This weekend has been so event. Eventful because Becky came to visit. She got in super, super late on.

Thursday night because Leah works night shift for the next three nights. So she goes to work, comes homes and sleeps. So it was perfect timing for me to get away for a couple days.

You didn't move in?

[Kale]

Not again. Kale told me a couple weeks ago. And I came for two reasons. Kayl told me a couple weeks ago that she had to take Isaac prom shopping for a suit. And I said to myself, kale taking pro Isaac prom shopping for a suit sounds like a terrible idea.

[Kayl]

That's what you thought.

[Kale]

Like, not that you were taking, like, the idea of. It was great.

[Kayl]

Like me trying to do suit things. Yeah.

To buy a suit for him.

And so in my head I'm like, how can I make this work? How can I get there? And I had to come back here anyway before the baby came because we.

Yeah. So let me just set the scene for you. Kayl makes an appointment at Indochino.

No, I made an appointment at Nordstrom.

Indochino is the soup place in Nordstrom.

Oh, when you were saying that, I thought it was a different store.

No, Indochino is set up in Nordstrom. Those people worked for Indochino.

Oh, and I also had an appointment at Men's Warehouse.

[Kale]

That would have been fine. So she had an appointment. SAP at Indochino. For all of you guys that don't know. I don't know why you would. Maybe you do, because your husbands or your sons or whoever, your dads. I don't have one, but Indochino is a custom suit place. They're great. That's where I got Spencey's suit from. But it takes weeks.

Yeah, they said three weeks. And that was immediately out of the question because prom is in, like, 20 days, so we would not have been able to make that work.

[Kale]

No. And so I'm trying to. And she's like, okay, we just have to buy something off the shelf here. And I said, why don't we just go to another store? And you're like, we just can't go to another store. Let me. Let me tell you guys. I have. I've bought in over a hundred suits.

[Kayl]

In my life, which is amazing.

[Kale]

And so I'm like, just try. And she's like, we can't leave. Have them have. You know, have him. Have him look here. And I said, trust me. We're at the Christiana Mall. There's millions of stores there. I said, just trust me.

[Kayl]

I wasn't trusting.

[Kale]

She was not trusting.

No. Because I. Not that I didn't trust Becky with the suits, but I was like, we.

Are pressed for time.

So I was.

We just need to buy one here. If you've bought a suit before, you know, they have those, like, random suit shops that just have so many suits, right? They have tuxes. They have all different kinds of things. And, you know, they're under a couple hundred bucks. You can find one there for 100 bucks. It's really just great for events like proms or weddings or whatever it is that you need where you're not buying, like, a $500 suit, $600 suit for something that you're investing in for your. For the rest of your life.

We walk in, and they had everything that we needed.

Everything. They had suits, tux, undershirt, shoes, if we wanted to get shoes there, bow ties, belts.

And I was like, wow. This was. So Becky even picked out a suit.

For me for the Webby Awards.

I did. It was so sick. So I. I'm gonna become scale stylish. So I. I know what she likes.

But what's crazy is I never even showed suits picked out that I sent to Kristen for myself to send to the stylist.

Shout out to Ali. Love you so much. Sorry I didn't need you this time. Look what I picked out. Like, I was picking out suits to wear.

I know what you like. I picked out. I picked out this cream color suit, and she looked at me and said, absolutely. If you guys know anything about. She's such a dick. She'll be like. She was like, absolutely not. I'm not putting that on. I. I'm. I'm gonna blend in or I'm gonna. Blah, blah. It's not gonna look good.

I. The cream color of the jacket I felt like was going to clash with my skin.

I understood the concern, but I said first. I was like, try these pants on. And she was like, oh, really? I said, yeah, try these pants on. Pants looked great. Need to get taken in because her butt's too big so that the waist is always a little weird.

[Kayl]

Gapping.

[Kale]

Yeah. And then we looked at the, like, and then I brought this full suit over, and I was like, just trust me. Put this on. She said, no. I said, dude, you're pissing me off. Just put it on. She put it on.

[Kayl]

Loved it.

It looked great.

I said, I could see this in, like, you know when people wear shorts under, like.

I think I did. It was really cute. So that's what I'm gonna wear to the Webby Awards. I just have to send it to Lindsay so she can coordinate.

Looks so good. So Isaac wanted to wear all black Converse, so we went and grab all black Converse that Becky was wearing, which is so funny. And we got those. And then we went to lunch, and we had a really good time.

We had a great time.

We did. And it was so successful. And I. If it would have been just me and not Becky, we would have been to 12 different stores and still been.

