Edgar
It's a highlight video. Just looking back at an incredible 2024. I said this on a. On a previous podcast, but this was one of the best years of my life. And a huge part of my life is La Platica. You guys are a massive part of both of our lives, and we can't thank you guys enough. So this is just a little look back of the year. We had so many incredible guests that, I mean, some of these guests have really made us feel like we're really doing it out here.
Josh
We're really.
Edgar
We're really like, you know, we're really putting on for the Latinos for you guys, and it just makes us so proud, man.
Josh
And, yeah, just like Josh said, I mean, it's one of the best moments of my life was this year just honestly uplifting Josh and uplifting myself, telling myself, wow, we could be these people. We are these people that we thought we wanted to be or that we are or that we. Who? Who knows? Next year, I don't even know where we're gonna be at next year, but we doing it.
Edgar
Maybe we are who we think we are when we are who we are.
Josh
And honestly, all of this is thanks to you guys back at home. We can't thank you guys enough. Josh and myself always talk about what we can do to give back to you guys. And honestly, next year is the year to give back.
Edgar
Are we going hard on the game?
Josh
I don't know what we gonna do, but we're gonna do multiple things, not just one thing.
Edgar
It's gonna be a lot of back giving.
Josh
So thank you guys so much from the bottom of our hearts. It was an amazing year, and it was all thanks to you guys. We met amazing people even outside of La Platica. Like, outside La Platica, we still meet people from La Platica.
Edgar
Absolutely.
Josh
And people who watch us. And I love talking to you guys, and I know Josh is. Josh loves talking to you guys as well. And it's just. And we're super blessed and we will never take this for granted. Yeah.
Edgar
No, never. Honestly, when we get the opportunity to meet you guys, like, in person is one of the greatest things that comes with having a podcast. Just being able to chat with you guys is truly a blessing. So thank you guys for the constant love the support that you guys show us, I know we launched Merch this year for the first time. Definitely more merch coming next year. Thank you, guys for everybody who bought Merch. It meant everything to us, and I can't wait to see you guys out and about. Rocking the merch. Yeah, we want a big shout out to our producer, Jess, for just rocking with us the entire year. She really elevated the show to another level, and we're so grateful for her shout out to Matt for just holding it down and. And the videography and the editing and all these videos that you see every single week that are on time are because of this incredible team that we've built around us who love La Platica just as much as Sevas and I do. And you guys are the. The. The topic of conversation every single week. So we. We appreciate you guys tremendously. Yeah.
Josh
We have so much more to offer next year. We're brainstorming what we. What we want to do, what we can do and what we should do.
Edgar
And what we will do.
Josh
Cheers to a new year.
Edgar
Come on, man.
Josh
Cheers to you guys. Happy New Year. Spend it with your family, with your loved ones, with your friends. Enjoy it. Smile, everybody.
Edgar
I wanted you to say that. I want. I wanted you to say that.
Josh
You want to say it.
Edgar
No, you say it.
Josh
Approxima platica. Thank you, guys. We love you guys.
Edgar
Cheers with all our hearts. Salud.
Josh
And I hope you guys really like that Grinch episode.
Edgar
And we'll see you guys in 12.4 seconds. Oh, by the way, sorry, before we quit, Matt, keep this in and keep the part that I said keep it in, guys. If we. We put a highlight of, like, the whole year, some of the. Our favorite moments. If we miss a favorite moment or one of your favorite moments, please let us know in the comments below. I definitely want to hear back some of your favorite moments throughout the year. Definitely a lot of exciting, interesting.
Josh
Yeah.
Edgar
Things that went down.
Josh
I can't wait to see that video.
Edgar
Yeah. Love you guys.
Josh
Love you, too. Love you too.
Edgar
Love you. Me, too.
Josh
Don't worry about it.
Edgar
Okay, what's next for you? Like, what. What is your purpose at the moment?
Josh
Right now?
Timothy
I'm obsessed with fitness, bro, and I.
Josh
Want to get myself right, bro. I want to look in the mirror and be like, all right, good. Yeah. You know, which I'm starting to get.
Timothy
There, and I'm really liking that. Yeah, but in career, too, bro.
Josh
Like, I'm starting to pick up the camera more. I'm like, you know, I'm now More.
Timothy
Active on all platforms and really doing.
Josh
What I came out here to do, bro. You know what I mean? I came out here and kind of.
Timothy
Like, settled and like, oh, now I'm living family life and not really, like, pushing for more, you know, And I, I get it. Like, it was cool.
Josh
I'm grateful for everything, but still, there's always more to do.
Edgar
Absolutely.
Josh
So, yeah. Damn. Before we go on another break real quick, and then we have a little bit more time after that, speaking about, like, fitness and stuff like that, like, what's one body part that you actually really want? Like, you, like.
Edgar
You said body part.
Josh
Why did you do that so good? Like, what's his name? Stopping. What was it, the one party? Yeah, like, you know, like, like, for example, like, me, like, I, I, I never really grew. No, I never really grew up. Like, I feel like genetically I'm not like a big chess guy, and you're a pretty big chess guy. Like, you naturally have a chest. Yeah.
Edgar
Yeah. Okay.
Josh
Yeah. And I don't. I gotta work for it. And I gotta get really lean to have a chest. Oh, bro, that's just, that's just my example.
Edgar
Oh, your cats.
Josh
Oh, you want calves or calves or you naturally have calves? Legs. Oh, wow.
Edgar
Legs.
Josh
Wow, good.
Timothy
I have skinny legs, bro.
Josh
So you work out your legs a lot? Yeah. Oh, cool.
Timothy
So I'm trying to, you know, squat, lunge, deadlift, all. Everything I need to do.
Josh
Nice. Yeah. Hell yeah.
Edgar
First impressions. Do you remember the first time? Well, this is the first time you met Seas today. Huh? All right, I want to, I want you to give us your first impressions of us.
Josh
I think she should go. Me first.
Edgar
Go. Go with Cuz.
Josh
You've known Josh already, especially because you guys went viral.
Sebas
I just met you, so I don't.
Edgar
Know, but when you first saw him, what did you think?
Josh
Yeah, like what you think he was nice?
Sebas
I mean, you were nice.
Josh
Sorry. I am nice.
Jess
Yeah, yeah.
Edgar
What else?
Josh
I don't know what else.
Edgar
What'd you think about his style?
Jess
It's cute.
Josh
I know Edgar. I'll take that much. I know Edgar. I wish I did dress up like an Edgar, though.
Edgar
Like.
Josh
I should have.
Edgar
He said that, bro. He said up.
Josh
All right, well, thank you. Because I am nice and I'm only nice to nice people, period.
Edgar
Oh, there you go, man.
Josh
What about Josh? What's your first impression of Josh Leva? The Josh?
Jess
Okay, so when I first met him.
Edgar
Damn.
Josh
Big ass paragraph coming your way. Yeah, dude, that's up. Shoddy. Yeah, the. He's nice and Then Josh. What about Josh? Well, let me tell you something about Josh Leva. Even her accent change. Well, let me actually tell you about Josh Leva. Just kidding. No, I get it. You don't know me as much.
Edgar
Yeah, I already met her. Like, this is my fourth time in you. Right? 34th time in you. Yeah, we've been in it, bro. Been in it.
Josh
I guess. I mean, I didn't get invited to Jennica's podcast, so anyways. But that's another story.
Edgar
He's all salty about that.
