A
Foreign.
B
Good morning, good evening, good day, good night. It's been forever.
A
It's been a really long time. And we have so much to catch up on that I don't even know if we're gonna get to anything, like, exciting because we have to catch each.
B
Other up on everything first and foremost. I just want everyone to know that. Just to remind you how fake social media is. Not that it. Fake social media is, but like, I have been depressy. Okay. Like, yeah, I'm not gonna cry. I'm not gonna have a sob story this episode because I'm really feeling like I need a pick me up. But these past couple of weeks, I feel like I've had a layer of cement on my body.
A
Like, feeling heavy, you mean?
B
Yeah, just like life feels heavy. Like things feel. I'm like surviving, not thriving, you know?
A
No, you know what? I've never felt something truer to my soul. I would so much agree with you.
B
Yeah.
A
It's very jealous, though, of your getting away to Florida for so long because. How long were you there for?
B
I was there for a week. But even in Florida, like, I didn't feel like I could enjoy myself because I just felt like I had a cloud over me.
A
Interesting.
B
Like, yeah. Like it was like, you know, I. I think I need to do another cycle, like microdosing cycle or something really. Just to boost my morale.
A
You know what? I'm with you.
B
Maybe it's. Maybe it's just like the time of year. Maybe it's. I don't, I don't know.
A
I would agree with you though. I think it's like holiday grief. The. It's supposed to be like a happy time of year. And it just feels like politically speaking, the climate, the economy.
B
Yeah.
A
Deaths. Just like all kinds of things feel like very heavy. So I would agree with you there.
B
Yeah. So I'm just setting the stage. If you're out there, if you're listening and you are feeling heavy, depressy, sad about a lot of it is probably because I've been not taking care of my body too, which fucking sucks. You're not alone.
A
Yeah, agree.
B
Don't, don't listen to this episode. And we're about to go start giggling and talking and think, oh, wow, so nice to hear that they're happy and thriving in life. That's not the case. All right.
A
We're putting on a show for y' all right now. Because it is. I, I wholeheartedly. I actually just got off the phone with my ex husband and we were talking about spring Sports for Lincoln and what that looks like. And it was a productive conversation, but it was also, again, one of those. It's just heavy because of, you know.
B
Yeah.
A
He doesn't live in the state anymore. And I know how much that hurts Lincoln. And I don't know, like, it just every. Every little thing that would normally just be like a regular occurrence feels heavier. And speaking of that, Influenza A has ripped through my entire household. And it started with the babies at school and then Elijah. Obviously he doesn't live with me, but Elijah had it. My pseudo dad had it. I had it. Now Lux and Creed are home with flu.
B
A Merry Christmas to all. How are. Are they okay, though? Or is it like, you know, Bex? I, like, I don't think I'm going to be well when he has his first, like, real illness. It's so sad seeing kids, like, unable.
A
To, like, you know, they're just like, miserable and then. Yeah, you know, as, as like parents and caregivers just in general, like, we want to, like, help them and comfort them and just seeing them absolutely miserable is awful. And then lack of sleep on our end, so then it makes it hard to get through those days because we're so deprived. If you're checking on your kids throughout the night and have to give, you know, Motrin and Thail all around the clock, like, it's just not a fun time. The good news of this is that my kids are going to come do a drive. The dream drive that they did with you guys with you last year. It'll either be me or someone else bringing them, depending on who has what going on. So that's really exciting. The kids, specifically Lincoln and Elliot did a, like a give back situation last year with Becky, and I guess your friend, like, runs it. And so they asked me, like, they asked me, can they do it again? So I was really excited about that. And then originally Becky and I were gonna go see the house made together when it comes out, but I have to be in Virginia to take Lincoln to Javi. And that in and of itself has been really, really challenging for me because obviously I'm doing it for Lincoln. And it's something that sometimes happens with split households. But it has been, I would say one of the more challenging things for me this year is making sure that Lincoln gets to his dad on time because the halfway point is a two and a half hour drive for me. And then I literally drop him off. It takes 30 seconds and I have to. And it's nowhere near anything else. And I have to turn around and come back another two and a half hours. And so in the school district my kids are at right now, they have three day weekends every single month. And so every three day weekend goes to Javi. And so at least once, sometimes twice a month, I'm doing the five hour round trip twice because obviously to get them there, but then also to meet him halfway. And especially during this time of year when there is in service days, holidays, school events for the holidays, like there's a winter program coming up, there was, you know, a Thanksgiving feast and you know, a Halloween pray, all of these things. It's like fitting in. Two five hour round trips in my days has been really heavy as well.
B
I mean it sounds heavy. That's. That's a long time to be in a car.
A
Yeah. And it's usually it's twice because I have to get them there and then I have to get them back. And then, and then on top of it, it's like we also have sports. So it's, it's not just. And by when I say that I mean, you know, we're in the car so much is what I'm trying to get at. But that feels really heavy.
B
What grade is Lincoln in?
A
6.
B
I can't. I'm so bad at like aligning age with grades. Yeah. I mean I didn't want to bring this up quite yet.
A
Oh no.
B
But I think that we may have to get in a ring and fight because you talk about these five hour drives, right. You talk about audiobook wrecks all the time on your social medias and you can't just bite the bullet. You can't just.
A
I have a, I have a drive coming up this weekend. I'll just bite the bullet. I don't want to because I think what is happening for me is that my TBR is so long for books. I actually want to read that. Putting this 24 or 25 hour book audio that I could listen to three books in those 25 hours for one book stresses me out. Like it stresses me out.
B
I don't care.
A
I don't care. I will tell you what though. I.
B
And I read your book for you.
