Here we are again on our own Going down the only road I've ever known.
Kayl
Is that Noah Khan? Was that Noah Khan? Yes or no?
Kale
No.
Kayl
Welcome to another episode of karma and chaos. Today we're in the camper.
Kale
Welcome back, baby.
Kayl
This weekend has been so event. Eventful because Becky came to visit. She got in super, super late on.
Kale
Thursday night because Leah works night shift for the next three nights. So she goes to work, comes homes and sleeps. So it was perfect timing for me to get away for a couple days.
Kayl
You didn't move in?
Kale
Not again. Kale told me a couple weeks ago. And I came for two reasons. Kayl told me a couple weeks ago that she had to take Isaac prom shopping for a suit. And I said to myself, kale taking pro Isaac prom shopping for a suit sounds like a terrible idea.
Kayl
That's what you thought.
Kale
Like, not that you were taking, like, the idea of. It was great.
Kayl
Like me trying to do suit things. Yeah.
Leah
To buy a suit for him.
Kayl
That's fair. That's fair.
Kale
And so in my head I'm like, how can I make this work? How can I get there? And I had to come back here anyway before the baby came because we.
Kayl
Have so much stuff.
Kale
Because I had to get baby stuff.
Kayl
Yeah. And so it really worked out.
Kale
It worked out perfect.
Kayl
Prom shopping.
Kale
Yeah. So let me just set the scene for you. Kayl makes an appointment at Indochino.
Kayl
No, I made an appointment at Nordstrom.
Kale
Indochino is the soup place in Nordstrom.
Kayl
Oh, when you were saying that, I thought it was a different store.
Kale
No, Indochino is set up in Nordstrom. Those people worked for Indochino.
Kayl
Oh, and I also had an appointment at Men's Warehouse.
Kale
That would have been fine. So she had an appointment. SAP at Indochino. For all of you guys that don't know. I don't know why you would. Maybe you do, because your husbands or your sons or whoever, your dads. I don't have one, but Indochino is a custom suit place. They're great. That's where I got Spencey's suit from. But it takes weeks.
Kayl
Yeah, they said three weeks. And that was immediately out of the question because prom is in, like, 20 days, so we would not have been able to make that work.
Kale
No. And so I'm trying to. And she's like, okay, we just have to buy something off the shelf here. And I said, why don't we just go to another store? And you're like, we just can't go to another store. Let me. Let me tell you guys. I have. I've bought in over a hundred suits.
Kayl
In my life, which is amazing.
Kale
And so I'm like, just try. And she's like, we can't leave. Have them have. You know, have him. Have him look here. And I said, trust me. We're at the Christiana Mall. There's millions of stores there. I said, just trust me.
Kayl
I wasn't trusting.
Kale
She was not trusting.
Kayl
No. Because I. Not that I didn't trust Becky with the suits, but I was like, we.
Alessandra
Are pressed for time.
Kayl
So I was.
Kale
We just need to buy one here. If you've bought a suit before, you know, they have those, like, random suit shops that just have so many suits, right? They have tuxes. They have all different kinds of things. And, you know, they're under a couple hundred bucks. You can find one there for 100 bucks. It's really just great for events like proms or weddings or whatever it is that you need where you're not buying, like, a $500 suit, $600 suit for something that you're investing in for your. For the rest of your life.
Kayl
Right.
Kale
We walk in, and they had everything that we needed.
Kayl
Everything. They had suits, tux, undershirt, shoes, if we wanted to get shoes there, bow ties, belts.
Alessandra
They had everything.
Kayl
And I was like, wow. This was. So Becky even picked out a suit.
Alessandra
For me for the Webby Awards.
Kale
I did. It was so sick. So I. I'm gonna become scale stylish. So I. I know what she likes.
Kayl
But what's crazy is I never even showed suits picked out that I sent to Kristen for myself to send to the stylist.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
Shout out to Ali. Love you so much. Sorry I didn't need you this time. Look what I picked out. Like, I was picking out suits to wear.
Kale
I know what you like. I picked out. I picked out this cream color suit, and she looked at me and said, absolutely. If you guys know anything about. She's such a dick. She'll be like. She was like, absolutely not. I'm not putting that on. I. I'm. I'm gonna blend in or I'm gonna. Blah, blah. It's not gonna look good.
Kayl
I. The cream color of the jacket I felt like was going to clash with my skin.
Kale
I understood the concern, but I said first. I was like, try these pants on. And she was like, oh, really? I said, yeah, try these pants on. Pants looked great. Need to get taken in because her butt's too big so that the waist is always a little weird.
Kayl
Gapping.
Kale
Yeah. And then we looked at the, like, and then I brought this full suit over, and I was like, just trust me. Put this on. She said, no. I said, dude, you're pissing me off. Just put it on. She put it on.
Kayl
Loved it.
Kale
It looked great.
Kayl
Loved it.
Kale
I said, I could see this in, like, you know when people wear shorts under, like.
Kayl
No, I think I said that.
Kale
No, I said that.
Kayl
I think I did. It was really cute. So that's what I'm gonna wear to the Webby Awards. I just have to send it to Lindsay so she can coordinate.
Kale
Cute love.
Kayl
Looks so good. So Isaac wanted to wear all black Converse, so we went and grab all black Converse that Becky was wearing, which is so funny. And we got those. And then we went to lunch, and we had a really good time.
Kale
We had a great time.
Kayl
We did. And it was so successful. And I. If it would have been just me and not Becky, we would have been to 12 different stores and still been.
Kale
Lost, and he wouldn't have gotten something that he wanted. You would have, like, been like, you have to pick something here.
Kayl
Right? Like, he would not have been happy because I wouldn't. Yeah. I mean, we would either have stayed at Nordstrom and picked something that he didn't love, or we would have been in 12 different stores, and it wouldn't have come together as seamlessly and cohesively as it did.
Kale
My eyes did get a little wet, though, when he was trying on suits.
Kayl
Yeah.
Kale
I was looking at him and I was like, wow, he is a young man. Like, he. He is a grown ass man.
Kayl
What's really nice about it is that he went in with the idea of one color, but he was open minded and picked. Ended up picking a different color.
Kale
Yeah. And he looked so good.
Kayl
So good.
Kale
He looked so good and he was happy. Anytime I get time with Isaac is always a good time. So.
Kayl
So after that, we went to lunch and then.
Kale
Okay, not only did we go to lunch, we went to. We went to the Cheesecake Factory. It was an Isaac day. So Isaac got to pick whatever we were doing.
Kayl
He really loves their Mac and cheese balls.