Jess
Oh, my.
Edgar
She watched the whole thing.
Jess
Yep, I watched it. I tried to not laugh because. Oh, my God. It was good, though.
Josh
It was really good. I saw the podcast behind the scenes.
Edgar
Every time I would look up, I'd see Shoddy right there, and I'm like, I just put a smile on my face.
Josh
I love that. Okay, so what are your fis. Your first impressions of the Josh neighbor? Okay.
Jess
When I first met him, I was.
Josh
Really nervous, to be honest.
Sebas
I'm a nervous person.
Josh
Really? But did you know about Josh prior?
Jess
To be honest?
Sebas
Let me be honest.
Josh
No, I did not know about you.
Edgar
Yeah, that's fine. So did you get somebody put you on, like.
Josh
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sebas
My manager put me on, actually.
Josh
I remember that day well. Well, well, well, well. Here we go. I'm gonna take another shot just because I'm like, in that mood because we have a really special guest and honestly, it's. It's. It's a milestone for us. It really is.
Les
Do you guys really feel that way or.
Edgar
I promise you, cuz you guys say.
Les
This to every guest in the.
Sebas
I'm just kidding.
Josh
No, every guest is a privilege.
Edgar
It really is. But there's are like, mega privilege. Yeah, yeah.
Les
No, I'm just kidding. Like, thank you so much.
Josh
Like, yeah, we know, we know.
Edgar
Honestly, even for, like, we know who we're with. Yeah. Even people listening like you telling a story like you did on before, I think it's inspiring for people. Like, people can take it how they want, right. Some people might view it as like, oh, she's like bragging. But some people can really listen to what you're saying. Saying, like, hey, I was just. Just like everybody else, I had my own plans. I was studying to be a cpa, and I got an opportunity to do something, and I like, capitalized on it.
Pepe
Ye.
Edgar
There's opportunity for everybody to do every.
Josh
Time that I would.
Les
Like when we, Me and Savas have been talking about, like, me coming on La Platica for, I don't know, a couple Months, maybe. But, yeah, every time I would think about it, I'm like, I don't know. I just really wanna. I've never shared, like, my first, like, actual, like, experience where I was just like, oh, my God, like, this is, like, life changing for me, you know?
Edgar
And, Les, I think you're the perfect person to do this because you come from humble beginnings, you know what I mean? Like, you. You really worked for it. You built something for yourself.
Josh
Yeah.
Les
And I think, like, one of the things that I pray to God till this day and from the first day was like, don't ever. I mean, this was prior. I mean, I lived at my parents still, and my prayers to God, I mean, I don't know how if you guys are religious, but it was always like, don't ever let money, fame, or anything change my heart and change, like, how I am as a person, you know? And I feel like God truly has heard me because, you know, at first the Internet is so, like, bubbly and happy and, like, the perfect place. But then the more you grow and stuff, you're like, oh, not everybody's nice. Not everybody likes you, you know?
Josh
No, trust me, we know.
Les
And it was a kind of hard pill to swallow for me because I'm like, why I'm so nice and I love everybody, you know? But I just. Sometimes I feel like that can change people in the way that they just start, like, growing hate and being like, you know, like, yeah, people, they're ugly and stuff.
Edgar
You don't feel like.
Les
No, I don't feel like that. And that's what I'm saying. Like, I never knew what, like, having followers was or, you know, like, being financially well and stuff. So I would always just tell God, like, I don't know what I'm going into, but, like, this is all yours. Like, this is yours, you know? And, like, don't ever let.
Josh
That's awesome.
Les
Please don't ever let the ugly people or the money or the fame change who I am and who I truly am, you know? So I feel like I've stayed pretty, like, true to myself. And, like, the girls that follow me since back in the day, like, they write for me, and I just, like, appreciate them so much. I meet so many people every single time that we're out.
Edgar
Oh, oh.
King
Oh, shoot.
Josh
Josh, you want to see this?
Edgar
Do we want to go there? You guys ready to get a. A little funky?
Mom
I think you both lost. I have no idea.
Josh
Josh, say it all up for people can hear. Don't get all red either.
Edgar
Be truthful hey, let me tell you something, bro. Me and my mom, I bought like about maybe like seven, eight years ago. We really crossed a different, like. I don't wanna. I don't know how to call it, like a boundary in our relationship where she. We both like realize I'm an adult now. You know what I mean? Like, I've experienced a lot of stuff.
Josh
She realized that when, like a year.
Edgar
Ago, about like two weeks ago yesterday. Ye. And we. We've like had conversations like this about, you know.
Josh
Yeah. That's cool. So.
Edgar
Yeah.
Josh
All right, so read it out.
Edgar
King. This is the, the question. It's. Make them guess at what age they think you both lost your virginity.
Mom
So I honestly don't know because I always thought you were my angel. So I don't ever. I don't know. I. I don't never think because our house has rules.
Edgar
Yeah.
Mom
I couldn't.
Edgar
I obeyed that.
Josh
I better meant to be broken.
Mom
I couldn't bring men into the house to sleep at my house. And they couldn't bring girls either. They. If they snuck somebody. I don't know, never did. But you know, you have to keep in mind too that I used to work a lot. And when I gave them assignments when I went to work, I said, you wash the dishes, you clean this.
Josh
Yeah.
Mom
And I could hear when I park on my driveway that these kids were running around. Oh crap, mom is home. And I could walk in and I see them sweating because they were putting everything away. But I don't sweat. But I never really caught him with somebody. Not that I remember.
Edgar
Mom, you're avoiding the question.
Josh
All right?
Mom
I don't know. That's what I'm saying.
Josh
If you would take a guess.
Mom
I don't know.
Josh
Your baby, King.
Mom
Sixteen.
Edgar
Okay.
Josh
Dang. Sixteen. That's pretty young.
Edgar
It's pretty young. That's pretty young. Why 16?
Mom
I don't know. You had a girlfriend.
Edgar
Okay, that's fair.
Josh
You had a girlfriend at 16, huh?
Edgar
Yeah.
Josh
So I did.
Edgar
To her. To her? I don't want to say defense, but like to her point, I. I was in a long term relationship. Yeah. So I get it. Yeah.
King
Yeah.
Josh
So what? Is that correct or what are you gonna say?
Edgar
I gotta answer it.
Josh
Should you?
Mom
Of course.
Josh
Come on. Didn't you and your mom cross a boundary? Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Edgar
But did not the world too? I gotta cross the boundary?
Josh
I don't know. That's up to you. I'm not gonna hold you to that. Sign. Whatever you want.
Edgar
Are you gonna say the age?
Josh
I'm gonna Say.
Edgar
You're gonna say.
Josh
I'm gonna say.
Edgar
Yeah, you're gonna say?
Josh
Yeah. Okay.
Edgar
Do you know. Okay, how about you guess? How about you guess and we'll say it at the same time? Have you guys had this conversation before, by the way?
Josh
Because I think, you know, sometimes you do the car thing, right? No. Too soon? No. Just kidding. I'm trying to make people laugh at home.
Edgar
Mom's episode.
Josh
I'm trying to make people laugh at home. I'm a jokester.
Edgar
Sixteen's young. I didn't think my mom would pin me at 16.
Josh
Damn, Mom.
Edgar
Like, really? You thought I was out there like that?
Mom
I don't know.
Edgar
No, I was. I was 21.
Josh
Really?