A
You did? But the commitment also needs to be considered. The, the commitment. But to be fair, because there are so many five hour drives, I. You know what I'll do? I'll compromise with you.
B
Okay.
A
Okay. I will download 4th Wing and I will listen to it. I'm not going to read it. I will listen to it and I will use those five hour chunks of time for 4th WI wing specifically and then all my other driving time because I typically listen to one between one and three audiobooks a month because I am. I do prefer physical or Kindle over audio but I do audio because it also counts towards reading goals. So I will dedicate the five. It might take me two months to get through it though.
B
That's fine.
A
Okay, so my five hours like I would have, I'll have we'll say 10 hours this weekend to dedicate because it's. I have two five hour trips so it might take me a little bit but I would say I might be able to finish by the end of the year.
B
Yeah, I think you will. And.
A
Or by January I should say.
B
I have a follow up question to the audiobooks but I want to make sure that there wasn't anything more. I didn't mean to change the topic. I just don't know if there was anything more to discuss beyond like valid of frustration of you having to drive five hours like if you want it to continue in that conversation.
A
No, no, I, I try. It's, it's, it's difficult. It's a, it's a loaded question because I, I don't love talking about my kids dads and I don't mean. That's not what I'm trying to do. Yeah, I don't love talking about them. Despite how much they may or may not come up. I don't love talking about them. I just, that is the reality of where I'm at in my life.
B
It's a lot. Yeah. And it's valid.
A
I, and it's no disrespect or anything to anyone. I just, it's something that I'm doing right now that is very challenging in my life and it has caused some challenges and conflicts in my schedules. Tricky situation. So that's all. But no, it's fine if you change the subject. I don't really care if you change the subject.
B
No, I did change it and I just wanted to make sure that yeah listening weren't thinking I was being inconsiderate. It was just relevant because I like automatically think like oh you could be listening to the fourth wing.
A
But you know, I loved your response to my audio book recommend rec question box on Instagram you said something about like you're going to piss me off or you're starting to piss me off.
That is like. Because if you were serious like which I don't know if you are at this point but like no, that's what I say to my kids when they're like starting to be. I'm like, you're gonna. I don't want to get pissed off. Like you're pissing me off, you know.
B
Yeah, for sure.
A

The second question is with the audiobooks. It's so funny. So I listen to my audiobooks on like 1.7 speed psychotic. What do you listen to? Do you just listen at one or you. No.
A
Like one and a half.
B
Yeah. So one and a half sometimes one point. It depends.
A
I just started audiobook. Oh, sorry. No, I'm lying. 1.25. Okay, so it's like only a little bit sped up.
B
Yeah. Which I feel like is normal. I just, I have to have it fast. I don't. That's just how I listen. But it's so funny because now when I edit, like for the haters, when I edit my podcast episodes, I listen back to it at one regular speed or a little bit. I normally speed it up, honestly, to listen back to it, but when it's at normal speed, it feels like I'm. It's. I'm a slug. Like, it's like. And I'm like. But because I listen to so many audiobooks at such fast speeds, anything I hear normal speed, I'm like, what is going on? It's like slowed. It feels like it's slowed down.
A
I also, the last thing I want to, for me to say on the book topic, because I know it's not everyone's favorite, is that there is a new and I hope I didn't say this anywhere else, but there is allegedly a new.
Barnes and Noble CEO who is sort of the. The idea that the CEO is having is to sort of tailor each Barnes and Noble to its location. So for example, if the one by you is more of like people that are like, you know, there might be like a bar at that one or like, you know, like a little place to like do a date or something like that. Because BookTok has truly taken over and I think that that is such a good idea for a franchise like Barnes and Noble is to like to tailor it very specifically to the demographic. I think that's really cool.
B
Yeah. Like have a section of it. Like obviously not the full like places that are more in kid friendly places. There might be like a playground there for kids to. That is a good idea.
A
Whoever. I would have to do more research into it. It was just like a quick article that like popped up. I didn't go. I like skimmed it. But I want to know who it is because that is so genius. I feel, and I feel like most stores should do that. Like they should consider doing that.
B
Yeah. I don't know if a bar. I think you just said bar because of me. It's not, not my area. But I was thinking like farm. I don't even know. What book are you, what book are you on now?
A
I'm reading the physical copy of 10 Year Affair. I downloaded the Mad Wife on my Kindle. I have not started that yet. And then I'm listening to the Correspondent.
But I.
B
But Friday I saw you post something about. You had like top suggestions and atmosphere I think was on there.
A
It's so good. I already read it.
B
It's so Leah's reading it right now and she like loves it.
A
It's so good. It's literally so, so, so good. Anything by Taylor Jenkins Reid is so good to me.
B
I don't know who that is, but I'm listening to.
A
That's one of my top three favorite books of all time. And I don't know, I don't remember what the audio. I read the physical copy. I mean if I listened to any of it, I can't remember.
If I could reread that book for the first time, I would.
B
I think I'm like halfway through.
But I'm listening to it with Leah, so I don't. I'm not getting through it as fast as I'd like to.
A
Oh, I love that you're like listening with someone. I think that's awesome. I surely we haven't Talked since I did parent teacher conference for all the children that, like, are.
B
Yeah.
A
And I just want to say Lux's ADHD is being managed very well. His grades have definitely improved since he started his ADHD meds. Creed's first parent teacher conference for kindergarten. Because we had the parent teacher conferences in pre K, but they're obviously, they don't. They're not the same as, like, kindergarten. The teachers absolutely raved about him.
B
And it's like, driving, right? Like, he's like, yes, yeah.
