Josh Leyva
Why I. Yeah, you know what I mean. Just make out with Summer. But bro, make out with Summer.
Matt
It's Summer, dude. Hey, why? Why when we were little kids, all the hot girls, why were they all name. Why was their name Summer?
Josh Leyva
I don't want to know a single Summer. Except for.
Matt
Are you kidding me? What about Summer Sanders?
Josh Leyva
Oh, and the girl, Summer from School of Rock.
Matt
Yeah. Well, do you know who Summer Sanders is?
Josh Leyva
Yeah, Summer Sanders.
Matt
Who?
Josh Leyva
The Summer Sanders, the girl.
Matt
I don't know. Maybe I'm a little too old. Yeah, but I'm not cuz I feel like I'm sexy. Summer Sanders is the host of Figure it Out on Nickelodeon. Do you remember that show Figure it Out?
Josh Leyva
Yes, I do.
Matt
There was a huge like skull brain and the contestants had to figure out, wow. What?
Josh Leyva
Remember that her name almost like Family Feud.
Matt
Yeah, it was her Name was Summer Sanders. Super hot.
Josh Leyva
Can we talk about Topanga?
Matt
Can I tell you something crazy? So everybody had a crush on Topanga, right? Yeah, I saw Topanga. Huh?
Josh Leyva
At. At the Topanga Mall. I remember you told me. I thought you were like, Josh and me. No, I was like, you joshing me.
Matt
And when I ever first. When I first went to the Topanga Mall, I was like, oh, Topanga. Like, that's a cool name. Because of the girl from Boy Meets World. And I saw her there, bro, at Nordstrom's.
Josh Leyva
That's so sick.
Matt
I saw her and I was like, damn, that's crazy. That's my childhood. Do you remember?
Josh Leyva
Did you go up to her?
Matt
No. I was so shy, bro.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, right. Yeah, yeah.
Matt
What do you say? Topanga. You're at Topanga.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, Topanga. You're at Topanga. That's the line.
Matt
And she goes, yeah, I know.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, you idiot.
Matt
Probably. She probably hates going to Topanga, cuz it's all the time.
Josh Leyva
I know.
Matt
Like, do you remember the main character?
Josh Leyva
The. The kid, Cory or Sean?
Matt
No, that was a brother Sean or the friend Sean. No, Mr. Feeny. No, you know everybody except the main character, Cory. Sean.
Josh Leyva
Mr. Feeny.
Matt
Dude. The main guy.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, the main guy.
Matt
Boy meets World.
Josh Leyva
Boy meets world.
Matt
What's his name?
Josh Leyva
Sean.
Matt
No, Sean. No, John. Kevin Arnold.
Josh Leyva
No, that's his real name. I'm talking about his character name. What kind of bullshit was it really? What?
Matt
I thought it was Kevin Arnold.
Josh Leyva
Kevin Arnold was not his. That's his real name.
Matt
Are you sure?
Josh Leyva
Look it up for you. You're so. I don't know about you sometimes, bro. I don't like this solo episode. You're so. You're. You're dumber, dude. Hold on.
Matt
Hold on, boy.
Josh Leyva
Yo, so just FYI, while somebody is searching this up on the Google, while you're at it, just check it for the number one Latino podcast in the world. Things are shifting, guys.
Matt
Wait. I'm so sorry. I am so wrong.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. No freaking dog.
Matt
Dude, his name, his real name is Ben Savage.
Josh Leyva
Oh, yeah.
Matt
And it's Cory Matthews.
Josh Leyva
That's what I said. That's what I said.
Matt
Oh, my God. I'm sorry.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Cory.
Matt
Who's Kevin Arnold?
Josh Leyva
Yo, Cory Matthews.
Matt
Oh, Kevin Arnold is from the Wonder Years. Oh, remember that kid?
Josh Leyva
Of course.
Matt
Cool ass kid.
Josh Leyva
Cool ass kid.
Matt
Oh, I got him confused. Yeah, that's my bad.
Josh Leyva
Bro. I loved Boy Meets World. I feel like it kind of shaped me a little bit. Like there's so much, like, good, like, morals to that show. Like, Mr. Feeney, like, life lessons that he.
Matt
It's all life lessons. Yeah.
Josh Leyva
And I feel like I learned a lot.
Matt
It's a great show.
Josh Leyva
They don't make shows like that, man. Freaking.
Matt
They make shows like Love Island.
Josh Leyva
Great show.
Matt
Great show.
Josh Leyva
Great show.
Matt
Yeah. I have a trivia question for you. Very random.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, I was hoping for that.
Matt
I'm gonna tell you a word in Spanish. Okay. And you're gonna tell me what's, like, what it is or what's it mean in English.
Josh Leyva
Okay, sure.
Matt
Fair enough. Might be difficult for you.
Josh Leyva
Probably not.
Matt
The word is. Huh?
Josh Leyva
And this is a real word?
Matt
Yeah, it's a real world.
Josh Leyva
But hold on, hold on. I'm narrowing this down. Is it slang? No, it's a real dictionary word. Yeah, like, it's in the dictionary.
Matt
Yeah. What does pitufo mean?
Josh Leyva
Pitufo means, like, somebody with, like, big feet.
Matt
You know? I know that. You up? Could you take a sip right after.
Josh Leyva
Am I wrong?
Matt
Yeah, you're wrong. You want one more chance? I'll give you another chance.
Josh Leyva
Pitufo. Is it somebody with a big.
Matt
Maybe?
Josh Leyva
Is it.
Matt
It's a smurf.
Josh Leyva
What do you mean?
Matt
Like a smurf? Like the blue guys.
Josh Leyva
That's how you say it in Spanish? Did you just, like, learn this word or something?
Matt
No, I just saw a ptufo recently in real life. Huh?
Josh Leyva
What are you talking about?
Matt
Yeah. And I was like, no.
Josh Leyva
What do you. No. What do you mean?
Matt
Yeah, I'm gonna challenge Josh.
Josh Leyva
No, but what do you mean you saw real Pitufo in real life?
Matt
Yeah, I saw him.
Josh Leyva
No, but are you on drugs? What do you mean they're not real? They are Smurfs.
Matt
Smurfs are real.
Josh Leyva
What's a smurf, bro?
Matt
Sometimes people are like, dang, why is that was the way he is, huh? It's because I see, bro. I deadass see.
Josh Leyva
And you saw a pitufo?
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
And you, like, took it in and you didn't, like, freak out? Nothing. Did you record them?
Matt
No, I was like, damn, those are real. Anyways, yeah.
Josh Leyva
And you just moved on with your life.
Matt
Bone Thugs in harmony.
Josh Leyva
Crazy. What's the craziest you've ever crazy you've ever seen? Have you seen some crazy? Like, have you ever seen anything that you. Not necessarily, like a ufo, but something that, like, really like? You're like, what the. Have you.