Edgar
21? 21. No, I'm just kidding. I was 15. I was about 15. I want to say. I don't remember exactly, but I want to say I was about. We're not gonna go.
Josh
15 years old, bro. I was still asking for Kanikas at that age, bro. What are you doing?
Edgar
Doing, bro?
King
King.
Josh
Huh? Wanna meet King? Is that what you would tell them?
Edgar
Yeah. I was about 15. I was about 15.
Josh
Damn. Was it at your mother's house?
Edgar
It was not at my mother's house. It was not at my mother's house. No, no, no, no.
Josh
The motels. It was at a Motel 6.
Edgar
It was not at a Motel 6. I have class.
Josh
It was in front of a Wiener schnitzel.
Edgar
Yeah. Yeah.
Josh
Wow.
Edgar
Yeah.
Josh
Dang. You're like a early. What is it called?
Edgar
Early Bloomer.
Josh
Early Bloomer. Yeah, bro. I was literally still playing. Sorry, excuse my language. Pokemon cards.
Edgar
Yeah. How old are you?
Josh
Me? Last year in June. I got married that night.
Edgar
Wow.
Josh
Yeah. I waited that long.
Edgar
Damn, dude.
Josh
So good, man. It was good. Yeah, I was. She said I was better than she thought I was gonna be. Yeah. So. Wow. No train titres. Yeah. 33. Because I'm 33 now.
Edgar
Celebrating your birthday in Dominican Republic. Yep.
Josh
Yeah.
Edgar
Yeah.
Josh
So.
Edgar
Yeah. Wait, so how old are you? Really good jokes. That was. Good joke. Yeah.
Josh
I think I was, like, 17, 18. Yeah. It was nothing special.
Edgar
Yeah.
Josh
But, yeah. Can we move on? I'm a married man, you know, by the way, that's. With all due respect. With all due respect.
Edgar
Yeah, of course. All right, you guys ready for the next one?
Josh
Yes, Mom.
Edgar
You guys ready? Moms. All right. What about Sevas and Josh makes you the proudest.
Mom
You want to go first? I'm just.
Edgar
Did she just ask her?
Mom
Because she pointed. I mean, she went like this, right? Mexicans go like this. I think Josh has. Has accomplished a lot of things on his own, and he's done amazing decisions for himself. I'm very proud of him for being humble and a good kid. But most of all, I always told them, stay combo. Never think anybody is better than you. I always. Every time I talk to him.
King
Yeah, right.
Mom
We share a lot of Josh, and I talk a lot on the phone, and I call him when I'm stressing. Now I'm venting with him, and I always think, wow, this is my son that he used to come and cry to me. Now I. Sometimes I go to him.
Josh
That's beautiful.
Mom
Josh has become, like, really a good friend of mine, both of my boys. And Mark is amazing. He listen. He lives with me, so he has to listen to me. Yeah. He's like, what, Mom?
Josh
But.
Mom
But he's really a good listener. But whenever I call Josh and I say, can I vent? He says, yes, mom, you know, go ahead. And he listens. And I'm proud of him that he takes the time. And as busy as he is, he takes the time to listen sometimes to what I think is now the end of the world, because it's easy now that, yeah, he's older and stuff. But, yeah, I'm just proud of who he is and how he's grown up to be and not having a dad and. And.
Josh
And.
Mom
And being who he is. And I think when he sends a message that it's okay not to have a father.
Josh
Yeah.
Mom
And you still can be successful at what you are. And he starts, very true. Very good. So I'm proud of you, mijo. And I think that you do. You're doing amazing things, and you will continue to do amazing things because the world is just in your hands.
Edgar
Come on, Mom.
Josh
Come on, let's go.
Edgar
I don't know, Mom.
Josh
Some king.
Timothy
I'ma wait for this to drop.
Josh
I don't think it's gonna drop. No, it will, it will.
Edgar
Since, baby.
Timothy
It will.
Edgar
I love the essence.
Josh
Let's be the MCs. Yo. It's a beautiful.
Timothy
I'm on the podcast sipping tequila, you know I stay fly from my beanies to my filas Sipping on topo chico Back in high school they used to call me that Chino, we know you know that I got the cheat code, yeah. This is how we do, yo.
Josh
Okay.
Timothy
I'm on la platica I need a fat chica cuz I don't like the Plastica or is it Plastico like I said? Yes, I'm sipping on the topo chico this is how we go? I got the green beanie on and you see me on MTV or maybe YouTube. I do the live shows and they flash. They two boobs and they nipples. Girls always dribble when they come around me, you know I'm the man. I wish I would have talked to that girl up in vans. But it's okay. I still got fans. They my stance, yo, so many callbacks. If you a. Then you need to fall back. Oh, I'm married. It's inappropriate.
Edgar
That's a little rude, sweetheart. That's a little rude.
Timothy
Yeah, that's right. That's a little rude. Everybody knows Timothy is that dude. But I don't care what you say.
Josh
Cause.
Timothy
Cause I'm on a podcast with Josh Laver.
Edgar
You know, I'm.
Timothy
Nah, boy, my guy here looking fresh with the corduroys. Oh, this is how we do. Wow, look at his shoes.
Edgar
Some beautiful shoes. Some beautiful shoes.
Timothy
Yeah.
Edgar
Wow.
Josh
Thanks. Thanks.
Edgar
That was actually pretty nice, bro.
Josh
That part about the. About the girl within the van store, like you had to listen to the whole pod.
Edgar
Yeah.
King
I never felt bad from a drug.
Josh
That's crazy.
Edgar
Wow.
King
You see what I'm saying?
Edgar
So you've never had a bad experience from a drug, but you've had a bad experience from girls?
Josh
Yeah, yeah.
Edgar
Heartbreak.
King
You see what I'm saying?
Edgar
You've been heartbroken before.
King
Hell yeah. You have, too.
Edgar
Multiple times. Oh, T. Yo, I'm with you, bro.
Josh
Nothing funnier with the ER at the end.
King
If a man cheat. And I. I mean, I don't even want to get into that, bro.
Josh
But, yeah, you know what I'm saying.
King
Women. Women are devious. And spirit, bro. They. They could be. They're. Bro, for real. They good at cheating, bro.
Edgar
You think they're better than men?
King
Hell, yeah.
Josh
What the damn.
Edgar
Why. Why do you think that is, though? Just because, bro.
King
Because they're very particular. They're very devious. They're sneaky. They're women. They already have these emotions that push them and drive them to execute it correctly.
Pepe
If we cheat, this.
King
Because I was being dumb and I'm horny, and I'll just like. I just like. I'll look at a rock and it looked like an ass, and I'll be like, damn, it's less deep.
Edgar
It's not that deep.
King
You see what I'm saying? It ain't that.
Josh
That.
Edgar
Yeah.
King
When a woman do it, she like, bro, like, man, that was intentional. That whole, like. Oh, that whole hurt.
Edgar
Damn.
Josh
Wow.
King
You know what I'm saying?
Edgar
That that hurts.
Josh
Which they're both wrong.
King
And if. And if. Don't cheat. You know what? They know who next? Bro, I'm trying to tell you.
Edgar
Don't say that, bro. That scares me, bro.
King
Eve, bro. Listen. Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve. Adam was like, no. Adam was like, no. God told us not to do it. Yeah, I don't. I don't think we should do it. And Eve got what? She got distracted by what? Another man. The snake and the pro in the Garden.