Kale
They ordered like everything off the appetizer list. Took like a couple bites of everything because that brings a goal. Yeah. Everyone. They bring it home and feed everyone in the house when they get home. But I'm on a lettuce wrap kick, so that's what I got was lettuce wraps. Because the summer's around the corner.
Kayl
I loved your food. It was so good.
Kale
Oh, yeah, I did give you a bite. Isaac took a video of us walking. Walking. Because he went in to get a table and we went to park and he took a video of us and he was like, looks like a bunch of lesbians.
Kayl
I think he sent it to me. I'll send it. We had a lot of fun. And then we came back home. The kids went swimming in the pool.
Kale
I went in with Rio.
Kayl
Yeah, you did go in with Rio. Yeah. See, like this whole weekend was so fun. Rio had a good time in the pool. He was really excited about that. Lux and Creed went swimming and we just kind of were shooting the. In the, in the pool.
Kale
And what else did I do?
Kayl
You picked up a big ass spider. It was like this big.
Kale
Not what I'm talking about. I got on the bikes.
Kayl
Oh, my God. She is ripping and running through these. These neighbor. Not neighborhoods, these yards on the dirt bike and on the motorcycle.
Kale
I think it's probably like a. I don't want. I don't think it's a 50cc. It's a little bit bigger.
Kayl
I don't even know what that means. All I know is she was riding, but it ripped.
Leah
It rips around.
Kayl
And I was like, the dirt bike.
Kale
The dirt bike.
Kayl
That's Lincoln's.
Kale
Yeah. I was.
Kayl
I was zooming and I was like, you couldn't even pay me. I would eat so fast, like the way that I would. That puddle that you went through, like that, like, wet, marshy area. I would have hate.
Kale
He brought out his big Harley that. It's a big bike. It's a. A heavy, big bike.
Kayl
I don't Even know what that means?
Kale
It's. It, it's huge. Text him, ask him how big that bike is. And he's like, you can take it. And I said okay. And I, I put a helmet on and I jumped on that thing and I ripped it down the road. Just do my lesbian. You know, it was a lot of.
Kayl
Fun to watch you do it. I wouldn't do it because I grew.
Kale
Up riding.
Kayl
Becky and the Harley. If you had a biker club, what would you call it?
Kale
Well, there's already Dikes on bikes. That's like a thing.
Kayl
Dikes on bikes?
Kale
Yeah, they go to all the pride events.
Kayl
Why would they say dikes? Why would they say that?
Kale
Because it rhymes.
Kayl
No, I get that.
Kale
Why wouldn't it? That's the, you know, the, the story writes itself.
Kayl
Dykes on bikes is diabolical. Why would they like.
Kale
Because there's dikes on bikes.
Kayl
Okay, so if you had your own, if you were the presidente of your own bike club, what would you call it?
Kale
I don't know what my own. My gang would be.
Kayl
We should. It would be karma, chaos and Harley's.
Kale
No.
Kayl
Yeah.
Kale
You aren't a biker girl.
Kayl
I'm absolutely not a biker girl. Never could be, never would be. I'm not a old lady or whatever they call their women. I'm not one of those. Now let's talk about tempo.
Alessandra
I'm starting 75 soft June 1st. So with that being said, I don't want to buy fast food anymore. Alessandra
Okay, everyone listening to this podcast. Ladies, specifically I need you to stop what you're doing and listen to us because you need to pay attention here. We're all getting to that age where our bodies are just not what they used to be. And you know what I'm talking about. You don't have the energy that you used to have. Your skin isn't as soft, it's not as glowing as it used to be, your hair is probably falling out and you just don't feel or look as good anymore. And it's freaking sucks. We've all felt that exact same way. And then a friend introduced us to this amazing product called Strong Cell and listen to us when we tell you it changed our lives.
Leah
It's got NADH, CoQ10 and marine collagen in it, which all act as a lifeline to your body cells. It's simple. There are cells in every single area of your body. If your cells are healthy and kicking ass, you're gonna be healthy and kicking ass. Strong Cell is the only company to make NADH that actually gets to your cells and comes in a yummy daily drink. It's been 30 days and I have seen crazy improvement. You know, this really helps my skin feel more bouncy and younger. Plus I feel like my brain is clear, my energy levels are more balanced. I'll be honest, I was tempted to make this my little secret, but I.
Kale
Can'T do that to you guys.
Leah
You guys have to try this right now.
Alessandra
Go to strongcel.com and insert code karma with a K to get 20% off.
Kayl
Seriously.
Alessandra
Strongstyle.com now that's spelled S T R O N G C E L L. You want to look and feel 20 again, then go get you some strong cell.
Kayl
Now. The kids were having a good time. They were playing basketball. They were doing whatever. And then Isaac and Becky baked. Becky and I put on Black Panther.
Kale
We did.
Kayl
We think that's a classic. We love that Disney movie.
Kale
We were laying on the couch and Rio was laying with us. We weren't like. We were like, she was this. Anyway, we were laying on the couch and Rio was there. And Rio's an interesting kid because he doesn't really like people. And so, like, he hate. He doesn't like strangers. He will not go near a stranger. And he's mean. He'll be like, no, get away from me. And. And so me and him are warming up to each other. We are. And we are friends. But he was. He was doing this thing. It was so cute. On the couch. He would run to the other side of the couch and he would, like, side eye Kale to, like, say, get her.
Kayl
He'd be like, mom.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
And he'd point at me, and I'd be like, get her.
Kale
And he'd sprint across the couch and jump on me and start fighting me. And then he'd be laughing so hard. And then, you know, and then he'd be like, get off of me.
Kayl
Get off.
Kale
Don't touch me. Get off of me.
Kayl
But he was, like, kidding.
Kale
Yeah, he was joking with me. But I just. Every moment I get with your kids, it makes me so excited to have my own. I do want to bring something up. Very problematic for me, though.
Kayl
What?
Kale
If any of you ever get the chance.
Kayl
I don't know where this is going.
Kale
To attend a sporting event.
Kayl
Oh, my God.
Kale
With her. Just sit next to her. Maybe just for, like, 10 minutes. She says the most outlandish shit.
Kayl
Because for me. I understand what you're saying. Like, okay, my nephew, who's not really my nephew, but he's my nephew, was driving to the basket. From my perspective, where he was driving, I felt like would have made more sense for him to have passed the ball to Lincoln and Lincoln to drive.
Kale
Let me set the scene here for you.
Kayl
No, Acknowledge that first.
Kale
I'm talking about this mo. This play.
Kayl
Do you understand my perspective?
Kale
No.
Kayl
Why?
Kale
I'm gonna explain this kid or her cousin or whatever it is.
