Natalia Gutierrez
What's up? I've got a commercial opportunity for you from Buzz Balls.
Josh Leva
Ready to go. Cocktails. Nice. My last name is Ball. The product is a cocktail in a ball. I get it.
Natalia Gutierrez
That's what I thought, too.
Josh Leva
But no, they want you for your hands. They think your big hands will show.
Natalia Gutierrez
Off the size of their new blue biggies. Ball.
Josh Leva
Big blue balls. Really? Get blue balls this season with Buzz Balls, please, you're responsibly. Buzz Balls. Available in spirit, wine and Malt 15 Alco Bavo and Bus Balls LLC.
Natalia Gutierrez
Carrollton, Texas Guys, this video is by the One Only Seeking and I, I, I, I can't talk about it enough because it's finally here. It's finally here and we're gonna go. We're gonna go game one, game one, game two, Dodger game, Dodgers.
Josh Leva
And you think we're not gonna use SE Geek? Are you good, bro? You good? Because we're using SeatGeek. And did we use the code LA 2025?
Natalia Gutierrez
Of course.
Josh Leva
Well, I didn't because I didn't pay for it.
Natalia Gutierrez
Guys, we use SE Geek. Like not only just for Dodgers, for everything. I just saw recently that Vicente Fernandez is going to be at one of the November. I already got my ticket using se.
Josh Leva
If you have an artist that you want to see, check SeatGeek. There's a high chance that they might be on tour, right? And if not, I'm pretty sure you can find something else to do. Se has over 75,000 live events. Okay. 25. 28 million downloads. Sorry, way more than I thought. They're the number one rated ticketing app on the app store.
Natalia Gutierrez
It's super easy. And like Josh said, La Platica 2025 for 10% off your SeatGeek tickets. Just like that. And guys, La Platica 2025 to get 10% off your next tickets. And just like that. And we said it last year, too, it's Dodger season. Which means if they see us. Yeah, if they see us and you show me that you're using se.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
I'm buying you a Chi.
Josh Leva
We need to see proof of funds.
Natalia Gutierrez
I'm buying you a Cheloski.
Josh Leva
Are you going to drink one too?
Natalia Gutierrez
Have a couple.
Josh Leva
Anyways, guys, hope you enjoy this episode and we will see you in 12.4 seconds. Hit it, Matt.
Natalia Gutierrez
I'm gonna use it.
Sebastian Robles
Let me be honest.
Natalia Gutierrez
Every guest is a privilege.
Josh Leva
Do we want to go there?
Natalia Gutierrez
It's jolly.
Matt
Cause I'm on a podcast with Josh Laver.
Josh Leva
Yeah, you have too.
Natalia Gutierrez
Ladies and gentlemen, let me just tell you.
Josh Leva
Is this 188?
Sebastian Robles
Yes.
Josh Leva
Oh, nice.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. What were you saying, Natalia?
Josh Leva
You about to talk your girl. Go ahead. I was like, make sure we're recording. Hit the little red button.
Natalia Gutierrez
Red button's leaking.
Matt
Men will be so loyal to their barbers. But cheat on their girls. Like, they will never cheat on their barber cuz they know they'll get it.
Josh Leva
Wow.
Matt
And cheat on their girl.
Josh Leva
Wow. You know what? I'm kind of the opposite. I am like disloyal to my barber, but the most loyal to my girl. So I, I'll, I, I'll try different barbers.
Matt
Okay, but do they, do they treat you differently because you go to multiple people? Like when you go back to the bedroom?
Josh Leva
That's a good question. A little bit. I do feel a little bit. Yeah.
Matt
You're not my regular.
Josh Leva
Yeah. I recently just went back to a barber I've had for a time that I haven't seen in like two years, and I felt a little bit of tension. I literally. He was like simping. I was like, yeah, we good? Like, are we good before you're gonna continue this fade?
Natalia Gutierrez
We good?
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
But, but, but somebody like myself who's been in the space, like in the beauty space, like that.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
You just end up being like, you're just like that one client to them. You're also to them. You're like, well, whatever client. Like you come and he spends his money.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
And I'll see him every blue moon. He's like what we call a hopper.
Josh Leva
So you. I have. I'm in a category.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, you're in a category for those barbers.