Josh
Hey, more of that after this break. We'll be right back, everybody.
Edgar
Hey, I'm not gonna lie.
Josh
I feel a little Mexican OT in the building.
Edgar
Hey, is that the Mexican?
Josh
I would say.
Edgar
Yo, is that that Mexican joshi? Yo. Yo, is that that Mexican joshi?
Josh
Have you ever been hurt by me? Wow. Have you ever been hurt by me? When was it?
Edgar
What?
Josh
This is crazy. You don't make me cry. F. Don't make me feel like that. And I'll even say it in Spanish, too, because I'm a Spanish speaker. Alas.
Edgar
Trying to think. Because initially, like, my. Like, I'm just like, no, you never hurt me. Right? But I'm trying to think if there's been, like, a time where I felt like maybe I, like, damn, you know? I don't think so.
Josh
Before you say something, I won't be sad.
Edgar
No, bro. Man. Hurt me. Hurt me. Yes. Yes.
Josh
When did I hurt you?
Edgar
Yes, you did hurt me. You did hurt me, bro.
Josh
What?
Edgar
Yes. Yes. This is a good game, Jess, and this is not a big deal.
Josh
Yeah.
Edgar
Because I got over it on my own. I never really, like, talked through it with you because, like, it's not that serious. And I know you had, like. I don't know. Let me just say it before I start creating all these excuses for you, because that's what I'm doing. I'm creating excuses.
Josh
No. No excuses.
Edgar
I was driving to your house one time, and I ran out of gas, and I was stuck in the middle of an intersection, and I was probably less than a mile away from you, and I called you because you were the first person that I thought about. I was like, I'm going to your house. I think we were going to record a podcast. This was in the last, like, year and a half.
Josh
I think I remember this.
Edgar
And I was literally stuck in the middle of the intersection, and I remember talking to you, and I felt like.
Josh
You didn't want to.
Edgar
Didn't want to help me, and I was like, bro, I'm literally. And you. And I felt like you kind of just kept trying to Avoid coming to help. Like, you're like, is there anything you can do? Like, where's the gas station? Can you Uber? Can you walk? Like, where are you? And I'm like, bro, I'm stuck. Like, I'm in an intersection, bro. Like, I just need you to come help me, like, take care of my car or, like, go get. Help me get gas. And I just. I remember I got to your house, and I felt so, like, frustrated, and I was trying to, like, internalize it. I was like, okay, maybe he was busy with Karen. I was trying to create these excuses for you, but did I say anything?
Josh
I mean, did I remember that? Why didn't I actually go?
Edgar
You did. No, you didn't. You said. You said. You said, because my car is a hybrid. And you said, how do you run out of gas when you have a hybrid car? And I just remember being like, yeah, I guess that happens. And I. And I literally. Bro, I was just like, bro, what? Like, you couldn't just come, like, just, like, help.
Josh
I do remember. I remember even where you told me. You're right. You're kind of like, by one of the gas stations, that it was 405 by the freeway. Yeah. Yeah.
Edgar
And it was so. And I think I was just frustrated because, like, I was late per usual, running out of gas. Like, stopping in the middle of an intersection is. Sucks. Embarrassing. And then, like, there was so much traffic, bro, so the cars were coming. People don't give a. People are living their own lives, you know? So I just needed, like, assistance. And. And, dude, it's. Look, it's. I can't, like, I can't get upset for expecting you to come and save the day. I think it's like a mixture of frustration and. And then also, like, sometime as humans, we create these expectations for people, and when they don't meet those expectations, we take them as, like, a failure. We take them as like, they, they, they. They. They hurt us. You know what I mean? So that's one of those things where I'm like, yeah, but, like, it did hurt me, though. It did hurt me. Because then what you start doing as a human, you start thinking, like, if he was in that situation, I would have gone in a heartbeat. I wouldn't have asked a single question.
Josh
Yeah.
Edgar
You know, but then it's like, you can't get so consumed in that as well. It's one of those, like, things.
Josh
No. Yeah. First of all, I apologize. Yeah. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the moment we've all been waiting for. The one and Only our friend, who happens to be a producer. Our producer, the lovely, the one and only. Ladies and gentlemen, we're back from the commercial, and once again, we've been waiting for this moment. She's entered our lives in the most positive way possible. Why am I holding the mic like that? Josh, please tell the audience who we have.
Edgar
Guys, the moment has come. Like Seba says, it is time for you guys to meet our producer for La Platica, who happens to be our friend, the wonderful, the one and only Jess.
Josh
Wow. Jess, that was all.
Sebas
You guys have such kind things to say.
Josh
Always girl only to kind people.
Edgar
Jess, I was, like, bragging about you yesterday, too, to Josh, actually, because, genuinely, I feel like we always tell you this because we really do want to remind you how incredible you are and how much you have lifted La Platica. You've brought so much value to us. And not only that, like, you've been an incredible friend to us.
Josh
Yeah, so. And to. To me.
Edgar
Yeah.
Josh
I'm just saying. Me.
Edgar
Yeah.
Josh
That's really important for me as, you know, obviously, somebody who we like, you know, and I've met you, you know, in the past, and you weren't, you know, producing for Lapatika yet, but. Okay, so let me just tell a story. Should I tell a story? No, actually, you know what? Yeah.
Edgar
Before we do. Before we do that, we want to get to the story. I want to find out a little bit more about.
Josh
Yes.
Edgar
And then I also want people to. Because a lot of people might not know what a producer is or what a role. What that role is.
Josh
Yeah.
Edgar
So, Jess, why don't you give them a little breakdown of who you are and then what kind of value you bring to La Platica and, like, what your role is as a producer.
Mel
I want to, like, keep up with my kids.
Edgar
You don't want to be a regular mom.
Josh
Yeah. You want to be a cool mom.
Mel
Like, I want to get the section for my daughter so, like, she doesn't have to entertain dumbass dudes like we do.
Edgar
That's the boss moves right there.
Mel
That's what I'm saying. I got the section. You and your girls, just relax.
Josh
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Edgar
Dude, honestly, that's. That's pretty sick.
Josh
What's a Day in a Life with Nas?
Mel
Oh, God.
Josh
Like, what time do you wake up? Like, are you having a certain breakfast? Being a mother of three?
Mel
Like, what's going on Day in my life as mommy. My video title. Okay, so how do I start my day? I'm usually up by no later Than like eight.
Edgar
Okay.
Mel
Eight is my latest. It depends on my morning. Like today I was gonna be on the podcast. I like started glamming at like 11, so my morning was a little different. But usually I like to Mel and I really do like split the task if anything. Mel kind of takes over the mornings with the kids. So you know, us women, we have like our skincare routine and this and that. So one thing about Kayvon, he only likes his mommy to do his hair. Like Mel will pack his lunch, all that, pick out his outfit. I'll do.
Edgar
Don't touch the hair.
Mel
Yeah, I'll do the hair and then. Yeah, and then I'll just head up, get ready for if I have to film. It depends. I like to structure my weeks. This is my filming day, this is my editing day. So that kind of depends because I have to like glam if I, if I am filming.
Edgar
Yeah.
Mel
I don't know. Every day is just different.
Josh
What do you call the process by which A cell clones itself? A, diffusion, B, duplication, C, osmosis or D, mitosis.
Edgar
We know this one, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh
All right, so then say it. Josh.
Edgar
Yeah, yeah.
Josh
All right. Say Josh without looking at Irvin. Say it then.
