Isis
All the way from the Inland Empire. I'm from the inland emp.
Steph
That was impressive.
Isis
I'm from the ie. Damn.
Steph
He is from the ie. Come on, man.
Isis
I lived in Riverside, I. E. In the building. I lived in Marietta.
Steph
Menafee.
Josh Leyva
Menafee. Shout out.
Isis
Menafee, shout out 951 and today we have, you know.
Steph
Come on, man.
Isis
Legends.
Steph
Legends in the building.
Isis
Josh, you've known them a little longer than me, so I'm gonna let you do the intro. And after that we gonna take a shot with the IE Girls because I. E. Girls, get down. Inland Empire girls. High enough. Get down.
Steph
Damn, they're high enough. You immediately regretted that.
Josh Leyva
You're like, I regret food till food not enough.
Isis
For real, though, Josh, let them know.
Steph
Let them know what the fuck. We got some incredible guests in the building today. You guys might have seen their podcast. They go by the IE and besties representing the IE Hard. We got Steph and Isis in the building, everybody.
Isis
What's up, guys?
Josh Leyva
Hey, besties.
Steph
So. Oh, I like. That's the intro, right?
Josh Leyva
That's the intro.
Isis
Show us how to do your intro.
Steph
Yeah, what's the intro? How's the intro go?
Josh Leyva
We just say, hey, besties.
Sebas
No, we say, oh, wait.
Josh Leyva
Welcome back. We say, oh, yeah.
Sebas
Welcome back, besties, to another episode of IEM Besties.
Steph
What's the origin story for people who don't know, like, who you guys are, what the podcast is about? Like, give them a little run through. What's like, the minute pitch?
Sebas
The minute pitch. Oh, my gosh. We were practicing this on the way here.
Josh Leyva
No, we were.
Steph
It was natural.
Josh Leyva
I knew it was natural.
Steph
Okay.
Josh Leyva
It was natural.
Sebas
No. So I and Bestie started because our amazing producer won. Wanted to kind of put the Inland Empire on the map.
Steph
Damn.
Sebas
We just wanted to show.
Steph
What's his name? Is he cute?
Sebas
Yeah, he's all right or whatever. Saul Gomez, y'all.
Isis
And I know Saul Gomez.
Steph
You do?
Isis
He cute.
Steph
He cute, huh? Is he right behind me?
Isis
He might be.
Josh Leyva
There might be a bullet, like, ready to go.
Sebas
No, you can do that. He's right behind me, isn't he?
Isis
Yeah, I've been to Kolichi Town with him, yeah.
Steph
Oh, we did.
Isis
Yeah. I've been to Mama Por Dios with him. Yeah. Oh, hell, I eat type.
Steph
We got faces I love typical. I.
Isis
Typical. Typical town, bro. Don't hate on Kichitown.
Sebas
I'm a Kichitown hater. I'm not going to lie.
Steph
Really?
Sebas
But only because my family. I'm about to show my family. Let me tell you about I Am Besties first.
Josh Leyva
These guys.
Isis
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Steph
Give us.
Sebas
Give us a pitch. So pretty much, I Am Besties was started to kind of be like, a space for women that wanted to just hang out, like, with friends or, like, with primas, like, kind of like a family gathering. But, like, when all your girls get together and you just, you know, talk about meaningful things, things that make you laugh, things that make you sad. Just like a space where you can be vulnerable in every aspect.
Josh Leyva
Our one line is, we're empowered women who empower women. Women.
Steph
Oh, I love that. That's cool. So you're a new addition to I Investies?
Josh Leyva
Yes.
Steph
How. How did you guys, like, like, glean?
Isis
Was there, like, an application or, like, interview process?
Steph
Were you guys friends?
Josh Leyva
I got invited to be on their pod as a guest. As a guest? As a guest? Yeah, a few times. A few times. And obviously it fell in love with me. So now I'm here. No, when we wanted to add is.
Sebas
When we were looking for someone else. Like, she was just like such a good match.
Isis
So does your area code have to be 951 in order to be on the show?
Josh Leyva
My phone number actually starts with 213, but it's only because I've never changed it.
Sebas
And I'm 909.
Steph
Okay.
Isis
909 is still I E though.
Sebas
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh Leyva
911 is like more like Riverside. You know Beaumont.
Isis
No, 951. 909. I'm 951 still.
Josh Leyva
You're still.
Isis
Till this D1.
Josh Leyva
Shout out to Riverside. Cuz I went to UCR. So out.
Sebas
Yeah, yeah.
Isis
Shout out to Riverside. Riverside. Downtown Riverside.
Sebas
Did you grow up in Riverside?
Isis
No, I actually grew up in la. It's just.
Josh Leyva
Oh.
Sebas
So he's trying to claim and.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, you know when they were born. Late night and they be.
Steph
Yeah, no, he's opposite. He reps ie pretty hard.
Isis
I love it, though.
Josh Leyva
That's what's up.
Isis
Yeah. No, I love that. I mean, I moved when I was about.
Steph
You're such a podcaster immediately. Just seeing how that could be a distraction. And she moved the water bottle out of the frame. She's like, it wasn't even her water.
Josh Leyva
They ain't paying you. Thank you. It was blocking my view.
Isis
First of all, thank you for being here. Honestly, I know you guys have your own podcast, which everybody obviously already follows.
Steph
And if you don't make sure you follow.
Isis
Make sure you follow them, you guys.
Steph
Will generally fall in love. Most of our audience is women. I feel like they would definitely, like, just. They would love you guys. They're not watching you guys already.
Sebas
Yeah, we've had Josh on. Well, I've had Josh on.
Steph
Yeah.
Sebas
Way back when too.
Steph
That was like over a year ago.
Sebas
That was like. Was that even part of. No, I wasn't.
Steph
I had just launched Salud. I think I was probably like six to eight months into Salutation. Wow.
Sebas
I think you were talking about.
Josh Leyva
Wait, how long have you been on the Platica for now?
Steph
Going on three years, two and a half years.
Josh Leyva
Three years.
Steph
I might have just got on La Platica.
Sebas
No, I think you were just about to start it.
Steph
Just got on.
Sebas
Yeah.
Steph
Just got on. Yeah, yeah.
Sebas
Because I feel like mostly we talked about Salud when you were on.
Steph
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh Leyva
It was.
Sebas
That was a good episode.
Steph
That was a really good episode.
Isis
Yeah. Great.
Sebas
Yeah. It was so much one of the.
Steph
Best podcasts I've ever done. Honestly, I wasn't a part of the show. I don't think I was. Because I don't think I ever brought it up to you.
Sebas
Yeah, I don't, and I don't. I feel like that's something you would have thought. Yeah.
Steph
Yeah.
Isis
Unless he was already on. Just didn't talk about.
Steph
Just didn't care to talk about it.
Isis
That can also be an option.
Sebas
Yeah, let's see that.
Isis
He just didn't give a. To talk about it.
Sebas
That's true. You weren't that.
Steph
Before we started the episode, I asked him. I was like, is there anything off the table? They did the same thing to me. And I said, yeah, la platica. Just don't bring it up. Don't bring it.
Isis
What happened?
Steph
Don't bring it up.
Josh Leyva
I said, don't. No platica de la platica.
Isis
Exactly.
Steph
Okay, hold on. We're gonna find out.
Josh Leyva
20. 22. Two years ago, bro.
Steph
I think.
Isis
Can you.
Steph
Oh, Jess, can we do some serious investigating work right now? And see, when I came on la, like I'm. As an OG.
Isis
Okay. June 29, 2022.
Steph
22. Okay. I. I think this might. You might have asked me the next day. I'm not even joking. You might have asked me the next day.
Josh Leyva
Damn. No, so it's really your fault. You didn't come on. But you know what? It was meant to be because you were waiting for me to get there too.
Steph
Right.
Josh Leyva
So you know what?
Steph
I also. Yes, exactly.
Sebas
Yeah.
Steph
It needed to happen like this. I also feel like you would have told me to bring up, like, it would have been like.
Sebas
Yeah, definitely.
Steph
Yeah.
Sebas
This is actually my first podcast, like, ever. I've only ever been on IE and Friends.
Steph
Oh, shoot.
Isis
Really?
Sebas
My first guest podcast, technically, as a. As a podcaster.
Isis
Really?
Josh Leyva
This is my first official one because I was a guest on Besties. Yeah. So this is like my. Like, I would feel like my first time since I've been on Bestie. Yeah. Being a podcast. So I feel great being on the number one Latino podcast in the world.
Steph
We never said that.
Josh Leyva
He didn't say that. And the guy is not behind my head.
Isis
Josh had the incredible idea to have you guys on, and this is my idea.
Steph
This is my idea.
Isis
I. It was so cool because he's talked about you guys before. Obviously. I've known you guys. I met you guys. But I thought it was such a good idea, too, because you guys are like that prima that everybody wants or has. You know what I mean? That prima. That sister that, you know, you can talk to about Anything. And like you said, whether it be high lows. And I said, yeah, of course. Because I feel like so many people and 90% of the viewers here are women. And I think it is literally 90.
Steph
We just pulled that.
Isis
Yeah, it's actually 89.9.
Steph
Oh, it's one. I think it was one.
Isis
It doesn't make a difference.
Steph
Doesn't matter.
Sebas
Damn.
Steph
That's 100%.
Isis
So we do everything for the ladies. Always.
Sebas
I love that.
Isis
Always. And for the.
Josh Leyva
As a man, you should. Exactly.
Isis
Always.
Steph
That's been my whole life. Like, this is how I've lived my life. Just. We got some answers here. June 13th. So I was on the.
Josh Leyva
Damn. But you know what? They probably recorded this a few days before.
Isis
No, bro.
Steph
It literally might have been, like, you asked me. Probably a couple days.
Isis
Nah, bro. You didn't want to talk about it. It's okay.
Sebas
You're like.
Isis
You know what? You're probably like, yeah, I'm a join, but I don't know where it's gonna go.
Sebas
No, you know what it was. We just. We didn't ask. We didn't. That was on me as a podcaster, as a minute. It should have been definitely not. My.
Josh Leyva
You see? Women hold themselves accountable. But that'll be the last time today.
Sebas
Yeah, that's the last time I'm fighting a man.
Josh Leyva
That's the last time.
Isis
Yeah. No, no. Anyways, we'll make it up.
Josh Leyva
We'll make it a. Our studio's in session and we'll have the full.
Sebas
You will be our first guest. How about by himself?
Steph
By himself.
Sebas
Okay. Perfect.
Isis
See, they didn't like that idea. Yeah, they need Josh.
Steph
There was a little bit of hesitation.
Isis
Yeah.
Steph
She's like, yeah, I guess. Yeah, it's okay. We'll bring him over.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
You know what? It was. Josh invited us here, so I feel like, you know, reciprocity.
Isis
Well, it was a conversation that we both had, and I literally just said it now. I literally just said, it's an amazing idea. Those girls have an amazing personality.
Josh Leyva
No.
Sebas
100%. You know why we're going to have you on? Because you're from the ice.
Steph
Exactly.
Sebas
We need to. We need to show the. Yeah. The talent that's like, representative of U.S. inland Empire.
Steph
Do that when you go on the podcast.
Sebas
Exactly.
Steph
That's gonna hit, bro. That's gonna hit.
Isis
Yeah.
Steph
That's all he says.
Josh Leyva
That's all he says. Yeah.
Steph
There's definitely more to him.
Isis
Right? No, but honestly, thank you guys so much. And by the way, everybody, ladies and gentlemen, I Mean, can we just appreciate camera three that's on these two beautiful women? It looks like we're in Denmark.
Josh Leyva
What the.
Steph
Guys, if you guys are gonna clap, clap.
Isis
No, honestly. And I just want to say shout out. Shout out Matt and Jess for setting it up like the TVs with. With the. With the Christmas decor. It looks. It's never. It's never looked this good.
Steph
It's a La Platica wonderland.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Literally say shout out to Snoop.
Steph
Snoop and a stoop.
Josh Leyva
This is legit.
Isis
You know, just. Just straight up. How are you guys?
Josh Leyva
Good.
Sebas
I'm good. Yeah. We.
Isis
We appreciate you guys kind of matching.
Steph
I do like that. This is definitely intentional. I love it.
Isis
We appreciate you guys dressing up. Like, you guys look great, and we appreciate that.
Steph
Yeah.
Isis
And as men, we would like to give you guys your compliments. You guys look great.
Josh Leyva
Appreciate it. Thank you.
Steph
Hair is on point. Make us on point. I love it all.
Sebas
Isis. Isis, I feel, is the one who definitely brings that out of me. Oh, really dressed up. Yeah.
Steph
Okay.
Sebas
Because I'm not. I'm not this. I'm like a lazy girl. Like, I love, like, chilling in sweats.
Isis
Yeah, okay.
Sebas
Yeah. But then when Issa started coming up, she'd, like, show up and I'd be like, damn, I gotta low key match that energy.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
I. I honestly, Steph is, like, so great to dress up.
Isis
Yes.
Josh Leyva
Looks patriot.
Isis
What the. That's my line, dude.
Steph
They're like the girl version of us. That's why when I had them on the pod, bro.
Sebas
Nah, y'all the male version of us.
Isis
That's cool. That's fine.
Steph
That's cool.
Isis
Don't hurt us. That's funny. Like, everybody here, like, that has that. That watches La Platica knows that I always say, let's kiss.
Steph
Yeah, that he does. Not that he really means it.
Sebas
Do you guys hug each other?
Steph
Oh, yeah.
Sebas
Yeah.
Steph
Really affectionate. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Isis
We fucking ran a half marathon together.
Steph
Literally together. Pretty much.
Isis
Pretty much.
Steph
Pretty much.
Isis
Kinda.
Steph
There was, like, one moment where he's like, hey, I think I'm gonna pick it up a little bit. And then he, like. I was just like, okay, sure. You're gonna leave me, right? And he didn't. He didn't leave my side.
Josh Leyva
What was your time, friend?
Steph
We did two hours and 15 minutes for a half marathon.
Sebas
Oh, okay. Damn.
Steph
Is that good? No, I'm being serious. Like, is that, like, respectable?
Sebas
I don't know, because I feel like men just naturally are a lot faster. Yeah, yeah. Your wife is exceptional.
Steph
Like, I wouldn't compare myself to her ever.
Isis
She's a road runner.
Sebas
No, she's a beast. No, literally, for the half. For the Rose bowl half marathon, we started together, and she was like, do you want to run the first few miles together? And I was like, sure. What's your pace? She was like, eight minutes. I was like, oh, girl, ain't no fucking way. I'm at, like, 12 minutes. Like, I'm not a fast runner at all. So when I saw her, I was like, see you later.
Steph
If you push yourself, though, like, what. How fast could you run a mile?
Sebas
Realistically, I think my fastest would honestly be, like, I could probably do, like, a little bit, like, one or two and like 9:30.
Steph
That's really good.
Isis
Which is great.
Sebas
But I'm like, pushing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, really hard. I really stay out, like, at 11:30 pace.
Steph
Okay.
Sebas
But I'm not, like, I'm not too focused on that because to me, I'm just trying to get people to run.
Steph
Yeah.
Sebas
Like, I love that. Yeah. Like, I don't. I feel like with the Internet, especially with bitches, like, mile one, mile two. I'm like, girl, you're not even breaking a sweat. It, like, intimidates you.
Steph
Feel like, a little bit like it's kind of, like, staged. You think people stage it?
Sebas
No, because I don't sweat that much, so I know people, like, probably don't sweat. Yeah, I know a lot of people sweat too, but so when I started seeing girls that, like, don't really. So I was like, okay, I'm not tripping, but it is intimidating of, like.
Steph
Right.
Sebas
And they're going fast.
Steph
Yeah. The shoulder mile time is like 6:30.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
It's discouraging. So, like, I feel like right now I'm just trying to get, like, running and being like, okay, it doesn't matter how. I'm a big believer. And it doesn't matter how fast you run. No, we're all going the same distance.
Isis
The fact that you show up.
Sebas
Yeah, exactly.
Isis
Is. Is quite the accomplishment. Yeah.
Sebas
Was this your first race?
Isis
First?
Steph
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've never done anything, like. Not even like a 5k, nothing.
Josh Leyva
Zero to half a mile.
Steph
Like, I. The most I ever ran or half.
Josh Leyva
A marathon with the poster. I'm like, run, Steph, run.
Steph
Keep going, Keep going.
Isis
Yeah.
Steph
No, I went from three miles to eight miles, and then I just did the half marathon. Like, I did that. I went. I ran three miles, the most I've ever ran in my life. And then I jumped to eight and then he Was like, let's do the half marathon. We train for three weeks.
Sebas
Oh, okay.
Isis
That's not bad.
Steph
Yeah.
Isis
Yeah. But there's something that happens to you when you start running with thousands of people supporting you and clapping that it just gives you such an adrenaline, such a push.
Steph
Yeah, man.
Isis
Such a. Like when you play video games and you drink the juice and it just gives you that power that we weren't.
Steph
I honestly don't even know what video game.
Isis
What? Now I'm a child because I play video games?
Josh Leyva
No, no, no, no. We're curious.
Sebas
No, I want to know which one. Okay, can I guess? Because I feel like I know which one it is.
Isis
What? Video games?
Sebas
No, no, no. What? The juice shit. Is it Minecraft? It's not Minecraft, but.
Steph
Were you talking about Space Jam? The secret.
Isis
Mike's secret stuff? No, I would have said that.
Sebas
Then what video game?
Isis
Because I feel like, I don't know, like Fortnite.
Sebas
Okay, that's the one I was thinking of. That's what I was. I confused Fortnite in Minecraft all the time because they're practically the same, except one's pixelated.
Steph
Yeah. They drink a juice and then we.
Isis
Can stop talking about it like without a drag it off.
Sebas
You're so right.
Josh Leyva
You're so right.
Isis
So nothing wrong with Minecraft. Damn, bro. There's like a thing going on here. I didn't know.
Steph
I don't play video games. I don't play video games.
Isis
I go myself.
Josh Leyva
Just kiss a shot.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
It'S about that time, right?
Steph
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
You know what?
Steph
Christmas dog, I'm sad that I forgot.
Josh Leyva
I was gonna bring you guys buzz balls. Because you know in the ie, it's like. Yeah, it's like bless the bottle. What is that?
Isis
They say that in the Ellen Empire, right?
Steph
I. Can I tell you something?
Isis
Buzz balls sell the most.
Josh Leyva
Yes. That's everything.
Isis
That's like anywhere elsewhere in the world.
Josh Leyva
No, no, that's. That's not best ball.
Sebas
The only reason I support it is because it's a women owned business.
Isis
Isn't it? Isn't it great?
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
And for everybody who doesn't know. Yeah, you're right. It's. It's a woman that. It's Una.
Steph
Where?
Isis
I know.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
And she's like from like Kentucky or something, bro.
Josh Leyva
No way.
Isis
Probably not Kentucky.
Steph
It's okay.
Isis
We'll fact check it Jessica story too.
Steph
Before you click on it because I want to see if I remember this. She wanted to drink cocktails by the pool and she didn't want to like, spill.
Isis
Yeah.
Steph
So she wanted to create a cocktail where she can just have her, and then also she feels like there's, like, with alcohol, like, sometimes it's too much liquid when you have a cocktail.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Steph
So she just want to make something compact that gets the job done.
Isis
You know who told us that?
Josh Leyva
Who?
Isis
I think Mark Cuban. It's some guy that he.
Steph
No bro.
Isis
No, I understand that he owns Beatbox.
Sebas
But he told us he owns bro.
Steph
When we had Mark Cuban on the podcast. Do you remember when he looked us in the eye and he told us about Beatbox? It wasn't anything else, is it?
Sebas
How. How is that, you guys? Like, I feel like that is such a huge.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, congratulations.
Steph
That was, like, real.
Sebas
Yeah, congratulations.
Josh Leyva
When you got, like, do your little pit. Not a little, but when you got to do your piss. But you know what? I. I realize that I do say little a lot. And I mean, I don't mean in a minimizing way.
Isis
No, it's an ie thing.
Josh Leyva
It's an eye thing. No. Tell people, like, oh, like my little this or my.
Isis
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Or like, even my. Like, my job. I like. Oh, make my little job.
Isis
Whatever.
Josh Leyva
Like, I don't mean it in a way to minimize.
Isis
Right.
Josh Leyva
I don't know.
Steph
I never take it like that. I never take it like that. And I'm kind of curious the people that do. I'm like, you're looking way too into this. Like, it's just a statement. Yeah.