Josh Leva
That makes sense. So you're saying you're consistent people you.
Natalia Gutierrez
Like, you're going to be cool with them, but like, like, said, said the punch. Don't call them.
Josh Leva
No, no, no, no. Yeah. I wouldn't call my barber or you anyways. Wow.
Natalia Gutierrez
I redeemed myself. That's another story. I don't even want to talk about that anymore. Please don't bring it up.
Josh Leva
I'm joking. It was like an Inside bit thing that we, like, had live on the podcast that was. It turned into, like, a big old deal.
Natalia Gutierrez
It was all over Tik Tok.
Josh Leva
It's crazy. I'll just tell you real quick. I ran out of gas one time and I called him to help me out, and he refused to help me out. He kind of, like, denied. I feel like I've heard of this all over. So we played this game where, like, you get to be vulnerable. You get asked these, like, hard hitting questions. And that one of the questions was like, have you. Have I ever done anything to hurt you? So I brought up that moment. Dude.
Matt
So fish.
Josh Leva
Yeah. No.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, my God.
Josh Leva
Oh, I love that response of yours. Oh, my God. So we had this moment and honestly, it wasn't a big deal. If anything, before anything else, I was just podcasting. I was just trying to create a moment out of something. Long story short, it went viral on TikTok. People were like, picking it up and stuff and then not even joking. Like, a week later, after that podcast went out, I ran out of gas again. And this fool came to save the day.
Matt
Okay. He redeemed himself.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. Hey, everybody. Everyone's recording this, right?
Josh Leva
Yeah, we had like eight angles. He was like, yeah, everybody saw the.
Natalia Gutierrez
Sound effects and everything. Anyways, welcome, everybody, to La Platica. Guess what? It's another Monday, Hashtag Mondays, don't suck. For everybody who bought the Sasson Studios merch, thank you very much. I see the pictures. You guys look fabulous. The Josh Leva, Sebastian Robles.
Josh Leva
That was a double salute I was doing. Is that. Is that okay?
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, no, you look good. Notifications on subscribe to the channel La Platica and also subscribe Sasson Studios, where now we have original content, baby. Content that you're not gonna see here. You're not gonna see. I was gonna say over there, but yeah, over there. You're gonna see it over there at Sasson Studios. And this is the number one Latino podcast in the world according to Google. Google.
Josh Leva
I've never said it.
Natalia Gutierrez
I never said it either. Yeah. Thank you, Google. Once again, this is La Platica. This episode is also sponsored by our good homies over at SeatGeek, number one rated ticketing app on the app store. I talked a lot. Take a breath. And today we have. Today we have. If already you guys already know who's here, but let me give her an introduction. Natalia is here in the building. An amazing content creator, an amazing chef, daughter, good friend, and currently now on, I just had it. Next level, Chef.
Matt
Yes.
Josh Leva
Season Four. Right.
Natalia Gutierrez
Which is a huge. Congratulations. That's huge.
Josh Leva
That's massive.
Natalia Gutierrez
How do you even feel? I, you know, I'm looking at you guys right now on the camera, but I asked and I thought, oh, you know, like, are you nervous? And I was like, wait, the. Why would she be nervous? She's on an actual show.
Josh Leva
So I will say she's one of the most, like, calm and collective guests that we've had. Come on.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. She's straight up.
Josh Leva
There's always a little bit of nerves coming into a podcast. A lot of the guests that we have come on, we're meeting them for the first time. So it's a little bit of a, you know, it just takes a little moment to, like, settle in. But you came in, you were like, what's up?
Natalia Gutierrez
No big deal.
Josh Leva
Taking off your earrings, kicking off your shoes. I was like, I don't know if.
Natalia Gutierrez
You noticed this, but she walked in and she put her gum underneath the table. You guys have a freaking clear table.
Josh Leva
I know. That's why I was like.
Matt
You gotta come in like that.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
How are you?
Matt
I'm doing great.
Natalia Gutierrez
Thanks for coming in. I know behind the scenes, a lot of people don't know this, but we've been trying to get her on for quite a couple months now.
Josh Leva
It's been finally here. Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. So thank you so much. We appreciate that.
Matt
Honored. Thank you.
Natalia Gutierrez
How's everything? How's life? I know. I want to talk about the show. How does that feel? Did. Did you see that in your bingo card this year? Like, talk to us.