A
Just doing so well. And that's really cool. And also, Lux is becoming so much more confident in his Spanish. And I know I've talked about before the Spanish immersion has done. It has been so great for our family. And the nanny that I have.
Eight to four, Monday through Friday, she doesn't speak any English. And when Lux got home from his dad's this week.
Siomata would asked him a question, and he responded in only Spanish. And then she came and got me and was like. He respond, like, told me. And I was. You could tell he was so proud of himself. But it's really working, so that's been exciting.
And then Elliot had a play.
B
I think you were Romeo and Juliet.
A
Yep, he did his play. And then we went to see Wicked.
B
How was it?
A
I am not a wicked girly. And I thought it was really cute to the point that I cried with the flying monkeys. And I said I wanted to get a flying monkey tattooed on me for Wicked, but everyone told me that I can't get a monkey tattooed on me, so I'll maybe do like, a wand or something instead. But it was just because the flying monkey that in the. I don't want to give away spoilers.
B
Yeah, I didn't see yet. Don't give it away.
A
So I wanted that specific monkey tattooed on me. And my friend was like, no, Kayl, you can't. And I said, okay, so I'll just do something else.
B
They probably know better than I do.
A
Oh, absolutely. So I'm taking exactly what she said.
B
And going with it. I.
Miss your kids more than I miss most people.
And so anytime you text me, the little. Like when you text me and the little ones call me Ducky.
A
Ducky.
B
It is. It, like, melts my heart.
A
Ducky. And it's funny because they'll see a picture, like, even if it's like, just a little picture on the, like, pinned conversations. Because only my pinned conversations in my text have pictures. The rest of them, I took them off if they even see that. Oh, Ducky. I'm like, yeah, it's Ducky.
B
Yeah, I. I literally am obsessed with them. Any other life. I haven't talked to you in so long.
A
No, but it's like, it feels more genuine this way. Not genuine. It feels more authentic when we can catch up in real time.
B
Yeah. So, people, you guys get an inside to what our friendship is, because we'll, like, text, and then we'll cut it off because it's like, we can't about this until we talk on the podcast.
A
Yeah.
B
I have so many topics in my podcast because we haven't talked in so long. I have enough topics for probably the next three months. Like, that's how. How much I have, like, listed in my thing. Isn't that crazy?
A
No, I love that. That's so exciting because I. I had a lot, and then it's like, obviously we haven't talked in so long that I'm like, okay, but we have to catch up first. Only last update that I think I have is that killer sports technically broke ground. And so that's exciting. And so what started as an idea, literally, on this podcast, but outside of that, no real updates. But tell me your updates. You went to Florida for Thanksgiving. You were there for a week. All the pictures of Bex. You guys are doing such a good job with him. He is literally the cutest, happiest little chunk of monk baby that I've ever seen. And I, like, every time. And you exude happiness. And, like, you have, I don't know, I'm hoping, turned over a new leaf. Like, with.
B
Yeah. Yeah.
A
It's like, it literally shows.
B
Yeah. My relationship with him has definitely changed. Like, I love that. Like, but, like, he's also changed. Like, he loves me, and I know he loves me, and so that, like, makes it easier. And, like, Leonard are just, like, doing a. Like, a really good job with him. But we have a really easy baby. Like, that is. That has made a world of a difference for us. Like, Bex does not cry unless he's hungry or tired. Like, and, you know, you can console him in those ways. Like, he. He's happy all the time. Like, he's literally a happy kid. And, like, that I am not blind to. Like, we are privileged for that. So it makes loving him so much easier because, like, he just smiles at you, like, when you see him.
A
No, I. I have had happy babies and. And. And. And a very difficult baby. And I.
Can honestly say that, like, as a mom of multiples, like, that will make a huge difference because it just makes it easier to sort of adjust the child to your lifestyle versus the other way around. For sure, when you have a super difficult and obviously like there are things that people can't control, like if there's disability or special needs or anything like that, obviously you know, you've been blessed with with a healthy boy and that also helps. But having a difficult child where you can't go places or it's more of a stress to everybody for them to take with. I've had both ends of the spectrum on that. And I mean Becks and you guys do a really good job at tag teaming on everything. And so having a supportive partner in motherhood and parenthood and all of that is honestly a game changer too.
I want to look and feel my best, but I'm getting older and my hair, skin and nails are getting drabby. Plus my joints aren't cutting as smoothly. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this. B
Talked about the flights. I was nervous about him flying.
He was great on the plane. Like didn't. On the way home he was a little tired and like we were reaching that like he needs to go to sleep kind of thing. But had no meltdowns. Like he's in his yelling phase like a dinosaur, you know, like he just yells all the time. It's not crying, it's not like paint like it's. He just like is yelling. So he did that a little bit. But so many people came up to us and complimented like us and him like on the flight. This woman came up to us like at the baggage claim. We had met her at the bar at like 6am before we got on the flight there. And she was like, like, he's going to live such a good life. And we were like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
But I also like when you sort of integrate your baby into the things that you're gonna like you're gonna take the baby regardless. Like I definitely think that makes such a big difference. Like I can't bring the triplets Anywhere. And unfortunately, because they all came so quickly, it's not gonna be like, Elliot, Lincoln, and Lux. Like, yeah, when I tell y', all, Lux went every where with me to flying Atlanta every week, L.A. like, to everywhere. He's just so. He'll do anything. You know what I mean? But then you have, like, some difficult kids in there, and it's like, they're not gonna come with.
B
Yeah, I. And a lot of my friends have kids, so I see, like, the. The varying spectrum of, like, how kids are. It was so, like, out. It was so nice to meet Alex's kid, too, like, to be around her and like, to be around them. That was so much fun how your.