Isis
Yeah.
Sebas
Is this part of the bottle thing, or is this just your guys? This is our fancy ass shots.
Isis
Oh, these are just the shots.
Josh Leyva
What.
Sebas
What are you drinking? What's like, what are we drinking?
Isis
Oh, right now we're drinking this bottle called Reservo de la Torre 100. It's a good brand. Yeah. Yeah.
Sebas
Okay. Well, I like the bottle.
Steph
No, this is good. This one's delicious.
Isis
It's good.
Steph
Super good.
Sebas
All right.
Steph
Should we toast to the ie?
Sebas
Toast to the ie.
Isis
We're gonna toast to the IE and toast to these women being here and doing.
Steph
You guys make sure we clink.
Isis
Everybody get a little and doing your guys's thing for real.
Sebas
Thank you. Thank you for having us. If you're at home, get a shop. Pause it right now.
Isis
This show is probably like 6, 7am right now, so it's early, but it's Christmas vacation time.
Steph
Vacate you on vacate after Halloween.
Isis
And P, it's cold, so you got to warm up.
Sebas
Cheers to that.
Steph
It's snowing outside. You got to warm up.
Isis
Location unknown.
Josh Leyva
We're In Aspen right now.
Sebas
Oh my God.
Steph
Are you. What's your guys's like go to drink tequila? Yeah.
Isis
Buzz buzz.
Josh Leyva
A buzz ball is like my like when you. When you're dropping not you're not driving but when you're in the car somebody else, not me responsibly. But like I feel like buzzwords are good because you just shake them and then you just drink them on the way over.
Isis
Why do you shake them?
Steph
Guys, the holidays are an amazing time to find out you actually don't know what people in your life really want. If you want to get them something practical. Let me tell you something. They probably already have it. My go to something they could use every single day and could use multiple of like Raycon's everyday earbuds. Ain't that right Sebas?
Isis
What? I can't hear you. These Raycons have really good noise cancellation.
Steph
Well that's the thing about Raycon's everyday earbuds are a must have for any audio lover like Sebas himself. Ain't that right Seas?
Isis
What are you saying?
Steph
And making for an amazing holiday gift for anyone on your nice list. Even your naughty list. Right Celeste? I know you're on that list. They already have tens of thousands of five star reviews online and their latest model is better than ever. Better than ever.
Isis
Why do you keep tapping me?
Steph
With a 32 hour battery life and multi point connectivity that lets you pair with two devices at once. We could be sharing the same listening to the music. Doesn't matter. These earbuds also come with active noise cancellation. He knows all about that.
Isis
What?
Steph
It's a feature must have for me while I'm traveling home or you know, when I need to unplug from the chaotic festivities for a second. You know it's popping out here. Sometimes I just need to disconnect. Right Peezy.
Josh Leyva
Sure.
Steph
This is also a feature that can be difficult to find on an accessible price point.
Isis
Until now Raycon start at just half the price as other premium audio brands. Did you know that?
Steph
I didn't know that.
Isis
Well now you do. Because I have my headphones off.
Steph
Raycon's everyday earbuds are also available in a variety of vibrant colors which are a big hit to unwrap. Trust me.
Isis
Trust me. Look, I'm going to tell you one thing. I cycle a lot. I use these a lot. They don't fall off my ear. And you know I thought about the other day and I said damn, what am I giving my cycling buddies? You know for Christmas? She I'm getting the Raycons. And there's so many cycling buddies that I'm basically getting two Raycons for the price of one.
Steph
And there's so many colors that you can.
Isis
There's so many colors.
Steph
Save big for the holidays and get up to 25% off site wide at buyraycon.com La Platica. That's right. You'll get up to 25 off everything on Raycon's website when you go to buyraycon.com La platica buyraycon.com La PLATICA buyraycon.com.
Isis
What?
Josh Leyva
Well, just because sometimes, you know, the bottle. Yeah. It sits at the bottom. Really?
Isis
I didn't know that.
Josh Leyva
I always shake it.
Sebas
I don't really drink, guys. I stopped drinking. I'm not gonna lie. Like, I feel like I'm definitely not in my drinking girl era anymore.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, I hate it. I literally hate it.
Isis
Yeah.
Sebas
I didn't have a choice, but I also kind of did.
Steph
Okay.
Sebas
So it's. And it's one of those things where it's so annoying, like, when, you know, people are like, go to the gym. And then you go to the gym, you're like, fuck, I do feel better. That's kind of like what happened to me when I should.
Isis
Which you should.
Steph
Yeah. It really does not drink.
Sebas
And especially with, like, running, like, a huge difference.
Steph
Yeah.
Sebas
But I will drink occasionally.
Josh Leyva
Like, literally. I had my birthday party at her house, and she didn't even drink. I was blacked out. I was like, come on, Steph, you got to drink. You're, like, not going to go. You just got to walk to the living room. And she refused to drink.
Sebas
It messes up. I'm ill. Like, physically. I have, like. So when I drink, what is it called?
Steph
Is that you make that up?
Sebas
It's real.
Isis
Is that who you are?
Sebas
No, no, for real.
Steph
Is that her nickname?
Sebas
It's the, like, Mexican way to say ibs. I don't know.
Steph
Okay.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, just have ibs.
Sebas
Yeah. So when I drink, like, it messes up.
Isis
Did you say bad? Have ibs?
Sebas
I don't have it, but I've seen stomach problems. This is true. Scientific.
Steph
No, straight up. This is very true. Very true. The most beautiful women I've ever met. Stomach problems.
Sebas
Yeah. That's why I like to think that, like, Beyonce, like, oh, for sure she has stomach problems. Yeah, for sure. She gets bloated, and that's why alcohol does.
Isis
So IBS gets you hella bloated.
Sebas
Yeah. Yeah.
Steph
But, like, uncomfortably, like.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
Like, it's not even, like, or anything like that. It's literally just gas, like, stuck.
Josh Leyva
So I don't have ibs, but shout out. Shout out to the.
Sebas
Yeah, shout out to ibs.
Isis
Can guys get ibs?
Sebas
Yeah, of course.
Steph
Can I get one? Can I get an ibs?
Josh Leyva
Hey, just make a appointment with your doctor. I feel like bad is universal, though. You know what I'm saying? It's not, like, exclusive to a gender.
Isis
I love that. Bad. Get ibs. That's what's up.
Steph
Put that on a T shirt.
Josh Leyva
We are so. It's true. Yeah.
Sebas
Don't get at you.
Josh Leyva
I love that.
Isis
So you guys didn't know each other before. Okay. So, like.
Steph
And why don't you ask her to be a guest?
Isis
Yeah, but hold on. Let's get a little deeper. I feel like women. It's really hard for women to really connect with other women.
Steph
Great points. Great point.
Isis
Like, I can me, Saul, for the first time, Right.
Steph
Boys for life.
Isis
And I'm fucking kissing this for the first day. Well, but for women, it's. It's almost like they don't want to give each other everything that you know. And I get it, but what was it that made you, like. Yeah, we're. We're girls, I think. Do you agree that it's a little harder for women to connect, like, when. When men connect. Right.
Josh Leyva
I think yes.
Isis
Say something, Josh.
Josh Leyva
He still heard that you said, like, you and so. But we won't cut that out. No. I feel like it is true for. For most of women.
Isis
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
I'll let you answer about what you thought about me. Oh.
Isis
Because also, like, do you feel like women should, like, maybe stop being that way.
Sebas
No.
Isis
With other women, or should you always stay in a reserved pocket?
Sebas
I don't think necessarily set the years reserved. I think women are more selective, and I think men's relationships tend to be a little more superficial.
Josh Leyva
Surface level.
Sebas
Yeah. So I feel like with women, it just means more to let somebody in.
Isis
Got it.
Josh Leyva
Like, you and soul can make out, and the next day you don't even know it's his birthday or.
Sebas
Yeah. Like, you guys don't call each other.
Isis
Okay. Right.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
But it won't be okay for a woman not to know another woman's birthday.
Josh Leyva
Not if she's your close.
Steph
Yeah, she's your bestie.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, she's your bestie. No, I. I feel for me, I think it's something that you have to be taught when you're little. Like, I. All my family's all women. Like, I have a bunch of sisters. My mom Had a bunch of sisters. So I feel like for me, I really like synced with Stephanie immediately. I think it's a vibe. Like you're gonna get a vibe off of every woman because some women operate off insecurity, some women operate off confidence, some women operate on just open mindedness, and they're just open and receptive to anybody who wants to meet with them. But there's some people who are guarded because they've been in situations where women are catty. So I think it's all circumstantial.
Isis
Catty is the word catty?
Josh Leyva
Yeah, absolutely. It's circumstantial and I think it's based off your experiences. But I think for us it was just like really natural and easy. I feel like Stephanie's like a better part of me. She's like the more peaceful kind, you know, down to earth. And I'm just like, what the fuck?
Sebas
I'm like, let's calm down. She's like, fuck, no.
Josh Leyva
I was literally texting her. I'm like, what the fuck do you think I should say? She's like, I don't think you should respond. Like, just let it go, boy.
Steph
Drama.
Josh Leyva
No, no, it's somebody like, you know, people on the Internet just like want to say and they were mad that I look good on my photo.
Steph
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
And so I was just like, I'm a DM her, so I DMD her.
Steph
You did?
Josh Leyva
I did. I was like, well, hopefully you had a life that was worthwhile enough to care about. God bless.
Isis
God.
Josh Leyva
I didn't say God bless.
Sebas
And I do think, especially with energy, it's big because, like, I feel like, like I said, like, it's kind of rare for me to find a woman that I'm like, damn, I really want to be like that. Like, I really has something that I want to take from them.
Isis
Yeah.
Sebas
And I feel like with isis, it's the same thing. Like, I would see her and I'm like, damn. Like, her getting dressed up and like, the way she kind of portrays herself is something that I really admire. So it was easy kind of to I guess be like, you know, I really want to be her friend. Like, it's going to be more than just like podcasting at this point.
Isis
I love that. Yeah, that's cool.
Steph
So when you came on the podcast, that was the first time you guys actually met?
Sebas
No, when we. When she guessed was the first time we met. But we were like around the same people. So, like, I had. We had had like conversations outside of the podcast too.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
But that was the first time that, like.
Isis
And even, like, the first. The first episode you guys filmed by. By your guys yourself was, like, pretty good and flowy and everything was good.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
Like, chemistry.
Sebas
I think it's just because, honestly, we just know how to, like, hair. Yeah. Carry a conversation. Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. And again, like, they, like, they were super receptive, and I never felt like, that's awesome. I gotta.
Isis
It's. It's a.
Steph
You guys have a really good audience, by the way.
Isis
Yeah.
Steph
Like, I just remember when I was on your guys's podcast, like, the feedback that we got. I feel like people are great.
Sebas
Yeah.
Steph
You don't get that from everybody. Like, other, like, channels and stuff like that. What?
Isis
You get, like, a bunch of hard eyes and stuff. The typical.
Steph
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's normal, right?
Isis
Oh, I love Josh. Like, the typical that they say about you.
Josh Leyva
You know what it is? I think it's what Stephanie said. Like, it's the energy that you give. So I think, like, when we make our podcast, like, we produce a very intentional. And our goal is always to be like, how do we do better? Right. Like, whether we're educating people because we're talking about, you know, like, politics or we're talking about friendships, you know, our siblings or family, I feel like we're. We never do it in a way that's trying to tear people down.
Sebas
Yeah. And also think we're really, like, really, like, vale madre. Like, we're like, okay, well, you're mad and that's you.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
Like, I don't know what you want me to do about that.
Steph
And you guys said most of your guys's audience is women as well.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Steph
Okay. Do you guys get, like. Is there, like. You guys get hate? Do you guys experience that, like, on. In the comments and stuff?
Josh Leyva
I don't think a lot because of, like, we'll do some shit.
Isis
Okay.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
Like, I wouldn't say we get really, though. It's like those, like, trolls almost like, that leave, like, every now and then.
Josh Leyva
They'Ll be like, stephanie looks so high. And you don't respond like, stephanie, what's wrong with your voice?
Sebas
Yeah. Like, people will be like, oh, my God, Stephanie looks so good in this episode. And then I, like, will say nothing to them, and they'll be like, fudge you. I'm like, oh, okay. But it's usually like, men.
Isis
Damn.
Sebas
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But as I was telling isis, like, I'm like, my favorite form of, like, like, feminine aggression towards men is, like, ignoring them. Like, you don't exist in my world. I'm not even going to give you, like, the chance.
Isis
That's when you really get us.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
Because I'm like. You're literally, like, irrelevant. I don't care about your existence. I'm not even. I'm going to act like you don't.
Isis
Ouch.
Sebas
Yeah.
Steph
And she means it, too.
Sebas
I do.
Steph
She just, like, did this and looked at me. Are you talking?
Isis
I get that 100%. It's been the 30 minute mark.
Steph
Oh, shoot.
Isis
Ladies.
Sebas
Already?
Isis
Yeah, already. What do you guys think if we just go on a quick break real quick?
Josh Leyva
Let's do it.
Isis
Me and Josh have some things planned to talk about. We want a perspective from you guys as well.
Sebas
Okay.
Isis
Yeah. And we have so much more to talk about.
Sebas
Let's do it.
Isis
I feel like I'm enjoying this. I love it when there's girl power here in the stew.
Steph
Come on, man.
Isis
Cheetah Girls, like, girls in the building. I feel like sometimes it's like, just me and Josh and, like, too much. If I can be real, like, I get over this full. So, like, having you guys, like.
Sebas
Ah.
Isis
What? Like, what does it say? Something about fresh air. Yeah, yeah. What?
Steph
Breath of fresh. Breath of fresh air.
Isis
A breath of fresh air. Are you sure they say that?
Sebas
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh Leyva
I promise.
Sebas
You know what, though? I did love that one. Yeah. When you guys invited us on, you guys were like, we need some, like, women empowerment. And I was like, oh, I'd love that.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, we appreciate. We're. We're really honored. Honestly, I'm flattered that you guys would invite us here. I'm not that off or anything.
Sebas
I'm just a little.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, but she's. She's, you know, unbothered.
Isis
Yeah. No. Ladies and gentlemen, the Cheetah Girls.
Josh Leyva
Cheetah Girls. Cheetah Girls.
Isis
I love it. We'll be right back.
Steph
Let's get it, baby.
Isis
Cool. All right, Josh, I'm going ask you something. Is giving de ordering a gift offensive? Because, honestly, I wouldn't mind.
Steph
I mean, I'll be honest. Most deodorants I've tried have not been, like, necessarily the best. I'm a little picky when it comes to my deodorants. Maybe not offensive, but you gotta really know me.
Isis
Yeah. Like you. I might be like, hey, yo, Josh, you smell really good. And I know that you probably are picky with your deodorants, Therefore, I know of a deodorant that you're gonna love.
Steph
Is it Lumi?

Isis
We were on break, obviously, and I came back from the bathroom and Isis was saying something so interesting to me, almost profound. No, it made me go like this. So I said, hey, this should be on the podcast. So I wanted Isis to, like, do the whole recreation, recreate the reenactment. What people like to say. Right? Reenactment of what you were telling Josh. Because I think people would like to hear it. Because I think people in the audience would agree.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, I. I was saying.
Steph
Oh, you.
Josh Leyva
Would agree.
Isis
Dude.
Josh Leyva
What? They would agree.
Isis
Where's my car?
Steph
No, go ahead. Your what?
Isis
Dude, where's my car?
Steph
Anyways.
Josh Leyva
No, what movie is that?
Isis
Dude, where's my car?
Josh Leyva
It's old.
Steph
How old are you?
Sebas
She's not that old, but, yeah, I'm 27.
Steph
Oh, okay. Yeah, you don't.
Isis
Yeah, Ashton Kutcher.
Josh Leyva
You know, I'm not a movie person.
Steph
Okay, that's fine.
Josh Leyva
That's fine.
Steph
Classic movie, though.
Isis
Hilarious. Doesn't even matter. Movies like that is who made Me who I am now. Can you say that same? Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Now I'm gonna watch it so I can really know who you are.
Sebas
Yeah. Wait, you know what? Say it, and then we'll ask Josh.
Josh Leyva
Movies are okay, huh? Josh.
Steph
Yes.
Josh Leyva
Le Josh Leva. I was saying that your energy, you have a very feminine, like, aura and energy. And I meant that obviously in the most positive way, because anything related to feminine and women is, you know, amazing. Not woman, but just feminine. I agree something about you. You just feel, like, very warm. Like, you. You can come up to you. You can talk to you. You're very approachable, you know, very. Like, you don't feel, like, rough around the edges, you know? Like, you're not rigid. Like, you just feel very soft, alluring, Like. Yeah, like. Like, just, like. You have a very feminine energy.
Steph
Yeah. That definitely comes from my mom. Like, I said, I was raised by a single mom, so she, like, really taught me how to be vulnerable and how to express myself emotionally. Like, there would be moments, bro, like, I'd be crying, and my mom would literally challenge me. She's like, why are you crying? Why do you feel like that? What do you think made you feel like that? She would, like, dig deep, and it would really challenge me to get myself to think, why am I feeling the way that I do? So as I got older and I was building relationships with men, I would challenge my friends, and I noticed that I wouldn't get the same kind of feedback. They didn't know how to do it. And then I would talk to my girlfriends. Not girlfriends, but friends that were girls. And they would tell me about their boyfriends and how they were having problems and how they couldn't get them to be vulnerable, and I didn't understand that. I was very fortunate to have that as an example for my mom. Why are you smirking at me? I don't like this.
Josh Leyva
You know what?
Steph
There's a smirk. There's this. There's.
Sebas
I don't see it. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna agree with you. I don't see a smirk.
Steph
There's a smirk.
Isis
I didn't see a smirk. I love that.
Josh Leyva
Were you pushing? So is this. This is an example when. When you were telling him about, like, when he didn't want to come get you to go get gas. Is that one of the moments?
Isis
Why are you bringing that up?
Josh Leyva
When you were pushing him to be, like, more expressive?
Steph
Exactly. I was challenging him.
Josh Leyva
You seem to be, like, very, like, stoic, you know?
Steph
Okay, not stoic.
Isis
Define stoic. It's it. It rhymes with heroic.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, very heroic.
Steph
I knew you were gonna see some like that.
Josh Leyva
Stoic is just, like, when someone can, like, handle a lot of things and they don't have a lot of expression.
Isis
You're absolutely right.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. So that's what I'm saying. Like, you come off to me is very more masculine, more stoic, more kind of. You could feel it internally. But you're not gonna let you have a mask. And that's not necessarily a negative.
Steph
He's a Gemini.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Oh.
Sebas
What? I'm.
Isis
Thank you.
Sebas
Finally someone says, I never have a problem.
Isis
No, no.
Steph
But the whole idea of. She said you have a mask. Geminis are known to be like, double two faces.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Yeah. And no, no, not two face in a negative way. But I'm. That's what I'm saying.
Steph
You could say either in a negative.
Isis
Either I'm good or great or I'm incredible.
Sebas
That's the. That's the only two faces.
Josh Leyva
How dichotomy works?
Sebas
Do you. Do you guys feel like. Like, dude, you notice that energy in your friendship? Like, do you guys clash in that?
Steph
Oh, not at all. We've never been in a single fight.
Isis
No, never.
Steph
And even that altercation, that. It wasn't even an altercation.
Josh Leyva
I don't think that was. No, I think that as friends, you have to clarify things. Like, I think when I.
Isis
What altercation?
Steph
The whole gas.
Isis
That was never.
Steph
No altercation. No, no. Even for myself, you know what we did? I was. For a moment, I literally was just like, podcast. I was like, let me just. Because he was like, no, nothing. And I was like, let me create something here. That's when I really, like, picked something out of the back.
Isis
But I was like, he sure did.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. He didn't let that.
Isis
God damn. He sure did.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Spectacular. Give me four.
Isis
I was on TikTok for, like, two.
Steph
Weeks, as people were, and he was completely unfazed. I was in. I was in a big bear with my girlfriend. We were snowboarding, and I couldn't get out of my. My head. Like, it was eating me alive that people were attacking him and his character. Because I was like, it's one thing to, like, say something about me, but attacking my friends and their character?
Josh Leyva
Ye.
Steph
That's where I'm like, I can't breathe. I'm suffocating because I'm like.
Isis
It felt super. Yeah. He called me and he was like. So I was like. I think he was trying to do, like, small talk in the beginning, like.
Sebas
Check in on you. Yeah.