Matt
I'm being dead ass right now, too. You can't see me because of my eyes. Yeah, but I'm being dead ass. Okay, one time back when I first kind of like the first years of me, the first wonder years of me with being with Karen. I lived at my parents house. She lived with her parents. It's funny how like she was able to stay the night at my house. Like my parents didn't really care cuz they love Karen and it's not that they didn't love me but like for a woman to. For her man to sleep over at.
Josh Leyva
Their house, that's kind of crazy too.
Matt
Yeah, it's crazy. I wouldn't let that happen either. But luckily the parents would help. That would allow me to maybe sleep in the Salah, you know, because we're already like a couple years deep, you know, like we're serious. It wasn't like I just met her.
Josh Leyva
Right.
Matt
But like I can't sleep in a room. Right? Respectable. I. I didn't want to but you were sneaking. But I would want to.
Josh Leyva
Dirty dog.
Matt
Wouldn't you? Well, not with Karen.
Josh Leyva
But yeah, I get you.
Matt
Yeah. But you know, obviously you know how I got it. Yeah. Teenage. I'm just a teenage.
Josh Leyva
You were like.
Matt
No, no, I wasn't even a teenager. I was a teenager. No.
Josh Leyva
Are you up?
Matt
Actually maybe I was. No. You are 21. Teen.
Josh Leyva
Hey, you up? What are you doing?
Matt
Sleeping. What you do is just dead ass snoring. No, but so Karen in the beginning of her career. Well, I mean, I don't know. She used to do a lot of freelance makeup, right? Like freelance makeup. Weddings, events, shows like that. Like she's popping. So I would go with her to LA and we used to live in the ie. So we drive all the way to LA in the morning and then we'd get back late at night, you know, because obviously something working late at night or like we would go and end up doing out there, you know, spend the day. We'd come back to the IE super late, bro. And I'm pretty sure everybody in the IE can. Can kind of relate to this because that's like what you would do, you know, you would either be an IE or you like go and travel and then come back real quick. So we get to her house. Obviously I can't sleep in her room. Respectable. It's sleeping or what? No, no, but she, it's cool because like she would be able to sleep with me, not with me sofa but like in the other sofa. You know. I'll feel bad because she doesn't got to do that. But she would, she would do that sometimes.
Josh Leyva
This would be close to you.
Matt
Yeah. And I remember we were so Tired, bro. Like one of those times where like. And it's dangerous. Don't do this. Have you been like driving at like three in the morning and you're so tired that you like put the window down, go like this.
Josh Leyva
You have to wake up and finally go. Yeah, yeah. You know what I do? I cause pain to myself. Like I'll just.
Matt
Yeah, I've done it before. I've slapped myself before.
Josh Leyva
I'll bite my lip as hard as I can. Yeah.
Matt
And that's what I'm saying. Do not do that. Right? Like you don't have to do that.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
And I remember we get to. And people were back at home. Like get to the story. Well, we're in the room in the salah. And then she knocks out, bro. Karen has this like crazy power of like knocking out instantly. I don't. But I'm finally dating.
Josh Leyva
Till this day.
Matt
Till this day, bro.
Josh Leyva
I'm so jealous.
Matt
Dang, baby, I'm so tired. For real.
Josh Leyva
You know what that means?
Matt
Dead asleep.
Josh Leyva
That means she has a clean conscience. Like she's just like not just not tripping about nothing.
Matt
I love that.
Josh Leyva
Us.
Matt
Not at all, bro.
Josh Leyva
No, I actually fall asleep decently fast.
Matt
It's incredible how they just fall asleep. Like no big deal, bro. It's actually incredible. I wish I had that because I, I suffer with like going to sleep quick.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
I'm doing like 30 pounder nostrils, bro. Just to like sleep.
Josh Leyva
I've tried everything.
Matt
Yeah. But I started taking like common sleep. Works.
Josh Leyva
Works a lot.
Matt
There's some like gummies.
Josh Leyva
I just got 10 for 10 off your taste. Salute Purchases.
Matt
Ticketing purchase app.
Josh Leyva
I was going to say ticket.
Matt
So. So I'm finally dazing off, right? And like the lights are kind of dim. It's not completely dark. You know, I think maybe like the kitchen light, one of them is on. Like the counter lights are on. You know those like little ones so I can see stuff, right? And so she's dead asleep and I finally close my eyes, right? And then I wake up. I wake up, bro. Dead ass. And I'm looking into the, into the kitchen. Because the saddle, you can see it through the kitchen.
Josh Leyva
Hold on. Just, just to like refresh. This is at her house.
Matt
This is at her house.
Josh Leyva
Okay, I gotcha.
Matt
This is at her house. Okay. In the Inland Empire I eat. And so, so I wake up and I look down and I'm looking towards the kitchen and I see this, I would say 8 foot tall object, but it had legs, a torso, arms and a head. You know what his body was made up of. It was crazy. But do you know what it was made up of? Obviously you don't. It was made.
Josh Leyva
Could I guess?
Matt
Sure.
Josh Leyva
Mashed potatoes.
Matt
Great guess. Was that close? Extremely good guess. Yeah, but it was actually his whole body. Karen knows this story. I tell the story all the time. Because this is real. A lot of people think I'm always sarcastic, which I am, but it's real. It was made out of drums.
Josh Leyva
Wait, what? Drums. The body was made out of drums. Like multiple drums.
Matt
A shitload of drums.
Josh Leyva
Did you just do the drum line?
Matt
Yeah. Did you get that?
Josh Leyva
Great movie. Great movie, bro. When they do the stick and then they drop it. Yeah. Point the stick and then they drop it.
Matt
And it was like, oh, great movie. Watch it again.
Josh Leyva
If you guys have not seen Drum Light with Nick Cannon, do yourself a favor and watch it.
Matt
Josh, let me tell you something real quick. I saw it recently. I was like, this movie is so good.
Josh Leyva
Because I was like, that's a good. In the cut reference, bro.
Matt
I saw it recently. Huh? It's not as good as it was.
Josh Leyva
No.
Matt
I swear to God, bro. I could have sworn that they would. They were so much cooler and doing cooler.
Josh Leyva
It's not that cool.
Matt
It wasn't that cool, bro. It was when we were little.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
And it's just like it looked cool and it is a good movie. You should watch it. It's with Nick Cannon. He had good movies back then.
Josh Leyva
He did. He did.
Matt
Love Don't Cost a Thing. Wait, Christina. Great movie. Million.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Christina. Milan.
Matt
Great movie.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. What's the one where he's like a cop? There's one. Yeah. He's like a cop is really funny too.
Matt
I've never seen that one.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. But anyways, continue to. So hold on, let me get this straight. You saw this eight foot figure.
Matt
Mind you, I'm really tired and it's like three in the morning.
Josh Leyva
Are you. Are you. Can I ask you a series of questions? Were you intoxicated?
Matt
No, ma'. Am.
Josh Leyva
Holy shit.
Matt
No, ma'. Am.
Josh Leyva
Shit's going down over there.
Matt
No, ma', am, I'm not.