Kayl
It's Lux and Creed's cousin. You got the what? My nephew that I brought to Disney.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
He's driving the ball.
Kale
He's really good. He's. He's a point guard. He's crossed the kid over that was on him and drove to the basket. Like, he made a really good move and drove to the basket. Kale is saying, look for Lincoln. Lincoln is above the key, above the three point mark.
Kayl
But he was wide open.
Kale
Yeah, no shit. He was wide open because he drove to the basket.
Kayl
Why drive when someone is open and has a clear shot is what I'm saying.
Kale
Because he wouldn't have. Like, he pulled his defender with him. That's why he was open behind him. He's driving to the basket. He's not going to find where I.
Kayl
Got to, what I got to. You're acknowledging, but it makes no sense. I'm also not a basketball coach, but from my perspective, it seems like it would make more sense to pass it and have someone who's wide open drive.
Kale
To the basket every second was look for.
Kayl
No, it wasn't. She's being dramatic. She's being so drama. I've calmed down over the years. That is so dramatic. I just. I guess driving to the basket makes more sense for her. As a basketball. Former basketball player, basketball coach, as a mom, I'm not understanding on the sideline why we wouldn't pass to someone that's open. That's all.
Kale
This girl got called for a flip foul, which was a clean block, but she had, like, her arm. Her other arm was all over and she was like, how did that.
Kayl
I didn't see her. I only saw her. The arm that she put up. That's what I was looking at. I didn't see her other arm.
Kale
Yeah, no, but I looked at you.
Kayl
And said, what was that?
Kale
Yeah, she just said it was outlandish.
Kayl
Dramatic. She is being so dramatic. You have to come to another game.
Alessandra
Before Bex is born because I'm going.
Kayl
To film the whole thing so people.
Kale
Can see that I should have secretly filmed you.
Kayl
You are so dramatic.
Kale
I'm not. Even Javi said something, that she's always like this. No, because you say things that don't make sense and maybe they don't, but isn't that embarrassing?
Kayl
No. I don't give a. If I'm there and I'm supporting my kid, that's what's important. Knows not to listen to me.
Kale
I just. I don't know what kind of sport parent I'm going to be.
Kayl
Okay, well, we'll see.
Kale
I don't. Yeah, I guess if. If he becomes an athlete, we'll see.
Kayl
Well, we had a good weekend and then we finished it off by being in this camper and recording Carmine Chaos.
Kale
Yeah. So things might be a little weird because all of our recording stuff is with Alessandra. I can only imagine they're probably like, what the. Are they? We just decided to do this ourselves. No. No help. No team help. I was like, I think that we could figure this out. So if there's any quality issues here, we got no one else to believe.
Kayl
I'm blaming her because I just showed up, I looked at her and said, I'm glad you're into tech, because I would never be able to do this. I texted Alessandra and Kristen, and I said, can we plug two mics into this? And Alessandro said, unfortunately, no. I said, we figured out a way. We figured it out. We're hoping for the best, and that's it. I hope my laptop doesn't die before this episode is over. So we're gonna figure this out.
Kale
Buckle up. It was fun, though. I love this.
Kayl
The next time we're together is probably not until, what, next month?
Kale
I know. I'm gonna. Yeah, definitely not till next month. Time's just going so fast. I'm getting ready for our baby shower. I don't know if this is gonna come out. Our baby shot. My baby shower will happen. Have happened. Kale bailed on it.
Kayl
Oh, yeah. I flaked. I was a huge flake. Isaac has a debate competition and prom the same day as her baby shower, and I didn't realize that when I RSVP'd yes. And then Isaac was asked to promote. Becky is the most unhinged person. Unintentionally. She said she likes to fiddle, and I think she meant to say fidget.
Kale
I did mean to say fidget because.
Kayl
She has this thing on her phone, and it's like this, like, grippy thing, but it, like, moves.
Alessandra
And I was like, oh, I've, like.
Kayl
Never seen anything like this. And she said, I like to fiddle. And I was like, you're not P. Diddy. Like, we're not adding you to the Diddler Club. Okay.
Kale
I said, it's fidgeting, I think. Wait, is it?
Kayl
Oh, like a fiddle.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
Is that a fiddle? I don't think this camper is level because it's rocking. I spread out all of these little Shrek.
Kale
I keep playing with them.
Kayl
I'm like, shrek stickers from Heather Lohmeyer. She sent these in. I think it was. She sent me a birthday package, and these were in there. And so I was.
Kale
What the Shrek?
Kayl
I loved them. And so I put them in here for me and Becky.
Kale
And now look at Us.
Kayl
Look at us.
Kale
Look at us.
Kayl
Pull out your podcast list.
Kale
Why? Because you don't come prepared. I did.
Kayl
No, no, I have. Actually. A friend of mine gave me a topic that I wanted to ask you about because I know of the. It's not like, a theory, but, like, the U. Hauling with lesbians.
Kale
Yes.
Kayl
Not necessarily applying to heterosexual couples, but I would say in general. Homo, hetero, doesn't matter. What is the fastest you've ever fallen in love with someone?
Kale
A day?
Kayl
There's no way.
Kale
A thousand percent a day.
Kayl
What do you. Who?
Kale
Anyone. Name them I've fallen in love with. I fall in love with people in a day.
Kayl
No, no, I'm talking about, like, a romantic love interest. A day. A day?
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
I was thinking, like, Leah, I said.
Kale
I love you after, I think, like, a month knowing her. But, like, I probably loved her the first. After the first interaction we had.
Kayl
What about staying. Falling in love and staying in love?
Kale
No, it's weird because, like, I, like, can't really remember my past relationships. Like, I don't remember intimate, like, loving moments with any of my exes.
Kayl
Intimate, loving moments? In what way? Do you remember how you felt about them when you were with them?
Kale
No.
Kayl
That is so interesting to me.
Kale
Like, I can't, like, tell you a moment in time where, like, we had a moment together or something we did together at, like, at all.
Kayl
I also don't remember those types of moments in my past relationships, but, like, I could tell you who I was in love with, and I remember how it was. Does that make sense?
Kale
Yeah. Like, I literally, like, this is gonna be really up. Like, Kim. I remember when she broke up with me and she, like, the, like. And a fight that we got. I don't remember anything past that. Casey. I remember, like, all the up she did to me.
Kayl
I remember the up. Yeah, to you.
Kale
Maria. Like, Maria, I look back and, like, I just remember our relationship being, like, healthy and really good. But, like, I don't remember any, like, moments of, like, which, like, I feel bad about. But.
Kayl
So if your relationship with Maria was healthy and good, why did y'all break up?
Kale
Just wrong time, I think.
