Scotty
Michaela spiritual family. Welcome to know your Aura with mystic Michaela. Today, live life like a yellow aura. We are doing a little series over here on know your aura podcast where we talk about the life hacks, life advice, and life inspiration from each aura color. Now on episode 309, we did our first installment of the series, live life like a purple aura. And today is yellow. And because I'm purple, I can't tell you when the next episode's going to be or which aura color it's going to be about, but here we are. Today is yellow. But first, hey, Scotty.
Michaela
Hey, guys. And I and I just want to tell the turquoises. Yeah, eventually there will be one that covers turquoise.
Scotty
Oh, yes.
Michaela
So we will not forget you. You might be last. Probably you're gonna be last. So what do you got another six colors to go before we get to you? And who knows how many episodes? Cause Mr. McHale just tells us we don't know how many episodes that's gonna
Scotty
be because if I commit to it, it won't happen. That is my purple problem. But Scott and I are not yellow auras.
Michaela
No, we're not.
Scotty
So of course we have reached out to the wonderful, beautiful, perfect mystic Michaela spiritual family over on the Facebook group. And that thread was. Was divine. Like, you want to change your life? Go read the yellow aura advice thread over there.
Michaela
Right? All right. Now, we've talked about yellows many, many times on this show.
Scotty
Yes.
Michaela
But let's just go yellow 101. Give us the basics of what's a yellow.
Scotty
Yellow auras are curious, self improvement, focused, organized individuals who love to learn, who find joy in. In the challenge of creating systems that make life flow and work better. They find organizing and moving things around and doing that, they find it aesthetically pleasing. They find it peaceful. They find it something that brings them comfort. I have a yellow aura. My stylist, my hairdresser, she's yellow aura. And she tells me her favorite thing in the whole world is when everyone leaves the house and she can deep clean. She puts on her music and she just goes after the baseboards. And I'm like, wow, that's not like I can't relate to that. But that is yellow aura behavior. And yellow auras usually have. They're not organized in every single facet of their life. Like sometimes I see yellow auras. They concentrate their organization on social, like their social calendars really together. But some their pantries really together, you know, or in some they have their spreadsheets totally worked out. With all their bills and stuff on the computer. So it really. It might be some place that you're yellow, even if other places you're not. If you are a yellow aura, if that makes sense.
Michaela
Okay, so now let's say there's someone like you.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
Who's purple and indigo.
Scotty
Yes.
Michaela
But if you listen to this podcast, you know, you get yourself around an airport travel day.
Scotty
Oh, yes.
Michaela
Some yellow might pop into your aura just a bit. Okay, so how do we. And I assume that's enough. We call that GSD Yellow. Inauthentic Yellow. I don't know what you call that, but inauthentic.
Scotty
Yes.
Michaela
So how do you know if you're an authentic yellow or you're just kind of wearing yellow inauthentically?
Scotty
And I did an episode about. We call them GSD auras. Get stuff done auras episode 254. I highly recommend you listening to that. Yeah. Because there's a difference. If you're wearing an inauthentic yellow aura or a GSD aura. The difference between being authentically yellow and just wearing that color to get you through something is that you're gonna feel anxiety, stress, exhaustion, and a distance from yourself as you're wearing it, if that makes sense. And also, it's usually put on you or it's something that you gather around yourself when you're doing something that's truly not joy inducing to you. It's more like something you have to. I just have to, like, suffer through this or I just gotta, like, plow through. Or I just gotta put on my big girl pants and just get it done. That is a feeling that's separate from yellow auras who on the daily have this type of organization and this type of flow worked into their life already where they don't feel. Feel anxious by it. Now we all have moments. Like, yellow auras can lean too much on their yellow, by the way, and then they can feel everything I just said. But it's just that it's the consistency factor. How consistent do you act this way and do you usually act this way in situate? Only in situations where you have to go deal with the 3D physical world that has systems in place that really don't align to you. But, you know, you have to deal with it. Like the DMV or like I, when I just registered my kid middle school, and I brought every single bill that I could think of, plus my passport to the school office.
Michaela
Right.
Scotty
Because I'm like, I don't know, knowing me, I'll forget something so I'm bringing everything, you know, like that.
Michaela
Yeah, I saw a little yellow emanating off of you.
Scotty
Oh, it comes off. Yeah. It definitely shows up in these moments.
Michaela
But I guess it worked because you were the most organized person there.
Scotty
I was.
Michaela
And you're purple.
Scotty
Indigo.
Michaela
Yeah.
Scotty
Because, you know, I get stuff done.
Michaela
Right.
Scotty
You. You know, and the difference between, like, inauthentic auras and get stuff done auras is that, like, I feel like when you have a GSD aura, it's. You've graduated.
Michaela
The books get all the books out. Book confirmations and the readings and all that. And I know when I'm talking to a yellow.
