And we're going to start by learning from our upcoming stories on the 24th of July. Then look out for the clumsy dinosaur in which we're going to be rejoining Cece, that lovely little girl who lives next door to a house full of dinosaurs. Remember her? Since we last saw her, she and the youngest dinosaur neighbor, Spike, have been getting closer and closer. Now they are completely inseparable. This summer they've been spending a lot of time in a skate park. Only Spike's cousin is coming to visit and he's not going to fit in so well on a skateboard. You see, Spike's cousin is a clumsy dinosaur. As in the clumsiest dinosaur you've ever seen, heard or spoken to. Everywhere he goes, mess follows. He knocks things over with his tail, his head, his feet. It's unbelievable. You'd think he's doing it on purpose, but he's not. And what I love about this story is that Cece and Spike understand that instead of making him feel bad about the trouble he has, they just accept the way he is and even try and think of ways to help him. Like tightroping calms him down, so they build one and if he knocks something over, they just help him pick it up. Sometimes they know he wants a laugh, so they make a joke about it. And other times, if they see he feels embarrassed, they just tell him it's ok. We all have things we're great at and not so great at after all. I think that sometimes we all want to be perfect and never be bad at anything. But really our shortfalls are a part of what makes us a us. They're part of our story. And really what matters is that we try our best and we love our friends and our neighbours for who they are. Even if that means we have to put away our breakables when they come for tea. Next on 28 July, we have a wonderful story coming your way. The Tale of the Slumberjack. Have you ever heard of a slumberjack? I bet you've heard about a lumberjack, right? A person who cuts down trees and uses the wood to build or heat the fireplace or who knows what. Well, Willow Stump, the heroine of this story, is the next in a long line of lumberjacks. Her parents were lumberjacks and their parents were. And their parents were too. She lives in a wood cabin near Sleepy Forest and she knows that she too will follow in their footsteps. Only it's not until she's reading a book one day that and reads about slumberjacks that she realises she's found her destiny. And it's going to be a little more unique than her family's. She realizes that she's not meant to be a lumberjack at all. She was born to be a slumberjack. How does she know? She just feels it in her heart, I guess. You see, for every hundred or so lumberjacks, a slumberjack is born. It's someone with a special calling to undertake a special job. They're guardians of the forest. You see, cutting down trees too much and using all the wood for humans, if unchecked, could take the habitats away from the animals who need them. So we need slumberjacks to maintain the balance. That's why a slumberjack job is to go to remote wild places and make sure the forests are thriving. They help the animals create the cosiest homes high up in the trees, going to almost impossible lengths to make sure that every bush, baby and koala and squirrel and sloth could fall asleep in the cosiest of nests and dens and hidey holes. I think what's special about this story and Willow is that she finds a special calling, a unique thing she thinks she'd be great at and decides to go for it. She doesn't once worry about what people may think of her or if her family mind if she does something different. Because she knows how important it is to follow your heart and believe in whatever it is that makes you uniquely you. Finally, I'd like to tell you about a story that will be released on August 11th called a new Year in Kookaburra. Kindy. This story follows Cuddle the puggle, you know, the baby platypus. As she gets ready for a whole new year at school, she'll be moving out of Ms. Bloomington's class and into another, but I'll leave her new teacher as a surprise. The most interesting thing she finds in her new class is a new student called Buttons, the badger cub. He has autism and is a little different to Cuddle in some ways, like he wears headphones sometimes if there's a lot of noise in the classroom, and he doesn't always look at the teacher when they talk. He also has amazing handwriting and is really smart and kind. Through making friends with Buttons, Cuddle is reminded of how some kids operate differently and learn differently, and how there's nothing wrong with that at all. In fact, it reminds her of how big and interesting our world is, and how it teaches her different ways to think and be. I have a feeling Buttons is going to love his new class and I look forward to getting to know him a bit more. Well, I don't know about you, but I can't wait for those stories. I look forward to sharing them together and hearing what you think. Don't forget to follow. Leave us a review and subscribe.