Edgar
I mean, I know.
Josh
Stop looking at it.
Edgar
You know that I know this one, right? Yeah, because you know this one.
Josh
Yeah. We both know it's.
Edgar
We both know that it's mitosis.
Josh
The D, is it mitosis, you mother.
Edgar
Yeah, and the D stands for D is nuts. Next question, next question.
Josh
Can you kind of explain what stiff socks means?
Edgar
A majority of our audience is girls is women.
Josh
Cuz a lot of people like, like they'll read like if I show my, my girl, like I'm not going to show her stiff socks. Right? But if I show her like, oh yeah, if I show her that your podcast is called Stiff Socks, she's not going to think what I think. Right, right, right. Because a lot of guys know what stiff socks means.
Edgar
Yeah. You said it might go over her head like.
Josh
Yeah, stiff socks.
Edgar
Why? Yeah.
Josh
Can you explain why it's stiff? Sucks.
Pepe
I will, but let me add one more. One more like little funny thing. Just speaking of like over the head. So my mom is like obviously a fan of what I do and she like wears stiff socks. Merch. I swear to God, dude, I'll be FaceTiming her. And she's like at the grocery store buying avocados and she has like like.
Sebas
A stiff side shirt and it seems.
Pepe
I think, and it's so cute. But I'm like, right.
Josh
Really hope.
Pepe
I really hope someone doesn't go, what do you not.
Edgar
Oh, she doesn't.
Pepe
Oh, shoot, dude. My mom is, like. She's, like, the best, but she, you know, it's like. I don't know, like, how you guys, like, with. With your parents and, like, the sex talk or, like, just open with, like, relationships.
Josh
I'm pretty open.
Edgar
I'm pretty open, too.
Pepe
With my. With my dad. It's wide open.
Edgar
Okay.
Pepe
The dude, he told me about getting. Are we. Can we go in on this? Like, okay. Like, my dad literally just. But yeah, like, my dad literally told me about, like, getting his ass eaten when I was like, damn, that's open, dog. When I was like. But I'm not talking about when I was, like, 21. I'm talking about when I was, like, 11, 12, 13.
Edgar
Damn.
Pepe
He was just like, man, that. You got to do it.
Edgar
Like, first you gotta clean. Yeah, sometimes.
Josh
No, no.
Pepe
But that's what I remember. I remember sort of sinking. He was like, I'm dating this. This, like, stylist. The salon, like, the girl stylist, bro. And she. Oh, man, you got your ass licked. And I'm like, bro, I haven't even yet. Like, I don't even. I don't really know what you're talking about.
Edgar
Yeah, yeah.
Pepe
But I'm in.
Edgar
I'm super intrigued.
Josh
Make sure you wipe your ass. But, you know, it's even better than wiping your ass.
Edgar
With a tongue manscape.
Josh
See? Another varsity jacket from Dropout jv. I like that. That was clever.
Edgar
That's pretty good.
Josh
Yeah, that was clever. Your jeans now look a little bit more. They're starting to get a little Baggier.
Edgar
Yeah, yeah. 2021. I think this fit is sick, bro.
Josh
Me, too. I do.
Edgar
This fit is, like, in right now because it's kind of 90s, right? It's kind of like Zack Morris kind of vibes from Saved by the Bell. I'm not mad at this fit.
Josh
No, me neither.
Edgar
I think I actually really like the way the jeans fit me. Like, it's. They're. They're tight, but they're not, like, super tight.
Josh
This is a whole outfit pose. Like the. Like, you know what I mean? Like, 100 even the pose, like, oh, I'm fixing my hair, but, like, you know. And it's perfectly open right here on the side as well.
Edgar
Yeah. What's the likes here, Jess? What are we doing here? What's vibing here?
Josh
Dang. Osky liked it. 2021.
Edgar
Wow.
Josh
I'm a little jealous.
Edgar
All right. People weren't feeling this one.
Josh
They weren't. Then you dropped down dramatically.
Edgar
Yeah, big time.
Josh
Still 30, 13, 000 likes though.
Edgar
Yeah.
Josh
I think I like this pick.
Edgar
I'd wear this fit.
Josh
There's nothing better.
Edgar
Oh, that was brilliant. Chest that. I can't. You can't make this up, bro.
Josh
I've been supporting your sexiness for years, bro. This ain't no. This ain't nothing new, bro.
Edgar
Oh my God.
Josh
I've been supporting the. The only reason why that emoji is in my recents here on my phone is because of you.
Edgar
Every time you comment on my photos. That is crazy, bro. See, it's crazy, bro.
Josh
I been about you. Oh, I'm your number one supporter. Literally.
Edgar
I'll drink to that one.
Josh
Literally I'm your number one.
Edgar
I'll drink to that.
Josh
Never anybody else.
Edgar
Come on, bro.
Josh
Never anybody else. I'm your number one. And that's 46 comments. And I. Oh my God.
Edgar
Yeah. Damn. I'm.
Josh
I've been about you, bro. If I was gay, I'm all over you. Unfortunately, I'm not for you or fortunately.
Edgar
You know, I'm full Mexican, right, dude?
Josh
I didn't say you weren't.
Edgar
Right. I really sold it there.
Josh
Right, dude? Right, dude.
Edgar
Oh my God, bro. Really drove it up.
Josh
You're so Mexican, bro. This is anonymous.
Sebas
In high school, I hooked up with a guy casually a few times. Nothing serious and eventually it ended. I graduated high school now 10 years ago and I've been with my now boyfriend for two years.
Josh
For under two years now.
Sebas
The problem is he's cousins with the guy I hooked up with in high school. Am I the asshole for not telling my boyfriend?
Josh
I know I should because I don't.
Sebas
Want to keep secrets, but Also, it was 10 years ago. It was nothing. And the cousin has a wife and kids now.
Edgar
Can I answer? It's still eating her alive. Clearly she needs to tell him. I personally think if something was eating me alive like that, where I'm still bringing it up, I would just have to just tell my partner. The issue is that's she might have waited too long.
Josh
That that's what I was about to say.
Edgar
Unleash a.
Josh
So is that worth it for my peace of mind?
Edgar
Yes, because you can't put a dollar sign on a peace of mind. And my peace of mind is worth that. You've only been together for two years.
Josh
If you break up, you'll be fine. So she's only been with the new guy for two years ago. She should say something I think she should say something because. Because guys are sometimes. And you never want him and his cousin getting into an argument and be like, shut up.
Edgar
That's why I remember I.
Josh
Your. But. But you know what's going to happen would. He would instantly break up with her right then and there if she has a conversation be terrible. They might not break up. He might be like, okay with it. Be like, oh, it was 10 years ago, so it should be like this. Hey, I need. I need to talk to you, and it's eating me up because I love you and I want to stay with you for the rest of my life. You know, whatever. I. 10 years ago. 10 years ago, I hooked up with your cousin. Now I think that he's gonna be thrown off. I don't think he's gonna break up with her, but I do think, because it's a very alpha thing and it's very machista to do, and a lot of guys are like this. He is now gonna have beef immediately. It doesn't matter what it is for 10 unless it's very rare. But his pride is gonna make him hate his cousin because his cousin never told them.
Edgar
And. Yes, very true. That's a really good point.
Josh
Because his. Now he's not mad because the girl didn't tell him.
Edgar
Yeah.
