Josh
You what's going on, everybody. Welcome back to La Platica, the number one Latino podcast in the world. But I can promise you one thing. If those words have ever come out of my. My mouth, the answer is no. Google on the Internet. That's what they saying. That's what they saying.
Jiggy
Google said it.
Josh
That's what they say, bro.
Jiggy
Google said it. You can actually go, like, I actually recommend you. You guys think this is like an inside joke?
Josh
Yeah, it used to be. Look, go ahead, just put it.
Jiggy
You literally go on Google. Just going to do it. Right now, number one Latino podcast in the world, right? What's the first thing that pops up? Oh, my God. I've never seen that.
Josh
Actually.
Jiggy
I actually says it too.
Josh
Yeah.
Jiggy
Number one Latino podcast in the world according to a. Allen Iverson.
Josh
Was that your first time Googling it?
Jiggy
Okay, so every time I Google it, it just pops up like, La Platica. And then you can click on our links.
Josh
Oh, you haven't seen the AI.
Jiggy
I haven't seen the AI Overview. That's so crazy. What does it say? While it's difficult to definitely definitively name the number one Latino podcast globally, La Platica, hosted by Savas and Josh, is often cited as a popular and influential podcast with the Latino community, even claiming to be the number one Latino podcast in the world.
Josh
First of all, difficult for who? Difficult for you, not difficult for me. I could say it all day, but I don't.
Jiggy
That's crazy.
Josh
Speaking of being number one, our friends over at SeatGeek, the number one ready ticketing app on the App Store, got you for all your ticketing needs.
Jiggy
Thank you, seatgeek.
Josh

Man, I appreciate that. Subscribe to the channel. Subscribe to the guys. Subscribe to us. Subscribe to Sasson. We have good content coming out, right? I mean, it's pretty good if it's on Google. I mean, who do we have here today, Josh? We.
Josh
We have a. We have a superstar in the making. She's already a superstar.
Jiggy
It's kind of crazy.
Josh
And honestly, she is currently the youngest guest that we have ever had on La Platica. It's for a reason.
Jiggy
All right?
Josh
This girl right here is. Is doing some crazy things right now. She's 16 years old. She plays for the Mexico national team. One of the youngest members for the Mexico national team basketball. She's a true baller. She has played with the Mamba Association. I'm going to clarify if this is association or an actual just team. She was coached by the great legend Kobe Bryant. Please help me welcome Issa, AKA Jiggy. Jiggy in the building, baby.
Sevas
Thank you guys for allowing me to come.
Jiggy
Dude, thank you so much for being here right now. When he was talking about you, I'm like, damn. Real Talk Legend in the making. And we were so privileged to have you here, honestly.
Josh
Yeah.
Jiggy
Wow. Amazing.
Josh
So Just so we, like, clarify everything we found out about Isa through Instagram, she actually shot us a DM to sell us. And I. And basically just. Just, you know, saying, like, she's a. A supporter of the show. And that's kind of when I became aware of her. And I kind of started exploring, like, your socials and stuff. And then I was like, what? Wait a minute. This girl is, like, special. Like, you are crushing it.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Josh
And just seeing, like, all your posts of, like, just your basketball activities and being coached by Kobe, and then you messaged me back, and I was like, hey, we got to get you on the pod one of these days. And you said, I would love to come on the podcast because I want to talk about what it was like to be coached by Kobe Bryant and then talk about my experience of being on the Mexico national team, which I was telling Sevas, nobody has ever pitched us, like, to coming on the show. And that was so, like. I was like, this is very telling of her character and how you carry yourself and why I think you're so successful. That's my point. That's my little spiel.
Sevas
Thank you so much. I appreciate it.
Josh
Yeah, thank you.
Sevas
And I love your guys podcast, Aubby.
Jiggy
Thank you. We appreciate that. Isn't she so, like, composed, like, so?
Josh
Well, I was not this composed at 16.
Jiggy
Me neither.
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
Wait, so what were you guys at 16? Like, whatever.
Josh
You are the exact opposite.
Jiggy
The exact opposite. Like, like, mom, give me some money for Taco Bell type. Sorry, I. I should have cussed.
Josh
Can't cuss, bro.
Jiggy
I can't cuss.
Josh
You can't cuss?
Jiggy
I need to, like, knock us.
Josh
Yeah, you gotta keep it.
Sevas
No, at this age, I think, like, 12 years old, I already had, like, money from my bank account already. So, like, a lot of people at, like, that age, like, oh, mom, like, I need money for this and stuff like that. I'm like, oh, I got my money. Like, if I want to get something like this, or new headphones, new clothes for basketball, I got it.
Josh
She's like, you see this Louis purse? All me, baby.
Sevas
Actually. Actually, this is what my grandmother gave me for my quince.
Jiggy
How cool. Did you have, like, a big old quince, like, we see? So, like, a traditional one or.
Sevas
I didn't have it. I really wanted one, but I sacrificed my GSET to go be a part of the Mexico national team.
Josh
Wow. So you were already playing for Mexico at 15?
Sevas
Younger, actually.
Josh
Oh, shoot.
Sevas
So how it started was. I think I was, like, four. No, I think I was like, 13. Turning 14. My first time of training camp, I got invited and it was like a culture shock for me. Like my first time, like playing for a national team. And a lot of people don't get to say that. They don't get to say that I'm playing for a country or I'm representing my country across my chest. And you know, it comes in a shock to you because you're like the youngest one out there. You're like all these other girls are three years older than you and then you're experiencing like what, like other national teams go through, like the training wise. Like, when I got there, I thought we were going to do like two hours of training and that's it. No, it's like three hours, twice a day, every single day. And you're fighting for a position to be on the team. Like every day. It's a battle every day.
Jiggy
Wow. And I'm sure there's things that you do before practice and then even after practice. Bro, this like some straight athlete stuff. You know what I mean?
Josh
She's a pro athlete.
Jiggy
Notice. Notice how I said stuff instead of S H I t. I'm getting there.
Sevas
Well, no, as well. Like the first time I was there to experience it, everything like that. So most of the time I was like on the Mexico team. Like, this is my first year. I get to play for my age group.
Josh
Oh, wow.
Sevas
I get to play with like girls my age, like all the time. When I was on the Mexico national team, I was playing up like, damn. Last summer I was a part of the. Was training with the U18 team and I was 15, going to turn 16.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Sevas
So I've always played up.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Sevas
And like going for like, a lot of people don't know. You make a lot of sacrifices to be a part of the national team or anything in like sports. For me, I had to make sacrifices. Being away from family and risking. Not risking, but like sacrificing like birthdays away from my family. But, you know, it was all worth it to like be a part of the Mexico national team. It's been my goal since I was nine years old.
Jiggy
Dang.
Josh
I want to back up because I want to know like, literally from the start, like, how did you get into basketball? Like, what was. I knew you when you were younger. From what I. What I gathered, you started when you were in your fifth grade. You were playing as like eighth graders already. You've always kind of been playing up. Right. So when did you figure out, like, this is your calling, this is what you wanted to do you. All of this sacrifice was going to be worth it for you. Like, talk to me about, like the, the beginning.
Sevas
Okay, so how it happened was this dude right over here, uh. Oh, my brother.
Josh
You're in trouble, mister.
Sevas
No, no, no. My brother, I've always seen him, like, he was a basketball player. He played basketball. And as I grew up, I went to tournaments, I went to his basketball practices. I grew around the basketball community. And I just wanted to do, you know, every other little sibling, they want to do whatever their older sibling does. And I asked him, and this is a legit story. I'm not even over exaggerating. I asked him, hey, can you like, help me with basketball? Like, at the time he was. He like, put basketball down. Like, he left it. And I asked him, like, hey, can you help me? Like, I want to start playing basketball? And he's like, no, you're not ready for this. Straight up, you're not ready for this. Like, you're not. You don't know what goes in. In basketball or any sport. And nobody does. Like, you don't know. Like, I don't. I didn't realize until I got older that there's so many ups and downs. And that's what he told me. Like, you're going to go through some laughter, you're going to go through some tears, you're going to go through some blood, you're going to go through. You're going to go through everything. And I, like, 8 years old, I'm like, okay, I'm like, I'm ready for it. But, like, I didn't. I didn't know what he was trying to prepare me for, but I didn't think he as well knew how strong I was.