Scotty
Oh, yeah.
Michaela
It's like so. So evident right away immediately. Yeah. Like, if, you know, if I get, let's say, a big book. I just had a big. We had a decent sized book order, and it was with a yellow. I knew the person was yellow.
Scotty
So.
Michaela
Okay, I'll do this. We could get this done. Right. Because they had everyone's picture with their name, what book they wanted. Everything was just laid out so labeled, and it was so easy to do.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
You get a purple with a big book order and you might have a problem.
Scotty
Yeah, they're like, I gave you four
Michaela
pictures, three of the labels exactly the same. Like, you're wondering, is that that person? Wait, no, it's that person. There's no name on them.
Scotty
I know.
Michaela
They're like, you specifically.
Scotty
Specifically say no sunglasses. They're all in sunglasses, right? Yeah.
Michaela
They've listed, like, three books that they want, but you're not. Is it. What. What's my aura? Is it Book of signs?
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
Psychic Workbook. Which book do they want for this person?
Scotty
Yes.
Michaela
It could be a disaster.
Scotty
Well, and as a purple myself, I notice when I'm doing something I'm not familiar with, I do it all upside down, you know, and so I. We definitely love dealing with people that aren't yellow, obviously. But you can tell, like, when I'm reading somebody, like, let's say I'm in the middle of a reading, like a phone reading. This happens. Yeah, this happens all the time. And they forgot to include a picture of their dog, but their dog is, like, talking to him. Like, do you have a dog? Yeah, I have a dog. Like, your dog's talking to me. Do you have a photo? Because I need photos to, like, really do my best work. And if it's a yellow aura, all of a sudden, like, a photo just pops up on my phone or my email and I'm like, oh, wow. I Don't even know how they did that. I'm like, thanks. Okay, but if it's like a purple, I don't mean to pick on purples. They're so easy to pick on. Sorry, guys. But if it's like a purple, I can say it because I'm purple. They're like, oh yeah. And they're like scrolling. I can't find the right. Oh, what's your number? You know, and so you know the difference in that too.
Michaela
Look, you know the difference. When they call for the reading, okay, a yellow is going to call. They call like two minutes before the time. Like the time is 11:25, 11:23. That phone rings a purple. It could be 11:28. You don't know, it could be the next day. Oh, I didn't know.
Scotty
You're like, oh. Immediately I'm like, do you not know the time zone? I. I'll email them. I'm like, hey, baby, like the time zone. They're like, all the time zone. It's like, it's okay, right? So just little things like that, which I myself, I call them Meggie steaks because like I make them all the time.
Michaela
I call them Mickey Steaks.
Scotty
But. But yes, but today is about the yellows.
Michaela
Yes, we need to get life inspiration from the yellow auras. We're gonna take a quick break. When we come back, we're gonna consult our group, all the yellows in our group, to find out this info.
Scotty

Michaela
Hey, guys. All right, so you put up a post asking the yellows for, you know, advice. Done.
Scotty
Yes.
Michaela
That seems like the overall theme. Do you think that was kind of what you got?
Scotty
I noticed with yellows, they like to be on top of things, but I also notice with yellows, when they are leaning too much on their yellow, they feel like if they can't do something perfect, they won't do it at all.
Michaela
Yeah.
Scotty
And then they can kind of actually go backwards or get paralyzed in their processes. I notice that a lot with yellows, and I feel like a lot of this advice actually goes into like, nope, stay on top of it so you don't do that thing.
Michaela
Okay.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
All right, let's see what you have.
Scotty
All right, so my first one's from Leah. And this one got so many upvotes, so I had to pick this one. Do yourself quote tomorrow favors example, Set your coffee pot for tomorrow morning so all you have to do is hit brew when you wake up. Make your kids lunch the night before so there's no scrambling in the morning. Pick out tomorrow's outfit for you and your kids. When I look at laundry that needs to be put away, I think, let me do myself a favor. I'll appreciate tomorrow by doing it today. I always thank myself for my tomorrow favors. Makes for a smoother morning and day for all. And I love that. Yeah, I think that that's great advice. It's like, be nice. Be your. Be your tomorrow self best friend.
Michaela
Right. And I actually picked one that's similar. Tessa does the same thing. She said, prepare for the morning, the night before. Coffee has a mug in place. The beans are ready. Lunchbox are open and pre filled with perishables. Breakfast plates are preset. Clothes are laid out. That's a lot. Car keys by the door.
Scotty
That's a lot.
Michaela
Here's my disclaimer for the yellows and I think as we go through these.
Scotty
Right. Yes.
Michaela
These are all fantastic ideas.
Scotty
They are.
Michaela
They're great.
Scotty
It's a great idea.
Michaela
And, you know, when I. When actually I left the house to go to work, I would actually do. Do some of these things.
Scotty
Okay.