Josh Leyva
Were you. Could you have been sleeping? Like, would you partially sleep, partially awake?
Matt
I'm kind of getting there, so.
Josh Leyva
Oh, so there's more to the story. Oh, God. Okay, so eight foot figure, made of drums.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
So I'm like this awesome barumpa. Yeah, literally, bro.
Matt
Eight foot tall. And like, it wasn't like, no, friendly. Like he looked mad, but he didn't have a face. So isn't that crazy? How I knew he was mad, but he didn't have a face.
Josh Leyva
You can feel his.
Matt
Like, I can just feel his energy. Eight foot tall, bro. Just looking at me. And you know what he's doing? Because obviously he's mad at the drums, right?
Josh Leyva
Obviously.
Matt
So he takes his drum arms and his drum hands, but his fingers were made out of those. The sticks, right?
Josh Leyva
Drumsticks.
Matt
Drumsticks.
Josh Leyva
But not the ice cream or the.
Matt
Or the. Or the. Or the pollito leg.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. But not that.
Matt
He was looking at me and he was going this.
Josh Leyva
Can I say something? That's kind of sick.
Matt
I know, but isn't that kind of scary?
Josh Leyva
Yeah, I mean, well, yeah, I'm talking.
Matt
It was loud, bro. He was banging his body like his stomach was a big ass drum. But he would make that noise, ram, brah. And I'm like this, bro, 22 years old, fool. Like this. Not a hair on my balls breaked up.
Josh Leyva
Just.
Matt
No, I was not bricked up. Can you explain to people what bricked up is? So a lot of people may not know. I learned this word, like, three years ago.
Josh Leyva
What? Bricked up?
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Bricked up is when you are aroused and your boner is bonering.
Matt
Yes.
Josh Leyva
You break that.
Matt
Yeah. Feels like a brick.
Josh Leyva
It's a brick.
Matt
Yeah. Kind of a soft, squishy brick.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Did you just learn bricked up three years ago? Wow. To this day, yeah.
Matt
Did you know that in, like in high school, Cerritos breaked up?
Josh Leyva
No. No.
Matt
You were still on the birdie.
Josh Leyva
So birdies and bricks.
Matt
So he's going like this, right? Wow.
Josh Leyva
Boom.
Matt
And I'm like this, bro, Bricked up. As. This is a serious true story, bro. I hope he doesn't return.
Josh Leyva
And.
Matt
And you know, at one moment, I just. I'm just stunned, bro. Like, what is going on? You know, Like, I just got home. He couldn't wait. So I finally snap out of it, bro. And right when. And I don't know why, it was like, I was scared, but, like, I got to do something about it, right? Like, let me go fuck this fool up real quick. So as soon. As soon as I get up really quick and go do something, I wake up, I wake up and he's not there. And, bro, I look around and it's so eerie. It's almost like I know there's something here.
Josh Leyva
Did it.
Matt
I couldn't go back to.
Josh Leyva
Did it feel demonic?
Matt
Yes.
Josh Leyva
Oh, it did. Yeah. I don't want to say there's a dark energy.
Matt
There's a dark energy. I don't want to say it was demonic, as in like it was a demon something. But it. There was definitely some dark feeling to it. 100, dude.
Josh Leyva
Damn.
Matt
Yeah. So that. That was crazy.
Josh Leyva
Did you wake up Karen?
Matt
I did and she would tell me like sometimes like there's some crazy going on.
Josh Leyva
Oh, no way.
Matt
Yeah, I swear.
Josh Leyva
She has her parents still live at that house?
Matt
No, they moved. Yeah. Yeah. So you couldn't go back to sleep? Nah, bro.
Josh Leyva
But you. And you don't think you were like dreaming.
Matt
So as. As much as a dream, it fell. I swear, bro. And that's why I tell the story, because it sticks with me. It was so vivid. It was so vivid. I saw something, bro, but I woke up out of it. But I also think that like when we fall asleep and we go into these dreams, it's our soul living another life in another like universe.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Like we're like so soul hopping.
Matt
Yeah. I don't know if it's our own soul doing that because I sometimes feel like one soul per. Per. Per vessel.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. No, it's our soul.
Matt
It's our soul. The vessel in a vessel.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Experiencing something else because we never can see in a mirror.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
But I noticed that in a dream you don't see in the mirror. You don't know what you look like in a dream.
Matt
I've never thought about that, but.
Josh Leyva
No, yeah, think about it.
Matt
But I do believe that like our soul is for one vessel. But I also believe that. I don't know, I feel like it's true. Like when I dream, it's either that my soul. Which is me. Right. Because when I say me, I don't mean me what you see.
Josh Leyva
Right.
Matt
I mean physically, I mean my thoughts and my soul.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, and your. And your kind of experiences too.
Matt
Because what you see be and how I talk and who I am, that's just the instrument that my soul is using.
Josh Leyva
Right.
Matt
But my soul is. You can't see souls. Right.
Josh Leyva
Maybe you can feel souls.
Matt
You can feel souls. I believe that.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
But like you're just the. The car.
Josh Leyva
I'm just a shell.
Matt
You're just a shell.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
Thankfully you're a good looking shell.
Josh Leyva
Thank God.
Matt
And you know, I sometimes think that when we dream, it's either my soul in another parallel universe. Universe. Universe at the moment or in the past or in the. In the future.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, I guess.
Matt
So the only thing that can be kind of crazy.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. But like when you're dreaming sometimes like you're kind of remembering, referencing things that are in your current life. You Know what I mean? Like, for example, like, you ever had dreams about people in your life? Like, that's not, maybe that could be in another universe too. But like, I don't know. A lot of the times it's like, very current to like, where your life is.
Matt
Sure. Too sure.
Josh Leyva
It goes, it goes everywhere.
Matt
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It can bounce around, it can be present.
Josh Leyva
Yes.
Matt
It could be something that happened in my soul in the past.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Or something that it's isn't happening currently in another parallel universe.
Matt
Because, bro, I believe in higher power. I believe in Jesus Christ.
Josh Leyva
Same.
Matt
But I also believe that my soul has been bouncing around.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, but do you think it was like, orchestrated like that? What to, for your soul to be bouncing around. Like, do you think God did that?
Matt
I, I don't know.
Josh Leyva
Well, if you believe in God, then the answer has to be yes.
Matt
Yeah. You know, I don't know. Is it like, I believe in Jesus Christ, but don't get me wrong, I'm not very knowledgeable with religion like that.
Josh Leyva
No.
Matt
You know, like, I, I, I've never read the whole Bible.
Josh Leyva
I, from my understanding, there is nothing about that in the Bible.
Matt
Right.
Josh Leyva
So this is just our theory.
Matt
Right.
Josh Leyva
But yeah, that's not saying that God is not the creator of all of that. Because he would be.
Matt
Yeah, he would be.
Josh Leyva
But it's not in the Bible. It's not like there's parallel universes.