Kayl
Just life.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
Interesting.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
The butterfly effect is so weird.
Kale
Yeah. It was just, like, Maria's a great person. Like, it was just, like, wrong. Like, wrong time of life, really. Yeah.
Kayl
That was the. I knew. I know of her, knew of her, but I never.
Kale
Maria's a really good person. Like, her and Leah are very similar in, like, morals and values, and just, like, they're, like. They're completely different people for sure. But yeah. Just can't say anything. I'd like have nothing bad to say about her or our relationship.
Kayl
Every single one of my exes was toxic. Not. Let me not say that. Not my exes was not talked or your relationship. Our relationships were all very, very toxic.
Kale
Yeah, I couldn't. I, I'm not kidding you. I was talking. I couldn't remember one of my ex's last names. And I was like. And I had, I, like, had to look for it. Like, it. I, I don't. My mind does. Maybe it's from microdosing and like, it like just blanked out. Like bad parts of my. I don't know.
Kayl
It was crazy.
Kale
I don't. I, I. And I feel bad because obviously my relationships weren't all like, bad moments, but.
Kayl
I think that I remember a lot of mine because they were all so like the feeling that you get when it's really toxic that like up and down roller coasters stick to your stomach. It was very similar to how my mom was growing up. Like when I would be sick to my stomach not knowing what I was going to get home to.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
That's how all my relationships have been.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
Every single one of them.
Alessandra
All right, Becky, you're about to have a baby and you might need a sitter. So I want to tell you about a babysitter app that doesn't feel like a dating app.
Kale
So tell me about it.
Alessandra
So you don't want to find sitters the same way you find tacos, right? You don't want to open your app, start scrolling and then just pick what comes to mind. When it comes to your kids, you want someone that's more than one star rating and a smiling photo. That's why Sitter City is the real deal. Sitter search. You can filter by experience, availability, training, and whether or not they've been background checked, which is really important to me. So I'm sure it would also be important to you. And you can find sitters who have had experience with toddlers, no cpr, or even come with glowing reviews from parents in your actual neighborhood. And it won't take 40 tabs and meltdown to get there.
Leah
I am so excited to have an option to use once we are ready to be looking for a sitter for baby backs and just something that we can trust and have opportunity to explore different options for when Leah and I are ready for our next date night.
Alessandra
All you have to do is go to sittercity.com to find the care your family deserves and you can breathe easier knowing that your kids are in good hands. Visit sittercity.com today.
Kayl
So Terrell was my first, like, boyfriend. We were together for, like, four months when he broke up with me. That was like, middle school, but, like, into high school. They dated this guy named John, and, like, he just would break up with me all the time. And then one time he just, like, on a whim, broke up with me, and I just was, like, it. You know how women are. Silent leavers. It was one of those things, like, every time you break up with me, I'm just, like, slowly just stepping away. Yeah. So the one time he did it, I ended up just never going back. He spent a year wearing I love Kailyn Lowry shirts to school. We were in the same homeroom in high school, but I had already started dating someone else. And he would wear these in the hallway.
Kale
Was this before Joe?
Kayl
Yeah, and then that was into ninth grade. And then I was with Matt for on and off for two or three years. He and same thing, just very toxic. Always arguing, fighting, doing all the things. And then I was with Joe. Same thing, same thing.
Kale
Yeah. I hate that for you.
Kayl
I mean, it's part of life. I wouldn't.
Kale
I just. I hate, like, toxic relationships just, like, they make me, like, sick because I've been in them. And, like, it makes me even. It makes me sick to think about.
Kayl
I just thought all of your relationships were pretty healthy.
Kale
I don't know. I don't know. I'm just thankful for my love. You. Leah. She doesn't listen, but she listens to the clips. I'll like, be like, well, we have, like, tick tock time in bed at night. And she'll like, all of a sudden, I'll start hearing your voice or my voice, and she'll start giggling. It's. She's just seeing it for the first.
Kayl
What the hell?
Kale
We do Got to get her on.
Kayl
That would be fun.
Kale
She's funny. She's so funny.
Kayl
It's really funny. She's so cute. She's funny. And she was on FaceTime when you were playing with Rio on the couch yesterday, and she was like, I feel like you're teaching him bad habits. I was like, oh, my gosh. Probably running on the couch isn't safe, but it's fine.
Kale
It was fine. It was cute. Someone commented on one of the Carmen cast tick tocks and said, you know, Becky, being so active on social really makes me love this podcast even more. Like, getting to know me and my life. And I could have cried because what a nice comment. Because I've been working really hard about being active on social.
Kayl
I love that.
Kale
Been doing mini vlogs. The mini vlogs are honestly more for me than they're for anyone else. Because I think about re watching those mini vlogs of me and Leah with our kids one day, and I'm like, this is gonna be so cute and.
Kayl
Your kids will love it. My kids, when I go on my Snapchat and pull up memories, my kids love. This is so crazy, because if you really think about it, like, our parents were pulling out photo albums.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
We're pulling up digital footprints of their, you know, every move. Right. And so I pull up on Snapchat, I forgot that it had memories. So when I realized, oh, my gosh, every night, the kids are like, can we see that video? When. And then it's usually something completely different. But Creed loves seeing himself. Lux loves seeing himself. And sometimes I'll send them to our family group chat so that Lincoln and Isaac can have them. But I. They love it. They love looking at old videos and pictures.
Kale
It's been cool. It's been fun.
Kayl
Yeah.
Kale
And it's been, like. It's been nice just being involved with people, too. I was hysterical. If you guys listen, you follow me. I was hysterically crying in my last vlog, my last P.O. box open, because someone sent me a gift and, like, wrote in it, like, dear Becks, your mama Becks. What? What did it say?
Kayl
It was great advice.
Kale
Like, gave me great advice years ago. She doesn't know me, but, like, she's made an impact on my life. And I was just like, you just.
Kayl
Don'T know how much value and weight that your words can hold towards someone else, whether it be good or bad.
Kale
Yeah. Yeah.
Kayl
Crazy.
Kale
It was just like.
Kayl
We forgot to say that you met Matt.
Kale
Oh, yeah.
Kayl
We forgot about that.
Kale
I was thinking about that this whole time.
Kayl
Yeah. Becky also met Matt Matthews today.
Kale
I did on FaceTime.
Kayl
Yeah. And so he. I'm going to Dallas.
Kale
We're officially friends because we followed each other on Instagram.
Kayl
Yeah. So I'm going out to Dallas. I'm gonna be. I'm going to one of his shows. And we were talking about some stuff, and Becky was there, so I introduced them. And that was cool. That was fun.
