof that he had all of them was unlisted. He wasn't even doing it for clout. He's like, I'm just doing this video to show you I sent to Oscar. He was like, I can't wait to see you and Oscar eat popcorn out of this. He was very excited and I'm very excited. And I'm always just so impressed by like, I know it sounds like weird to say, but like the intelligence of people that watch us. Because I always just think it's kind of like people. You know what I mean? But there's always like the most highly intelligent, like so sufficient, efficient. All of the efficient watching us. And I'm like, that's so. And he looks young and he looks great and I can't wait to talk to him. Driving up from Orange county today. So it's gonna be good, you guys. Patreon, we're gonna have our crumble pies. They came out with a fleet of pies this week. We're gonna try those on Patreon this weekend. This past weekend we did friends giving. It turned into be like a big fancy thing. Moses tried crispy potato recipes. It became extra thing that we weren't really planning on doing. The Digiorno pizza. I'm not gonna tell you how it is. You'll have to go watch. I don't know, but spoiler alert.
Oscar
Yeah, we missed her. You needed to be there. Taste everything with us.
Ben
Yeah, it's, it's, it's a fun time. Elvis Malibu, Everyone makes a little appearance there. So check that out. And then we have headshots coming next month. There's a music tier. I'm literally shooting the music video tomorrow. The Patreon exclusive music video. Patreon put budget behind that. They got stylists, they got, they did custom outfits. I'm. I'm a fast food worker at a very custom fast food chain. They got fast food. Like it's very interesting. They put budget. They had a Grammy award winning producer. So I'm filming that music video tomorrow for the music tier. Patreon's popping patreon.com. just Trish and so much more to come on there. And then also with special guys. Oh, Pink Christmas comes out this Thursday. So there's no episode this Thursday here on just Trish because we Want to give all our crew time off. And I don't know, I guess there's no one watches videos that time. But Pink Christmas is coming out on the main channel. My new song, which is gonna be amazing. Oh, and I'll be In San Diego December 5th, you guys, you know what a mistress was like. I have been going hard in rehearsals, and let me tell you, it's actually a really good show. Yesterday we put together with the dancers for the first time, and it actually looks so impressive. I was like, this is. I had so much joy watching this. We have a former JoJo Siwa dancer dancing with us. Yeah, Very cool. I love her. All of it's amazing. It's great. It's actually such a good show. And I, like, wouldn't hype it up, but I just think about all the tiktoks, everything that's going on. So I'm like, we have to make it the best show ever. Hired a great tour manager. Like, it's gonna be such a good show. I'm actually really excited about it. So tickets are selling quickly for San Diego, so it's our only show that still has tickets available. No more Christmas Live after this. So check it out. Next week is our first show, so that's exciting. So check it out on Ticketmaster. And. Oh, and, oh, I have a new game. What do you mean, sold out already?
Oscar
Well, you don't have it anymore?
Ben
I don't have it. It's sold out. It's the official relatable one. My sister's like, is it actually part of the game? And I was like, yes. Their expansion pack, it sold out within two hours, and they ordered a lot, so I don't know how that happened. Good price point. It was like 6:99, which was a great price point for it. This was fun. We also play this on our Patreon, so check it out. It was actually really fun. I was surprised how fun it was.
Oscar
Yeah. How fun? Like, it's actually a really fun game.
Ben
I don't think I played. I think only my sister had played. What do you mean? Like, no one had played it in our family before. I just knew it was a big game, so I was like, sure, let's do the expansion pack. But it was so much fun, actually. We had so much fun. We even set up a camera on top so you could see the cards. And we only use the Trisha ones. We used different captions from the other game. But, yeah, this was available. They're good. They're saying they're going to Restock these. I don't know. I hope so. They were cute. Everyone really liked these.
Oscar
In the meantime, you can get the actual box and then add it to it. Because I mean, it just.
Ben
Yeah, I don't get any royalties from this one, but.
Oscar
No, I know, but that's a game. But that's a game. Like it's really fun when you have so many cards and so many caption and it's, it's really, it's fun. Enjoyable.
Ben
Yeah, it was fun. We like laughed. We played for like an hour. It's pretty good. And finally, for my announcements, not the new podcast, which is not really a podcast, we look at it more of like a TV show as how I view it. But not Loveline is out now. It premiered today and we just kind of threw that together within a few weeks. I don't know how it's chaos. Like, it's just like, it's a lot. Tana's like, let me look at the episode. I didn't like the photo. I was like, whatever, let's just throw it all up. So we figured it out. I don't know.
Oscar
Yeah, but you don't see the cat. Like, the show is well organized and it's so beautifully structured.
Ben
And we filmed four episodes a day in two days. Two days. We filmed eight episodes. Like we were Tana. Tana was like on it hardcore. Changing outfits like she was. And then she like went to go film canceled after. Like she was really, she's really hustling.
Oscar
So it was also a show that's really evolving. Like the, you can sense how the calls get better and like it gets better and better every time.
Ben
Like, yeah, we're doing voicemails, but we are looking on a Patreon tier to get live callers to come in. So anyways, it was a lot of fun and it's great. We give relationship advice and I think it's fun. I think that's some pretty good. I like, I said to Tana, like, I was impressed at her show, the advice she gave and I'm still impressed by the advice she gives on the show. Like she's actually like so smart. There's so many things I'm like, that's actually like a really good point. Like I am just like one minded, whatever. Like I'm, I'm the one who's like the toxic one in the relationship. I'm like, sounds great. But Tana has really good advice actually. And how, like, I don't know. I was actually. I'm very impressed by her Always. So it's fun. I like it. I like hanging out with her and go watch it.
Oscar
I think you guys help a lot of girls. You're going to help a lot of people.
Ben
Yeah. And boys. A lot of boys called him and it's a lot of fun. So go over there. Oscar has announcements. He's. He's a vlogger now. I didn't know this. He's like, you want to be my vlog? I was like, what? Oh, my God, look at all these new ventures.
Trisha Paytas
Making a company. All these new ventures. Yeah, yeah. Everyone said I should do vlogmas, and I don't know, I kind of got in the vlogmas spirit randomly because I saw a lot of other people do it, and I'm like, I could do that. But I think vlogging is making a comeback. I really do think you tapped out. You retired from vlogging, but I think everyone is, like, tapping back in. I think this is the time to vlog.
Ben
I tried vlogmas when Malibu was born and nothing flopped harder. Like, it literally was like 8,000 views. It, like, cost me money to vlogmas because I was, like, paying for, like, lunches and stuff to show the thing, and I was like this. Literally nobody cared. Nobody. Like, I hope it's making a comeback. You said you, Adam McIntyre. Remy.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, probably Alicia.
Ben
I'm sure it's not started yet, has it?
Trisha Paytas
People are already getting a head start. Like, it's right around the corner, you know, scam.
Ben
It used to be like, you get the high adsense in December, but, like, for us, it just hasn't been the past couple years. I don't know. So good luck.
Trisha Paytas
Thanks.
Ben
I was shook. I was shook. You were like, oh, my luck is like, what? I'm pretty much on the pulse of Oscar crave, and I know everything that's going on, and I have not heard of this.
Trisha Paytas
This is breaking news decided last night. So I don't know. Yeah.
Ben
How's it going?
Trisha Paytas
Well, good. Good. Yeah? Yeah. I kind of had a little bit of a mental break breakdown filming it because everything was kind of going wrong this morning. Very you last week. Everything like a domino effect of things going wrong. And I feel like I documented the spiral, you know, it was just like every clip, it got more and more chaotic. Granted, there's only been like five clips so far, but each. Each moment got a little more chaotic. But then the jersey came. Moses delivered the jersey, and I was like, okay, things are turning around, so.
Ben
It'S great on you. Have you vlogged before?
Trisha Paytas
No, I've been. I've vlogged Proxy by Joey Graceffa, who is like, I feel like a really good vlogger. That's how you were, like, in it. Yeah, yeah. Or like in the background of it.
Ben
Did you edit the thumbnails and everything?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, I did all this vlog.
Ben
You are gonna slay at vlogs because I do think it's all about title and thumbnail. And you are very good at that. Like, that's one thing you excel in. I mean, well, lots of things. But whenever I think of Oscar as an asset, obviously on air talent we love. But then I think of like the title thumbnail. Like, he really does nail those.
Trisha Paytas
Thanks. Thanks. Yeah, I. I think it's the. The journalist in me kind of pops out and it's like, you know, what are we. What's going to get people to stop in their tracks, you know?
Oscar
Yeah, don't get like, the whole point of, like, you post every day, you just whatever, you know?
Ben
Yeah. Are you gonna post every day? No.
Trisha Paytas
Absolutely not every day. I know, but it's vlogmas light. You know what I mean? Here and there. It's here and there.
Oscar
I love that too.
Ben
I was like, oscar, we love, but also perfectionist that, you know, has trouble getting things. Like, I'm someone, but, you know, a lot of you like that. Tana's like that. She's like, I have notes me. I'm just like, whatever. Just get it out, get it out, get it out. And you are very.
Oscar
It's a good exercise for people with ocd.
Trisha Paytas
Honestly, team, I think for this I don't really care as, like, I'm going to. I think vlogs. The fun thing is having it be a little bit messy, I guess. But yeah, I just don't do enough in one day to be posting every day. Like, it's mostly work.
Ben
I think the secret is, like, prolonging. So, like, if you don't have enough to fill it in, like, just sit in your car and Talk for like 10 minutes and then everything else can be like a minute. You know what I mean? Cause that was my issue too.
Oscar
Would you eat lunch or dinner every day?
Ben
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
True. Yeah. There you go.
Ben
Are you gonna do mukbangs in it?
Trisha Paytas
Maybe, sure, why not?
Ben
I love filming myself eating. Like, no matter what. Like, I do it more on TikTok now, but I just. I love filming myself eating. I don't know, it's like, fun. It feels like you're sharing a meal with somebody. It's Fun. What are you gonna have tonight? You don't think about what you're gonna eat tonight. I want Olive Garden, but I kind of like what's the one. We go to Marmalade too. Did you go to Marmalade Cafe?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Oh, you went to Thanksgiving there one year or something, didn't you? Christmas.
Trisha Paytas
We always do like Father's Day or Mother's Day over there. Yeah.
Ben
What do you get?
Trisha Paytas
Pancakes, I think.
Ben
Oh, I've never had their pancakes. I get the fried chicken, but you have to go after 3pm Is this belonging literally, like.
Trisha Paytas
Okay.
Oscar
There you go. That was a whole vlog.
Ben
All the hot Topics coming.
Trisha Paytas
Okay.
Ben
Love it.
Trisha Paytas
Yes.
Ben
Well, that's exciting. Is it going to be on your gaming channel or is it on a different one? You got to plug it. I did 20 promotions.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, this is going to be so unhinged because it's like literally the vibes are like all over the place. I feel a little crazed because we're.
Ben
Going to be choppy too. We're going to get the crumble pies halfway and then our guest is coming and then we have to do Patreon and ad reads and it's just. It is going to be all over the place.
Trisha Paytas
But anything can happen. That's how you have to market it. It's a show. Anything can happen. Like I feel very immer. Emotionally unhinged. So I can laugh. I could cry, I could fight.
Ben
Who are you fighting in here?
Trisha Paytas
I don't know. Mr. Beast maybe. Actually, I don't want to get sued. So maybe not Mr. Beast, but someone I don't know.
Ben
Okay.
Trisha Paytas
Ready for anything? Yeah. A boxing match with me and Ben. I guess you went up.
Ben
That would be everything, actually in my Alphabet jersey.
Oscar
With the buckets on your head?
Trisha Paytas
Oh yeah, with the bucket.
Ben
Oh, the pop. Oh my God. I was like, who's got it? Yes. Popcorn bucket. Ben. Yes. I was so confused. I was like I was going with it.
Trisha Paytas
Yes. Yes. And okay.
Oscar
Today's the first time I'm excited about Crumbl.
Ben
You're excited for the pies?
Oscar
Yeah. Because they're finally not a cookie. They're good at what they do. But it's gonna be something.
Ben
I know. Oscar loves pies too. That's your favorite dessert.
Trisha Paytas
Love a pie.
Ben
I'm gonna get the six pack. I think today I'm gonna get.
Trisha Paytas
I'm excited.
Ben
I'll get a double six pack so you can bring some home too, Darren.
Trisha Paytas
Okay.
Ben
Tea. Speaking of journalists that put titles so I don't know about this at all. Like, I really just thought, like, if you write an article, you just title it what the article is about. Like, that's what I always thought. So I did a. Oh, gosh. Okay. So I did a. I did press for my. What do you mean? They sent. They set it up. They have, like, a PR team, the relatable. Whatever. And so they were like, do you want to do an interview with Us Weekly? And I was like, yeah, sure, let's do an interview with Us Weekly. So I did, like, a Zoom. Did you see this?
Trisha Paytas
Oh, I sure did.
Ben
Okay. You know me.
Oscar
I love promoting everything.
Ben
Did you? Huh?
Oscar
You saw.
Ben
Okay, yeah. Okay. So they're like, it's gonna be about. What do you meme? It's gonna be this. Okay, great. So in my head, I'm preparing the. What you mean people are on? Before the zoom, I was like, okay, so these, you know, talk about the memes. Talk about this. I was like, okay, great. So that's what I'm preparing for. And we do. We talk about the memes at the beginning. And then, like, this is. This is what's so weird. And it's not, like, tricky. And by the way, I love the guy who wrote the article on Us Weekly. Like, love, love, love him. He's like, anytime you need promotion, like, let me know. I was like, great. So, like, great. But they're so tricky, right? Because they, like, ask. And it could be like, a second in the conversation. A second. So he's asking me questions, and he's like, oh, have there been, like, any, like, celebrities that have, like, you know, cheered you on in your career? And I was like, no, not really. Like, I did say that. I was like, not really. He's like, no one's ever mentioned you. I'm like, oh, I guess Chapel Road is, like, the biggest. That's, like, mentioned me a couple times. And then he. Then we went. Whatever. He kept asking questions about Chapel Road. And then I was like, you know, okay. Also, when you have a conversation on Zoom, you think I have conversations. I ask them questions about themselves and vice versa. Like, it's a conversation. I don't think this is, like, going to be printed or anything like that. I was like, God, I do really love Chapel Row. And I was like, you know, I would just, like, love to be in her music video. Whatever. Like, not thinking. It's like this official statement when the article came out and the title was like, what is it? Trisha Paytas wants to be Chapel Rowan's love interest in the next music video. I was like, this looks so thirsty. Because when we communicate with her to people. And I was like, oh, no. I was like, the last thing I thought, I was like, oh, my God, please don't let her see this, because it just looks like I'm a crazy person because we've DM'd. She likes my photos. You talk to her people. It's been one of those things where we're just like, like, really cool with her and, like, whatever. And then I saw that. I was like, oh, God. Like, I don't unfollow me. That's like the first thing I thought. I was like, oh, my gosh. It was crazy. But the whole thing was supposed to be a. What? What do you mean? And then the title was like, trisha Paytas once travel. I would love to. But I mean, that's like something we say here that goes nowhere. You know what I mean? I'm like, I say it about a lot of things. And I was just like, oh, that was crazy. That was sneaky. I was like, I thought this was a. What do you mean? Article. And then it became.
Oscar
We do our titles.
Ben
Oh, my God.
Oscar
You have to mention somebody.
Ben
It did. It is what it did. Give me Oscar vibes.
Trisha Paytas
That is the secret.
Ben
Yeah, because, like, last week, everyone's like, tannenberg aren't even in it. They were. They. We did talk about that. The podcast, the Cats podcast is happening. So they were. I thought that too, at first when I was reading the comments. Like, oh, didn't talk about them. We just announced, like, no, we didn't.
Trisha Paytas
I even forgot to. I was like, which. Cause we filmed for so long, too. I forget, like, what's in the Patreon and what's in the, like, regular episode. And I was like, wait, was that. And at that point, I was like, you know what? I'm trusting my instincts.
Ben
Just give him something to look for. Again, where was it? Where did it mention?
Trisha Paytas
But yeah, it was in there. And that's really all that matters. And I kind of knew when we talked about it, too, I was like, I'm in a mental note. I was like, oh, this should be the title. Why not?
Ben
Yeah, that's a good one. We love it. The Tana is always as good in the title. That's why I was like, oh, let's start a podcast. She always does very well. So that's where that came up. So I realized that today it happened a lot to me. The articles will come out and it's like, the title is something so vastly different. Than what I thought it was about. But I guess that's journalism for you.
Trisha Paytas
That kind of is. Yeah, it is tricky because obviously you want to be like respectful, but then you also. It's tough because you have to get clicks, you know, and it's like the. Sometimes the PR friendly thing that isn't the thing that gets the clicks, you know, but it all ends up going, you know, like if it draws clicks to the website, then that means people are reading it and then seeing about. What do you mean? Or like whatever, you know, the celebrity is promoting. So yeah, it's all like a little circle of life kind of moment, you know. Yeah. Like you.
Ben
And our title. Sometimes I'm like, oh, I'm gonna get a call about it or something like that. I'm always like a little nervous. But I like, I like, I get it, I respect it. I like just retweeted his post. I was like, I'm not gonna like post about it too much. It looks like I'm a little thirsty, but it was great. Trisha Paytas
I thought you would jump into Wicked, like, so fast, and I'm sitting here, like, waiting for you to bring it.
Ben
Up, literally in the Alphabet jersey. I'm sitting here, like, okay, yeah, let's go into it. So you saw Wicked?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. I feel like you didn't hype it up enough, in my opinion. I think I didn't hype it up enough.
Oscar
Well. Cause also, she was, like. She was, like, not allowed. You know her. She's the biggest.
Ben
A spoiler.
Trisha Paytas
It's true.
Oscar
So she was holding back not to spoil anything.
Ben
Yes. Yes. Oh, my God.
Trisha Paytas
Wait, so you thought I'm in love. Obsessed. Like, I think it's the great. Definitely the greatest movie released this year. I, like, am so excited. I've only seen it once so far, but I'm so excited to see it again.
Ben
You have tickets already?
Trisha Paytas
Not yet. I have to figure out what date and stuff, but I think I'm gonna see it again before I see anything else. Like, before Moana 2. Before anything. Yeah.
Ben
Oh, my gosh.
Trisha Paytas
It has changed me for good.
Ben
I love that you don't Part two. It's not even in part one. You're like, I got it.
Trisha Paytas
No, I've done, like, a deep dive into the lore. I was like, wait. Because I know you've mentioned it a few times, but I was like. And I had, like, little pieces from when you said it, and I was like, wait, the lore? And I was, like, connecting all the dots and stuff and seeing the tweets, but it is literally the most beautiful movie I've seen all year. Like, Cynthia and Ariana are so good in it. Like, acting from, like, their head to their toes. Like, it's actually insane how in character they are the whole time. And I honestly have been holding space with the lyrics of Defying gravity and taking power in it, like, unironically. Like, there has been that one viral interview from a Queenie from out. Yes. Who is in queer media. And they. She had this interesting interview with Cynthia and Ariana where she said, you know, this week, people are really taking space to the lyrics to Defying Gravity and finding power in it. And Cynthia and Ari were just gagged and emotional, like, wow, that's really powerful.
Ben
I didn't know that that was happening. I've seen it.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. And everyone was clowning on them, but. And even me, too. I was like, this is, like, such a weird interview. But then after I saw the movie and I listened to, like, Defying Gravity, like, on the elliptical in the car, I'm like, honestly, I am taking space with it.
Ben
Yeah. Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
It is so powerful when you really think about it.
Oscar
You asked me what's my favorite song.
Ben
From the movie Defying Gravity.
Oscar
That was my first time watching it.
Ben
I feel like anyone who's ever felt like an outsider, it's like, because it gives you so much power, right? Because you feel like an outsider. You feel this, you feel whatever. And then once you, like, can take that power back and you're being like, oh, no, that song makes me cry. Like, Defying Gravity. Like, I just. And it's a lot. The movie really expands. It was like a 20 minute sequence in the movie or something like that. And Cynthia's version is like tearjerker. So good. Like you said, the acting in it is so good. Like the emotions. And that's why in their interviews. Yes, it, like, seems silly, I feel like, to a lot of, like, outside people, but I feel like when you're really into it, like, you get it because they're like, they are the. They, like, are embody them. And it's just like, you know, I saw Ariana. I think it was on. I think it was the last call, Teresa's one where she was just like, you know, it feels so real. She's like. It just feels like such a real. Like you're like that person and stuff like that. So. Yeah. And people never heard it, like, it's your first time or hearing it?
Trisha Paytas
I've heard it, but not like, fully and not in the context of Wicked. Like, I've heard it out of context.
Ben
Oh, right. And then so we got on that whole journey for two and a half hours and then that's like the final song. And it's. It's. It's so powerful. And the way they did it was so powerful and it. Yeah, I see. I want to cry too, thinking about it, because it's like they do look, it looks so silly on the outside, but, like, it is like, it's probably emotional for them because they, like, lived it and they're in it, you know?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. And also it's like, it's so much deeper. Like every time I listen to them, like, wow, this actually is really deep. Like Glinda being, you know, like being submissive because it's her ambition, you know, like she'd rather be perceived as good rather than do the work and be a good person versus Cynthia, who Elphaba, who is like, you know, doesn't care about being perceived as good, but she wants to be the change in the world. Like, she Wants to do the greater good, even if that means, like, going against the biggest power in the world. Like, going against the system. Like, she's not just defying gravity, she is defying the system. Like, wow.
Ben
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
That's cinema. That is cinema.
Ben
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
It is so good.
Ben
It's so reflective of just, like, society and everything, because it is. And yeah. Yeah. I don't, like, spoil it for anyone, but if you go. December 5th, Wicked is coming to Pantages. We got invited to the opening, but that's my San Diego show.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, no. I just realized.
Ben
I know. I was so excited. I was like, oh, my God. Red carpet. Because he hasn't seen it. But if you go see the play, you get to see Act 2. So obviously you know what happens then after Act 1, which is, like, cool and kind of knowing spoilers in this case is kind of helpful. It gets you, like, more excited because you'll see the stage is so different than, obviously, the movie version. So I think if you saw the stage version, like, you would know what's to come. And I think the second act is even better. But this first one is, like. It is. I love the Shiz. I loved that whole sequence with, like, all the students. I like. I was sad when they left Shiz to go to the Emerald City because I was like, no, because that's last time we'll see, like, Bo and Yang and, you know, those characters. So it was, like, really, really sad. But what was your favorite part?