Michaela
But that was only because I wanted to sleep longer in the morning. Well, yeah, but I used to do. I used to put, like, the outfit. I was like, the biggest thing for me.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
Was to pick out the outfit I was gonna wear right. To work the next day. I hated doing that in the morning.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
Half asleep. I couldn't think of it.
Scotty
You know, iron a shirt in the morning, like, things like that.
Michaela
Right. And it would take forever. I'd be like, if I didn't have an outfit picked out the night before, before, it would take me like, 15 minutes to figure it out. But, yeah, if I had it out the night before, it saved me like, 15 minutes.
Scotty
Yes.
Michaela
So yellows, they come up with great ideas.
Scotty
That is a great idea.
Michaela
The only problem is sometimes as, I guess as a red and maybe you as a purple.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
You get rebellious against these ideas.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
And it's like, I kind of want to just, like, scurry around for my keys.
Scotty
Right.
Michaela
20 minutes.
Scotty
But I like her thought that. Yeah, I like that. I like these two thoughts where it's like, instead of getting rebellious, be like, hey, I have to be my own friend. Like, what would I even do for a friend? I'd make sure that their day was efficient and happy and comfortable. So it's kind of like looking. Maybe it's not. And this is like, more from your empath color, probably from your yellow aura. It's like, how can I be my friend tomorrow? So I guess, like, if you do get stuck in the rebelliousness, which I sure do. It's like, wait a second. Let's be nice to the me tomorrow who's gonna wake up and tired. I get that.
Michaela
All right.
Scotty
All right. So Elisa, she said, I'm going to say I really love this, and I'm going to do this. This is why I chose this yellows advice. I'm going to say the thing that we yellows have a hard time saying, and I'm ready for the down votes. Sometimes we need help. During these rare occasions, I make bigger to do lists with a marker, tape the list up where the whole family can see, and we complete. Complete the tasks together. I loved this because, like, before a trip, like, we just went, you know, to Buffalo, and, you know, I have to. I like to have the house because I want to be my friend when I get back and the house is clean. So, like, I'm kind of clean. I think I have to do everything myself.
Michaela
Right.
Scotty
But if I put that list up. And then she went on in the comments to say that everyone helps and they'll just check it off themselves. It's kind of like this natural, like, family thing. Like, bring the family into it. Like, let.
Michaela
Just. Cause it's the easiest to do.
Scotty
Sorry, purples.
Michaela
It could be any color, but we'll just say purple. The purple. Let's say the dish, you know, with the dishes.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
The purple might leave it for the next day or two hours later or whatever. Three hours later. The yellow is telling you, once you finish that meal.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
You get it done.
Scotty
Right. Right. Just get it done now.
Michaela
Right. So there's a lot of. That's a common theme with.
Scotty
That is a common theme.
Michaela
Get it done. We have. We have a version of that, too, which you're saying she has, like, a board and she loves the list. Our thing is every, like, few months, we just all freak out. Like, all right. Everybody's going to start doing things, and all of a sudden you see, like, the kids, you know, mopping.
Scotty
And we had.
Michaela
Cleaning the baseboards.
Scotty
It's true. We had a baseboard day. They were disgusting.
Michaela
It's not planned. It's just, like, one day we look around and we look at each other and we're like, all right, let's go.
Scotty
This is nasty.
Michaela
We're like, everybody on board.
Scotty
Like, I only am able to see dirt, like, maybe once every several months. And I'm like, oh, my God. I think we're supposed to be cleaning the doors.
Michaela
Right.
Scotty
And we haven't been.
Michaela
Once we get to that point, hopefully it's not today.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
But once we get to the point that we're just like. We are all hands on deck. Let's go.
Scotty
Yeah. Like, they probably think we're insane because they're just living their little kid life. And we're like, get downstairs.
Michaela
For two months and 29 days, nothing happened. But then that day, we're just like, okay, all right.
Scotty
All right. What do you got?
Michaela
Oh, it's my turn. Okay. All right. I have Annalisa, and she's for time blocking.
Scotty
Oh, this is interesting.
Michaela
Set your day up in chunks.
Scotty
Okay.
Michaela
Okay. So she has it down 5 to 6am get up. Exercise, shower and coffee.
Scotty
Okay.
Michaela
All right. Well. Right, there's a problem. I'm not getting up at 5.
Scotty
Well, this is about. You just read her time blocks.
Michaela
Okay. Six to seven, finish getting ready breakfast, get up, get the kids up and get them ready.
Scotty
Okay.
Michaela
Seven to eight, reset the house and out the door. Eight to nine, drop kids off, get to work. Set up your whole day like this. And it feels like a more calm situation. And you'll get things done.
Scotty
I like that. Well, I like that she makes the five to six. Like that's her time.
Michaela
Five to six. Yeah, but you got to get up at five.