Matt
Well, I actually shot the show last January.
Josh Leva
Oh, yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, yeah.
Josh Leva
That makes sense.
Matt
So everything's pre recorded now, but watching it post, like, year, how is that? It's an insane, like, feeling just because. And I think it's an insane feeling just because it's with Gordon Ramsay.
Josh Leva
That's crazy.
Matt
I think Gordon Ramsay is, like, the most famous chef in the world by far. I think everyone knows him. He's such a household name. So to be able to be in his presence, to be able to say that he knows who I am, is, like, one of the greatest accomplishments of my life.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Matt
There are some moments that are, like, kind of cringy, but, you know, what do you mean?
Natalia Gutierrez
Like, like on your part?
Matt
Yeah, like. No, no, no. Like on the show. You know when you have interviews and there's drama and you don't even remember what you say? You're blacked out half the time, you're running on adrenaline, you're working 12 hours a day. On set, like, it's insane.
Josh Leva
But are the producers, like, feeding you lines in any way or is this all, like, you're just going off of pure emotion?
Matt
There's definitely things that they can say to try to make you, like, react for sure. But I definitely try to keep my. And like.
Josh Leva
So you shot the show in January? Didn't get to see the show at all until it came out.
Matt
Until it came out. We didn't get any previews, nothing. And we shot it in Ireland, so we were in a completely different country.
Josh Leva
Was that your first time?
Matt
First time? Yeah. 11 hour flight from LA. It was crazy.
Josh Leva
Wow. Did you have a Guinness?
Matt
I did, I did. As soon as I got to the hotel, I'm like, give me a Guinness.
Josh Leva
Okay. I've never had it. I've made this, like, pack to myself that I'm gonna try it for the first time.
Natalia Gutierrez
Is it. It's a stout, right? Yeah. Have you had a stout before?
Josh Leva
I've had a stout before and I'm not the saying if I'm.
Natalia Gutierrez
You're not going to like it then.
Josh Leva
But I'm. Don't say that, dude. Yeah. I love beer.
Natalia Gutierrez
Super beer. Yeah.
Matt
What's your beer preference?
Josh Leva
Like? I guess it's like a lager. Like a Pacifico is like, probably like my favoriteo.
Matt
You're so Mexican. I.
Natalia Gutierrez
If. If there was one that, like, I had to pick and like, the Oito was like, full Modelo. I don't. He wouldn't say full, but it was like full. Like the.
Josh Leva
The.
Natalia Gutierrez
The only beer for Vida. I would have to say Stella Artois.
Josh Leva
The only beer. Port Villa.
Matt
Stella.
Natalia Gutierrez
Stella Artois. I really like Stella. Is that okay?
Josh Leva
You're so not Mexican, bro.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leva
Yeah. What's your beer of choice? Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, sorry. What's your beer?
Matt
I love Modelo Negras.
Josh Leva
Okay.
Natalia Gutierrez
Okay.
Matt
That's great choice if I want to be like my Mexican parties.
Natalia Gutierrez
Great choice.
Josh Leva
But if you get one beer, I.
Matt
Would have to do the Voodoo Rangers.
Josh Leva
What? Those are strong.
Natalia Gutierrez
We used to have a shitload here.
Matt
We still do, but only the orange one with the guy. The orange cased one? Yeah, the Juice Force. I think that's okay.
Josh Leva
Okay. Yeah, they're pretty good.
Natalia Gutierrez
They're IPAs.
Matt
No, they're IPAs.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. You know what the acronym for IPA is? Josh Labor.
Josh Leva
It's like Indian Pacific.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
No, I don't.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, you don't.
Josh Leva
Wow.
Natalia Gutierrez
Both of you guys are gonna get taught something by Sebas. I love this.
Josh Leva
This is what I like. You know? What's he really does.
Natalia Gutierrez
Go ahead. I'm a man. I'm a man of recognition.
Matt
I can feel it oozing out of his body.
Josh Leva
As soon as he's. He's already thinking, like, how can I clip this on socials? Because I'm. This is. This is something I'm going to clip.
Natalia Gutierrez
Indian Pale. I don't know why.
Josh Leva
First of all, it's Pale Ale, not pale.
Natalia Gutierrez
But when you're. You say it like that.