Josh
He's mad because since. Because they've been together for two years, but prior, they must have been dating somewhat. So why the didn't you tell me, cousin? You. You're the one that always had the idea of having, like, Mexican flavors, right?
Edgar
Well, I just knew, like, our frescoes, bro, are these beautiful flavors that, like.
Josh
And there's so many of them in.
Edgar
The Mexican culture, and. And they're not in the market, and there's so many. It's limitless. That don't exist.
Josh
So just visually, I know that you guys grew up differently. We did.
Edgar
So.
Josh
So. So when. When you heard about that having these alba frescas flavors, like Jamaica mango, what came to mind so very early on? Well, obviously, we knew we were going to build it around Josh's audience and his upbringing.
Edgar
I was kind of like, well, what.
Josh
If we start with, like, margarita? He's like, no, absolutely not. We got to start with hamika and horchata.
Edgar
Yeah.
Josh
And so. Which is the Two Kings. The Two Kings. And he's like, you know what? I gotta just show you the real thing. And for about a month, I think you just took me around, took his.
Edgar
Ass to the hood, baby.
Josh
Wait, you've never had Jamaica prior to meeting. You're joking. Wow, that's incredible. No, that's cool.
Edgar
You ever seen Training Day? You ever seen Training Day?
Josh
Yeah.
Edgar
With Denzel Washington? Yeah, I was Denzel.
Josh
I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Edgar
We'll find out.
Josh
He was a in that movie.
Edgar
That's true. Great movie. The good Denzel.
Josh
Yeah, the good Denzel.
Jess
Because if you go through my stories or whatever, you're gonna watch like, oh, she's in a club, she's here, she's there, she's drinking, she's partying. So people, you know, obviously.
Josh
Yeah.
Jess
That's the image. Like, I. And I do. I do. I enjoy my. But I'm saying I enjoy my life. But. But the other, like, the. When I'm not in the club at what, 2am, I'm the majority of the time with my son, with my chickens, with my goats, with my life. Like, you know what I mean? I'm doing normal.
Josh
It's the. You're not posting too.
Jess
Yeah, exactly. Like, I don't want to, you know, but. But at the same time, it's just like, having that duality is very important for me. It's like, you know, enjoy life to the fullest. Take those vacations, be out there drinking out in another country, and then come home and, you know, do what you need to do with your family and. And that's it. And if I happen to make money while I'm creating the content and making the music, then so be it. That's great. And, you know, it seems like we figured out life.
Edgar
Yeah. Because you have, like, a focal point. Like, you know, that your family is everything. That's like the driving force of what your life is about.
Jess
So everything.
Edgar
Everything you. I feel like when people don't have that, where they don't have that as your focus, your whole life just kind of into shambles and you're being pulled in every direction.
Jess
Exactly.
Edgar
Like, I feel like I could really. You up.
Jess
Yeah.
Edgar
Yeah.
Jess
You have to choose who your family is, too.
Edgar
Yeah.
Jess
My mom's one of nine. My dad's one of nine. I don't talk to 90 of my.
Edgar
Family, each one of nine.
Jess
Yeah. So that's. Imagine how many cousins I have, how much family. But at the same time, like, I chose who my people are, and I made my community based on love, support, and wanting each other to do better. And so I walked away from anyone who wasn't that. And that being able to just, you know, create that has made it to where I will do anything for this group. Of people. And other than that, nobody else matters, you know?
Josh
Yeah. And that's true. Like, when you do it for your family and stuff, that's always so cool. Because everything that you do going forward, you have a good head on your shoulders. Because when you don't have anybody, you can be kind of manipulated in ways, and you can start going with other people that want to do this, and then other people, and you start getting lost.
Jess
Yeah.
Josh
So that's really cool.
Jess
Yeah. When you're trying to be cool, people will always pull you in different directions because they'll just tell you what's cool, and then you want to go with them. But it's like, no, dude, Focus on the core values. Focus on, like, what's really important.
Edgar
That's what it is. Bro, can you send us that?
Josh
Yo, this got hella views, bro.
Edgar
That. That. I. I've seen that. Like crazy.
Josh
Not Benji typing in Seas Mara.
Edgar
Faster. It's faster.
Josh
You know what? Sometimes when you know so many languages, right, Benji? Sometimes it just like. Right? Yeah. We become noble kids once in a while. Yeah. You know, it's like there's so many languages me and Benji know, and it's like when we get one wrong, it's like we're just no kids. No more. Maybe you know more than. Yeah. And then the. And then the person roasting me probably only knows one language.
Edgar
How many languages you know?
Josh
Me? Probably five.
Mel
Oh, why did you include me?
Josh
I only know two languages. Languages.
Edgar
Have you ever tried, like, acting?
Sebas
That was my dream. Honestly, I wanted to act, but then the whole facial processing happened. The facial paralysis thing happened, and then I just gave up because I'm like. I'm not gonna be able to make a lot of, like, certain facial emotions and stuff.
Edgar
Yeah.
Sebas
But maybe I still can because Sylvester Stallone.
Edgar
Yeah.
Sebas
He has facial problem.
Edgar
Perfect example.
Sebas
Ye. Yeah.
Edgar
That's crazy. Can we talk about that a little bit? Yeah. So how did that happen? Like, what's the.
Sebas
I don't really.
Edgar
I'm not too familiar exactly what it is, so maybe you can kind of explain it as well.
Sebas
So there's different types. There are some people who have facial paralysis. Really bad, where, like, their eye completely shuts and. Or their face, like, droops to one side. I got it to where, Like, I got it because of nerve damage. So our nerves are here. We have it on both sides here. The nerve that connected to my upper lip on this side got cut because when they did, like, my nose, I went. I did the horrible mistake of going to, like, another country Where I didn't research it or anything. I went to Ukraine and there was an Iranian doctor there, and he wasn't even like a real doctor. He was basically like a bad person and doing bad things.
Edgar
Wow.
Sebas
The girls he would do surgery on.
Edgar
Just doing it for, like, money. Just.
Josh
Oh, yeah.
Edgar
Lying and stuff.
Sebas
It's like something really deep, but I don't want to get into it. But he would basically, he would even, like, mark the girls, like, on a certain, like, part of their body. And he would sell them. Yeah. And he marked my leg. Like, I have a scar on my leg. Like, here, you see this? Yeah, he did that to me. So it's like, if you did my nose, what are you doing on my leg? You know? But anyways, long story short, he. He cut my nerves because he didn't know what he was doing. Like, he basically cut my nerves because he was, like, probably trying to change my face, which he did. Like, if you look at pictures of me when I was 16 and, like, younger, I don't look like now because he changed my face a lot, but he left me, like, no nose. Like, he made my nose so tiny that I had, like, no nose. Like, on this side, I had, like, no nostril. So when I came back to the US I looked like a monster because my whole face was infected from him, what he did to me. And I had to, like, basically just put up with myself looking like a monster. So I was depressed for a year inside my house. I didn't want to leave my room and I wanted to, like, die because I lived off of my looks and I don't know where I look like a monster. So I hated myself. And then. And I couldn't breathe because I didn't really, like, have a nose. So a year passed by. I finally left my room and I got my nose fixed. They had to build my nose from cartilage from my. Both of my ears.
Edgar
Are you serious?
Sebas
Because I. I didn't have a nose, so it's like they had to build different cartilage and then. But even now, I still can't breathe from this side. But I haven't touched my nose again because I'm scared.