Isis
Just check in. And I don't know, I think I was watching like, the Conjuring 2 or something like that.
Sebas
Just a little moment of peace.
Josh Leyva
Like, I just need to get in touch with my.
Isis
And then he said. He goes, hey, man, like, I just want to let you know, like, you're okay. Like, I really didn't mean it to do anything like that. I'm like, josh, this is social media. Like, who cares what people have to say? If anything, it's great they're watching the video. And not only that, I asked them, I said, well, Josh, do you not like me because I didn't help you that day from. Which was like a year ago.
Steph
More than that.
Isis
It was not even that. It was. It didn't even happen like, a couple days before that. Yeah, it was like a year ago.
Josh Leyva
Oh.
Isis
I was like, are you still mad that I didn't do that? He goes, absolutely not. I was like, okay. And so why the. Do I care about anybody else's opinion.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
Instead of the person that it actually happened to?
Sebas
Right.
Isis
That's a lot. That's how I take. That's how I take a lot of, like, criticism. Criticism is. Is who do I really love? Okay. My mom, my dad. I love Josh. There's, you know, my circle is pretty small. I said, if anything happens, like, say, if any of the habits on social media, and then I'm like, okay, well, did I disappoint my circle? And if the answer is no, then I didn't do anything wrong.
Josh Leyva
That's how I take life.
Isis
And at the end of the day, a lot of these people who make videos of me are like 15 years younger than me.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
Why the would I argue with a little kid?
Sebas
Yeah, yeah.
Josh Leyva
No, that's true.
Isis
But anyways, we're done talking about them. Huh?
Steph
But words at the end of the day can still hurt. You know what I mean?
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
They do allow them to that. And I feel like if there's some truth that you see, it doesn't say.
Josh Leyva
If you identifying it.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Somebody tells them, like, bro, I'm not that. I'm not even sure, but I can.
Steph
Identify that in myself. Right. Like, I get. If somebody's saying that about me, I can have that. Seba's approach. But when somebody is speaking about it towards him, that's why I was like, yo, just making sure that you're okay.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Steph
Because I can't control how he feels.
Sebas
That's not feminine energy in your back.
Josh Leyva
Consideration. You know what I think is, like, a very valuable thing in Friendships that people don't, like, acknowledge. I know. Just kids again. I mean, I don't know if you guys have Patreon, but, you know, Patreon, but.
Isis
But you know, like, it's Patreon the new only fans or what?
Josh Leyva
We don't do that kind of content on our Patreon exclusive. But no Triple X. You know, like, just like an additional few minutes of, like.
Steph
We should talk about it, like, off camera. Because I really. We've been curious about, like, Patreon seeing, like, if it's.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, I am. Besties has a Patreon, but.
Isis
We had Jenica Rivera and she said he wasn't as approachable as. As. Well.
Steph
No. What she said? Yes, she did say I was.
Isis
She said that.
Steph
She said I was like, I give more. Like, I'm intimidating.
Josh Leyva
Really? Yeah.
Steph
That's what she had said.
Sebas
I think it's because you have a frat boy face. Like, you're like not. And like, not.
Josh Leyva
He loves it.
Steph
What is your sweater?
Isis
Feminine. Feminine. I can't even see the word. It feels so masculine. I can't even say it.
Josh Leyva
Your. Your lips can even, like, mouth.
Isis
What else?
Sebas
But like, like once you start to speak, then I feel like it all, like, kind of melts away.
Steph
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Isis
Frap what you do, bro? I mean, bro, you're wearing a USC hat right now.
Josh Leyva
Damn. And the Air Force nap.
Isis
Yeah, I know, but thank you for saying that. I'm so masculine.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
I really.
Steph
Don't forget the stoic. I really do think you're stoic. I think that was like a perfect word to describe you. Stoic.
Isis
I still don't know what stoic means.
Josh Leyva
I'm telling. It's just someone like, you can endure a lot of hardship and you're not gonna be expressive about it. Like, you're gonna just, like, someone can come and let's say hit my knee and I'll be like, you're not gonna have a lot of pain internally.
Isis
Yeah, I am like that. But also people who I really, really, really love. My wife, my family, Josh, a lot of. Some of my friends as well. I do express myself.
Sebas
Yeah, yeah.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
It's never gonna see it. Yeah.
Josh Leyva
And there's some that just don't cry at all. So we all know problems.
Sebas
Yeah, exactly.
Josh Leyva
I think an undervalued thing about friendships and like, even you guys addressing that is like addressing the uncomfortable topics, you know, like having confrontations. Like, I think when we. I first joined besties, Stephanie's like a super non confrontational person at all, like, like at all.
Steph
Wow.
Sebas
Like, at all, at all, at all.
Josh Leyva
Like, at all. Like, I would be. Like, something would happen and like, as soon as the episode would wrap, I'm like, okay, we need to talk about this. Because I'm. I don't.
Sebas
And I'd be like, no, please, let's all just go home and pretend this never happened.
Josh Leyva
She would be so nervous. And I'll be like, no, like, if we're gonna work together, we need to have clear boundaries and we need to know what we do or don't tolerate, because I'm not going to tolerate. And it's not to say there was ever bullshit, but, you know, there's just little, little misunderstandings, you know, and when you're developing a relationship, you got to know those persons. And part of building that relationship is addressing the uncomfortable. And I think something that I really valued, like being on besties, is being able to have those uncomfortable conversations and having someone who's receptive. Off camera, someone who's receptive. And I feel like we both put things into practice because that's not to say that I haven't done things that probably didn't make her feel comfortable either.
Sebas
And it's one of those things where, like, it's definitely, like, something that, like I said, like, I've been taking from her in the sense where, like, I'm like, damn, ISIS would probably say something. You know what? I'm going to say something now. Like, it has definitely broken me out of my shell in that sense, because it has not favored.
Isis
And that's what it's all about, isn't it?
Sebas
That's what, like, not being confrontational. It has put me in situations that, like, have almost ruined my life just for not saying things that I should have said. Wow. But I just, like, I wasn't used to it, especially because, like, my mom's very, like, like, there was no where to kind of have those conversations. Not talk. My mom, obviously.
Steph
No, no, I get it.
Isis
I mean, my mom said the same thing.
Sebas
Yeah, exactly. So. And I never had sisters, so then I felt like I was like, well, there's no really point in having a conversation because it's not really going to go anywhere. That's. And I, in my head, I was always like, oh, I already know what everybody's going to say. I already know how everything's going to go. And I feel like it just put me in situations that I could have really, really avoided.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. No, I think it because most of my friends that I've been friends with I've been friends with them since middle school. I've always, always, always confronted something. If I don't like it immediately, that's the only way I'm going to be able to be your friend.
Steph
How did you learn how to be like that?
Josh Leyva
That I had a very. I again, I grew up with all women, all my sisters. I only grew up with women. Like, I only know feminine energy. I literally did not, I did not have a boy cousin till I was probably like 16, like 15. 16.
Steph
Wow.
Josh Leyva
So I did not. I only had one uncle. So I only grew around women. And all my family, we're super tight, we're super, super united. And in our family, our rule is like, you can fight, you can, you could talk. We're going to address it and then we're going to move forward. So like from the beginning, if I didn't like something with my sister, I don't like something my cousin, my mom didn't like something with her sisters, like, they would address it and they could be the worst fucking thing ever. And they're still going to move on and they're going to move forward. Because before anything, your family. So that's why I'm super selective with my group of friends. Because I feel like my friends are an extension of me. They're not just like casual people. Those are acquaintances, you know, people that you just meet here today and you're gone tomorrow. But my friends, they're people I do wake up and I've taken my friends, kids to school. They are people that I do wake up and they want to start a business I'm supporting, I'm posting their page. I'm, I'm like, I'll go all in for people because I feel like I would. It's not that I'll do things altruistically, like out of the kindness of my heart, but I do it because I feel like, well, I love you and you love me. Like, wouldn't you do this for me too?
Steph
Yeah. Golden rule.
Josh Leyva
Golden rules. So that's why I feel, I feel.
Steph
Like, like if they run out of gas, like you'd go get.
Josh Leyva
Absolutely. And I have, you know, so that's what I'm saying.
Steph
So at least you could do.
Josh Leyva
It's the, it's. The very least you could do is to have consideration for other people. And so the only way that we can like have a long term relationship is by considering my emotions and how this made me feel. Because it's not always about your intent. Sometimes it's the impact. Right. Because Maybe my intent to tell you you have feminine energy and you could have taken it. What's the demeanor? Right. The impact was I hurt your feelings because maybe your masculinity was shot. But my intention with that could have just been to say you're a very soft, smoking person. You're charismatic, and it'd be easy to approach you. So my intent was to do it with kindness, but you could have. It's misinterpreted it. And that could have been, again, based off your circumstance. So that's why it's important to have consideration for people.
Sebas
And I almost feel like you're not really a good friend if you're not confrontational. Because I feel like with me, and now that I think back to the kind of friend I was, I'm like, I really wasn't being true to you because I'm now holding, like, all this resentment when I could have just addressed it. And now I'm tainting your image for myself when I could have really just addressed it and we could have, like you said, like, just moved on from it. So I do feel like I have learned to be a better friend in that sense.
Steph
Wow.
Isis
Yeah.
Steph
So, like, in the sense of, like, being confrontational is you trying and caring for that person because you care about the relationship, right?
Sebas
Yeah. Like, I don't want it to be, like, ruined by some little thing and.
Steph
Like, bitterness that you're building up.
Sebas
Yeah, exactly. That's. Yeah, that's why.
Josh Leyva
That's. That's probably why most girl relationships don't work out.
Isis
I was about to say that. Don't say I was about to say that.
Josh Leyva
Sorry, I'm cussing.
Steph
No, no.
Josh Leyva
Like, they don't. They don't say the issue and then they're mad. Then they tell your homegirl, oh, my God, did you see last time? She didn't even tell me happy birthday. But she went to her homegirl's birthday party and now she knows, and she's going to tell me. Well, you know, she's upset that you didn't go to her birthday. We're just kidding. You could have told me, you know, I care a lot about you and, like, I would have wanted you to be there.
Sebas
Yeah.
Steph
And I think that's a women thing or that's just like a human thing that we just lack sometimes.
Josh Leyva
What?
Isis
It's both. But women have the. What you said earlier, like, just cattiness.
Josh Leyva
I think that's how we've been, like, socialized.
Steph
Because, like, if it was that. That example she gave about, like, her friend missing her, the birthday party. You wouldn't care as much as what you're saying at all.
Sebas
I do think that it's a societal thing that, like, society makes you feel like you need to.
Isis
No, but I love that you're saying that.
Sebas
Yeah.
Steph
Yeah.
Isis
I love that you're saying that. Like, why. This is why women are the way that they are. Because of that.
Sebas
Not all women.
Isis
No, obviously not all women. But yeah. Yeah. Because if that happens to, like, me or Josh, like, I mean, it's. It's so simple. It's like.
Sebas
But it's nice because even, like, in middle school, you know, you guys would fight, like, fist fight. And then you guys would be best friends, like, the next year. Like, I always love that because I'm like, damn, I would love to beat this ass.
Isis
You are from the.
Steph
I. Bloody knuckles body.
Josh Leyva
The bodies in the restroom.
Steph
That's crazy. That's crazy.
Isis
The girls right now that went to Santa Monica High was like. They're like, what?
Josh Leyva
Bodies in the restroom?
Isis
Body shots. Like. Like alcohol.
Steph
Yeah.
Isis
Not those, baby. No face either.
Josh Leyva
No, you can't touch the face. 30 seconds. Did you guys ever go body?
Steph
Oh, absolutely. That was my.
Josh Leyva
You were beating people up. We were. We would.
Steph
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Steph
It was like. But I played football. It was like a sports thing. This is like a guy thing.
Isis
Like, it was 30 seconds or 13?
Josh Leyva
Like, 13 seconds?
Isis
Like, no. 13 seconds. Like.
Steph
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Like Ms. Yeah.
Isis
Ms. 13.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Oh, my God.
Isis
In a relationship. Yes. No, no, no. Yes. It's. It's. Did we pass Christmas already? Not yet. Right?
Steph
Not yet.
Isis
Sorry. We've been filming so much of December currently. We want to know. We want to know from you guys, what's a good Christmas gift to give a woman? And I want to know, like, whether you've just been dating or, you know, you're in a relationship or you're even married. What's a good gift that women really appreciate? Thank you, Josh.
Sebas
I love a good spa day. I think a spa trip is, like, one of the best gifts because it's something you can do together. Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Like.
Sebas
Or you just give the other person.
Steph
Yeah.
Sebas
And I feel like that goes even for men because I don't think men appreciate spas enough.
Isis
I love a spa.
Sebas
Yeah. So I feel like a spa day is, like, a great.
Steph
I fucking knew it.
Isis
Anything you say.
Steph
Do that little spa. Matt. Matt, you have a spa, right?
Josh Leyva
So you have a spot, right, Josh?
Isis
I love a spa day. Hi.
Steph
I just happen to be vocal about it.
Josh Leyva
That's the most.
Steph
Let me get A rope.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
I love a spa day.
Steph
Love a spa.
Sebas
And especially like here in la, you guys have great spots.
Steph
We have the best spots.
Josh Leyva
The best o go to Koreatown.
Sebas
Korea Town.
Isis
Yeah, they have really good ones. You guys have the Mission in Riverside. They have a good spa.
Sebas
I haven't been to that spa.
Isis
Yeah, Glen Ivy Corona.
Josh Leyva
Is it Corona Corona or where San.
Sebas
Diego has really, really amazing spot. Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Damn.
Sebas
So I would say a spa day. Yeah.
Steph
Oh, that's a good.
Isis
Okay. What about you and that could like.
Steph
Any relate like stage of the relationship.
Sebas
That's good 100, right?
Steph
Because it's not too much. You could just start dating somebody. I got you a spa day.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
Yeah.
Sebas
Go have yourself, you know, go treat yourself.
Steph
Okay.
Isis
But okay, this is the thing though, okay. You're say your man gives you a spa day, right? Which and be real.
Sebas
Okay.
Isis
Would you prefer the spa day that he gets it? Here's three options. By yourself. You and your bestie or you and him.
Sebas
Okay, well, me and my little crazy toxic. Toxic ass is. I don't know if I'm buying my friends a spa day.
Isis
Oh, my God.
Josh Leyva
Your mind went there.
Isis
Are you kidding me?
Steph
So he was like, I got you a spa.
Josh Leyva
So she's going with her man.
Sebas
Yeah, I really.
Steph
You and Isis and then isis.
Isis
That's a lot. That's a lot.
Sebas
Hey, everyone's got to be a little toxic. And that's mine.
Steph
I like a little toxic.
Sebas
Yeah. That just happens to me. Mine. Like I want to be the only one you're treating personally, but I would.
Josh Leyva
Your mom. You and your mom.
Sebas
My mom. Yeah, you're right. Okay, maybe I like that. Yeah. My mom. Your mom.
Isis
No, but the man should be like, hey, I got you a spot. A spot plus one. I don't want you to invite me. I want you to bring either a friend or your mother, whoever.
Sebas
That's okay. Yeah, that's.
Isis
The presentation is okay. Not like, hey, I want you and Isis to go.
Sebas
Oh, okay. But I guess. No, you know what? Maybe I'm just being crazy. You okay. You're not going to lie. I've been a little crazy these past few days.
Josh Leyva
What's crazy?
Steph
That was a little crazy.
Josh Leyva
She's a little crazy.
Isis
That was crazy.
Sebas
A little crazy.
Josh Leyva
She's a little crazy. But it's okay. Like, everybody got to be a little crazy.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
You know, I got about 10% I'm.
Sebas
Gonna say I would still. I would rather it be just be me.
Steph
Okay. Yeah. Not like as with your.
Sebas
Yeah, if he wants. I feel like if you're in the relationship, then maybe like just give it for you and then if you guys have been like together for a while, then you guys can both.
Isis
I love that. Guys, you guys have heard it from set for self spa date. Guys, I know there's only 10 of you that are watching, literally 10%, but the 89.1% that all females espal for your V would be great, especially me.
Josh Leyva
I take a. What's a. Perfect. What's.
Sebas
Are you listening?
Isis
No, no, no. Hold on. It's your turn.
Josh Leyva
Oh, me. Okay. All right.
Steph
So don't be podcasting on us.
Josh Leyva
I was trying to get the besties of what they be looking for besties. Okay. What would I get? I feel like I'm kind of getting old. I'm not going to lie because I literally just talked about this, but I'm like a really good set of PJs, which sounds crazy.
Sebas
That's.
Josh Leyva
But I'm not going to lie. That's underappreciated as somebody. As somebody who like now I don't want to spill my business, but now I can appreciate like wearing PJs at night. I feel like a good sand, organic cotton, Egyptian kind of silk, linear.
Isis
Sounds expensive.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, that's. What. Well, you're getting a Christmas gift. You shouldn't give me the Costco ones. Even if it's 95% cotton and 5% spandex.
Isis
What's an expensive gift? Like how much. How much money is an expensive gift?
Josh Leyva
How much money?
Steph
What tier?
Josh Leyva
Okay, so it matters how long you've been dating. If you've been dating. I think between the six. Six month mark. I don't think. And okay, if you're six month mark, but you're sure you really like this person? I don't think you should spend more than maybe like 350.
Sebas
I disagree. I think if you're just starting off, you better go off.
Isis
That's what I feel like in the beginning.
Steph
You think it's. You go hard in the beginning?
Isis
Same. I think in the beginning it's the most expensive because I'm like.
Sebas
If you're not trying to match the bar though, then why you could decrease.
Josh Leyva
You could decide crease.
Steph
I don't like that.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, when you're in a. I feel like when you're in a long term relationship.
Isis
But Steph also doesn't like that you gift her friends a. Oh, y'all got.
Sebas
Money to get my friends a spa day. But yeah, can't buy me like a more expensive gift.
Josh Leyva
Okay, you Know what? Then I'm lying. I'm going be honest. If I dated someone in the first six months, like my first Christmas to them. Yeah. My first Christmas I dated somebody, they gave me like 20 gifts.
Sebas
Yeah, there you go.
Steph
And then how did they follow up? Did they go down?
Isis
Yeah, every year.
Josh Leyva
I don't think. I don't think I got a Christmas gift.
Sebas
It was for the rest of your life.
Josh Leyva
I didn't even get for my birthday, actually.
Isis
Wait, 20 gifts?
Josh Leyva
Yeah, I got. I got a bunch. It was like. No, like, okay. Like 10, 15, like a little basket.
Steph
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
It was like a. Clothes. Jackets, jeans, shoes. I love that.
Sebas
I think socks are under.
Josh Leyva
So. Yeah. Go big. Go big. And then, like, throughout the year.
Isis
I agree with Steph. I think if you. I feel like if you first start dating somebody, they go all out first, don't they?
Sebas
Like, how are you, like, going to.
Isis
Convince this person it will, like, kind of you in the ass later? Like, because they're gonna expect. Yeah, it's like they're gonna.
Steph
It could naturally create expectations.
Isis
Like, here's kind of like a funny example, you know, being now, like, having a house. And one thing that you do is you hire, if you can, like, mobile detailers to come wash your car. So I've had so many already. Right. And because sometimes they just vanish or like, I find a new one. Always the first time that you hire them, tip them something. Okay. But not crazy, because normally I'm like, here's kind of like a really good tip to let you know that, like, I got you. Yeah. And like. Like, when I call you. When I call you, like, come through. But that kind of me. Because then I always gave that the same amount. The same amount. So now it's like, I give a good tip always, but, like, now it's just the same throughout. Yeah. That I'm always going to give this amount. You know what I mean? So it's almost the same thing as when it's the gift. Because if not, I would feel like I always have to top that or, you know, but I have that super masculine mentality.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
That some don't. And I always try to top myself every year.
Steph
Whoa.
Sebas
Amazing.
Josh Leyva
You're a real one. You're a real one.
Sebas
But I also think if you have the means. You know what I mean? Like, if you have the means to continue to spoil your person.
Steph
Of course.
Sebas
And I also think as time goes on, you know, I don't think it can change, obviously, from expensive to thoughtful. I don't think it always has to be expensive.
Steph
Right.
Sebas
I think thoughtful matters.
Isis
Thoughtful is more expensive than expensive.
Sebas
Exactly. And it means more.