Matt
Yeah, I don't know.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, but, but that's very interesting. I love this kind of conversation too. Because what I love about it, what.
Matt
I love everybody thinks about it, it's real.
Josh Leyva
And we won't know the answers in this lifetime, in this. Well, maybe. How do I say this? Like, we won't really know until we like, potentially pass on. You know what I mean? Like we won't know. So it's just more fun, like think about.
Matt
And it is, it's fun topics to think about that nobody ever likes even talking about it, but everybody thinks about it.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
Yeah. Because like I said, I believe in Jesus Christ, I believe in a higher power, But I do feel like when we are born, we get attached to a soul.
Josh Leyva
When we are born, we get attached to a soul.
Matt
Or when we're in the, or we're in our, our mother's stomach.
Josh Leyva
I think we are always a soul. I think what the, the true essence of who we are is our soul. And I think we've always been that.
Matt
Do you think that when you pass away, your soul passes with you?
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
Or it goes to somebody else.
Josh Leyva
But I think who you are as a. As an as at everything, as everything is your soul. That is everything of who you are. I think it's all wrapped in your soul. You know what I mean? Like, that is who you are.
Matt
Sure, sure.
Josh Leyva
So I think, like, when you came into this earth. When you say you came into this earth, what I'm implying is that your soul came into this earth and then it happened to be in your vessel. You.
Matt
Okay. Yes.
Josh Leyva
You get me.
Matt
Yeah. Yeah.
Josh Leyva
So when you die, your shell stays here on earth.
Matt
Right.
Josh Leyva
But your soul goes where? Great question. That's the. That's the most important question on Earth.
Matt
To heaven.
Josh Leyva
Maybe. I'm gonna. According to the Bible, I think that that's how.
Matt
What about if your soul gives a little bit of itself to heaven?
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
But it finds another vessel.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
Because that's what souls do. Because if you think about it. If you think about it and what we're talking about.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
That's what a soul's been doing its whole life is hopping around vessels.
Josh Leyva
I guess. I guess my question back to you is, like. But who orchestrates that? Who. Who does that?
Matt
You would think Jesus Christ or God.
Josh Leyva
Right. Like, he. Like that's part of the whole journey of.
Matt
Hey, guys. But by the way, we're just talking and we're getting really, like, intellectual. But then we're just. This might not be true.
Josh Leyva
But no. 100.
Matt
This fun conversation.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Matt
Yeah. It's. It's kind of hard to like. Like. Because we're all probably wrong.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. The chances of us being wrong are probably more.
Matt
Way higher.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Than not.
Matt
Yeah. But. Because I believe that our. Our body. And maybe it's not even called us all. Maybe that's just what humanity called it. But it's this certain energy. Right. That makes our bodies run. You're not. You were built out of atoms and flesh and blood and organs and a bunch of mush. There's no battery up your butt.
Josh Leyva
Oh, you don't know that.
Matt
And, like, running shit. You know what I mean?
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
There's. There's an energy in us.
Josh Leyva
I just think, like, where it gets, like, confusing to me is if we have always been this, like, soul bouncing around, like, you're saying that we could potentially have been. How come we don't remember anything prior? Like, is this the first soul we've ever bounced into?
Matt
Well, that's another question that we will never know.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
But they say, like, for example. And I. I don't really believe this but they say that, for example, do you have a phobia?
Josh Leyva
No.
Matt
Other than kissing me in the lips?
Josh Leyva
No.
Matt
So I do. And that is the phobia of being scared of high altitudes.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
And a lot of people are. Right. But they say that in your past life that's how you died, that's how you passed away. But that's so many people die from out from high altitude. Because that's like a really common phobia.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Yeah.
Matt
But they say that a lot of things that you're scared of in life, it's because of your past life. Because there's some people that are not scared of that.
Josh Leyva
I'm not like zero. I am not trying to be like macho. I'm like, I'm not scared of heights. I don't, I don't even understand the idea of like, I'm like, oh, are you scared you're going to fall?
Matt
When we watched the Alpinist the other day in the same bed underneath the same covers when we were in Chicago.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
The day before our show and we were in the same covers.
Josh Leyva
Besides the point.
Matt
Besides the point. We watched the Alpinist.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
My hands were sweaty as yours weren't.
Josh Leyva
No. You know what? My, my toxic trait is that I could do that. That's my toxic trait. I thought I started putting myself in that situation. I'm like, could I do that? Could I train for that? I didn't think like, oh my God, without a rope. Yeah. I started thinking like, could I do that? And then I would look at it. I'm like, I feel like it's not that crazy.
Matt
Real quick. By the way, everybody back at home, one of the best documentaries you'll ever see. There's two. One is Free solo and the other one is the Alpinist. Watch it. Amazon Prime. I get no money from that.
Josh Leyva
No. It's a great movie. It's a great doc in. Incredible doc. Kind of life changing doc if you think about it. It's very inspiring.
Matt
It's not about what he did and the heights and, and I mean he did incredible, incredible accomplishments as a human. It's more about the, the meaning to that. What I got was how to take and grasp life with no regrets. Being happy. He didn't care about how much money he made. He didn't care about anything other than climbing and being with his girlfriend.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
And being happy, bro. They were in a tent raining and like just amazing things. Accomplishment. Oh, I'm getting on top of that, that mountain and when I get there, I'm gonna have this feeling of joy and accomplishment, and it keeps him so sane. He looks so peaceful.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
It was crazy.
Josh Leyva
It's a great documentary. I. I highly recommend watching it as well. I have a pretty crazy story as well. It's not. It's completely different than yours in the sense that yours. I would assume yours is more spiritual.
Matt
You think mine is spiritual?
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Like, yours is more of, like, you saw. I don't know, it's more like maybe spiritual is not the right word. It was.
Matt
No, no, no. Yeah, but. Yeah, I know what you mean.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
I had to do more with, like, your subconscious and your hallucination of reality, of what is real, what is not mine is.
Matt
Do you mind telling us this story?
Josh Leyva
Pure reality. Should we. Should we.
Matt
I think we should go on. On a break.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
So everybody can go to the restroom real quick. Go number one.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. I will say this. Can I preface this? The story that I'm gonna tell. You know this story?
Matt
I do.
Josh Leyva
I don't think I've ever talked about this story publicly.
Matt
And you're willing to say that right now? You're willing to talk about it?
Josh Leyva
And I'm not even trying to, like, exaggerate. I'm even gonna give people a warning that if you are, like, sensitive to. I don't. I don't want to say, because I don't know if we can get, like, in trouble for saying the word on.
Matt
YouTube, but, like, sensitive to what? Peanuts?
Josh Leyva
No.
Matt
What? Oh, that. I was like, what?
Josh Leyva
The S word. The S word of offing yourself. Offing yourself. That's like the tick tock terminology.
Matt
Offing yourself. Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Fool.
Matt
Oh, no. Let's go on a break, and then I'll tell you.
Josh Leyva
And then I'm pretty sure most people know.