A
Niece, just for anyone who hasn't caught up yet, you. Your sister had a baby around the same time. What is the age difference between Vex and your niece?
B
They're three months apart.
A
Oh, okay. And all right, first of all, I just filmed a video yesterday about meeting my niece and, like, falling in love with her. Did you fall in love with your niece as soon as you met her? For sure. Do you think it's like, like, instinctual, or do you think it's.
B
No, I think it's like, you have so much love first. Like, that's how I feel about your kids too, though, right? Like, you have so much love for someone that, like, it pours so much into, like, their children as well.
A
I don't know, like, an extension of the adult that you love. You also, for sure. But then you. Have you ever had a friend that you think their kid is an. Yeah. And like, you love them, but you don't necessarily.
B
They're just an. I. I think I have friends that are. I think I have acquaintances. I know that, like, aren't the best parents, but, like, what do I know too? But, like, also, I don't know. Speaking like. Well, there's a million topics I want to talk about with that. But, like, they're like, I. I don't. I can't get behind, like, kids being disrespectful in, like, such an aggressive way. Like, in a disrespectful to them too, so. But again, I don't have a kid that talks yet. So, like, I don't know what I'll let him get away with or not. I have such a bone to pick. And I know you are not. I'm not picking a bone with you.
A
You are not.
B
You are not much of a TV kind of gal, but, like, people on the Internet, on people that let their kids watch TV and I think that it is so rude. I think about all the time. Me and Bex will. I'll put on Ms. Rachel for sometimes, like, after his first nap in the morning. And, like, he loves it. He's learning stuff. And, like, people on the Internet are like, oh, that's like lazy parenting. Like, you're just letting the. She can do it better than I can. Like, I'm not a child educator, and I have no interest in being a child educator. Like, why would I try to rep. Like, we're watching it together. We're hanging out. Like, he's learning songs and being happy. Like, why would I take that away from him if that's some. Like, I don't know.
A
What's so funny about this is that, like, when I get asked about screen time.
I don't think of tv. When I think of screen time, I think of, like, phones and iPads, which my kids don't have.
When I, when people. Oh, how do you feel about screen time? I don't. Don't give a. What other people do with their kids. But to me, I think if you. If. If you're neuro. And I'm speaking about neurotypical children, your neurotypical children has an iPad or a phone in front of their face all the time, that is lazy parenting, in my opinion. But if you're.
B
I don't. I don't know, because I'm not there yet, but I would agree right now with you on that.
A
But I also, like, with that being said, I also don't give a. Do you know what I'm saying? Like, if that is the style that you're choosing for your family, I don't give a.
B
If that's what's getting.
A
You know what?
B
I don't agree. Because if that is what is making you survive as a person to be alive, to be there for your kid, do whatever the.
A
No. Occasionally. Occasionally. Okay, fine. But no, because.
B
True.
A
Because these are the same parents that don't want to admit that the reason why your kid is melting down.
Is because of that you're.
B
You're struggling on a screen all the time. I don't think it's good for anyone to be on a screen all the time. So I like. I don't think it's good for a kid to be on the screen.
A
But with that being said, my kids have pretty much unlimited access to television, but we're so busy all the time that to me, I don't really care because they're not really sitting down and watching TV much anyway. Like, they really don't. So I don't put any limitations on the actual tv, and I don't group that with screen time. Yes, I understand that people are gonna come at my neck for that, but that is what works for us. My kids don't abuse, like, actual TV screen time. And I don't give my kids iPads. They've had them in the past. I let them die one time after Mexico, and we never looked back. And I never, like, my three babies would not even know what to do with an iPad. And they're three and two.
B
Yeah, I. I don't think I'll intro. I. I don't know. I don't think we'll do iPads. I don't have an iPad. So, like, it's like, you know, I'm not. I'm also not like, a.
On a device all the time, so. But I will say, I love Ms. Rachel.
A
I do, too. I love this Rachel. And I don't.
B
Again, I put on Franklin for. I like Google search, like, low stimulation, like, shows just so that we could, like, he. Like to give him his bottle. We laying there, and I was like, let me put on some Franklin. And we just chilled.
A
Like, I heard somewhere through someone or whatever.
Shows like Coco Melon versus Ms. Rachel, they do have different impacts on small children. Someone. I don't remember the exact verbiage, but it was like, something along the lines of, like, cocomelon. The little character, jj, he doesn't speak. Speak. So kids were, like, mimicking that and also not speaking. But then you have, like.
What did you just call it? Low stimulating. Yeah, like, Ms. Rachel, where she's, like, actually singing, talking, pronunciation. And I'm gonna reiterate it. I know I've said it on other podcasts before. If you are. If you love Ms. Rachel, if your child loves Ms. Rachel, there is a Spanish woman who does the same thing for Spanish. It's called Spanish for minis, and her name is Ms. Naina, and she does the same sort of vibes as Ms. Rachel, but in Spanish. And so that could be a great option if you want to alternate between English and Spanish.
B
I didn't know that. I am going to add that in.
A
Oh, my God. And Ms. Naina is so cute. And she does not get the hype she deserves because she is so cute. She's just so cute. And, like, literally the same thing, but in Spanish. Yeah.
B
So all that to say everything's okay over here.
A
Just heavy right now. Okay.
B
Yeah. I'm almost done with my new podcast studio. And Office. That's coming out really good. I have film content on it, so I'll be posting that. I sent Kale pictures. I think she liked it. So did you like it of the Office?
A
Yeah, yeah, I loved it. I told you that.
B
Well, I needed a response here.