Josh Leyva
But I think like if your first one, if it's like less than three months. I do think a meaningful gift is more important than an expensive gift. Because I think you're less than three. Foundation, less than three. I think yes. Because let's say you start doing September and Christmas comes around. It's weird. In the three month mark, you probably dated another three, six, four months. You probably introduced your family. They told you, oh, when I was little, oh, my God, look at this picture. I used to have this like blanket when I was little and I loved and I used to sleep with it. And then you go and you look for a blanket or you ask them to recreate this and link it. I promise you that's going to be more. That's going to be more than the $350 gift. She's like, you thought of that. Like in this short amount of time that you known me, this, this has been such a core memory that you decided to do something more meaningful. And it's gonna. I'm gonna remember this a lifetime. Whereas maybe, you know, a cute little ring. I might have the ring, I might lose the ring tomorrow, you know, but this blanket is going to mean more because you really sat there and thought, how could I bring back some happiness of my inner child? You know? So I think that if you have that three month window, it's okay if you don't do the most expensive gift but do something really meaningful.
Steph
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Hey, but if you guys, it's just.
Sebas
For Christmas, you know what I mean? Like, it's like maybe another shit, like, chill out. But Christmas, I love Christmas. I'm a huge believer of like make people feel super special. Like.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
Okay.
Josh Leyva
Is your love language gift giving?
Sebas
No.
Josh Leyva
Receiving gifts?
Sebas
No, I'm a physical. My love language is physical affecting.
Isis
Physical touch.
Sebas
Yeah. I love being like hugged and stuff.
Steph
I have a story to your point.
Josh Leyva
Okay.
Steph
Okay. I was in eighth grade and I was obsessed with.
Isis
Were you still a frat boy?
Steph
Not yet. I was entering that phase.
Josh Leyva
I was still cracked.
Isis
Yeah, it's still cracked.
Steph
I was obsessed with basketball. Michael Jordan was like my idol, Everything. And I remember at that time there was this chain that everybody was wearing. It was like a Michael Jordan the dog. No, it was like a Michael Jordan pendant. He's doing like. And I remember I told my girlfriend, I love that chain.
Isis
Right?
Steph
Like, I love that chain. And we were just like kind of talking about. I wasn't expecting her to buy it from me. But I was just, like, telling her, like, I love this chain. We end up breaking up like, a month later. She ends up dating this new guy. And I still remember his name. First and last name.
Josh Leyva
I remember.
Steph
I'm not even gonna say it.
Isis
No.
Steph
This is a very popular podcast. Number one Latino podcast in the world. He might find. They started dating for Christmas. She got him that chain.
Josh Leyva
Stop.
Steph
And it devastated me. When I tell you, I was like, on the floor crying, weeping it.
Sebas
Like, I was like, that happened to me with prom. I told this guy, wanted him to ask me to prom, and he was like, no, I'm not taking anyone. And then I told him, oh, well, if I ever got asked, I wouldn't want to get asked like this, this and this. And he asked another girl, and her name was also Stephanie.
Josh Leyva
Damn.
Steph
He asked her the way you wanted.
Sebas
The way I wanted to be asked. Yeah. It was devastating.
Steph
That's how I felt. That's how I felt. Yeah.
Sebas
And then I got asked and he, like, helped ask. Like, he helped the person ask.
Isis
And I was like.
Sebas
And I saw him with the sign. I was like, what? And then he was like. And I was like, oh, no, stop.
Isis
You're lying.
Sebas
That's crazy sad. It was.
Josh Leyva
I would die.
Steph
So I ended up.
Josh Leyva
Oh, my God.
Steph
Just to wrap up the story, this was eighth. Eighth grade.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Steph
I later down in life dating somebody and I tell her this story. I just happened to tell her this story. Just like, this is a funny story that happened to me. It's like, super tragic and whatever. We laughed about it and stuff like that. For Christmas.
Sebas
What do you think?
Steph
She got me that Michael Jordan pendant. Until this day, I'll never forget that gift.
Josh Leyva
That's what I'm telling you.
Steph
That.
Josh Leyva
Didn't that mean so much more? Because she. In a way, she healed a little inner child of you that felt that rejection and that hurt.
Steph
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
And so she was recognizing your pain, and she's like, let me take that memory and make it better.
Steph
Yes.
Josh Leyva
So that's what I'm saying. That's sentimental.
Sebas
I've never had that experience. You know what? I've never really dated guys that, like, give me. Except now. But, like, before, I don't think I ever dated guys who would give me gifts.
Isis
Really?
Josh Leyva
No. I used to.
Isis
Really?
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
I feel like now. I think that's. I think that's why I'm a little more picky, where I'm like, no, you should give gifts on Christmas. Or, like, birthdays. Like, those are special. Events.
Josh Leyva
And I used to be the opposite. I would be like, oh, you don't have to worry. You don't have to get me anything.
Isis
You know, you should have to worry. You know what's the hot. The hottest thing a guy can do.
Josh Leyva
I don't do that.
Isis
Is when it's around Christmas and then you're like, with like, like say like you just been dating like your guy and you guys are still like boyfriend and girlfriend. The hottest thing he can do is saying, hey, babe, so I got you this, but I also got your mom and your brother and your sister.
Sebas
I got you.
Isis
I got him this too. Oh my God, that night, all the positions.
Sebas
Yeah, yeah.
Josh Leyva
Cuz think about it. Even your mom talk about that.
Isis
No, no, real talk. It's, it's, it's. That's what really hits you right here.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
As a woman.
Steph
Yeah. Being considerate.
Isis
Like being considerate about the people that.
Steph
Are important you love.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
That he just met.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
Like that right there is player.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
Because it's not like player as like being a player, but like that's when you know, man. Yeah, like top tier. Like I know how to what a woman likes type. Yeah. But like, only I would say that because I'm masculine as boy.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
And you, Josh, not so much curly pie.
Josh Leyva
Say I. E. Again.
Sebas
It's because he's not from.
Isis
Yeah, he's from Cerritos.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
Anyways, we'll be right back. We're going to go into some quick commercials. I hope you guys enjoy them because Josh and myself, we actually have a great time. We really put in like a lot of effort into these commercials and yeah, that's really it. We got the IE investees.

Isis

Emerging ladies.
Steph
Yeah, emerging.
Sebas
Well, yeah, I don't drink anymore.
Steph
Right.
Josh Leyva
Look, if it would have not been for y'all, she would not be drinking. That could have gone on my knees.
Steph
And this is your first podcast you've ever been on. Good look.
Sebas
Well, yeah, I'm not going to drink that. Yeah, this is my first podcast. Give me a shot. I thought it was like, here, you can have my. Let's share half.
Isis
Hold on, hold on.
Steph
Picked up the wrong.
Isis
Picked up the wrong one.
Steph
That was my bad. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Can you forgive me?
Sebas
Kiss.
Isis
Of course I will.
Josh Leyva
Kiss.
Isis
Of course I will forgive you. Okay, cheers now. Cheers. Thank you guys. We talked about, you know, what some good gifts are and thank you for sharing that.
Steph
Are you like a chaser or something?
Sebas
No, I'm good.
Isis
Yeah, you want a chaser?
Steph
Like a salute?
Josh Leyva
Yeah, she needs a little energy and focus, a little hydration.
Isis
You want to shut up?
Josh Leyva
She's a runner.
Isis
You want a shot of windows?
Josh Leyva
Hey, I have to say though, Dioro to do a hydration and immunity is very fitting because if you're a raver, look, this is not ad, this is not sponsored. But if you're a raver, and this, this is not anything. Just because Diora, when you're a raver, you know, you be doing a lot of dancing, you're staying up all night, you're probably not dehydrated, not eating your proper nutrients in plate. So it's really important, especially now that countdown's coming down next year, you can prepare for edc. Orlando, Vegas. You know, it's really important to hydrate. So I personally love to take these. They didn't have this flavor when I was raving, but it's okay.
Steph
Can you say that one more time real quick?
Isis
Yeah, I feel like Daryl just sent her to say that.
Josh Leyva
No, literally, this is key, like hydrating if you want to stay up on that. If you don't want to get those cramps. Hydrate before the end of the night before you start partying. While you're partying. And if you got a little camel pack. What I like to do is I like to take three packs, open those up, put them in your hydro, fill it up with water, and then you're drinking that because you can't bring in water, but you can bring in. You can put in this packet already in that bag.
Steph
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
So.
Steph
Yeah, I said so to your point. Originally, when I pitched Dior, the idea of, like doing a collab flavor, he had wanted energy.
Josh Leyva
Oh, really?
Steph
So I gave him four energy samples. It was so cool. I literally went to his house. Like, I sampled with him. It was like super cool experience. Then he called me like three days later and he was like, kind of nervous about, like, telling me this new plan he had. But for that reason, he was like, I don't know if energy is the right line for me. I think hydration is because of my job and who I am and what I do and where, like, people, like, come see me at was at festivals, people get dehydrated. People are dancing, you know, they're doing other things, recreational activities. So that's why we went. Hydration. It was like a last minute Molly.
Isis
Is what you're saying.
Josh Leyva
Hey, people do a lot of things that are recreational.
Steph
You do Molly.
Isis
I've never done. I'm scared of that. I'm scared to take Xanax. I'm scared to take. That's good Percocet. I'm scared to do, like, all that stuff.
Josh Leyva
He's like, heroin.
Isis
I was just telling him the story that I. I got Lasik not so long ago. Oh.
Josh Leyva
And they wanted to have something. Okay.
Steph
Not so long ago. Three years ago.
Sebas
Hey, hey, hey.
Isis
Not so long.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, I've been roofied before.
Sebas
That's just scary.
Isis
Yes. And I said I've always been scared of like, man made medication, like Xanax and things like that. So, like, I don't really do that kind of stuff because it scares me.
Sebas
Yeah, I did Molly once, but I was so drunk.
Steph
Yeah.
Sebas
That I don't know what it did to me, to be honest.
Steph
Oh, really? You were like, pretty, like, blacked out.
Sebas
Yeah, I was already blacked out at that point.
Steph
Molly and Stewart.
Sebas
I did it because my boyfriend at the time was like, don't do it. And I was like, you're not the boss of me. Look, look, look, look, look. I drank it, so.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
But it was fine. I didn't. I don't remember anything.
Josh Leyva
People just need to be careful. It's a fentanyl epidemic right now and a lot of people.
Steph
So people lace it, right?
Sebas
Yeah, people.
Josh Leyva
Lacey. Yeah. When you do go to a lot of raves, though, they do have, like, some trainings where they can teach you how to implement Narcan. So when I went to edc, what does that mean? I mean, you could use an arcan. So Narcan is.
Isis
Narcan?
Josh Leyva
Yeah, It's a drug that's supposed to help if you're suffering from an overdose. That's supposed to get you out. An overdose. You put it in through your nose, you push it in and then, like, it'll wake you up, like, it'll revive you. So when I went to edc, you know, although I'm not popping Molly and stuff, I'm like, people around you are doing drugs. And even if it's not your crew, I've seen people literally have seizures on the floor. So I've always. Every time it's available and it's free, I'll just go do the little training and then they'll give you a whole bunch of Narcan. So till this day, I still have like five, six Narcans.
Sebas
Modern day cpr.
Steph
So can you bring it with you into the festival?
Josh Leyva
Yeah. They allow that? Yeah, at edc. They actually had it at the festival. I stayed at the campground. So at the campground, they do like a training, like they showed you. Like here, you take it off like this, you implement like this. And you can literally save people's lives by having our can. So if you party or your friends party, make sure you get an arcan. You can actually get it at your cvs.
Isis
Oh, really?
Josh Leyva
You just buy your pharmacy. You could. Oh, we have to go to a pharmacy.
Steph
Oh, got it.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. But it's really important. If your insurance covers it, I would get it. But if you party hard or your friends party hard, I 100 recommend it. There's so many people that are getting laced by drugs.
Steph
And so that will, like, help if you are laced. If you.
Josh Leyva
If you're overdosing, that will revive you. Yes, it is a life saving medication. Like, it will save you.
Sebas
How did you get laced? Like what?
Steph
Oh, you talking about lasic eyes.
Josh Leyva
I thought he was saying, I got my. I got laced. And I was like, what? But then you.
Sebas
Oh, you're talking about sick.
Josh Leyva
Oh, my God, girl, I'm over here worried.
Sebas
I'm like, are you okay?
Josh Leyva
I've been roofing you guys.
Sebas
I actually did get lasik as well, though.
Steph
Did you really?
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
No, wait, wait. You told me that right now. I was like, what?
Sebas
I got. Yeah, actually I got.
Steph
No, like, it went like on a different tangent. And I was like, okay. I mean, she's passionate about.
Isis
No, no, that was fine.
Sebas
But that is, you know what? I got Lasik when I was 20, and then I got roofied when I was 21.
Steph
No way.
Sebas
No.
Josh Leyva
Damn. Back to back.
Sebas
Yeah, it was crazy.
Steph
From Lasik to.
Josh Leyva
I was like, wow.
Steph
Wait, so you actually got like, roofied?
Sebas
Like, I don't know if it was roofied, but I was going to a concert and I don't know in what moment. I took something and I just blacked out and I like, the cops put me in an ambulance, they took me to the hospital. They from the hospital because I was very fearful of my mother, even in my 20s and whatever.
Steph
Yeah.
Sebas
And they like wanted me. They wanted me to give them my address and my phone number is to call my mom. And I was like, no, like, she's gonna beat my ass. So they had to let me go because I wasn't giving them any information. And she ended up finding me anyways and she beat my ass, y'all. Yeah, it was crazy.
Steph
But you don't really remember a lot.
Sebas
I remember literally Nothing from like 6pm till the next morning, 10am Like, I woke up in my bed and I was like, what the literal? Just like in the hangover.
Isis
But you were with your boyfriend or.
Sebas
I was with friends, but everyone was drunk. It was like at the time when everybody was like just getting wasted before.
Isis
You got or whatever.
Sebas
Yeah, like we're all drinking in life.
Isis
Were you still. Were you. Were you drunk at the moment?
Sebas
Yeah, I was already drunk, but I wasn't like, at the time I was like a raging alcoholic. So I was like, like there's no way that like me getting this. Like, I've never been this drunk and I've never been that drunk.
Steph
So you don't know for certain how old were you?
Sebas
No, I know for certain because I've like I said I've never. I've drank more than I know I've drank that day and I've never been that up. I was 21.
Steph
Damn.
Josh Leyva
Wow, that sound.
Sebas
I know. Thankfully nothing happened to me, but I have a video of like a nurse just irritated with me cuz I'm like trying to sign out of the hospital and I'd hit clear and then I'd like sign it again and I'd hit clear. I can't yeah.
Josh Leyva
Discharge this right now.
Sebas
Exactly. Just let her go. Yeah. But it was crazy.
Isis
Real quick. We're having fun, aren't we?
Josh Leyva
Yes. I'm having the best time.
Sebas
Had a great time, you guys.
Isis
Good. I'm glad. That's. That's Josh and myself. His whole goal is to make our guests feel very comfortable.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Our goal is to make you 9.9 more feminine.
Isis
I am feminine.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
There's the fun fact. My. I technically was raised with a lot of women in my life because my mom had nine sisters and two brothers.
Josh Leyva
Oh my God.
Sebas
Damn.
Isis
Yeah. So girl power all day long. Yeah. You know? Yeah.
Sebas
Do you have sisters?
Isis
I have three sisters.
Sebas
Oh, okay. Yeah, I feel like it's different growing up with like, like co ed cuz I didn't have sisters, but like I was still really girly because of my mom. But I'll have friends who like, have never heard, like, heard of video games or like, whatever. And I'm like, what the. How did you never. But it's like all for my brothers and my dad, so I think it's cool.
Isis
Yeah, I have a good, like, balance on like male perspective and like female perspective. But I feel like it's always, I don't know, the loves of my life have always been like females.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
You know what I mean? And not.
Steph
No, I don't.
Isis
What?
Steph
What?
Isis
Yeah, like, you know, some people grow up and like, I love my dad, I love my uncles, you know, like, it's whatever my dad. It's whatever my dad and my uncle say, you know, that that's what goes, you know, my grandpa, I with my grandpa, you know.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
Or like I with like my doberman, who's a male.
Sebas
Always a Doberman too.
Isis
But no, a lot of my, my really close people in my life, like, obviously nobody knows who they are, but like my theas, you know, my mother, my sisters, my wife, you know, like, things like that.
Josh Leyva
Don't you think they made you like a better person too?
Isis
Of course.
Josh Leyva
Right?
Isis
Of course.
Josh Leyva
There's just something about women. And I'm not saying that as. As someone who's biased, but like, as my experience living with women and raising women, there's just really nothing like them. I feel like the community.
Isis
Absolutely.
Josh Leyva
How they build you.
Isis
Absolutely.
Josh Leyva
And they pull from their own experiences to make you a better person.
Isis
I mean, just me, the. As in general, just, just. They're just such queens.
Josh Leyva
Warriors.
Isis
Queens Warriors. Just. Just people you look up to, you know, and just. It's just a beautiful thing. So.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
Yeah. Shout out to women I was, what was I doing? What was I going with this?
Josh Leyva
Hey, women are amazing. Is there more to be set up?
Isis
I, I, I'm always jealous on how you guys do this. Like, like, is there more to be said? Like how do you, it's with the.
Sebas
Nails because y'all look at this.
Isis
Yeah, I noticed that. Is that like, is that like your thing or what? Just one now?
Sebas
No, I just, just it, it won't come off.
Isis
Is that for your mo.
Sebas
I was like, you know what?
Josh Leyva
And it's not a pinky. No.
Sebas
Gets in the way of anything. I can't rip it off. It's literally stuck. And this one, I almost ripped my nail off.
Josh Leyva
Oh my God.
Sebas
So I refuse. Like, I know it looks stupid, you guys. I know it, I know it. But I, I don't want to rip my actual nail cuz I want to get nails again and if I this one up, it's done for.
Isis
When do you want to get nails again?
Sebas
Hopefully when this one comes off, they.
Steph
Don'T have like a mechanism that can just pop it off. Off.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, they can. I have a, if you want, I.
Sebas
Can, I just literally I just ripped them off yesterday and I was trying to rip this one off on the way here.
Isis
Oh, you gotta go like put them in like. Yeah, and like dissolve and like whatever familiar.
Josh Leyva
Oh, you get acrylics. Let me see.
Isis
No, no, I sometimes go and they do my nails and stuff and like they do like right here. I don't know what it's called.
Sebas
Oh yeah.
Isis
And then they go like this and they're super shiny.
Josh Leyva
Do you guys paint your nails look pretty?
Isis
I don't paint my nose. No, no, no, I, I, no, I'll.
Steph
Get shine like if I go get a manicure or something like a.
Isis
Of course you would.
Steph
Clear coat.
Isis
Yeah, of course you would get a clear coat.
Josh Leyva
It's important though. I think like you're, think about it, your hands go into a lot of places and it's very important for them to be clean, for them to be prepped.
Isis
Yes.
Josh Leyva
You don't want to have a long ass nail that's halfway coming off.
Isis
And I'll tell you one thing, I have a lot of guy friends, a lot of them. And the number one thing that I told them before is like, yo, what's something that turns you off? They always say nails about girls. Yeah, Girls. If a girl has ugly nails or whatever, they're turned off.
Steph
Turned.
Josh Leyva
Really?
Isis
If the girl has ugly.
Steph
No, I get what you're saying.
Sebas
I know that too though.
Isis
Yeah.
Steph
That's enough.
Sebas
Like they'll be like, oh no. Like my girl's hands need to always look nice. And I'm like, girl, I'm not saying.
Isis
It'S a make or break.
Sebas
Damn, that really changed.
Isis
I'm not saying it's a make or break. I'm just saying they get turned off. Yes, they do.
Josh Leyva
That was. That's like the number 1 1.
Sebas
No. Yeah, but I've literally, I've had friends who are like that too. They're like my man. Like my nails need.
Isis
That goes both ways. That goes both ways.
Sebas
I feel the same. But with guys feet, cuz I hate feet. So I'm like, yo, why do you have some crusty ass dogs out here?
Steph
So could you meet like the guy of your dreams if he has crusty ass feet? Would that be like a deal breaker?
Sebas
Oh, it wouldn't be a deal breaker, but I would never, ever, ever, ever allow them to be around me without talks.
Josh Leyva
Take off.
Sebas
Yeah, like never. I would lit. Actually, you know what? I think it would. That's nasty.
Josh Leyva
Like, I don't know, I feel.
Steph
What if they try? What if they put in eff to have like nice feet but they just don't.