Scotty
But I have noticed that Yellows will get up earlier to get stuff done. Like it's kind of like this quiet time before the rest of the house, like, needs you. Like, I do know. I, I noticed that in the comments a lot and I think that's it. It could be like a good tip from Yellows as well. It's like if you don't feel like you have enough time, make the time now you have to steal from sleep. But like, you know, maybe one outweighs the other sometimes. I thought that was. That's interesting.
Michaela
No, I think this is great advice.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
Just not for me.
Scotty
Right, of course.
Michaela
Yeah.
Scotty
But we can take little and the points of these episodes is we're going to take little tidbits, sibit for our life.
Michaela
Yeah.
Scotty
I like the time block every once in a while. Yeah.
Michaela
I wonder what would happen if you're true, like a real yellow and the workout goes to like 6:15. Oh, does that mess everything?
Scotty
That won't happen.
Michaela
It wouldn't happen.
Scotty
That's not done. They have a timer.
Michaela
But what if. Okay, so let's see. Now you're a purple and you're doing it. All right. You're like, I'm gonna do this and it's 5 to 6 and then it's like 6:15. Then that throws off the second one it does. Which is getting, you know, finishing, getting ready.
Scotty
I gave my daughter, like Brianna, our daughter is 17 and she's taking all these AP classes and she's constantly like stressed out. I'm telling the. You already know this, but I'm telling the viewer, the listeners this. And she was like, I have to do this. And she was getting overwhelmed. And because my inauthentic yellow and my friendship with many a yellow and my MMSF yellows knowledge all comes together. I told, I gave her like a time blocking idea for studying and she, she religiously uses that now.
Michaela
She does. Yeah.
Scotty
She puts like, okay, I am doing 20 minutes for chemistry. And then when the timer goes up, she is done. Like if she's in mid thought, she's done with that thought. And then she's 20 minutes for history. And so that has helped. And I see her doing it on her own now. So it gave her some sort of structure of feeling like I have control, I have comfort with the time blocking. So in that one context, I feel like that helps her. Yeah, but. But I feel like that's yellow advice.
Michaela
Yeah, that's good advice. Good advice.
Scotty
Jessica writes, this is more like. This is like a pep talk from the yellows. Okay, Pep talk for the yellows. Yeah. She writes, consistency over perfection. You don't have to do it all perfectly, 110% every single day. You just need to be consistent. For example, I have a consistent morning routine every day where I make my bed, do my skincare, make breakfast, go to the gym. Some days I have time for a full on breakfast, facial and hardcore workout, but some days it's just a 30 minute walk, a slab of moisturizer and a granola bar. But I'm still consistent in my routine. And she continues by saying, give yourself a soft landing. I always organize my day to have a soft landing at the end of the day. No matter how the day went, I always ended in a way which feels calming and safe. Whether it's watching TV under a blanket or my long hot shower, meditating, journaling, anything where I can forget about what I did or didn't do and just reset. I thought that was good.
Michaela
That's really good.
Scotty
Yeah. Like, so she does kind of the time blocking too, but she's not so rigid right. With it.
Michaela
There's a little leeway.
Scotty
Yes.
Michaela
Okay.
Scotty
All right, go ahead.
Michaela
What do you got? All right, I have Jan. Yeah, I know Jan. Lists, lists and more lists.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
And organize your next morning chores before.
Scotty
We love yellow's in the morning.
Michaela
Yeah.
Scotty
It seems like they have a thing for the morning guys ready that night before.
Michaela
But. But I, I don't know why. And yellows give me advice all the time.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
And they have like great advice.
Scotty
You love your yellows.
Michaela
They, you know, they would tell me. They always tell me. And I think I've already said this on the podcast. Like if I just created some spreadsheets, it would save me so much time.
Scotty
That is true.
Michaela
But I have like this weird index card method.
Scotty
That's what you do.
Michaela
Which is a mess. And I know it takes longer and
Scotty
you're the only one that knows it. Yeah, it's like a card catalog that only you created.
Michaela
And I'm never giving it up. Like no matter what technology comes out.
Scotty
Well, to do your organization like to find anything, you have to actually be you. You have to.
Michaela
We have lists for everything here, you know, because there's a lot of, you know, confirmations for the workshops and everything. Everything's on lists. But all the lists are on, like, paper.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
Like handwritten things and. Yeah. So yellow probably would be. This is insane people. And they would look at us like we're insane. And I would actually say, you're right, we are insane.
Scotty
Well, any list that you see a yellow's done for me.
Michaela
Like, for example, like an organized list.