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God. I really. I honestly think, like, towards the end, like, Elphaba's big, like, superhero moment. Because I guess John M. Chu said, like, he wanted that sequence to be, like, a superhero movie. And it really is. It's, like, so big in scale and, like, so powerful. And when, like, the cloak is, like, surrounding her in the air, I was like, whoa, that's everything. But also the opening sequence. After seeing the whole thing, I was like, I keep thinking about that too. Like, it is kind of like a full circle moment. Because at first I was like. Like, it's like, the witch is dead. I was like, oh. I thought it was a gag. I was like, she's not dead. Like, what? And then, yeah. And then realizing, like, oh, it actually does die. I was like, this is kind of insane and everyone's celebrating her being dead. I was like, but no, she is, like, she's alpha. I don't know.
Ben
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
As I'm unlocking the lore for the first time, and it's like a journey. So that's why I have to See it again because I feel like I didn't fully process as it was happening, but now I can see it again, like, knowing what's going on and having more context.
Ben
But.
Trisha Paytas
But, damn, it's so good.
Ben
And then I recommend seeing the play so you know what happens. Then go see the movie again because then you get, like, so much more. They did such a good job, like, putting every single song from act one into the movie. I don't think they cut anything. Like, Dear Evan Hansen cut so many songs with, like, Connor, which is, like, such a. Like, great moments. And I was, like, so sad. I was like, why would they cut so many songs? But I don't think. I don't think Wicked cut any, which is why it's two hours. But I really don't think they could have cut anything. I think all of it was, like, needed. You know who doesn't get enough credit for this movie is Peter Dinklage as Dr. Dillman. He's so good.
Trisha Paytas
He is really good to, like, act.
Ben
With your voice, like, feel emotion for this, like, goat, basically. Is he a goat?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Can I say that? Is that offensive?
Oscar
It is over there because they're. That's what I'm saying.
Ben
Are goats considered? Like, they're fine, right, to call him a goat?
Trisha Paytas
He is a goat.
Ben
Okay. I don't know, because I don't know. Like, I. You know, like, they're not considered, like, animals because they can talk still. You know what I mean? Like, so I don't know. Like, maybe they're not animals in the movie. Maybe they're just considered beings.
Trisha Paytas
I think they're more like sentient animals or something. Like, they can speak, like, on the.
Ben
Human level, like Narnia.
Oscar
They have personality. They're a person.
Ben
It reminded me what Joey Graceffo was dressed at Halloween this year.
Trisha Paytas
Narnia yops.
Ben
It looks like the same kind of team.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
I love seeing the stage version of it, too, with, like, the animals as teachers. Like, I think that's, like, so cool because the. The duet he does with Elphaba is, like, like, so, so good. What? Who is your favorite character besides Cynthia and Ariana? Because I do feel like they are the stars. They should get all the credit.
Trisha Paytas
But besides them, I honestly can't tell you my least favorite character. First to start with, I'm kind of beefing with Nessa Rose. Like, that girl. What the hell is her problem? Her sister is so sweet and has always, like, been supporting her as a little baby, and she literally gives off about such a hard time. Like, damn, show some freaking support for your sister. And then I saw what happens to her in wizard of Oz and I was like, honestly, girl, you kind have it coming because you are so rude. Like, you are such a bad sister. Kind of what the hell kind of a brat.
Ben
Oh, bar.
Trisha Paytas
And not the Charlie way.
Ben
Yeah, no, she's. She is the worst. It is funny. People pick up on that because I've seen that discourse online from act one. Because, like, act one, but like in the movie, they did kind of make her even more than in like this in the, in the show. So I was like, that's so interesting. People pick that up. But yeah, she is kind of evil. Huh?
Trisha Paytas
I didn't know because the actress is so sweet. Like Marissa. She is so, so sweet. And I was like. And like her as a little baby in the movie, I was like, oh, this girl is like such a little cutie. And then like seeing how she treats her sister, always like yelling at her, giving her a hard time. I was like, what the hell is your damage, girl? Like, your sister is trying.
Ben
Yeah.
Oscar
Which one is that? In the wheelchair? Yes, cuz she's in the wheelchair.
Trisha Paytas
She's like, all because you're in a wheelchair doesn't mean you have to be rude to your sister.
Oscar
Your sister, like, I don't need the help. Don't help me like that.
Ben
But she was helping her not get help. Remember what the teachers like, right?
Oscar
But at that moment, you don't really, really see.
Ben
I see what you're saying. Maybe she doesn't want more attention. Alphabet kept drawing more attention. Maybe she was just like, hello, but just let me like, live my life. Why do you have to be here?
Oscar
It's her moment. Why are you doing it? Why are you still here? What's going on? There's a lot happening.
Ben
I could see that. Maybe overbearing a little bit. Alphabet, not by choice, but she had to be there with her.
Oscar
I blame the dad. It's the dad's fault.
Trisha Paytas
It is true.
Oscar
The dad is turned them against each other because he favors one.
Ben
Well, he was really awful. Yeah, he really did traumatized Elphaba. But yeah, I think also knowing what comes next with Vanessa, everyone's a little bit. Because I think a lot of people looked up spoilers. So I think it makes it even 10 times worse because she gets in a lot of trouble. We're gonna go see it. I can't wait to go see it. I'm happy it's coming to painters. I want to see it like five foot a thousand Times. Yeah. She. Yeah. I love all the special effects in it, though. I loved.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, yeah. All done very, very well. I love, like, the practical set, too. Like, it wasn't a lot of, like, cgi. Like, they really built a lot of, like, actual set pieces, which is amazing. John M. Chu deserves a lot of flowers because all the, like, the camera work. Obviously, that's a cinematographer, but the camera work was amazing.
Ben
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
The. How the, like, musical sequences and choreography were all, like, stage was all amazing. That. The Ariana sequence, the viral one. What's. What song is that again?
Ben
I love when she goes. We did it yesterday and I forgot.
Trisha Paytas
I know. I was waiting for you to do it, too, because I love what Aranda does.
Ben
Okay. What were we doing? And I saw it, too, when we were watching. I was like, remember? But I was so, like, trying to get this.
Trisha Paytas
It is hard. You nailed the choreography. Because the choreography is a hard. It's a lot of, like, shoulders.
Ben
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
And that. It's a lot of, like, coordination, but it eats. And then. Oh, like, oh, I love Oreo. I really do love. I really do love.
Oscar
Was so surprising, like, how amazing her character was.
Trisha Paytas
So good. Yeah. And, like, you so nuanced. Like, I know she's gonna get the Oscar nomination. I refuse to live in a world where she doesn't get the Oscar nomination. I don't know if she'll win, because that is hard to win because it's like a comedic role. It's also her first time, and I feel like the Academy always loves. Like, I feel like the breakthrough actress doesn't really get the award most of the time. Like, look at last year, it was Jamie Lee Curtis, and that was kind of like, she had such a small role in Everything Everywhere all at once. Or I think that was two years ago. But she got the Oscar even though she had a small role, but it's more of like, a. Kind of like a career thing. So I don't know if she'll get it, but I think she should definitely be nominated. And I don't think. I think she's kind of on a Lady Gaga kind of trajectory right now of where she can be, like, a serious actress.
Ben
Oh, for sure. Everyone said that, like, Audrey Hepburn style, like, that she's gonna get all the roles she wants now because she is so talented. I really think. And it probably is not even close to being. But I think Michelle Yeoh could get for Best Supporting Actress. I feel like she deserves it because I hadn't seen her in anything. I knew she was very Popular. I knew she won an Oscar. Like, I know she's been in a bunch of stuff. I hadn't seen her anything and I was like, I was blown away by her. I thought she was, like, so good. And there's so many, like, great cinematic scenes with her in it. And I just think she's, like, so amazing. I kind of, like, wish she would get it too. I do think Ariana deserves it for sure, but it's kind of like Austin Butler to me, where I'm like, well, of course he deserved it. And they gave it a Brandon Francer for the win. So I feel like it's gonna be something weird like that. But do you think Cynthia will win the Oscar?
Trisha Paytas
I. I haven't seen who else she's up against, but I think she should get it. And also with. She has a lot of, like, quiet moments. That's the one thing I'm worried about is, like, both her and Ariana have, like, their act. Their acting is so good the whole time, but they have a lot of quiet moments. Obviously Cynthia has, like, a lot of big moments with like, Defying Gravity and the wizard of N, but there's a lot of, like, subtle acting that she does versus, like, the more like, dramatic roles that like the academy, like, usually, you know, gives it to, like, the big emotional performances. Like, it's. I don't know. Their performances have a lot of subtleties to it, but I think she. 100%. Ariana, I'm like 95% she's going to get nominated. Cynthia, I'd be like 100% going to get nominated. Has a good chance of winning.
Ben
Oh, I feel like Ariana has to be 100% because everyone's talking about how good she is. And Cynthia obviously too. That's like the given for me. But I feel like Ariana has to because she is so good in this role.
Trisha Paytas
But I think Kristin Chenoweth said too, like, it's with that role because it's more comedic. Like, it sometimes isn't taken more seriously. So that's like the only. Yeah, it's so good. She's amazing in it. And honestly, that press tour really paid off. Everyone was like clowning on them for that press store, but damn, they made it an event. Like, they made it like a must see event that everyone was talking about.
Ben
Yeah, it was. It's so good. We're gonna see it, like, during Christmas break. I literally have, like three people I want to see it with because I want to see it with someone new each time. So I just Gotta date my mom and sister. I want to take my dad. Like, I want to see it new each time. And it just. I can't wait to go see it over and over with the popcorn buckets. I love it too. It was so cool. Each time I saw it was like, amazing. I love that everyone's so into it. I feel like it is like, it's such a relatable movie. It's like a feel good movie. It's relatable. It's like a fantasy world. But also people are just like, I get it so much. What do you think of Ethan Slater?
Trisha Paytas
Fine. I mean, it was great. He was good. I don't also like, don't really like his character that much because I kind of like, I'm beefing with Nessa Rose, but then him like playing along with Nestero, I'm like, damn, that also kind of sucks too. So I'm kind of beefing with the. To them, I guess. Jonathan Bailey, amazing as Fiero. 100%. I mean, so good. The dancing, so good. Oh my God, him in the pant. He looks great in the pants. I'm excited for part two to get more into the romance and stuff.
Ben
And he becomes such a bigger part. But both him and Bach become such bigger characters in part two. So I think you like, like him more.
Trisha Paytas
And then who else did I like a bow and Yang was so good.
Ben
Could you hear his lines? I feel like when we saw the premiere, everyone was laughing through so much that like you couldn't hear his like little like one liners.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, no. Yeah, you could hear. Yeah.
Ben
I thought he was so funny the first time I saw, which was like in a really small room. Like, I really did think he was like a standout for me. I was like, oh, my God. Wait, he's like so like, obviously he's funny on snl, but like you wouldn't think in this like setting. I don't know, whatever. But I thought he was like so funny.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. And a small role. But like every time he was in like on the screen, like a scene. Steeler. Yeah.
Ben
So Bronwyn James too. I liked her with him because they were. Yes, love. Which is like, if you get. If you see the stage play, like those characters are almost non existent. Like they don't even like speak. I don't think so. I was like, okay. Iconic.
Trisha Paytas
And as you said in your initial review, could have literally, in an alternate universe, literally could have been us. Like, I remember you saying that and thinking like, oh, you kind of always say things like that. But then I was watching it and I was like, no, actually, yeah.
Ben
They just, like, giggled at everything she said.
Trisha Paytas
Yes.
Ben
We're like that with our conception. So it's literally our characters, our mannerisms. I know. I'm very sad we didn't get cast.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God. That really could have been us. I was like, yeah, maybe part two.
Ben
Even though they already filmed it.
Trisha Paytas
Well, I feel like they could because there was more Wicked books, right? There's, like, literally, like, three of them, I think.
Ben
I don't know the lore like, that. I didn't know.
Trisha Paytas
I just deep. Did a deep dive after seeing the movie. And there's, like, three books, I think. So there's more that goes on.
Ben
So interesting.
Trisha Paytas
So listen, Universal. John M. Chu. We are available and interested in the.
Ben
Sequel Wicked 2, Wicked 3. He's doing a lot. He's doing the Britney Spears biopic, and he's doing Joseph the Amazing Coach.
Trisha Paytas
Yes.
Ben
Would love to be in either of those.
Trisha Paytas
Those are two of my biggest things.
Ben
Oh, my God. Wicked, Britney, Joseph.
Trisha Paytas
And he has crazy rich Asians, too. I think is also like, did he.
Ben
Do crazy Rich Asians?
Trisha Paytas
He did the. Yeah, that first one.
Ben
Moses keeps wanting to watch it every time we turn on Hulu. He's like, crazy rich Asians. I don't know what it's about. I thought it was like a TV show. Like a reality show.
Trisha Paytas
I don't remember. I remember seeing it in the theater, but everyone says comedy.
Oscar
Yeah. I just remember people praising it as being really Michelle.
Ben
Yo's in that one, right?
Trisha Paytas
I don't remember. I saw it for it. She won it for everything, everywhere, all at once.
Ben
Okay. I feel like she might have been that because I looked her up. I was like, what else has she been in? And I think she was in Crazy Rich Agent. I need to watch it because everyone keeps telling us and it keeps popping up on Hulu and Moses keeps wanting to watch it. I'm obsessed now. I didn't know, like, I didn't know John M. 2 before this. Like, what else has he done?
Trisha Paytas
Crazy Rich Asians he did in the Heights. I think that's the last, like, musical he did that was what, 19? Yeah.
Ben
Oh, yeah. I did see. I did see Lin Manuel post, like, text about how he, like, recommended John M. Chu. Did he see it?
Trisha Paytas
No, but that's something I feel like he would do.
Ben
Yeah. It was kind of weird because it's like he would show tax. He's like, you have to get John M. Chu for this. I am the worst theater Kid. Because I get Stephen Schwartz and Stephen Sondheim mixed up. And I was like, wait, okay, so. But I think he texted him, like, oh, you have to have John M2. So he's like, oh. Like. And then the caption was very much like, oh, my gosh. I remember recommending him for this and blah, blah. I was like, okay. Kind of weird, but it's Le man, so it's fine. Can't wait to see Mufasa. L would address. Oh, he did in the Heights. That's interesting. That's one of the first movies we saw together out of quarantine. Because, like, 2020, we didn't see any movies. And I think the first one we saw together was in the Heights.
Trisha Paytas
Right. It was like, right after, like, once lockdown lifted. It was like, one of the first ones, like, 2021 or something.
Ben
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You only see it in theaters and stuff. And it was good. It was good. It was good.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. I think it didn't do that well in the box office, obviously. It was, like, right after, like, Covid. So that hasn't a lot to do with it. But it wasn't critically acclaimed, I don't think. It wasn't as big of a moment. So this was like. Some people were like, oh, John and Chu, the Wicked. He could go either way. But I'm glad that he, like, nailed it. And now is.
Ben
It is interesting because, like, I watch in the Heights, and of course, I like it as, like, a theater person, but it wasn't anything, like, it wasn't, like, exciting to watch. And, like, Wicked is, like, the most exciting film ever. So I guess, you know why? Because you can't have, like, a banger straight out the box. I don't know.
Oscar
Different. There's real world New York to a fantasy land and. But I remember the choreography. Cinematography, it was good. Into the Heights. I can't remember.
Ben
Oh, for sure. They shot at the same time west side Story was shooting in New York. So it was just like, one street, west side Story, the other street in the Heights. And then also looking at competing with that, we saw west side Story, and I was like, okay, we saw, like, do we seen the Heights? When did west story come out? 2020.
Trisha Paytas
I. Maybe 29. Maybe end of 20.
Ben
Before the pandemic.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, yeah. I think I. That whole time is like a blur. The 2019-2021.
Ben
You're telling me 2019 is. That's so interesting. Oh, my God. I didn't know the lore of all this. Yeah, I didn't really, like, deep dive into it. But.
Trisha Paytas
But also, I feel like the Wicked craze has, like, raised a lot of questions about theater etiquette. And I. Maybe I'm just old, but I'm like, damn. Like, so many people are taking photos of the screens and stuff. Like, I see. And I'm kind of like, ladies, ladies, ladies. We come to this place for magic. You know what I mean? Like, yeah, like, it says there's literally a commercial right before. Like, don't tags, don't talk. You know, don't spoil the movie. Like, why are we, like, filming the. I don't.
Ben
I guess. Yeah. I think the etiquette is, like, to film that opening sequence, that opening. Like, Wicked, you know, part one. Like, I think that you can do. It's like bows during a Broadway show. You can film the bows, but nothing else. So I think you can film, like, the opening to let people know, look at what movie I'm in. But I think after that, yeah, it should be Noah Beck.
Trisha Paytas
I mean, love Noah Beck. Shout out the football movie on tv. But his Instagram story was like, five scenes from the movie. And I'm like, no, no, we gotta reign it in.
Ben
Like, the singing people were doing. They didn't sing in ours. But if someone's saying next to me and be like, stop it.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, likely. I think what I saw early, so I think I miss in on Thursday, like, early on Thursday. So I think I miss, like, you know, it being an unruly crowd. Thank God. But I think I would lose it if everyone was, like, on their phone. Yeah. Yeah. I'm scared for the musical experience. Like, the sing along that comes out. I think, when is it on Christmas or something?
Ben
It does it.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Well, that's good. Everyone can just go be loud there. Like, I'll go to that sing along.
Trisha Paytas
But imagine you're, like, seeing some movie next door and it's like, damn, I.
Ben
Can'T hear so loud. And no one can sing to find gravity good. Like, the 1% of the world price. So when people sing that, it's like, stop. It's awful. But, yeah, that will. I will not be going to those. As much as I love singing and I want people to sing with me, I just am like, no, I can't do, like, people singing in a theater. That would be, like, crazy.
Trisha Paytas
It is a lot. Yeah. I think someone tweeted that, like, they went on opening night and then, like, two high school choirs, like, were all, like, came.
Ben
Worst nightmare. Worst nightmare. And I love the arts, you know, I do but time and place.
Trisha Paytas
Yes.
Ben
Oh, yeah. I guess Defying Gravity Glee did it, didn't they? Kurt and Rachel?
Trisha Paytas
Oh, yes. There was a theater in Ohio that was like before the movie started, was playing like every cover of like Defying Gravity and showed all these scenes from.
Ben
Glee and they showed that Glee really did make the songs a little cringy, though. When you look back around, these are kind of cringe.
Trisha Paytas
But in the moment, I'm sure I probably have space with that too.
Ben
You know, always holding space for Kurt singing and his falsetto. Like, it's beautiful soprano, like, it was great. You're kind of like, wow. But now looking back. Yeah, definitely.
Trisha Paytas
What do you think about Ariana saying Glinda could be a little lesbian?
Ben
I love it. I think she was like. No, I agree. Because I think Kristen agree with it too. I feel like for sure. Because she didn't really care about Fierce. She definitely didn't care about Box. She didn't seem to care about anyone but Elphaba. And just in general, I could see it. I could see it for sure. I think she had no connection. Like, you couldn't feel the connection with fear. But like in the stage play too, I think in just in general, like, she doesn't care like that. You know what I mean? She cares more about like not having Elphaba around.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
By curious, maybe.
Trisha Paytas
Maybe. Yeah. Because even in like the opening sequence, like, no one more, no one mourns the wicked. And then someone asked like, but Glinda, weren't you friends with her? And then she went, friends. Like, I feel like there was almost like not just friends, a little more than friends.
Ben
I always got shout out to the asexual community. I always thought asexual vibes from her. You know what I mean? When I watch her.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. Like you said, I feel like she's not interested in any, like, romantic partner, but like me only interested. Almost like, you know, literally royalty, I guess. Like, you know, it's kind of like what makes you more like powerful socially, I guess.
Ben
You know, for sure. I can see that. I love that. I think that's like a new narrative that I haven't heard before about it. But I like it.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Which makes sense because also too, I like, I don't know if it's by choice or what, but usually the fieros in the Broadway shows, they're always obviously like they're in a relationship, but they're always played by like a queer actor too. Like Adam Lambert has played them. There's always. So it is a very Queer movie, you know what I mean? Like, in the sense that it's very, I think, open. All the characters are kind of open. That's why I like Jonathan Bailey in the movie, because I don't know for sure, but I don't think Fiyero dances with any men in the stage production, but he does in the movie. And I thought that was, like, really cool because kind of leaves that open as well. More just, like, fluid anyways, you know what I mean? Where they don't really have a sexuality in the show. Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
Even Bach was kind of looking like he wanted Fiero's cookies a little bit too. I was like, damn.
Ben
In the stage version, do I always feel like Balk always has, like, a little crush on Fiero? But again, who doesn't? And I think that's what, again, the message is everyone's kind of on the spectrum, right? Everyone has, like, a little bit in them because you see a handsome man, you're like, maybe. You know what I mean? Especially Jonathan Bailey. Everyone's like, maybe.
Trisha Paytas
Can I honestly also had a Trisha moment watching some of Jonathan Bailey's interviews, though, because there was one interview he did in the UK with, like, this magician on the BBC, and it was like a cute, like, magician. I don't know what his, like, sexuality is. It could be straight, whatever. But he was doing all these little magic tricks with Jonathan and Jonathan. I mean, granted, Jonathan Bailey has chemistry with kind of everyone, you know what I mean? But he, like, really. I could see these two together if, like, you know, if the interviewer was gay, the magician, because he was so, like, they were just attractive, like an attractive pair. And I was getting so jealous because Jonathan was so enamored with the little magic tricks. Like, he pulled the coin out of, like, his ear or something. And I was like. I was like, wow, I kind of feel like Trish. I was like, I kind of feel betrayed a little bit. A man who doesn't know I exist. Yeah, I. But, like, parasocially, I'm like, wait, that's my man.