Josh Leyva
I'm like, babe, we're going to go to the spa. Yeah, yeah, you're paying for it. But like I'm going to take you. I'm a treat. I'm going to treat the dogs, you know.
Isis
No, bro was like, if they try, like, okay, cool. At least you're trying. Yeah.
Sebas
Soccer players, like they let their nails grow like around their toe before cutting them. Like, yo, I've seen guys. It's disgusting.
Steph
That's crazy.
Josh Leyva
What?
Isis
Yeah, that's nasty.
Josh Leyva
Their toenails grow that long? Yes.
Sebas
Dude, it's so weird. Men are so weird with their feet and then they're like, oh, it's like girls with cute feet. I'm like, girl, I could appreciate when.
Steph
My girlfriend has like her nails done and stuff like that. But that's not something that's like, I notice immediately, you know what I mean? Like I don't automatically go to the hands and be like, oh, like that. So for example, they would see her nails and be like, that's a deal breaker.
Sebas
Your 10 percenters are right now judging me.
Josh Leyva
Put your hand up again.
Isis
No, it's, it's not necessary. It's not, not really about having them done or not. It's the way it. You can tell cleanliness. You can tell like, oh, you don't have your nails done right now, but you get them done and then there's other people. It's like, oh my God. You really don't care of how your grows out?
Sebas
Their nails are like this. Like they don't as a girl never did.
Steph
I've never seen a girl like that.
Sebas
I have.
Steph
Yeah.
Sebas
Yeah, of course.
Isis
Because you date perfect girls.
Steph
Top tier.
Sebas
Yeah, I know. Really?
Josh Leyva
Do you guys like have like foot fetishes or does that.
Isis
I don't have a foot fetch. I don't like feet.
Sebas
Yeah, I don't like either.
Steph
I don't have a foot fetish.
Sebas
You appreciate a nice.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, you can appreciate.
Isis
Oh that. Yeah, of course you can appreciate nice feet. Like oh wow, this girl has or guy has really nice feet.
Sebas
I'm a feet hater though. Like I don't care that your feet are cute. Get them the away from you. Don't post them on my team. Like block me.
Josh Leyva
You know they say like what do you mean?
Sebas
Like when people post like at the beach and they're like walking are nasty ass feet. I'm like, girl, nobody wants to see that nasty.
Josh Leyva
Don't be posting your nasty if they're cute and you got a little cute.
Sebas
Even if they're cute, I don't want to see when men. I literally. Men should not be allowed to post their feet.
Isis
I agree with her.
Sebas
Men should not post their.
Josh Leyva
Hell no. Especially got some ugly ass. No hairy too.
Isis
I honestly for men, I don't think there's such thing as the perfect foot.
Josh Leyva
That's true. I've never seen like a, like a good foot.
Isis
No, women have.
Josh Leyva
That's not a Ralph Lauren model.
Steph
Right?
Isis
But men feet.
Sebas
Do you guys feel like you have ugly feet?
Isis
No, I don't. I don't feel like I have ugly feet, but I don't feel like my feet are something to look at.
Sebas
Right in the middle.
Isis
I kid you not. I don't have ugly feet. Yeah, when I was younger I always used to wear socks because I don't like feet and people saying, oh, does your foot smell? Well a little bit. But like like now. No. Yeah, but like before, like maybe a little bit. But like I don't, I don't like to show my my toes.
Sebas
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Isis
It's like a thing.
Sebas
No, same. And I like don't touch me with your feet. Like I don' like that's so nasty. If your feet are cold, put socks on.
Steph
Damn.
Josh Leyva
Like no. Against myself.
Sebas
It's so gross. My mom when I was younger, she'd like wait for me to go to sleep and then she'd just go like stick her nasty ass feet under me to like warm them up and I'd be like, girl, I'm getting the out of my way.
Isis
I like that.
Sebas
Yeah, I hate that it's nasty. Or when I see like people going like this with their feet, I'm like your physical test. Yeah, but not with feet.
Isis
I hate fear, you know, it's crazy. Some people love touching each other's feet like this.
Josh Leyva
I'm not gonna lie when I get rid because I have really cold like my hand, the palm of my hand, my feet and one other body part is always super fucking freezing cold. So I always like. I know, it's so embarrassing. My butt. I don't know why.
Sebas
Oh my God, is that a girl thing? Cuz my.
Josh Leyva
Butt cheek, like if you touch the bottom of my foot, it will probably be the same temperature as my ass. I don't know why. Why? I have no idea why. Like it's so weird. But my mom is the same.
Sebas
No, I don't know.
Josh Leyva
Same way too.
Sebas
That makes sense.
Josh Leyva
Just a cold ass.
Steph
Cold blooded butt.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, I'm telling you. But yours is the same way. Okay, so maybe it's a girl thing. I don't know. Have you guys touched your ass?
Isis
My, I feel like my butt.
Steph
I think they might be the warmest.
Josh Leyva
Hey, y'all might got a lot a lot more hair to it.
Sebas
Could be.
Isis
It could be.
Sebas
Y got insulation down there.
Josh Leyva
Exactly. Yeah. But yeah, I don't know why so.
Steph
Interesting butts but's going to go home.
Sebas
Touch your lady's ass and ask your girl.
Josh Leyva
Ask her.
Steph
Well, maybe go your ass right now.
Josh Leyva
My wife's always cold put it their their muffler.
Steph
Can I get a little taste test?
Isis
What's something that you. That's a no no. When you give a gift during Christmas. Christmas. What's a no no. Have you experienced somebody that you were with and you're like oh, that was kind of cringe that you gave me that. Or like even something that you've seen outside of your relationship that's like don't give me this.
Josh Leyva
I think.
Isis
Or like something that guys commonly do.
Josh Leyva
I'm trying to think of one. I just feel like something that has.
Isis
Nothing to do Christmas.
Josh Leyva
Something that has nothing to do with me. Like let's say you gave me like running shoes. Shoes. And I like I'm not a runner and there could be nice shoes but I'm like what the do I look like I'm gonna do with these running shoes? You know what I'M saying, I'm like, maybe I can, you know, take them outside, give them.
Isis
Yeah, yeah.
Josh Leyva
But I just like, don't give someone a gift that has nothing to do with them. Like, nothing to do with them. And it's hard to specify because it just depends on the person, you know? Like, I've had homegirls are like, oh, my God, my man got me headphones. And like, when the do I need headphones for? You know, it's just like, yeah, why the do you need headphones? Like you don't go to the gym either.
Isis
Like, guys don't get your girl headphones Isis will come for.
Josh Leyva
Unless they're like really expensive headphones and you can go ahead and get them, you know? But like, I don't know. I just don't get your girl something that has nothing to do with her. Like you like your homie. Told you, bro. You should get your girl that denim jacket that I just saw there. Your girl don't even wear denim jacket. It's winter right now. She probably needs a little fleece. She needs one of these. You know what I'm saying? Good little vintage. Get a little estate sale, you know, it's like you just estates. I did Palm Springs in a state, so I did get this one.
Steph
It's really nice, guys.
Josh Leyva
Thank you.
Sebas
Yeah, I don't think you should get girls makeup.
Isis
No makeup.
Sebas
I don't think so, cuz. Like, what the do you know? You know what I mean? Like, I feel like maybe a gift card and add it to another gift. I don't think you should get girls, cuz I've gotten used makeup.
Steph
What?
Sebas
As a gift.
Josh Leyva
Damn. What?
Isis
I know, Steph.
Sebas
Talk about, yo, I have really bad experiences. Yeah, it was like a little compact from a boyfriend. It wasn't from a boyfriend, but it was a. Yeah, it was a gift from a guy.
Steph
Okay.
Sebas
Yeah. And then it was like, I don't know, maybe his mom's or something. But it was like de Mara. So I'm sure they thought like, damn, I'm really doing something right now. And it was a leg.
Isis
So like there was like a weo in the makeup.
Sebas
You can see that it was like used.
Isis
It was like rub.
Sebas
Yeah, yeah. Like it happened. It had a few times. And maybe they're like, hey, but that.
Isis
Didn'T stop you from using it, huh?
Sebas
Dude, I really. Okay, you know what? I would have used to, but it was not my color was so white. That too.
Steph
I'm like, I'm brown.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
Like, it gets worse. It was so White. So I was like, I don't think you should get guys.
Isis
Okay. So no use makeup.
Steph
I feel like that's a no brainer though.
Sebas
You would think, you would think maybe.
Josh Leyva
Don'T get her like. No, I wasn't say lingerie is a really good gift. It's a gift that keeps on giving.
Isis
You know what I'm saying?
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Steph
Damn.
Josh Leyva
Damn.
Isis
I'm like, yeah, what else?
Josh Leyva
I don't know what would be a bad gift.
Sebas
They say don't give someone shoes because then they walk out of your life.
Steph
Really?
Isis
Is that a thing?
Steph
I love shoes.
Sebas
I have heard that happen to me. This is all from personal experience.
Isis
Yeah. You're like, Josh, he talks about his personal experiences only.
Sebas
Oh, what else are we gonna talk about?
Steph
I know what else we got.
Sebas
And unfortunately a lot of dumb has happened to me, but I think shoes is a good gift. But I've also gotten shoes a few times and they were never my size.
Steph
Oh.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. It's hard. I don't know. I don't know what's about. I think it just invents like what the gift is and who the person is. I think. Yeah. I can't think of something that I would be upset to get. Oh, don't give me no kitchen appliances. What the. I'm about to cook for you.
Isis
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Unless I ask for it. Like unless you're going to give me.
Steph
I would appreciate.
Josh Leyva
No, don't give me no air. I already got air fryer. I got two storages. No, I don't need an air fry. If you're going to get like, don't get her kitchen. Don't get her something that you will want your mom to do for you, you know, so like, don't get her no, no, don't get her no Dyson vacuum. Get her the Dyson hair wrap. You know, don't get her no pots and pans. Even though your pots and pans are crusty. Get her get. If she's into that. Yes. You know, but like don't get her things that like, you know that you're going to benefit from them. And like it's. It's inherently a benefit for you.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
You know, like again, like the pots, the vacuum house appliances. I feel like those are things you could just get outside of the period of Christmas.
Sebas
Yeah. Like that's not a gift. Get them something for them. Not something that they're going to use diamonds.
Isis
Okay, I have a question.
Josh Leyva
Diamonds are girl's best friend.
Isis
All right, this may be a question for ISIS and maybe a Question for you too, Steph. So, like, for example, when you first started dating your boyfriend, right? Or you, you're going to start dating a boyfriend and you invite him to your Christmas family party, what are like maybe three things that you expect him to do?
Josh Leyva
O.
Isis
Okay, like, like be, to be somebody who represents you and, and for turn you on.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
And to like, make you feel like, damn, this motherfucker's dumb dope, you know?
Josh Leyva
So if you want to be my man, you want to impress me, the first thing you need to do when you come in the the my house.
Isis
There'S no such thing as no.
Josh Leyva
And I don't want you to say that. No. You.
Steph
Everybody, everybody touch hands, hug, lock eyes.
Josh Leyva
Lock eyes. I like that when you come in, I like that depends on the prima cona, prima. But you know that. And then I love when they actually spend quality time with my family. So after you just got done saludando, you go, you see my grandma. Because one thing about my grandma, she's gonna love you. Cause you're automatically a man, you know? So you're gonna go, you talk to my grandma. Como esta? And you got it like, you know, you come, you talk, you chop it up with her. You sit down and like, you have a conversation. You go and talk to my sisters. You play a little bit with my nieces and nephews. You talk to my mom. Mom. Like, you got to come in and spend quality time and have genuine conversation. Listen, listen and have genuine conversation. And then when it's time to be helpful, keyword genuine. Genuine. And when it's time to be helpful, like, oh, my God, my mom's like, oh, let me go get it for you. That's serviceful. You need to be, you need to be well, you need to be well mannered. You need to be genuine. And then you need to be serviceful.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Because lessons learned, like, I cannot be with someone who cannot, like, be at for of service, because I'm for s. I live to serve other people.
Steph
You can't just show up. You got to show out.
Josh Leyva
You got to. Exactly. Because I, when I go to Christmas, I talk to everybody.
Steph
You got to put it on.
Josh Leyva
What do you need? Oh, and I said, I serve the dishes, I pick up the plates, I wash the dishes, I set up the, I set up the tree, I help go get with the kids. Like, I do everything I, I, I do make it a point. I don't just show up. I'm a show out 100%. Your family's gonna talk about me 1020, 30 years from now, forever. Because my mom raised me to be a well mannered, respectable young woman.
Steph
So you expect that?
Josh Leyva
That I only expect that. Like, don't. Don't pull up if you're not gonna.
Sebas
Being serviceable without even having. Like. Like if the trash bin is full, like, just take it out. Like, I don't have to be like, babe, can you help my mom out? You know, like, just do what you gotta do. I feel like service is like the main number one. Like the number one? Yeah. Like, that's the best way to impress, I think.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, yeah.
Isis
Like, don't be that guy just in the corner.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, I hate that.
Steph
Too cool for school.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
Or like if you games like with your family and like you don't even. Like, like that's mad annoying.
Josh Leyva
Are you just chilling with the little teenage kids? Like, go talk to the adults. Like, what the. Do I care? You're oppressing my little cousins. Like, go talk to my, the. My Theos and my mother, you know?
Steph
Right, right.
Josh Leyva
Wow.
Sebas
I think that's the main one.
Isis
Those are like major keys. Those are really good.
Sebas
Especially during Christmas time. Like, come on, girl.
Steph
Especially if you're like, you're bringing them to your family, at that point, they should ready to go.
Isis
Especially when you guys are just starting today too.
Sebas
It's our first Christmas and you're not even.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, yeah. Like, you need like, absolutely. That's your first impression. You're going to be all my family, My family's women, they're going to eat you up. Where to? Shakira? You know what I'm saying? Like, you need to show up.
Sebas
Like, I also think maybe this is just like a Latino thing. Like if you can handle the, like the basilada. Like, if my family's talking. Yeah. Like, you got to be able to take it. Because if not, not then come on, girl. Like, how you gonna survive here?
Isis
Yeah. And if you don't take it seriously. Because it's all love.
Sebas
Yeah, exactly.
Isis
Because I tell people, like, bro, if they're talking about you, like, we with you. Yeah.
Steph
Heavy.
Isis
And if you can't see that, like, bro, you're out there.
Sebas
Yeah, exactly.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, yeah.
Isis
What about, like, what should they be wearing for a Christmas, like on the 24th?
Josh Leyva
So my family, they're.
Sebas
Yeah, yeah.
Josh Leyva
Like, I think like an outfit, like how you have is a good outfit. I do like your outfit as well. Smell. I probably. No, I do, I do. Like, maybe not the hat, you know, just so it could be a little bit more formal. But I want you to Be dressed up. I want you to smell nice. I do. Like a nice little jewelry, a chain. Something where it just looks like, formal, but not too formal, because my family does like to look nice for the holidays.
Isis
I love that. Yeah.
Josh Leyva
You know, so, like, even if they read this, this is.
Isis
Yeah. And that's cool that your family likes that, because there's a lot of families that don't.
Steph
They don't care.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. No, don't show up high beast outfit with your little supreme. No, do not do that, please.
Isis
Like, do you guys say thank you for saying that? Because a lot of guys, especially, like. I'm sorry, but. And I'm gonna say this because it's real shit. A lot of guys in the IE be dressing like that.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, they do.
Sebas
They.
Isis
But no, but he looks great. But I'm only saying that because I. With the ie.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
And I'm trying to help y'all.
Josh Leyva
No, it's true. I think there's a dress for every occasion. You know, like I said, like, you want to. You could be more casual, and that's fine. That could be for the 25th, but for the 24th, you need to show up and show. Wow. You know what I'm saying? The 25th, it's okay. You can come with a little T shirt, maybe a little bottom. Bottoms are the PJs. That's fine. But for the 24th. Face.
Steph
Yeah.
Isis
Not for Facebook.
Josh Leyva
Not for. Not for Facebook.
Sebas
Do you guys think, like, how do you guys feel? When do you think it should be even. The right time to, like, spend Christmas together? Because I'm. Yeah, like. Because I'm always like, man, do I really. Like, you're really going to be in my pictures forever.
Josh Leyva
Forever.
Sebas
Like, these are my family.
Steph
It depends on.
Isis
What do you mean? How.
Sebas
How much time when you can bring someone into. Or do you think it's.
Isis
Yeah, we. We'll talk about this after the break.
Sebas
Okay?
Isis
Yeah, we'll talk about this after. Yeah, that's a really good question. Do you remember what she said?
Sebas
Yeah, we have it on video.
Josh Leyva
Throw the clip.
Isis
We'll give you the answer right after these commercial breaks.
Josh Leyva
Yes.
Steph
Let's get it, baby.
Isis
The A Besties.
Josh Leyva
Inland Empire.
Isis
Can you say it? No, it's like, empire.
Sebas
Empire.
Josh Leyva
No, I feel like I can't. I need, like, more. More testosterone.
Sebas
My balls need to drop.
Steph
Don't.
Isis
Don't take. Don't take it. Don't. Man, we've been having such a great time.
Steph
Let's take a shot, bro.
Sebas
It.
Josh Leyva
Come on right now.
Isis
That's Fine.
Steph
It.
Isis
But, you know, like, when. I know we're having such a great time. Why, when the breaks are real breaks.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sebas
I gotta take a breather.
Isis
No, like, we're taking a break. We're talking. We're genuinely talking. We really care about what one human says to another. Yeah, that's what I know. We've been doing this for a long time. And the br. Don't do that face. What?
Steph
I wasn't doing anything.
Isis
The brakes are normally like, all right, I'm gonna go back. And boom, right back, you know? But this one is like, we're taking our time. We're enjoying each other. Ladies and gentlemen. I am on, man. God damn.
Steph
See what I say? And you were doubting me. You were doubting them. You remember you said that?
Josh Leyva
Damn f. Excuse me.
Sebas
Is it because my nails are not done?
Steph
We took a bathroom break. He was like, damn, you're right. They're actually pretty close.
Josh Leyva
Don't talk about her like that. Now.
Isis
First of all, he's lying.
Josh Leyva
I believe it. I believe it. I said you're stoic. I believe it.
Isis
Second of all. Second of all. But, yeah, you guys are lowkey. Impressing me, bro.
Steph
Dude, what have I ever studied?
Sebas
My favorite thing is proving men wrong.
Josh Leyva
So I only.
Sebas
It's all right. Thank you for judging. Thank you for politics.
Steph
Hey, P, pour it up, man. Come on, bro.
Sebas
Come on, bar man.
Isis
Don't ever call a man a bar man.
Josh Leyva
Barman, huh? I've never, never called him a barman.
Steph
It was me, a bar man.
Josh Leyva
What is a bar man?
Sebas
Why? What's wrong with it?
Josh Leyva
Damn, he got real serious.
Sebas
I know. I'm scared then.
Josh Leyva
89.1% mascul the needy just popped out real quick.
Steph
You ever seen. You ever seen the movie Good Burger on You remember when they came out with the VHS tapes? Do you remember what color they were? Yeah, they were orange.
Isis
Yeah, they're orange.
Steph
Just like your sweater, homeboy.
Josh Leyva
Oh, yeah.
Isis
I don't understand the jokes.
Steph
You look like a vhs.
Josh Leyva
He says they're vhs, cuz all they played.
Sebas
Wait, you guys didn't answer my question.
Steph
See, you're not ahead of it. You're not ahead of the joke, bro. She. She already had of it.
Sebas
You guys didn't answer my question, though, of when you should bring your man.
Isis
To the family sick ass podcast.
Sebas
Come on, y'all. Come on. I don't forget to tune in.
Josh Leyva
I know the answers.
Isis
We're not hiring. Okay, we're not hiring.
Steph
Listen, as soon as I ask you to Be my girlfriend. You better be ready to show up to the family function if I'm asking you to be my girlfriend. You're showing up to the family function. This ain't no play.
Josh Leyva
Like, what the.
Steph
Why am I going to ask you to be my girlfriend? I'm not ready to bring you around.
Josh Leyva
Two weeks is December 1st.
Steph
First of all, I'm not asking you to be my girlfriend if I just started dating you two weeks ago.
Josh Leyva
Okay.
Isis
Right.
Steph
Like, I take my time, you know, to the point you probably already met.
Sebas
The family at that point too.
Steph
No, not necessarily.
Josh Leyva
No, no, not. But you've met her, you've dated her, and then you. You already know by December 1st.
Isis
This is the one I'm ready to introduce if I.