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
And no matter. And I think he's really realized that, like, I'm a really strong kid. And I think that's like what I appreciate my brother for is that he's made me super strong, like, as well. Like, I grew up playing. I grew up playing with, like, older people as well. It didn't matter, like, workouts, practices, but I grew up playing with a lot of the boys to, like, toughen me up. And this is a crazy story. I've never got to say, like, I've never got to say this, but, like, there's this one time I was working out, I was in a workout with these guys, right? And two things happened that. That night I was guarding one of them, and they're older, right? And they push me. Like, they bump. They bumped me really hard that I Flew. I flew to the ground. I like, hit my back and then I couldn't breathe. And then the guy's like, get up, get up. Right away I got up. And then to end the workout, you had to do wall sits.
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
And they were like, whoever lasts the longest is going to the league. All the boys, I'm telling you, all the boys, gradually, one by one, was like falling drop. And I was in tears, but I was not giving up. I was not giving up. And I just think that just showed my character to my brother.
Josh
Yeah. Yeah. That was like a moment you were there to really, like, prove your strength and like, you were built different, to say the least.
Sevas
Yeah.
Josh
Wow.
Jiggy
And obviously, like, being young too, and then being with like the guys. We all know basketball is trash talking, shooting the stuff with each other.
Sevas
And that's what I want to bring up. There was this. I was playing up. If I was gonna play, like when I was younger, if I was gonna play with girls, I was gonna play with up until I got to high school, I was gonna obviously start playing with my own age group.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Sevas
I was playing with these eighth grade girls around like fourth, fifth grade. And we were scrimmaging. It was like a local club team around, like where I live.
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
And we were scrimmaging and I got an and one on one of the girls. And because I play with boys, I saw the way they, like, were so passionate about the game and the way.
Josh
You were used to that kind of aggression.
Sevas
I was used to grittiness like that. Playing with boys gave me a chip on my shoulder and like, gave me this grittiness, like this toughness. So, like, whenever I stepped on the floor, you knew I was different from the others. Because the way I, like, grew up playing with the boys, I'm getting fired up, man.
Jiggy
So anyways, anyways, I want to, like, guard somebody right now. Like, bro, where's the basketball?
Sevas
Okay. Anyways, I like, I was like this to the girl. Like, I flexed on her and I was like, yeah. And then the coach, like pulled me aside and he's like, we don't do that here.
Josh
What?
Sevas
And I'm like, look. And the thing was, my brother wasn't there. My mom brought me to my practice, and let me tell you, my brother never misses a workout, never misses a practice. He is always there, never misses a game. He is literally always there, like everywhere. Like they call literally my brother Eddie and my brother Marco, my bodyguards. Cuz they're literally there every single day.
Jiggy
I love that. That's.
Sevas
And Then I. I was like, what are you talking about? He's like, you don't do that. We don't. We don't scream people's faces. We don't do that here. And I. I remember right away, I told my brother, he's like, you're not going back there. You're never going back there. And it would just showed, like, I was different than other girls.
Josh
Yeah. Yeah.
Sevas
And it just showed like, I'm a different player. I'm a different, like, person.
Josh
And I think he realized that you need to be with an organization or, like, a team who's going to accept you and see the greatness in you versus try to, like, suppress you.
Sevas
Yeah.
Josh
You know what I mean? Because you were just showing passion there.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Josh
For somebody who to not see that and want to, like, bring you down, that. That's. That's crazy to me.
Jiggy
And it's crazy because people who do make it in the positions that you're at, people who are great, people who are in the league right now, they have similar people, like your brother and your family around them.
Josh
Yeah.
Jiggy
Because your brother can be like, oh, it's okay. You know, whatever.
Josh
Yeah, yeah.
Jiggy
Or it could have been like, oh, you know, and then not even care about it. But, like, when you have people like your brother and, like, your family around you that says, oh, you're not coming back here, or they go to every single game and they see the vision from day one, that's when, like, greatness happens. And that's why you. You're at. Obviously, you're. You're there because of your talent, who you are. Because obviously, he can say that to anybody else, too. But, like, how is that other person gonna take it? Obviously, it's a perfect match right now, right?
Sevas
Yeah.
Jiggy
So it's crazy. And, like, you saying, like, I'm different. I'm, like, I was seeing some of your videos, like. Like, you, like. Like dribbling the ball, like, attacking the rim. I'm like, whoa, I can see the fire in your eyes. Like, I want everybody to stop and go to her Instagram right now, which is in the link down in the description box. Go and just watch her play. There's this face that you have, and it's. It's not scary, but it's so intense. You know what I mean?
Josh
Passion.
Jiggy
And it's just pure. Like, it's crazy.
Josh
I. I felt like I didn't really discover my passion in, like, life until I was, like, 2021. So I think it's so cool that you are like this young and you found something that you're like completely in love with and really, really good at and really passionate about that like, I'm just so excited, like where you go from here? It's just really cool to like witness it. So thank you for coming into our games and tell us.
Jiggy
I'm excited for them tickets.
Josh
Okay, so you're. Okay, so then where do you go from there? This is high school we're talking about, right? We're timeline. Are we in high school right here? No.
Sevas
So this was like around fifth grade.
Jiggy
And then fifth grade, bro.
Sevas
That was leading up to like six fifth. So like still fifth grade. Leading up to my sixth grade year, I. I think I messaged Phil Handy. So this is the start of like how I got on.
Jiggy
Yeah, that was my next question.
Josh
You messaged him?
Sevas
So I got with Phil Handy because Phil was coaching for. He was like in the staff for the Raptors at the time. And then he just got into LA and he said like, come for a workout. And I'm like, okay, it's gonna be a regular workout. First thing, it's at the Lakers facility.
Josh
Oh, shoot.
Sevas
I'm like in El Segundo, I think. No, no. Somewhere. Is it? Yeah, I think it is.
Josh
He kind of already knew about you. Was able to kind of figure out like your status and stuff like that. Cause not just anybody gets invited to do something like that.
Sevas
Especially like going to the Lakers.
Josh
That's what I'm saying. Like that's a, that's a big deal already.
Sevas
Okay, first I think I'm gonna have like a solo workout. Just like a one on one workout. Junior Smith is there, JR Smith is there. And I'm like, okay, he's probably gonna work out before me and then I'm gonna probably work out. First time you see J.R. smith, he's like, yes, wow. And then he's like, get your shoes on, Jake. And I'm like, what are you talking about? Like J.R. smith is gonna work out. And at this time I'm like 11, 12 years old. Like, how am I going to work out with NBA player right now? And I can't even fathom that.
Jiggy
Like your age with J. Smith, El Segundo. I think it's like South Bay El. Like, I can't even fathom that. Well, anyways, I didn't, I didn't even know how to talk yet. At 10, 10, 11 years old.
Josh
You were on some Goo Gaga.
Jiggy
Yeah, I was like, Y Crunch Supreme Mummy.
Sevas
He's like getting the workout and that's like when the maturity comes in because you can't slow down the workout. Yeah, this NBA player is probably knows who you are because they're not just gonna let a kid, of course. So you have to pay attention. You can't slow down the workout because they're trying to get their a good workout in. I ended up having a good workout. I posted a video of me working out with him. I think that week or a week later I was at cryotherapy and Phil Handy was just like messaging me. He's like, oh, like what year are you? What school do you go to? Like what team are you playing on for right now? I'm like, damn, where are these questions coming from? He calls me and I'm sitting down. He's like, where are you right now? I'm like, oh, I'm like doing this, blah blah blah. And he's like, okay, Kobe Bryant wants you on his team.
Josh

Jiggy
What?
Sevas
And this is literally me.
Jiggy
I'm like, who are you, bro? That's crazy.
Sevas
My brother's like beside me and he's like. He's like right next to me. He's like. He grabs the phone. He's like, phil, what did you tell her? Because she's like in awe right now. And then slowly he's like.
Jiggy
Somebody else grabs the phone. What did you tell these two kids? They're both in all now. Wow.
Josh
Wow, wow, wow. So you. That's when you got your first call to play under Kobe's team, right? So is Mamba. Can you explain to me exactly what Mamba is and what that means? What it means to like play for Kobe's team?