Scotty
An organized list. Like the. Thank you, Dr. Shelby. I call her. She's boutique book nooks on IG. She made an aura sheet with every celebrity I've ever mentioned. Like so. And it's like searchable. And so you can go in there and just like, people are like, they can operate it themselves. I could never have made that. She did that. And awesome. You know, Rachel Crocker here, she gave actual, like life hack advice, which I like, live for this stuff. When. When a yellow tells you, like their life tip or their life hack, listen. All right, so she gave a bunch. I use my Google calendar on the month setting. I don't know what that means. And events are color coded based on if it's personal, work related, doctor appointment, etc. Only yellows are doing this. And I really, I know this about this. They color code. They're like online calendars. I also put them as an all day event, then put the time of the event in the beginning of the title so that I can see everything each day throughout the month. I have two to three jobs plus grad school, so this is a must. All right, she's got another one. Lists. I have a list for everything in the notes app on my phone to get all the chaos out of my brain. Yeah, outsource the chaos, put it on a notes app. I get that. Alarms. I use alarms on my phone as reminders. For example, one alarm for where I need to get ready for appointment, another for when I need to leave an alarm for me to call somewhere for something, etc. Here's mornings. I do a quick morning cleanup each day where I pick up from the night before to help me mentally set up for the day. Even though I actually do hate cleaning pets, I keep a note on the fridge marking the date when I give my dogs their monthly medicare medicine and when the next one is needed. And then she says, follow the big three or big five method where you know what the top three to five things are. You have to do that. Are time sensitive. And get those done first. I feel like I do these things. Like, I do that one. That last one.
Michaela
Yeah.
Scotty
But, like, sporadically. And only when I'm, like, really stressed out. Like, oh, my God. Like, I'm about. I've overwhelmed. I've procrastinated, and now it's like, call the doctor. Did it. Like, that kind of thing.
Michaela
Well, that's. Yeah, we have that day, too.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
It's called the doctor day.
Scotty
Oh, yes. There's baseball day, and then there's doctor Your doctor day.
Michaela
And I'm like, no, no. Everyone gets, like, their appointments all made, and it's. It's like a whole day of just you making everyone's appointments.
Scotty
It's an awful day. It's a terrible day.
Michaela
I'm like, leave me out of that day.
Scotty
But Dr. Day.
Michaela
Doctor. There's doctor right now that. It's interesting. As we go through this, we actually see what we're doing.
Scotty
Right.
Michaela
Probably doing.
Scotty
We could just spread it out and give ourselves less stress.
Michaela
Right. All right, so Madison writes, when she needs to get stuff done, she sets a timer.
Scotty
Okay.
Michaela
That's another common theme. Alarms, timers. Bells whistle.
Scotty
Yeah. The time blocking.
Michaela
I'll set a timer and see how much I can get done before the timer goes off. And also helps to be like a game.
Scotty
Like. All right.
Michaela
I could see, like, kind of a red getting behind that advice a little bit. All right, let's see. Set my timer. Yeah. 50 minutes.
Scotty
That's what you do with, like, little kids, too.
Michaela
Yeah.
Scotty
Like, I'm. I'm setting the timer. Let's see how quick we can get the toys cleaned up like that.
Michaela
She's yellow. Indigo.
Scotty
Okay.
Michaela
Okay, that makes sense.
Scotty
I like that one.
Michaela
And I'll just do another one. Again, this one. Also piggybacking. Stephanie K. Is writing, do those dishes immediately.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
Make sure they're in the dishwasher. At the very least, get them in the dishwasher. Dirty things around. Suck out your mentality.
Scotty
Yeah, that's true.
Michaela
Interesting.
Scotty
Yeah. Chaotic. That is true. Your mindset. Can't everyone look around themselves right now? Because, like, what you're looking at is your mindset. It's a direct reflection of how your mind is. So right now, we're recording at a podcast table with 4 billion tiny, random things on it that we have not dealt with.
Michaela
Exactly. Okay, I got a broken light bulb.
Scotty
Yeah. I have a deflated rubber duck. I don't know where that came from.
Michaela
I got a shipment of books that have to go out. I got a Weird black thing with.
Scotty
That's an outdated charger for a phone that I probably should throw out, but I feel bad about throwing out. Okay. So, yeah, that's what I mean. So, like, your. It is true. Like, clutter is your mindset. Yes, that's true. That's like, just, like, spiritual, too.
Michaela
Yeah, that's great. And never have a dirty sink. Never have a dirty floor. And when you get up, you make your bed right away.
Scotty
I'm going to tell you something. If there's an apocalypse, yellows, they vacuumed, right? Okay.
Michaela
Like. Like aliens. Like, you see them in space with their ships.
Scotty
Guess what?
Michaela
They're still going to get the vacuum out.
Scotty
They will abduct you looking at your clean floorboards. Okay. Like, when the world crashes, the yellows don't look like they went through it. They might feel like they did, but they don't look like they did. Everyone's like, how are you handling this so well?
Michaela
So alien invasion is eminent. Still going to mop the floor.