Steph
If I ask you to be my girlfriend. It's cuz I wanted you to meet my family. That's the bottom line. So that's just where I'm at with it. Yeah, I love that. And if. If I. If I back that up, my family backs that up. This is what it is.
Josh Leyva
Expedition.
Steph
You got a problem with me? Go ahead, go ahead, say it with your yellow orange.
Josh Leyva
Let's see how long it took you.
Isis
I. I just think it's so funny when Josh tries to be like that perfect guy.
Josh Leyva
Oh, wait. Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait. So did you bring your girlfriend to the holidays?
Steph
Which he is the perfect guy immediately.
Isis
He really is.
Steph
I didn't ask my girlfriend to be my girlfriend. It took about five. We dated for five months.
Josh Leyva
Okay.
Steph
Five months of just like, just being like, hey, we're just figuring this out. We're seeing if we really like each other. We're being around each other, we're putting in different scenarios. And then when I asked her to be my girlfriend, it was legit. It was like, hey, I want you to be my girl. I want to bring you around my family. This is what it is.
Isis
What I said, wow, bro, let me.
Steph
Be me, bro, please. Is that.
Isis
You don't know this man.
Steph
You don't know this man.
Isis
How many times you got space a doku?
Josh Leyva
You play sudoku together?
Steph
I love sudoku, dude.
Josh Leyva
I love creating new wavelengths and brain.
Steph
He likes to use our brain, bro.
Isis
Honestly, I always with cell and I've Is that.
Steph
I think you chest a couple that.
Josh Leyva
Place the doku together. Stays together.
Isis
No, no. Since. Since I've met Josh, since he's been on the podcast, since I told him, hey, it's me and you now. Since this first start, I always compliment on the man that you are.
Josh Leyva
Shout out to your Mom.
Isis
Masculine, hairy, not.
Steph
But not too like.
Isis
You have that man stench that girls love of, like, everything about you, bro. You're the perfect package. Can you say that with me?
Sebas
Perfect.
Steph
I. I.
Isis
Can you say it with me? Can you say it with me?
Josh Leyva
No.
Isis
One, two, three.
Steph
Perfect package.
Isis
Perfect. Perfect. Package.
Steph
Package. You package.
Sebas
You guys finish each other's packages. Oh, y'all the only one.
Isis

Josh Leyva
Well, we're going to do a separate one with just you.
Steph
I want you guys to do a solo episode.
Sebas
Yeah, no, we need an I already.
Steph
Had my mom moment and I shine, yo. You're gonna be compared to my moment.
Sebas
You're not. You're not. That was so long ago. They don't even remember that.
Josh Leyva
Damn. She's your vintage.
Isis
Honestly, you should have me and Karen on.
Sebas
Oh, my God.
Josh Leyva
Oh, my God.
Sebas
Oh, my God. Let's do it.
Isis
Psych.
Josh Leyva
Damn. Just because I told him that he gets lost and that's why he got too.
Steph
Cut that out.
Josh Leyva
Leave that in. Leave that in. Let me just say this right now. He got two compasses on his hand. He don't even know where he's going half the time. He's already lost. So you got to get your. Get back. It's cool. Get your look back.
Isis
Yeah. Like, I think you guys should have me and Karen on.
Josh Leyva
Nah, we'll think her. Her. We with you. We gotta.
Sebas
We gotta Listen, I respect you.
Isis
That's fine. I haven't been on. I've been doing.
Sebas
I'm sensitive, like, you being, like, not invited to things. So.
Josh Leyva
What?
Sebas
What you mean like, when people don't invite me, even if I'm not gonna go, like, I still want an invitation.
Steph
Really?
Sebas
Yeah.
Steph
I'm not like that.
Sebas
I'm that kind of person.
Josh Leyva
I'm like, yeah, yeah, I get fomo.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
I'm like, what the. Even if I'm supposed to be my grandma's birthday, just tell me. I'm gonna go. I'm not gonna go, but I still want to.
Sebas
Exactly. Like, even if I don't want to know you then. And, like, I know you had a Party. I'm like, man, I didn't get to go to that. Like, it irritates me. So I understand your feeling right now, and it's okay. I respect it.
Josh Leyva
I would want to be on besties, too.
Steph
I hate to break it to you, sweetheart, but before you, I was somebody. Somebody.
Sebas
Okay.
Steph
But before you, I was somebody.
Sebas
Okay, you know what?
Steph
14 year old.
Josh Leyva
You're going to let your co. 14 year old.
Sebas
You know, we should have got those, like, fake glass so we could have.
Josh Leyva
Just started smashing, started hitting everybody, and get him back to his skin days.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
Cheers.
Josh Leyva
Free cheers.
Isis
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Cheers to having seas on. I am bed.
Steph
I want to be there, but I just want to be in the background.
Sebas
Yeah. First of all, you're not invited, dude.
Josh Leyva
Okay.
Isis
Stay home.
Josh Leyva
I'm not even mad at that.
Steph
I'll pay for your Uber to get there.
Sebas
That's really nice.
Steph
Black, too. Black, too.
Josh Leyva
Damn.
Isis
I'm waiting.
Sebas
I know you guys.
Isis
Three shots, bro.
Steph
This is og la platica right here, bro. We, like, stopped drinking for, like, a year.
Sebas
Las malas influen.
Josh Leyva
I'm not going to lie. I was hoping we'd be drinking.
Steph
Which of your guests would you go on a date with?
Sebas
That I've had.
Steph
Yes.
Josh Leyva
Ooh.
Sebas
You know what? We've had mostly girls, and it can't be a girl.
Steph
It's too easy.
Josh Leyva
I'm not trying to.
Sebas
I'm trying.
Isis
What was the question?
Sebas
Think, aj, you got to listen for. It's a podcast, aj, so I can get a session. No, I'm just kidding. Let me think. I'm trying to think of the. All the males we've had. You know what I'm gonna say my friend John, because he's really great.
Steph
You're. You're cheating.
Sebas
No, you know what? We don't really have, like, I think including you, I've. Honest. I Honest. And not like, the guys from, like. Like, the other pods. I think we've had, like, maybe, like, four male.
Steph
Oh, really?
Sebas
Like, guests. Aj, myself, my friend John, and then Jose. I don't know if you were on when we had Joseph. Oh, Loudo. But Lado's gay, so it's still not that juicy. You know what I mean?
Steph
Damn it.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
What was the question?
Josh Leyva
Getting to know you.
Sebas
Yeah.
Steph
Yeah.
Sebas
So we. We, like. You know what I mean? Like, we don't really have that many. Like, the one that would be like.
Josh Leyva
You know who I would. You know who I would. Danny.
Steph
Who's that?
Sebas
Oh, my God. I would totally have. You know what I would literally.
Steph
Is like you about to say would.
Sebas
Yeah, for sure. But Danny's gay.
Josh Leyva
He's really hot.
Steph
Oh, got it. That is a cow.
Sebas
Only the girls and the gays on the show.
Isis
I don't have no idea what you guys talking about.
Steph
Jesus Christ.
Sebas
It's okay.
Isis
Oh, what a question.
Josh Leyva
We don't have that many male guests. Yeah, I'm not even the one in the relationship.
Isis
Is that on here?
Steph
You're starting to piss me off, bro. It's the last question.
Josh Leyva
Damn.
Sebas
What's the other juicy question?
Josh Leyva
Okay, let's see.
Sebas
Ask some hard. Yeah, I have one questions.
Josh Leyva
Holy.
Isis
I'm just kidding, Steph. Last time ISIS was. ISIS got on your nerves.
Josh Leyva
Take this.
Isis
Oh my God.
Sebas
Okay, let me think, let me think, let me, let me think, let me think. Hold up, hold up.
Josh Leyva
I don't get offended that easily.
Sebas
The last time ISIS got on my.
Isis
Nerves, I didn't come up with these questions.
Sebas
By the way, I honestly want to say this morning.
Josh Leyva
This morning.
Sebas
Talk about, let's talk about this morning. It's that because like, she just gives these people so much power and I don't know know how the.
Isis
Who are these people?
Sebas
These like trolls. Like, she really lets them get to her.
Steph
Define power.
Sebas
Like she'll call me and she'll be like, these matches and I'm like, get to her emotions.
Steph
They like, they shake her.
Sebas
Yeah, they like to fight.
Steph
They shake you. Oh, you just like that?
Josh Leyva
I just like it. I just, I just.
Sebas
That's what she says.
Josh Leyva
No, cuz she was like, oh, you're trying to be influencer. And I'm like, no, this is my second time in New York in the last four weeks. I'm sorry that you can't go to New York. Maybe if you had a life that was worthwhile to watch nothing, somebody would have a comment on your life. But you don't.
Steph
The eye contact is brilliant.
Isis
Yeah, we love it.
Josh Leyva
I don't know, I just feel like, why can't I just say that and.
Isis
Say, no, you know what?
Josh Leyva
And then I have.
Steph
You know what? You know what? Yeah, you could say it. I would never.
Josh Leyva
But why? Like I don't. And I'm like, I'm not even a big ass influencer. So I could say.
Steph
But it's not, it's not even about that. It's the fact that you're not afraid to challenge people that are like pressing you. Like, what the fuck? You're gonna come at me like, what do you think? I'm not human? I'm not going to respond. Yeah, I Would never do that.
Sebas
Why? Why.
Josh Leyva
Why are you gonna try me? What the. Like, and she. No, I just had posted my picture, and she literally commented that immediately after I had posted my picture on my whole. She didn't even DM me like she posted it. So you want to respond, okay, so.
Steph
Can I challenge you? Because this is how the people respond to it. Well, you asked for this. You put yourself in the limelight, so now you got to deal with the repercussions of how people view you and judge you.
Josh Leyva
Like, what is. What is the response to that? Like, what is.
Steph
I'm asking you. Because that's how people were. Like, so you responded back. But then people will be like, why are you attacking me when you're the one who put yourself in this position that I get a.
Sebas
Like, you put yourself in.
Josh Leyva
Didn't even follow me, but you watching me and you know everything about my life, and you put it in the comments. You want attention. No, baby, I'm just magnetic and you're just attracted to me, and you just gravitated to me naturally. Meanwhile, I couldn't even know. I couldn't distinguish you from a can of fucking paint.
Sebas
That's what I'm saying. Like, I feel like those people don't even deserve, like, the time of day. Like, they don't deserve any reaction. They don't deserve anything, especially if they don't follow you. Girl, come on.
Josh Leyva
I told her she's the better part of me. Like, Steph is. Steph is everything that you know.
Steph
You know what I do when I get those kind of. Because I get those kind. I've been getting those kind of, I'm sure, immediately blocked.
Josh Leyva
Don't get.
Isis
Don't.
Steph
Don't be in my. Don't. Don't come with me with that energy ever.
Josh Leyva
But I do, like.
Steph
And I could block that immediately.
Josh Leyva
But I'm not gonna lie. I do like the back and forth.
Steph
Okay.
Josh Leyva
I like it. I do, like, say this. And again, I. I feel like, again, I'm. I'm very micro. Like, I'm. I can't really say. I've been pushing a lot of comments in to be influenced, so I can't really, Like, I'm just posting.
Steph
It's not even about being an influencer. It's about, like, you have volunteered to put yourself out there, so now you are in this limelight. That is what it is.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Steph
So you don't even have to categorize yourself as an influencer or be that.
Josh Leyva
I would. I would, honestly, if they would have given Me the option. I would have called the up and cussed her out. I really would have. Like, honestly, I really, I would not. That would not be beneath me. I feel like. Let me tell you. Okay. Let me tell you. I have been in situations where I have been the bigger person.
Steph
Sorry before. I'm very curious. What was the whole, whole back and forth?
Sebas
Because I need to read it out loud.
Steph
How deep does this go?
Josh Leyva
Or should I read it? Should I read it or am I giving.
Steph
Yeah, just don't name them.
Josh Leyva
I'm just not gonna say this.
Sebas
Yeah, yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Took over besties, blank, blank, blank. Stepped on all toes to make us believe she didn't want to be an influencer. But she's loving that attention. Huh? So I responded bestie. I've been on 45 flights this year alone. Been to New New York twice in the last month. Some of us are born fabulous. It doesn't start or end due to the absence of a relationship. Check my priority post. Although I'm flattered as giving influencer. And then I messaged the and I told her some other damn. Why are you literally like comment on my like, girl, this is like. And I'm not even saying that to be bragging. You know what I'm saying? I was just giving her a response like, yeah, you think I'm being braggy cuz I just posted a cute pic in my outfit and on in Williamsburg in New York.
Isis
No, but honestly, the only time to be braggy is when you respond to people like that.
Josh Leyva
That's. And that's why I said them be braggy. I was, I, I literally screenshot her.
Sebas
Like, no guys, I screenshot.
Josh Leyva
I was like, I almost put myself West 41 over 40 flights. Like I got hella points. Don't play with me because I'll book a flight to you right now. Zero cost. So just 1120 on tax.
Sebas
I want to say that she gets mad every time. Every time.
Josh Leyva
I don't get it often though.
Sebas
Yeah, we don't get them that often. But that's what I'm saying. Like I'm like, I feel like it's a disservice to people that comment every single time. Amazing, beautiful things for you to get triggered over one that's negative because I'm like so many people are loving you and showing you so much love that genuine love.
Steph
Like they want to show you appreciation.
Sebas
Exactly like, like I hate.
Josh Leyva
Socially. This is why I need Stephanie. Stephanie makes me a better person. I love that I'm gonna firework. I just Explode. And then I'm like, I love that you're like that.
Steph
And you feel better after you do it.
Isis
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
I DM'd the girl and I was. I don't want to read my dm, but, you know, did she respond? No, I think. Well, you told me not to respond, so I blocked her in case you want to read my message. But if you're watching this, I hope you did read my message. And I'll DM you again. Again.
Isis
Look, at the end of the day, you're gonna. Whether you answer that to somebody or not, you're always gonna get it.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, you're right.
Isis
So there's. There's nothing that you can do that makes you make somebody feel moated. That's gonna stop it. Yeah, it's not. Yeah, you're continuously gonna get. And the bigger you get, the more problems that you're gonna deal with. Right.
Josh Leyva
I'm being scandals.
Isis
I'll be talking, so it doesn't matter. But I do respect that. Like, man, everybody, I do feel like you. Then you're not even following.
Josh Leyva
You're worried about what I'm doing. That means I'm doing something.
Isis
Yeah. Because at the end of the day, you know that at the end of the day, right?
Steph
Hold on. You know that, right?
Josh Leyva
Yeah, of course.
Steph
So why do you got to respond to it? You know it.
Josh Leyva
I need to.
Steph
I'm going to speak. I'm going to speak freely right now. I get hate, and I'm like, do you realize what I would do to you if I responded? Like, how I could crush you like a bug, so why would I waste my energy to crush you like a bug? I'd rather just let you have your moment because this is the highest you're ever going to feel.
Isis
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
And that's what I'm saying.
Sebas
Like, you're like, I'm living literally. Like, you're so irrelevant to me that I'm not even going to give you the satisfaction of knowing. I even read your dumb ass comment.
Josh Leyva
Well, some things I just got.
Sebas
I never delete them. Like, when people come in ugly on my. Like, on my actual post, I'm like, you could leave it. And I'm.
Isis
What are they saying? What do they say?
Sebas
People like, what do you get?
Steph
Like, what Kind of.
Isis
Yeah, like, I feel like you're such a nice person. What are they telling?
Josh Leyva
People will always say, did not say that about me, though. He's like, I understand why she got the comment.
Steph
Oh, 100%. What could they possibly say to you.
Isis
Steph, Hey, I Feel like Steph is like, what do you tell Steph? Isis, I get it.
Josh Leyva
Me too. And hey, DM me right now.
Isis
But Isis, I understand you because, like, no matter what, like, even if you're going to get it back, but it's just nice to just let that person.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, I just want to.
Isis
No, it is because at that moment, this person that they commented on said something back to them. They were like, oh, shit. Damn.
Sebas
And honestly, you probably made their day.
Steph
That's. That's crazy.
Sebas
Yeah, they're like, oh, my God.
Josh Leyva
I also said some other to some other. And she's still watching my story.
Sebas
Yeah, because it's happened before where, like, I've seen like response and they're like.
Isis
Oh, my God, you know what got.
Steph
Me with a twinkle in her eye.
Isis
Yeah. You're such a girl.
Josh Leyva
Hi, I'm Caddy. You're.
Steph
Do you guys feel like more men are haters or women are haters?
Sebas
Women, for me, I think it's men. Yeah.
Isis
It's always, men hate on you.
Sebas
Yeah, men hate on you.
Josh Leyva
I feel like being hating on me.
Steph
Men hate on you.
Sebas
But because I'm such a man hater.
Steph
That, like, what do you hate about men?
Isis
Yeah.
Sebas
Oh, God. How much time do. How much time do we have left?
Josh Leyva
Hey, the question, please don't men, period, end a sentence?
Sebas
I am like, honestly such a man hater.
Isis
Why?
Steph
I want to.
Isis
Come on, like, I'm like that.
Steph
That's like a.
Josh Leyva
The blanket statement, statistically.
Isis
Plus, it'll do so good.
Steph
Go ahead, go ahead. Tell us what you hate about me.
Josh Leyva
I. You specifically, how much time. We're not you.
Isis
You're feminine as.
Josh Leyva
It's from.
Sebas
It's from personal experience. It's from, like, the way I grew up, the men I grew up around. I have never. It's not that I have never. I very rarely meet men that I genuinely think are. Are good men. I feel like good men are very, very, very scarce. And when I say that men don't like that.
Steph
Define good man.
Sebas
Good man as in like you respect not just women you're attracted to. You respect. Women like you respect. Yeah, you respect people you respect. You don't feel like you're better than me just because you're a man. I have, I have noticed. And it's. And it's from personal experience, even like with friends where I'm like, like I'm not attracted to you. And the moment you truly believe that and acknowledge it, you're going to stop treating me with the same respect you're Treating me right now. And it has happened to me so many times where I'm like I. I'm tired of like making you feel like a man just because like I need you to treat me with respect. Like you should treat me with respect because I'm a good person and I'm.
Steph
Cuz you're a human.
Sebas
Yeah, exactly. And I've had like my whole life I've just been around men that don't deserve respect. Respect. And I have been in situations obviously with like good men but they're so rare to me. Like they're so, so scarce that like I just have not lost hope. But I genuinely like, I find it nice like when I meet like guys that are like I'm gonna ask you.
Steph
Like a deep question. I hope I.
Josh Leyva
Wait, can I follow up to that real quick? I just have to say up. I just know like the reason why to me I'm distressing of men every. Almost 99 of my friends have been in an incident where they've been assaulted. Good. And that assault can you know, go range from SA to verbal assault. How come no man has ever acknowledged that they've done any kind of assaulting. But all of my friends have a story of assault. So I think that's an accurate reflection of men that does not generalize that all men do that. But how come all of my friends have been through an experience with that and I don't know any man who can acknowledge that they've done things like that. Damn well.
Sebas
What?
Isis
Wow. Where are we going to ask nothing anymore.
Sebas
No.
Steph
And I'm just going to shut.
Josh Leyva
And that means you're friends with someone that's friends that did some things or your friend did something or you did something.
Sebas
And realistically like obviously like I know cuz I like I'll tell my boyfriend. I'm like, does it bother you that I'm like all men, they're like no.
Steph
That'S what I was going to go for. Like I was going to dive into your relationship. Are you compensating in any way? Like are you just, are you allowing thing like, like do you still hold them to that standard? The partner that you are dating?
Sebas
Oh, 100%. A hundred percent. And I tell them, I'm like, does it offend you that I say these things? And he's like no, because I know that doesn't apply to me. And so I've been in situations where like men get upset and I'm like if this didn't hit a nerve, you wouldn't be reacting this way you wouldn't be feeling some type of way to what I'm saying, because, you know, it doesn't reflect your character. So I just know, like, I've just been in too many experiences where men just really, really disappoint.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Because it's like a lot of guys say, oh, women are gold diggers, but I've been the provider and, like, previous relationships, so I wouldn't get offended if somebody called me a gold digger. Because I'm like, that doesn't. That's not applicable to me. So I wouldn't be. If I was a man. And I've never been in a situation where I've made a woman feel uncomfortable or I've harassed them or maybe they've drank too much and I took advantage of that moment. I'm not going to be offended when people say, you should be careful around men when you drink and you get blessed, because that's not.
Steph
That's nothing to do with me, that energy.