Ben
That's how I felt like when he was with, like, Cynthia and Ariana on the carpets, because he would, like, look deeply at both of them. I was like, oh, man, that could have been me. Should have been me. Might have been me. Maybe he watches, like, you know what I mean? Like, that's what I always think in my head. It does make you sad. It makes you sad. That is the weird thing about parasocial is, like, it is kind of this weird thing where you're like, oh, man. Like, I'm sad. Like, he doesn't.
Trisha Paytas
Yes.
Ben
Like me, I'm like, oh, my gosh. Like, I'm married with kids. Like now there's never gonna be a chance between me and Jonathan Bailey. You know, it's like a weird thing where like, if I wasn't married, I don't think that would be like. But you think that sometimes you're just like, okay, well, this is the life I chose, so I'm going here. Yeah. And you can kind of spiral a little bit, but like, then you think about it rationally and I think that's not real. That's not real.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
On so many levels. But yeah, everyone's kind of feeling that with him right now. He is very handsome. He's handsome in the sense of just like, he's obviously good looking, but he's also not like intimidating, like, you know, very.
Trisha Paytas
Just like a magnetic, you know, you feel like you could hang out with him and not be like intimidating, intimidated by him.
Ben
I think that with Jeff Goldblum too, honestly, I got a little giddy for Jeff Goldblum in the movie. What did you think about him?
Trisha Paytas
I thought he was good. But again, I'm very into like the characters, so I'm like, if they're like a bad character, I'm like, oh, right. So I can't really like see it for them. I was like, don't come after my sister.
Ben
Right, right.
Trisha Paytas
Literally my sister. No, because I'm like, nessa Rose, I will have my girls back 100%.
Ben
I don't know, I might pull Glinda and just stay with them.
Trisha Paytas
Literally. This is why I'm glad. Even before I knew anything about Wicked, I was like, yeah, of course you could be Glinda. I thought I was going to be Glinda the house, but I was like, no, it's pink. Like, that should be you.
Ben
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
But now I'm like, after watching, I'm like, no, I am 100% like the Alphabet. Yeah. Because you, you would definitely go with the flow. You'd be like, okay, sure, yeah, I'll go with it.
Ben
Yeah. You're choosing me. Okay, bye.
Trisha Paytas
I mean, no, Trisha, like, we. You can't let like, you're. You can't like sub be your. What was it? Your ambition? Lead you to submission. Like, you can't. You can't always.
Ben
No. Always going to be me.
Trisha Paytas
Always, always fight the man.
Ben
No. Even now, anything. I'm just you and Michelle.
Trisha Paytas
Y.
Ben
She gives me hugs. Absolutely. Yes, I can stay with the Wizard. I'm staying here for sure.
Trisha Paytas
We are definitely in the right jerseys. It's freaking mean. Peter Dinklage against the world.
Ben
Like, damn, he is great. He is wonderful. I know. I just, I watch it. Jeff Goldblum is 72 years old and I was just like, he is so. And the wizard I have never seen. Not like a good wizard, but like, the character is just never my cup of tea in the stage production because the songs are always kind of slow. But for some reason his was really good. The only other people that were up for the role was Steve Martin and Brian Cranberry.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, interesting.
Ben
We have someone coming on Saturday guesting here. It'll be up next Thursday who auditioned for Fiero and he's on the list. He's on the short list that they always show of who auditioned for Fiero. And it's really surprising, so I'm really excited to ask him about that. And then they also have the list of Box and Joshua Robert Collie, who was here, was one of the people on there. But it's interesting, all the people that they did audition through, I guess Dove Cameron was like the close second.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. And I do feel bad for anyone. Like, I think you talked about it before. Like, yeah, I feel bad for. Because it is such, like, it's like a career making role.
Ben
And if you're like, for me, there's no chance I'm in this movie. But if you're like close, like, it's between me and Michelle Yeoh, I would have been like, damn it. You know what I mean? Like, that would have been awful.
Trisha Paytas
I think it's just so, like, meant to be though, for like Ariana and Cynthia especially. Like, the roles are just so. For them.
Ben
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
Like, there are just these characters. So maybe they could at least have peace with that. Like, I hope they're like, Adele Cameron is okay. I hope everyone is like, I think there was one girl, I forgot her name. But like, I think she like cried on like her Instagram story, like after she didn't get it and people were making fun of her. I was like, no. Like, I forgot her name.
Ben
No, not Amanda SE Freed.
Trisha Paytas
No. And I think it was more like. I think she had more of like a theater background maybe or something. And. But I saw it going around a couple weeks ago. I can't remember her name, but people were being so mean about it. But I'm like, no, I get it. Like, it is such a. It is like a career defining opportunity.
Ben
I would be depressed for the rest of my life if I was second to get that role. I don't think I could ever watch it. I don't think I'd ever want to do anything again. I was like, okay, that would. That's because that's so crazy. You're so close. But yeah, there was one. I forget the actress's name. She was there at the red carpet. She played Madame Warble in the stage production. I don't know her name. She's a really great actress. But she was there and she was, like, supportive and they were, like doing interviews together, so I don't know her name, but she was good. Yeah. It's interesting to see, like, Dove camera, like, not at the pretty premiere, because you would think because she is such like a wicked fan to be there who was Fear. Oh, Joe Jonas, I guess. But, like, that didn't make sense. I think Dove, Cameron just so in the theater world. And Kristin Chenoweth, like, loves her and she's been in shows with Ariana. I feel like it's just like a sad.
Trisha Paytas
It's so close.
Ben
It's really sad. I think that would be so hard. And then you have to see them like everywhere. I don't know. I'd be miserable the rest of my life. Just have to see it. I'm not even close. Playing Glenn Dunn. I still get sad. So like, oh, that will never be me. But if you're considered for it. Yikes. Yeah, that's.
Trisha Paytas
It is hard. Yeah. You literally can't escape it.
Ben
No, I guess you have to go to therapy or something like that.
Trisha Paytas
I know. And also, probably as an actor, you're probably used to a lot of, like, you know, no's in life, I guess. Right?
Ben
Not like this. This is your role.
Trisha Paytas
She's trying to help Cameron. Like, okay, Dove, it's not that bad. And you being like, no, this is that.
Ben
This is the role that. Yeah, that's. Yeah, man, that would. That would suck. But.
Trisha Paytas
But at least Ariana is so good at it like, that, you know, that you were beat by literally like someone who is like the embodiment of the character. You know what I mean? At least it's not a flop.
Ben
Also, like, the vocals, I mean, she's like operatic in this movie. And I think, like, you. I don't think like, anyone compares to Ariana.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
So, yeah, that's true.
Trisha Paytas
I was trying to think of who else could be like, in this new generation of like, pop star to like Academy Award nominated or winning actress. And I feel like it's tough, like, obviously like a Lady Gaga Ariana. The only people from like the Next generation or like, you know, the newer generation is maybe Billie Eilish is a really good actress. She was, she had a really small part in like a Amazon prime show called Swarm and she was really, really good in it. It was like a one episode, like small supporting role, but she was very. She was like a culture cult leader and she was really good in it. And Olivia Rodrigo is also a really good actress too.
Ben
And she been in.
Trisha Paytas
She's only been in the Disney stuff before, but kind of like Ariana, where like I feel like she went through the child acting very well and even in music videos and stuff like High School Musical, the musical, the series, she's actually like a good actress in it.
Ben
I think you just love her. I don't know, maybe she is, but.
Trisha Paytas
I feel like, no, she's really good. I mean, well, yes, of course, but she's like. There's a rumor that she's being eyed for like this new, this coming of age movie from like an Oscar winning director. So I could, I could see it for her down the line.
Ben
What makes it. I think when you get like, with a really good director, it can be like, wow, that was me with like Ironclad. I'm still like shocked Zac Efron didn't get nominated, but I was like, oh, I see him in that type of movie. I was like, wait, he's actually like a good actor. Like I always feel like people kind of like just like clown on him or whatever.
Trisha Paytas
But yeah, pretty good. Yeah.
Ben
I think you have to get like a serious role like that where people or just be like really great. Like in Glinda. I think I'm still hanging on to Addison Rae. I still think that she could be like an amazing actress in something. Like you said, if it's directed. Like if John M. Did Britney Spears. I know she didn't want to do Britney Spears. Like, I don't want to be considered because, like, who can even touch that role? But my girl, someone's got to touch that role, so you might as well do it. I think it could be her because also, like, she is good in movies and I think when you get like training, when you get like, you know, coaching, I think you become like so much better. So I could, I could see her maybe not even for the Britney Spears movie, but for something. Because I really do think she's a good actress. It is hard. It's hard to know until you see someone in the role. And I go, damn, they're good. You Know.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. Because even like, Ariana, I mean, she was really good in, like, the Nickelodeon day. Like, she played. Played like Cat, which is like a ditzy character, whatever. Very well. But I feel like what. I think there was a lot of doubters when she got casted in this. Right. Like, despite everything, she really had to, like, prove herself and look like the. What, like, 10 years, like, a decade later for her to get that role. So it's like, who down the line? I really think out of everyone, though, I feel like Billie Eilish is probably, like, the surest bet and I've never.
Ben
Ever heard that, ever.
Trisha Paytas
Well, her mom is also an actress, too, so I feel like in her ear. Yeah. And again, I feel like again, in like, 10 years, she's already an Oscar winner from a song. So I feel like down the line, she'll be like the next, like, egot kind of status. I think I could really see that for her.
Ben
Interesting. I need to know more about her. I don't know much about her.
Trisha Paytas
I honestly do love Billy. It's hard. I mean, I love, like, a pop girl. You know what I mean? Because I get so into it, like, an Ariana Taylor, where it's like, you know, a big girly production and stuff too. But, you know, my punk rock days. No, but she's, like, a little bit edgy.
Ben
I love, like, my. Not, like my dream role, but I would love to do a movie like Mariah Carey and Precious. Like, I would love to be in a role like that.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God. Yeah. Where it's like a physical transformation. I can see that for you, 100%. Yes, yes, yes.
Ben
Or if I was younger, I would like to be Precious. Like, I do love her role too. You know what I mean? Because she did win the Oscars. Shout Out, Gabriel Lover. But that would be. As soon as I said it, I was like. Let me just, like, say which character, I'm thinking. But I would love to be Precious, too. I would love to be, like, in a movie like that. I think it's. So who's. Is it Monique? Is she in there?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Did she win the Oscar, Monique?
Trisha Paytas
I think so. Right. For supporting.
Ben
Who's the director of that? Because, like, that. Those kind of movies, obviously I, like, can't watch them. It's, like, kind of hard for me.
Trisha Paytas
To watch Lee Daniels.
Ben
Oh, well, there you go. You get a Lee Daniels movie and then you'll win an Oscar. I'm available. Like, I like. What I'm saying is, like, Mariah Carey, you would never think like, we all saw glitter, loved it, camp. But, like, would never think in a million years, like, Oscar winner. You know what I mean? And then you see it. Not that she won an Oscar, but I'm saying she's in this movie. That's not me for all these Oscars. And she was so good. And I think just finding that, like, right material that shows you in that kind of light makes it too Brandy, too. Brandy has been in a Tyler Perry one. I think it was like the Marriage Counselor or something. And she was like, so good. And I feel like those type of movies, like, evolve. So if you come out with something like that.
Trisha Paytas
And yeah, the. The Academy really does love a physical transformation too. So I think that, yeah, you really need, like a stripped down role.
Ben
Charlize Theron and Monster.
Trisha Paytas
Yes, exactly.
Ben
When Chelsea Lynn was here, she's like, I love that movie so much. And I was like, oh, I could. Yeah, like, I can. I get it. Like, so that's like the goal. And I'm hoping, you know what, Give it a few more years. Because again, my fans are now coming up in the industry. They all are in position of power. One day they will be that dragon. That's like, we need Trisha. It's very Quentin Tarantino when he casted John Travolta in Pulp Fiction. Because John Travolta was like a. Has been by the time Pulp Fiction came around and kind of like revived his career. And everyone's like, oh, my God, John Travolta. We haven't seen him since like the 70s. So I think that's gonna happen. I think that's gonna happen. Trisha's really gotta be like 50 and they'll be slated, so I'm waiting, but it's gonna happen. I can feel it. Probably Ben, he's gonna do something. He's so organized and so on and so creative. I'm like, he's gonna be somebody. So maybe he'll cast me from bringing popcorn buckets to selling getting an Oscar. Really cool. Yeah, there's. I mean, there's a lot of talented people out there right now. A lot of the girls are so talented. A lot of these young girls really are. Maybe no back.
Trisha Paytas
That's true. I haven't seen the quarterback movie, but yeah, maybe that could be.
Ben
To keeps pushing it to me. They keep sending me, like, different promo stuff. Yeah, I have a whole box out there. And I was like, what is this? It's like, we'll have to show it. It's like this, like, quarterback. I haven't opened it yet, but okay.
Trisha Paytas
No back. I mean, yeah, he really. Maybe. I think of all the Tick Tockers, too. The guy. Tick Tockers, too. No back seems like the safest bet of all of them. Right? Like the Bryce Halls and Bryce Hall. Yeah. I feel like that whole group that they came up together.
Ben
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
No, Beck is like, you know, the most baby girl out of all of them. Right.
Ben
For sure. I know nothing. I don't even know what he looks.
Trisha Paytas
Like, but I know he's hot. And he watched Wiccan and loved it.
Ben
So he recorded the whole movie. He pirated it. Well, you know, T. Well, I love this wicked fit craze. I love that it's all over the place. Like, I keep buying the merch. Everywhere I see it, I love it. It'll be sad. Yeah. But you know what? What's great is, like, the Oscar will come around, the hype will bring back up, and then next year at this.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, exactly.
Ben
So I love that they did part in two parts because we're gonna do this all again next year.
Trisha Paytas
Like, I wonder if the press tour is going to be as, oh, like, intense next year, because now it's like everyone's hooked, so they can not do as much. But I feel like they're also just so passionate about it that they'll keep it up. You know what I mean?
Ben
Oh, for sure. I think it's going to be even bigger and better. I'm already planning my outfit for the second premiere.
Trisha Paytas
Cynthia Revo did have a really cringy interview, though. Not on her behalf, but she did an interview with Dax Shepard. Did you see it for his podcast?
Ben
I don't know why people still go on him. Like, I feel like he's always cringy. Who was the guy from Queer Eye that was on there? Do you remember that conversation?
Trisha Paytas
Oh, JV and Jonathan Van Ass.
Ben
Yes, yes, yes. Oh, my God. When they were on the podcast, it was so cringy and awkward. And I'm like, Dax is like, why? Like, he's just not ever on the right side of things. Like, he's. I don't know. Maybe it's the way he talks about things or explaining, but he's just always so wrong and everything. Why do people go on there? Because I feel like all his guests. You just offends. I haven't seen the Cynthia one, but I feel like he's just offensive in nature. He's just that person. So I'm just like, why do people keep going on it?
Trisha Paytas
I think some people can really Vibe with, like, a Dax Shepard. But I don't think, like, everyone. I think especially in the queer space.
Ben
Maybe that's where I was going with it. Yeah, yeah.
Trisha Paytas
Stick to, like, you know, out, like that out magazine reporter, fierce. Like, she is in queer media. And that's where the bubble should, you know, be. The queer media divas. Yeah. But, yeah, Cynthia Riva went on Dax Shepard's podcast Wild. Got literally annoyed by Dax Shepard. Like, she literally said, that's annoying question.
Ben
Same thing.
Trisha Paytas
Because.
Ben
Annoying.
Trisha Paytas
Yes, because Shepard asked. He said, can I ask you a really crazy question when you're wiping your butt? And then Cynthia cuts them off and goes like, oh, I knew you're going to ask that. And he basically was asking because obviously her fingernail. Her, like, acrylic nails are long as an homage to Alphabet, and she's been wearing, like, those long nails throughout the whole press tour. And he literally asked her about, like, wiping her butt with the nails. Like, how do you wipe your butt? Which is such, like a. It's such a straight man question to ask. Like, and why are you asking a. Like a potential Academy Award winner on the biggest movie of the year?
Ben
So, like, it's like, you guys 50. Exactly. He's like, 18 years old. I think it's also, like, something that culturally. She wears her long nails, too. I think it's like. Yeah, I remember she was, like, explaining, like, the whole, like, background of it and stuff like that. But I mean, love them. And I've always worn long nails, too. And I'm just like, people who ask those questions. You're like, I think you just, like, lack, like, all intelligence. Like, you just have to know. But everything I've seen of Dax is that he, like, has never. He's never had, like, one intelligent question. It's always just him, like, saying whatever comes to his mind. And there's not much in there, so it's, like, so odd. So what she just said, that's annoying.
Trisha Paytas
She said it's because he was like, I. He was like, this is a question people are probably too afraid to ask. And then she's like, no, no one's afraid to ask that.
Oscar
Like, he's so brave.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, literally, she said that she gets it all the time. And she answer is, nobody uses just their fingernails to wipe their backside. You use tissue. Correct. And you wipe. And then she, like, kind of showed a little demonstration. She's like, about how she, like, pads her fingers, whatever. Yeah, yeah, the mitt. And she said, I get it. I'm annoyed by it. Like, come on, guys. I get it, but I'm a functioning adult and never walk around smelling like, you know.
Ben
The insinuation of all that, too, is just, like, so weird. It's like. Like, it's not cleanly or something.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. Again, just very, like, straight. Great man.
Ben
I think Dax Shepard. I do everything about him. I'm just like, I never like anything about this man. I don't know anything about it, but also just, like, the stuff he. The way he talks about, like, I don't know, everything about him is just odd. Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
I don't really know that much about him. I love Kristen Bell, and they're, like, a cute couple.
Ben
Oh, are they still together?
Trisha Paytas
I think so. Right.
Ben
Because he's a little too open about their relationship, too. He's always, like, talking about, like, problems, and so I'm just like, this is a little much to be talking about with everybody. What did he say Something, like, he didn't like her or find her attractive. Like, something like, earlier, like, there was a weird. I don't know. I'm like, maybe it's a little off, but something, like, really personal about the relationship, and it was odd. Or he found her annoying. There was something, like, weird, and I was like, this is a weird couple. Maybe they didn't like each other or they were thinking about divorcing.
Trisha Paytas
There's also, like, I feel like you have to have a lot of money. You're. Kristen Bell's been in so many frozen. For crying out loud. You got frozen money.
Ben
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
You don't have to be doing this podcast. You know what I mean? Like, you're good.
Ben
No, he's just that guy that just wants to hear himself in a microphone. He's just, like, has a little set in the. Is it in the attic or something like that. Who will.
Oscar
Who will ask those questions?
Ben
Oh, my God.
Oscar
Fighting for freedom of speech there.
Ben
And the fact that he said that is like, you are so.
Trisha Paytas
And then aired it, too. I. I would be, like, too embarrassed to air it. You know what I mean?
Oscar
It's like, no, you're like, 2020 question. Like, you were talking about those things way back.
Ben
Yeah.
Oscar
You know.
Ben
No, people would ask me back.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Like, in 2010, I think of a video, like, everyone always ask me how you wipe, because I used to have, like, little danglies on mine and stuff like that. I'm like, are you all, like, just dumb? Like, are you dense? Like, how do you not know how to wipe yourself? Like, I don't understand. Like, with this question, like, it's just so weird.
Trisha Paytas
Like, acrylics are a new thing, you know? They've literally been around forever. So it's like, what?
Ben
Yeah, no, he's just. I don't know. That's an attempt at comedy. I think that's why he has a failed career, because not one movie has hit. Give me one dad Shepard movie without a paddle. No, sorry. Seth Green and Matthew Lillard made that movie, not him. So I just feel like he sucks at everything.
Oscar
Maybe you can ask her a different question. Like, how do you type an email? Like, there's different ways to talk about the nails and not go there. Like, that's the worst place you can take it.
Ben
Yeah, Just like, honestly, T, that actually.
Trisha Paytas
Is a Wade Gomez. That is funnier. Like, how do you know?
Oscar
I was always amazed by you. Like, you would type emails. Doesn't matter how long her nails would be. She would be able to type emails and do the whole thing.
Ben
I guess it's interesting. But again, you have Cynthia Revo, star of Wiccan. Like, and you're asking her that question. Like, she sings like that, and you're just like. Like, at least you found, like, he give us a riff. And we love saying, this is like your fingernails. Like, that's. We love it. It's beautiful. But obviously there's a thousand more questions I'd ask her before all that. It's kind of wild. All right. He is definitely double amongst us today. Definitely. I will say no to his podcast. I'd rather go on a Wayne Wilson podcast again than go on Dax.
Trisha Paytas
I think so, right?
Ben
Yeah. Awful name. Even that name is awful. Every. Everything about it sucks. Poor Kristen. Hope she's okay.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, oh, wait. But we forgot to mention that Kristen Chenoweth gave you your flowers for singing popular. We can't. We can't transition away from Wicked without that.
Ben
That's everything I did. School ice cream. I squealed all of the above. That was, like, so, so cool because Kristen is, like, the original Glinda, but she's also just like Broadway royalty. Like, when you think of Broadway, like, you just think of. Of Christian Chenoweth and, like, so many things. She's in Queen of Versailles next year. Like, she's just been consistently so good. Like, you're a good man, Charlie Brown. Like, she's been in so many good things. Obviously, TV doom. We love make a doom. We love Glee. She's just so. And she's funny, and she's charming, and everything about her is just amazing. So the fact that recognized me, I once had a dm from kristen channel with on tik tok and it was like the whole highlight of my life. And then to see this, like, publicly, I like, literally, I'm framing it just like the weekend. The weekend I'm framing this. It was so cool. And she posted on her story. I was. I was freaking out a little bit that those boys, Anthony and Jonathan. Jonathan's one that sang with Ariana for, like, years as a child. And I was just like, also found out so much more lore about them after. After that. So many people like, oh, it's this person. This person. He's the one that sang with, like, James Charlie. Why don't you say so? Didn't even know. You remember that viral one. It's so funny. Yeah. He's been on, like, so many things, so I found out the whole lore of that. I don't judge him for that. Obviously, like, be friends with whoever you want. But it was funny how you, like, find out so much stuff. But. But that's a good example of coaching. Right? Like, they literally spent hours with me that day. And it, like, you know, you hear. I feel like I'm not completely domed up. I feel like when I hear someone singing good, I can also, like, hear it. I think when I sing by myself, it's up. But anyways, they coached me for so long and I was like, sure. Songs really good. And I was like, thank you. Because I was worried I was gonna get ripped to shreds. I was like, I am gonna get ripped apart. So then when Kristen reposted, I was like, oh, my God. That's so cool. I was very happy they chose me for that song. It couldn't, like, it's like the most popular song right now. And I was like, wow, you chose me. That's so great. You know, Ariana and you could probably get Kristin chenoweth. Like, it's crazy. So I was. I was really honored. They did really well. I love it. It's been a very wicked weekend. And then we did the wicked dance yesterday and just I got recognized with Cynthia harriyanna. All of them. It's been. It's been a whirlwind. It's been great. I feel like I'm part of the press tour, too.