Kale
I hoped. I think it a lot of fun for the three of us to do something together.
Kayl
We would have so much fun.
Kale
Does he hate lesbians?
Kayl
Not that I'm aware of.
Kale
It's a thing.
Kayl
What?
Kale
Gay men hating lesbians.
Kayl
Let Me ask him.
Kale
Even though we were the backbone.
Kayl
I've never heard of that. What, what would that be like in like. What is that?
Kale
I don't know.
Kayl
He said, hahaha. No, I'm so shook.
Kale
Yeah, it's a thing. Good thing he doesn't hate him. Maybe it's because, like, I don't know, they're exactly what each other, like, doesn't want in life. Like, I don't know, obsessed with men. Lesbians don't like men. You know, Gay men don't like women.
Kayl
Wait, my friend said, I sent the video of you saying that you fall in love in a day. Yeah, exactly. Give me three hours with a great vibe. And that's all she wrote.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
What? Yeah, I'm telling you, that's so interesting to me. I love this for everybody. I love, love, you know, I'm not the typical gay. That's what Matt said. I just love him.
Kale
I'm excited to meet him. Gorgeous house, gorgeous farm.
Kayl
Oh yeah. He took us on a virtual tour of his house. Love.
Kale
It was. It was. I want to go there.
Kayl
Yeah, that would be a lot of fun.
Kale
And then we could see Chandy.
Kayl
Oh yeah, yeah. Chandler is the videographer that we've used. You might see him on my website. We met him because he works through. He works for Matt, but then I was able to hire him and so I just haven't seen him in a minute. It's been a long time. He's busy.
Kale
Oh. I have two things I want to definitely talk about on this episode before it gets too far. Time past.
Kayl
Too far. Time passed. What is wrong with you?
Kale
Oh, first, Leah is fucking nesting.
Kayl
Oh my God. First of all, the amount of stuff that Becky and Leah had in their garage attic where they had all their stuff, she sent me videos and pictures and the basement. What was all of that like? Do I need to make a plan to clean out my house before I die?
Kale
Yes. Okay, so this is gonna be very sad.
Kayl
Okay.
Kale
When we moved into our house, it was two twin sisters that lived there. They were twin sisters.
Kayl
Oh, I didn't know they were twins. Pat and Bobby. I gotta believe we were fraternal.
Kale
I don't know.
Kayl
Do they look the same?
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
Oh, then they're identical. Okay, most likely.
Kale
So Pat adopted gene, like 20 years ago or whatever it was. Gene, like raised like they were raised together, like in whatever. So when we moved into the house, they don't. They'd never had kids, they never got married, so they don't have any family alive. And so their Entire house of stuff I boxed up. And that's what was above the garage was all their stuff. Because at the time, Pat was still alive. Gene moved her in with her. Him, and that's when we moved into the house. Well, Pap has since passed away, so.
Kayl
Did you meet them in person?
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
Oh, wow.
Kale
Yeah. Bobby passed away, like, 10 years ago. I never met her. Okay, we're go doing another round of going through their stuff, like, throwing out stuff that, like, no one would want so that Gene can go through stuff he wants to keep. But, like, their lives end with us.
Kayl
Like, because they don't have any.
Kale
They didn't have kids, they didn't have family. Like, they have boxes and boxes of photos, and it's like, where do they go? Like, we can't keep them. Like, like, their lives literally end with us. Like, or with Gene. Right? Like. Like, I guess, Becks. I mean, yeah, for. For like a little pieces, but, like, they're like, we're not gonna tell stories about. About them because we didn't know that, like, them like, that either. Or like, Leah and I didn't. But it's just, like, crazy to think about, like, their entire life was in our hands. And, like, we just don't like out, like, their travel. They traveled the world all the time, so they had photo albums and photo albums. They had parties at their house all the time, so there's just photos. And like.
Kayl
Yeah, we're keeping what makes sense.
Kale
Yeah, we're keeping some of it, but we're not keeping 30 boxes of stuff, like, of old documents, like, of their entire life. It's just crazy. It's wild.
Kayl
How do you determine, like, what you keep? Because I think about what I. I don't keep anything. The only thing I keep is pictures because. But I have kids to. That would probably want them someday. But outside of that, I'm not keeping any. I'm not keeping furniture. I'm not keeping things. It's just pictures.
Kale
Yeah, I don't know. I don't. Like, we are giving stuff to Gene for him to decide. We're keeping a few photo albums of, like, the house, and there's pictures of.
Kayl
You know, his baby shower.
Kale
Leah's baby shower was at our house.
Kayl
And then her baby shower is at that house. Yeah.
Kale
And. And there's pictures of them walking their dog in the same place that we take our dog for a while.
Kayl
So you have to keep that.
Kale
Yeah, for sure. Yeah, we're keeping some stuff, but, like, they're. They're pictures traveling the world, like, we're not looking through these pictures with like knowing any of like, it's just weird.
Kayl
That's so. Because, like, what do you do with it?
Kale
Exactly. Exactly. Yeah. And like for us now everything is digital, so it's not as like, you know, even our childhood. Well, you don't have any.
Kayl
Hey. Shout out to anyone from my mom or my dad's side of the family. If you're listening to this podcast and you have pictures of me as a small child, would love to have them. Would love to see pictures of my childhood. Thank you so much.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
Also, like, if anything happens to my mom, if she's holding on to any pictures of me, I'll never see them again.
Kale
Do you think she has pictures of you?
Kayl
I would hope so. I know my grandparents did.
Kale
Are they alive?
Kayl
No, they're both dead.
Kale
Oh yeah, that's right. We need a PI.
Leah

Kale
So that was one thing. It was just crazy because, you know, it's. Life is just wild.
Kayl
It really is. It really is the circle of life.
Kale
I. We do. I do have pictures of Pat and Bobby in my office.
Kayl
Oh, but that's cute. I think that there's a way that you guys can do it. Like, keep what's important and what makes sense that you could explain to Bex who they are. But to your point, like, there's just certain things that have no relevancy to you guys.
Leah
Like, I don't even have pictures of.
Kale
My grandparents in my. In my house now. You know, like, it's just. I didn't know who my mom's grandparents were.
Kayl
Your mom's? Really? You didn't know your great grandparents?
Kale
No, I barely knew my own grandparents.
Kayl
I loved my grandparents so much. And I also loved my mom's grandmother, my nana, my great grandmother. Loved her so much. An angel on this earth.
Kale
Yeah. That's why, like, what you're doing now creates life. Like, people will always remember you, which is crazy.
Kayl
What do you mean?
Kale
Like, you as a person, like, you have such a digital footprint of like, and even like the businesses you're creating like that'll always be something that will be continuously passed down.