Scotty
You're a yellow if you. If we live in Florida, so if there's a hurricane coming, you know, you're a yellow if you're like, oh, I'm going to vacuum everything.
Michaela
I don't know.
Scotty
Like, that's a. Yeah, just yellows. Know what I'm talking about?
Michaela
Yeah.
Scotty
And they're like, doesn't everyone? No. All right. Ashley kind of just started doing. I thought this was just funny, so I'm just gonna read it. All right. She's just like, saying that she drops empathy sometimes to be in the survival mode. Okay. Meaning that, like, yellow is her only color present sometimes she feels. So her biggest thing is that when I'm in a full blown yellow, I'm not mad at you or anyone. I'm just hyper focused. I might get slightly perturbed if you get in the way, but I look a lot more annoyed than I actually am. Also, please do not stop me and explain a better way to do things, especially if you are mal and need to mansplain, because then I will get annoyed. I will coldly dismiss you until I process it and then maybe agree with you later. It's best to step away and let me plan and work. I'm not seeing the big picture and my mind is hyper focused. My empathy will come back. So I feel like yellows can sound you. You know, So I just thought that was interesting.
Michaela
All right.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
Yeah, that's good. All right. This will be my last one. It's a long one, so I'm just going to paraphrase. It.
Scotty
Okay.
Michaela
So CJ writes about having what she calls a Martha Stewart Day.
Scotty
Oh.
Michaela
And she has organized this day very well.
Scotty
Okay.
Michaela
It's very nice and tidy in paragraph form, and. Which is very interesting. So the first thing you do on your Martha Stewart Day is you wash your face, you do your hair, you shower, you put on all the lotions.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
I don't know the lotions and potions. She writes, keep your skin looking good. Get a cute outfit on. Cozy outfit.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
She tells you actually what you should be wearing, like what kind of sweats and everything. Put on some perfume. The point is that you feel and look amazing and. And you're comfortable.
Scotty
Yes.
Michaela
Okay. So that. That gets it started. Then you got to make a meal.
Scotty
Okay.
Michaela
All right. Take out your crock pot. This is crock pot time.
Scotty
Crock pot time.
Michaela
So you're doing a crock pot meal.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
Then while that's like cooking, you know, or you're making your chicken noodle soup or whatever you want to be making, then you have to tidy up the house.
Scotty
Okay.
Michaela
And while you tidy up the house, you listen to your favorite music.
Scotty
Okay.
Michaela
Taylor Swift would be a good one.
Scotty
Okay. All right. Yeah.
Michaela
Then you organize, do some organizing, decorating project, something like that. Rearranging.
Scotty
I need a nap.
Michaela
Cleaning to the point where the space is immaculate.
Scotty
Oh, okay.
Michaela
All these things you do. And she gives you the step by step to have a Martha Stewart Day.
Scotty
A Martha Stewart Day. That sounds so much good advice. Over on the. On the thread, I'm going to end it with advice my yellow grandma always gave me, which is not unlike Martha Stewart Day a little bit. She said, every morning especially. Especially on the mornings where you're feeling down or you don't want to do something, go put on red lipstick. And that was her way of saying, once you put on that lipstick and, you know, obviously do your hair and make it like, you know, make yourself feel good. Get out of the house.
Michaela
Was she yellow?
Scotty
Yes. Yeah, she was yellow. And it was like, get out of the house. And now there's always something to do. You know, there's always something to do. There's always somewhere to go, get moving like that. And that was her way of being like. Motion is for her. And I think for a lot of yellows, motion and activity and purpose is a feeling of calmness and a feeling of control over one's life. But I love my yellows. I always say my good friends have always been yellow auras. I find them to be so compassionate and empathetic in Action. You know, they show up. They always show up. And if you're yellow, I hope you understand how you showing up is. You know, I see the work behind that. And, you know, and you. You should see the work behind that too, because that's not easy.
Michaela
All right? And to my double empath friends who might be very overwhelmed, they're like, whoa, wait, I can't do this. I can't do this. I'm having a panic attack. Yeah, that's okay, too.
Scotty
Yeah, it's okay. Just go listen to the purple one where we basically say it's okay to just lay around.
Michaela
309. Episode 309.
Scotty
Episode 309.
Michaela
You'll be fine.
Scotty
We're going to give you totally opposite advice now. What do you do for yellow purple aura? Huh? You listen to both.
Michaela
Wow. Quick overtime.
Scotty
Yeah, overtime. Let's do overtime. Rules of overtime. You can go now. We strongly recommend that you do go now.
Michaela
This is actually. This is a more tame one. There's no Jumanji in any of this. Right. So it's a tame overtime.
Scotty
Everybody just left.
Michaela
Yeah, they did. We're talking to ourselves.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
All right, so what's it. What do we want to do? What do I do for overtime?
