Hello and welcome to Munch's Mailbag, where we go through all the post that's arrived from the Koala Kingdom and learn what all our friends there are getting up to. There'll be sure to be juicy bits of news from the kingdom and some sneaky peeks at future episodes. As for me, I've been super busy trying to keep cool in the recent Heat Wave here in the uk. My studio gets wildly hot, like a sauna. But I still want to record. So my best ever discovery has been to put a wet towel in the freezer. And when it's fully frozen, I put it on my head. And then I enter the studio and it's like having personal air conditioning, but silent. Very important when recording and very effective until it starts to flop and drip down my back, which tickles. If you have any more excellent tips or tricks for keeping cool, please send them in. Speaking of cool, I'm so pleased we'll be hanging out with Munchie a bit more. With his motorbike and his cool sunglasses, he honestly is the most rad raccoon I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He popped over earlier when I was making my morning cup of tea and he made me jump when he tapped on the window. I was so surprised he'd driven over on his motorbike with a bag full of mail for us from the folks over in the Koala Kingdom. I haven't read any of them yet because I was waiting to share them all with you. So, shall we dive in? All right, first up, let's open this letter. I think I recognise the handwriting. Oh, yes, it's from our friend Snaffles. Hello, Abby. You'll be glad to know that I've just got back from a very relaxing holiday, but you guys won't believe what happened. When I landed back in Sleepy Forest, my luggage had gone missing. But don't worry, the staff who worked at the airport were very friendly and they helped me follow clues to find my lost luggage. I won't tell you whether we solved that mystery just yet, but I will tell you that I made a new friend called Hover. She's a helicopter with a broken propeller, and let me tell you, we got up to some pretty amazing adventures. Alright, bye. Hmm. My, my. How intriguing. I wonder what Snaffles and Hover got up to. I guess we'll have to wait to hear Snaffles lost luggage this month. Next, we've got a postcard. Oh. With a picture of what looks like a very exciting roller coaster. On the front. And how wonderful. It's from Coco. Let's see what Coco has to say. Hi, Abby. Coco. Here I got you this postcard from my recent trip to Koala Land, the kingdom's very first theme park. Prickles and I visited for its opening night and it was awesome. Thrilling rides, colourful parades, delicious treats. Prickles was a little bit nervous about going on the big rides at first, but then. Actually, I won't spoil it for you. Ok, I'm running out of space on the postcard now. Bye. Oh yes, Koko's handwriting was getting rather small trying to squeeze the words onto the postcard. Here. Koala Land. Doesn't that sound like a magical place? I can't wait to find out whether little Prickles got over his fear of the big rides. All right, on to the next letter. Now then, this one is from my good friend Lauren who's narrated stories for us before. She says she's got a surprise for us. Hi, Abby. She says, could you let listeners know that I've got a pretty special story for them this month. It's about an exciting overnight stay at a water park after closing time. I'm not going to spoil the surprise, but expect giant slides, wondrous discoveries and plenty of splash filled fun. Well, isn't that exciting? I absolutely love it when Lauren comes on to tell us a story. Between you and me, there's nothing in the world quite like the sound of Lauren's voice to send me into the deepest and most peaceful sleep. Right, next letter. Oh, what's this? This envelope is covered in some green kind of goo. I'll have to be careful opening it so I don't get it on my fingers. And oh yes, I should have guessed. It's from our pals, Hector and Sunny. Howdy, Abby. You won't believe what we've just seen. A once in a lifetime event. The eruption of a volcano. But don't worry, it wasn't a dangerous volcano. It was the sleepy slime volcano up in pillowy peaks. And when it erupted, it didn't spew out lava, but gooey slime. I bet you can imagine the fun we got up to there. See ya, Hector and Sunny. P.S. sorry for the slime on the envelope. A slime volcano. Have you ever heard of such a thing? It will never fail to amaze me the kind of magical wonders you can find in the Koala Kingdom. Make sure you tune in to that episode to find out what fun those dogs got up to in the slime. Now we've got one last Letter here. But. Hmm, how strange. It's empty. There's nothing written on the letter at all. But. Oh, I've got an idea. If I hold this letter up to the light, then. Yeah, just as I thought. It was written in invisible ink. Which means just one thing. This letter is from the Jupiter twins. Let me read it out. Hey Abby, we hope you