Kayl
I just don't ever want. And I've talked about this a hundred million times on this podcast on coffee almost. I never want to be a burden or create extra work and problem problems for my children. So like what you see in the garage, that's all I have. There's no storage anywhere else. I don't have a storage unit. I don't have a basement. I don't have an attic. What is in that garage right there, across from this camper is all the stuff that I have. And I have memory boxes. If you look on the shelves, all the kids have their own memory boxes. That's all.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
Like there's nothing else. But then what? Then what's in that garage? So if they can't get through that, burn it all. I don't even care. Just let it go. I remember going through my grandparents house with my uncle when my grandmother was in a home and my grandfather had died. And we went through everything and it was like the attic, the basement, the. Just everything because they had built that house from the ground up. And like, you know, there were. I didn't want anything but like pieces of furniture, which I. I do have two things from them, but I don't. And I actually really didn't think it was that much stuff. Now that I think about it.
Kale
Furniture is a weird thing to keep around. Really not weird, just like difficult.
Kayl
Like one was a bench and one was a ladder that was like a wooden ladder. And I'm still trying to figure out what to do with it because I plant plants. I saw a way to do it on the ceiling with plants. I still haven't figured out like a.
Kale
Not what I was gonna say.
Kayl
What were you gonna say? Pots and pans.
Kale
I was gonna say blankets.
Kayl
Oh, it's too, it's too long. I guess I could cut it, but then it's like.
Kale
Do you have it here?
Kayl
Yeah, I'll show you.
Kale
Okay.
Kayl
It's like wrapped up and preserved.
Kale
It's so funny because you just said plants and then continued on with the plant theme. But like, that's not what I was gonna say at all.
Kayl
Oh, what were you gonna say? Just like, like blankets.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
Yeah. It's too long.
Kale
Yeah. So it's just life is. The circle of life is. Is just wild and it makes it feel a lot more nostalgic. In our house, you.
Kayl
What you have with Leah at your current home can never be replicated, replaced, redone, nothing. The location of the house, the character of the house. It has so much character. It has so much history. It has so much.
Kale
So much.
Kayl
You can never replicate that.
Kale
No. And I'm trying to build my recording studio there.
Kayl
Yeah. No, it's. I'm obsessed with it.
Kale
Yeah. I love it there. Every single time I. I open my eyes and I step outside, I. I say out loud, I love this house.
Kayl
And you love your life.
Kale
Yeah, I do love my life.
Kayl
I love that for you.
Kale
Speaking of loving life, I spoke recently. Tacos Chicas moved in to the building that's near my house. Mohegan Farms is near my house. Don't stalk me. But they. It's like an outdoor. It's a food place, and Tacos Chicas is a local food thing that moved there. And so I had the most interesting conversation with the owner of it. And she was just speaking. She has three kids. She's from. So from California. She's also an egg donor. She's donated her egg. But we were. And we were just talking about parenthood. And she said something that, you know, she never tells her kids that, like, she's proud of them. She always says, like, tells them that they should be proud of themselves. And it has adjusted every single part of my mind. It was so funny because I sent something about business to Natasha, Leah's best friend, and she said, you should be so proud of yourself. And she was like, sorry. Leah told me about the conversation. That felt weird. And I was like. That actually felt so good. Like, I was like, yeah, I am proud of.
Kayl
But I think you should do. I do both.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
I'm so proud of you. You should be so proud of yourself. Yeah, like, something like that.
Kale
So it's not like that. It's not. They're just looking for that. I'm proud. Validation. Like, the validation comes from themselves and just switching those to, like. I was like, wow. Yeah, I'm gonna use that all the time.
Kayl
I think Isaac sent me something I posted on my story.
Alessandra
Oh, my God, Mom.
Kayl
Oh, my God. I did so good on my science test. I even got an extra credit points. Extra credit points. I'm so happy. And I said. Then I said once. He said, I'm so happy. I said, I'm so proud of you.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
Because he acknowledged it already. Like, he should be so proud of himself. Because the day before this, he literally was like, I have a science test. I don't think I'm going to do well, blah, blah, blah. And so he should be so proud of himself. Yourself.
Kale
Yeah. So I'm Taking that and moving that forward with.
Kayl
But do you could do both?
Kale
Yeah, for sure. But just like I've never heard that before. Like I've just never heard it like consciously said in that way. Like oh, like you should like are you like asking like are you proud of yourself? Like you should be so proud of yourself.
Kayl
Yeah, I love that.
Kale
Just altering that mindset like where you're.
Kayl
Not looking for outside validation. You're validating yourself. Yeah, I love that.
Kale
It so I really like that.
Alessandra

I don't know why you would be in Blairstown, New Jersey, but if you are ever in Blairstown, you should definitely check out Tacos Chicas because I can't wait to bring you there. Kayl they have rice and beans.
Kayl
I love rice and beans. I live for rice and beans.
Kale
Yeah, I know so when you come.
Kayl
I really want you to take me on, like, a food tour. I'll come out to New Jersey for a couple days, and every single day try a new spot.
Kale
You know who did reach out about coming down and visiting?
Kayl
Who?
Kale
Our donor love. So our donor is gonna come and meet Bex, and him and his husband are gonna come and stay with us, or. No, they might not stay with us, but they're gonna come for a couple days.
Kayl
That'll be really nice. That's really cool. Yeah, that's really cool. How many kids do they have?
Kale
Yeah, we're the first.
Kayl
So you'll hold an extra special place?
Kale
We'll see. We're actually meeting, so we already met. Met. What a wild topic to get to at the end of an episode. But we already met one of the families that he has donated to. And then we meet the next one next week.
Kayl
What? The one that you already met. Where did. Where are they located?
Kale
They're in North Carolina.
Kayl
And then the one that you're meeting next week, where are they located?
Kale
I think they're in Boston.
Kayl
Oh, wow.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
So you'll all have. Do you guys all have. Are you guys all aligned in what you want the dynamic to be? If there is one at all?
Kale
We are with the family. We've met. We don't know what the new family is like.
Kayl
If you recorded an album, what type of music would you. Would you be recording?
Kale
Like, Noah Khan.
Kayl
Is that how you say his last name?
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
Okay, so I was right.
Kale
I introduced Kale to Noah Khan yesterday.
Kayl
Yeah. I was pleasantly surprised. I had never heard of him. Never heard of his music. She puts on another song, and she's like, you'll know this one.
Kale
She didn't know Stick season.
Kayl
Didn't know it. Never heard of it.
Kale
And I love Vermont, but it's the season of the sticks, and I saw your mom.