Scotty
Okay, so over time. So on episode 309, which was live life like a purple aura, we talked about how we fixed the fridge.
Michaela
Yes, we did.
Scotty
And we are like. We felt such a rush of, like, self esteem. Esteem and accomplishment. And like, talk about a vibration raise.
Michaela
Yes.
Scotty
And. And so crazy enough just in time for Live life like a yellow aura. We just fixed another major appliance.
Michaela
Right. And I have made a pact. It's like a. An oath. An oath. A blood oath.
Scotty
It's a blood oath.
Michaela
There's nothing stronger in my life than this oath.
Scotty
You sliced open your palm as you said it.
Michaela
I don't even know if our wen vowels are this strong. Okay. This is how strong this is.
Scotty
Like red or oath.
Michaela
Yes, the. And this all. And you know this if you've listened to the podcast.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
I paid $212 to have someone come to my house and tell me to defrost the fridge.
Scotty
He'll never get over it. And the shame, embarrassment.
Michaela
There will never, ever be. There will never, ever be another appliance repairman in my home. Never going to happen. It's never gonna happen. There's either two things that are gonna happen. One, I'm gonna fix it. And that's what I'm trying to do. I'm gonna fix it.
Scotty
Okay?
Michaela
And if I Can't fix it. I'm just getting into one.
Scotty
Right.
Michaela
I don't care. I know it's, like, wasteful. I know it's horrible. I know it's wasting money. I don't care. There will never. I will never have the feeling again of a repairman coming to my house, doing something so simple, and then charging me an absorbent amount of money.
Scotty
This is some redora resolve.
Michaela
That's. Yeah.
Scotty
That's a red or a rant. Because of a red or a rip off.
Michaela
Yeah. So from that $212, there's good news. I got my new spirit guide, Mikey.
Scotty
Mikey from New York. Yeah.
Michaela
And I now fix everything in the house. Yeah.
Scotty
Mikey's like, he's really come through for you.
Michaela
Yeah. So the other night we're just, you know, relaxing. We actually just had gotten home from a trip.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
And of course, you know, we're doing the wash and put the clothes in the dryer, and then all of a sudden we hear. I don't.
Scotty
I hear like a boom. And I'm like, that doesn't sound good.
Michaela
I'm like, oh, it's nothing.
Scotty
And I'm like, I don't know. So I go upstairs and immediately I. I just figured out something. I'm like, something's wrong with the dryer.
Michaela
Something's wrong with the dryer.
Scotty
I'm like an appliance psychic. Because I, like. Immediately I'm like you. I know nothing about appliances. I am girly purple. When I'm like, I'm out like that. But immediately I'm like, belt broke. How did I know that?
Michaela
Dryer belt?
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
I don't know.
Scotty
I'm like, dryer bell, bro.
Michaela
I don't know how you do that.
Scotty
And you're. And I'm like, I don't know. I'm like, I feel like we need to. I made the mistake of saying I feel like I need to get somebody just to come and do the belt, probably.
Michaela
And then he lost. You heard the speech. There will be no. We are gonna fix this ourselves or I'm going to Home Depot right now and buying a new one.
Scotty
It's like an address on a hill. You were just like, so you shall not pass.
Michaela
So now we do have help from YouTube. That's our source. We. You get all these weird YouTube videos that these people are, like gifts from the heavens.
Scotty
Who are these angels?
Michaela
Angels.
Scotty
Who is Bill, the angel from Canada who know greed? Bill, who, for whatever got into him one day and he decided to make, just for fun, a YouTube video. About the Kenmore Series 100 dryer belt replacement.
Michaela
Right. And of course, the first thing he says, you're not. And I can't even believe it. You're gonna need a nut driver. You need a nut driver. And I'm like, holy crap.
Scotty
We just need a flip.
Michaela
We did not learn from the first time.
Scotty
Yeah. We never.
Michaela
We bought the nut driver.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
You know what? The first thing I did, I bought a nut. I finally own A nut driver. A 516 nut driver.
Scotty
516 nut driver.
Michaela
It took me this many years on to be on this planet, but I now own a 516 nut driver. Is my most prized possession worth the 6 bucks? The best 6 bucks I ever spent. Yeah, I. You know, I did the fridge. We did. We did the refrigerator pair without a 16 15. 5 16.
Scotty
Yeah. We're a team.
Michaela
It was a pain.
Scotty
We're a team.
Michaela
I'm gonna tell you, this nut driver works wonders. You just turn it a couple times like butter. Like, the screw comes out. It saves so much time.
Scotty
I mean, we're so fascinated by this regular people stuff.
Michaela
Right.
Scotty
I feel like this is very green, and we're not green, you know?
Michaela
Yeah.
Scotty
And you're like red or. I think a lot of red ores know how to do this kind of stuff naturally, too, but just from your upbringing, I don't feel like you had that type of training. No, you're open to it. You're open to it.