Trisha Paytas
Kind of actually just getting myself involved.
Ben
In any way that I spearheading it. Yeah, I love it. And it's not stopping. We're going to go see wicked at the painted. We're going to go see wicked York. We're gonna see wicked everywhere. It's okay. Are you Gonna see it when it comes here.
Trisha Paytas
Maybe shows.
Ben
Like live shows.
Trisha Paytas
I haven't really seen a live show ever. You're gonna die. At the one musical I've seen at the. At the Kodak, whatever it's called now. The Dolby High School Musical. When I was, like, in eighth grade.
Ben
I think they had a stage production.
Trisha Paytas
A traveling stage production. Yeah.
Ben
With the original cast.
Trisha Paytas
No, it was like a. It was like a tour. Boring rendition of High School Musical, I guess.
Ben
And it was like, acting too, or just the songs.
Trisha Paytas
It was acting. Yeah. Like it was a musical based on. He was like.
Ben
And not the original people. That's so weird.
Trisha Paytas
That's the only musical, I think.
Ben
Was it on off Broadway or something?
Trisha Paytas
It was trap. Like, touring. It was at the Dolby.
Ben
That's so weird.
Trisha Paytas
That's the only musical I see in real life.
Ben
That's so odd. Okay, well, go see Wicked. I think you would enjoy it. I. I just like. God, like, live theater is like, my favorite thing in the whole world. I think you would enjoy it. I think you should go.
Trisha Paytas
Honestly. Yeah. I. I didn't even expect to be a Wicked girl the way I am now, but here I am in the jersey and everything.
Ben
I was so excited. I know. I thought I ordered them a while ago. And then I went, like. Because I was like, oh, my God. I went. My things were still in the car. I was like, no. And everything was, like, sold out. But they still have the two X's so it pays to be. But actually, like, this is a 2x. It's actually not as baggy as I thought. I'm like. It's a little more fitted than I thought, but that's the tea. And it's been a. It's been a great Wicked run. And I'm gonna keep seeing it. Oh, and I want to do. I. Oh, I don't know if I told you, but when we come back. When I come back off the Trishman's live, we should go to the little cafe. That'd be fun. Because now we have the outfit.
Trisha Paytas
We have to. A Universal.
Ben
It's there through the end of the year, right?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, they said through the end of the year. Yes.
Ben
And get all the. And I want to see the store. I just want to see everything Wicked. It's so fun. That's our show. Just Wicked Hot topics today.
Trisha Paytas
Not. Not partnering right now.
Ben
You know who I would love on the podcast is Kiki Palmer. Have you seen her everywhere? Is she a hot topic for you?
Trisha Paytas
No, she wasn't on my Hot topics. But love, because we kind of talked about her before. She was. But at the end of the last.
Ben
Episode, you mentioned something about the Scream queens. I didn't know she was like, on this full book.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, she has a new. Her second book. It's her second, yeah.
Ben
Oh, another memoir.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, another memoir.
Ben
Master of Me.
Trisha Paytas
Master of Me. Yeah. And she's been doing a little press tour promoting the book. And I love Keke Palmer.
Ben
She's my dream guest.
Trisha Paytas
I love Kiki Palmer.
Ben
Oh, my God. I didn't. Again, I didn't know much about. I've always liked her. I thought she was, like, a cool vibe. She always does. Like, I think she was in Grease Live, like, with Vanessa Hudgens. Like, I really, like, always loved her, but I don't know much of her. I didn't know True Jackson. Like, I didn't know, like, her come up or anything, but. Did you watch the Club Shay Shay interview?
Trisha Paytas
Yes.
Ben
Oh, my God. After that, I was just like this because she's so quick, witty, funny. I kind of forgot because we did talk about in the podcast last year about the whole. Her stuff with her baby daddy that was, like, bad. I just didn't realize, like, all the stuff that she's been through, all the stuff that she's been in and. Yeah, she's been all over doing the press tour, talking about being, like, a child star, which I find so interesting. And I feel like she's the one child star who's, like, honest, you know, about it, which she had, like, a good experience, but I feel like she's still very honest, where she's like. She did feel the pressure of, like, being the, like, breadwinner. She said it was, like, an honor. But at the same time, I'm like, that's still a lot for a kid. It's, like, so crazy. She had a really good experience. She said she was really proud to be, like, the breadwinner. But I'm like, at the end of the day, I still think putting all, like, everything that the family is on your child is, like, crazy. Like, that's wild. And I think she's a great success story of being a child star. But I'm like, that's wild to be like, yes, yes, you quit your job. Yes, you push them to have this career. But, like, it is weird. The parents can just take all the money. They only give, like, what, 10% or 15% to the Coogan account, which is, like, insane. And then they all, like, live off of that. That, like, that's so. That's so much pressure for a kid. Oh my God. I, I think you have. But it's like how else would you be a child star? You know, you have to at your job or you have to be independently wealthy or something, take care of them. Yeah, it's like, I don't know. That's such a hard one.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, it is hard because especially like Akiki and her mom have like such a good relationship too and like her mom is like very protective of her and like has always been with her on all the different sets and stuff that she did too. But still, even that like it is hard. You like you said you can't work and you have to like put everything into like your kids. So it's this weird like dynamic and obviously like being a child star is expensive because it's driving to all these auditions and you have to get like, you know, the glam for all these auditions and stuff. Like it is hard to keep that lifestyle up too. So it's hard. But yeah, I love Kiki though because she's so like articulate about everything and like she's so like effortlessly funny.
Ben
So funny. The club shake, the Michelle reference. I had to look it up.
Trisha Paytas
No, I didn't look up.
Ben
Did you look it up? Yeah, I was like, wait, I didn't know. I was like Michelle then I looked it up. I was like, oh my God, something about his Instagram live. And I was like, oh my God, this is crazy. But it was interesting because she did say again, being successful, like having a good thing in child storm shit, like there should be more therapy on sets. But what I found so interesting was at 12 years old she had to kiss a 17 year old or been blue and then at 17 she had to kiss a 27 year old actor. I was like 12 and 17 is wild. Like they're both underage, I get that. But it's like so crazy. I he was like that kind of stuff I feel like shouldn't be like permitted because it's almost like don't want to say like a force kiss but it's not something that they're like choosing. Do you know what I mean? It's like a kiss is like so intimate at that age where I feel like I think she said, or someone else was saying like, you know, you don't know like what's like real or maybe she said, I don't know, it was me. She said, but you don't know it's like real or what's like. Because I think she maybe like didn't have a kiss in real life before. So it's like such a confusing thing. I feel like that's something they should like definitely not do. Especially when it's like a child and adult. When she was 17, 27, I think Kirsten Duncan did that in that vampire movie. She had to like kiss Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise when she was like 12 and they were like 30 or something. And I'm like that to me is weird that they don't have those laws because in real life if a 13 year old kissed a 30 year old man, people would be like you should go to jail. But in the movies it's like that's fine. I don't know, Hollywood can be a little corrupt that way. And she's not even, she's. She's pretty young. So it didn't happen that long ago. Maybe like 10 years ago that was still happening.
Oscar
Even like adults directing two kids to case. Cuz I think there was a case of like two kids that filmed themselves and they were charged themselves with xcp.
Ben
So it's like what two kids kissing.
Oscar
They were doing something. They filmed themselves. So I'm saying like even, even if you're underage filming yourself, you can't like it's illegal. So adults filming kids doing something, it's.
Ben
It is.
Oscar
I don't know if now it's legal. Like it just, I don't think it sounds.
Ben
It's illegal. I think it's still. Maybe it doesn't happen as much but I was just, I was kind of shook by that part of it. I was kind of like. And she does say it nonchalantly and I don't think she just seems like that like traumatized by it obviously. But it's just like such a odd thing that it happens so frequently and like no one really says anything and it is kind of just brushed over because even I love is his name Shannon on Club Station. I like him a lot as a host but even that he kind of glossed over. When she said she had to kiss a 17 year old. 27. Oh, you like older men or something like that. I was like that's kind of such a weird response to that because like when I was watching like that's like what, like what was happening. I don't know. I would never, never in a million years. I don't care if it's $10 million. If it's like Malibu's like we booked a TV show. I don't care. Was like Game of Thrones and like oh, she has to, like, kiss somebody, I'd be like, absolutely not under the age of 18. Because it's like, like, you just also, like, can't really, like, consent at that age. You know what I mean? I don't know. It's just like, such a weird. Such. I definitely would never be. I would never be like, oh, you have to kiss that person. That's so weird. That's so weird. I don't know. I think it's also, like, just unnecessary nowadays, too. I think in AI kisses didn't like Joe Hill and that you remember that girl. You remember they like CGI their kiss together. So it's possible out there. So do that instead. Or just don't have a child kissing somebody on the. You don't need to do it. It's very weird. Very odd, because you could turn out great. Huh?
Oscar
What was your first kiss? It was at work. Yeah, I think a lot of people memory.
Ben
I think a lot of people have. The other kids stars have said that too, where it's like their first kiss was on camera and I was like, that's too much. Too weird. But I love her. I don't even know where my cards went. Oh, here. I had more from the Kikis and everything. She's been everywhere and she is so pretty. I love her so much. Well, anyways, there's a lot to say, but I love her and I want you to come on the podcast. She might be my dream guest at the moment because I really do just, like, love everything about her and she's been. I want to read her. I bought the book. It hasn't come in yet. I got it a couple days ago on Amazon because I want to read it. I was like, oh, I love the honesty. Her son looks so cute, too. I just love her. I love a working mom. I love a mom that's, like, creative and still hustling and still, still doing it. And she seems good with her son, you know?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. And I think, too, again, the way that she, like, prioritizes Leo is so cute, like, because obviously she did go through a lot with her ex, Darius, and, like, I think, you know, there was that one, like, initial, like, lawsuit and stuff. But other than that, like, she keeps it all, like, very, like, private. And she literally said that specifically because she knows that, like, Leo one day is going to be able to, like, read everything, and she doesn't want him, like, reading all this stuff and for all this to be out there. So the fact that even with something so traumatic as that, like, she still is able to, like, be professional and, like, be so eloquent. The way that she talks about it, I think is, like, so amazing. I think she's, like, one of the, like, most hardworking, like, deserving person in the world and so good at literally everything. Like, she's a good singer, good dancer, good host. Like, she can do it all.
Ben
Yeah, no, she is actually amazing. And, yeah, you're so right about that. I feel she should have, like, a daytime.
Trisha Paytas
I could see her having, like, a daytime.
Ben
I feel like they probably have offered it to her. Maybe she just said, like, no, or there has to be, because she did. She hosted one with Michael Strahan.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. Which one? Good morning.
Ben
Yeah, it was, like, a trio of them. And I thought, that's the dream job. She probably has gone off. I mean, she probably could do anything that she, like, wanted to do. She's so good. Her sister was on, remember Claim to Fame?
Trisha Paytas
Oh, really? She was.
Ben
And it was like, it was. She made it pretty far, too. And, like, no one was guessing her. Like, all the clues were, like, a killer and the bee and all of a. Like that. And, yeah, she was supportive. She did a video for her sister because a lot of the celebrities, they're like, I'm related to this person. And they don't even do a video. They're just, like, sending our regards or something like that. So it was nice that she was. And she's arguably one of the bigger stars on that show, and she gave support to her sister. I think the sister won, didn't she? She won. I think so.
Oscar
I remember. Yeah, she was definitely in the final.
Ben
Yeah. Love Claim to Fame. Can't wait for that show to come back. You know who did turn down an offer? I have some inside information about people's Sexiest Man.
Trisha Paytas
Do you know about this? Oh.
Ben
Oh, I know who it was. Yes. Someone who came to visit me. He was at the house. He was telling me he knew inside information about people from someone who works at People that Pedro Pascal was actually offered Sexiest man of the Year. Really Turned it down because of, like, the interviews, I guess you have to do, like, a whole series of interviews, and he just. He didn't want it. He didn't want the title. He's like, no, thank you.
Oscar
Him promoting the magazine, then the magazine promoting him.
Ben
Something was weird, like. But he was offered, I guess, like. And he said no. Multiple. Like, multiple sources and everything that. That was. Saying that he didn't. What's with him not being at the Gladiator premiere?
Trisha Paytas
She's just like, he's filming. Him and Joseph Quinn were finishing Fantastic Four in London.
Ben
Okay.
Trisha Paytas
Flex. So he went to the London premiere of Gladiator because he was already in London.
Ben
So I thought he's like, I'm not doing this either. Not doing any. I hate that. Gladiator was trying to make, like, the gold dress theme a thing. Like, the pink and green, like, Wicked.
Trisha Paytas
Were they really?
Ben
It was a. It was a gold. On the dress code, on the invitations, like, wear gold.
Trisha Paytas
I was like, oh, for the premier.
Ben
Yes. Making gold happen. Every single influencer was in gold. I was like, okay, let's not be wicked. We're not gay. Like, it was. I did not want to be at that premiere. But it's crazy how there's, like, a group of influencers that just go to the everything premiere. Yeah, it's so weird. It's also. Must be exhausting because. No, like, you could be the biggest influencer, like, in the world. And I feel like they just don't care at those things, which is, like, fine. But it's just, like, ego alone, you know, a little bit like, Wicked. Obviously, I'm a fan. I love it. But I couldn't imagine going to Gladiator, just, like, stand there, like, nobody caring that I'm there, you know? And that's just it for every influencer. That's the truth. These, they're all, like, we said, the Wire Image people are like, getty Image, whatever I keep calling Wire Image. They're just old. They don't know. They take a couple pictures, whatever. And like I said, Brittany Broski talked about this, who's arguably one of the bigger influencers out there, and they didn't care to take her pictures. They won at the Joker, and they said, move along. So it is crazy. They go through so many of these. I wonder, either they're getting paid, which we talked about, they want that Getty image, which I get, or they just like to be in the midst. But it's just a lot of work just to.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, it is a lot of work. It's good pr. Like, you know, the more you're out is good. Like, you meet a lot of people. It's good networking. And I think if you have good, like, representation, I think you kind of are just, like, on the list. Because even for, like, Wicked, I was surprised that, like, some of the smaller, like, more like, cosplay creators who don't have, like, huge, like. Like, modest, like, followings, obviously, like, so good, but not, like, you know, like a Britney Broski or anything, still like, got special like, meet and greets with Ariana and stuff. And I was like, oh, kind of a guy.
Ben
I think Universal themselves, because that's how I was reached out. Wasn't through my. It wasn't through any agents or managers or anything like that. Like, they literally just reached. Reached out to my public email and it was someone directly from Universal like, dealing with all like the fans basically of the movie. So I think they were really intricate. Those two girls that are wizard of Oz historians, the Oz vlog and follow the Yelbert girl. Like, they have a modest following as well. Where I wouldn't say they're like super like mainstream. The biggest, of course in their genre of wizard of Oz historians, but like, but they were like lounge fly models. They got to interview Cynthia and Ariana. They got to go to the movie set. And like, they really did.
Trisha Paytas
That's so cool.
Ben
They were like on the set from last. Last year. They got to. So they, they. It was amazing. That universe, like recognized them and they got to be like the promotion for so many things. So yeah, I think they were really good about that, which is good. They should do that more. Get like the real fans. True.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. Even for like an eras tour situation too. Like, there's been like a lot of influencers that have gone that like, aren't like they make tick tocks and it's like, I'm not a swifty, but it was okay. And I'm just like. And it's like, wait. But like, oh, the Taylor stands were like upset because obviously, like, as the tour is like coming to an end, it is such like a big, like expensive ticket for so for the brands like have people who aren't like actual fans.
Ben
I'd be furious. Like, I think about that with My Chemical Romance actually at Dodger Stadium. I'm just know all these fake influencers are going to be there, be like, look at my email, my all black. I'm gonna be like fake. They're gonna be in a box too, faced by whatever. And I'm gonna be like them, just wearing black like, we're emo tonight. And our glitter drink. I just, I. I know it's gonna piss me off so much. So I get you swifties. I feel you. I'm a Mike ham head. And I was just like, no. It's so annoying.
Trisha Paytas
I'd rather like the, you know, like, it's. That makes me like the whole PR team behind Universal even more. The fact that they pick these like, stands to come get the special, like, access.
Ben
I've Never been invited to anything in my life. So the fact that Universal was, like, inviting me to the advanced screening, I was like, yes, absolutely. That's so cool. And then to the premiere, too, like, is actually, like, so crazy. So. And like I said, no one's ever invited me anywhere.
Trisha Paytas
So I don't know if, like, the glad the people were scanning Gladiator the same way, but it was still, like, a cool premiere. Like, it looked cool at least. Like, they built out the Coliseum, which was kind of intense.
Ben
They're trying so hard to be wicked. They're trying so hard, and you just never will be. You never will be. What were those box office numbers like?
Trisha Paytas
It was a modest second place.
Ben
Exactly.
Trisha Paytas
Modest.
Ben
Very second. Nothing about that seems appealing to me at all. Did you watch it?
Trisha Paytas
I haven't watched it. I probably. Probably won't. But I. It does seem the photos I've seen are all appealing to me. Pedro Pascal keeps posting, like, behind the scenes photos, and that definitely appeals to me. I love all the photos of all the boys. I love that.
Ben
I think Denzel Washington looks pretty hot in this movie. He looks so different.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, he does. And he's. He's bisexual in it, apparently.
Ben
Kiss.
Trisha Paytas
That's true.
Ben
That's crazy.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Oh, biphobic. What's homo mean?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, well, like, homo gay.
Ben
So, like, like, what's homo sapien?
Trisha Paytas
A person.
Ben
Oh, so it's just a person.
Trisha Paytas
The homosexual is, you know, two of the same.
Oscar
The man part of the homo sapien.
Ben
So homo means. This is suffix.
Oscar
I think it means men. Like human.
Ben
Omo means men.
Oscar
That's what it sounds like.
Ben
Like ombre in Spanish is man kind of the same. The h. It's like a mensexual. Oh, interesting. I never knew. So homo sapien, though.
Oscar
I think so.
Ben
Aren't I homo sapien?
Trisha Paytas
Oh, you're so right. Homo is Latin word for man.
Oscar
Oh, I was just analyzing what you're saying.
Trisha Paytas
Wow, Moses is so smart.
Ben
That makes sense. But as in a homo sapien, everybody.
Trisha Paytas
Yes.
Ben
So I'm a man.
Oscar
You know what I mean?
Ben
Like, human.
Oscar
You are man.
Ben
So it's interesting because if you just take the suffix. Prefix. What is it?
Trisha Paytas
Prefix.
Ben
Prefix homo. The. The prefix homo. Not the word. The prefix. Like, it is weird when you take it out of context. People use that as like a slur. Is it a slur or. No, it can't.
Trisha Paytas
It depends on the context. When I was growing up, used to be like, yeah, so.
Ben
But that's so interesting because it just, like, means man. Yeah, like, okay, I Am a man. But I guess it's just like, context into that, huh?
Oscar
It was more like a sl. Like you're in. Into men.
Ben
Well, so weird. People use that as a slur. Okay. And. What? That's crazy. Well, I love finding stuff out here every day on just Trish. Educating the world.
Trisha Paytas
Okay. So in Latin, homo is man, but in Greek, it means the same. So that's why homosexual. Yeah. And damn. I don't know.
Oscar
Oh, so same sex.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Interesting.
Trisha Paytas
And that's the history lesson meaning there.
Ben
I'm a bisexual, though. That's cool. They don't get enough representation in films, so I love that his character is that.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. I sad that they. I guess. Denzel Washington said the kiss was just on the hand, though. So it was kind of like, overhyped because. Yeah, that's weird. Variety. Mark Malkin. But he's. I think he really love. He's gay. And I. I think he was, like, representing the queer media because he was like, what happened to the gay kiss? And he was like, it was just on the hand, but.
Ben
Oh, well, don't diminish it. Just on the hand. That might mean something to a lot of people. All right, well, not seeing it.
Trisha Paytas
And like, Joseph Quinn wears, like, you know, the address in it, too. So it is a little, you know, flamboyant Paul Mescal in his skirts.
Ben
He said he wanted to be wicked.
Trisha Paytas
He wanted the skirts to be shorter. Paul Mescal said, because they weren't. They didn't show as much thighs. He usually shows so redeeming qualities about it.
Ben
I'm sure they're trying hard, and it's not. It's flopping still. Moana2 is going to knock him out of the water this weekend, I'm sure.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, yeah. It is interesting to see how Moana 2 will do.
Ben
It'll be Gladiator. I don't think it'll be wicked.
Trisha Paytas
I don't know either. There really isn't that much hype. But Moana is so popular.
Ben
I think it looks great. I can't wait to see it.
Trisha Paytas
No Lin Manuel. No Manuel Miranda songs.
Ben
Yeah. Which is so odd, I guess, because.
Trisha Paytas
Mufasa and it was supposed to be a Disney plus show that they repurposed into a movie.
Ben
So that's weird because Moana was so huge.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
I'm excited for that nacho boat. I hope when we go, they have the nacho boat. I would love to do across, like, Wicked popcorn with, like, a Moana nacho boat. That's gonna be so iconic. I'M bringing the hulking bag when we do it. I can't wait. I've been looking forward to it so much. And then when I found out we have these wicked buckets, I'm. It's gonna be even better. Can you. We were talking about this. Can you just bring any bucket into the movie and ask for popcorn?
Trisha Paytas
Question. I don't know.
Ben
Like, how do I know which one's real and which one's Cinemark? And can I bring a Cinemark into, like, an amc?
