Capi
How old are you? And how long have you guys been friends?
Host
And here's what they said. Hey guys, Capi here. Wow, it's so cool to speak to you guys. I hope you like our stories. I'm nine and Tito is eight. We met when we were babies. Tito was just a little bundle of feathers. I was quite big and quite clumsy. All capybara babies are. We both live in Playa del Moon by the Amazon river and our parents met when swimming in a jungle pool. Tito was learning to fly and I was cheering him on. He tumbled out of the sky at one point and landed on my head. He must have thought it was comfy as he's been riding around on me ever since. Right, next, Joy had some fabulous questions, including what is Capi and Tito's favourite subject and favourite song? Hola, Joy. Tito here. I'm the most musical of us, so I'll answer first. In fact, I'm the most musical of any of the animals in the Amazon. And I'm not just talking about my tweeting. I love South American music like the samba, which sounds like this. Oh, and bossa nova. Oh, that really makes my hips move and flapp on my wings. That sounds like this. My favorite song is Hips Don't Lie by Shakira, as that makes me boogie like no one's watching. And on a similar note, my favourite subject at school is. Ah, music. Like, I just learned about the didgeridoo. Know it? An instrument from Australia, like a big pipe as long as a tall human. Boy, those things are fascinating. Over to Guppy. Hey, Joy, Cappy here. I love pop music. I just love music that makes me feel happy and that I can sing along to. My favourite song is Don't Worry Be Happy, but I changed the lyrics too. Don't Worry Be Cappy. Do you know it? My favourite subject at school is geography. I love that there's a big wide world out there for us to explore. When I visited my family in Sleepy Forest, I flew there in a plane and I got to see the world from up high. It was awesome. Our next question comes from Marley from New Zealand, who asked what is Capi and Tito's favourite food and what are their favourite colours? Capi said, my favourite colour is yellow because it makes me happy. It also reminds me of my pal Tito, who has feathers as yellow as the sun. I hope he says his favourite colour is brown, like my fur. My favourite food has to be picarones. They are these golden, squishy rings of joy, or donuts, more precisely made from sweet potato and squash and covered in syrup. You can find picarones in the markets, especially during fiestas. So if you visit Peru, try them and maybe share a bite with a furry friend like me. See? Over to Tito. Me, I do love Cappy's brown fur, but my absolute favorite colour is blue, like the sky. It reminds me of flying over the jungle doing loop de loops. And my favourite food is Papa Praline's chocolate from Sleepy Forest. Kathy bought me some back from her trip and it was so delicious I ate it all in one go. Gulp. Now I can't wait for her to go back again to get some more. The next question was asked by Scarlet Mason and also Rosie. Rosie, you can ask it for us?
Capi
What's your favorite adventure you've been on?
Host
Cappy answered this one for both of them. She said, we loved our trip to Machu Picchu, where we met Hector and Sunny. Those guys are so funny and sweet. They showed us about a magical dog world that overlaps with ours, where Machu Picchu is called Machu Puchu, and magical dogs of all kinds live in splendour there. We loved meeting the amazing dogs and seeing the ruins restored to their former glory. It was the best day of our lives so far. Anyway, next is a question from Sienna.
Capi
Is Cappy and Teal cousins or friends? When you have the answer, can you please tell me? Cause I feel like they're friends, but I don't know if they're cousins or not. Or is that koala with Cappy as cousins, I can't remember. Bye. Thank you.
Host
Tito said, see, we're friends, but we are so close, we feel like family. We live in the same place and we know everything about each other. We even finish each other's. Cappy, you were supposed to say sentences. Cappy's actual cousins are called Coco and Kira, and they live in Sleepy Forest. Next, a question from Cara.
Capi
Hi, I'm Cara, and these are my questions for Cappy and Tito. My first one is, how long have you been friends? And my second one says, for Capi, why do you have a different name in Peru? Thank you.
Host
Capi said, oh, my goodness. Hi, Cara. We have the same name. So basically my name is Cara, but only my family calls me that, like Coco and Kira. My friends call me Cappy because when Tito was younger, he struggled saying his Rs, so he called me Capy instead, short for Capybara, and it stuck. I like having two names. In fact, maybe I'll think of a third. Finally, a very interesting question from James. Take it away.
Capi
So, Pappy and Tito, this is a statement before my question that you don't need to take off using the wheels for handwriting. You can use an airplane. Here's my question. I've been on airplanes before, but how high can jets go?
Host
Tito's taking this one. He said, it's a good question. James. I know all about the planes. I see them when I'm out flying. So, you know normal commercial jets, the ones that people use to go on holiday, they fly at about 30,000ft. That's about 20 Empire State Buildings on top of each other or 30 Eiffel Towers. But there are special jets that can go even higher. Military jets can go up to 65,000ft. That's twice as high as a holiday plane. Crazy, huh? Me as a chickadee, I top out at hundred feet. So nowhere near as high as those. Now, I had a couple of questions for this duo, too. I wanted to know firstly, how do these two tackle being best friends when they are so different? Cappy said, it's easy, really. Friendship's awesome. So when you find someone who makes you feel happy, you just let go of any reasons you think your friendship might not work and see what happens. See, we're totally different animals. We're different sizes, have different tastes, different families, different things we like to do. But I find that if you have an open heart, you can learn so much from people that are different from you. And even if you are totally different, like peanut butter and jelly, you might be a perfect match. Tito added, See? See, the most important thing in friendship isn't whether you read the same books or wear the same clothes or come from the same place. It's whether the person is kind, makes you laugh, or supports you, which Cappy and I do for each other. My next question was at school, which one of you is more likely to get into trouble? They did a cheeky little giggle when I asked that. Then Tito said, we're both really good at school. We love learning cool stuff and never do bad things in class. But sometimes Kappy does fall asleep. I have to peck her awake again. And one time, we decided to decorate the classroom for Capybara Appreciation Day and got glitter everywhere. The teacher sat in her chair and got a glittery butt. It was so funny. But we had to stay behind for ages to clean it all up. And finally I wanted to know what's the weirdest inside joke these two share. Cappy said, oh, we do so much funny stuff together. And the simplest things make us laugh and laugh when we're together. So we have so many jokes. The weirdest one is that we once kept a slice of burnt toast for five days and took it everywhere. We called him Bernie and spoke to him like he was real. It ended when Tito dropped him in a puddle. But we still talk about our old friend Bernie all the time. And no one knows he was a piece of toast. Oh, what are they like? I love these. Silly, too. Thank you, Capi and Tito, for answering all our questions. I hope you guys enjoyed it, too. Cappy and Tito be going on more adventures very soon, so keep your eyes peeled until next time. Sweet dreams.