Sevas
A lot of people think it's sports Academy, like the Mamba.
Josh
Yeah, that's what I thought it was originally.
Sevas
It's just. He made his own team, just team Mamba. So it was mostly for just his 8th grade team with which was his daughter playing, like for the 8th grade team as well. So all these girls grew up together. Most of those girls, like are at D1 colleges now and everything. But a lot of people get mixed up is like, oh, she wasn't really playing for the eighth grade team and blah, blah, blah. I was supposed to have my own sixth grade team. So that weekend he passed away. He let my brother, like, he let me and my brother know, like, we're gonna start playing. So make sure she's ready. So I was going to. So this is how it happened. I got invited to a practice and they. They practice pretty, pretty far. And my first practice was a little rough because I like was starting to get used to everything because they were literally running the Lakers offense of plays.
Josh
Wow.
Sevas
At so your knowledge at sixth grade, you're like, oh my God, this is intense. But all these eighth grade girls, obviously they're older than me and they're like, they're understanding it, they're getting it quick. And I'm like, what is going on?
Josh
But they're running the Lakers. That's insane. That's insane.
Sevas
And then like one of like the drills we did was like, pat, like, you have to play without the like the ball dribbling. You only have one dribble and I was like, how am I doing this? Like, I was like in shambles. And then I think a month later, I got another call to come to the second practice. And that's official. Like, officialated it. And he handed me my. My jersey.
Josh
Wow. Kobe did?
Sevas
Yeah.
Josh
That's insane.
Jiggy
What a moment. Yeah.
Josh
When you. When you were at those, like, workouts and stuff like that, you were being coached by Kobe. Was he. Was he like, in it?
Sevas
He was there. He was. It was so our sixth grade team wasn't set yet, so I was practicing with the 8th grade team so I could understand what we would run for my team and as well just practicing and getting better. And I just remember those practice so vividly. Like, and when those, like, people, those NBA players or teammates say, like, Kobe tests you.
Josh
Yeah, he.
Sevas
Those are all true. Let me tell you. That is all true. Like, he tests you in, like, the littlest things. Like, like I told you, the practices from where I live were like three hours away.
Josh
Wow.
Sevas
He told me and my brother, I want you and her to come every single day we practice at this time, blah, blah, make sure she's here on time and stuff like that. So we didn't know how we were gonna do it, but we were just gonna go right from school straight to practice, get everything done. And then at the end of the week, he's like, oh, you guys can come three times a week.
Josh
Wow. He just want to see how far you were willing to go.
Sevas
He wanted to see how committed you were.
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
And that's as well. What Phil Handy as well mentioned to us is like, he. He tests you. Like, he wants to see, like, what kind of player you are.
Josh
Wow.
Sevas
Yeah.
Josh
What was the biggest takeaway that you got from that experience working with specifically Kobe?
Sevas
There's two things. There's one that it happened the first day at practice and he was telling me, brick by brick, brick by brick jig. Which means, like, you're not going to build your house in one day.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Sevas
It's going to take one brick, another brick, day by day. And he always said that to me no matter what. If I got frustrated at practice and I was so stressed I couldn't understand something or like, I didn't get something right away. He was like, brick by brick jig. And I was like. And then another thing, he, like, he as well mentioned to me, like, these two things I always live by and always tell people. Like, he always told me these things. One day I was shooting and I asked him, like, oh, like, like, what's like, the Key for shooting, like, how many shots should I, like, take or like, shoot? And he's like, shoot to your arms fall off.
Jiggy
Damn.
Josh
Such a Kobe answer.
Sevas
I'm like, are you kidding me? He's like, shoot, your arms fall off. And I'm like, so every time I'm in the gym, just hear that, like, yeah, hear that voice in your head should tear your arms fall off. Shoot to your arms fall off.
Jiggy
And like, even if it wasn't like, necessarily exactly what he was trying to say, it's like you think about those moments and like, shoot till your arms fall out. It's just like, basically like, I'm gonna do it until I get it right. You know what I mean?
Josh
Yeah. Did you get a workout with Gigi as well?
Sevas
I didn't really get to work out Gigi. I obviously practiced with her and I got to know her. Sweetest human being, Sweetest girl. Oh, my God. I think she's the first one that welcomed me really to the team.
Josh
Wow.
Sevas
I did a tick tock with her. But no, she's like the sweetest, sweetest human beings. Sweetest like girl. And like such a good teammate too.
Jiggy
You going into that team and then you seeing girls who are basically just like you, who made it have. Who have made it that far to being with the Mambas, like, was that something very inspiring for you? Were you scared? Were you like, very kind of like. Or was it like this was like a finally moment? Did you feel like this is the position you needed to be in, I think to get better?
Sevas
Yeah. I think that everything happens for a reason. And I think God placed me there for a reason before they left and to get as much knowledge as I needed and as well, like, just, I don't know, just letting me know that, like, you are on the right track and as well, somebody like Kobe Bryant is telling you, like, and wants you out of his team.
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
Just shows how special you are and how much you are going to start changing the game.
Jiggy
Damn. So unfortunately, they. They pass away, you continue to play for the Mambas or how did that work out? How did that organization work out for you? And then, like, did that kind of catapult you into being offered to play with the Mexican national team?
Sevas
So what happened was after they passed away, they decided to just, like, let it go in respect for Gigi and Kobe.
Josh
Oh.
Sevas
So after that, I started playing back with the boys again. And then that a couple, like, I think a year or two later, I started going to the Mexico national team.
Josh
Did you, like, Try out for that. Like, how did that even come about? Like, did you. Did you get a call as well?
Sevas
Like, yes. So the Mexico national team were already, like, looking for, like, looking at me and stuff like that. They were waiting for, like, the age for me to, like, be able to go. And once I was able to go, I just right away went. And honestly, like, you create so many memories, you know, Like, I have so many stories, like, so many funny stories, so many wild stories of being in Mexico. But the most, like, thing that I take away is, like, when we would play. So my first time, like, actually playing, but I was, like, playing to, like, observe. So I know how to run the team for when my time comes.
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
And it doesn't matter if you win or lose. You have, like. So we were, we were hosting the games for fiba and it didn't matter if you, like, won or lost. You have a crowd of people from Mexico waiting for. Waiting for you and congratulating you.
Josh
Wow.
Sevas
You just have so much support. And that's why I come back every summer.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Sevas
And that's why I'll sacrifice my birthdays from my family, is to see those girls come up to me and say, like, oh, my God, I aspire to be like you on the Mexico national team. And that's what I've always wanted.
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
I know there's girls out there that are probably that or nine years old, like me, wishing that they could be in my spot. And I'm not going to take that for granted.
Jiggy
That's winning right there.
Josh
Exactly that feeling.
Jiggy
Yeah. And that might. Huh. For her to know that, like, I'm cool with that. That's my win. Obviously. You know, we want to win games too. I know you do. I get it. Like, that's so cool that you even think that way.
Josh
Yeah. That you can have that perspective as well.
Sevas
And then you create, like, sisters.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Sevas
These girls that obviously they were older than me, but, like, I looked at them like older sisters.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Sevas
All my music taste, all of my. The way I dress, the way I put my hair flag is because of those girls.
Jiggy
No way.
Sevas
All those girls, like, have, like, made me who I am as well. Like, toughness. The way, like, I, like, present myself is because of those girls.
Josh
Yeah.
Jiggy
And obviously, like, her maturity, too. Like, anybody that you ever talk to who's, like, very immature, well postured, or, like, polished, as they say, is because they've always, like, ran with, like, the big dogs, you know, and they've learned from that.
Josh
Played up. Yeah.
Jiggy
And then, like, it's it's so cool. We obviously have so many more questions for you. Let's go on a quick break. It's time for a commercial break. What a great story so far, ladies and gentlemen. I mean, jiggy, jiggy. We'll be right back, guys. Have you guys been curious about Ozempic or WeGovy, but you can't really get your hands on it? Because I really do hear that it's really hard to get on that. Get that kind of stuff.
Josh
Yeah, yeah. It's exactly how roe comes into Play, guys. Through ROE, you can access prescription compounded GLP1s with the same weight loss ingredients as branded name GLP1s at a fraction of a cost.
