Welcome to Abby Snoozy News, our monthly minisode full of chatter about the show, like news from the characters, behind the scenes facts and answers to questions. Like if you lived in Sleepy Forest, what would your Halloween costume be for the next Sleepy Forest costume competition? So in tonight's newsy News, then we are talking about you. You guessed it, Halloween. Because it's that time of year again when we put on our favourite costumes, we go trick or treating for sweets, and we decorate our homes with pumpkins and spiderwebs. Oh, that reminds me, when my son was very little, we got all dressed up. I think he was a pumpkin at the time, and we went trick or treating. But one of the houses we went to was so covered in spiders webs and had spooky lighting outside that he refused to go up the driveway. So I had to leave him and walk up on my own to a spooky house and ask for sweets. And unsurprisingly, they didn't open the door. I wonder, is it possible that Halloween can sometimes be too spooky? Or is that just me? Anyway, I do love Halloween, especially when I see all the wonderful creative decorations around. Maybe it's also because I know that it means Christmas is just around the corner too. Just like we celebrate Halloween in the human world, then so does everyone in Sleepy Forest. Of course. And we have some Wonderful Halloween stories coming up for you. But before I jump into the teasers for those stories, this newsy news is going to have a little bit of a different start than usual because I have a fun challenge for you. Ever dreamed of being featured on Koala moon's Instagram and TikTok? Well this Halloween we want to see your spookiest, sparkliest creations, please. You can draw, paint or craft it, anything goes. Maybe you'll make a picture of a friendly ghost, a pumpkin party, or your favourite Koala Moon characters all dressed up for trick or treating. Then when you're ready, simply ask your grown ups to share a short video of your masterpiece and you then tell us a little bit about it. We can't wait to see what you create and if you're stuck for ideas of what to say, maybe you could tell us things. Is your artwork spooky, silly or sweet? Which Halloween colours have you used and why did you choose them? If the Koala Moon characters are dressed up, what are they wearing? Maybe tell us what's your favourite thing about Halloween? I love it when we do things like this because you always surprise us. So get your thinking hats on, maybe their witchy pointy shaped hats and have a little think what you could send us. And you never know, you may be featured on our Instagram or our TikTok. I just can't wait to see your imaginative creations. Talking about creations, have you ever carved a pumpkin before? If not, maybe this is the year to ask a grown up to help you try. If you. You don't need to make it fancy, just enjoy turning it into something new. I don't know about you, but just the smell of pumpkin and the squishy seeds, the flicker of a candle inside, it all feels kind of magical to me. And if you're not a pumpkin kind of person, well that's alright too. You could carve a turnip or draw a silly face on a squash, or even paint a potato if you want. It's your Halloween, you make the magic. Oh, speaking of squashes, in this Coco Club exclusive episode that we've got coming out soon, we will be heading to the cosy village of Puddlefoot. The leaves are crisp, the pumpkins are plump, and one little butternut squash named Squidge is dreaming big. Every Halloween, Squidge watches the pumpkins being chosen and he feels a little bit left out. He wishes he'd be chosen and so he starts to wish that he was a pumpkin. It seems like a faraway dream to Squidge, but when a twinkling forest sprite appears and promises to grant him one wish. Squidge can hardly believe it. At first, Squidge is thrilled to finally be one of the chosen ones. But he soon learns that being someone else, even someone he admired, isn't nearly as special as being himself. Poor Squidge. He might be the squishiest squash in the village, but he also just might be the bravest too. Will he ever be able to get back to being the way he wants to be his original, true self? What a journey this story is. I can't wait for you to hear how the story ends. We have other stories coming up too. On Thursday 23rd October, we're unlocking an episode that was previously just for our Koko Club members as we return to Sleepy Forest for a very special Halloween celebration. An animal has just arrived. Spooky the Bush baby. And he's determined to make new friends the best way he knows how by throwing a big Halloween party. But with decorations to hang, cookies to bake and nearly a hundred invitations to deliver, Spooky soon realises he's forgotten something very important. His costume. Oh, dear. Will he be ready in time? Before his guests arrive, join Koko and all your Sleepy Forest friends as lanterns twinkle and dragons dance. Pumpkins are glowing under the moonlight. It's a magical, heartwarming tale about friendship, creativity and community. And a perfect bedtime treat for Halloween night if you cannot wait until then. We've also had two very special Halloween stories out recently, so if you've missed those and you want to get your Halloween levels up, definitely go and check them out. It's going to be the cosiest, sleepiest Halloween ever here in Sleepy Forest. And we can't wait to bring you along for all the magical story adventures we've got planned.