A
Also, I just got this picture from the baby's school.
B
Oh, I can't.
A
That's not Elijah's whole face.
B
Yeah.
I need your opinion on one thing. But speaking of screen time, how cool is it? This is my first year being back after a full year. How cool is the Spotify raft? And, like, us being on people's Spotify wrapped.
A
I just think it's so cool.
B
I think it's so cool.
A
Like, we're part of people's listening. Like, listening hours. Listening.
B
Yeah.
A
That is so fascinating.
B
I think it's so freaking cool. Like. Like, it started popping up and I was like, wow. Wow, this makes me happy. This is so cool. Yeah.
A
And I know you can't see it, but our Signal awards came in, like, our trophies, so I have two of yours here. They're very, very heavy, so I'm not going to mail them. Otherwise it would probably cost an arm and a leg. But I have them here in the box with everything for you. We got two of them. One for the LGBTQ+ category and one for the buddy podcast category. And those are Karma and Chaos's first awards. So those will be going to you soon.
B
Thank you, everyone, for listening and supporting. We love you guys.
A
Becky and I are thrilled to collaborate with O Positive. I've been talking about Hope Positive for forever, and I just want to remind you that these are women's health products. They are available on Target and Amazon, but the Eurovaginal Probiotics is one of the top five supplements on Amazon, and they have multiple number one products in Target for intimate care, PMS and menopause. Oh. Positive is a women's health company and they're helping us with all of the symptoms that we struggle with. Okay, we all know sex, tight clothing, sweat from working out, hormones, periods, all of these things can disrupt vaginal health and lead to an imbalance in vaginal flora and ph, causing unhealthy vaginal odor and taste. And I don't know about anyone else, but that would affect how I perform in bed. I don't want my intimate moments to be clouded by a weird smell or taste like that. That's going to really throw everybody off. And all you have to do is take two capsules a day. And Euro delivers noticeable benefits within Eight weeks. Some people may even see results sooner. And if you don't believe me, go read all of their reviews. I promise you, it'll be so worth it for you if you are struggling with any of these things. And you guys can take proactive care of your health too, and head to oh positive.com karma or enter karma at checkout for 25% off your first order. That's O P O S I T I V.com/karma for 25% off.
B
Did you know that I used to drive?
A
I don't ever know where you're going with this.
B
There was a time in life where I was like, this is when, like, Ubers just started. I was like, oh, I could be an Uber driver. And I started driving Uber.
This.
I think it's when I lived in.
Why are you looking at me like that?
A
I.
Could not imagine you being an Uber driver. And, like, did you film these interactions? Because that would have been an amazing series.
B
No, but I was thinking about it. Like, should I start driving Uber again? Like, would that be fun or. No, no.
A
No, it wouldn't be fun.
B
Like, I feel like I could, like, really just smooth talk my way into getting good tips, you know?
A
Oh, no doubt. Like, you would make bank. But it's just the thought of where you live and where I live trying to be Uber drivers in these locations. I mean, if you don't like the person that you have, you're like, if they don't want a quiet appointment or a quiet drive.
B
Yeah.
A
And they're willing to talk, like, that's a long ride.
B
It is a long ride. Yeah.
A
Maybe it's not like the city where you're driving them three blocks because it's raining. It's like, you're like. To me, I would have to drive someone 25 to 30 minutes to get to Walmart. I could not imagine if someone tried talking to me during that time.
B
I mean, you couldn't Uber drive.
A
If we Uber. Uber drive drove, we would have to film that together.
B
We could do, like, a game show in the Uber.
A
Yeah. Like, what is the. Who is the. The guy that does.
No, Cash Cab's a good one, but. No, it's the guy, the host that always has celebrities in his karaoke car. Or car.
B
Yeah, he got canceled, I'm pretty sure.
A
Oh, why? What'd he do?
B
I forget, but he got canceled.
A
Well, damn him.
B
Have you seen him the past couple years?
A
I think the. The video.
B
What's his name?
A
Conan?
B
No, Gordon.
A
Gordon Ramsay.
B
James Gordon.
A
James Gordon or Cordon James Gordon. I gotta look it up. James.
Gordon. That is literally not him. Car karaoke. Oh, carpool karaoke. James Corden. Okay, so let me click news. I don't know if he was canceled. Let us know if James Corden was canceled. I would love to know. So you were an Uber driver. Like, you actually were. For how long did this go on?
B
Oh, it was a restaurant incident. Something happened in a restaurant. Anyway.
I think I only did it for a couple rides, but, like, what.
A
Did you say to Leah and what was her reaction?
B
You were like, I wasn't with Leah. It was before Leah. Because I was in Philly. I don't even know who I was with.
A
How did I not know this then? Because that was before.
B
No, and it's so weird because I have such a bad memory. And, like, I was ordering UberEats and all of a sudden I was like, wow, damn. I remember I drove Uber for a couple rides.
A
And, like, what was. Do you have any horror stories?
B
No, I have nothing. I just remembered it and I was like, oh, that. I wanted to bring that up because I, like, have such a bad memory. And Leah laughs at me all the time because we'll, like, pass somewhere and I'll be like, oh, I worked there. And she's like, you literally say that about everywhere. I'm like, yeah, because I work. Worked. I. I worked so many different jobs. Like, different restaurants, different. Like.
A
Anyway, did you work at a ski resort?
B
I worked at a restaurant next to.
A
A ski resort, and I came to visit you there.
Maybe, and Gigi kept sending the food back or something.
B
Oh, yes. Wait, yeah. You were in the back. Yeah, because I was with Kim at.
A
The time, and we went to go eat, and I remember.