Josh
Yeah, well.
Sebas
But that's how I got the nerve damage.
Edgar
Oh, my God.
Josh
I had a friend that had face process, and his face just drooped like that. And honestly, they don't even know when it's gonna come back.
Edgar
There's no timeline. Does it ever?
Josh
Yeah, it came back. Thankfully.
Sebas
He's good now.
Josh
He's good now, but they don't tell you. Like, is it curable? Yeah.
Sebas
You could take therapy for it.
Edgar
Yeah.
Josh
And.
Sebas
But my mind's not curable because mine was not natural. Mine was caused because of surgery, and they cut my nerves. Nerves. But if it's natural, like, if it comes from stress or for a natural reason. Yeah, it's. It's. You could cure it, but I can't because there's. I even got the surgery where they connect your nerves again. I got nerve reconstruction surgery, and not even with that, I was able to smile again.
Josh
Damn.
Edgar
Did the paralysis happen, like, immediately after the surgery? It was pretty quick. It was, like, back to back.
Sebas
Yeah. Well, I'm telling you, when I woke up, my face was huge because it was, like, infected from everything. Like, he did. And my lip, my. My upper lip was, like, this big. Like, it was huge. And it was because he had, like, messed with it. So I think he tried to give me, like, a lip lift or something, and he cut my nerves.
Edgar
Is this guy still doing surgeries?
Sebas
I'm pretty sure he is. And. And I've talked bad about him and I've mentioned his name, but honestly, I'm scared of him, so I prefer to, like, yeah, talk about him. But, yeah, I mean, I did actually. I didn't even mention his name. My followers found out doing research, because at the time when I was out there in Ukraine, he had my phone, and he would go on my Instagram and upload things in his language. Like, and he's from Iran, so he.
Edgar
Was uploaded on your phone while you.
Sebas
Were on surgery, too.
Josh
Wait, what?
Sebas
Yeah, yeah, to promote himself, to get more girls.
Edgar
And then when you, like, log back in, you saw that. Were you, like, just, like, confused?
Sebas
Like, you know, he erased everything, but.
Edgar
We just did it for the time.
Sebas
But I saw it because all those gossip pages were, like, uploading it, saying that I got hacked and everything. And that's how I saw it, bro.
Josh
What a nightmare.
Sebas
Yeah.
Josh
How long ago was this?
Sebas
I was 19.
Edgar
Oh, my God.
Sebas
That was when I was 19.
Josh
Damn.
Edgar
But you've been able to come out of it, and I feel you, like, even more successful. Just.
Sebas
Yeah. So I thought my life was over when that happened. Honestly, I'm like, yo, I'm so, like, ugly now, and I don't even look the same. And he ruined, like, my beauty, and I can't even smile, and I can't show that I'm happy. So it was really hard on me. But then, little by little, I just had to accept myself and love myself. And this is Me. And I have to, like.
Josh
I'm glad you have that positive mentality.
Sebas
Confident again. So, yeah, I was able to still keep working and still accomplish a lot of things, because from 19 to now, I've still accomplished a lot of things.
Edgar
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sebas
I didn't do the acting like I wanted to, but I've done a lot of other things.
Josh
You know what I just found out that we don't mention our TE's.
Edgar
What?
Josh
Say, say Sacramento.
Edgar
Sacramento. Yeah.
Josh
We don't mention our TE's. Yeah. It's not really our cheat. You don't say Sacramento.
Edgar
Sacramento.
Josh
Sacramento. What's another word we don't say? Ortiz. And that's California, apparently.
Edgar
Wow. Sacramento.
Josh
Say Montana.
Edgar
Montana.
Josh
Montana. In English.
Edgar
Mountain.
Josh
Okay.
Edgar
He said the T. Yeah, Mountain. Mountain. Yeah.
Josh
But mainly people say mountain. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mountain.
Edgar
That's a. There's an.
Josh
I didn't know that. Yeah, you're right.
Edgar
I actually heard this before.
Josh
California say that.
Edgar
Santa Monica.
Josh
That one is true. Yeah. We don't say Santa Monica. It's Santa. It's like Santa. Yeah. From like, Santa Monica.
Edgar
Santa Monica, Yeah.
Josh
You know, you have, like, the best breakfast burritos out here. Cheese, chorizo.
Edgar
Yeah, dude.
Josh
Yeah, bro. Have you been a Javier's and tried the queso dip? I still haven't gone to Javier.
Edgar
No, bro. Oh, we got to go. That's what we.
Josh
Oh, by the way, this is a Javier's plugin. Anybody that works at Javier, I'm plugging you guys in right now. Javier, that. You guys have a lot of locations. Especially there's one in Vegas. Hook us up. Dior wants to go. You're not going to have Dioro at your restaurant. Say you're not.
King
We're the same, but different. We're the same because we had a liver, we have a heart, we have lungs, that. We have blood. We are constituted the same way. The brain has the same parts. Everybody does. So in that sense, we're the same. And. And we can definitely get to an agreement if we open ourselves not to only think the way we think as individuals. But we're getting too deep.
Edgar
Okay.
Josh
Pepe, I have a question for you. And I've been wanting to tell you this for. Since I've met you, which I met you 10 minutes ago musically. Right.
Edgar
Okay.
Josh
You like that?
Edgar
That was a good. That was a good one.
Josh
Don't be using that. All right, later. I'm gonna use it.
King
Of course.
Josh
I met you musically.
Edgar
Oh, wow.
Josh
Yeah. So what I was gonna ask you is one time when I met My wife, I sang to her Directo al corazon, and she. And I got laid because of that. What do you feel about that?
King
I was tmi, but.
Edgar
I didn't even know all that. No.
Josh
How do you feel? I can't be the only one, right?
Edgar
No, no, you're not. You're not. You're not. There are. Yeah.
King
There are people that approach me and say, hey, man, you see that little kid right there? My kid. You're to blame. Holy. Like, really? No, I didn't do anything.
Edgar
I'm innocent. And I. I tell. And then you hit him with a little fist.
Josh
Yeah. So right when you told me you ran out of gas, Redemption time, bro.
Edgar
You came in like Superman, bro.
Josh
I put. I put my. Into the highest gear. I gotta, like a nice. The truck. So I was going over the curve. I was like, anything for my boy.
Edgar
Scratching.
Josh
But in my head, I'm like, I really hope that this gas station sells the. The two gallon little thing or the five gallon, whatever it is, of gas. Gas. So I can put gas in it. Because normally a lot of gas stations don't have it. Of course they did.
Edgar
Thank God.
Josh
Thank God.
Edgar
Yeah.
Josh
So I just put some gas and immediately I. I stopped after this conversation. We did record a video. I'll have Matt chop it up and you can see. Hey, not even gonna lie. It happened to him again, and guess.
Edgar
Not today, bro. These cars suck on gas, bro.
Josh
Hey, I guess I owe you one.
Edgar
I might have done it on purpose. I don't know.
Josh
Thank you so much. Pump your. Pump your. Your pedal. Well, well, well.
Edgar
Okay. Oh, how the turntables have returned. Totally redeemed.
Josh
You picked the hottest day for me to help you.
Edgar
I had to see how if you're really about your. You know what I'm saying?
Josh
It was the hottest day.
Edgar
I had to test it out, bro. I had to see if you're really about it.
Josh
Tell me I'm wrong.
Edgar
Yeah, there you go.
King
There you go.
Josh
There you go.
