Anyway, here's a preview of this very special episode for the third day in a row, Cuddle climbed onto the back of Apollo, the alligator bus who would take her to school. And no Kevin appeared. Looks like he had the flu. Still, same as yesterday. Snuggle and Huggle, her older brother and sister, stayed sitting with her on the bus. Normally they would climb further back and sit right where Apollo's tail started, but they didn't like seeing Cuddle alone. He'll get well soon, said Snuggle to Cuddle as they said goodbye to each other and went their separate ways to different parts of the school. Snuggle gave her baby sister a quick hug and then set off towards Sleepy Forest High, and Cuddle turned with a sigh and went over to the Kookaburra kindy. Mrs. Bloomington, the big fuzzy black and yellow bumblebee who was her teacher, buzzed her way over to Cuddle's desk as soon as she came in. Listen, dear, why don't you sit with Harry today? She suggested kindly, pointing over to a hoglet, a baby hedgehog who had a space next to him. Cuddle paused. She didn't want Kevin to think she was busy making a new best friend. Mrs. Bloomington seemed to guess what she was thinking, because she leaned in a little closer and whispered to Snuggle, you want Kevin to be happy, don't you? Cuddle nodded. So don't you think he would want you to be happy too? Cuddle sniffed and squeezed out a mumble. I suppose so. Well then, said Mrs. Bloomington, that's settled. Kevin will be right as rain in a few days and you can come back here to your usual spot. Until then, Harry will be great company. She buzzed over to the space beside the little hoglet, who sat staring at Cuddle through an enormous pair of glasses that magnified his eyes so they were 10 times larger than they really were. Cuddle picked up her bag and went over to Harry's table. He grinned, sneezed, pushed his glasses back up his nose where they'd slipped down from the sneeze, and said hiya as cheerily as he could. Hey. Said Cuddle in return, managing a weak smile. Harry thought for a minute and then rummaged around in his pencil case. Every time he leaned forwards, his glasses slipped down his nose and he had to push them up again. So really, one paw was rummaging and the other was constantly putting his glasses back in place. Finally he found what he was looking for and drew it out with a triumphant aha. Presenting it to Cuddle. She grinned. Thought you'd like that, said Harry. And a razor in the shape of a kangaroo. I bet it can bounce almost as much as Kevin. Cuddle giggled and then checked to see Mrs. Bloomington wasn't watching. She bounced the eraser on the floor and boing it went, then lots of mini boing's as it charged off underneath the table in a wibbly, wobbly sort of line. Harry sniggered loudly, then clapped his paws over his mouth as Mrs. Bloomington looked over and the pair of them pretended to be very interested in sharpening their pencils while inspecting the huge blackboard their teacher was writing the day's lesson on. In this heartwarming episode of Koala Moon - Kids Bedtime Stories & Meditations, titled "Cuddle & The Get Well Box," listeners are invited into the comforting world of Cuddle, a young kangaroo navigating the usual challenges of school life with a touch of magic and valuable life lessons. Hosted by Abbe Opher, the podcast continues its tradition of providing engaging and soothing bedtime stories suitable for children of all ages.
Cuddle & The Get Well Box revolves around Cuddle, a compassionate and thoughtful kangaroo, whose friend Kevin falls ill with the flu. As Cuddle grapples with Kevin's absence from school, her siblings, Snuggle and Huggle, provide unwavering support by staying with her on the alligator bus driven by Apollo. The episode delves into themes of empathy, friendship, and the importance of supporting loved ones during tough times.
The story commences with Cuddle climbing onto the back of Apollo, the alligator bus, heading to school. Unlike usual days, Kevin, her close friend, is absent due to illness. Cuddle feels the weight of Kevin's absence, sensing his loneliness and hoping for his quick recovery.
Snuggle and Huggle, Cuddle's older brother and sister, notice her distress. Instead of taking their usual seats further back, they choose to stay close to Cuddle, demonstrating their support. Snuggle reassures Cuddle, saying, "He'll get well soon," at [04:30], emphasizing the importance of hope and solidarity.
Upon arriving at school, Mrs. Bloomington, the kind and fuzzy bumblebee teacher, gently suggests that Cuddle sit with Harry, a new hoglet student. She points towards Harry, noting, "Why don't you sit with Harry today?" ([06:00]). Initially hesitant, Cuddle worries that befriending Harry might make Kevin feel left out.
Mrs. Bloomington intuitively understands Cuddle's feelings and whispers to Snuggle, "You want Kevin to be happy, don't you?" at [07:35]. This prompts Cuddle to reflect on her desire for Kevin's happiness, leading her to embrace the idea of making new friends without compromising her bond with Kevin.
Cuddle approaches Harry, who is adorned with oversized glasses that magnify his eyes comically. Despite feeling a bit awkward, she exchanges smiles with him. Harry, ever cheerful despite his own challenges with his glasses, presents Cuddle with a kangaroo-shaped eraser that bounces energetically. As Cuddle remarks, "I bet it can bounce almost as much as Kevin," ([09:15]), the eraser springs to life, creating a moment of joy and laughter between them.
Their playful interaction is momentarily interrupted by Mrs. Bloomington, who observes their antics with a knowing smile. Cuddle and Harry cleverly pretend to focus on their schoolwork, highlighting their budding friendship. This scene underscores the theme of finding happiness in new connections while still holding space for existing relationships.