B
I remember that, but I don't remember. Like, I remember it that.
A
Because you said it.
But, like, I can't remember why she kept sending the food back.
B
And that's so she wanted it off the bill too.
A
And I'm not that type of person. Like, I will not eat something, order something else, not say anything, and I'll pay for both. I don't give a. Yeah, I'm not about to. With someone's, like, that's like, up, you know? Especially if, like, your job knows that, you know, the table. You're like, I don't know. It was just such a weird.
B
I can't believe you remember that.
A
I remember really weird, because I also. My memory sucks, but I remember the weirdest things.
B
That was so strange.
Next topic.
A
Did you take your meds today?
B
I don't Take medicine. My contact is screwed up, though.
A
Basic.
B
I want to know what your thoughts are on people recording themselves doing good deeds.
A
This is hit or miss for me because on one hand I think that it's really beneficial for us to see other people doing it so that it inspires us to do it. And I think that, that so often we can be influenced by over consumption of things or whatever. And so if we replaced the over consumption and the influencing to buy, buy, buy, buy, buy, and more people are posting good deeds, it would inspire and I say that because I follow a couple who restocks their. And they were doing this before the SNAP benefits were taken away, before all of this. They were restocking the local like, pant, like little pantry box thing. They were already doing that before the SNAP benefits were taken away and things like that. And so I had never even thought about doing that. Like, I just, it never crossed my mind. I've never really looked for them. I've never really seen them until I started seeing those videos and then I started to see where are my local ones? What can I do? What can I put in my egg stand? Things like that.
But on the flip side of it, I know that there are people who.
And does it really matter if they have bad and like, if their intentions are for views, if their intentions are for attention, if they're doing the good deed, does it really matter what their intention is?
B
I agree. I, I, I don't care if it's performative. Like if you're, if doing a good deed like, or if you're doing like, I don't care.
A
I'm gonna use, I'm gonna use James Charles as an example because he's highly controversial. I don't know much about him. I'm not here to create the public opinion or, or like talk about it. He does the, he's been doing the angel tree thing.
B
Yeah, I've been seeing that. Yeah.
A
And like, if he's doing it for likes, if he's doing it out of the kindness of his heart, I don't know, I don't care. I know that he's, he's highly controversial. He's done very questionable things. At the end of the day, he's fulfilling children's Christmas lists. So I think both can be true. You can be a shitty person and still do good things the same way a good person can do shitty things. So if it's performative and someone's kid is having a great Christmas, I don't give a.
B
The only time that I find it to be like, wrong is because I feel like there's some people that, like, it's fake. Like, the thing is fake that they're doing where, like, someone might win something or someone might get money or someone might get this and like, they actually don't follow through with it. Like, the whole scenario is just fake. Fake in a malicious way. Right. Because I saw someone online that was making fun of a girl. Like, she set up her camera at the end of a trail and like, pretended that she was on a trail run and then didn't actually do the trail run. But, like, there's no.
A
Wait, what is your take on that? Because Lindsay and I just talked about it and I think we can leave it in this episode too, because I want to hear your take on it.
B
If there is no, like, malicious act of it where you're not promoting something, like, ill intently or what the. Does it matter?
A
That one I think is tricky and I'm going to tell you why I think that it's tricky.
B
Okay.
A
From the video of the person who actually did the trail, she said that it was used to sell. Well, she didn't say it in these exact words, but essentially it was used to promote the outfit that she was trying to sell. And I think that that is tacky.
B
Yeah, but like, what is it? What anyone.
A
No, it didn't hurt anyone. It. It. But it is like, okay, you could literally just take a picture of the outfit in front of your mirror. You literally don't have to go pretend that you ran a trail.
B
Doesn't hurt anyone. The, like, literally. And models that are being sold on advertisement, they're not actually doing the ax either. You're being sold things. It's the same thing.
A
Okay, but. Okay, but where is the line then? I see that to me is different.
B
Like, if she was trying to sell a workout equipment or like, trying to say, like, try to sell a gel or a food that, like, oh, I just went on this 10 mile hike and this kept me.
Like, fueled for it.
A
Performative good deeds and performative. Like, like, like, like fluff. False advertisement.
B
But what is she. False advertising.
A
I'm not saying she was guilty of false advertisement. I just think that there is a line, okay, we're talking about a shitty person performatively fulfilling a person's Christmas list versus someone pretending to work out. This is sort of like what you're describing to me is like, like, and please don't come at my neck for this. This is a personal opinion of Kayl Lowery. And I'm not saying that anyone else has to adopt this feeling. Okay. Is like, have you ever met someone like you? You are naturally a strong person. Right. If you didn't go to the gym for an entire five years, you're still going to be strong. Period, point blank.
B
Yes.
A
For you to turn around and now promote this strength training video when you know that that is solely genetics. Shame.
B
Yeah. Yeah. That's rude.
A
So. And that's to me, her performatively or questionably trying to sell this as if she's. I don't know, because I didn't see the creator.
B
If it was shoes, that would be different. Like, if she was like, these shoes lasted me the whole hike, that would be different.
A
Okay.
B
If she's like, oh, I love my new outfit. And it's just the background of a trail. Like, what the. Does it matter?
A
Okay. I could see you. You've kind of. Now I gotta go update Lindsay on coffee combos and tell her I have different feelings now.
B
I haven't talked to Lindsay in so long. How's she doing?
A
Lindsay's. Lindsay's great. Lindsay's. She's a good time.
Great.

B
Speaking of performative, it's been so we're like, behind on trends because it's been so long since we've talked about. But. And I don't know if you've talked about this on your other podcast, but the lady. The lady calling churches to ask for formula.