Jiggy
RO has compounded GLP1s in stock. Now you can get it in one through four days, quick. If you qualify, you can see if.
Josh
You qualify literally from the comfort of your own home. What am I talking about? I mean, this means no scheduling doctor's appointments, okay? No commute to your doctor's office and no waiting rooms. This is my favorite part. I'm not a big waiting room guy.
Jiggy
I'm not a big driving guy.
Josh
Damn.
Jiggy
All you have to do is go to Rotica.
Josh
Memberships start at 99 for your first month. Medication costs are separate.
Jiggy
That's Ro Colatica.
Josh
Go to RO Safety for black box warnings and full safety information. Compounded medications is not required to and does not receive FDA review or approval. RX only.
Jiggy
Hi, guys. We are back. Obviously, as you can see, we have Jiggy and now we have our brother Marco. Marco, welcome to the show, man.
Marco
It's nice to be here.
Jiggy
Bro.
Josh
Bro. Just hearing Jiggy talk, man. You're a huge part of her success, and she really attributes a lot of, like, what she's accomplished to you, man. Like, how does it. How does that feel?
Marco
Nah, man, I appreciate that, but I. I think I've always been the type to never want to take credit because I just seen her work so hard. And, like, parents can tell kids anything, right? Like, older siblings could tell any kid. Like, oh, like, you should do this. You should do well in school. Like, you should stay in school. Like, it doesn't mean that they're gonna stay in school or do well in school. Yeah, yeah, but, like, she's taking it extra, like, where if I tell her to. Like, if I tell her to run across this wall just because she's gonna make it to the league, like, she will. She would do that. And, you know, one. Like, one day I'll tell her, you need to wake up at Five in the morning, you're not doing enough. She'll wake up at four in the morning, and then I'm the one not doing enough because I can't wake up at five in the morning.
Jiggy
Right.
Josh
She's knocking on your door.
Marco
Yeah, you up. Exactly. And that's how she's been so strict with her schedule. Like, I'm like, man, you got to get stronger. Like, you're small, so we can't. We can't do this or that. So, like, and she'll do it. She'll lift. She'll. She'll do her hoop in the morning. She'll. She'll run extra miles. Like, she'll do all the extra stuff. Wow, bro.
Josh
I just listening to you talk and just seeing, like, how you saw that she had something in there. So you're willing to put in that work for her, but it also. She showed up to work.
Marco
Exactly.
Josh
Right. I remember. So my brother and I, we're nine years apart. He's. He's younger than me and he's bigger than me. He's six, four, like 2:50. He was in high school. And I grew up, like, playing football and stuff. And I remember he wanted to fall into, like, my steps and play football as well because he saw his older brother doing it and stuff. And I remember I got so fired up, I was like, my brother wants to play. I want to be able to help him and coach him and stuff like that. And I remember I took him to the park one time to run drills, and I had this man cross crying. He was so miserable that I was like, yelling at him and, like, getting in his face, like, you gotta, like, we gotta run through these fools. Gotta do. And I just knew. And this is no shade to him because he is one of the most remarkable humans who ever graced this earth. But I just knew at that moment, I'm like, he didn't have it, you know? And now that's okay. Now we talk about it. And it's just like, you. Because it's one thing to like, lead somebody, but they got to be willing to put in the work. That's part probably even more important than you leading her. Right. It's just her showing up.
Marco
Exactly.
Josh
So I think it's so cool that, like, that dynamic that you had that you had the perfect person to, like, really put your heart into.
Marco
Yeah. No, like, I mean, her and I just have an incredible story. Just on some, like, my. My father had cancer.
Josh
Yeah.
Marco
So they had told him, like, you're done having children, like, after Me.
Josh
Wow.
Marco
So she's really, like a miracle baby. Like, she shouldn't even be here. Like, they told him it's impossible for you to have kids, like, if you live through the cancer that you're going to go through. And so. Yeah, that's why her and I's age gap is so big.
Josh
Yeah.
Marco
Because she's literally not supposed to be here. Wow. So when she was born, like, and I remember just holding her, like, I just knew, like, I'm going to take care of this person with all my heart.
Sevas
Like, everybody, like, everywhere I go, like, practices, games are like, oh, is that your dad?
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
Because that's just how, like, of a father figure he is to me. Like, he's like my second dad because he takes care of, like, everything. He picks me up from school, he takes me to workouts, He. He buys me food. He just takes care of everything when my dad is at work.
Josh
You know what's crazy? It is, like, it is so obvious and evident that, like, you are truly somebody, like, special, and you have a lot amazing things coming for you. And like, sometimes, like, I. I contemplate, like, how. And I'm sure you probably deal with this, like, how much to really, like, tell her that because you want her to stay grounded and be like, yo, we can, like, you just gotta stay locked in. But I just feel like even no matter people tell you all this praise and stuff, you are on this mission. And no matter what anybody says, like, you're locked in. You said something earlier where you were, like, dealing with. And you kind of said in passing, correct me if I'm wrong, but you said that you were talking about being on the mama team and that you're like, they said that I didn't play with, like, the eighth graders or you didn't officially play with the team. I'm assuming you're talking about people criticizing you, like, online and stuff like that. And that kind of stood out to me because I was like, man, you are so young and you have so much going on, and yet you. We live in a world of, like, social media and all this ridicule that people get. Like, just feel the. The freedom that they could just tell you. How do you. How do you deal with that?
Sevas
I've dealt with the Internet and critics, like, criticism since, like, early age, since I was nine years old. And I know how to deal with it by not listening to it.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Sevas
I know what I'm worth. I know how hard I work. And nobody's gonna know how hard I work behind closed doors. And that's what I had to understand. Like when people are like, oh, you know, she's just like a Internet sensation. All she does is drill, drill, drill, drill, drill. Whatever you do, like to fire back. Like, let's say, like, oh, she can't play. Like, we haven't seen any game film from her. Post game film. There.
Jiggy
There's always something else.
Sevas
They'll say something else. Like, oh, look at the people she's playing.
Josh
Right.
Sevas
You play higher competition. Oh, where's more is more passing. All I see is scoring. Scoring score.
Josh
Yeah, yeah.
Sevas
No matter what, they're always going to say something. You're never gonna win and you're gonna win by not listening.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Sevas
And that's what I just always.
Josh
Yeah. And she's absolutely right. But at 16 years old, I would have never registered that. Like, it's just crazy how you're really able to like register that and get.
Jiggy
That something, you know, special.
Josh
Yeah.
Jiggy
To understand that.
Josh
Yeah.
Jiggy
Yeah, yeah. Wow. I. I look at both of you guys and like, even if you weren't a basketball player or not, I just think it's so beautiful, the relationship that you guys both. Like, that is something. And I know you already know this, but I think the most important thing like that I'm getting out of today is just a beautiful relationship that you guys. Is it. But just both of you, it's as siblings or do you have another sibling as well?
Marco
It's us. I mean, I like to count him as my sibling.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Marco
My brother, you know. Yeah.
Jiggy
And I just met him recently. Right.
Josh
Yeah.
Marco
He's filmed everything for her. Like, he's a big reason on why she is who she is.
Jiggy
Like, yeah.
Marco
If it wasn't him for capturing it, like, it wouldn't even be a thing.
Josh
How did that whole relationship come about?
Marco
I met him in college, so it was my first class and we had class together. And at the time she just started like maybe a weekend. And he had a camera and he was kind of like, you know, like, I think he had bought a nice camera. So he was trying to flaunt it around. He was carrying it everywhere. So I was like, hey, man, like, do you do like videography?
Josh
Do you know how to use that?
Marco
He's like, yeah, bro. Like, I charged like 10 bucks. And I was like, yeah. Oh, bet. Say less. Like, that's what I can afford right now. So then he came through and we just been like, really close ever since. He's trusted my vision for her and stuff like that. And. Yeah. So it's been like he drives us like she goes to Oakland every weekend now for her Nike team. So we'll go out there, we'll drive out there. He drives for us. Like. Yeah, he does a lot for her. Like the whole family. Yeah. So it's like really just us three. And then we have my two beautiful parents. Like they, we wouldn't even be here obviously without them. So it's like it's a real family thing.
Jiggy
And there's.
Marco
I'm just like very like hands on more than my parents. Cuz I trust myself more when it comes to like basketball and stuff like that.