[Kale]

Lost, and he wouldn't have gotten something that he wanted. You would have, like, been like, you have to pick something here.

[Kayl]

Right? Like, he would not have been happy because I wouldn't. Yeah. I mean, we would either have stayed at Nordstrom and picked something that he didn't love, or we would have been in 12 different stores, and it wouldn't have come together as seamlessly and cohesively as it did.

My eyes did get a little wet, though, when he was trying on suits.

[Kayl]

Yeah.

[Kale]

I was looking at him and I was like, wow, he is a young man. Like, he. He is a grown ass man.

[Kayl]

What's really nice about it is that he went in with the idea of one color, but he was open minded and picked. Ended up picking a different color.

[Kale]

Yeah. And he looked so good.

So good.

[Kale]

He looked so good and he was happy. Anytime I get time with Isaac is always a good time. So.

So after that, we went to lunch and then.

Okay, not only did we go to lunch, we went to. We went to the Cheesecake Factory. It was an Isaac day. So Isaac got to pick whatever we were doing.

He really loves their Mac and cheese balls.

They ordered like everything off the appetizer list. Took like a couple bites of everything because that brings a goal. Yeah. Everyone. They bring it home and feed everyone in the house when they get home. But I'm on a lettuce wrap kick, so that's what I got was lettuce wraps. Because the summer's around the corner.

[Kayl]

I loved your food. It was so good.

[Kale]

Oh, yeah, I did give you a bite. Isaac took a video of us walking. Walking. Because he went in to get a table and we went to park and he took a video of us and he was like, looks like a bunch of lesbians.

[Kayl]

I think he sent it to me. I'll send it. We had a lot of fun. And then we came back home. The kids went swimming in the pool.

[Kale]

I went in with Rio.

[Kayl]

Yeah, you did go in with Rio. Yeah. See, like this whole weekend was so fun. Rio had a good time in the pool. He was really excited about that. Lux and Creed went swimming and we just kind of were shooting the. In the, in the pool.

And what else did I do?

You picked up a big ass spider. It was like this big.

Not what I'm talking about. I got on the bikes.

Oh, my God. She is ripping and running through these. These neighbor. Not neighborhoods, these yards on the dirt bike and on the motorcycle.

I think it's probably like a. I don't want. I don't think it's a 50cc. It's a little bit bigger.

[Kayl]

I don't even know what that means. All I know is she was riding, but it ripped.

[Leah]

It rips around.

[Kayl]

And I was like, the dirt bike.

That's Lincoln's.

Yeah. I was.

I was zooming and I was like, you couldn't even pay me. I would eat so fast, like the way that I would. That puddle that you went through, like that, like, wet, marshy area. I would have hate.

He brought out his big Harley that. It's a big bike. It's a. A heavy, big bike.

I don't Even know what that means?

[Kale]

It's. It, it's huge. Text him, ask him how big that bike is. And he's like, you can take it. And I said okay. And I, I put a helmet on and I jumped on that thing and I ripped it down the road. Just do my lesbian. You know, it was a lot of.

Fun to watch you do it. I wouldn't do it because I grew.

He'll be like, no, get away from me. And. And so me and him are warming up to each other. We are. And we are friends. But he was. He was doing this thing. It was so cute. On the couch. And he'd point at me, and I'd be like, get her.

And he'd sprint across the couch and jump on me and start fighting me. And then he'd be laughing so hard. And then, you know, and then he'd be like, get off of me.

But he was, like, kidding.

Yeah, he was joking with me. But I just. Every moment I get with your kids, it makes me so excited to have my own. I do want to bring something up. Very problematic for me, though.

No. No help. No team help. I was like, I think that we could figure this out. So if there's any quality issues here, we got no one else to believe.

I'm blaming her because I just showed up, I looked at her and said, I'm glad you're into tech, because I would never be able to do this. I texted Alessandra and Kristen, and I said, can we plug two mics into this? And Alessandro said, unfortunately, no. I said, we figured out a way. We figured it out. We're hoping for the best, and that's it. I hope my laptop doesn't die before this episode is over. So we're gonna figure this out.

She has this thing on her phone, and it's like this, like, grippy thing, but it, like, moves.

Like, I can't, like, tell you a moment in time where, like, we had a moment together or something we did together at, like, at all.

I also don't remember those types of moments in my past relationships, but, like, I could tell you who I was in love with, and I remember how it was. Does that make sense?