A
No, I don't think we talked about that on coffee combos.
B
Wild. Like, that whole scenario was wild, right? Like, if you guys are the drug.
A
Dealers that were like, here and like, giving money to like, literally no questions asked, drug dealers from the fucking street are making sure these, these babies are fed. Like, illegal activity, but the babies are fed.
B
It was like. And we're not gonna get too detailed, but like, what a wild. Like, like, what is it called when you trial or test things?
A
Turn of events? No.
B
Like when you're, like when you're doing surveying or like, like you're. What the. My brain just doesn't work anymore. God damn it. Anyway.
Crazy. Like, the results were wild. Like it was. I think tax the churches. Anyway.
Let me see what else I got on here for you today. Oh, this was such a. Another good tick tock that I saw. There was this guy on tick tock or it was. It was a girl and a guy. It was a couple. And he set up a fake graduation photos. So like, he. His girlfriend thought she was taking graduation photos, but in reality it was a. For like a proposal and the photographer was in on it. So, like, he did it so that she had a reason to get dressed and get ready and like, look presentable. So she thought she was. She thought she was going to her graduation photos. They were on their way and the photographer called her and was like, I'm so sorry, I have to cancel. And like, this whole like, no, but it was a part of the plan. Like, she was canceling for the graduation so that he could take her to propose. This girl was so kind and gentle with the photographer canceling. And she, like, her friends came over in the morning to, like, get ready with her for, like, her graduation photos. And she was like, no matter what, I had a great time this morning. Like that, like, it was like, it doesn't matter because, like, I. I got to spend time with the people I care about. And it was so, so beautiful that, like, she took what could have been like this disappointment of. Of like something like a plan being ruined. And she saw the good in the day. And like, the comments were like, this is why he's marrying her. Like, what?
A
It.
B
Like, it was just so freaking beautiful. And like, it was. Yeah. It was such a good reminder of trying to see the positives in the day.
A
No, that is. I'm not that type of person. Like, once something bad happens, like, just forget about it.
B
Yeah.
A
But it's so funny because that's what I try to teach my kids. Like, especially for Elliot or like, because he's a teenager now, so I'll be like, oh, look at the positive or whatever. And it's like, sometimes you have to lead by example. I'm not that person. But that is truly why he's marrying her. But, yeah, speaking of. Because that's emotional. But speaking of that, this morning I was on Scrolling on Tick Tock and.
It was an emotional roller coaster. It's like, you never know what you're gonna get on Tick Tock. You're laughing one second and then crying. It's a blessing and a curse. One of the things that I came across this morning on Tick Tock, what had me rolling and it's. I don't know if I'm even allowed to laugh at this stuff, but here we are. Because it's like, you know, like, it's just controversial. Like, should we be laughing? Should we not? And it was sometimes you, you know, it's like sometimes you have to read so and so's text and go, yeah.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
This one was sometimes you just have to read your brother's elementary school soldier letter and move on with your day. And it's just funny because, like, as someone who's a former. Former military wife, I know that at hobbyist deployment, and I know they're not all like this, but that specific deployment was not for war. Right. Like, it was. Was him doing his regular job in another location. And so it wasn't like combat.
B
Yeah.
A
And so. But it was still probably very difficult nonetheless because you miss your family, you miss birthdays, whatever. This one says. You're a soldier. My name is Donovan, and I want to give you a Happy Valentine's card because you'll probably never get to see your family again. So I want to let you know that I care. And I start just, like, rolling, right. And then I go to the comic comments.
B
Yeah.
A
And.
Once said, my husband got one on deployment a few years back that said, quote, thank you for your sacrifice and sorry for dying for our sins.
And then one said, I'm a veteran and used to receive tons of these on deployments. I've seen one telling me they hoped I grew new legs. I still. Couple of legs like, this is, like, what people say as a teacher. One of my favorites that I copied and framed said, merry Christmas. Sorry your life sucks so much that you wanted to die for me. I'm just seven. I'll tell the mall Santa to send you socks or something.
B
These sound like. Like, could you. What do you think your kids would write?
A
No, because I literally looked at Lincoln and I said that. That. I said, what would luck say to these people?
B
Yeah.
A
What did you say? I'm gonna ask him when I get home today. I'm gonna say, hey, could you write a merry Christmas card to some soldiers overseas? And then I will. I will follow up with you on what he says.
B
You should follow up with me on what he says, but also you should send the letter.
A
No, I absolutely will. Like, I don't know who I need to contact for an address, but I.
B
Absolutely will let Creed do it, too.
A
Creed will probably. I don't even. Creed's actually more unhinged than I thought.
B
Let. Let them do it and let me know.
A
I'll tell you what. While we're waiting for an is a karma, there is a chaos. I need to tell you something, and this is a transparency situation.
Everyone. I get a lot of questions about how do I do it? How do I do it? How do I do it? Right? With seven kids, all the sports, all the things. My car today, December 4, is the nastiest thing I've ever seen in a long time. It's the nastiest it's ever been in a really long time.
B
Are you telling that to me or to the people of karma and kids?
A
Everybody. So if you're wondering how I do it, I'm barely hanging on right now.
B
Because I think you need a sprinter van.