Josh
Cuz I've been through, you know, the game.
Marco
Yeah, that's pretty much.
Jiggy
Well, I mean I feel like we can talk about basketball all day, but I think the people like back at home, like especially the ones that you probably brought so many people into the show that just want to hear your story. But I feel like they also want to know who you are. You know what I mean?
Josh
Outside of basketball.
Jiggy
Like. Yeah, like I want to know. Like you've been you. You're in Mexico, you know, all summer. I mean, what's a pre game? Like, like tacos that you'd be eating, you know what I mean? Like do you even eat that? What's your favorite? Like our fresca. You feel me? Like, like what is that?
Sevas
I got made fun of because. Okay, so you guys know Oxo?
Josh
Yeah, of course.
Sevas
Okay, so we would go there like I love Oxxo. Like I've never loved anything in Mexico. I'm like. But like the Mexico national team, we would always go there like for snacks, like after practice, before practice, for waters and everything. I got made fun of one time.
Jiggy
What'd you get?
Sevas
Maria's cookies.
Jiggy
Fire though. Just, just the plain ones. The regular ones? Yeah, the ones that come like in a little cylinder, right?
Sevas
They come like in a big orange.
Jiggy
Yeah, yeah, like orange.
Sevas
But I love those. And then I always get like a mango Arizona okay as well too.
Jiggy
They sell 99 cents at the loss. And Alexa, that's probably.
Marco
It's probably cheaper, bro. I love going to also because it's like you everything.
Josh
You know, you don't stop shops, you.
Jiggy
Know, you'll be on tick tock stuff and you're like 711 at in Japan. It's like the most ultimate thing. Which it is. Why doesn't anybody do tick tocks on Oxo, bro? Is there really? I haven't seen them and I'm like, bro, Oxo has, has everything. Oxo has everything.
Marco
Protein bars. I Ain't gonna lie, bro. Like, I. I always look for something healthy.
Josh
Me too.
Marco
Definitely nothing in there.
Josh
That's where they lack, bro.
Marco
Yeah, they need some. Something like that.
Jiggy
Also, I was gonna ask you too, like, when you got invited to the Mexico national team, like, do they have like. Obviously because, like, even soccer they have like sub DCCF, which is like sub 17. So it's like 17 or. Or younger. Did they put you in with like the older adults or is it. What age group was that when you went to the Mexico national team?
Sevas
I think it was. So the first time it was U15, I was 13. And then the second time it was U16. 16, I was 14.
Jiggy
Wow.
Sevas
And then the next time it was U18. 15. And now it's finally my age group.
Josh
Wow. Wow. And now from here, from like this age group, what's the like cap? Is there a cap or. It's just.
Marco
I think it's U18.
Sevas
U18. And then when you get older, it's like just a woman's actually now.
Josh
Yeah.
Jiggy
What's your goal for the Mexican national team in basketball? Like, what's your personal goal?
Sevas
My personal goal is to put Mexico on the map. But as well, like, short term goal. It starts this summer. I want to win central basket to qualify for the America and get mvp.
Josh
Whoa.
Marco
Wow. That's where she plays. Like Puerto Rico, I think Brazil, Colombia, like all like those countries and stuff.
Josh
Would this be in your age group?
Sevas
Yes.
Josh
Okay.
Sevas
Yeah.
Jiggy
Wow.
Sevas
The thing is, I leave this Sunday.
Jiggy
For training camp and where do you go? Can you say that? Yeah. Right?
Sevas
Yeah, you could say it. We like, so it just depends. Sometimes you like. I've traveled so much, like different parts of Mexico because of like playing for the Mexican.
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
Team. Because like, training camp is like, wherever training camp this time is going to be in Sonora.
Jiggy
Oh, cool. But not too far.
Marco
Yeah, no, we've never been there. So my brother's like, let's drive like he loves.
Jiggy
Oh, you guys gonna drive to Sonora?
Marco
Yeah, because we want to whip around. Like, we're not really. We don't really trust like the Ubers and stuff. Like, we've had bad experience.
Josh
Oh, I bet, bro. Just having like your own, like, vehicle. Exactly.
Marco
And like, even with her, like, the culture shock for her was like, bro, the first time she went, they have. They had no team buses, so stay all packed in this like, van. So she was in the trunk.
Josh
Typical Mexico City.
Marco
For real. Like, she was in the trunk and she's like, text me. She's like, they got Me in the trunk like this and that.
Josh
And you're like, what?
Marco
I'm like, at that time, I was just like, like, it is what it is. Like, it really is. Like, they don't have money. I told you that when we came out here. Like, don't expect the, like, them to have like, full platters for you guys and just stuff like that. So complete culture shock for her. Wow.
Josh
Wow.
Jiggy
What about now? You, like, I ain't going over there.
Sevas
Shotgun. No, to me, like, now it didn't really matter. But like, before, obviously I was like, you would think, like, this is a national team, right?
Josh
No, I get. I mean, that's fair. Yeah.
Sevas
Yeah. But then as, like, I grew older, I understand. Like, it doesn't matter, like, what they have. You still are representing, like I said, your country. Like, who gets to say that? Like, anytime I like, go to school and they're like, oh, my God, that's the girl from.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Sevas
National team. And I didn't realize how big that was. Like, anything I do, I don't realize how big it is.
Jiggy
Yeah, because it's something that's kind of out of reach, right?
Sevas
Yeah.
Josh
Wait, so you're still like, going to high school?
Sevas
Yeah, I'm a sophomore.
Josh
Oh, wow.
Sevas
Yeah.
Josh
So like, but you, you like, you're gonna like, you go to actual school. Like, you don't do like online classes or anything.
Sevas
So I go to an all girls school.
Josh
Okay.
Jiggy
Okay.
Sevas
All girls school, located in Woodland Hills and.
Jiggy
Oh, nice.
Sevas
Honestly, like, the adjustment to it was a little bit hard because it's. It's all girls school, private school, and you have way more classes. I think my freshman year I had five classes. This year I have seven. And it's just like a lot of more work and you're just trying to find the balance of basketball and then your studies. So that was a little bit rough in the beginning of the school year. But like my brother said, we were like, trying to figure it out and that's when we started waking up 4 or 5 in the morning. Work out before school, get school, and then do homework. If like some days, crowd therapy, go back home.
Josh
You like cryo, huh?
Sevas
Yes, I love it. Go the weight room, watch film, do more homework and go to sleep.
Marco
Wow.
Jiggy
Those are your days.
Josh
That's your whole life. Your whole life is basketball.
Sevas
Yeah.
Jiggy
You have a driver's license? You drive?
Sevas
No, not yet.
Jiggy
Who's driving you right now? You?
Marco
Nah, my dad. Right now I've been focused on my, like, clothing brand and stuff like that, so I used to Always be just like, whipping her around. But like, now it's like my pop. My mom. Mom really just been.
Jiggy
Wow. Why do I feel like in every one of her classes, she has her own cryotherapy in there.
Sevas
Chamber.
Jiggy
Yeah, her little chamber. Or like those floating devices where she's like this, like, in a thing. She's meditating.
Sevas
Nortech boots.
Josh
Oh, those are amazing. They are all the way up, right?
Jiggy
Yeah, yeah, all the way.
Sevas
When you. When you work out like me, you're going to be like, okay, I need.
Josh
Crowd therapy for sure. Yeah.
Marco
Even you, bro. Like, you, I know you did the marathon and stuff.
Jiggy
Yeah, I've been. I feel like I try to do a lot, but my recovery sucks. Even, like, my warm up sucks. Like, my wife always makes fun of me that I don't warm up properly. But I recently went to this place called Shout out to Muscle Lab. It's here. There's one in Studio City if you ever need anything, I got you. And it's like a recovery center. They do cryotherapy. They do, like, stretch therapy. I think I'm saying that wrong, but there's like a bunch of stuff, like, I'm talking like, MLB players go, like, everybody. UFC fighters, like, a bunch of people go. And they're really good physical therapists, right? Yeah, I think so.
Josh
Yeah.
Jiggy
But anything you ever need. This ain't even a plug for them, but, like, they're my boys, if you can eat anything. And they're close to Woodland Hills. But I just went and they did like a stretch thing on me and I'm like, I've never been stretched, like.