Sebas
And it doesn't mean that, like, I. Every time I meet a man, I'm like, fuck you.
Josh Leyva
I.
Sebas
She's more of like, I'm very skeptical on you.
Josh Leyva
Proceed with precaution.
Sebas
100%. Yeah. So. But I love men, obviously, you know, like, I.
Isis
Like.
Steph
So what made your boyfriend so different?
Sebas
You know what? He's just nice. Like, he's a very nice person, and he's respectful and he's caring. You know, I just think it's. He's empathetic. I feel like that's the main quality that I find lacking in men where, like. Like, if I'm in pain and you see me in pain, it's not just like, oh, my girlfriend's having a bad day. Like, it's like, you know what? Like, what can I do to help you? How can I, like, ease. Whatever.
Isis
That's what all women want.
Sebas
Exactly. Like, it's really not rocket science. But it's also. I see the way he is with his mom. I see the way he is with his sister, with his, like, other, you know, female friends. Like, I see the way he treats, like I said, not just women that, you know, objectively are attractive, but, like, genuinely, just everyone. I see the way he treats people.
Josh Leyva
And.
Sebas
And to me, that's what really matters. Like, because something that I try to tell, like, like, my siblings or whatever, I'm like, okay, take away your career, take away your money, and what is left of you, what is left of your character, that's what really matters to me. I don't give a shit. That you have a billion fucking dollars. Because if you take that away, what kind of person are you? And I feel like men tend to like, get a high on, like, oh, you know, like, I have a really big career and I'm like this and this, and I'm a provider and whatever. And it's like, okay, but at your core, who are you? What represents you?
Isis
And what are you giving my mom for Christmas?
Sebas
Exactly. Yeah. Like, how are you thoughtful? How are you caring of the world? Not just of women, not just of men, but, like. But I'm also like, kind of like a. You know, like, I love animals and I love nature. So all those things are important to me. And if you only care about material things or, like, things that are gonna excel you in, like, the economic world.
Josh Leyva
Like, quantifiable and material. Right.
Sebas
Like, that's all great. But how are you truly? Because. But it comes, like I said, from experience. Because, you know, like I told you guys on break, like, my father past my. Nobody remembers my dad from his restaurants. Nobody remembers my dad for all the money he has. They literally remember my dad because he was an incredibly amazing person.
Isis
Wow.
Sebas
So I'm like, what did he take to his grave? He took this. He, like, he left this legacy of like, wow. I loved and I gave everything I can. Yeah.
Steph
Love.
Isis
That's a lesson for everybody.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
It's not about what you do, it's about who you are.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Your core, cuz. That's everything.
Sebas
Yeah. Because in the same way that I was around shitty men, like, I really had an absolutely incredible father. Like, my dad was so amazing. And it's that, like, I was like, okay, well, I see this person and he sucks and I see my dad and he's amazing. So, like, I had both. I had both. Really?
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Shout out to the incredible men. Because there are.
Sebas
Yeah. Like, I don't deny that there's good men. Yeah. Like, I don't deny the existence. Of course not. I don't think all men are horrible, but I think in general, like, men tend to be not the best.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. There's too much red pill content. Exactly. People are worried about alpha and beta. And let me tell. Tell you, as a man, you don't always need to be alpha. You don't need to be beta. A partnership, you should. You should aim for a partnership. It shouldn't. It should be two equals. And it doesn't have to be equal in the bank account. It doesn't have to be equal in stature. It just has to be equal internally. Like, what am I doing? I feel like all that. All people want is somebody that's going to make their life easier. If every day you wake up and that person makes your life harder, that's not the person for you. They should wake up. And if I'm like, damn, I'm having a headache. Headache. And they know all day I've been stressed and I've been working and I've just been catching seven flights and I finally been home after three weeks. My partner should want to come home and like, let me go get you some food. Let me do this, babe. Do you need this? Do you need money for your Uber, dude? Like, how do you make my life easier? And they could be simple little things. I'm not asking for a diamond tennis bracelet. That got me.
Steph
Nice.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
You know, double bs, you know, clarity, you know. No, I want somebody who makes my life easier. When I awake up, I know if I forgot the trash, I don't need to call him, remind him to do something simple. Because it's been two weeks and I haven't been home, and now the trash is stacked up like, I just come home. And it's a place of peace for both of us. For both of us.
Steph
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Because it's a partnership.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Some days you're going to give 100. Same days you're going to give 20. And that doesn't mean that you're going to be defined by the day that you're 20%. It's the totality of the relationship. And if you'd wake up every day and you don't think of this person or don't have consideration for this person, this is just not the person for you because you don't genuinely care for them. Sometimes we want to hold people because they're just so great. And we want to be in the proximity to the greatness, but we just want that proximity. We don't appreciate. We don't put value on that proximity.
Isis
Wow.
Josh Leyva
And so that's just what it is. Some people just want to be next to it because they feel that, that, that'll eventually rub off. But if you're not great, you're never going to be great. And if you don't value the greatness in your life, you're never going to be able to allow that to penetrate you and you to reflect those same values because you're just. You just wanted to hold it, but not because you cherish it.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
Well, no wonder you guys have such a successful.
Steph
So are you listening? You taking notes? Where the is your notepad?
Isis
No, Josh, I'm, like, talking to them. I'm like, God damn, you guys are real women.
Sebas
Thanks.
Josh Leyva
Oh, my.
Steph
I know. That sounds so funny. And I. And I kind of back step us up with that. Like, you guys are very in tune. Like, who you are and what you guys are looking for. Like, there's like, it's not. You guys are just shooting in the blank. Like, it's like, there's like a. There's like a. You understand what it is that you're looking for. Understand. Understand what your worth is. You guys are speaking and reflecting that, which I think is really cool.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, you gotta know your worth as a woman. You always gotta know your worth. Like, every day I do wake up and I tell myself my don't stink because the world's gonna tell me my stink. Somebody woke up and told me on my picture that I'm trying to be something that I'm not. No, baby, I woke up that day and I decided to be. Because you could do that yourself. No one needs to wake up and remind you who you are. You got to know it. Who you are from within. Because everything could be taken away from from you, but who you are, your core.
Steph
But if you know that, why do you got to prove it to other people?
Josh Leyva
It's not about believing that. You got to step into that. That's what I'm saying. You got to be so unwavering in it that nobody can move you. Mountains couldn't move who you were.
Sebas
And I also think that, like, it's just kind of a reminder of, like, just because I shine doesn't mean that I'm dimming you. Like, I don't need to, like, dim myself any more than you do. Like, we can both. Yeah, we can all be here together. Like, I don't. And I. And I feel like I said, like, I feel that towards men, too. I don't think, like, women are better than men. I think we all have. Obviously, we all have something to offer. It's just more of, like, we all need to acknowledge it, and we deserve that acknowledgement. Together, both sides.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Yeah, everyone.
Sebas
That's why I don't respect men.
Josh Leyva
I say all that to say, like I said. Yeah, I love that.
Isis
I love that. Honestly, listening to you guys, I'm just, like, listening to them. I'm like, no wonder you guys do this.
Josh Leyva
Thank you.
Isis
I almost feel like they're like A Josh and AAs, huh? And women Josh. But better. But better.
Steph
But better. Yeah.
Sebas
I was about to say we try. I mean, it's Just like I said, it's just stuff from, you know, like from your personal life. Like, because I've had situations where my, like, like my friends are like, I've never felt that with men. And I'm like, and I love that. I love that you've never had men around you that made you feel like that you had to question every man that you speak to. Like, I'm glad you've never had those experiences. These are just mine.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. And to that point, like what you said, you being the sun doesn't mean that the. Like that that's it. There's so many more universes in the world. There's so many more sons. There's so many things that Brian. Like I don't wake up. I don't wake up and compare myself to anybody because that'd be a disservice to me. I'm sitting here in front of two big influencers, right? Two people have created a brand from the ground up. If I sat here and said, damn, Josh has this, damn Seva has this, I wouldn't be shit. But if I wake up and I compared myself to who I was 10 years ago, to who I was when I was in college and how I got here, then yeah, I can lift myself. So don't compare yourself to the next person. Just compare yourself to who you were and how you had progression.
Isis
That's actually really amazing that you said that. That's amazing. Do you guys want another shot or no?
Josh Leyva
Yes.
Isis
Yeah, okay, let's do it.
Steph
Can we do another truther shot?
Josh Leyva
Yes.
Isis
Yeah, of course. You want to bring one up?
Josh Leyva
The besties aren't a good question though.
Steph
You guys are like too like honest.
Isis
Hey, no. Hey, no, Cap. The besties are the hype.
Steph
Worst guess.
Isis
Like you guys are hyped up.
Josh Leyva
No, you gotta say.
Steph
You gotta say. You got a name. Them.
Josh Leyva
Okay, mind you, I've only been on this year and we haven't had that.
Steph
Okay, so Steph has to answer this one. No, I. Cuz you've been.
Sebas
You're oly will not.
Steph
What is the worst guess you've ever had? Cuz I could tell you ours, but I won't.
Sebas
No, I'm going to take a shot. I'm literally going to take a shot. I can't say.
Steph
That means everybody has.
Josh Leyva
I'll take a shot.
Isis
But you have one.
Sebas
No, I do have one.
Steph
Can you whisper? Can you whisper it into the microphone? No. Whisper into the microphone so we can hear it.
Sebas
No, no, no, no. I won't say it, but I'll take the shot.
Steph
Do you guys have one? Do you guys have one?
Sebas
Do have one?
Steph
Yeah.
Sebas
Yo, you didn't know them.
Josh Leyva
Who, me?
Isis
Who's that?
Sebas
I don't think you would know it. I don't think you would get it.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
The only reason I can't say is because we're friends now.
Isis
Well, who. You.
Sebas
All right, I'm going to take the shot then. Cuz I'm, I'm not going to.
Steph
Would you, would you, would you, would you answer the question? Who's our worst.
Sebas
Yeah, your worst guest. You're going to take a shot for.
Josh Leyva
Do we have a shot in here? There's not a shot in here.
Isis
What?
Josh Leyva
Thank you.
Isis
I rather take a shot because no matter what, any single guest that I've had on La Platica has made me who I am now. Okay.
Josh Leyva
Corporate answer.
Isis
I can't, I, I.
Sebas
Media training.
Josh Leyva
Training.
Isis
I can't say like that person's like, no, because that person.
Steph
I'll say it. I'm just.
Sebas
That's such a good response.
Isis
Tell us. No, but it's really true. It's true. Like whoever, whoever I had on, whether I didn't like them or not taught me something.
Sebas
I respect that because that is so true. Cuz after that it did make me want to be like more aware of one, who I'm bringing on. Yeah. And two, the topics that are going to be spoken about.
Steph
Because I learned how that experience. Because that's like deep. Like I get it. Like you actually learn from that. The guests that we had, we were just like not engaging.
Sebas
Like they don't like for us, it.
Steph
Wasn'T, it was like we had this idea of them and they didn't match that idea. And not that they have to be that, but like they were just so far removed. It was just like what? There was like a massive disconnect.
Sebas
Was it a male or a female?
Isis
It's been both.
Sebas
Both.
Isis
It's been both. Yeah.
Josh Leyva
He's thinking of a man.
Sebas
Every, every guest you've had is watching this right now questioning themselves.
Isis
No, but it's me. No, but honestly, it's, it's made us who we are. Because now it's like, for example, like the person was like this big person on like social media and we were by ourselves.
Steph
We didn't have Jess or Max.
Isis
We're like, damn, bro. Like, he's so quiet. Or V, blah, blah. But like the next episode, the next episode, I was like, ain't nobody gonna be quiet on my show. And then, you know, it Taught me something. It's like there's no, there's not gonna be any quiet moments or like. And people will never know who it is because I would edit it after.
Sebas
Right.
Isis
To not feel like it's jump or, or elongated.
Sebas
Right.
Isis
I'd rather have it jumpy.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
Say that with me. Jump. Bumpy.
Steph
I'm okay.
Isis
You okay?
Steph
Pour my shot.
Isis
Another one, Josh, why?
Sebas
I'm waiting. You didn't answer the question together before she. You just said girl.
Isis
You have such an American voice. Has anybody ever told you I love it.
Sebas
I always wished I was from the Valley.
Steph
Really?
Josh Leyva
You're giving Valley girl?
Sebas
Yeah, but I think it's because of the movies I watched growing up.
Isis
No, you're giving like, Kansas City.
Sebas
Well, I don't know what that means. Kansas.
Steph
No, she's not giving Kansas.
Isis
I'm joking. No, but doesn't she have a really American voice?
Sebas
I also have a really educated. I have a really good Mexican voice too. Like, you can't tell that I.
Isis
No, don't flip it on me.
Sebas
You're just like my guest.
Isis
You're just like.
Sebas
Yes. That I didn't like.
Isis
All I said is she has a very American voice.
Steph
What does American mean? What does that mean?
Isis
Like, just no accent at all.
Steph
Why does she have to happen.
Isis
But then she has a really.
Steph
Why does she have to have an accent?
Isis
But then you have a really good Spanish. Like, Like.
Sebas
Yeah, yeah, but when I speak in Spanish, like, if I'm in Mexico, like, people don't know that.
Isis
Exactly. That's what I mean. Like, you can go Mexican and full on bald eagle.
Sebas
It's because my mom.
Isis
No, but you know what I mean, right? Like, yeah, you can go full pisa. Yeah. And then you straight up gladiator.
Sebas
My mom got me a Spanish teacher when we would go to Mexico.
Steph
Okay.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
So, yeah, no, good for you. It's amazing that you speak like, like that.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
And I'm not saying you don't.
Josh Leyva
I'm not. It's okay. I'm, I, I, I'm not the type that.
Steph
I actually think you speak very well.
Isis
No, I really do.
Steph
You speak very well.
Sebas
Both of you in action. It's so amazing. Like, watching her in her job. She showed me like, videos and I'm like, dude, that is so badass seeing you up there, cuz, like, you see politicians talk and you're like, do you act up?
Josh Leyva
No, no, no, no. When? Cuz I had to present in front of like, a committee of like, assembly members and senators for my bill in order for it to get passed. So I just, like, put a clip. I, like, had a part. A clip of it, and I. I, like. I shared it.
Sebas
Yeah, it's awesome.
Josh Leyva
So it's like me presenting with, like, with the senator who was having the bill, and then I had to present in front of other senators, like, my bill and what we wanted to pass.
Steph
So it was like. Yeah, you got to, like, really be on that's.
Josh Leyva
I want to see it. Let me know. We could do that. No.
Sebas
Yeah, dude, it's so cool. I love you.
Steph
Don't you have it memorized?
Josh Leyva
Memorized, Yes, I do, but I can't stay here because I don't want to know. I don't want to dear. Where I work.
Steph
Pz, listen, you're not understanding what's going on right now. They just didn't answer the question. Therefore, you have to pour us up a shot.
Josh Leyva
Yes.
Steph
Okay, so get off your phone and get to pouring. Okay. I'm the masking energy now. Here. Okay.
Josh Leyva
Holy.
Isis
All right.
Steph
Look at the leg change. Okay.
Isis
Oh. Oh, no. I'm glad. Finally you're acting like that.
Josh Leyva
Finally you're acting like 89.1% is showing up right now.
Steph
What are you looking at?
Isis
Nothing.
Steph
Okay, then. Poor up now.
Isis
Yes, master.
Josh Leyva
You know what?
Isis
He's trying what I do.
Steph
You're not paying attention. You're supposed to be podcasting.
Isis
I just literally told you that. You sound like a TV American host.
Josh Leyva
No, she literally. You need to do the dub voice.
Sebas
No, she has the. That is my downfall. Every time I do an accent, people are like, do the accent.
Steph
What do you mean?
Josh Leyva
No, you know, like, please do it. Please. She. She's literally so talented in that.
Sebas
I need a script. I need a script.
Isis
I can't just say I don't understand.
Steph
What's the gist of the accent?
Sebas
Like, you know how many people, like, translate like. Like, TV shows in Spanish and they speak in a way where it's like, who the talks like that? I can do that voice.
Josh Leyva
Okay, example right now.
Sebas
Okay, let me think of something to say.
Steph
No, just ask her a question.
Josh Leyva
Ask her a question.
Isis
Oh, a question she's literally so good at.
Sebas
Oh, my God. I'm getting. Okay, I'll just. I'll just do it. Let me know.
Isis
She has one already on there.
Josh Leyva
Do the animal one. Like, we were doing, like, a. Like, the animal.
Sebas
Like, the shark attack.
Josh Leyva
The shark attack.
Sebas
I can't do that one.
Isis
Are you talking about, like, when they, like, talk like. Like, they talk in Spanish, but, like, they talk it very animated.
Sebas
Do it, do it.
Isis
Yeah, they talk like, I don't know.
Sebas
I could do it, but I gotta do another shot first.
Josh Leyva
Yay. Let's do it.
Sebas
Okay. Because. Okay. You know, like, when. Like in, like, documentaries or something, and they're like, oh, my God. I was in, like, a near death experience. I can talk like that.
Steph
Oh, that's like, very specific.
Sebas
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, okay, let me think of. Okay, let me think of something.
Isis
Is it like.
Sebas
Yeah, something like that? Yeah, they'll be like, oh.
Isis
Ew.
Josh Leyva
I literally love that so much. Oh, my God. I literally.
Steph
Dude, that is like. But you're like. It's like flawless.
Josh Leyva
She's a professional.
Steph
But your voice sounds so crisp when you do that.
Isis
Hey, I guess it though, right?
Sebas
Yeah, yeah, you did.
Josh Leyva
You got it perfect. You got it on the money. On the money, bro.
Isis
Your eyes and they always do that.
Sebas
They're like, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh Leyva
I cannot do it. Yeah, that's her talent. It's her secret talent, dude.
Isis
It's like very. It's like super comical Spanish.
Sebas
Like, it's the little girl in me who wanted to be an actress.
Isis
Did you watch a lot of Spanish? Dragon Ball Z? Because that's where I did.
Sebas
I really did.
Isis
I would watch that. That's where it was all at.
Sebas
But I watched a lot of, like, Animal Planet. I liked watching, like, serial killer stuff in Spanish. I didn't want to be an actress. I wanted to be a voice actor.
Isis
Oh, yeah. And Dragon Ball was like, goku.
Sebas
Yeah, yeah, that's pretty good.
Isis
You know what I mean? Like, every show. Every show was like that.
Sebas
And I was. It was always very like, I was always like, what the who stocks like that? So I wanted to learn. Learn how to do it.
Isis
Can you do one more?
Sebas
Okay, but what do you want me to say? I can't think.
Isis
No, just say straight up. Like.
Sebas
How do you say embarrassed?
Josh Leyva
Are you guys taking a shot with this too?
Isis
Cheers.
Sebas
Cheers.
Isis
Cheers.
Sebas
Hire me, you guys.
Josh Leyva
This is my audition.
Sebas
I can do dubs step.
Isis
No lie. You got so much cooler, dude.
Josh Leyva
I'm telling you, she's a pro.
Isis
No dead ass. That is so cool. The fact that you even, like, claim that as a talent is so cool.
Sebas
I'm trying to work now on my Australian accent.
Isis
Nah, dude, do continue this.
Josh Leyva
Shouldn't she, like, literally just submit an application and be like, I literally. Like, she's literally challenging.
Sebas
I don't know why I would do that, though. Since I was a little girl, like, I found a little video of me and I'm like trying to talk in a British accent. I just liked.
Josh Leyva
And she was so good.
Sebas
Yeah. I liked people's voices and like even in cartoons, like I would always be like, oh my God, how do people like get on these shows? Or like someone's like recording all of the. This that bro.
Isis
And it was the same person doing all the shows.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Sebas
And I didn't know that even like in anime and stuff. Like I see it and it's always the same actors. I'm like, yo, that's bad.
Steph
They do like 40 voices.
Sebas
Yes. But I don't have that kind of control over my voice.
Isis
The fact that you do that, like you're so much like you're so bice out with it. You feel me?
Sebas
Yeah, yeah.
Isis
Like you're so Mexican. You feel me? Like cuz only like, like people who know about that accent only Spanish is because they spent months and months in El Pinchi Pueblo watching Dragon Ball Z Spanish. Cuz they had no choice.
Sebas
Exactly. Like there was nothing else on the channels. We didn't have like that was your life. Yeah. Literally.
Isis
I respect, I respect you.
Sebas
I, I did spend like, honestly I spent a lot of my life in Mexico.
Josh Leyva
Really? Great British accent too though.
Sebas
My family's just.