Kayl
What is season of the sticks? What does that mean? Like, what is the translation for that? Like, give it to me in layman's.
Kale
Like a season of the sticks. Like, it's like fall.
Kayl
Okay.
Kale
That's how I took it.
Kayl
I live in the sticks, so I thought.
Kale
Completely wrong. He's from northeast.
Kayl
Oh, love that. Are. Do you consider where you live in the northeast? I guess where I'm from is the northeast. Northeast Pennsylvania.
Kale
Like, you're like. You're from, like, northeast Pennsylvania, not like, the northeast of the country.
Kayl
It's both.
Kale
Like, I. I wouldn't.
Kayl
Where I'm from. Lake Wallen, Paul Pack area. Scranton area is northeast Pennsylvania. But it's also northeast of.
Kale
Yeah, yeah, I, I guess. Yeah.
Kayl
Map of the US Let me just.
Kale
Double check because no, it's definitely in the northeastern part of the country.
Kayl
I just want to be sure because people ripped me a new one about the whole Delaware being a peninsula.
Kale
It's okay. No one ripped you in new one.
Kayl
I saw the comments and they were like, yeah, with Maryland. And it's like, yeah.
Kale
Oh, Maryland.
Kayl
I didn't know that I needed to be that specific. Do you know? Oh yeah, Pennsylvania. Northeast Pennsylvania. Like I'm from the northeast Pennsylvania. And it's also, I don't know.
Kale
In my mind I'm just like, oh, like up north is more.
Kayl
But like, yeah, like obviously it's not Maine. Yeah, but it's still northeast of the United States.
Kale
It is still northeast of the United States for sure.
Kayl
What would you say? I guess Delaware is still sort of northeast, I guess.
Kale
Right. Like. Or like, like central maybe? I don't know.
Kayl
This is central.
Kale
Yeah.
Kayl
Like, I don't know. Anyways, I don't remember what we were talking about before the camera died. I have no clue. But if you have any other topics, I'm happy to.
Kale
Yeah, I, I would like to end because we're def. We don't have that much time. What I want. I'm going to run through what I have on my hospital bag list.
Kayl
Okay.
Kale
So far.
Kayl
Okay.
Kale
I haven't. I need to. To make it. But this is what I have on my hospital bag list so far. And if you let me know if I'm missing anything and if you're listening, you let me know if you're. If I'm missing anything. Number one, full size towels. A common thing that everyone said is that the hospital doesn't have big towels and that it's. If you shower there, it's uncomfortable.
Kayl
Yeah. It's like the hair towels. Size. Yeah.
Kale
Number two.
Kayl
Socks 100.
Kale
Number three, slip on shoes.
Kayl
Yes. Or slippers. Slides. Anything.
Kale
Number four, diapers for Leah.
Kayl
Yes. But they will. They should also give you diapers.
Kale
I think they give you pads and that's why people are like, bring your own diapers.
Kayl
They gave me underwear, like disposable underwear with pads in it. But it's your preference. That's fine.
Kale
Button up pajamas.
Kayl
Yes.
Kale
Silverette question mark.
Kayl
No clue what that is.
Kale
Nipple butter?
Kayl
Yeah.
Kale
A wear Home outfit?
Kayl
Yes.
Kale
Chapstick?
Kayl
Yes.
Kale
Portable charger?
Kayl
Yes.
Kale
Lotion?
Kayl
Yes.
Kale
A water bottle?
Kayl
Yes.
Kale
People said long phone charger. But why would I need that if I'm bringing a portable charger? We'll bring either Bluetooth speaker or sound machine. Sound machine in the car. I have car seat. Eat extra. Change clothes for Becky and Leah just in case I don't have anything else on my list right now.
Kayl
Toothbrush, toothpaste. You never bring toothpaste anywhere you go.
Kale
Yeah, but that's because Leah normally brings it. Toothpaste, toothbrushes, toiletries, you need.
Kayl
Body wash, you'll need.
Kale
Oh, really?
Kayl
Yes, they want. I would bring your own washcloths as well.
Kale
What about.
Kayl
You won't need anything for the baby swaddles.
Kale
Baby clothes. But. But I knew that. I just didn't have it written on there.
Kayl
Blankets.
Kale
I have the one that you got me in the hospital bag already.
Kayl
Okay. Bring your own blanket because you're gonna sleep on the couch while you're there. So you're gonna want your own pillow and blanket.
Kale
Oh, yeah. Own blanket for Becky.
Kayl
Snacks. Do not rely on the snacks at the hospital because either one, you won't be able to find them, or two, you're gonna. She's the only one that gets a meal in the hospital. Our hospital. We were able to door dash food too. So, like, I brought snacks, but I also for in betweens. But we also door dash.
Kale
We'll be able to doordash.
Kayl
But I would bring snacks because she's going to be hungry immediately following that birth.
Kale
She wants Larry's death subs.
Kayl
Okay, but bring snacks if you don't have that on the list. Okay. And then outside of that, I would say I can't think of anything else, honestly. Bring a wagon.
Kale
Oh, put everything in and bring it up.
Kayl
Unless you want to use like, a suitcase. Like a real suitcase.
Kale
A wagon.
Kayl
That's a great idea I brought so you don't have to do this. And it's up to you if you choose to. I didn't know what etiquette was prior to having Rio, so I never did nurses gifts because I didn't know. And I don't know if that came from, like, social media. I don't know. So until I had Rio and the twins, I brought gifts for all the nurses. Like, I put together little, like, things for them and I brought them in a wagon.
Kale
Okay.
Kayl
You could do like, chapsticks, water bottles.
Kale
Hair clips, if you're a nurse. What? A labor and delivery nurse and listening.
Kayl
What kind of gifts do you guys like?
Kale
What? Yeah, what was like, I'm gonna put. We should post that on our socials too, just to get it answered. Like, what was the best gift did you ever receive from someone on. Yeah, but what if the nurses aren't nice?
Kayl
I overdid it, probably with the twins. I was also in there for, like, three weeks because Valley was in the nicu. I overdid it. Didn't care who was mean to me. But, like, if you have a bad experience, I'm not giving nobody nothing, because what the. You just ruined my life. Like, you ruined this experience, like, overall. And that's. You're never gonna forget that. So that would be a no for me.
Kale
Okay. She said, okay, we forgot about this.
Kayl
What is it? It.