managed to work out how to reveal the words on this letter. We had to use invisible ink because, well, the truth is we've got a secret. You know, we've just started at our new school in Lower Starry Skies. We. Which by the way, we love. Well, our teacher gave us the chance to start our own after school clubs and we thought it would be a great chance to teach the other kids how to cast spells. Except we couldn't let the teachers find out, so we've had to call it the Spelling Club. Get it? S E, C R, E, T. That spells secret. Alright, that's it for now. Cheerio Lily and Jake. A secret spelling club. What a brilliant new adventure for the Jupiter twins. I wonder if the kids who live in Lower starry skies will be good at casting spells. And I wonder whether the teachers will find out what they're all up to. E X, C I T E D. That's what I am excited to find out about how the twins bring magic to lower Starry skies. I've got two more postcards here and they've both got special stickers on them that say Coco Club. Which means that these stories are only available for Koko Club members. So if you want to hear more about them, make sure you subscribe. Now. This first postcard has a picture of a shoal of rainbow coloured fish on it. And look, it's from Hector and Sunny. It says that this postcard is from their recent scuba diving expedition. We found a mysterious map in the Harmony Cove Maritime Museum, they wrote. And being a pair of detectives, we followed it. What did you expect? It took us deep underwater discovering all kinds of ancient secrets. But you'll have to listen to the story to find out more. Those two, they're always stumbling upon some hidden wonders, aren't they? It's like they're magnets for mystery. Underwater magnets this time, I suppose. And this second postcard here has a photograph of a white capped mountain with cherry trees covered in pink blossom. I think I recognise that mountain. You know it's Mount Fuji in Japan. Does that mean that someone's been on a trip abroad? Let's see. Hey Abby, it's Koko and Kira. Here, writing to you from our great Japanese adventure. We've seen all sorts of wondrous things on this holiday, but the most mysterious one was where we found a secret poem hiding in our bento box. The poem directed us towards a magical temple where we met a wise old monkey who. Who taught us about an ancient Japanese art, origami. We won't tell you any more here. You'll just have to wait for the episode. Bye for now. Koko and Kira went on a magical Japanese adventure. I have to say, I'm pretty envious of that. I'd love to visit Japan. I can't wait to learn about what they discovered there. And don't forget, if you want to hear either of these two episodes, make sure you sign up to Coco Club today. It looks like we're all out of letters now, but Munchie's also delivered a copy of the Koala Kingdom Gazette. I wonder what that brilliant little chicken journalist Chimpkin, has written in her newspaper. Ooh, look at this headline. The Fast and the Furriest. Potato and Beans Take on Wild Wildebeest Rodeo. Wow, doesn't that sound exciting? Here's what it says. Roller Skating Kitties. Potato and Beans Take on the Rodeo. Wildebeest Thunderhorn at the Middle of Nowhere. Summer Fate. Will they manage to hold on? Or will Thunderhorn send the cats flying through the air? Find out this month only on Koala Shine. And here's another headline. One small step for Cat Kind Kitty Cosmodrome Astronaut Training Camp Invites New Recruits. The Kitty Cosmodrome Training Camp. That must be the Castronauts looking for a new friend to join them for expeditions into space. I wonder what their training process involves. And I wonder which special cat's going to join their ranks. I guess we'll all have to tune in to Koala Shine this month to find out. Down here at the bottom of the Gazette's front page, Chimpkin's given us some information about what's coming up on Koala Tots in the next few weeks. I'll read what she's written. Make sure you all tune in for some of the cosiest little stories ever. We've got a heartwarming tale about a little newt who napped. And if you want to hear the moment Potato and Beans decided they wanted to own a diner at Dream Job Day at Kitten Kindergarten. Or if you want to hear baby Coco's first ever day at kindergarten, tune in. Maybe it will help any younger brothers or sisters you may have that are going to school for the first time. Well, Jimkins, certainly right about that. I can't wait to hear those Koala Tots episodes. That's it from Munch's Mailbag and Chimpkin's Koala Kingdom Gazette. Until next month, that is, when we'll have another bulging bag of letters and postcards to read. Can you hear Sunny barking? She's telling me she's ready for her walk now, so I'd better go. But thanks for listening. And we hope you sleep so well this month, enjoying all your bedtime stories about the calm, funny adventures in the Koala Kingdom. Sweet dreams.