Josh
Oh, really?
Jiggy
Ever, bro? And like, it's just so important to do things like that, so. Especially you prevent injury. You know, things like that.
Marco
My mom did the LA marathon, so, like.
Jiggy
Oh, recently.
Marco
No, she did.
Jiggy
Oh, she's done it before.
Marco
She's like a Spartan trifecta.
Jiggy
Wow.
Marco
She's a beast, bro. That's where.
Jiggy
So you guys. Wow. Okay. I like that.
Marco
I've seen her, like, really dedicated, so I know, like, some of the stuff that you probably went through, just waking up super early, getting your miles in, getting all that. Yeah, she was dedicated. Like, I. Yeah, I know there's insane.
Jiggy
There's obviously. You guys know, there's a lot of dedication to doing things like that. Especially because I tell people. People tell me all the time, like, I was like, you can do the marathon, you can walk it if you need to. Doing it is doing it, but how do you want to do it exactly? You know? Yeah. But I was, like, waking up early, eating clean, blah, blah. You know, Josh has never experienced anything like that before.
Josh
I have no interest. Zero interest.
Marco
But you lift.
Josh
But I'm a competitor, bro. Like, I grew up playing sports. Like, my whole life is specifically running. I'm just like, I rather be in the gym.
Jiggy
Till this day. He still wears his varsity jacket to sleep. Till this day. He can't let it go. He can't let it go.
Josh
Hey, first semal American, baby.
Sevas
Me.
Josh
Don't try me, dog. Don't try me.
Jiggy
What's, like, you don't even know what that means.
Josh
What I just said right now went way over your head.
Jiggy
What you say first?
Josh
I knew it.
Jiggy
First team All American.
Josh
I have no idea, bro.
Jiggy
Yeah, first team All American. That's what your coach said that you can try to be.
Marco
Wait, did you play sports in high school?
Jiggy
No, I didn't. Okay.
Marco
So that's. That's exactly. Like, me and my brother. My brother didn't play sports, so I get on him all the time.
Josh
Yeah, he did it.
Marco
So, like, it's a different.
Josh
This is a new world for him. Yeah. Being an athlete. This is like, the last five years, he's like, I work out. I'm like, bro, I been doing this, man.
Jiggy
You know? Like, I feel like I've always been, like, an elite athlete.
Josh
No, you haven't. That's the thing.
Jiggy
My grades were. My grades were never elite, you know? That's something I regret, honestly, in life. I regret. Like, and this goes for everybody back at home watching, like, do good in school.
Josh
Yeah, I do.
Marco
Like, honestly, got a great story to tell on that one. Like, she'd have offers right now if she didn't have bad grades last. Last year. Freshman year went exactly how we planned for basketball. Didn't have the grades at all this year. She moved to a private school. Now she has a 3.8.
Josh
Wow.
Marco
Like, she really dedicated herself to, like, I'm getting my grades right.
Josh
What do you think the difference was?
Sevas
I think, balancing it out. Like, I feel like my freshman year, I was doing so much of basketball.
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
And not so much of school. My freshman year, I would work out, like, at 9 at night, and I would try to, like, do as much homework as I can. But, like, I'm like, oh, I'm gonna do it after I work out. It's like 11pm at that time, once you take a shower and everything like that. So that's why I wanted to change my schedule and not do that again and make sure I get all my Basketball stuff out of the way to make sure I have time for school.
Josh
Yeah. So the goal would be to play at a university level, right?
Sevas
Yes.
Josh
Okay, cool. So now that your grades are better, are you like potentially you're looking at schools, the school's looking at you like.
Sevas
So I'm going to tournaments and that's when scout like college scouts are going to be there.
Josh
Yeah.
Jiggy
She looking at me like, you don't know what scouts are?
Josh
You do know what that means.
Sevas
I saw her face.
Josh
Honestly. She did.
Jiggy
And I went, yeah.
Josh
Do you know?
Jiggy
She looked at me like this.
Josh
Scouts spell scouts.
Jiggy
X Sk.
Sevas
No.
Jiggy
He was like, I know what scouts are.
Josh
Is that.
Jiggy
I know what they are.
Josh
Is there a dream school?
Sevas
Honestly? There was. It was like usc, but honestly at this point it's whatever, like organization and school is best for me and fits for me.
Josh
Yeah, it makes sense. Yeah.
Sevas
Cuz obviously you guys know about the transfer portal.
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
I'm not looking at you.
Jiggy
But you are though.
Marco
Why you picking on me?
Jiggy
But I don't know what that is though. Transportation for portal. I don't, I'm sorry.
Sevas
So it's where athletes like.
Jiggy
I feel like she. I feel like this was planned before we started filming. I'mma g. I know he didn't go to college. I'm making stupid.
Sevas
It's where like people enter when they want to change schools but they don't want to. They don't want to sit. Cuz when you transfer schools you have to sit for amount of days. But he's not been looking at me.
Jiggy
I don't want to look at you.
Sevas
And you don't have to sit out. So the transfer portal has made it harder for kids to get recruited. Kids to get recruited.
Josh
So like what was the like method before was this like you were like white shirt, like. Well, basically you would transfer but then you'd have to sit like a year out.
Marco
I think you'd have to sit like a certain days or I don't really know how that worked, like maybe a year out. But now it's like you could transfer right away. So now like colleges are looking at junior colleges now because now for junior college, you know how you spent two years there? You get all four years now so you get full eligibility. So they'd rather not take a chance on a high school kid. They'd rather go to the juco kid.
Josh
Yeah, yeah.
Marco
More experience, more mature, like so it's just made it way harder for her to get recruited now because now you're going against like everybody.
Josh
Oh, the Two. Yeah. The people that have that two years experience that they can pull from immediately.
Marco
Or the ones that already played at a D1 and they want to transfer out and they don't have to sit out. So it's just like completely different.
Josh
Yeah. But wow.
Marco
Yeah.
Jiggy
Talk to me about this Nike team.
Sevas
Yes. So I think I started it when I was, I say 10 years old.
Jiggy
I got, I saw you did like a commercial with Nike.
Sevas
Yes.
Jiggy
That was dope.
Sevas
I did Nike, I've done G Raid, I've done Jordan.
Josh
Damn.
Sevas
That's it. Like, it's mostly when I was.
Jiggy
Hey, no wonder she was like, I can buy my own stuff.
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
Yes. She getting paid at that time I was getting paid and I, I had like a saving account. Like, I've never, like, have you ever heard like of a Coogan account? Who's an account.
Josh
I have a feeling it has to do with like your age and like being able to.
Sevas
So until you're 18. So they save this amount of money.
Josh
Yeah.
Sevas
So they, so they give you amount of money, but they split it and they save it into the Coogan account. And until you're 18, you get that money.
Josh
Do you get to decide how much or your parents do? Like, how does that work?
Sevas
I don't know.
Marco
She be spending okay now. She was. I mean, like, that's kind of where she's like, that's crazy. That's kind of like where she's like blessed too. Because not a lot of kids can learn like the, the like just money aspect.
Josh
Yeah.
Marco
Of life. And so for her, she's definitely like someone now that like appreciates money. But at 16, like to appreciate money is unheard of. Like, I, I appreciate $10, bro.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Marco
That was cool to me.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Marco
But for her, she's like very wise on how she spends it and stuff like that now. But she had to. You know how like people get money later on in their 20s and they're like, I'm about to buy this, I'm gonna buy that. She did that already when she was 12.
Josh
That's crazy.
Marco
So she, she kind of just already knows, like, it doesn't really like excite her as much. Yeah, she's just like, I'd rather save it a rainy day for like that. I need it. So she's blessed.
Sevas
And I'm. I don't know what he's talking about. As well, like, he spends as much as. As me.
Marco
No, she spends a lot of money.
Jiggy
So. So the Cougan account, when you're 18 now you can see the cougan money.
Sevas
Yeah.
Jiggy
Dang. Imagine when it's like, your 18th birthday.
Josh
What?
Jiggy
My cougan account. I got cougan money.
Josh
Oh, y'all forgot the password. Y better figure it out.
Jiggy
That's so funny, bro.
Josh
Wow.
Jiggy
Congratulations, honestly, on all your success.