Yeah. Like, I literally, like, this is gonna be really up. Like, Kim. I remember when she broke up with me and she, like, the, like. And a fight that we got. I don't remember anything past that. Casey. I remember, like, all the up she did to me.

Maria. Like, Maria, I look back and, like, I just remember our relationship being, like, healthy and really good. But, like, I don't remember any, like, moments of, like, which, like, I feel bad about. But.

So if your relationship with Maria was healthy and good, why did y'all break up?

Maria's a really good person. Like, her and Leah are very similar in, like, morals and values, and just, like, they're, like. They're completely different people for sure. But yeah. Just can't say anything. I'd like have nothing bad to say about her or our relationship.

Every single one of my exes was toxic. Not. Let me not say that. Not my exes was not talked or your relationship. Our relationships were all very, very toxic.

Yeah, I couldn't. I, I'm not kidding you. I was talking. I couldn't remember one of my ex's last names. And I was like. And I had, I, like, had to look for it. Like, it. I, I don't. My mind does. Maybe it's from microdosing and like, it like just blanked out. Like bad parts of my. I don't know.

It was crazy.

I don't. I, I. And I feel bad because obviously my relationships weren't all like, bad moments, but.

It was very similar to how my mom was growing up. Like when I would be sick to my stomach not knowing what I was going to get home to.

That's how all my relationships have been.

So Terrell was my first, like, boyfriend. We were together for, like, four months when he broke up with me. That was like, middle school, but, like, into high school. They dated this guy named John, and, like, he just would break up with me all the time. And then one time he just, like, on a whim, broke up with me, and I just was, like, it. You know how women are. Silent leavers. It was one of those things, like, every time you break up with me, I'm just, like, slowly just stepping away. Yeah. So the one time he did it, I ended up just never going back. He spent a year wearing I love Kailyn Lowry shirts to school. We were in the same homeroom in high school, but I had already started dating someone else. And he would wear these in the hallway.

Was this before Joe?

Yeah, and then that was into ninth grade. And then I was with Matt for on and off for two or three years. He and same thing, just very toxic. Always arguing, fighting, doing all the things. And then I was with Joe. Same thing, same thing.

Yeah. I hate that for you.

I mean, it's part of life. I wouldn't.

I just. I hate, like, toxic relationships just, like, they make me, like, sick because I've been in them. And, like, it makes me even. It makes me sick to think about.

I just thought all of your relationships were pretty healthy.

I don't know. I don't know. I'm just thankful for my love. You. Leah. She doesn't listen, but she listens to the clips. I'll like, be like, well, we have, like, tick tock time in bed at night. And she'll like, all of a sudden, I'll start hearing your voice or my voice, and she'll start giggling. It's. She's just seeing it for the first.

It was fine. It was cute. Someone commented on one of the Carmen cast tick tocks and said, you know, Becky, being so active on social really makes me love this podcast even more. Like, getting to know me and my life. And I could have cried because what a nice comment. Because I've been working really hard about being active on social.

Been doing mini vlogs. The mini vlogs are honestly more for me than they're for anyone else. Because I think about re watching those mini vlogs of me and Leah with our kids one day, and I'm like, this is gonna be so cute and.

Your kids will love it. My kids, when I go on my Snapchat and pull up memories, my kids love. This is so crazy, because if you really think about it, like, our parents were pulling out photo albums.

[Kale]

Yeah.

[Kayl]

We're pulling up digital footprints of their, you know, every move. Right. And so I pull up on Snapchat, I forgot that it had memories. So when I realized, oh, my gosh, every night, the kids are like, can we see that video? When. And then it's usually something completely different. But Creed loves seeing himself. Lux loves seeing himself. And sometimes I'll send them to our family group chat so that Lincoln and Isaac can have them. But I. They love it. They love looking at old videos and pictures.

It's been cool. It's been fun.

And it's been, like. It's been nice just being involved with people, too. I was hysterical. If you guys listen, you follow me. Oh. I have two things I want to definitely talk about on this episode before it gets too far. Time past.

Oh, first, Leah is fucking nesting.

Oh my God. First of all, the amount of stuff that Becky and Leah had in their garage attic where they had all their stuff, she sent me videos and pictures and the basement. What was all of that like? Do I need to make a plan to clean out my house before I die?

[Kale]

Yes. Okay, so this is gonna be very sad.

[Kayl]

Okay.

[Kale]

When we moved into our house, it was two twin sisters that lived there. They were twin sisters.

[Kayl]

Oh, I didn't know they were twins. Pat and Bobby. I gotta believe we were fraternal.

[Kale]

I don't know.