Matt
Offing yourself.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, it's a. It's a crazy story about that. That I experienced.
Matt
I'm actually excited you said you told me.
Josh Leyva
I've told you this story. Yeah, I've told this story. I've never said it publicly, only because of, like, a sensitive subject, but we went into this, and this is, like, a crazy story that I don't want to say.
Matt
It's a good story, but it's.
Josh Leyva
It's, like, very intriguing, I guess I.
Matt
Love when Josh gets vulnerable.
Josh Leyva
No, it's not about me. It's something I experienced.
Matt
Okay.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. That I was. I witnessed.
Matt
Well, then, we'll be right back.
Josh Leyva
Like, you know how we just preface the question. What is the craziest thing you've ever seen? This is my story. My name is Josh Leyva. This is my story. I'm so intrigued.
Matt

Josh Leyva
Why would you just hop into a podcast and fast Forward to the 30 minute mark? But sure.
Matt
On the break, he. I didn't know he was talking about. He told me what he was talking about.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
And yes, he's told me this story. I've actually lived. You were there through it, live through it in some sort of way. And it is a crazy story. Yeah. So.
Josh Leyva
And I want to be sensitive to people. Like I said, I was about to.
Matt
Say that you should say all respects due to.
Josh Leyva
To this. To this person.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
I don't want to ruin the story, but like I said, if you are sensitive to these kind of things, offing yourself, maybe pause the video and look up what offing yourself means. If you don't know what that means before you listen to the story. Like I said, I've. This story takes place in 2015. So this is literally 10 years ago, which is kind of crazy to think about. And I've never told this story only because, like, just trying to be like, respectful and like, I didn't really know.
Matt
There's no reason to say it.
Josh Leyva
There was no reason to say it. But like, I guess today kind of lend itself to. Yeah, I guess share this story.
Matt
Which is wild.
Josh Leyva
Which is wild. So like I said, this story takes place in 2015 in downtown Los Angeles. At the time, I was living at this apartment complex called the Watermark. And if you guys been in downtown la, you. You might have seen the building that I'm talking about. If you don't know it, it's this beautiful building. It's. It looks like a watermark, essentially. It's like, it's like all glass. It's a green blue glass that stretches 36ft in the air.
Matt
Right. A gorgeous building.
Josh Leyva
Gorgeous building. At that time, that apartment complex was popping. It was beautiful. Gorgeous.
Matt
Beautiful high rises in downtown Los Angeles. In the more nicer area, I think they call it South Park.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, I. I really did enjoy living in downtown, especially at that time. And at that complex, I was literally maybe two blocks away from the Stable center, which was just the coolest thing ever.
Matt
Coolest, mind you. When I first met Josh, he was.
Josh Leyva
Living here at the Watermark. Yeah. And that was like my first move to la. La. You know what I mean?
Matt
Great move.
Josh Leyva
Great move. So the Watermark was very known for shooting commercials on the seventh floor because of the fact that it was by the pool. There was just like these really cool amenities that just look very, like, elegant. And I could see why people would want to utilize that for like, commercials. So the seventh floor was two stories below mine. I lived on the ninth floor and the way the apartment was set up, I had this really cool long balcony that basically sold me the apartment complex. What I mean, long balcony? Guys, like, if you go to down.
Matt
It'S like a backyard.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. If you go to downtown LA and you find the Watermark, you'll see this, like elongated. It's the only one, like cement balcony that stretches out basically into the middle of downtown.
Matt
It was like the, the high rises. Little boner.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Yeah. So I remember when I first saw that apartment. The apartment is cool. It's a one bedroom apartment. But that balcony, like, was unreal because people get balconies. Yeah.
Matt
You got a balcony, backyard.
Josh Leyva
It's a. It was so balcony boner. Yeah. So long. So the balcony extended out that you could look over and see the seventh floor, meaning you can see the pool. So I had like a view to the pool and the pool area and everything. And then seventh floor, like I said, is where they would shoot all their commercials. Okay. All commercials, all the time. And I remember one day, this is a time I was like, Peak YouTube. I was making videos all the time. I had videographers, I had editors. People were like, come. Come to my place all the time to like shoot, Right. And that day my videographer came over and I went downstairs obviously to let him up and also help him out with like his equipment or everything else he needed. Right. And I remember it was his first time visiting this apartment complex because I had just moved there. And as we were coming up, I'll never forget, there was this guy who was making himself a coffee in the lobby area, right? And he sees us with all our camera equipment and he stops me and he goes, oh, are you guys shooting a commercial on the seventh floor? And I was like, oh, no, no. We're just filming some, like, personal content. He was like, personal content. And I was like, not that kind of personal content, but. And then I remember my videographer. His name was Andy, by the way. Shout out Andy if you haven't talked to him in a while, but hope you're doing well, bro. And he was like, what does he mean by that? And I go, oh, it's just like. Apparently they just shoot a lot of commercials here on the seventh floor. He's like, you know, and I'll show it to you. It's really cool. So he's. Okay, that's cool. So I had this thing where whenever I would invite new people into my apartment when they're. The first time I would. I had this little tour set up, right? I start in the kitchen, I make my way, and I, like, loop around to the glass window. And then I come back, and then, of course, I would end on the balcony, right? Because that was the grand finale.
Matt
You've given me that tour.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, it's. It's the tour. And I had it, like, dialed in, bro. I had like, like, points and little jokes.
Matt
You're a big dog, bro.
Josh Leyva
I was like, like, what's that one? Ride the tram ride at Universal. That was me, right? And to our left, we have the. So we. We finally get to the balcony and we're walking out. Mind you, this guy is very experienced in film. My videographer, very experienced in film editing Hollywood. Like, he's in that world. Okay? So we're walking through our balcony. This will make sense. Right now, we're walking out the balcony, and he obviously looks out to the pool area, and he goes. And he, like, kind of, like, pauses and, like, kind of, like taking it in. And then, like, I kind of notice it, but I don't, like, make too much mind of it. Then he looks at me and he goes, oh, is that a prop body? Now? That doesn't make sense. He basically thought that they were shooting a commercial on the seventh floor and that there was a body double or a prop body that they were using for some sort of commercial just laid out. And I was a little taken back because I was like, that's an odd question to ask, right? So I look over, and, dude, my heart dropped to my stomach. I have never experienced or seen anything like that with my two eyes.
Matt
I mean, there's people that will never even see someone dead, right?
Josh Leyva
So I look over and I just see a body on the floor, like, bro.
Matt
And you can see it from your balcony from here. To there.
Josh Leyva
This is the cement. I don't know if you guys can see this. I don't know if it's in the wide. Matt, we can cut to the wide here. This is the cement, right? He was all the way to the floor, meaning he broke through cement. And I. And I immediately knew. I was like, that is not a prop body. And I couldn't even talk, bro. Like, my. My throat closed up. Like, I was like, so even right now. I can feel like I can cry. I was so like, what. What is happening right now? And I was like, dude, that. That's. That's not a prop body. That's. That's a real human body.