Josh Leva
Indian Pale.
Natalia Gutierrez
I say Indian Pale.
Josh Leva
Wow.
Natalia Gutierrez
Juice was. I didn't think you were gonna say that. Yeah. I mean, I've had all the beers in the world. I think so. But there's a thing with Guinness that I don't know if they made you do this. I think it's actually when you split the G, it's when you have your first Guinness.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
They have to give it to you in a. In a Guinness cup, which is called the Chalice. Or is that just Stella Artois? I don't know. I'm a beer guy, so. So what you do is there. It says on the.
Josh Leva
You didn't do this.
Matt
I mean, they gave it to me in a Guinness.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
So the first thing that you do is Telodan. You weigh. You know, it's all.
Josh Leva
Yeah. Like a waterfall that's splitting the G right there.
Natalia Gutierrez
So you. So in order to win the game and like, for. For. I don't know what it is. I don't know if it's for good luck.
Josh Leva
It's like tradition. It's just like a cultural thing.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. So what you do is. And you have to, like, guess when you. You should be done. So when you put it down on first try.
Matt
Splits. I've never even heard of that. Look at.
Josh Leva
That's kind of crazy that they didn't tell you about it.
Matt
No, they didn't.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. So how's Ireland? How's the Mexican girl in Ireland?
Matt
I love Ireland. It's so beautiful. Everyone's accents are amazing. They love to drink. They just have, like a potty mouth like these.
Natalia Gutierrez
Really?
Matt
Yeah. They'll just be crazy. Yeah, yeah. It was. It was a great time. Everyone there was super helpful. All of the producers, makeup artists, hairstylists, they were all from Ireland.
Josh Leva
I was trying to think of, like, the Ireland accent. How does it go? It's like. Like, bloody hell. I feel like they throw around a lot.
Natalia Gutierrez
That's Australian.
Josh Leva
I think you gotta split the G. You can't.
Natalia Gutierrez
I'll take it.
Matt
I think that's more England.
Natalia Gutierrez
I'll take it. I'll Take it. So obviously like you're shooting and stuff like that. Did you have a lot of free time? I mean, I know you just said 12 hours, like a day. So not a lot of free time.
Matt
No. So we, we all get flown out from wherever we're from. We're like guided to this hotel room and you're not allowed to talk to each other at all. So we're all.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, my God. Well, it makes sense.
Matt
We're all in a group together.
Josh Leva
Competition. It's true. Competition.
Matt
Yeah. But it's like to avoid alliances.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. Camaraderie.
Matt
Come close to anyone. But it's very like, it almost felt like covet again where it's like, keep a 6ft distance, don't talk to anyone.
Natalia Gutierrez
And you went by yourself.
Matt
I went by myself.
Josh Leva
If you wanted to like leave the room, you had to like phone the producer to go walk you, to walk.
Matt
You to the, to the bar, to walk you to the gym and like all that stuff. So they. But it's also like a liability thing. Like if someone's too shit faced or if someone falls or something. It's all in the producers and then it like, it'll ruin the show.
Josh Leva
100.
Matt
Yeah. Because everyone's needs their spot.
Josh Leva
I had auditioned for like Love island in like 2019 and they put. I didn't. They put me in a hotel and they had to do that. So I got that experience.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leva
Which is pretty crazy. How did you audition for the show?
Matt
I didn't. I didn't. So someone reached out to me and I thought it was a scam and I was like, there's no way this is real.
Natalia Gutierrez
And that's when, you know, it's like.
Josh Leva
Yeah. Oh.
Matt
But I think at the time, I think at the time when this, this opportunity was presented to me, I think I had like 60, 000 followers. And I was like, barely get into the rhythm of Instagram and like my cooking and stuff. And I was working for a surgeon at the time and I was doing his social media and I think the whole process, it took like three months to find out if I got accepted. And then I finally got accepted because they do like a thorough background check, make sure you're not a serial killer, all that kind of stuff. And then did you have to take.
Josh Leva
Out like a psychology test as well?
Matt
You do speak to a psychologist. Yeah, a doctor.
Josh Leva
Yeah, bro. It's pretty. I had to take a super intensive test. They ask you like crazy questions.
Natalia Gutierrez
Weird that all back in the states.