Trisha Paytas
That's a good question. You might have to bring, like, the bucket, according to, like, the. The theater chain.
Ben
That's what I said. But I was like, you can bring any bucket, and they'll fill it up.
Oscar
No, I said that if you bring a bucket, it's like if you go to Starbucks, your own cup, you pay for the coffee, but you use your cup. Oh, so you're not gonna get free popcorn if you bring a bucket for somewhere else, you pay for the popcorn, but you say, I want it in this bucket. But if you bring their bucket, they might refill it for you for free.
Ben
Well, you get it for free, right, if you bring their bucket?
Trisha Paytas
I think so, because when I brought in my Taylor Swift popcorn bucket, they just filled it for free. But I don't know.
Ben
Thought too. I don't know either, because we end up spending 200 when we go. Our snacks are so much.
Oscar
People will bring a Home Depot bucket if they could get it for free. So that's.
Trisha Paytas
See, that's the other thing, too, right?
Ben
How much do they charge you for a Home Depot bucket of popcorn? That doesn't seem like a thing they would do.
Oscar
So I think you still have to pay for the pop.
Ben
All right, well, we'll have to investigate.
Trisha Paytas
Where's the book?
Ben
Oh, Regal did reach out to me, actually, and they're like, we would love to send you a PR package of Regal. And then, like, we'd also like to send you and Malibu and Elvis to more Moana to at the theater of your choice.
Oscar
I want to see it too.
Ben
Yeah. Huh?
Oscar
I want to see it.
Ben
I think you were part of that package. I thought they included Elvis at six months. I'm like, I don't know if she's.
Oscar
Think I'm the most excited for everyone to see.
Ben
He loves Moana. No malas Moana, too. I feel like Moana is like, her fave and your fave. You guys love the water. What's the song she sings? I like to dance by the water I like how it misbehaves I love her. I love her. That's. That's Malibu's favorite song. He's like, I wanna see. Don't. She loves that one. She does love Moana. She loves the. You're welcome too. Although Moses pointed out that you're welcome is like, a little bit like, voodoo. Like, he's doing, like, voodoo on her. It's like a hallucination or something.
Oscar
No, in the song, he hypnotizes her, and then suddenly she snaps out of it and she's in a cave and he locks her up.
Ben
You know who's redeeming themselves with me this week? The rock.
Trisha Paytas
Really?
Ben
Oh, my God. Did you see him as Maui in the live action?
Trisha Paytas
Oh, yeah.
Ben
You seen the photos?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Oh, my God. His body is actually, like, godlike. Like, it's like crazy how thick and like, rock. He's just like a. He's just like a tree. He just looks like somebody that you want to be next to that would, like, take care of. You know what I mean?
Oscar
Hurricane.
Ben
Yeah. I. I was obsessed. He's redeemed himself in every single. Okay.
Trisha Paytas
I think he's wearing a. Like a suit in it. No, I think it's a muscle suit with the tattoos and stuff. I think that's so weird.
Ben
Why would they do that in the live action? That's like.
Oscar
You might have a thin layer for the tattoos, but it is mostly his body.
Trisha Paytas
He does have muscles.
Oscar
Yeah, it's mostly his body.
Ben
Someone said they hand painted all the tattoos on him every single day.
Trisha Paytas
Really?
Ben
That's what I had read because we had this debate over our friends giving was like, is if they're there. He's.
Oscar
He is huge. And he probably worked out and got ready for the movie, so I'm sure he gained even more.
Ben
He looked weight in muscle, like a. Not like, just looked amazing. He looks like Maui. I was like, okay, Maui. I'm excited for that one. Who's Moana? Who's the live action Moana?
Trisha Paytas
I forget who they cast for it. Oh, I. We missed out on the challengers lookalike contest, though, after we said we're going to be boots on the ground for.
Ben
Oh, I had a lot to say about this one. I'm over these lookalike competitions because, like.
Trisha Paytas
No one's really like these people.
Ben
They're just, like, dressing like them. And, like, that's me. I just. Yeah, I was. Look, I think anyone can. Like, we said anyone could look like those two guys. I feel like they found people that look nothing like them. They just Happen to eat churros together and, like, you look like them.
Oscar
That's bad. I should have gone and tried.
Ben
I should have gone, too. I have the Huawei person day I wore. I definitely could have been Tashi. I probably would have won. Like, that's like. So I have the shirt. We have the Louis shirt. We would have been. She wins for sure. They didn't look anything like them. And it's just like, okay, what? Like, what are we doing anymore? We've lost the plot.
Trisha Paytas
You didn't think the. The art looked like Mike Feist a little bit? He kind of did.
Ben
No, no, no. Mike Vice is like the. What is that called? Is it called the sixteen Chapel? What is that art? Sixteenth Chapel. Oh, Sistine maybe.
Trisha Paytas
I could definitely be wrong.
Ben
Chapel. He's like, the Sistine Chapel. Chapel. And look, no offense to that guy, but you can't compete with the Sistine Chapel because who's. Who did that? Someone that was not real. Isn't it like a, you know, like the China. The world. The China Wall. Like, no one knows who built it. Stonehenge. No one knows how to.
Trisha Paytas
What is that called?
Ben
A natural wonder. That's what my Feist is. He's a natural wonder of the world. How did they get there? How did the pyramids get there? We don't know. So it's not that person's fault. But I mean, my guys is my, like, so beautiful. And that guy was, you know, he's just like a person, which is fine. Everyone is a person. But my advice is, like, I thought.
Trisha Paytas
He kind of looks similar, but because it was hall and I. Maybe it was the hat that kind of sold me on it, I guess, backwards, red hat. I saw there was a lesbian who went. And she honestly did look pretty much like Mike Feist, but she didn't see her.
Ben
But.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God, let me pull her up, actually, because I do want to get. Now that I know you didn't approve of.
Ben
I did not approve.
Trisha Paytas
Art winner.
Ben
That's like, just a crazy thing to, like, put people up against, like, beautiful people. It's like, okay, Timothy Chalamet. A lot of people like him. That's cute. That's funny. But everyone else, I'm just like, they had a Rachel Senate one, and I'm like, okay, it's getting out of hand at this point. Did you go to the Hasan one?
Trisha Paytas
No. There is a Hasan piker look alike contest in. I think it's Chicago. Oh, I can make it. But maybe someone will sponsor the pilgrimage to Chicago. I would love But I'd be disappointed if no one, like, actually showed out. You know what I mean? Like, if they don't actually look like him, like, then it's like, damn, what are we here for? And then the guy who won for Patrick slash Josh O'Connor, I guess he didn't actually like. And he didn't show up to enter the contest. He was just there and the crowd. The crowd, like, demanded that he go in and, like, submit himself just because.
Ben
He was good looking. He didn't really look like Joshua Connor. He's handsome.
Oscar
Just to tell you how bad the competition was, like, this guy from the street that's.
Ben
You show up to the song, like, you win, I hear for the competition.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Okay, that makes sense because that guy also did not look like him. But he was cute. I mean, they both were handsome.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. But I like that they committed to the bit. They were playing tennis and stuff. They did eat the churro. Their hearts were not in it, though, when they were eating the churro. Like, no, there was no, like, chemistry between.
Ben
Yeah, it was the best. I really hope that movie. I don't think it's gonna get nominated, but I really hope that movie gets nominated. What is it? There's a movie called Queer, Isn't it? Yeah, that's. When's that out?
Trisha Paytas
I think next week.
Ben
That's. That's gonna win for that director.
Trisha Paytas
Maybe it's not getting amazing reviews, so I guess we'll see. But yeah, it's the same director as Challengers, but Zendaya and Mike Feist just did, like, around the press for Challengers, so maybe I think they're trying.
Ben
She had, like, a double screening, right, for.
Trisha Paytas
For Dune and Challengers. Yeah.
Ben
She should win something. She is very good.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. I think Dune will definitely get technical awards like costuming or something. Like, it'll get those nominations. It'll be interesting to see. I think it's hard to break Breakthrough this year because her movies came out so early.
Ben
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
I honestly thought for Challenger she'd be a shoe in. But then so much has, like, happened these the past couple of months with, like, Emily Prez and Wicked that now I'm like, damn.
Ben
But I heard Emily Prez wasn't getting good reviews either. People are, like, not talking about it.
Trisha Paytas
It's getting good. Not from, like, I think audience scores are kind of, like, all over the place, but from critics. It's doing well.
Ben
Oh, I. Besides Wicked, of course. Challenger is my favorite movie of the whole year. I still love it so much. I. What did I see like, three times when I was pregnant. I love that movie. It's so good. Because I feel like that's a talent to make a movie that's like, kind of about nothing. Like, so fascinating to watch, you know what I mean?
Trisha Paytas
There's not a big, ornate plot.
Ben
It really is just like there's nothing happening.
Trisha Paytas
They're horny and.
Ben
Yeah, but it's exciting. Like, they're sweaty. The angles are cool. Like, everything about it is like the breakfast bagel sandwich, which I still eat to this day. I literally, because of that movie, like, loved it so much. Like, I stan it so hard. I hope they win. Mike Feiskey saying he snubbed west side Story. Now this. I guess he just can't catch a break, but I love him.
Trisha Paytas
And then there was also the Glenn Powell lookalike contest too. And then this one actually was pretty good. A big showing in Texas for the Glenn Powell lookalike context. That's where he's from. Is from Glenn Powell's hometown. And it does make sense. I feel like Glenn Powell kind of easier to look like, right?
Ben
I feel like, yeah, he looks like everyone to me.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. Especially in Texas. I feel like you can probably find a lot of Glenn Powell's. And there were. Yeah, the lookalikes were pretty good for that one. And Glenn Powell's mom even went to be one of the judges.
Ben
Oh, so she picks somebody. Did he look like him?
Trisha Paytas
Honestly? Yeah.
Ben
I mean, everyone looks like him. That's why to me, he's never been anything to me because I'm like, God, I know like, 20 people. Like, where I'm from, like, everybody looks like that. Good looking, I guess, but like, I don't know, just kind of nothing.
Trisha Paytas
It did kind of movie star status, though, because he had a big crowd. And then he also, like, he couldn't come to be a part of the look like contest because he was filming, but he sent like, a video message and then he and invited the. The lookalike winners family, like, as a guest role in his next movie because he always has what his parents has, like, little cameos in the background of his movie. So he's like, to get the same Glenn experience, you can have one of your family members be in the movie, which is nice. I think he's doing too much.
Ben
That's too much when the movie comes out. Oh, those are the lookalike parents.
Trisha Paytas
I think it's so charming. Me.
Ben
No, I think he's trying too much. He. He gives me tries too much vibes. I don't think against him. I think he just doesn't like too much.
Trisha Paytas
I see. I can see it is a little try hard, but I think it's charming. I don't know. I don't like, love. Like, he doesn't excite me the way that he excites a lot of people. Like, he doesn't. I don't know. I don't get like the. The rush. Nothing for Glenn Powell, but I think he is so sweet and charming.
Oscar
Well, yeah, it's one of those PR moments where they're like, oh, there's this thing. We need to find a way to make it special in PR and maybe to go viral.
Ben
I mean, that's more viral than the. I thought the Twister press tour was the most boring thing in the whole world.
Trisha Paytas
What you did.
Ben
Weren't they, like in a simulation? Like, oh, my God, that's crazy. I was like, what is this?
Trisha Paytas
I like the Twisters press tour. And he brought his dog everywhere. I'm like, that's cute.
Ben
Boring. So boring. Did he also snl? Did he also. Did he. Oh, that's Ryan Gosling. See, they all.
Trisha Paytas
They do. I do.
Ben
They blend into each other to me.
Trisha Paytas
But yeah, yeah. But I don't know. I thought it was cute. I like that he's still sending a little video. He seems like, I don't know and sent his mom there. I'm like, that's cute. It's cute. All right.
Ben
I like it. Bored of it, but that's fine. I guess.
Trisha Paytas
I do feel like we are reaching, like, a little bit too much of the look like contest, though. They were fun and I like the sense of community, but now I'm a little like, okay, it's too much.
Ben
Too many people.
Trisha Paytas
I feel like we've done them all. The Hassan one will be my last. I'll tap out after that because I'm curious. That is a good question. When is the Hassan one, you know.
Oscar
Who'S unique looking and nobody can look like them?
Ben
You?
Oscar
I look like everyone.
Ben
That guy over there, John Krasinski, keeps coming back. Why does he have two covers?
Oscar
I don't know. They have two.
Ben
Don't even need one. Neither one of them. I'm sorry, Are giving sex again. Good looking, but, like, this is the sexiest man. This gray blazer right here. Like, that's so weird. That look is crazy. He looks like Shane Dawson Here. The eyebrows.
Trisha Paytas
I see it. Yeah, I see it.
Ben
Okay, well, yeah.
Trisha Paytas
Hasan's lookalike contest is December 8th in Buckingham Fountain, Chicago. Damn.
Ben
What was the day? Sorry.
Trisha Paytas
December 8th, December 8th. Yeah.
Oscar
Sounds very official.
Ben
Is he gonna be there, you think? Is he from Chicago?
Trisha Paytas
I have no. Like, why Chicago? I have no idea.
Ben
Like, Oakland is in there. I know you said Texas, so maybe he's from Chicago.
Trisha Paytas
Maybe.
Ben
This is crazy. Like, literally, the. Again, being sexiest man should be like, a wet T shirt. Like, why is he in, like, these blazers?
Trisha Paytas
Anything else?
Ben
Literally, it's all dark, and it just looks. I mean, this is. All right.
Oscar
Well, we know it's because he's the only one that accepted it.
Ben
Right? Actually, though, wow. He's okay. Well, yeah.
Trisha Paytas
I just don't get the vision. I don't get the vision, the artistic vision, because even, like, like, the Hollywood Reporter, I think, did, like, their roundup of, like, you know, actors of the year or whatever. And that photo shoot of, like, Glenn Powell and Josh Richards and not Josh Richards. Oh, my God. Josh O'Connor. Josh O'Connor. Jonathan Bailey. Like, they all look sexier than the sexiest man on his Brad.
Ben
Whatever. The styling they did for this is insane. Love him. He should have been honestly, the COVID over John Krasinski.
Trisha Paytas
Betty Block. Yeah.
Ben
I like that they have him in, like, food and stuff like that.
Oscar
That's also a person. At least people have opinion about him. Like, he looks good. You know what I mean?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, true. Interesting choice.
Ben
His eyes are pretty. I don't know what he's eating. That doesn't look that good. No Bolognese. I'm ready for the magazine to be like, that's do bolognese in the shoot.
Trisha Paytas
Well, actually, you know what?
Ben
Fashion Nova did that.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, I was gonna say you just did that.
Ben
They're like, where's your favorite spaghetti meatballs? I was like, for lunch or. And then that's for a shoot. I was like, all right, so tell.
Oscar
Them to hire me to cook for you.
Ben
I know that would have been great. Fashion Nova's wild. If you go to their TikTok right now. Fashion novacurve.com this is or not Fashion over curve on TikTok. Not an ad. Literally their last 50. I'm not exaggerating. 50 TikToks are all me.
Trisha Paytas
That's fierce.
Ben
I got, like, hired to do a content day, and I was like, cool. Love it. Yes. It was a good bag. I was like, thank you so much. I love doing this content day. I thought it was being a model, but it's literally just like, just their entire account. They really maximize it because I was only there eight hours, but they really did.
Trisha Paytas
That was a long time, though.
Ben
That Mukbang. I ate for like, literally an hour and a half. By the end, I was like, so sick after that. It was good, though. They gave me nuggets and pizza, but it was cool by the end. LA fashion Nova.
Trisha Paytas
Hailey Bieber. Remember I said I was trying to be on the Hailey Bieber, like, train? She kind of pissed me off. She kind of pissed me off again. Yeah. And I really, I really was trying to be on the Hailey Bieber bandwagon. Like I said, love the phone case. Like, I think the little road. I think all the road stuff is cute. The strawberry milk, whatever. The Krispy Kreme donuts from last year. I was like, you know, I could get behind. But she called out Billboard over their ranking of Justin Bieber on the greatest pop stars of the 21st century.
Ben
Oh, I did see something about this.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, yeah. Justin Bieber was. Was placed 8th place on the 25 Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st century, which he's above Adele and like Ariana Grande. So it's. It's still a really good achievement, Good accomplishment. But she commented on the Instagram of him being eighth place, saying. Saying that Billboard is a effing joke, as per usual.
Ben
Oh, my God, the aggression.
Trisha Paytas
I know. And I'm like, wait, girl, what are you talking about? Eighth place, the greatest pop stars of all. Like the 21st century. There's so many.
Ben
What's the 21st century? Is it two, 2,000 and on?
Trisha Paytas
I think so, yeah. 21st century. Yeah.
Ben
Well, yeah, I mean, also, like, yeah, he's a.
Trisha Paytas
Being above Adele. Like, okay, he's literally above Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Jay Z, Nicki Minaj, Eminem, Usher, Adele, Ariana.
Ben
He.
Trisha Paytas
The only people above him so far are Rihanna. Rihanna's third, so they haven't announced number two or number one. It's going to be Beyonce and Taylor, but we don't know the place.
Ben
O.
Trisha Paytas
Who's number one?
Ben
Probably Beyonce. Everyone loves Beyonce.
Trisha Paytas
I think Beyonce's been around longer, so it kind of makes more sense. From Destiny Child to solo.
Ben
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
Because Beyonce was well on her the second album or third album when Taylor debuted, so.
Ben
Oh, yeah.
Trisha Paytas
Longevity wise, I feel like Beyonce makes sense.
Oscar
But if they fear for their lives.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Thank you, Beyonce. Love you, Beyonce.
Trisha Paytas
But above him, number seven is Kanye west, which I was like, okay, that's a choice. But then Britney's number six, Lady Gaga's five, Drake is four, Rihanna's number three, and then Taylor, Beyonce, Drake.
Ben
So I would be mad, I guess too, if my husband.
Oscar
But can you imagine If I was commenting on posts about you, on articles.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Kanye and Drake are above me. I hope you are. That is wild. I'm. I'm in support of Haley Bieber on this one. Absolutely.
Trisha Paytas
Drake at least has so many, like.
Ben
I can't tell you what's on my cell phone. Call me on my cell phone hotline.
Trisha Paytas
Bling.
Ben
Oh, is that the same song?
Trisha Paytas
That's a cell phone song. Yeah. One dance. I know one dance. I mean, I'm not a Drake. I'm not team Drake at all, but I can at least acknowledge everything he releases. Does really, really well. I don't think he's that great, but he is a really big artist. That kind of makes sense. And also, Justin hasn't released anything in a long time like everyone else.
Oscar
I think that's the main thing, because they're still pushing music out and he doesn't need to.
Ben
That's how iconic Justin Bieber is.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, but that's why I'm like, eighth place. I feel like you should be at peace with. I don't know. 8th place is good when. Look at the company or at, like, right, Like, Ariana just had a number one album this year. Two number one singles, and he's still above her.
Ben
You know what? The girls postpartum, I think she should feel all the emotions and let them.
Trisha Paytas
Think about the postpartum. That's true, but. And she did end up deleting the comment, thankfully. But I'm like, I don't know.
Ben
That's wild. She got, like, bullied into deleting it. Stand by it, girl.
Oscar
Maybe he asked her, like, hey, I can see that. You be like, delete that.
Ben
No, I wouldn't. I'm like, wow, look at him standing up for me. No, absolutely not. I can't buy her. I like that she supported it. I love the comment. I get it. Oh, my God. I, like, cried for days. I couldn't go to my Chemical Romance concert when I was postpartum. So, you know, get all those feelings out, all the emotions and. Absolutely. It is an effing joke. I agree. What is it? Billboard? Yes, Effing joke. Billboard. But Kanye, I mean, I just think, like, why. That's crazy. No, but all the talent in the world, if you're like a really person in 2024, like, you really said, like, awful things, like a wide group of people and, like, didn't have remorse, didn't take back, said it wrong. Nothing like that. I think that, like, you're just excluded from everything. Your talent doesn't matter. At that point, like, it's just like you're a human. So I think that, like, should take into, like, some accountability of it all. That was wild. Yeah, that's enough. And joke. I'm with Haley on that. Justin should be number three above Britney. Oh, no, no, no. Britney. Britney should be number one. But Britney, Beyonce, Taylor, Justin, Lady Gaga. Well, you know me. I'm not a little monster. Okay? I don't know. I haven't really gotten into the Gaga universe, but maybe one day I will. You know me, I'll always jump on that bandwagon. Joka La Doux.
Trisha Paytas
Is that what it's called?
Ben
What's that?
Trisha Paytas
Something about a dance. Oh, something in dance.
Ben
Oh, it was going to be a dance. I gotta watch it. That's on my list. That and Hot Frosty.
Trisha Paytas
I do want to see Hot Frosty.
Ben
Everyone's like, clowning him. They're like, wow, he's not hot. I was like, oh, my God.
Trisha Paytas
Well, I think he is.
Ben
Yeah, it was, you know. Oh, we have watched Schitt's Creek. It's the. It was the guy that dated Alexis and Schitt's Creek. That, like, kind of cute guy, but he looks so different now. I still think he's hot, but he looks like. It does look like a completely different person.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, I thought he was like a hot. Yeah.
Ben
I mean, what happened to him? He's not hot enough. I was like, oh, my God.
Trisha Paytas
Jesus.
Ben
There's also Lindsay Lohan movie coming out Wednesday with Kristin Chenoweth. Oh, really?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
What's it called?
Trisha Paytas
I forget what it's called.
Ben
I have it on my list of things to watch because I want to watch Hot Frosty and I love. I love, like. Oh, that's my goal for next year. Ca. Hi. If you're listening, I want to act in a Hallmark Christmas movie. So bad.
Trisha Paytas
Netflix or even more con. But our little secret is the Lindsay one. Yes.
Ben
I love it. I. I would love to be in, like, one with like a plus size, like, lead, where it's like. Like there's a baker who loves rolls. And I'll be like, look at all these roles. You know what I mean? Like, just something like that where it's like super sexy. Is it Nicola Coughlin? They're going to be the next Bond girl. Did you hear that?
Trisha Paytas
Oh, no. But that's fearsome.