Matt
Someone jumped.
Josh Leyva
Someone had jumped. And immediately I called downstairs and they had already told me, no. There's a police investigation going on right now. They have it all taped up. The reason why the seventh floor is closed is because we're investigating. And. And just like, please, if you can just, like, stay in your room or if you need to exit out, just, like, take the elevator straight to the garage. And, bro, it was just so crazy because after that, I. I couldn't. This is really weird. And I don't know if this is like a. Like a thing, but, like, I couldn't get my eyes off of it. I was just so, like, I couldn't stop looking. I was just like, this is insane. And this is like, a really weird take. But, like, I've never seen something so still. Like, there was, like. You could tell there was no soul anymore. It was just a shell. It was so heartbreaking, bro. And I remember, like, the forensics team was there, and the way they, like, just are so numb to it baffled me. They were just lifting them up and, like. Like it was nothing. Like, it was another Tuesday to them. And I was just like, this is crazy. Like, this is insane. But that's just part of their job. They're doing their investigation work. And then. It's so crazy. I remember two days later, I, like, looked over and it was like nothing had ever happened there. Like, they fixed it so quick. Like, even the concrete, everything, pz, everything, like, it was like if I told somebody that's where it happened, they would be like, really? Like, it was like a brand new. Within two days, bro, they did not hesitate. As soon as they remove the body, they started working on it. Wow. Yeah. And that was probably the craziest things I've ever laid my eyes on. And that was, like, wild. And I remember my manager at the time, he was really worried about me because Dude, I have a very, like, sensitive, like, spirit. Like, I get kind of shaken.
Matt
Yeah. Easily, like.
Josh Leyva
And he kept telling me, like, stop thinking about it. Stop looking like, get your mind distracted. Like, it. You need to, like, clear yourself from that because that could really harm you. He was telling me that. He's like, you need to, like, remove yourself from that because it could harm you. Because I don't know this man. Right. I ended up finding out that it was somebody who didn't live in that building.
Matt
No way.
Josh Leyva
Didn't live in that building. He didn't have any identification on him. He just walked in with nothing on him, but with the clothes that he was wearing and went all the way to the top and did that. Yeah, he just walked in. He was able to get access to the top. He figured it out.
Matt
You can get access to the top if you really tried to.
Josh Leyva
Exactly, yeah, exactly. And we're talking like 2015. I know that's not a crazy long ago, but even back then, things were just a little bit easier, you know what I mean?
Matt
Yeah. It's so scary. I mean, I lived in downtown la. It was one the same spot, not the Watermark, just kind of literally like two blocks over.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
And when that happened, it's almost kind of like the whole downtown LA area knew about it. And, you know, things get around. Someone takes a picture, they post it somewhere. Not on Instagram, but it was kind of like. I forgot it was like an article or something like.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, yeah.
Matt
I had friends that lived at the Watermark. Not just. Not just yourself, but I had other friends that lived there. And they. They would tell me about it and it's just so sad. I remember that. That was scary. That was like the first time we ever lived in downtown.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
And to witness something like that was like, who we are in a different world.
Josh Leyva
Different world. And you know what's fun? I just remember this, this. This part of the story too. Do you remember the YouTuber named Swoozy?
Matt
Yes.
Josh Leyva
So he lived.
Matt
He lived there too.
Josh Leyva
He lived there. And that day I was filming a video with him and I'm like, bro, do you see what's going on right now? And he goes, no, but I got a call telling me, like, not to leave my room or something like that. He got. He got word of it and then I'm like, dude, this is what happened. And he could. Did not believe me. He was like, there's no way. And I'm like, bro, I. I swear to you. And he, like, came and like, I remember we couldn't really like film. I don't even think we ended up filming that day. We were just, like, talking about it, and then, like, that kind of, like, changes your perspective of life, you know what I mean? Like, it kind. We went into this deep conversation about, like, how precious life is, and you never know where people are at. And, like, you know, it gets.
Matt
You never know where people are at. You never know what people are going through.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
Addictions that they have.
Josh Leyva
Correct. Yeah.
Matt
Mental issues that they have. Psychological issues. It's really sad.
Josh Leyva
It's sad. It's sad. So, yeah, that. That was. So we ended up just talking. I think we were like, why don't we just, like, pin filming? We'll just, like, film another day. Yeah, I would too, but it was insane, bro.
Matt
And it's crazy for you because you are the balcony, the only balcony that's like that.
Josh Leyva
I don't think he had a balcony, so he couldn't really see what was happening.
Matt
Yours was right in your own.
Josh Leyva
Right there. I'm talking, like, it was like.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
20Ft away. 20ft away. Yeah. It's crazy.
Matt
So scary, man.
Josh Leyva
So scary.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
But it's so crazy because then I saw we. I started processing it with. With. With Andy, and I was like, it's so interesting how your mind was so quick to say, is that a prop body? Like, that's where your mind went. Didn't even think. His brain didn't even think that that is a real human. That that's real life. That was real life. He was like, oh. He said his brain went commercial. Prop body. There's no.
Matt
There's no way that's gonna happen.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, there's no way that they're like, oh, shoot, it's prop body. That's crazy. They're shooting, like, a whore thing. Nah, bro.
Matt
Real life.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. Sorry. I hope that wasn't so much of a downer of a story. Yours was not cooler. I mean, not even cooler, but that.
Matt
Is a. I felt like we're doing those episodes of, like, Forensic Science, like, the true crime stuff. Yeah, it's a great story, man. I mean, not really, but it's a story.
Josh Leyva
And look, I think we should end it with this, because I feel like this would be appropriate to do. I'm not trying to make this, like, episode dark, but if. If anybody out there is dealing with, like, serious, you know, serious things, and. Or. Or you're just. You're just in a dark place, or you feel like you need help, and you feel like you need to talk to somebody first. Of all, don't ever be afraid to reach out to people. People care about you. And I think we have this idea that, like, we're alone and stuff, and there's not. There's people around you who love you, who care about you, who think about.
Matt
You, who think about you constantly, who.
Josh Leyva
For you. And I just don't want people to, like, forget that you are. You are so loved, you are so valuable, you are so deserving of life. And I just. I hope people are. I just want the best for people, and I hope people are okay. And if, if you need help, I want to be able to provide, like, a hotline located below 100% just to, you know, be able to be some sort of resource.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
But we love you. If, if, you know. Regardless, we love you, but. Yeah, just for the people out there who.
Matt
And as, like, say it, as cliche as it sounds.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
Like, how does the saying go? It's always brighter on the other side of the tunnel.
Josh Leyva
Grass is greener on the other side.
Matt
That too.
Josh Leyva
Okay.
Matt
But, like, it's just brighter on the other side of the tunnel.
Josh Leyva
Way brighter.
Matt
It's the truth.
Josh Leyva
Oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah. Like, it gets better.
Matt
It gets better.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
It always gets better.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. There's a. There's a quote, too, that's like, if you're going through hell, keep going, keep going. Don't stop.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
You know what I mean? Like, keep pushing through.