[Kayl]

Do they look the same?

[Kale]

Yeah.

[Kayl]

Oh, then they're identical. Okay, most likely.

[Kale]

So Pat adopted gene, like 20 years ago or whatever it was. Gene, like raised like they were raised together, like in whatever. So when we moved into the house, they don't. They'd never had kids, they never got married, so they don't have any family alive. And so their Entire house of stuff I boxed up. And that's what was above the garage was all their stuff. Because at the time, Pat was still alive. Gene moved her in with her. Him, and that's when we moved into the house. Well, Pap has since passed away, so.

[Kayl]

Did you meet them in person?

[Kale]

Yeah.

[Kayl]

Oh, wow.

[Kale]

Yeah. Bobby passed away, like, 10 years ago. I never met her. Okay, we're go doing another round of going through their stuff, like, throwing out stuff that, like, no one would want so that Gene can go through stuff he wants to keep. But, like, their lives end with us.

[Kayl]

Like, because they don't have any.

[Kale]

They didn't have kids, they didn't have family. Like, they have boxes and boxes of photos, and it's like, where do they go? Like, we can't keep them. Like, like, their lives literally end with us. Like, or with Gene. Right? Like. Like, I guess, Becks. I mean, yeah, for. For like a little pieces, but, like, they're like, we're not gonna tell stories about. About them because we didn't know that, like, them like, that either. Or like, Leah and I didn't. But it's just, like, crazy to think about, like, their entire life was in our hands. And, like, we just don't like out, like, their travel. They traveled the world all the time, so they had photo albums and photo albums. They had parties at their house all the time, so there's just photos. And like.

[Kayl]

Yeah, we're keeping what makes sense.

[Kale]

Yeah, we're keeping some of it, but we're not keeping 30 boxes of stuff, like, of old documents, like, of their entire life. It's just crazy. It's wild.

[Kayl]

How do you determine, like, what you keep? Because I think about what I. I don't keep anything. The only thing I keep is pictures because. But I have kids to. That would probably want them someday. But outside of that, I'm not keeping any. I'm not keeping furniture. I'm not keeping things. It's just pictures.

[Kale]

Yeah, I don't know. I don't. Like, we are giving stuff to Gene for him to decide. We're keeping a few photo albums of, like, the house, and there's pictures of.

[Kayl]

You know, his baby shower.

[Kale]

Leah's baby shower was at our house.

[Kayl]

And then her baby shower is at that house. Yeah.

[Kale]

And. And there's pictures of them walking their dog in the same place that we take our dog for a while.

[Kayl]

So you have to keep that.

[Kale]

Yeah, for sure. Yeah, we're keeping some stuff, but, like, they're. They're pictures traveling the world, like, we're not looking through these pictures with like knowing any of like, it's just weird.

[Kayl]

That's so. Because, like, what do you do with it?

[Kale]

Exactly. Exactly. Yeah. And like for us now everything is digital, so it's not as like, you know, even our childhood. Well, you don't have any.

I loved my grandparents so much. And I also loved my mom's grandmother, my nana, my great grandmother. Loved her so much. An angel on this earth.

Yeah. That's why, like, what you're doing now creates life. Like, people will always remember you, which is crazy.

Like, you as a person, like, you have such a digital footprint of like, and even like the businesses you're creating like that'll always be something that will be continuously passed down.

Like there's nothing else. But then what? Then what's in that garage? So if they can't get through that, burn it all. I don't even care. Just let it go. I remember going through my grandparents house with my uncle when my grandmother was in a home and my grandfather had died. And we went through everything and it was like the attic, the basement, the. Just everything because they had built that house from the ground up. And like, you know, there were. I didn't want anything but like pieces of furniture, which I. I do have two things from them, but I don't. And I actually really didn't think it was that much stuff. Now that I think about it.

Furniture is a weird thing to keep around. Really not weird, just like difficult.

[Kayl]

Like one was a bench and one was a ladder that was like a wooden ladder. And I'm still trying to figure out what to do with it because I plant plants. I saw a way to do it on the ceiling with plants. I still haven't figured out like a.

[Kale]

Not what I was gonna say.

[Kayl]

What were you gonna say? Pots and pans.

[Kale]

I was gonna say blankets.

[Kayl]

Oh, it's too, it's too long. I guess I could cut it, but then it's like.

What you have with Leah at your current home can never be replicated, replaced, redone, nothing. The location of the house, the character of the house. It has so much character. It has so much history. It has so much.

You can never replicate that.

No. And I'm trying to build my recording studio there.