Ben
So a Doctor who. She's like, everywhere. It's everything. But I would love, you know, just putting it out there. It worked for British and Netflix. If you want a Christmas lead I would love to do. I wouldn't be in a Christmas movie so bad. Get Candace Cameron Beret out of there. You know what I mean? Because honestly, she is kind of homophobic. Right. I feel like you just can't tolerate that in 2024.
Trisha Paytas
It's only 2025.
Ben
Especially more so 2025. We're definitely not tolerating it. So that needs to go.
Trisha Paytas
I would love to see you. And I love like the. The formula for like a Hallmark at. And these are very. It's Netflix. But these still, like, very Hallmark coded. Yeah, yeah. It's very just like camp, you know, I can't leave. I can't live in this small town. I'm traveling from the big city and I'm here and it's the spirit of Christmas and you're a hot man. But the big city is calling me. I can't stay here. I need to go work. But it's the Christmas spirit and it's all about this small town and the spirit of the holidays. I think I need to move here and help this town. It's like always that.
Ben
Not that movie last year with Torture Over Street. I did a whole asmr just like that of doing a whole Christmas movie in asmr. I thought it's because it is. That's kind of the day. That's what Christmas makes you feel like. It's like, forget everything else. It's the Christmas season.
Trisha Paytas
No, like, I just want the small town, cozy feeling.
Ben
I love it. Isn't that is so many plots. But I love it so much. And I want to be in that movie because that probably just makes you feel so warm and cozy.
Trisha Paytas
And I love the idea like you filming it in the middle of summer or something.
Ben
It's always July when they film it. I love that. I'm so ready. I love a good Christmas movie and especially these kind. Chad Michael Murray is like doing a bunch of promotion for his. I love that all these actors like Lacey Sherbet, like all these people are just doing it. Lindsay, such a slay doing all these.
Trisha Paytas
Yes.
Ben
It's really probably lucrative because honestly, Vanessa.
Trisha Paytas
Hudgens did like five of her Christmas princess movies. Remember the Netflix one where she was like a twin? It was like a twin Christmas princess or something.
Ben
No idea.
Trisha Paytas
There was like four or five of them and they were always big hits. I think she had a top after a while because it's like, how many you can't keep doing.
Ben
I would do it every July. That's all I'd want to do. That'd be so fun. Especially. July's kind of depressing. There's nothing happening. It's kind of slow. I would love to have Christmas in July.
Trisha Paytas
I saw a rumor there was, like, a whole thing coming out of someone who used to work at Hallmark who said, like, Lacey Sherbet. Is that pronounced? From Mean Girls fame, obviously. But, like, there was someone who used to work at Hallmark that alleged that they were like, oh, they're looking for someone younger to replace her because they're tired of the these older actresses in these, like, Hallmark movies.
Ben
But how old is she?
Trisha Paytas
That's a good question. She must be like, what, late 30s, early 40s?
Ben
She might be 39, I would guess.
Trisha Paytas
Because Rachel McAdams is in her 40s now.
Ben
True. Yeah. It is crazy, actually, this year, 42. Well, I am younger. Netflix. I'm 36. Me just going against. Right. Get those old out of there. 36, young and spry. I'm ready.
Trisha Paytas
One is worth. Hallmark has refuted the allegations, but, yeah, fake news.
Ben
All right, well, I always envision of, like, Hallmark needs someone to show, like, us. Like, I guess they don't, do they?
Trisha Paytas
No, it's very wholesome. Like I said, this small. Candace Cameron Bray is not doing nude scenes at Hallmark for sure. Maybe Netflix is the Chad Michael Murray ones. He's a stripper.
Ben
He's like, yeah, is the hot, frosty Netflix, too? Okay, so I'm gonna go to the Netflix one.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
And I always thought, like, if they want to show, like, a real C section scar, I go naked for it. You know what I mean? Not a prosthetic one too, because I've seen sometimes. Why should.
Trisha Paytas
You know what?
Ben
They never show C section scars. I think that's a movement unto itself. I feel like people are just, like, scared to show it.
Trisha Paytas
They honestly should because I feel like it's so normal.
Ben
YouTube demonetized my C section video.
Trisha Paytas
What?
Ben
Yeah, I showed my scar and they, like, demonetized it for, like, nudity. I was like, okay, first of all, not even nudity. It's like my pelvic area. Like, it's so weird.
Trisha Paytas
That is weird.
Ben
Yeah, don't shame. Don't shame the C sections. But anyways, if anyone wants a scarred person in their video naked Lee Daniels, call me up Precious too. That'd be wild to see, like, my scarred up body on the big screen screen. I would love it. I think it gives so much like for the scar community. Like, so much, like, positivity. Granted, my scars were because of my choice. Well, actually, technically not this one, but these were, I guess, my choice to be scarred. But scarred forever nonetheless. Yeah, yeah, don't mind it. I love a scar. People always like, don't you want to get rid of those? I was like, no, I'm good.
Trisha Paytas
Who was it? Oh, I was trying to think. There was another. I think Sebastian Stan just did a movie with someone who was, I don't know, scarred or, like, disfigured in some way too. And yeah, it was, like, a lot of good representation because I think the person was actually, like, in the movie or, like, was working in the movie too, and everyone was like, oh, this is good, like, representation.
Ben
Yeah. I feel like there's just so much, like, body types and things that are out there that should be shown more normalized, glorified.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God. We just was a topic submitted by Jimmy, and I'm really excited to get your take on it.
Ben
Jimmy.
Trisha Paytas
Yes.
Ben
Hi, Jimmy. He's so busy nowadays. I, like, was asking for 5000 things. Can you get Patreon? Patreon a clip? A tick tock. This one. Terry Jo. I like. There's so many, like, things. He's like, if I'm overwhelming you, let me know. He's like, I got it. Don't worry. I was like, okay, Jimmy, if I overwhelm you, let me know. Because I do love to just pile things on people. I'm just like, oh, how about this? This and this?
Trisha Paytas
Okay, he submitted this Hot Topic. It's Amelia de Moldenberg's chicken shop date with Elmo, but specifically Elmo being a little body shaming. Yeah. No.
Ben
Oh, could you imagine? He gets canceled finally. That little white goober's been around too long.
Trisha Paytas
To the Cookie Monster.
Ben
Oh, no.
Trisha Paytas
Okay, so let me. I'll play the clip. Jimmy specifically said. He's like, I'm gonna do a side by side. So he was. He's ready for it. Who?
Ben
Side by side of what?
Trisha Paytas
Of. Of this clip with you reacting to it.
Ben
I thought I was supposed to do it. I was like, how many cookies have you had? Sesame street have chicken shops. We have chickens who go to shops. I feel like chicken's probably a shopaholics.
Trisha Paytas
They like to buy corn.
Ben
What do you think the Cookie Monster would make of chicken shops? A mess, right?
Trisha Paytas
He would eat this table if you'd let him.
Ben
Oh, God, he'd eat the whole thing. Would you say you have a smaller appetite than the Cookie Monster? Most people do.
Trisha Paytas
Right? Like, kind of body shaming.
Ben
Cancel, cancel. Devil amongst us is Elmo. That's wild.
Trisha Paytas
Do you think they descript it or.
Ben
Do you think they improv it? That was wild. That person needs to be fired. I'm sorry. I know we shouldn't call for that, but, like, I think maybe that. Could you imagine? Oh, my God. What the hell? Like, it went on and on. Like, it was like I was kind of getting the first one. I was kind of in disbelief. Oh, my God.
Trisha Paytas
This whole table. Oh, my God.
Ben
Oh, my God. Fat phobias. Alive and well, too. In 2024, he was like, Sesame Street. Elmo is a little. I don't like him more. He's. Her and Dax Shepard should have a podcast together. They can just body shame and ask.
Trisha Paytas
About who was the actor that attacked Elmo on the Today show or something. Remember that? We talked about it.
Ben
I remember someone attacked Elmo from us.
Trisha Paytas
What's his name? From. Is he always sunny? Is it that guy? What's his name?
Ben
Had it coming, I guess. God, almost been saying this for a long time.
Trisha Paytas
Larry David. That's what it was.
Ben
Oh, iconic icon. Did he attack him?
Trisha Paytas
He attacked Elmo because he was going on about mental health, and I couldn't take it. I throttled him and I would do it again.
Ben
I love that almost. Mental health is an also fat shaming Cookie Monster. Okay. This always happens. That is such a reflection of society. People are like, yes, mental health also you fat Cookie Monster.
Oscar
Table Malibu is gonna be so upset. She loves Cookie Monster.
Ben
Yeah. Cookie Monster. Only in this house. No more Elmo. I don't even. I'm sorry. Elmo is annoying. His voice, everything about him is so awful. He thinks he's a star of Sesame Street. No, not even close.
Trisha Paytas
I'm surprised he didn't get more, like, backlash for that. I was like, damn, is Elmo immune from canceling? It might have to be you. You might have to raise. I know, I know.
Ben
I'll keep talking about it every episode. He's the new Colleen. I will never stop talking about it. They have a lot of similarities, I guess. They love to bod shame. All right, well, just because you're jealous of Cookie Monster, he's more beloved and has way more action figures than you ever will. Elmo, you were cool in 95 with the tickle Me Elmo when you were sold out, but you're still on the shelf last time I checked. So does Dragging Elmo. I don't like it.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God.
Ben
That guy's. That's wild. I wonder. That's wild. Did she say anything? She didn't even, like, defend it.
Trisha Paytas
No, I don't even think it's been, like, talked about that much. Surprisingly. I'm like, this needs more awareness. Flip it on T. More awareness.
Ben
Jimmy sent me this clip so I can put on Tick Tock. I want it to go viral everywhere because I think there is probably more like Elmo hate out there. For sure. Rightfully so. It's just like. Yeah, he's been going under the radar under our guys. If he's cute and funny and sassy.
Trisha Paytas
Little devil amongst us.
Ben
For sure. He's red. Like the devil.
Trisha Paytas
It is double. Yeah, the red is double coated.
Ben
Nothing wrong with the color red. Unless you're Elmo. Unless you're Elmo.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God.
Ben
Stop sign. Huh?
Oscar
Or stop sign.
Ben
Or stop time.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, yeah.
Ben
Tina, Jimmy, that was a good one. Because I have not heard that anywhere else and I love that we're talking about it and I think that should be talked about more. Especially cartoons. Cartoons get away with everything because they're a cartoon. It's like crazy. It's like being a man in this world. It's like, oh, you can say whatever you want. It's like, I'll have a comedian, though. Oh, I'm a cartoon. Okay.
Trisha Paytas
Or a puppet, I guess.
Ben
Yeah, it's like. It's exactly a puppet. Okay. They also.
Oscar
I mean, he is a straight man. Elmo.
Ben
We don't know. We don't know the sexuality. Let's not go crazy. We don't want to assume. Do they even talk about sexuality on Sesame Street?
Trisha Paytas
I don't know. It's a good question.
Oscar
Yeah. Because Eric and Ben, they were a gay couple.
Ben
Who's Eric and Ben's the.
Oscar
The one that's like long haired and, oh, what do you call them?
Trisha Paytas
Hair with the orange hair. Yeah. They were gay.
Oscar
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
Okay.
Ben
We don't know that. Okay, well, sounds problematic. We cancel Sesame Street. Is it still on? Is it still going?
Trisha Paytas
It is still going. I'm pretty sure.
Ben
I think Andrew Garfield was on there talking about grief. I did see that.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, me too. I thought that was sweet. They do have their sweet. I guess it depends on whose hand is up. Elmo, I suppose.
Ben
I don't know.
Trisha Paytas
I'm sure there's different hands, right? Or different people. Is there? No, I don't know.
Ben
Guess. Stay true to the character.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, that's true.
Ben
You know what I mean? Can't go off too far.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. So, like, if you're the different actors who play the characters at Disneyland, they're all the same. They have the same mo.
Ben
Yes, exactly.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
You have to have the backstory. What would they do in this situation? That's wild. I can't believe he was on chicken shop day. What are you promoting anyways?
Trisha Paytas
That's a good question. Just Sesame Street. I got. Yeah, the flop toys, I suppose.
Ben
The flop toys. That's the real team. Remember when Tickle Me Almost. You remember those? And everyone, like, they were sold out. Those things were so scary. I was like, no, thank you.
Trisha Paytas
I never wanted one. I don't think I was ever a Sesame street girl either.
Ben
Yeah, they have, like, a Sesame street world down in, like, San Diego. Like a land you can go to, too. But it looks. Looks a little rinky dinky if you ask me. It looks a little bit. It looks scary. Like every. All those little puppet things look scary around there. It just does not look like the vibe.
Trisha Paytas
Well, another problematic diva, Jojo Siwa, did break up with her girlfriend from. So what?
Oscar
I thought they had a $30,000 trip to Hawaii.
Ben
Poor JoJo. I do.
Oscar
Poor girlfriend.
Ben
Wait, why poor girlfriend? We don't know what happened.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, they are. She said that they're still, like, amicable. It's not like the other that. What was the other one? What was her name? I forgot her name that first. The. That they were, like, on Tick Tock together all the time. And then. Yeah, okay.
Ben
This one's, like, amicable for now.
Trisha Paytas
Wait till she writes, Tell all or just who the. After I date.
Ben
Oh, man, that would be the series for sure. Look, I know. Mean, I think Jojo, she has her issues, you know, but I think she's. I think she's gonna have a hard time dating. I think, just in general, because she is. I think she just had a lot going through her life. I don't think she's unpacked. I don't think she's really, like, you know, like. What's the word I'm looking for? I guess unpacked. What's happened to her in life? So I feel like she's still kind of stuck with, like, everything's great, and I'm cool, and I'm in control of my character and my image. But I think she, like, will realize one day she's maybe been through a little bit more than she realizes, which is maybe why she's having trouble keeping relationships. I mean, she's young. I'm not judging it. Like, I. First of all, I did not have a relationship. Nobody wanted to date me. But, yeah, I think she'll. She seems to have, you know, whatever. I'm not trying to judge, all right? Well.
Trisha Paytas
It was just like, I think the timing of it because she was like, I'm. She vowed after the last one, she's like, I'm never going public again with the relationship. And then like, she went public and then a month later they broke up. And then like she. She overshared about like the vacation and all that. And then she did reflect on that. She said, you f up and you put things in public and you shouldn't be. And she said, unfortunately, that's the only way that you learn sometimes. And I've had to learn some hard lessons, but they've paid off in the end. And she said she made a new friend that has appreciated how resilient she is. She said, I recently, I think just a platonic friend.
Ben
Okay, why did she say include it then?
Trisha Paytas
Honestly, Wait, T. I didn't look into it that much, but now that you said that. She said, I recently had a new friend come into my life.
Ben
Oh, my God.
Trisha Paytas
And the one thing that they always talk to me about is how resilient I am. They kind of hold a mirror up to myself. And I'm really appreciative of that friendship because that's a really interesting thing to have someone put a mirror in front of you and do it in a positive way. It's brought a new perspective into my life.
Ben
See the fact that she's already giving credit to this friend. It's like if you have a friend in your life, you don't like, hold them up on a pedestal like this, like this new friend. Thank you. I love having a friend like that would be like, not the thing you would say in this article. So girl, just slow down. I really do love you, Jojo. I know you think I always come for you, but it's out of love. I give you tough love and I think you need to slow down. I think you need to slow down, not get a new friend right away. Because I think friendship is just something you need to not focus on right now. Because I think also, like, her idea of friendship is also very skewed based on like the friends she's had in her life and who she defends in her life. And I think she's just a little bit like confused on what friendship means too. So I want to help. Healthy friendship is. Look, I don't know either. I'm with you. I'm telling you, as a 36 year old, you is like, maybe we'll have a great relationship one day and get those Freddie, Eddie and Teddies. I'm sure you will. But let's slow it down a little bit. Let's just focus on you and not all these friends. But also, if you want me, something public, make a public girl. Like, I get it. I love it. When you're in love. You want to show it. Like, this person loves me.
Trisha Paytas
I think she is a chronic overshare, though, for sure. There was a study, though, recently, and I saw on the I had It Ladies podcast, ironically. But they're saying how, like, there's a study shown that, like, the couple. Couples who don't post about their significant others as much are more often happier in their relationships than the people who post or, like, over share. I was like, that's kind of tea.
Ben
They know something. Those I've had at ladies. They really. I think so. I do think so. I think sometimes, I don't know. I think when you overshare, it's not even like you're trying to prove something, but it does kind of feel like you have to, like, compete with other people. Like, oh, look, we're also in a loving relationship. So I think it's like, yeah, I think that's kind of something to it. Whereas opposed to when you're just, like, happy, you don't, like, share everything single moment. Oh, I'm pretty happy.
Oscar
Like, broke people that flaunt money, like, flaunting something that's not there.
Ben
I like to flaunt our love.
Oscar
And I think JoJo should call not love line.
Trisha Paytas
And she should.
Ben
She should come guest.
Trisha Paytas
That's a good idea. Or get advice. Maybe ask for advice.
Ben
Come live and ask for advice. I could give JoJo lots of advice.
Trisha Paytas
I feel you usually do. Yeah. Yeah.
Ben
I think the Jojo, there's, like, two directions she got. I feel like I'm her happy ending, Jojo, you know what I mean? I'm like, this is what could be your life, girl. And I think it'll happen. I think it's there. I think she needs guidance. Maybe for me, honestly. Yeah, I would love her. Come on. The pink chair girl. I want to know so many questions, so many things, and you kind of don't hear about her right now, but I guess it's good because you have to go in waves. You can't be oversaturated all the time.
Trisha Paytas
She was just. She did this interview at another red carpet. She's another one that will go to pretty much any red carpet ever. Where was this one? It was some random awards show. Oh, the 11th annual American Reality Television Awards.
Ben
That's wild. What?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, those beauty awards, remember?
Ben
They did, like, all those beauty awards.
Trisha Paytas
Yes. They would just make up an award show, and it was like, Morphe is like, the winner in Jaclyn Hill or something like that.
Ben
Jacqueline Hill, Patrick starring. And it would just be like an empty stage with no set design, and it's like, thank you for this award. What were like, beauty creator awards or something?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. The most random award shows ever.
Ben
All scams, all them. I don't trust any. Unless it's Emmys or the Trishees. Is that a thing?
Trisha Paytas
I was like, what can we do for, like, the end of the year? I was like, maybe the Trishy awards.
Ben
I love it. And we have a lot of work.
Trisha Paytas
I was going to sit here and announce the winners, like, categories.
Ben
We can do that. Jonathan Bailey, Rachel Zegler, Taylor Swift.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, yeah. With he, it is kind of like the usual suspects. We'd have to throw in some, like, you know, surprises in there, too.
Ben
Yeah. Like, who's your favorite person that you hate the most?
Trisha Paytas
Oh, T. You know what I mean?
Ben
Like, of all the people we dog on, who is the winner of, like, we're secret fans. You know what I mean?
Trisha Paytas
Oh, secret fans. I thought it was the one that's, like, most fun to hate.
Ben
I guess we should get the most talked about. Like, we say we don't like you, but we talk about you a lot.
Oscar
Yeah, that'll be Jim's choice. Charles or something.
Ben
Oh, James wins.
Oscar
Look like fishes. Like the fishes or something.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, that's a good idea.
Ben
Isn't that like a Jesus thing, though? I mean, remember those little Jesus fish? Why is Jesus in the fishes? Do you know what I'm talking about?
Trisha Paytas
I do know what you're talking about. It was a symbol.
Oscar
He fed them fish.
Ben
So that's the symbol for what somehow?
Oscar
Or maybe to the act of the.
Ben
Miracle, because, like, Christianity is like a cross. So I always thought, that's interesting. There's Jesus inside of a fish.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. All right.
Ben
That's my award. The fishies are Jesus. The Jesus fish. And give everybody a little fish of Jesus. That's cute. I like that, James. Charles wins. Okay. Guess you have to come on the podcast, James, even though you don't want.
Trisha Paytas
To put out the categories.
Ben
Yeah, that's a tough category. Yeah. You know, seeker fans, another.
Trisha Paytas
But someone we do talk about a lot. And I actually was gagged by this because Mr. Beast. There's a lot going on with Mr. Beast. Listen, I can't really keep up with all that tea, but the one thing I do want to get on Mr. Beast is. He was DMing drama channels to cover, like, this one video about him. Like, he DM like, Spill Sash and all these TikTok accounts to, like, hey, you should cover this video. Yes.
Ben
Did you have a dm?
Trisha Paytas
Yes. Okay.
Ben
Spill Sash. Getting all the rest.
Trisha Paytas
I was like, jimmy, why didn't you? Damn. Just trash. Can you imagine? I would have loved. I am, like, kind of feel like we were snub.
Ben
Like, for sure he knows we talked about him. He knows.
Oscar
Tomorrow. Tomorrow we're going to get a PR package.
Ben
That's right. Jimmy shows up. I'm ready to be interviewed. I could give an interview to Mr. Beast. I need to know. I need a lot of things, though. What did he reveal to them? What did he say?
Trisha Paytas
My God, there was this one. It was like a Soggy. I can't keep up with all of it because it's so. It's so many names and so many channels. I have literally no idea ever existed. And it's like the list of, like, alleged Mr. Beast activities is so long that I literally can't keep up with all of it. But there's this one channel called Soggy Cereal that did a video kind of debunking a lot of the stuff that Dog pack said about Mr. Beast. So who's Dog Pack? The guy that did that video with Rosanna. And they sat together. He just, like. He kind of proved that Dog Pack, like, altered a lot of, like, evidence and, like, made a lot of claims that weren't 100% factual because he has such a vendetta, I guess, allegedly against Jimmy, that, like, he's just making things look bad. Which kind of makes sense because even after that video that he did with Rosanna, he kept. I kept seeing him tweet, like, essays about, like, oh, I just learned this. Oh, I just learned, like, he kept.
Ben
Having the correct Mr. B side on this one.
Trisha Paytas
No, I'm on the truth. I'm on this side of the truth.
Ben
Giving me David Dobrik with me when they were trying to be like, well, Trisha went to a mental hospital. She's great. Like, that's how their defense was, like, in, like, this, like, court thing with, like, their lawyers. Like, well, she's not credible because she has, like, mental illness kind of thing. It's just like, trying to find. Find all the stuff that, like, proves their discredibility to, like, but, like, the stuff they could be saying could be true. But it's like, but he did this and he has a Veneta against me. And he's me. You know what it means? Like, but two things can be true.