Matt
Because in life, like, even, like, when things are bad, it. They only get better.
Josh Leyva
Correct.
Matt
That's literally, like, the, the scientific way of life.
Josh Leyva
Cycle of life.
Matt
It's like the cycle, like, things are bad. That only means that it gets better. That's it. It's that simple.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
It's gonna be hard, but it does get better.
Josh Leyva
It does.
Matt
And that goes with anybody.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
Whether you're going through something or not. But, yeah.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
Great story. Pcp.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
And our condolences to their families. Who knows who that was?
Josh Leyva
Yeah, I, I. Yeah, like I said, I never found out who they were. I, I don't have any ties to the person or anything like that, but it was. It definitely, like, shook my soul. And it. And it really. It broke my heart.
Matt
Me too. The first thing that I noticed when I moved into, I used to live in a building called 8th and Hope. Right by you.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
And we would go through the exit doors or the exit stairs and go all the way up.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
And go to the helicopter. Helicopter pads.
Josh Leyva
That was sick.
Matt
And there's nothing there. You can literally jump off Don't. But you can literally, like, there's no protection. There's no one up there, like, telling you not to.
Josh Leyva
Yeah, you can literally go up there.
Matt
And I was like, people just come up here. Yeah. Yeah. It's crazy, bro. And it's scary windy as up there.
Josh Leyva
No, it's dangerous.
Matt
Like, accidents can even happen, bro.
Josh Leyva
I'm pretty sure, because I used to shoot videos there. I would, like, because it's really cool. It's like a cool scenery, like. Yeah, the helipad.
Matt
Oh, really? Yeah, yeah.
Josh Leyva
Is yours. Was the one with the. The patio area, though.
Matt
I had a patio up there.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. So the other building was the one with the helipad.
Matt
I had a helipad.
Josh Leyva
Oh, you did? Oh, yeah.
Matt
It was like a patio and then, like, above.
Josh Leyva
Oh, you're right.
Matt
You're absolutely right.
Josh Leyva
Yes.
Matt
Helipad.
Josh Leyva
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
Matt
Yeah, I used to land my helicopter.
Josh Leyva
You. I remember that. Yeah, the blue one.
Matt
Remember I made you call me Richie Rich?
Josh Leyva
Yeah. I was like, richie Rich. I was like, dude, with the heli. What? The heli. I was like, what the hell, Yante? Remember I said we started that? Yeah.
Matt
Yeah. I was that rich. Never. Yeah, but I was like, dude, you.
Josh Leyva
Know how I know you were not that rich? Because you're saying that, but. Yeah, man. I don't know. Do we end up that.
Matt
Yeah, no, I think. I think. I think this is a good amount of time. I think it's about a good 45 minutes of. Of. Of nice storytelling that we just did. I think that was awesome. I think the girls are already ready. They're off the StairMaster. The gym's done.
Josh Leyva
Start your Mondays.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
Guys, have a beautiful Monday.
Matt
Yes.
Josh Leyva
Remember, life is beautiful. Life is precious. If. If. If you. If you're worried, if you're feeling stressed, if you're feeling any kind of fear, I want you guys to focus on gratitude. Focus on the little things in life. Focus on the gusts of wind in your face, the smile of a child. Focus on these little beautiful things that you might feel are not super important, but they are so meaningful and they make life so precious and worth it.
Matt
Yes. I love that you said that, Josh, because you're right. In life, sometimes we think we want these. These certain things.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
But when hits the fan and you really dial things down and you're actually talking to yourself in a mirror.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
You're begging to live a simple, grateful life.
Josh Leyva
Yep.
Matt
Where you only care about the small things in your life.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
You know?
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
And just have gratitude. Be blessed Be happy that you know you're alive.
Josh Leyva
You can see, you can feel, you.
Matt
Know you can breathe.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
You know, there's so much to life. Like going back, it's kind of cliche, but going back to the alpinist guy, he didn't care about what he drove, he didn't care where he lived. He was just so happy.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
That he's able to climb a crazy ass mountain.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
But you know, it just really, it just teaches you that there's just so much more but at the same time so much less to be happy for.
Josh Leyva
The. There's this guy, his name is Tony Robbins. I'm sure a lot of you maybe know of him. Yeah, yeah.
Matt
Super deep manly voice.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. He says, he said you can't be fearful and grateful at the same time. So if you are dealing with. And fear is the ultimate feeling of stress, anxiety, depression, it's fear, that's what it leads to, Right. So if he's saying like you're stressed out, people are saying I'm stressed. Like no, the main thing is you're fearing something. I'm stressed out because this might not work and then I might lose everything. So therefore it leads to fear.
Matt
Fear.
Josh Leyva
Isn't that kind of crazy?
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
So basically he was saying like when you are focused on gratitude and the little things, right. That fear, it's not there because you can't be fearful and grateful at the same time. So that's what I always say when I'm feeling stressed out, bro. And I just go to gratitude, I just go to appreciation. And like I said, bro, it's the little things, right? Like a smile from a stranger. The little things, bro, it's like so little. Like being able to like have the ability to like just laugh at yourself, right. Like just, I don't know, you'll find it in yourself.
Matt
And like, obviously we're not telling you to like reach for the stars and like go get the stuff that you've always wanted.
Josh Leyva
No, I'm not even talking about.
Matt
We're saying that, that, that's not gonna make you happy. No, it makes you really happy. Seeing that your mom's healthy.
Josh Leyva
Having the ability just to call your mom, say, hey mom, how are you? How are you doing?
Matt
Good.
Josh Leyva
That's amazing. I hope you have the best day ever.
Matt
Yeah. Having a place to lay your head at night, Correct?
Josh Leyva
Yeah, yeah, that's it.
Matt
Things like that, that's what makes you happy.
Josh Leyva
That's very true.
Matt
You know, anybody can tell you that. But yeah, we're ended. There also I want a question. We are planning to go to Texas for a live show.
Josh Leyva
Oh, my God. We've been waiting to say.
Matt
We just need to know. I posted on the stories as well.
Josh Leyva
We did a whole poll.
Matt
We just want to know, are we picking one or two spots?
Josh Leyva
I think we should pick because Texas.
Matt
Is kind of big pause.
Josh Leyva
You know what I'm saying?
Matt
So we got San Antonio. We're thinking about going to San Antonio. I've never been. That's why kind of I'm excited to go.
Josh Leyva
Me neither.
Matt
We're thinking about El Paso, we're thinking about Houston, and we're thinking about Dallas.
Josh Leyva
Yo, so if you're listening this deep into the pod and you're from Texas, drop it in the comments below because first of all, we know you're a real. One, if you tapped in this long. Two, if you're from Texas, we need to know where to go. And you.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leyva
And if you're going to comment, you better show up too, cuz we. Come on, man.