Sevas
Thank you.
Jiggy
Honestly, it's. It's very inspiring for myself. And, like, it inspires me. Not only that, like. Like I said, like, basketball aside, like, it inspires me to be a better brother. It inspires me to. To. To. To tell my brother to be a better brother. My sisters, you know what I mean? Like, I see you guys and it's just such a beautiful thing.
Josh
It really is.
Jiggy
You guys should be very proud of yourself, because no matter what, no matter what happens in life, you guys got you and your mom and your dad and the homie Eddie, which is your brother. Like that already right there. And like you said, you're winning.
Sevas
Well, I want to tell one more story, please.
Jiggy
No, no, we're not leaving yet. Yeah, tell it.
Sevas
So there's a story about, like, this. Actually. She. Like this actually tells, like, the bond we have. So it's his first job. And this is when I started basketball. Like, I think. Yeah. The first year I started basketball, it's like the, like, first three weeks he got a job at Jamba Juice and Strawberry.
Josh
Wow, man. I love Strawberry.
Jiggy
Wow. Do you have any pictures when he was, like, dressed up like that?
Marco
Dude, I used to steal all the protein, bro. Take hella protein bags.
Sevas
But I would always go in there during his breaks, like, get a little. Little mini jambas. Anyways, his first check he didn't spend on himself. He went right to sporting goods store and got me all my first basketball gear.
Josh
Wow.
Sevas
And my first. In my first shoes.
Jiggy
That's so beautiful. I had to say that for it on that one. That's so nice. Marco. That's amazing, man. You're an amazing person.
Marco
I appreciate that.
Jiggy
That's crazy.
Josh
Like, and it's. It's crazy because it's not even coming from, like, a place of, like, self gain. Like, you really are doing this for her. And, like, just the. What you see and the potential of what she has, man, that it's true, genuine love. And I just admire that, bro.
Jiggy
That's.
Marco
I just. I mean, I looked at a lot of stuff that my mom did for me.
Josh
Yeah.
Marco
And I just replicated it, so I really just love it.
Josh
That's what I was looking for, bro. You're selfless.
Marco
I appreciate that.
Josh
Yeah.
Marco
I just owe it to my mom, my mom really kind of like instilled that in me to be like that. And my father, too, didn't have a father. Raised his three siblings, you know, changed the diapers. Whether they appreciate it or not, I appreciate the father that it made him to be. So, like, it allows me to be that type of father figure to her.
Josh
Do you have a girlfriend?
Marco
I do. She's a nurse. She's a. Oh, wow, that's cool.
Josh
I was about to set you up to the plateau nation, man, right here. But no, I respect.
Jiggy
Of course, of course.
Josh
I know. What was I thinking?
Jiggy
Yeah, that's cool, bro.
Josh
That's super cool. You mentioned you're focusing on your clothing brand.
Marco
Yes, actually, I brought you guys two hoodies that we just made.
Josh
That's why I brought it.
Jiggy
I was like, if you want to. Should we open it real quick so we can give them a shout out?
Marco
Please.
Josh
What's the brand called? Tell us, like, about the inspiration and stuff a bit.
Marco
It's called Reaper county, bro. And this, I'm wearing it right now. This is like.
Jiggy
I like that. Reaper County.
Marco
Yeah. This is the first piece we made is Ray.
Jiggy
Let's say Mexico.
Marco
Yeah. Rey Mysterio's tattoos are on. On.
Josh
No.
Marco
And then it's like the mask on the hood as well that zips up all the way.
Josh
Was there, like, specific?
Jiggy
I like that. When I was in high school, we used to rock those. They were the bape ones.
Marco
Exactly. That's kind of where the inspired inspiration came from. But this is the.
Jiggy
Wait, is mine the red one or the white ones?
Marco
The red. That's exactly how it was supposed to go.
Jiggy
Oh, this is hard, bro.
Marco
Me and my brother, we screen printed it ourselves. Oh, look, it.
Jiggy
It is a Ray Mysterio mask, bro.
Josh
This is so badass.
Jiggy
6 1.
Josh
Damn, bro. This is sick, man.
Jiggy
Both of you guys.
Marco
I was like, okay, I know he likes red. So I was like, all right. Yeah.
Josh
This is so sick, man. This is.
Jiggy
Oh, that one's hard too.
Josh
Don't look at it. Chill out.
Jiggy
Yeah, I'm gonna take it this weekend to Coachella.
Marco
Oh, please, bro.
Jiggy
You know, Well, I love it.
Josh
Thank you so much for the gifts, man. This is. This is so sick.
Jiggy
Yeah.
Josh
Do you have, like, a website?
Marco
Yeah, I mean, on Instagram, we're at Reaper County. It's actually, like a blessing, bro. We've been able to sell a lot of these. Like, they kind of went a little viral on Tick Tock.
Josh
Oh, no way.
Marco
Yeah.
Josh
Did you. Was it like a specific Tick Tock or.
Marco
Dude, I Just, I mean.
Josh
Oh, see, this sucks. I didn't. Okay, now I can see it all. That's dope. So I got the same print, right? It's the same.
Marco
Same exact print. Yours just has, like a red cross on it, like mine as well. And then. Yeah, it's pretty much.
Jiggy
It st. What was it?
Josh
The Tick Tock, though.
Marco
So the Tick Tock. Like, I've been kind of just. I mean, I've always experimented with her.
Josh
Yeah.
Marco
I'm the one that kind of like, had her get on Tick Tock and Instagram and it's been able to really, like, help me. Like, I even work with this NBA agent on working on her players as Tick Tocks and stuff or like Instagram or whatever.
Jiggy
Like.
Josh
Yeah.
Marco
So, like, it's opened up a whole new world for me of just like, I understand social media.
Josh
Creativity.
Marco
Yeah, creativity and all that and how to just market things. Like I understand it now. We. We even had like, a WNBA hoodie that went stupid viral. Sold 800 on the first drop.
Josh
Wow.
Marco
Just off marketing, bro. Like, just free marketing.
Josh
Yeah.
Marco
And that's so, like, I love fashion and marketing together. I just am able to really, like, do some crazy.
Jiggy
Good for you, man.
Josh
That's exciting.
Jiggy
Good for you.
Josh
That's really cool.
Jiggy
Real quick, before we leave, I want to know what your favorite basketball shoe is.
Sevas
Favorite basketball shoe. I'm going to say Avi. Kobe's. I love which Kobe's. That's what I was gonna say.
Josh
Can I guess? Actually, no. I love you. Go ahead.
Marco
No, no, Isn't.
Josh
This is the Grinch. No, those are my favorite Kobes.
Sevas
My favorite are, like the high tops. They literally look like wrestler shoes.
Jiggy
Yeah, I know. I've seen them. Yeah.
Marco
Yeah.
Jiggy
It's funny because when I was your age, they. I don't know if he. He would rock them a lot, but they were called the in Spanish. If you spell it out, it's called huarache. But they're like the huaraches.
Marco
Yeah.
Jiggy
And they took Inspo from that shoe. I don't know if that was his shoe or what, but he would wear them a lot. And I remember he'd wear them with the. With the. With the purple and the gold, you know? But I know exactly what you mean. They're kind of like dry. Fitty, right? They're like my boxing shoes. They make boxing shoes just like those.
Sevas
Yeah.
Josh
Would you refer to them as huaraches?
Jiggy
I would, yeah.
Josh
When they were out, I would, yeah.
Jiggy
The huaraches. Because they're called, like, huaraches we can put a picture when you can. Those are flies. I had some, like, baby blue ones and I used to wear them with anything.
Sevas
So you're those type of people that wear basketball shoes outside?
Jiggy
Yeah, because I'm not a basketball player.
Josh
But yeah, maybe it wasn't selling.
Jiggy
Yeah, but like, no, it's not those. They're like. They're like when I was like, no.
Josh
Those are it, bro.
Jiggy
No, no, they made some before that. Trust me, trust me, trust me. You're talking about somebody who used to watch and one mixtapes.
Marco
Did you really?
Josh
Those.
Jiggy
Come on, bro.
Marco
My favorite stuff, bro.
Jiggy
Hot sauce.
Marco
Professor.
Jiggy
The Professor. Amazing. Skip to my Lou.