Trisha Paytas
But it's not the personal stuff. It's more like he literally is, like, showing evidence that is not true. You know what I mean? Like, he's, like, altering videos and stuff. So that's what. He's getting in trouble, you know, Very clean.
Ben
It's triggering all of this. Oh, my gosh.
Trisha Paytas
Because I think, like, there is enough real stuff against Mr. B. So you don't have to go making stuff up. Because now I feel like we're getting lost in the plot now it's like we're all pointing out the stuff that's not true. But there is enough stuff that is true, you know that it's like.
Ben
Yeah. So it's weird. He just addressed that. That's, like, the one thing Jimmy addressed, but nothing else. What about, like, the. All the other stuff?
Trisha Paytas
He did this one interview the other day, and it was, like, two hours long, and he addressed, like, a lot of stuff, but. And I try to watch it. I really did. It was an interview with Oompa Ville, and it was just Trish coded. 2 hours and 37 minutes. This long. But also, they don't talk as fast as us. And it was just like, Jimmy going on this big rant explaining, like, crypto and all this stuff about his business, like, defending it and stuff. And I just, like, could not get myself to care.
Ben
I was like, nobody wants to know about that. What about Ava Chris Eisen? Like, what's your status with her?
Oscar
From summaries I've seen, he doesn't really explain anything. He doesn't really do much.
Trisha Paytas
He just goes. And. I don't know. He just talks so much.
Oscar
Yeah, but he's not really. He's like, I didn't know. I don't remember. Remember that kind of stuff?
Ben
He's like, the wizard of Oz. There's no real power.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
He's just like, the man behind the curtain. And you're just like, yeah. What do you do, Mr. B's? Like, what, do you bring anything to the table? Can you.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, because even the crypto stuff, he's like, I don't know. I just have. I'm too stupid to do crypto. I have a guy who does it for me. Oh, my God.
Ben
Okay.
Trisha Paytas
He's like, it's. Everyone's spreading misinformation about the moldy cheese. I'm like, okay. He didn't even.
Ben
What is the misinformation?
Trisha Paytas
He said, it leaves our factory. It leaves the lunch. The Lunchley factory. Like, not moldy, so. But people are getting moldy. He's like, if you look at any. If you type anything, any company in the word mold, they'll find something where their food gets moldy. I'm like, okay, Jimmy. I don't know. It's all very much like, it was all. It was kind of a nothing burger to me. I don't know.
Ben
How about, why did Rosanna come in third place but you placed her in seventh place? That's what I wanted out.
Trisha Paytas
I want to see you on Ridiculous. Then maybe we'll take it serious.
Ben
Absolutely. Go on. I would love to see him on Ridiculous. I feel like that's where it's at.
Trisha Paytas
Because it feels like obviously he didn't do it on his own channel. He went to this channel, Pavil, who his company once invested in, and there's like, obviously some kind of relationship there. And then again, these are such serious allegations. And then like he having like that friendliness in between, you know, not like he was hard pressed on anything. It's not like he went to like a real journalist or whatever. So he kind of like skated through, talked a lot. So it was hard for me to really care. I was more guy that he was DMing all these influencers and snubbed us.
Ben
Yeah, we gave you glowing reviews for your chocolate, but we still hate you because I know you didn't make that chocolate in the factory. You're not Willy Wonka. You're not in there with the Oompa Ville podcast. I'm sure they're not in there either. Like, I just feel like everything about Mr. Beast is awful. But honestly, given the choice between David Dobrik or Mr. Beast, I'm gonna pick Mr. Beast. So that's one thing for you, I guess.
Trisha Paytas
I think so. Yeah. He did say he was. He alluded that he was gonna end up suing Dog Pack, so that does make me a little nervous because I think there is back and forth. Like, is he just saying that to like, kind of threaten him or. But I could he. I think technically he does have a case because there is like doctored evidence and stuff.
Ben
But did he lose money?
Trisha Paytas
Because he said he. He specifically said he lost on his charity, whatever. Like his charity stuff. He lost like two or three sponsorships. Like, he lost like $1 million basically. So he had a self fund.
Ben
Oh, my God, whatever. Someone who makes hundreds of millions of dollars. I lost a million. And you're going to sue this creator? Which, I mean, I guess. I guess if you're trying to make an example. But, like, you suck.
Trisha Paytas
Like, but Dog Pack doesn't have that much. Like, I don't think he's loaded.
Ben
You know, saying to, like, kind of like, just like, you have all this money, you're suing someone. It's like, okay, you kind of suck on that. And yes. Okay, you proved it. You proved that he was a liar. Great. Now everyone can see that. Do you have to sue him? Like, and, like, take everything from him? Like, that's crazy.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. And then because you'll never get that money because he, if he doesn't have it, he can't give it back to you.
Ben
So it's really just to make him pay everything out of, like, legal fees, to really, like, torture him financially.
Trisha Paytas
The only thing I can think of is this. I don't know if this applies still for, like, I'm thinking must for like, YouTube world, but for, like, journalism world. Like, if you have a show and you have someone on that makes all these claims and all the evidence and stuff, the show could also be named. Named in this suit or, like, be liable, you know what I mean? Can be folded into the lawsuit. And so then I was like, oh, because he went on Rosanna's channel and then made all these big claims. Like, that's where he made the claims about the photo of Yvonne Ivanka Trump being underage when she wasn't. And the Telegram account that was. They said was for work, but it wasn't. So that's the only thing I'm thinking of is all that.
Ben
Fact check.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Or allegedly or something like that.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, I mean, they did say allegedly, but allegedly also doesn't save you from everything because those are such big, like, claims. So he does have damages from that stuff. I'm worried about Rosanna, but again, I don't know because then you have to go. So much would come out in discovery that, like, does Jimmy really want all this other stuff to come out and.
Ben
Be like, oh, for sure that everything gets drafted?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Like, every financial thing, contract, everything about these employees. Did they really take keep tampons from their contestants? You know, like, he's right now on.
Oscar
Twitter promoting the show. Oh, my God.
Ben
Hey, Mr. Beast.
Oscar
Yeah.
Ben
What did it say?
Oscar
Here's a little teaser for Beast Games. I spent over a year creating this 10 episode competition series, breaking 40 world records, building crazy assets in the entertainment business. Featuring a thousand players and $5 million grand prize. I poured everything I have into this show. I'll see you December 19th.
Ben
No, thank you.
Oscar
On Prime. And it's Amazon at The end.
Ben
That's crazy. Amazon still like stands by him through all these links.
Oscar
This go to TV and talk about it. Not to like a little YouTube channel you own.
Ben
Yeah, that is the weird choice. Is that podcast going on. That one? That's so random. Yeah, go on Joe Rogan or something where they care, you know? Then you could probably get like some case. But Oomaville. Is that what it's called? Yes. That's wild. Like, why. Who's been on it? What's another guest that's been on it? That is weird. Okay, well, if you want a real interview, come to just. Trish.
Trisha Paytas
Would you really press them or would you fold?
Ben
I don't even know. I kind of get lost in the lore. I don't.
Trisha Paytas
I know there's so much like, what.
Ben
Did he get canceled for originally in.
Trisha Paytas
Your ear or something. Because there's so much I definitely want.
Ben
To ask about Rosanna. I press him about that.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Everything else. I'm kind of confused by.
Trisha Paytas
Me too.
Ben
I'm like, what happened when the crypto.
Trisha Paytas
I don't know.
Ben
That I don't know.
Trisha Paytas
I don't know.
Ben
The Amazon Prime. I really want to know about the women's issue. That's true.
Trisha Paytas
The show stuff is big.
Ben
Yeah. That I need to know. So that I would ask about. Why did you take away these nuts? They were all gone from Target.
Trisha Paytas
Discontinued.
Ben
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. The hard hitting stuff.
Ben
Yeah. I think I'd have a good one with him. But he is giving like Elon Musk vibes.
Trisha Paytas
Really is giving Elon vibes. And I hear the way he talks about like the lunch factor. We have one of the greatest factories in the world. We would never have mold. I'm like, okay, relax. Like, I'm sure. Like, what?
Ben
No, also like, cheese does just get moldy. Just acknowledge. I was like, it's cheese. It gets moldy sometimes.
Oscar
Milk came out of the cow. It wasn't moldy. Like, well, it's what it's still about what you did with it after and how you ship it and how you store it.
Ben
Weird.
Trisha Paytas
And you still partner with the dubious Logan Paul.
Ben
That's why I want to know, like, why? Why? I get it like prime. But what?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, I. I don't know. It's all. I don't know if he'll. I mean, his audience. Does audience care? His views have gone down a time a fraction. Yeah. But little kids that watch him haven't heard about any of this and they don't care.
Ben
Yeah. Yeah. I guess it's just a bunch of People talking and he doesn't care. Yeah, he's promoting Amazon and Amazon still stands by him. They're like, whatever. This is still. Which is crazy. That's what just shows show. When you're like this, like. Like a white man, like, you just get like uncancel. You can do literally anything. He's gone through so many cancellations and Amazon prime is. What is Amazon Prime?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
Is it Amazon Prime? How funny. He partners with prime and Amazon Prime. Prime the drink. And why do they have the same name? That was so stupid.
Trisha Paytas
I don't know. I still don't get it. And there's also like a Prime truck that like delivers stuff, but I guess that's not related to.
Ben
Not really to Amazon Prime.
Trisha Paytas
Last time I talked about it, the other comments were like, that's a different Prime. That's not the drink or Amazon Prime.
Ben
That's confusing.
Trisha Paytas
I know too many primes.
Oscar
There's Optimus Prime.
Trisha Paytas
Too many.
Ben
Oh, yeah.
Trisha Paytas
Too many prime.
Ben
Prime numbers. Name a prime number.
Trisha Paytas
1.
Ben
Is it. What's the opposite of a prime number?
Trisha Paytas
Good question.
Oscar
You know you can divide them.
Ben
The easiest even number is. What are those called? There's even an odd. What's prime and what.
Oscar
Prime. You can't divide.
Trisha Paytas
Composite.
Ben
Composite.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
I've never heard it called a composite number.
Trisha Paytas
I forgot about prime numbers.
Ben
Like 1, 3, 7.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, that. I'm gagged that that came out of your mouth.
Ben
That's what I always think of is like prime numbers.
Trisha Paytas
I literally can't tell you the last time I thought about the prime number.
Ben
That's a new one, though. Like a secret genius. This whole time, actually, I know everything about Honestly tea pie. So 3.1478276552, five nine.
Oscar
Where are they?
Ben
Oh, yeah. What happened? Is it. Are you checking my phone?
Oscar
No, but I added them to the gate in case they show up. Do you want to.
Ben
Did I get canceled? Did I even place the order? Sometimes I forget to place the order. No, I. All right, you guys. I know this was a jam packed hot topic, but the hot topics are about to get even hotter because we have wicked popcorn buckets on there right. Right now. In fact, I see him. Oh, my gosh. Who is that? Wow, he looks so cool. Oh, my gosh. Is that him? Oh, my gosh. Finally, after emails and emails exchange, here he is, live in the flesh. Ben with wicked popcorn buckets. Oh, my God. Nice to meet you. This is crazy.
Guest
Oh, my God.
Ben
How are you? By the way, your emails are the best written emails I've ever seen in my entire life. You're amazing. You look great. You look great.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God.
Ben
You're so sweet. Oh, my God. And you look amazing. You look at pop star.
Trisha Paytas
You literally look like one of the guide rats dolls.
Ben
Yeah. This is a vibe. You are a vibe.
Guest
I could inspo from you guys. You guys always go all.
Ben
I don't know about that. That's fashion right there.
Guest
You guys wear 100 in everything you do, and that inspires you. I need a picture.
Ben
And you look amazing. Oh, my God. This is so cool. All right, you guys, this is so exciting. We've already been chatting. I'm so excited. I wanted to do, like, a big reveal because I'm so excited. We should have the meeting on camera because, well, we have. Do we? Yeah. Do you go by Ben or Benjamin or Ben? I was really shaky when I was meeting you. You look so cool. No. Anyways, let's introduce our guest. All right, Here he is, the man who writes the best emails in the whole world, collected every single wicked piece to give to us, which is so nice. The one and only Ben. Do I say your last name, or should I not say your last name? I don't. Ben Verde.
Trisha Paytas
Thank you.
Ben
Am I saying it right? Ben Verde. I love. You look great. You came in. You literally look like a bratz doll.
Trisha Paytas
He literally looks like. Yeah, one of the boy bratz dolls. This is everything. I wish.
Ben
Same same. You look so cool. Like you're giving Y2K, but current. You're giving boy band. You're giving just everything. Also fashion. I'm sure this is some brand, some fashion designer that I don't know, but I love it.
Guest
Thank you so much.
Ben
Where is this from, actually?
Trisha Paytas
What is this fashion?
Guest
My brother has a fashion company called dear God. So everything I wear, it's like alternative or I try to get, like, handmade pieces. Oh. I just like wearing things that no one else has.
Ben
Oh, my God. Okay, cool.
Trisha Paytas
I know. Damn. The coolest person forever 21.
Ben
Yeah, same always. This was an upgrade. This is great. I love it. Oh, my gosh. So you're from Orange County. You live with your family? Family or.
Guest
Yeah, I'm born and raised from Orange County.
Ben
Wow, that's amazing. I love. I love the area. We're talking about Costa Mesa capital girl. We're just talking about the food. Chimney cakes, everything.
Guest
Disneyland, Knott's berry farm, Laguna Beach. I just have to get all the food from there, like appetizers, desserts, entrees, and just bring it to you one day.
Ben
I Would love for that. And you're as cool as you are because Ben's an actor. Ben's resume is, like, so expensive. Usually four resumes. Like, your professional resume, your acting resume. And I was just like, you are so. You're just so detailed and so extensive. Everything you do is so cool. So the fact that you're like, I would love to bring you food. I was like, you're overqualified. That's what I said the first episode. I mean, you're overqualified, But I appreciate you, and I love it. And I loved your sunglasses when you came in. Everything about you was just cool. The vibe was immaculate.
Guest
Thank you so much. I was like. I just said, like, you guys do everything to 100. Like, if you're gonna be emo, you go full out. If you're gonna be Glinda, you go full out. So it's like, all or nothing. Cause you only live once, you know?
Ben
I love that.
Trisha Paytas
That's what we give to people.
Ben
Yeah. All or nothing. I like it. We're talking about what we're thankful for. Thanksgiving. And most of that, I'm thankful for, you know, organizing your outfits and photo shoots. So thank you. I'm really great at that too. Okay, let's. Where do we even start? So you went to every single movie theater. How did you know which one was where? Or you just were like, I'm just gonna go to all of them.
Guest
Oh, my gosh. So you said on the podcast last Tuesday how you wanted all the buckets, but they're always sold out the first day, which is so sad. So the next day, I knew that the Wicked pre screening was on Wednesday. So I woke up, went to AMC Regal and Sinmark. Like, first one there before they even opened. And I just grabbed one of everything. Even Regal, they had, like, 10 things. And this had, like, a whole bunch of things in my arms. And he was like, oh, yeah. So we can usually tell if it's, like, a dad buying it for their daughter or if it's like.
Ben
If it's like, a reseller.
Guest
Yeah, like a resell. Like, someone's buying six of them, and they're gonna resell it online for 100 a piece. I'm like, why have I not done that before? I had so many odd jobs where, like, I just did, like, even, like, risky jobs for this extra money, like, side hustles. And, like, how have I not sold buckets for a hundred dollars that cost, like, 20 bucks, honestly.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, you bought those dune buckets for, like, 80 bucks, didn't you.
Ben
I did. I bought, like, six of them, too. I had so many of them. That is a good A. You were so sweet, too. You're like, I bought all these for you, but if you don't want them, I can just resell them. You were, like, super sweet. And the thing.
Guest
Oh, I was, like, so delusional. I was like, okay, maybe she's gonna see this and respond, even though you hadn't responded. And then luckily you did, so thank you.
Ben
Did I not respond the first time.
Guest
You talked about me on the podcast the very next day, and I was like, oh, my gosh.
Ben
Oh, my God. See, I'm like, the worst at emails. That's so crazy. Cause I get. I literally probably get, like, 100 emails a week, and I do try to read most of them, and they're all sweet, they're all nice, but yours was just so detailed with, like, phone numbers and references and just also, I was like, I love this person so much, but this is remarkable. So you went to all the places and just said, I'll take one of everything?
Trisha Paytas
Yes.
Ben
Did they have them when you went?
Trisha Paytas
No.
Ben
Sold out. See, they're sold out.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. They only had. They had the Glinda cup at the AMC I went to on Thursday, but the buckets were already gone.
Ben
I wanted to get into these buckets. Oh, my gosh. Okay. So I didn't even know they had pillows. So this is part of the. We have two bags of stuff.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my gosh. Okay.
Guest
Oh, my gosh.
Ben
Wow. Okay. Yeah, this just becomes a. Oh, my God. The cups in there. Okay, so this was at a movie theater.
Guest
Yeah, that was at Regal AMC Emerald City Plush.
Ben
Oh, my.
Trisha Paytas
Wow.
Ben
I love that they have these at a movie theater.
Guest
Yeah.
Ben
There's so much. We gotta get through this. Oh, my gosh. Okay. The Elphaba Cup.
Trisha Paytas
Which one is that?
Guest
Many tumblers. I think that one's from Regal.
Ben
Probably not Regal. They did send me an email, too, after the podcast. Like, oh, we'd love to send you stuff. So I'm probably gonna get, like, double Regal.
Guest
Oh, my gosh.
Ben
I'll take it. I'll take all of it. Oh, is this the Glint? Oh, my God.
Trisha Paytas
Wow, that's so pretty on the top.
Ben
God, this is gorge. And you don't want to keep any of this?
Guest
No.
Ben
Are you sure? Yeah, you can maybe. I did say in the email, I was like, whatever you want to part with, I'll buy. And you're like, you can have all of it.
Guest
Are you sure you have, like, such a Display. Like, when you walk in, you have so many things.
Ben
Like, you're low key. Cause you said you love Wicked and you wanna see again. We'll keep you. Keep some for sure. Oh, my God. This is. Okay, this is cute.
Guest
That's actually cute.
Ben
A little Glinda. Oh, it's her trunks. I was like, what is this?
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God, that's cute. Oh, my God.
Ben
Wait, I love that you have this cup too. Is this, like a reusable one?
Trisha Paytas
Oh, this is Sprite cup.
Ben
Wait, what is this? Why do you see it like that?
Trisha Paytas
Cause there's a special Sprite drink at the. I think I saw amc. I don't know if it's the other theaters too, but there's special Elphaba and Glinda, like, mixes that they have.
Ben
Did you try it?
Guest
That's from Sun Market. No, I haven't.
Ben
No.
Guest
It looks cool. Green and Sprite. Good branding.
Ben
Yeah, The Elphaba sprite would be amazing. You didn't take any of this with you to the movie when you went to go see it?
Guest
No, I just went in, like, solid.
Ben
You're like, I don't need all that. This is. Oh, my God. This is pretty.
Guest
That one's everything. That looks like Disneyland.
Ben
Oh, my God. Yeah, this one's so, so cool. Oh, my God. I love this one too. Wait, there's so many cups in here. Oh, my gosh. Okay. Ooh. This is like pink and. Wow.
Trisha Paytas
This is like the broom and the wine.
Ben
Yeah. Oh, my gosh. I'm sorry. To the audio listeners.
Trisha Paytas
I always think of that too.
Ben
Okay, let me describe something. It's like green texture. It's like. What would this be? Like, bark, maybe?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah, it's like the material. It's like the broom texture, the black broom, and then it has a green broom on it.
Ben
What?
Oscar
Top, Top.
Trisha Paytas
A little hole.
Guest
I think Elphaba goes on top. She probably fell down.
Trisha Paytas
That's so cute.
Ben
We have to take these. We're gonna be doing our movie Mukbang this weekend. What is this?
Guest
Oh, Glow in the dark popcorn bucket.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, Whoa.
Ben
Where?
Trisha Paytas
The bottom.
Guest
At the bottom.
Trisha Paytas
Whoa. Whoa.
Guest
Yeah.
Trisha Paytas
Oh.
Guest
I was at home, like, what's lighting up? And it was, like, all dark, and it was a bucket.
Ben
God is by itself?
Guest
Yeah.
Ben
Oh, my gosh. Magic. Are you a wicked fan?
Guest
Oh, my God. I love musical theater.
Trisha Paytas
For our audio listeners, Trisha just dropped the Emerald City. Light up.
Ben
Bucket break everything.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God.
Ben
Oh, my gosh. This is. I'm so. I'm like, awful. You love musical theater?
Guest
Yeah.
Ben
Do you go to the Secret Storm a lot? That I was. I did.
Guest
The last show I saw was Hamilton.
Ben
Oh, okay. We just saw Beetlejuice down there perform at the theater, but it's a 3, 000 capacity. I don't know if I can, like, sell that out, but I would love to.
Guest
Oh, you can. I'm going to your Thousand Oaks show. I'm so excited.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my gosh.
Ben
Wait, I thought you were coming to San Diego, but Thousand Oaks.
Guest
I am gonna get tickets for San Diego and then Thousand Oaks at the beginning and then the end of the run.
Ben
Oh, my God. They're available, so I can get you tickets. That's so cool. I know. You said that in your video, and I was like, oh, my God, that's so cool. I like, that's so funny. I just would never think someone cool like you would watch me some.
Guest
Oh, my God. You literally raised all of Gen Z, all your iconic moments. I remember, like, even when you went on. They went on sale that Wednesday morning at 10:00am it was so, like, last minute, and I was on the way to work, and I had never, like, pulled over off the freeway as fast as I can. Like, right at, like, 10. I was there, and I was in the battle trying to get tickets, and then I got, like, vip, like, front row, like, right away, and then they sold out that day.
Ben
Oh, my God. Thank you. That's so nice. That was crazy when you said that. I was like, okay, wait, this person actually, like, I appreciate you so much. That's so nice. Oh, my God. Wait, how old are you?
Guest
Me?
Ben
Yeah.