Edgar
Certified Taylor 5. I just spit everywhere.
Josh
There you go.
Edgar
There you go. We had Shouty on the podcast.
Josh
She was great.
Edgar
Okay. Dude, that is so crazy. I'm so excited for you. Just to see, like, where your, like, career is gonna go.
Josh
Thank you.
Sebas
I am so excited.
Edgar
That's so crazy, dude.
Mel
I can't believe it.
Edgar
Yeah, it's. It's so cool. Do you have 2 million followers on Tick Tock?
Sebas
You do know what a Salvadoran quesadilla looks like, right?
Josh
Yeah, it looks like.
Edgar
Like, yeah, the panada and the. And the cheese. And then it's like a pie.
Josh
Yeah, yeah, it's like a pie.
Edgar
It's like a.
Josh
First of all, that's not a quesadilla. I'm so sorry.
Edgar
That's cheesecake.
Josh
That's. That's. That's cornbread. It's like a buttery pound. That's fine with. Made with cheese. That's fine. But that's not a quesadilla.
Edgar
Can I tell you something? I wouldn't eat that. I would. I'm not. That. That doesn't.
Josh
You're up, bro. Say sorry to all the Salvadorians. I love you.
Edgar
No, this has nothing to do against salvies.
Josh
Yes, it is.
Edgar
Why?
Josh
You just said you wouldn't eat their food. That's up, bro. I would smash smack that. All I'm saying is that's not a quesadilla.
Edgar
That's worse. You're insulting them, saying that.
Josh
That's not insulting.
Edgar
That. That's not real.
Josh
I'm just saying. I'm not saying that's not real. I'm just saying don't call it cornbread.
Edgar
Yours is worse.
Josh
No, you said I wouldn't eat that. Yeah, I would smash that next to another Salvadorian.
Edgar
Which one's worse, guys? Which one's worse?
Josh
Oh, you're.
Edgar
No, that is such a. That's more disrespectful. If somebody came over to your house and you offered them a taco, and then they go, that's not a taco. Versus somebody goes, you know what? I'm okay. I'd rather not eat that. Which was more disrespectful. Thank you.
Josh
No question.
Edgar
No, dude, major. If somebody told you that somebody said that to you that you offered them a taco and they told you, then.
Josh
My question would be, what's a taco to you? Then you know what I mean? Foliage means it'll make it fuller. No foliage just stupid. No foliage just means adding some type. I don't know. Just. You got me confused.
Edgar
I don't even know, but I see what you're saying. Like, you're talking about this stuff right here.
Josh
Yeah, yeah. Well, this. See, this has a little foliage, so that's, like, the green part of it, right? What I mean by. I just use blooms. My arrangements literally look like. Like this. Like, just.
Edgar
And that's expensive.
Josh
And that's expensive. Yes. And a lot of florists would be like, juan, don't you add a little foliage in there? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But no, we like baby breath. Oh, is that a fully baby's breath? I Hate it. It's basic, huh? Yeah. Tell it to the camera. Everybody just heard it from an. From an amazing artist. No, no, here, guys. Don't use. Don't use baby's breath. No, no, no. I guess it's basic.
Edgar
Can you explain what that is?
Josh
So baby's breath.
Edgar
Yeah, I don't know what that is.
Josh
It's foliage. That goes.
Edgar
I figured.
Josh
No, it's a type of. It's a foliage. A foliage. It's a foliage, baby. Right there. What's the history on the saying knock on wood is an AP tradition of literally touching, tapping, or knocking on wood or merely stating that one is doing or intending to do so. Where does it come from? Tempting. Fade up. Never mind. I'm not good at this.
Edgar
We suck at this.
Josh
I'm just good at, like, talking. I'm not good at, like, research.
Edgar
Maybe I can ask Chatgi, like, what.
Josh
Does it mean when, like, somebody says, like, dude, what do you do for a living? And the person says, I'm a researcher. What does that mean to you? It's kind of sick.
Edgar
Yeah, it's kind of sick.
Josh
Like, imagine saying, like, oh, I'm a researcher.
Edgar
Dang.
Josh
Like what?
Edgar
But you know that's, like, super vague, right?
Josh
Yeah, but who are those people? Scientists.
Edgar
It could be. I got it right, bro. He's going to talk to us.
Josh
Glad to meet you.
Edgar
Get started here.
Josh
Why is your Siri British?
Edgar
Because I like to feel very expensive.
Josh
How's it going?
Edgar
Put again, mate yourself. Listen here. What? Where does the expression knock on wood come from? Dare tell. Do tell. Please.
Josh
Knock on wood is an interesting one. It's believed to have originated from ancient pagan cultures like the Celts, who thought the spirits and gods resided in trees. By knocking on wood, they believed they were calling on these spirits for protection or to ward off bad luck.
Edgar
Whoa.
Josh
Over time, this tradition evolved into the superstition we know today. So next time you knock on wood, you're tapping into some ancient tree magic.
Edgar
Yo.
Josh
Wait, hold on. Who the is talking on your phone?
Edgar
Don't worry about my boy like that, bro.
Josh
Change my. I don't like this American Siri.
Edgar
Nah, this is Chat GPT, bro. Bro. Oh, that's just my homie. I just hooked him up to be like, I want when they talk to me. I don't. I need them to feel.
Josh
What app is that?
Edgar
Chat GPT.
Josh
I have that, right?
Edgar
Yeah, but you don't have the settings that I got, boy.
Josh
Yeah, what are your settings?
Edgar
Yo, shout out my boy. I'm currently filming a podcast right now with my boy Sevas. And that was an incredible explanation.
Josh
Thanks, Sevas. I'm here to bring that top tier vibe. If you ever need more explanations or just some exquisite chat, I'm your go to question.
Edgar
Before you. Before you go, before you exit the chat.
Josh
Do I need to be here?
Edgar
What if we just start a podcast? I'm joking. All right. You can never replace Sevas, but you could answer my next question about Saluth. It's an electrolyte drink. It's. They're all Latino flavors and they're all two in one benefits. So it's not only electrolyte. You're also gonna have like an immunity aspect to it as well. We have an energy. One that's energy and focus. And we have a calm and sleep line as well. 10 calories, 1 gram of sugar. Authentic flavors. They taste absolutely incredible. Right now we are in 5, 000 stores nationwide. Let me just tell you, y'all might not be entrepreneurs and understand how hard it is. Yeah. To get in 5,000.
Josh
It's incredible.
Edgar
It's one thing to get in the store.
Josh
Yes. It's a whole nother thing to stay in the store. Yeah. It's incredible.
Edgar
That's the hard part, man. So, yeah. And we're getting more skus in. It's. We're popping mark. Like, we're really. So you have like your own section?
Josh
Oh, yeah. Everything end caps and all that.
Edgar
Yep, we've done end caps, all that and Target and stuff. It's been such a blessing. I want you to try it. We have some flavors here, so this one's going to be our Jamaica flavor, which I don't know. Have you. Are you familiar with like, agua? Frescas are a staple in the Latino culture. Latino community. And so this was our Jamaica. That's going to be our hydration and immunity. It does not. But it mixes beautifully with tequila. Yeah.
Josh
You want to drink that after a big tequila, Right?
Edgar
It's actually good. It's good. Sa.
Josh
Okay. All right. Do that one more time.
Edgar
Yeah.
Josh
Looks cool. Popular. I'll help you be popular.