Marco
Yeah.
Jiggy
Did you ever see I won basketball shoes? Did you ever do. No. Those were so popular.
Josh
Yeah.
Jiggy
And the N1 clothing.
Marco
Yeah. Super baggy. That's all coming back in, bro.
Josh
It really is, huh?
Jiggy
Yeah.
Marco
A lot of shorts and a lot of all that stuff is coming back in.
Jiggy
Look, this is the shoe. This is the shoe. I just want to show you this.
Marco
Because I love these shoes.
Jiggy
Look, they look like this.
Marco
Yep. I knew exactly.
Josh
Oh, yeah, bro. Those are not the Hiratas. Those are a whole different.
Jiggy
What does that say? Does that not say. The H is silent, bro. How do you say it in English? How do you say this in English?
Josh
Huarachi.
Jiggy
It's huarache.
Josh
I believe that they're Japanese.
Marco
Are they really?
Josh
Yeah, that's what. Yeah.
Jiggy
So it's like, damn, I'm gonna buy some of these. These are clean. We should bring these back.
Marco
I'm down, bro.
Jiggy
There's not a lot of people rock these.
Marco
I'll buy them and you buy them.
Jiggy
Okay.
Marco
And we'll.
Josh
You guys buy each other's pair.
Jiggy
Okay?
Marco
Oh, yeah, we'll go to La Fit and we'll play five on five.
Josh
Oh, my God, bro, you don't want to see this. Full ball. Have you ever.
Jiggy
Have you ever played Rucker Park?
Josh
Just the way you're looking at me right now. I'm not even worried about you, bro.
Jiggy
He doubted about you. I can ball honestly. Not like you, but not even close. But like, everything. I can do everything.
Josh
Can we get. Can we get a game in? I'd love to play with you guys. That'd be so sick.
Jiggy
This is what we'll do. We'll play like the. Obviously, you're the star. Everybody will be miked up. We'll have like four videographers and we'll just. We'll do a sick, real video Tik tok super dope. You going to say something?
Josh
Right now.
Sevas
I used to, like, always go with him at LA Fitness.
Marco
Oh, yeah.
Jiggy
Bro, why is LA Fitness so savage there? Every time I go, there's people fighting, bro.
Marco
That's why I had to stop fighting.
Sevas
It's just smelly. Smells like.
Josh
That's a good point. It does smell.
Sevas
I don't want to say it, but it smells like swas.
Marco
Yeah.
Jiggy
What's swas?
Josh
Sweaty ass.
Jiggy
Oh, my God. I did not know that, bro.
Josh
Get with the lingo.
Marco
That's crazy, bro.
Jiggy
I didn't know that. I didn't know what that meant.
Josh
Can I be real with you? I didn't know that either. I've never heard that. But yeah, I was like, come on, come on.
Jiggy
No, I, I, I, I honestly thought it, it was like something maybe that smells like sage. It sounds like Sage's cousin swas. Yeah, SW Sweaty ass. I did not know. Thank you for sharing that with me. I'm over here not wanting to say. And she got like, sw. And she.
Josh
Know how to do it. She do.
Jiggy
I've learned so much from her. What's her bank account? The C Cougar. The quer. What is it called?
Josh
What was it again? Kuga Money. Anyways, well, guys, it was an absolute pleasure having you guys on the podcast. I'm super inspired by you, Jake. I'm super inspired by you guys. Relationship, man. I'm rooting for you guys. You guys, we're fans of you guys forever. We hope for those courtside seats, bro. I'm excited for your brand.

Marco
We're going to have to do another P when she.
Josh
Oh, yeah, 100%.
Jiggy
I would love that. And we have to do that video of us playing basketball. I need to show you, cuz there's something in the basketball.
Sevas
Like, I didn't see your form.
Jiggy
I need to see.
Marco
Show me your shot right now. How would you say? Okay, how would you finish, though?
Sevas
Okay, that's not that bad.

Josh
Is that traveling? He's traveling. He's traveling.
Jiggy
I bet you.
Josh
I think I'm better than him. How much you want to bet?
Sevas
You know what?
Marco
You know what, though? I'm not gonna lie.
Sevas
No, I feel like.
Marco
I feel like he might body you, bro. Yeah, but you got speed and you got endurance, though.
Josh
He don't.
Marco
That's what's gonna like this.
Josh
Endurance. Endurance, maybe.
Jiggy
Okay, bro. That's how he play.
Marco
He bomb the ball like this.
Jiggy
You don't know what that is.
Marco
We gotta see this. What is it?
Josh
What is that called? Stick to this, G. I do play aggressive, though.
Jiggy
Double dribbles.
Marco
And you don't even know you playing aggressive.
Josh
I know. I don't. I don't. Yeah, yeah, yeah, bro. Because I played a little bit of basketball, like in high school. Football was my sport, but I would always constantly getting fouls and stuff like that. And then my coaches are like, yo, you're not on the football field right now, bro.
Sevas
That's what I was gonna say. I'm like, football players are like the type of players that like, from football, from basketball. They're the type of players of foul.
Josh
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's aggressive.
Marco
He's gonna value a lot, bro.
Jiggy
That's fine, bro. I ain't even gonna call it. Let him found me, bro. Let him found me.
Sevas
And then you're gonna end up like this guy. One night, he came from LA Fitness, Big Dash, A big.
Josh
Well, wait Fighting or just a people.
Marco
She's talking about people that are hurt. But she broke my brother's nose by him playing defense on her, bro. So my brother, like I said, he has never played sports in his life, so I always had nothing, bro. I. I always have him, though, as, like, another defender. Like a fake defender.
Josh
Yeah, yeah.
Jiggy
Body.
Josh
Just a body.
Marco
Exactly. So he was like. He leaned in too much, and when she crossed over, you just heard the crap.
Jiggy
Ah.
Marco
And, like, from her head. Yeah, bro. Like, she went like this, and then the nose is right here. Smacked his nose. And you heard it, bro, because we're in the gym by ourselves. All you heard was just, boom. And, like, he. Look, he just holds, and he just starts gushing out blood, like. Yeah, yeah.
Josh
Broke his nose.
Marco
Broke his nose.
Josh
Damn.
Marco
Still hasn't fixed it.
Jiggy
No.
Marco
He's waiting for her to make it to the league or get the cool. Get the cougin money.
Josh
He's gonna have the most beautiful, like, perfect button nose.
Jiggy
Whenever I see. Whenever I see him with, like, the perfect nose, I know that she's like, she made it.
Marco
Y'all should compliment his nose when y'all see him.
Jiggy
No, honestly, real talk. Like, I really know basketball. He don't even know what a honey dip is. What's a honey dip?
Josh
A honey dip, bro.
Marco
I don't even know what a honey dip is.
Josh
Is this when you, like, dip your. Vince Carter did that? He dunke his head in the rim and he hung it, and then he did it out?
Jiggy
Yeah, yeah.
Josh
I didn't.
Jiggy
That's the honey dip.
Josh
I didn't know it was called a honey dip. Context, clue. Something you know nothing about.
Sevas
Wait, what's a probe?
Jiggy
A probe?
Sevas
Probing. What's probing in basketball?
Jiggy
D. That one. I don't know. I'm so sorry.
Sevas
Probing in basketball was like.
Jiggy
I don't know what pro is.
Sevas
Probing in basketball is, like, kind of like waiting and being patient.
Jiggy
And then let's say you beat everybody.
Marco
Down the court and you need, like, all your teammates to come up. You just come back out with the ball, and you just start relaxing. Like, just let everybody catch up.
Jiggy
I didn't ask, who's your favorite NBA team and wnba.
Sevas
I don't have a favorite team. I only have favorite players. My favorite WNBA player is Kelsey Plum. She's the reason why I would, like, wear, like, a ponytail and a braid. Like, let's go. I like, I remember I met her because her roommate at the time in college was my brother's. Like, yeah.
Marco
Like, I knew. I know her since, like elementary. Oh, yeah. And this one, she first started playing and Kelsey's about to break the all time college record. So I was like, I got to take her to go see her. So it kind of motored her because, like, now she only cares about scoring. Like, she loves the score. And it's because of Kelsey Plum, so.
Josh
So you've met her, like, you've like, interacted with her and stuff?
Sevas