Matt
Also, one thing that I've been. Also one thing that I've been kind of like, I thought about it, like, we just went to Chicago s city and we're kind of like figuring it out, you know, like maybe tiktoking or googling what good place to have breakfast.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
Yo, you guys tell me where to go. Even if you got like, like, oh, your family owns a restaurant. We want to go.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
Yeah. Oh, you, your. Your family or, you know, somebody that has like a bar or like something. We want support.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
But more the restaurants.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
We want to eat your food. And that's it. That's all I gotta say for everybody who went to Chicago. We. We're not gonna read them because I feel like we were gonna read them, but I feel like that's privacy for us. Yeah, bro, thank you so much for the letters.
Josh Leyva
The gifts that everybody brought us. They're. They're so meaningful to both of us. And we cherish everything. We had one person make us, like these little collectible, like cards.
Matt
The baseball cards.
Josh Leyva
The baseball cards. I have a picture of us. It's the one that we've been using to promote the time. The. I want to say tour, but could be a tour. We're kind of like on a tour. Not tour.
Matt
It's hashtag tour, but not really.
Josh Leyva
Yeah. And I don't know what my point was. I just. I put it immediately on my desk and I'm like, I'm have this forever. Yeah, yeah. So anyways, just to say thank you to everybody who. We had cakes brought to us. We had cards and gifts in Jersey. Somebody made us a. We're gonna frame. Don't wear it. We're gonna frame it. I know you want to wear that jersey so bad. We got to frame it with that photo of us, bro. That'd be so sick. We gotta do it. We gotta do it.
Matt
So, yeah, Texas, we're coming for you.
Josh Leyva
Is that the next stop?
Matt
I don't know.
Josh Leyva
We do.
Matt
They will know soon, though.
Josh Leyva
We do.
Matt
We will know.
Josh Leyva
We have one place that's currently locked.
Matt
Isn't it crazy how, like, we're on tour, but we're on tour while trying to figure out. Yeah. If you guys don't know, obviously, like, you guys probably don't know, but can we tell? It's, like, a lot of work to, like, find venues.
Josh Leyva
Well, no, not only that, we were very, like. We didn't really know how the first live show was gonna go. So we went into it with, like, let's not schedule, like, guaranteed places. Let's just kind of go for it, and we'll just see where the wind takes us.
Matt
But I will tell you this. The people that are helping us find tours, they're helping us because they know that the fucking shows are popping.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
So they're like, yeah, these are the dates. Yeah. You know, like, this day is available, you know? And also that, too.
Josh Leyva
If you guys tell us where you want us to go, we can make it happen. Like, we can almost. That's why we have the ability to ask you guys, where do you guys want to go? Because we can make it happen.
Matt
Yeah. My thing that I'm, like, actually, like, I get super pumped about is, like, not just meeting you guys, but, like, wherever you guys live. Like, these cities, like San Antonio, like Houston, Dallas, Chicago, here, also in la, anywhere. I realized we have such sick theaters.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
And such sick venues. Like, I just want to be at a sick venue.
Josh Leyva
Sick venue.
Matt
Sick venue, bro.
Josh Leyva
Sick venue, bro.
Matt
But, yeah, Josh, have a great rest of your week.
Josh Leyva
Come on, baby.
Matt
Everybody back at home. Guys, if you went to the gym today, good job. Good for you. Keep it up. That's it.
Josh Leyva
Yeah.
Matt
For everybody wearing your makeup, you look beautiful. You don't even need makeup.
Josh Leyva
You don't need no makeup, girl.
Matt
But you look beautiful regardless.
Josh Leyva
Damn, you fine.
Matt
I'm just a teenage dirt bag, baby. Hey, are you. Are you up?

Introduction In this emotionally charged episode of LA PLATICA, hosts Josh Leyva and Matt delve deep into personal experiences, spiritual musings, and the chaos that life inevitably brings. Straying from their usual discussions on music, fashion, and culture, this episode takes a more introspective turn, exploring the complexities of mental health, personal crises, and the essence of being human.
Personal Stories and Surreal Experiences
Matt's Unsettling Encounter (00:00 - 18:26)
The episode kicks off with Matt sharing a bizarre and haunting experience from 2015. While living in the prestigious Watermark apartment complex in downtown Los Angeles, Matt witnessed what he describes as an "eight-foot-tall object made entirely of drums" appearing in his kitchen. This surreal figure seemed to exude a dark energy, leaving Matt shaken and questioning his perception of reality.
Matt (13:54): "I saw this eight-foot figure made out of drums. He looked mad, but he didn't have a face."
Josh (16:14): "Can I say something? That's kind of sick."
Josh's Life-Altering Moment (28:12 - 44:21)
Josh takes the floor to share a traumatic event he experienced a decade ago. In 2015, while residing at the Watermark, Josh witnessed a tragic incident where an unidentified individual entered the building and jumped from a high floor. The immediate aftermath, coupled with the swift response of the forensics team, left a lasting impact on Josh, forcing him to confront the fragility of life and the unpredictability of human behavior.
Josh (31:33): "If you are dealing with serious things, never be afraid to reach out to people. People care about you."
Matt (42:01): "It's the cycle of life. Things are bad, but they only mean they get better."
Exploring the Soul and Spirituality
The Nature of the Soul (19:06 - 24:27)
The conversation shifts to a philosophical exploration of the soul. Both hosts discuss their beliefs in a higher power and the concept of the soul inhabiting a single vessel. They ponder whether dreams are manifestations of the soul's journey through parallel universes or different dimensions of existence.
Matt (22:24): "I believe our soul is for one vessel, but it also has the ability to experience other lives through dreams."
Josh (21:19): "If you believe in God, then the idea of souls bouncing around is orchestrated by a higher power."
Past Lives and Memories (25:10 - 29:03)
Delving deeper, Josh and Matt speculate on the existence of past lives and how they might influence current fears and phobias. While acknowledging the lack of biblical references to parallel universes, they share personal anecdotes that fuel their beliefs in soul reincarnation and the interconnectedness of all beings.
Josh (27:58): "It's fun topics to think about that nobody ever likes even talking about, but everybody thinks about it."
Matt (25:47): "They say your fears come from past lives, but isn't that just a common phobia?"
Mental Health and Support
Emphasizing Gratitude and Seeking Help (42:44 - 48:55)
Towards the end of the episode, Josh brings the conversation to a critical point, addressing listeners who might be grappling with dark thoughts or mental health struggles. He underscores the importance of reaching out, cultivating gratitude, and focusing on the small, meaningful aspects of life to combat fear and stress.
Josh (43:07): "If you're dealing with something serious, don't ever be afraid to reach out to people. You are so loved and deserving of life."
Matt (43:59): "It gets better. It always gets better."

They express enthusiasm about connecting with their audience in new cities like San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, and El Paso, encouraging fans to suggest venues and participate actively in their journey.
Josh (49:08): "If you're from Texas, drop it in the comments below because we need to know where to go."
Matt (51:13): "We want to eat your food. That's all we gotta say for everybody who went to Chicago."