Michaela
I want to do it. I just never had no one, ever. Yeah.
Scotty
I'd love to put you as an apprentice with Bill from Canada.
Michaela
I would.
Scotty
The YouTube guy.
Michaela
I would enjoy that. And the thing is, you know why? The other part about this that's so great is I have no fear anymore.
Scotty
No.
Michaela
Because if it doesn't work, it's just going in the trash. I don't care. But nobody's coming to this house. So if we mess up, I'm like, all right, it's gonna be bought, and that's it. And I. Yeah, I know that's wasteful, and I know that's horrible. It's like wasting money. And I don't like to do that either.
Scotty
It's awful.
Michaela
But I'd rather do that than have someone come to my house. But all right.
Scotty
Anyway, long story short, we took this whole dryer apart. We take this apart, which, by the way, dryers are crazy, man.
Michaela
There's a huge drum in there.
Scotty
That's nuts.
Michaela
Who knew?
Scotty
And the belts are, like, really thin and wimpy.
Michaela
Who knew? Like, this one little belt, like, makes that thing turn so many times.
Scotty
It's really tiny. It's like a shoelace.
Michaela
Yeah, it's like a shoelace.
Scotty
It's insane.
Michaela
Like a rubber. It's like rubber, though, right?
Scotty
Yeah. And I'm not, like, strong enough to do it, but I'm good at, like, the instructions.
Michaela
Yeah, you're good at the instructions.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
And then.
Scotty
And kind of like. Yeah. Maneuvering.
Michaela
Maneuvering things and then figuring out. And then I'll take over and I'll, like. Because, like, sometimes you need to, like, pull it a certain way. Force something there or force the door open. I'm good at that.
Scotty
Yeah. Good at that.
Michaela
I'm good at forcing.
Scotty
We're kind of like.
Michaela
Although they say never forcing.
Scotty
Tweedledee and Tweedledum fixing appliances.
Michaela
When you take the. When you take the dryer drum, like, once you take the door off, the dryer drum just falls off.
Scotty
Just falls off.
Michaela
It's not even attached anymore, you guys.
Scotty
It's like, who.
Michaela
What? Green came up with a system where a dryer. The dryer drum isn't attached to the machine.
Scotty
But I need to tell you guys something. Like, replacing a dryer belt isn't that hard. I don't want to, like, downplay our success, but it wasn't that bad. But when we got it going.
Michaela
Oh, my gosh.
Scotty
And we, like, we, like, first try.
Michaela
First try.
Scotty
We high fived. Like, we, like running. Chest bump. Yeah. The kids are like, okay.
Michaela
It worked because, like, Bill said, like, sometimes you.
Scotty
Bill, he's like my best friend.
Michaela
He said sometimes people mess it up. You know, Sometimes people lose a screw.
Scotty
Oh, yeah.
Michaela
We. We came up with systems.
Scotty
Well, he was really good at being like, hey, don't just.
Michaela
Yeah.
Scotty
Before you do this, don't do that. Which, honestly. Thank you, Bill from YouTube.
Michaela
Yeah.
Scotty
Because everything he said don't do, I was about to do.
Michaela
We were going to do all those things. But the thing is, we do these things step by step. We stop the video. We do, like, we turn. We take out a screw. Stop the video. Take out a screw. Yeah, stop. You know, stop pictures. Take the door off.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
We do everything, everything, everything. There's always one thing we mess up.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
Like, we forgot to take. When we did the fridge, we forgot to take the picture of how things go back together.
Scotty
So I was like, the fridge was more. That was more complicated. Dryer's not that bad so far. Knock on wood.
Michaela
We did. We did real well.
Scotty
Well, we just had to share with you guys how awesome.
Michaela
If anyone. Look, if anyone. You know, we'll do this for people, too. It doesn't have to be on our stuff. We will help you. Or we're going to break it and it'll never be able to be fixed.
Scotty
Yeah. We also break things. Successful. Yes. Yeah.
Michaela
Either way, you're gonna win.
Scotty
Yeah.
Michaela
Yeah.
Scotty
All right. We just had to share that with you because, you know, you guys are proud of us.
Michaela
Yep. I think we're more proud of ourselves.
Scotty
We're really proud of ourselves.
Michaela
Like, if. I don't know if you have many green guys listening, but if there are, they're probably. I did that in two minutes.
Scotty
I know. Like, who else do you brag to about this? Like, we. We stopped hyping ourselves up and now we had to make it in overtime.
Michaela
Yeah. Hopefully nothing else goes, though.
Scotty
Stop.
Michaela
Okay.

Even if you’re not a "yellow,” there’s much to learn from their way of organizing, preparing, and showing up in life. The key message: Small, thoughtful systems—done with care and consistency—can make life noticeably smoother. And as always, do what feels authentic to you.