Guest
I just turned 23.
Ben
Oh, my God. You're so young. That's crazy to be 23. Oh, my God. I love being cool with the young kids. That's so fun. Oh, my gosh. What do you. What do you aspire to? You're an actor. Mm. Okay, so that's. And then now, are you acting or what do you do for.
Guest
Yeah, so been in a lot of commercials or short films or, like, features, and I've.
Trisha Paytas
This.
Guest
This year alone, I've got better reps, agents, and managers, so I've been auditioning for a lot of network televisions or really cool TV shows or movies. I just haven't booked anything yet because it's more competitive. But it's just really cool to get to read for them or to get called back, you know?
Ben
That's amazing. I've never been called to read for anything. How do you get those auditions? I was like, how do you do that?
Guest
Oh, my gosh. It's so hard because literally, my agents, those only send me out to SAG commercials or smaller indie projects. But I feel like myself, I'm, like, personally emailing all the casting directors or finding their assistants or mailing the casting office a postcard of my headshots. And then the minute I do that, like, a month later, the same casting director will call me in to read for, like, Wednesday or, like, Euphoria or something like that. So it's like, oh, it actually works. So self marketing and, like, pushing yourself always works, even with you. Like, I emailed you three times and now I'm here, so.
Trisha Paytas
No.
Ben
And yours are so good. Like, they're so captivating. I don't know what it is. I don't know what your secret is, but it is the first. I was like, oh, my God, this is so impressive. And then when I got this, I was just like, oh, my God, we have to invite him on. Like, this is the craziest thing I've ever seen. So that's so smart. I used to do that too, when I was a kid, but no one ever responded to me. I used to write, like, Quentin Tarantino and send him my script and all this like that. And, like, no one ever responded. So sounds like you're getting, like, responses. You just have a very cool look, too. Like, you sent a video with this one. Like, you just look. You have a cool look. You're very professional. Like, you write down all these. Like, you just. You have the winning combination presentation all. It just sounds professional. I was just like, okay, this is like, not some, like, weirdo. It's okay if you're a weirdo, but obviously to come to my house, I was just like, oh, you know what? He's fine. He has references. I think if you put phone numbers down, you look legit. You know what I mean? But you look so cool. All right, let's get to these buckets. I'm so excited. I'm just drowning in wicked merch over here. Thank you. By the way, this is the coolest thing ever in the whole world.
Guest
I love the whole display.
Ben
Oh, what is this?
Trisha Paytas
This is cute.
Guest
Oh, it's a little wicked gift bag. It's like Malibu Barbie size.
Trisha Paytas
So cute.
Ben
That's actually so cute. This was in a theater. That's so fun. Shout out, Rico. All right, let's see. And then these are, like, little straw.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, wow. It's a wand.
Ben
Oh, my God. This is so cool. This is so funny. They sell these at the movies.
Guest
Yeah, okay. I love a wizards Of Waverly Place era.
Ben
Yeah. Okay.
Trisha Paytas
Okay.
Ben
Gen Z. I was like, wait, I was thinking more like Harry Potter, but I love that too.
Trisha Paytas
That one's cute. These are nice.
Ben
They're like hand painted. Oh, it's fun.
Trisha Paytas
That's really cute.
Ben
I love that this was part of the merch. All right. Oh, and there's pins. My gosh. Do you really think you found every single piece? Do you think there was anything you missed?
Trisha Paytas
This must be right, right?
Ben
That's what I think.
Guest
I made sure to grab every single one there was.
Ben
Wow. And how long did this take you?
Guest
Luckily, in oc, like, it's not as populated as la, so it's more like suburb vibe. So it was pretty fast. Like an hour or two.
Ben
Oh, my gosh.
Guest
I feel like in la, everything sells out faster because it's LA too.
Ben
And like going around all the ones trying to find. Hey, you're so exhausted by the time you're like, okay. Cuz the Barbie ones, we only found one. We could. And we went to Oxnard, went to Ventura, went everywhere and we couldn't find it. These are cute too. These little buttons. Okay. These buckets. We got this little card. Oh my gosh. Should I wait to open it or should I open it now?
Guest
You can. I wrote you and Oster a letter.
Ben
Oh, it was so sweet. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my God. Okay. Okay. Oh, my gosh. This is so exciting. Oh.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, thanks BET Man. That's so sweet already.
Ben
I'm just like, wait, this is.
Guest
It's a little keychain. It's My Chemical Romance.
Ben
Oh, my God. We were just talking about them too.
Trisha Paytas
This is so cute.
Ben
We talked about the top of the show.
Trisha Paytas
So cute. Little Paramore cd. That's so cute.
Ben
This is adorable. Oh, my God. They're like little tiny CDs. Can you play these? I don't understand. Do you see it? You can open it.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Guest
It's just a keychain, but yeah.
Ben
Oh, my God.
Trisha Paytas
Oh my God. That's so cute.
Ben
This is adorable. Oh, my God. Thank you. Oh my God. This is literally so nice. This is so sweet. Wow.
Guest
Love your sad boy era.
Ben
Thank you.
Trisha Paytas
Oscar.
Guest
Did you ever have an emo fizz? I never.
Trisha Paytas
A light emo phase.
Guest
Who were the bins? Was it My Chemical?
Trisha Paytas
Honestly, T. Paramore. I did love Paramore. Yeah. Who else? I like Avril. Love Davril. Yeah. And I get into my Olivia. Rodrigo is kind of in the same vibe. I think so. Yeah. I think. And Billy gets a little. A little moody sometimes too. Wait Wait, I just noticed.
Ben
Wait, what's on yours?
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God. 1992 legends. It's me, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Bridget Mendler, and Demi Lovato.
Guest
All the Disney icons were born.
Trisha Paytas
92 was a good year.
Ben
You're the center of all of them.
Guest
You were born at the right time. Best year ever.
Ben
Oh, my God. This is gonna make me cry. This is, like, literally the sweetest nose ever.
Trisha Paytas
Ben, you are the sweetest person in the whole entire world.
Ben
Oh, gosh. She's so nice.
Trisha Paytas
I know. We're both really sensitive today, too.
Ben
Usually just one of us.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God, You're Peruvian, too.
Ben
Oh, my gosh. Wait, you're Peruvian. Oh, my gosh. Yeah.
Guest
I was thinking you have to ever make a movie about your life or Oscar's life? I want to play Oscar.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God. Yes. You have to.
Ben
With the glasses.
Guest
I would love to be like or something like that.
Ben
So iconic. That needs to happen for sure. Oh, my gosh. Are you 100% Peruvian? Wow.
Guest
My parents, like, crossed the border and everything.
Trisha Paytas
My dad, too. Yeah.
Ben
Oh, my God, they speak Spanish.
Guest
Yeah. I grew up speaking Spanish at home, and I learned English at school.
Trisha Paytas
Wow.
Ben
Oh, my God. That's so cool. Oh, you did tell me you were bilingual, I think, in your. One of your emails. Oh, my God. This is so.
Trisha Paytas
Ben, you are the sweetest in the whole entire world. Thank you so much.
Guest
Thank you for being my company for a show. I was just thinking about, like, everyone who went to the Sabrina Carpenter concert. They had a Spotify pit section for all the top 1% listeners. Got to see her early, and I was like, if YouTube did that for Trisha, I'd be the top 1%.
Ben
You are the top 1%. You're here. You're like. I know. Sad boy. I think you're the only one who liked that. So thank you so much. This was the nicest. This is nicest.
Trisha Paytas
I know you're really good with words.
Ben
Yeah. I'm, like, so shook right now. That was, like, literally the nicest letter. Thank you. I will, like, cherish this letter.
Trisha Paytas
That's how it's so sweet.
Ben
You are so good with words. Like, you could be. Are you. Do you have writing, like, aspirations?
Guest
I love writing. I've written, like, scripts for, like, TV shows and stuff. But, like, I never posted anything. I know. If you've written eight books.
Ben
Well, I wish you were my ghostwriter. Yeah. The way you write is like. I mean, that's beautiful. Like, everything you just wrote was so good. You're amazing. I can't believe you're 23. You're like, yeah, I've written a few scripts. I was like, what? Like, that's crazy. No, you're insane. Insanely talented and insanely smart, and I'm in awe.
Guest
Oh, my God, this is so cute.
Ben
I can't wait to have these wicked buckets. Oh, my God. These are. Oh, my God, These are so cool.
Guest
The pink and the green. That's everything.
Ben
That is. That's what's neat. This is what? This is. Oh, amc. I like how you have the little receipts in there too, so I can see. This is the one. That bucket.
Guest
Oh, my gosh.
Ben
Ooh, I love it. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Elphaba. And then this is another Elphaba. Wow.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God, there's so many.
Ben
That's so cute. I know.
Trisha Paytas
We just have so many buckets.
Ben
It'll be here for months to come as our set design.
Trisha Paytas
Is that a cup?
Guest
It's like the Sprite Drink Win in that, I think.
Trisha Paytas
Whoa.
Ben
That is so cool to drink it. Oh, my God. And then these hats. Oh, my God, there's so many. Okay, these are my favorite here. Let's see. Oh, my gosh.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God.
Ben
I'm breaking everything. Sorry, everybody. Okay, it's fine. I'm gonna keep spilling things. This is so cool. Where is this one from?
Guest
That one's cute. That's from Regal.
Ben
You can get so much popcorn. And I like that there's a lid on there so you can take it to go.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, no audio listening. It's just a chop. The popcorn.
Ben
Oh, my gosh. That's fine. They're terrible. It's okay. And then the little green Alpha. Oh, my God. This was. This was amazing. This was so amazing. Oh, my God. Thank you so much.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Guest
You can have a whole collection. I know. You have, like, a. A whole collection of bedazzled Starbucks cups, right?
Ben
Yes. So we'll put this next to it. We have, like, a glass case. We do have a little section for all the wickets stuff because I've been collecting so much stuff. Thank you so much. Because they don't have them at any of our. I looked and they don't have them at any of our movie theaters. So I really appreciate it. Thank you so much. This was so nice.
Guest
Oh, yeah.
Ben
And what is this? This is another surprise. Yeah.
Guest
I saw on Tick Tock they had the viral wicked pink and green donuts.
Trisha Paytas
Wait, what? I haven't seen this either.
Ben
Let's show the camera. Oh, my God. This is so. Oh, Wait, I don't want to drop. You know me. I'm gonna drop them for. For sure. Look at Ben being sturdy too. He's nice and steady with it. Wow.
Trisha Paytas
Oh my God. You're the sweetest, Ben. Oh my God.
Ben
What? They're so heavy.
Guest
Yeah.
Ben
Did you try one already?
Guest
I did not.
Ben
Oh my God. We should try one. Yeah. What's in them? It's so heavy.
Guest
I'm not sure but.
Ben
Cuz they're like so. Here, I'll try a pink one.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Guest
It looks like they're jelly filled.
Ben
Oh my God. I have the most jelly. I want to hold it for you.
Guest
I'll try a green one.
Ben
Yeah. Oh my God.
Guest
So it was jelly.
Ben
Oh my God.
Guest
Oh my gosh.
Ben
There's so much jelly. I know. It's so much jelly. Here. Sorry.
Guest
They're really yummy, but super messy to be honest.
Ben
They're good though.
Trisha Paytas
Those are good.
Guest
They look cute. How did you like it?
Trisha Paytas
It was good. It tastes like a toaster strudel kind of, but like elevated.
Guest
Yum.
Trisha Paytas
Oh my gosh.
Ben
I love voodoo donuts. Did you get them at CityWalk?
Guest
Yes.
Ben
Oh my God.
Trisha Paytas
Wow. You really made all the rounds, man.
Ben
I know. It's so impressive. It really is. Like, I. And because you have so much other stuff you're doing, like you're auditioning for like Euphoria and you're like, I'll also go pick up donuts for you. Like, it's so impressive. Like it's just your ambitions. Insane. I know you're gonna be like, I just know you'll be a big star. I was like, okay, you have to come up. Cuz you're like, I'll just drop it off. I'm like, no, you need to come on the podcast. Because I have a feeling I was so right.
Guest
I felt like I was gonna like throw up when you said that.
Ben
Really?
Guest
I was like shaking and like it was so hard to sleep, but it was just like anxiety that came out of like excitement and like love for you guys.
Ben
I'm so glad. I felt the same way. I. I couldn't have been more excited. And I know I was so excited for this today because the popcorn buckets and you and everything. And I'm just like so excited to see everything that you're gonna do. Is there anything, like, exciting that you can talk about now that you're doing or coming up or auditioning for or looking forward to? Chimney cakes, Christmas, Disneyland?
Guest
I would say I am looking forward to seeing Christmas live December 5th and December 15th?
Ben
Yeah. Specifically, December 5th. San Diego. There's tickets available.
Trisha Paytas
Ben will be there if you want to meet. Ben.
Ben
That would be wild. Yeah. Come say hi to Ben. I'll be like, what is down there? San Diego. We could be like, not SeaWorld. Not. I know.
Trisha Paytas
Damn.
Ben
That's so funny. Do we go to SeaWorld? I don't think we can. Yeah. What's a San Diego?
Trisha Paytas
Like, wild animal park.
Ben
Legoland. Oh, Wild animal park. Are those okay to go to?
Trisha Paytas
Those are okay.
Ben
Are you sure?
Trisha Paytas
I'm pretty sure.
Guest
There's a safari park, which is, like, different than the zoo, I think. Right.
Trisha Paytas
It's open there.
Ben
Oh, so it's more free.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. There's no cages.
Ben
People are gonna comment and be like, no, not that either. What about food in San Diego? What's the food options? Anything they're known for?
Trisha Paytas
I don't know if there's anything. I call it.
Guest
Oh, in San Diego, there's a really cute mini pig farm you should go to.
Ben
Really?
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Guest
And there's, like, little baby pigs, and they sleep together with, like, the sheep and everything. It's adorable.
Ben
And you can go catch them or what?
Guest
No, it's just, like, a little pen and you can go see them, and they're, like, miniature, and they stay small forever.
Ben
Oh, that's cute.
Guest
A lot of people will go and, like, take and Instagram pics there, I guess.
Ben
Let's do it. Bring Malibu with a little pig. She does love a petting zoo. How do you know so much about everything at 23? Like, why? Where do you get it from? Like, what is it?
Guest
Being a chronically online gay on TikTok, I guess.
Ben
Oh, you are. Are you on TikTok?
Guest
Oh, well, I'm, like, always scrolling. I don't post sometimes, but then I'll, like, get insecure, so I'll delete it. And then I need to be a.
Trisha Paytas
Little, like, style boy on TikTok and, like, literally just look cute in outfits. That's all you have to do because your outfit is so good. And I think that you would be, like, you would easily be a good influencer.
Ben
Oh, for sure.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah. You influenced me. Yeah. We want your brother to make us outfits.
Ben
Oh, my gosh.
Guest
Really?
Ben
Younger?
Guest
He's older than me. He lives in New York now, but he's always making, like, outfits. I think in the video I sent you, my whole wall is just full of jackets that he's made.
Ben
Oh, my God, that was so cool. Where were you in that video? You're, like, in the room. I love it. And you did it unlisted, too. So I was like, oh, he's not even looking for cloud. Here's an unlisted video to prove everything. It was so cool. And you were so. Your personality came through with that. Cause your email was impressive. But then seeing you on video, that's what you should do when you reach out to casting. Do you, like, send a video, too and be like, this is me.
Guest
No, I should do that. Usually I'll do, like, a handwritten letter, and I'll have my headshots on the back of it, and I'll, like, mail it. Cause, you know, they say, like, handwriting sticks with memory more sometimes.
Trisha Paytas
Wow.
Guest
Or the color blue or red. So I'll try to do that, I guess.
Ben
You are so smart. So you're just, like, online researching all these, like, tips and stuff, like, and how to do it?
Guest
I guess so. I watched a lot of YouTube videos.
Ben
Wow. Oh, my God. You, like, are literally the smartest person I've ever met in the whole world. Like, you're so smart, and you're so ambitious, and I wish I could be you. And I wish you lived closer, because we would love to have you on and be just more than a food runner. A little actor. Maybe if we do, like, an acting series. Tavern series.
Trisha Paytas
Oh, my God. Yeah. You would be perfect in the Tavern.
Ben
As soon as I get a Netflix show. We talked about the holiday. Hot, Frosty. You know, you could do something like that.
Trisha Paytas
Yeah.
Ben
You could be my son in, like, a movie. If me and Oscar had a baby, it could be you.
Trisha Paytas
Honestly, it's a movie.
Ben
That's a good movie. Is like, you want a baby, and then I want a baby, and then we adopt Ben. Right. And it's like, okay, that'd be cool. Or he's just our baby, and he was born 23. 23. And we love it. Everything is. Oh, yeah. Oh, my God. I'm so excited. Oh, my. I'm so excited for you. Anything you want to promote your TikTok or anything or you're just.
Guest
If you want to follow me. It's just Ben Verde.
Ben
You're more than. Oh, just Ben Verde. It's like, just Ben. Just Trish. And you're gonna go see Wicked again?
Guest
Totally. How many times do you guys want to see it?
Trisha Paytas
At least two more times.
Ben
At least.
Guest
Have you seen any other movie this year? Twice.
Trisha Paytas
Honestly, no.
Ben
Challengers. Three times.
Guest
That one was a good one to see.
Ben
Love that one. Did you see the Challengers Look Like Contest? We just talked about that in Hot Topics.
Guest
No. Oh, my God.
Ben
They flopped. They kind of flopped. But there's a Hasan one coming up in Chicago, December 8th. In between my shows. You can stop there.
Guest
Gotta be a Trisha. One Oscar.
Ben
That would be everything. I would love Only drag queens to compete for my. That would be so fun. But that would be everything. People would probably look better than me, and I'd get, like, a jealous and insecure. I'd probably like. No, not that, but I like it. Maybe organize it. I want to organize gays eating garlic bread in a park around here, too. So maybe we can work on that together. Because you're very organized.
Guest
I'd be so down.
Ben
Do you know how to get permits?
Trisha Paytas
Parks and Rec center of la.
Ben
Really? Just be like, how do we get this? Okay. I love that you would know to do that. You're like, parks and Rec Center. Got it. Is it the TV show? That's what I thought of when he first said that. What's your dream role? Ideal role.
Trisha Paytas
Mm.
Guest
I would say, okay, as a kid, I love sitcom. Like, I just love watching Disney Channel. Like, I would see that's the Raven is like, I want to be on that show.
Ben
That's your vibe, for sure. Like a Disney Channel vibe.
Guest
And I guess now, as I'm older, I would say it would something darker or, like, on heavier topics. Because I feel like when you see shows like that, like, Euphoria or Shameless or stuff like that, it's like, really, like, the raw, vulnerable side. And everyone in the media or social media tries to portray something perfect. And people are always comparing themselves to this idea. Perfect. Which isn't real.
Ben
Yeah.
Guest
So then I feel like that just helps people feel like they can relate to it.
Ben
Yeah.
Guest
Feel seen.
Ben
Yeah. Be like, okay. I'm not the only one that also goes through this. Your letter was very sweet. You talked a lot about mental health and stuff. And that's why I thought, like, when people say that kind of stuff, like you said in acting or just, you know, being on YouTube or whatever, it's cool. Because you think, I always think I'm alone with. You know, we talked about borderline and stuff in there. And it's like, you think you're alone, and then when you broadcast something that could be really vulnerable, there's so many more people that, like, actually encourage, like, you to keep talking about it. Because so many other people are going through it, too.
Guest
Exactly. No, like, literally, like, I had a lot of borderline traits. And you were talking about dbt.
Ben
Yeah.
Guest
And I went to go find a psychologist. Cause I've been in and out of therapy the last 14 years. And that time I was in therapy, and the therapists, I wouldn't mind saying that, hey, I want to do dbt. And they had me do CBT and DBT after that. Yeah, it was the only thing that worked for me. And same thing with Brooke Schofield. She talked about Wellbutrin, which is an antidepressant. And I've been on so many antidepressants, some that made me, like, super moody or like. Or super, like, even more depressed. And that was the only one that actually worked for me. And I learned about it from just like Brooke talking about uncancelled. And then dbt, I learned from you talking about it online. So it's like.
Ben
And you just saying that now, I think is so things I've always talked about that with my antidepressant journey too, is that it wouldn't make me have thoughts, which is, like, so wild. Like, you don't think like antidepressants make you more depressed, but mine did. It made me feel so, like, crazy. And it's like, such a weird thing because no one, like, really talks about that. So that's why it seems like I'm anti antidepressants. But mine just didn't work. And I feel like a lot of people go through that, but they. They think it's just like them spiraling more. But sometimes it can be your medication and ask your doctor, of course, to see where you should go. So it's good you found something that works for you. And, yeah, I think the more people talk about it, there's something out there that'll work for that person because everything is so different and so specific. But it's amazing everything you've been through, and you're so grounded and wonderful and humble and all that stuff like that. And if you become a big star one day, please come back. Even if not just come back. Just come back for any episode and just talk. But if you're a big star, come back. Definitely.
Trisha Paytas
If you're a big star.
Ben
Next Hunger Games. He plays. What is the one Young Ha. Right here.
Trisha Paytas
See you in the next Hunger Games movie.
Ben
Just go a little more blonde.
Trisha Paytas
I see you in a big franchise like that. You know, when they reboot Harry Potter too.
Ben
Oh, for sure. I mean, not to too my own horn, but I did recognize Rachel Zler when she was like 14 years old before she was in west side Story. And it was years later. She must be over recognized her, but clock those tweets. In 2015. I was tweeting for her. I was like, this girl's going to be a star, and she's literally the biggest star ever. So I have a feeling you'll get that same Trisha touch. All right, guys, check out. But, Everett, thank you so much from the bottom of your heart. This letter, everything, the donuts, effects you came like, everything. You're just the sweetest and stay sweet and stay wonderful. And if I'm ever in Orange county at Secret Storm, we should go see a show or get lobster Mac and cheese. Do you like lobster?
Guest
Yes, totally.
Ben
We'll get lobster Mac and cheese together. All right, guys, well, thanks for watching this episode. Episode of Just Trish. Check out Oscar's vlogging channel. You can start vlogging. Oscar's vlogging.
Trisha Paytas