Kale
We were walking through the parking lot back to the car in the Christiana Mall, and this girl looked at us and looked. Well, not looked at us. I don't know. I said, I looked at Kale and goes, like, are you Kale? And I kept walking, and you, like, you, like, talked. And then she was like, oh, my God, my. My wife is obsessed with you or, like, watches you or whatever. And I heard my wife, and I just, like, turned around, and I said, gay. And she was like. And she was like, oh, my God, she's gonna be so upset. And then we kind of walked. And then I turned around, I was like, do you want to take a picture to send her? She go. And then she was like, yeah, wait, can I FaceTime her real quick? And I was like, hell, yeah, gays. And she FaceTimed her, and, like, it was just us in the. In the picture frame. And she was like, I was just watching you guys, like, this is so weird.
Kayl
And we forgot to say that you pulled a spider out of my hair yesterday.
Kale
I did.
Kayl
We were eating lunch outside, and there was a spider in my hair. And so calmly, she's like, you have a spider in your hair. Not, like, actively getting it out. But your reaction to it kept me calm, because if you would have freaked out, I would have freaked out, and then it would have babies in my head or something.
Kale
It was so tiny. It wasn't pregnant.
Kayl
You don't know that.
Kale
It was an infant. No, it was just a little baby.
Kayl
Just a little baby baby. Anyways, submit all of your stories.
Kale
Sorry, we're not reading one because we didn't know we were recording right now. Our producer is gonna kill us.
Kayl

Kayl
Of the worst person.
Stassi
I've had to explain to her that the fireplace grows so that Santa can fit in it. Now she's gonna be like, well, there is no fireplace and we're in this hotel and I'm gonna have to explain her.
Kayl
I don't know.
Stassi
He gets a hotel room key. Like, all these things that you have to come up with, it's just kind of crazy. Should I bring a whistle to wherever I go?
Alessandra
Do you think that that would be the thing to break the ice?
Kayl
Whistle.
Kale

Karma & Chaos with Kail Lowry & Becky Hayter – Episode: "Chaos in the Camper"
Release Date: May 6, 2025
In the "Chaos in the Camper" episode of Karma & Chaos with Kail Lowry & Becky Hayter, hosts Kail and Becky delve into the delightful chaos that ensues when friends reunite in a shared living space. This episode encapsulates their adventures in prom shopping, family bonding, navigating new living arrangements, and reflections on past relationships—all set against the backdrop of a cozy camper.
[01:17] Becky: "Welcome to another episode of Karma and Chaos. Today we're in the camper."
The episode kicks off with Becky visiting Kail for the weekend, taking advantage of Leah’s night shifts to spend quality time together. One of the primary activities they engage in is helping Isaac prepare for his prom. Becky arranges prom suit shopping, which initially poses a challenge due to limited time before the event.
[02:10] Kail: "She had to take Isaac prom shopping for a suit. Sounds like a terrible idea."
Despite initial reservations, the duo navigates through various stores, ultimately finding the perfect suits for Isaac. Kail shares her extensive experience, having purchased over a hundred suits, which proves invaluable in streamlining the selection process.
[04:22] Kail: "They have all the suits, tuxes, undershirts, shoes… everything we needed."
A notable moment arises when Becky confidently selects a cream-colored suit for herself, overcoming initial skepticism from Kail:
[05:02] Kail: "She put on that suit and it looked great. Loved it."
This collaboration not only ensures Isaac looks sharp but also strengthens the friends' bond through shared responsibilities.
After successfully outfitting Isaac, the friends head to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch, an "Isaac day" where Isaac chooses the outing activities. The meal is filled with laughter and playful interactions, particularly when Isaac captures a humorous moment on video.
[07:30] Becky: "We ordered everything off the appetizer list…"
Kail highlights the importance of enjoying these moments, especially with the kids engaged in activities like swimming, which adds to the weekend's joyful atmosphere.
Determined to continue their tradition, Kail and Becky set up to record the episode in the camper. They encounter technical challenges, such as limited microphone inputs and potential quality issues, but remain optimistic.
[18:14] Kail: "Things might be a little weird because all of our recording stuff is with Alessandra."
Their adaptability shines as they manage to produce the episode despite the less-than-ideal setup, showcasing their commitment to maintaining their podcast amidst life's unpredictabilities.
The conversation shifts to scheduling conflicts, notably when Becky’s baby shower overlaps with Isaac’s debate competition and prom. Becky candidly shares her frustration:
[19:15] Becky: "I was a huge flake. Isaac has a debate competition and prom the same day as her baby shower."
This overlap underscores the complexities of juggling multiple important life events, a recurring theme in their discussions about modern adulthood.
Kail opens up about her experiences with past relationships, highlighting a concerning trend of forgetting intimate moments:
[21:17] Becky: "I fall in love with people in a day."
This admission leads to a deeper exploration of how relationships are remembered—or forgotten. Becky's reflections reveal a nuanced perspective on love and memory, drawing listeners into a heartfelt dialogue about personal growth and emotional connections.
A significant portion of the episode is dedicated to Kail and Becky navigating the challenges of moving into a new house previously occupied by twin sisters, Pat and Gene. They discuss the emotional and logistical aspects of sorting through decades of belongings, emphasizing the importance of preserving meaningful items while letting go of the rest.
[33:36] Kail: "Their entire life was in our hands... It's just crazy."
This segment poignantly captures the intersection of new beginnings and the respect for past lives, resonating with anyone who has faced similar transitions.
Kail shares exciting news about meeting a family connected to her egg donor, highlighting the complexities and joys of modern parenthood. The conversation touches on the emotional significance of these connections and the anticipation of building new family bonds.
[47:34] Becky: "That's really nice. That's really cool."
Their openness about expanding their families and the support they offer each other provides a warm and relatable narrative for listeners navigating similar paths.
The hosts reflect on the difference between digital and physical memories, discussing how their children interact with digital footprints like photos and videos. This conversation underscores the evolving nature of memory preservation in the digital age.
[28:44] Avril: "They're pulling up digital footprints of their every move."
Kail emphasizes the importance of selective memory-keeping and the sentimental value of preserving digital memories for future generations.
As the episode wraps up, Kail and Becky share amusing anecdotes, such as Becky calmly removing a spider from Kail’s hair, showcasing their enduring friendship and ability to handle unexpected moments with humor and grace.
[55:47] Becky: "Your reaction kept me calm…"
Their final remarks are filled with warmth and anticipation for future episodes, reinforcing the show's theme of navigating life's chaos with friendship and laughter.
"Chaos in the Camper" masterfully blends the humorous and heartfelt moments of Kail and Becky's friendship. From the logistical challenges of prom shopping to the profound reflections on relationships and parenthood, the episode offers a rich tapestry of modern adulthood experiences. Listeners are left with a sense of camaraderie and the reassurance that amidst life's unpredictabilities, true friendship provides both support and joy.