Yeah. No, it's. I'm obsessed with it.

Yeah. I love it there. Every single time I. I open my eyes and I step outside, I. I say out loud, I love this house.

And you love your life.

Yeah, I do love my life.

Speaking of loving life, I spoke recently. Tacos Chicas moved in to the building that's near my house. Mohegan Farms is near my house. Don't stalk me. But they. It's like an outdoor. It's a food place, and Tacos Chicas is a local food thing that moved there. And so I had the most interesting conversation with the owner of it. And she was just speaking. She has three kids. She's from. So from California. She's also an egg donor. She's donated her egg. But we were. And we were just talking about parenthood. And she said something that, you know, she never tells her kids that, like, she's proud of them. She always says, like, tells them that they should be proud of themselves. And it has adjusted every single part of my mind. It was so funny because I sent something about business to Natasha, Leah's best friend, and she said, you should be so proud of yourself. And she was like, sorry. Leah told me about the conversation. That felt weird. And I was like. That actually felt so good. Like, I was like, yeah, I am proud of.

[Kayl]

But I think you should do. I do both.

[Kale]

Yeah.

[Kayl]

I'm so proud of you. You should be so proud of yourself. Yeah, like, something like that.

[Kale]

So it's not like that. It's not. They're just looking for that. I'm proud. Validation. Like, the validation comes from themselves and just switching those to, like. I was like, wow. Yeah, I'm gonna use that all the time.

[Kayl]

I think Isaac sent me something I posted on my story.

Oh, my God, Mom.

[Kayl]

Oh, my God. I did so good on my science test. I even got an extra credit points. Extra credit points. I'm so happy. And I said. Then I said once. He said, I'm so happy. I said, I'm so proud of you.

[Kale]

Yeah.

[Kayl]

Because he acknowledged it already. Like, he should be so proud of himself. Because the day before this, he literally was like, I have a science test. I don't think I'm going to do well, blah, blah, blah. And so he should be so proud of himself. Yourself.

[Kale]

Yeah. So I'm Taking that and moving that forward with.

[Kayl]

But do you could do both?

[Kale]

Yeah, for sure. But just like I've never heard that before. Like I've just never heard it like consciously said in that way. Like oh, like you should like are you like asking like are you proud of yourself? Like you should be so proud of yourself.

[Kayl]

Yeah, I love that.

Just altering that mindset like where you're.

Not looking for outside validation. You're validating yourself. Yeah, I love that.

We were able to door dash food too. So, like, I brought snacks, but I also for in betweens. But we also door dash.

We'll be able to doordash.

But I would bring snacks because she's going to be hungry immediately following that birth.

Okay, but bring snacks if you don't have that on the list. Okay. And then outside of that, I would say I can't think of anything else, honestly. Bring a wagon.

That's a great idea I brought so you don't have to do this. And it's up to you if you choose to. I didn't know what etiquette was prior to having Rio, so I never did nurses gifts because I didn't know. And I don't know if that came from, like, social media. I don't know. So until I had Rio and the twins, I brought gifts for all the nurses. Like, I put together little, like, things for them and I brought them in a wagon.

Hair clips, if you're a nurse. What? A labor and delivery nurse and listening.

I overdid it, probably with the twins. I was also in there for, like, three weeks because Valley was in the nicu. I overdid it. Didn't care who was mean to me. But, like, if you have a bad experience, I'm not giving nobody nothing, because what the. You just ruined my life. Like, you ruined this experience, like, overall. And that's. You're never gonna forget that. So that would be a no for me.

We were walking through the parking lot back to the car in the Christiana Mall, and this girl looked at us and looked. Well, not looked at us. I don't know. My wife is obsessed with you or, like, watches you or whatever. And I heard my wife, and I just, like, turned around, and I said, gay. And she was like. And she was like, oh, my God, she's gonna be so upset. And then we kind of walked. And then I turned around, I was like, do you want to take a picture to send her? She go. And then she was like, yeah, wait, can I FaceTime her real quick? And I was like, hell, yeah, gays. And she FaceTimed her, and, like, it was just us in the. In the picture frame. And she was like, I was just watching you guys, like, this is so weird.

And we forgot to say that you pulled a spider out of my hair yesterday.

We were eating lunch outside, and there was a spider in my hair. And so calmly, she's like, you have a spider in your hair. Not, like, actively getting it out. But your reaction to it kept me calm, because if you would have freaked out, I would have freaked out, and then it would have babies in my head or something.

It was so tiny. It wasn't pregnant.