Steph
We've always travel a lot.
Sebas
Not that we travel a lot, we just always like, it's like, it's like.
Isis
Like myself, I spend like like as a, I don't know, 15 year old, 13 year old, even when I was little. But like let's just say like 14, 15, you know, like June, July. It's vacation.
Sebas
Vacation time.
Isis
So what would my mom do? My man making with all my like. Yeah. So I'm spending like two months in Mexico, bro. Like that does something to you.
Sebas
It really does. Yeah. So I. Every vacation it was like, bro, you.
Isis
Turn on the TV and it's just like, bro, this is another world.
Sebas
You're like flipping trying to find an English channel and there's not.
Isis
It's like oh, Top Gun in Spanish.
Sebas
Yeah, exactly.
Isis
So like it's the same thing with those programs with like Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon. Yeah.
Sebas
I just watched the Fast and the Furious like two days ago. In Spanish.
Isis
Yeah. And it's like, it's the same voice.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Would you spend your summers in Mexico?
Steph
So I was just gonna say that. So my mom comes from Sinaloa, which is like a pretty like drug infect infested area. So when she got out of there, her goal was to get us completely out of there.
Sebas
Yeah.
Steph
So I would ask her too how come I've never been to. I've never been in my life. Because she was like me when I got out of there. That was my goal to get us out of it. I wanted to create a better life for you guys. Why would I take you guys back?
Sebas
Yeah.
Steph
So I've never been a s. Just because she was so, so like she held that to her.
Sebas
I'm really, I'm really thankful. Like where. Well, me and Sal are from the same place in Mexico. Where are. Where we're from. It's. It was never. It for a while it was kind of bad. But it was when I was older. So when I was young, there was never anything like that. Yeah, we're from the coast. Yeah, we're from Nayari.
Steph
Because I wish, I wish I had that experience because I would literally would ask my mom, like, I want to go.
Sebas
Yeah.
Steph
She's like, I would never let you like step up.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. And I think there's like a culture because I'm from Honduras. Like, I'm like, you know, so. And I also spent like summers and all that. My mom would send me to Honduras. And it's just a different cultural experience. Like it really. I think it makes you humble. Like, honest to God, like my mom was a single parent. She worked like three, four, five jobs. Like my mom would work probably 16 hours a day, seven days out of the week and I would never really see her. And like, I didn't understand that that was poor. That my mom needed to have four or five jobs because I went to Honduras. And when I would go to Honduras, there are people living in cardboard tin.
Steph
Right.
Josh Leyva
Wood home.
Isis
Isn't that crazy?
Josh Leyva
And I, and I'm. And I will be leaving there on my little Europa so they can like distribute the clothes to like the people in that colonia. I'm. I'm like, I'm rich. Like, you know what I'm saying? I get to spend all my summers in Honduras. I get to buy these kids lasso gum. I would get so many piohos because all my friends would be so poor. Like, I always have piohos too, every time I get back, literally. And I'm just like, I, I just never understood the concept of being. I didn't realize, like me getting air walks. Cuz my mom couldn't afford van. She couldn't afford, right.
Isis
Hey, yo, I'll be with.
Josh Leyva
I, I like, I didn't like, it didn't register to me that I was poor because I'm like, I've seen poverty.
Steph
Yeah. Yeah.
Josh Leyva
I Just didn't have like access to the MP3s, the iPods.
Isis
Isn't that crazy that like, people that like think that that was my experience. They've never accessed what you've seen.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like, I literally. I remember like one of my friends in front of me. Her name was. Oh, ladies. Her. All their clothes are secondhand clothes. And they would get them sent from the United States to here. And I would go to their house and I will always get piohos because they were so poor. And I remember when I would bring them to my grandma's house, my grandma would be like. And I like, it didn't like make a difference to me because I'm like, these are just my friends. Like, it didn't compute to me. Like poverty and poor and that there's. Even within poverty and being poor, there's different classes of being poor, bro.
Sebas
As a child, like, you don't really.
Josh Leyva
I didn't care. I'm like, these are my. Who knows? They probably just want to be friends with me because I could afford to get them bubblegum.
Isis
But like, now that. Now that your older is like, damn.
Josh Leyva
Like, I'm never poor. I have a house, I have food, I have a job, I have a car, people. Some people don't have anything. I'm so rich. I'm healthy. I'm full bodied and able. Mentally have the capacity. Like, I'm rich. Like, I've seen poverty and that doesn't. That's not. I know that that's not me. And that's not to say that I'm like rich in material.
Isis
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
But like, I've been so fortunate. Like, literally, I don't need to have this 3000 square foot house, man. My little 1200 square foot. It makes me feel rich. That's my home. I come home and I have seen.
Steph
That Bob Marley documentary where they were like interviewing him and he's like, are you a rich man? He's like, what do you mean by rich? Like, he's like, do you have a lot of money? He's like, money makes you rich. He's like, I'm rich off life. Like, I'm rich off my people, my family, my friends and stuff.
Sebas
Yeah, that's why, like, I love that. Like, I love that you guys ran a half marathon. I love that Karen runs and. Because that's where I. I feel like I would think I was really depressed for a while and I couldn't find gratitude in anything. Like, I was just. Not everything was miserable. To me. And I think the moment I was like, you know what? I wake up every day, and I have the ability to use my legs, and it doesn't matter how fast I'm going, but the fact that I can run, the fact that this is free, the fact that I can do this and it can be fun, that is everything to me. I am so blessed. And every time I run, I find so much gratitude in it. It. I, like, I'm like, oh, my gosh, My lungs burn. I'm so lucky that my lungs work. My heart is beating so fast. I'm so lucky that my heart. That my heart is working for me. Like, I definitely feel like gratitude completely shifts your perspective in life. Especially, like, with someone who, like, suffers with depression. That's the hardest thing to be. Like, you know what? Like, I cannot see past this darkness. But once you find that gratitude, like, you just really hold on to it, and you're like, you know what? There's nothing else. It's like, if nothing else, I can run. If nothing else, I can breathe. If nothing else, I can open my eyes. And I. It. It does come from, like, you know, like, I have lost a lot of people to sicknesses, and it just makes you that much more grateful to be able to. Be able to wake up every day. And it's hard to find that, like, that in your life when you're going through a hard time.
Isis
I.
Steph
When we ran that, I literally told Salas, and he kept chanting it throughout the whole run. I was like, isn't it so cool that we don't have to do this, but we get to do this?
Sebas
Yeah.
Steph
And he kept chanting. He's like, we don't have to do this. We get to do this. And that alone was, like, inspiration. It was like, we get to feel this. We get to experience pain and discomfort and the burning in our lungs. That's a privilege.
Sebas
Yeah. Or even, like you said, like, the motivation you get from all these other people running with you, it really is a high of, like, man, we are all here. You're just literally walk, like, running down the street.
Isis
It's the half marathons, the full marathons. It's not about. It's not about running them. It's about getting to run them. It's about allowing yourself to say, yeah, I'm gonna do this. You know what I mean? But, yeah, it's a really good experience. But what the was I gonna say?
Sebas
No, it's awesome. I honestly recommend running. I feel like people are like, oh, who the fuck would do that why would I do that? Why would I pay to run? And it's like you don't have to pay to run. You can run wherever the you want. But I think running like I'm trying to start a running club. I know I had told you like I know we have talked about it before of like that you were doing something with Nike too, which is amazing. And like I'm trying to start a running club and I, I try to tell people like it doesn't matter how fast you run. It just matters that you know that your body can do this and you're doing it like it. All that matters is that you're showing up for you. I run for the pain that I am honoring of my loved ones. That's why I do it. Find a reason to run, but run like find a reason to move your body because you are so lucky that you get to.
Josh Leyva
I take it back. Give that running shoes for. I'll take a it. I'll sign up for. Wait, how much is 5k miles?
Steph
Yeah, like 3.1.
Isis
No, I was, I was, I was running and it's just one of those days where I just like I had a run and I didn't really want to and I, I was running like at a shitty pace because yeah, I didn't want to run.
Sebas
Right.
Isis
And then I passed by this guy, he had a big smile on his face and I was like, why is he smiling? Right? Josh.
Steph
I wasn't there, but sure.
Isis
He had two prosthetic legs.
Sebas
Wow.
Isis
And he was just trying to go as fast as he can. And then I was like, who the am I to be complaining about running?
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
This doesn't even have legs. Sorry sir, you're not a.
Josh Leyva
No, I get what you're saying, but.
Isis
You, you know anything.
Sebas
Yeah, I mean people like do it in like their wheelchairs. Like people do it running with their child. Like it's just the. Like I think it's honoring your body.
Isis
That's why. Uhuh. Thank you for saying that.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
That's why I always tell people just go to marathons. It's very uplifting. I went, I went to the New York marathon because my wife ran it and it was such a amazing marathon, bro. Like the New York marathon is like goals.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
Like at that marathon is like something else. And there were so many people that would go. And there's people like on these like crazy ass chairs that they're like bikes. And then you're just going and going. I'm like, God damn. What an arm workout. Right. There was this guy I think I talked about on the podcast. I'm not sure. I don't have a really good could memory. Right.
Steph
Yeah.
Isis
Okay. And he had no arms. He had no legs. No arms, no legs.
Josh Leyva
Wow.
Isis
He was just straight up. Like, can you picture it?
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Yeah, I can. Quadrup. I think it's a quadri.
Steph
Quadriplegic.
Isis
What is it?
Josh Leyva
Quadriplegic.
Isis
Yeah. That's really cool that you. That you're smart.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Isis
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Thank you.
Isis
And no, but jokes aside, he had a skateboard, and he had a shoe on his. I mean, technically his knee. Right. He did 26 miles, no arms, no legs, push out just his knee, and he was pushing himself on his knee for 20. 26 miles.
Sebas
Wow.
Isis
And the whole time, like, people are clapping at people. People are like, yeah, I go, go, go, go, go. You know, And. And they make the handicapped people go first as well, like, right before the actual athletes. Because if you see the athletes going, like, on the marathon, they're robots, bro. But this guy. And, like, they clap for them. Right? You pay attention to me.
Steph
We got to go on break.
Isis
Finish that in a minute. You don't care about my story, huh?
Steph
Let's go. Wrap it up.
Josh Leyva
I care about the story.
Isis
You care about the story.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. It's inspiring to hear about quadriplegic who's, like, pushing through and has a.
Isis
Don't look at me. What he said. Look at him when you say that.
Josh Leyva
Resilience.
Isis
Yeah. But, you know, imagine what I have to deal with every day.
Josh Leyva
I watch the pond and.
Isis
But the cops. There's cops. There's people that are there, and they're all clapping. But when this dude came with no arms, I don't know. I'm looking at you. No arms, no legs. Oh, my God. It was so inspiring.
Sebas
Yeah.
Isis
It was so inspiring to see this guy for 26 miles pushing a fucking skateboard on his limbs.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Tenacity.
Isis
Yeah. I. I've said it before. If you've never seen or never cheered on for a marathon, you should go, because it's more than just running.
Sebas
No. Yeah. And I. I honestly feel that, too. Like, I feel like going to support marathons. It's so much fun. I think there's, like, such a beautiful energy, and it really gives you appreciation for life.
Isis
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
I remember when you were running, and I felt like, in that moment, you felt a little bit maybe, like, tired. You know, that's what I was saying earlier.
Sebas
Like, it wasn't that I was tired. It's just like, my family did not care. Nobody cared in my life that I was doing that. And, oh, my God, I'm literally like, a full marathon. I did a full marathon, and I. I literally grilled them. I was like, you guys better go. You guys better go, because.
Josh Leyva
And we did show up.
Sebas
Yeah, they were, like, at mile 19. And when I saw them, I literally started stopping because I see so many people, like, with their family, and I'm like, oh, my God, it's so beautiful. And then I'm just like, okay. Like, nobody came for me, and it's okay. Like, I'm not doing this for anyone. But when I saw them, I was like, oh, my God.
Josh Leyva
Like this.
Sebas
Thank you guys for coming.
Josh Leyva
It was so. It was so inspirational to see you, like, run. Honestly, like, maybe, will I sign up for 5k? I can't sit here and lie. But it was inspirational because I think. Think, like, through the adversity, you still suck it through and you push.
Sebas
It was awesome.
Steph
We're good.
Isis
Yeah, we're good.
Josh Leyva
Another truth or sh.
Isis
Late. No, ladies, it's been two hours already.
Sebas
Damn.
Josh Leyva
Oh, my God.
Isis
What do you guys feel? How's. How's.
Josh Leyva
It's been good.
Isis
How's the experience here at La Platica?
Josh Leyva
Review. Yeah.
Isis
Like what? Like. Like, you go on, like, glass door.
Josh Leyva
You know, when you got to put, like, the anonymous reviews of, like, when you were there. Stephanie, you can go first.
Sebas
What the. Putting me in the spot. Okay. I'm having a great time. Thank you guys, honestly, so much for bringing us on. It's. It really is an honor. I didn't want to say that, but it is, like, I thank you guys a lot, honestly. I. Obviously, you know, we're all friends, and I. I love you guys, but it's awesome being here, and it's definitely, like, different being a guest. Guest.
Isis
Yeah.
Sebas
Sorry. If I tried a podcast.
Steph
I love that.
Isis

Isis
Exude, huh? I never heard that one before.

Steph
Meanwhile, my mother was trying to create a better life for me.
Isis
Put me.

In the finest schools, and I had to reap the benefits.
Isis
I get it. I get it, dude.
Josh Leyva
High level overview. I had a phenomenal time. I mean, again, I'm really flattered that you guys asked us to be a part of, you know, La Platica, number one Latino podcast in the world. You didn't hear it from me. I read it off Google.
Sebas
Yeah, but that's going to change soon because I know y'all besties love this.
Josh Leyva
Besties will be number two.
Sebas
I am besties.
Steph
Hope so. I'm looking for a challenge. I'm like, who's gonna challenge us?
Josh Leyva

Josh Leyva
Thank you. We're flattered. We're so proud to be here. I think this, for us, like, you know, for. I am Besties. This is a milestone to get to be on a platform like this and you as two men, Latino men, empowering us and giving us this platform and this space to, you know, showcase who we are and what you'll get if you, you know, tune into I Am Pessies every Wednesday.
Isis
I love it.
Josh Leyva
You know, I. I love it. Like, I really appreciate you guys, and you guys are doing phenomenal work. It's no small feat to get the guests that you have and to do the ventures that you do. It takes a lot of risk to invest in yourself, but there's a lot of ROI in it, and it's clearly paying off.
Steph
You know what our ROI means to us?
Sebas
I don't.
Isis
Return on investment.
Josh Leyva
No. Oh, no. What does it mean?
Isis
What does it mean?
Steph
You don't know?
Isis
Go ahead.
Sebas
I don't.
Isis
I don't know either. Can you say return on investment?
Sebas
That was my roi.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. But overall, I've. We've had.
Sebas
This.
Josh Leyva
Hey, it's very alluring. Exuding. And, yeah, thank you, guys. I mean, yeah, you know, and hopefully the La Platica fam, if y'all enjoyed us, you guys will tune into us. You know, we're, again, a space that empowers women, and we believe in believing in yourself and uplifting yourself, because the world will try to tear you apart. But all you have is you at the end of the day, so you have to be your number one biggest fan. It doesn't mean you're greater or less than anybody. It just means you're the best you. So at besties, we just want everyone to be the best themselves, be better informed, be better people, and hopefully we can then inspire change. Sometimes you're not going to be the change but you could affect change.
Sebas
So I love that. My goodness.
Isis
I was like, when is she going to stop?
Sebas
Jesus.
Isis
Damn.
Steph

And Isis and. And Steph is a sister that you. 100% that you. That you never thought you had, Right?
Sebas

Sebas
You were looking at yourself almost like.
Isis
Yeah, like, I can meet people that are men who kind of have the similar life, but, like, it was so much more beautiful seeing women that have the similar life that Josh and myself have.
Steph

In this vibrant episode of LA PLATICA, hosts Steph and Isis welcome Sebas and Josh Leyva from the popular podcast "I Am Besties." The episode delves deep into the dynamics of friendships, setting boundaries, and cultivating a strong, empowered mentality often referred to as the "Bad Bitch Mentality." The conversation is rich with personal anecdotes, insightful discussions, and empowering advice aimed at fostering meaningful relationships.
Origin Stories and Podcast Missions
Sebas’s Minute Pitch [05:50] Sebas introduces "I Am Besties" as a sanctuary for women seeking a space to connect deeply with friends or “primas.” He explains, “We wanted to create a space where you can be vulnerable in every aspect, talking about meaningful things that make you laugh or feel sad.” The podcast emphasizes empowerment, encapsulated in their motto: “We’re empowered women who empower women.”
Josh’s Journey to La Platica [07:15] Josh shares how he transitioned from being a guest on "I Am Besties" to now being a regular contributor. He mentions, “I got invited to be on their pod as a guest a few times, and it fell in love with me, so now I’m here.” This move signifies a deeper collaborative relationship between LA PLATICA and I Am Besties.
Friendship Dynamics: Men vs. Women
Challenging Traditional Norms [27:03] The conversation turns to how women often find it harder to connect with each other compared to men. Sebas remarks, “I think men’s relationships tend to be a little more superficial, while women are more selective.” This leads to a broader discussion on the societal conditioning that affects how friendships are formed and maintained.
Confrontations and Boundaries [44:45] Josh emphasizes the importance of being confrontational in friendships to maintain healthy boundaries. He states, “Friendships require clear boundaries and addressing uncomfortable topics. It’s not about tearing people down, but understanding and respecting each other’s limits.” Sebas adds, “I’ve learned that holding onto resentment without addressing issues only taints the relationship.”
Personal Growth Through Running
Running as a Metaphor for Life [16:51] Sebas shares his transformation through running, “Running helps me find gratitude in my ability to move my body, breathe, and push through discomfort. It’s a privilege that shifts my perspective on life.” Steph echoes this sentiment, highlighting how their shared experiences in running foster deeper connections and personal growth.
Inspiring Stories from the Track [142:18] Isis recounts a poignant moment during a run, “I passed a guy with two prosthetic legs pushing himself on his knee for 26 miles. It made me realize how fortunate I am and inspired me to keep going.” This story underscores the theme of resilience and appreciating one’s abilities.
Navigating Social Media and Negativity
Handling Online Harassment [48:16] The guests discuss strategies for dealing with negative comments on social media. Sebas explains, “Ignoring trolls is a powerful way to show that their negativity doesn’t affect you.” Josh adds, “Responding with kindness or not engaging at all can defuse harmful interactions. It’s about maintaining your peace.”
The Impact of Digital Interactions [109:10] Steph probes deeper into the emotional toll of online negativity, and Josh responds, “Words can still hurt, but it’s essential to focus on those who matter and not let online hate define your self-worth.” This highlights the importance of self-validation over external criticism.
Thoughtful Gift-Giving During the Holidays
Christmas Gift Stories and Advice [52:21] The conversation shifts to holiday gift-giving, where guests share anecdotes about the best and worst gifts they've received. Sebas recommends, “A spa day is one of the best gifts because it’s something you can enjoy either alone or with loved ones. It doesn’t have to be expensive to be meaningful.” Josh concurs, emphasizing the value of thoughtful gifts over material ones: “Give something that has personal significance, like recreating a childhood memory. It means more than the most expensive gift.”
Avoiding Common Gift Mistakes [85:29] Sebas advises against generic gifts like makeup or kitchen appliances, stating, “Don’t give gifts that don’t align with the person’s interests or needs. It’s better to choose something they will use and appreciate rather than something you benefit from.” This practical advice is aimed at fostering more meaningful and appreciated gift exchanges.
Empowerment and Self-Worth
Knowing Your Worth [117:01] Josh passionately discusses the importance of self-worth, saying, “You have to know your worth from within. Don’t compare yourself to others; instead, focus on your personal growth and what you’ve accomplished.” This message serves as a cornerstone for the episode’s theme of empowerment.
Balancing Masculine and Feminine Energies [126:39] The guests explore the balance between masculine and feminine energies in relationships. Sebas remarks, “My boyfriend is empathetic and caring, which is a quality I find lacking in many men. It’s about respecting and valuing each other’s core characteristics.” This discussion reinforces the episode’s focus on healthy and empowering relationships.
Closing Thoughts and Mutual Appreciation
Building Meaningful Relationships [147:58] As the episode concludes, Sebas and Josh express their appreciation for being part of LA PLATICA, highlighting the mutual respect and shared goals between the podcasts.
