Real with Jillian Michaels.
Jillian Michaels
Jillian Michaels all right, you sexy beasts, this is actually going to be my last hot take and here's why. Because the podcast has just been doing so darn well, it's been taking off that it doesn't really leave me a ton of time to focus on these short but sweet outlines on hot topics. So here's the plan. I will absolutely continue to provide you with what I believe to be the most well rounded, because I was going to say best information, but I'm working on getting differing points of view to provide you with all the information, even when I don't agree with it, so that you can make your own decisions about it. So I will continue to provide you with the most comprehensive amount of information from the most varied panel of experts in mental and physical health, PhDs and MDs. And we'll still continue to do all the things, discuss all the cutting edge research that's out there, look at the differing studies, talk about the fad diets, talk about new medical treatments to cure diseases and heal injuries, and we'll have all different people, as mentioned, with all different points of view. And you won't always have to listen to a two hour show if you don't feel like it. Because just like YouTube allows, we will take these big shows and we'll break them up into bite sized bits so you can focus and drill down on the hot take of the topic. So if we do a two hour show on stem cells and exosomes and peptides and you're like, oh my God, this is way too long, I just want to hear about BPC 157. I want to know about that peptide. We'll chop the episode up and it'll be out there for you so you can find your own hot take in the long form show and there'll be a hell of a lot more out there for you. For that reason right now I want to leave you with this thought as we approach the New year. So you're going to take this month off, I know it. And you're going to do your thing and that's fine. And then when January 2025 comes around, you're probably going to be refocused, re energized, ready to rock and roll. And I want to be there for you in that I tend to be the thing that I am going to change and I want you guys to really consider this change and implementing it in your life as well. I really hate the infighting within my industry and I've been a Little bit guilty of it. I'm not going to lie. I see things that really annoy me, like don't eat plants. And I just, God, it's hard for me to even say out loud right now. But the thing is, and I'll give you a perfect example, there are plenty of great people out there and they have differing points of view, but they're not bad people. And there might be something that you can glean from their take. And while I may not agree with it and they may not agree with me, maybe that discussion alone will provide you with something you need. I'm going to have Dr. Ken Berry on the show to talk about the carnivore diet in the coming year. You guys know I didn't like keto, so you're going to know I really don't like this. I don't think we need this much animal protein, this much saturated fat. I'm a monster sized believer in fiber. Like, I don't agree with this diet. I don't have a problem with meat either, good quality meat. But my point is I don't like the extremes and I have a foundation for making this decision. But the last thing I'm going to do is go after Dr. Kinberry, who happened to think he's a great guy, really well intentioned, incredibly intelligent. I've learned a lot from him in other areas. Instead, I'm going to have him on and I'm going to tell him what I don't like about the diet. He'll tell me where he disagrees with me, and you can make your own frigging decision about it. But there's so much of this infighting in the community. It's like Dr. Rhonda Patrick's getting attacked by this PhD and then Dr. Lane Norton's attacking that MD. Then that MD comes back and he attacks Dr. Lane Norton. Then Gary Breck is going after this guy and Dave Asprey is going after that guy and everybody's going after that. And again, I have been guilty of it because misinformation in the health space is kind of annoying and sometimes it can be kind of harmful. But my goal is again to tell you, hey, look, you know, I don't think you should be having a pat of butter in the morning. These are the things you need to research if you do. But Dave Asprey, should I have him on in the future? What is your position on this? So I'm not going to blindly provide you with information. I'll try to give you the most well rounded approach. So again you can make your own decisions. But the infighting within the health industry has become a massive distraction. It just has. I'm going to always tell you like be careful, you know, when you go to CrossFit, make sure you're not over training. Make sure you have a really experienced coach. If you do go to CrossFit, can you find a coach that has a degree in exercise science because it's such an advanced modality of Fitness. But CrossFit is not the enemy. Friggin Taco Bell is the enemy. You know, Dr. Camberian, his carnivore diet, that would never be the enemy. The enemy is General Mills. It's you know, processed poisonous food. It's drug companies that try to put 6 year olds on Ozempic or advocate that gender confused kids should go on off label cancer drugs. And by the way, I'm willing to have that conversation and I intend to expand upon both of those arguments in the coming year. However, there is no question that people are putting after profit by these big corporations. They don't have good intentions. The bottom line is their intention, not the health and wellness of human beings. So that would be enemy number one. Public enemy number one is corporate greed and teaching you guys how to identify it, how to disseminate it. And again, I don't want to live in a world without modern medicine. Don't get me wrong. I mean that's the great irony is there are plenty of drugs that are life saving. I would say, you know, you guys know that. Good lord. I'm going to have this debate with the Nadalsky brothers who are huge proponents of GLP1 drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, Tirzepatide, you can get me, I don't think it should be the first line of defense, maybe the second. But you can get me to cave on giving people who are morbidly obese with advanced disease, type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease, heart disease, GLP1s, you will never ever get me to agree that it's the right thing for a six year old. And I'll tell you all the wrong reasons why. But going into this new year I want you to know that I am focused on platforming differing opinions, not my own. You'll hear my own, you'll hear my bias. I'll always disclose my bias. And the infighting amongst good people about minutia has got to stop. It's got to stop. We need to unite and we need to go after the bad guys that exploit human health and well being. For profit, so I'm going to leave you with this one. I hope you enjoyed December's long form shows. Don't forget to go over to YouTube, comment like subscribe. It's always free and the lineup for January is bananas. Thanks so much for being a listener guys. I really appreciate it.