A
Okay, I got the. Is it part karma? Oh, this is a longy. Okay. Hi, everyone. I'm wondering if this situation is karma or just chaos. Coffee chaos. So it was my birthday last week. As you may know. You get a free Starbucks drink on your birthday. My birthday was on a Tuesday, so it's a regular working day for me. I didn't take off the day because we had plans to celebrate with a long weekend Friday to Sunday. Anyway, I got up and was getting in the shower like normal, and I was thinking about how I'm going to plan my day around my free drink from Starbucks since it's not my usual routine. I wanted to also get a breakfast sandwich and a cake pop for my birthday lol. My plan was to go before work so I could get it all eat and drink it at once. I got to work. I have a one and a half year old daughter so mornings are usually chaotic and I don't get the chance to eat or drink coffee until I get to work. Anyway, I got out of the shower and my husband had doordashed me Starbucks. So now it's 7am I still have to get ready and leave by 7:30 to get to work by 8. While the gesture is nice, I was planning my morning around my Starbucks and now in order to get my free drink I'll need to get Starbucks twice in one day. I guess I'm not too mad about that part. He didn't get me anything to eat with my coffee though so I had to stop somewhere to get something to eat. Also I'm not going to drink it until I eat because I get jittery so I have to wait until I get to work to have it. Now I stopped to get something to eat on my way to work. I'm able to eat and drink once I get to work. Had to reheat the coffee. Then I planned on going to Target for my lunch for some groceries and decided to get my free drink. I can't have my regular milk because I'm lactose intolerant. When I get to Starbucks and Target to order my birthday drink I see they have have holiday drinks out. I love the gingerbread chai one. I also love that one. I haven't been to Starbucks in a long time and since my free drink I get a large add three shots of espresso in it and while I was getting my app loaded to redeem the drink I forgot to ask for oat milk. I usually get the brown sugar shaken one with the oat milk as the default so I'm not used to specifying. I'm so happy I got my large birthday coffee and got to my car and realized I forgot to ask for oatmeal milk. I wasn't about to go back in and ask them to remake it because I would feel bad for doing that and I needed to get back to work. Is it karma that I forgot to ask for oat milk because I wasn't grateful for my Starbucks my husband got me in the morning or is it just coffee chaos? I drink the coffee and took lactate by the way so I was able to enjoy it just had a. Just sort of had a stomach. A stomachache for my birthday. Karma, Coffee. Chaos.
B
Karma. That's karma. The whole time I'm like, wow, why aren't you being more grateful? Like, that's such a kind, thoughtful gesture.
A
I think we. Stop it. That is so dramatic.
B
It's not. That's literally what I was thinking the whole time. I didn't know where the story was going.
A
I'm like, wow, she was gonna herself. I think it should have been weird.
B
About, like, her husband. Like. Like the act itself is nice. Like, don't drink it. Like, if it was never a part of your plan, then don't. Like. But, like, at least acknowledge that it was nice.
A
Like a nice.
B
And then she. No, it. That was karma.
A
You're being dramatic.
B
I'm not being dramatic. That was pure karma.
A
Listen, it was chaos. And I don't. It's truly.
B
I think this is the first one we disagree on.
A
I think it was chaos. You think it was karma? First time disagreeing on it. Is it karma or is it chaos? And on that note, I love you. And I love you.
B
And I love everyone listening.
A
I also love everyone listening.
B
Someone posted in the.
Group chat, in the Facebook group that I was very attractive and that made my day. So did you see that?
A
No.
B
Double downing on my support for you all.
A
Yes. Well, I will update you on my attempt to start fourth wing on Friday, December 5th. Oh, my God, that's tomorrow. And I'm scared.
B

In this candid, laughter-filled episode, Kail and Becky reconnect after a long hiatus, embracing the "depressy era" that defines their current mental state. They get real about mental health, the heaviness of modern adulthood, parenting struggles, and friendship dynamics. Humor, honest reflection, and a bit of chaos set the tone as the duo trade life updates, weigh in on pop culture pressures, and try to find pieces of joy amidst the messiness of adulting.
On Feeling Down:
Becky: “These past couple weeks, I feel like I’ve had a layer of cement on my body.” [00:24]
Kail: “Every little thing that would normally just be like a regular occurrence feels heavier.” [02:53]
On Books and Friendship:
Becky (teasing): “You talk about audiobook recs all the time… you can’t just bite the bullet?” [06:41]
Kail: “It might take me two months to get through [Fourth Wing] though.” [08:22]
On Parenting Difficult Kids:
Kail: “I have had happy babies and… a very difficult baby. As a mom of multiples… that will make a huge difference, because it just makes it easier to adjust the child to your lifestyle versus the other way around.” [23:04]
On Social Media vs. Reality:
Kail: “We’re putting on a show for y’all right now.” [02:31]
On Screen Time and Parenting Shame:
Becky: “She can do it better than I can. I’m not a child educator, and I have no interest in being a child educator.” [30:44]
Kail: “With that being said, my kids have pretty much unlimited access to television, but we’re so busy all the time… I don’t put any limitations on TV, and I don’t group that with screen time.” [32:54]
On Performative Good Deeds:
Kail: “If it’s performative and someone’s kid is having a great Christmas, I don’t give a.” [46:13]
Becky: “If you’re doing a good deed… or if you’re doing… I don’t care.” [45:48]
On Podcast Community:
Becky: “We love you guys.” [37:22]
Kail: “That is so fascinating… we’re part of people’s listening hours.” [36:38]
On Listener Story Disagreement:
Becky: “That was pure karma.” [62:29]
Kail: “I think it was chaos… First time disagreeing on it.” [62:40]
This episode mixes heavy, real-life struggles with moments of levity, demonstrating Kail and Becky’s commitment to honesty and friendship—in all its imperfect, giggle-in-the-dark glory. Listeners are reminded that, beneath social media’s sheen, everyone feels the weight sometimes and that sometimes, the only way to make it through is with radical authenticity (and maybe a good audiobook for the drive).