Matt
I did that here. Yeah. I was all like, through zoom.
Josh Leva
And they ask you the same question, like, in different.
Matt
Yeah, yeah.
Josh Leva
To see how you answer it. Yeah, it's really interesting.
Natalia Gutierrez
Well, I've never been on a reality. Reality.
Josh Leva
We can tell you'll get any.
Matt
I'm so sorry.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, cool. So obviously, be Mexican, too. In Ireland, did you bring your own hot sauce and salsa or, like, what?
Josh Leva
You can make it, bro.
Natalia Gutierrez
You have to, right?
Matt
No, I did bring my own snacks because in Ireland, they do not have anything Mexican at all.
Natalia Gutierrez
Like.
Matt
Yeah, you have to bring your own hot. Top it. Like, I will say the food was very bland. They ate a lot of steak and potatoes, a lot of, like, tomato stews and stuff. Pero sinsal. Like, please add some sasson to this.
Josh Leva
Did you. You have an amazing personality and very confident. Were you as confident going into the show as you are, like, right now?
Matt
Yeah. I was the only Latina on the show, by the way, so. Representing me. Yeah.
Josh Leva
Wow.
Matt
How cool. Everyone else was from different ethnicities, but I. I don't know. I feel like internally I'm freaking out, and I'm like, okay, like, this, this, and this, and this and this can go wrong. But then there's something that just, like, switches, and you're like, just like. I had a history teacher that says, fake it until you make it right. So always, like, just go in there and, like, be confident, even if you don't feel like it.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
And I kept my cool, and I did not cry. I think the entire time that I was there and everybody was like, like, anxiety. Because you have a lot of anxiety, but you just have to learn how to, like, channel it and be like, just go. Because it's an opportunity of a lifetime. Like, if I crumble while I'm there, I'm screwed just because of how much anxiety I have or how much I'm overthinking.
Natalia Gutierrez
Even, like, back at the hotel and then at the show, too, you're just constantly thinking, yeah.
Matt
And they hit you with curveballs. Like, it's not like, oh, wow. Like, I think people love consistency and everything being the same, and you're like, okay, I know what's gonna happen. But then things change, and you're like. You just. You just have to pivot. You have to pivot and be like, all right, this is what we're doing. All right. It, like, wow. Yeah, that's.
Josh Leva
Yeah. I mean, it's entertainment, right? They got to make it entertaining for the audience. I mean, they're not trying to make it convenient for you.
Matt
Of course. Course. Of course. But I'm thankful that this show, especially Gordon, because Gordon's known for being cutthroat and being an. And calling people idiot sandwiches. And I want one the lamb sauce. But I had the privilege of him actually being a mentor and being positive and actually helping you. I cannot imagine all the other contestants on, like, Hell's Kitchen, like, getting verbally abused like that.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Matt
And they do have you speaking to therapists afterwards.
Josh Leva
Oh, I believe it.
Matt
Right after. Just to make sure that you're okay. Because it is for dramatic purposes. So I think this show shows exactly how it was. Like, truly, there was no extra, like, bs. Like, he wasn't just mean on purpose. Like, he was actually helpful.
Natalia Gutierrez
Wow. So the show, it's still going on right now?
Matt
It's still airing. I'm still on the show.
Natalia Gutierrez
So it's airing on Disney plus.
Matt
No.
Josh Leva
Hulu.
Matt
Hulu, Hulu and Fox. So Fox every Thursday at 8pm and Hulu the following day.
Josh Leva
And obviously you know the outcome.
Matt
Yes.
Natalia Gutierrez
So do you have, like, viewing parties at your house and stuff?
Matt
No, I didn't.
Natalia Gutierrez
No. I would have, like, yo, come over, come over now.
Matt
Listen, I cook every single day or almost every single day. I do not want people at my house for me to have to serve them more. Like, I'm tired. I get tired.
Josh Leva
I have a question. So you think about food every single day and.
Natalia Gutierrez
Because.
Josh Leva
Same. So, but do you. Like, how is. How do you think about food? Because when I think about. Yes, yes.
Matt
What's your thought process with food?
Josh Leva
I'm hungry.
Matt
But like. Okay, guys.
Josh Leva
Okay.
Matt
No, no, but this is. Okay. I just realized this the other day. Guys are very different depending on your fitness goals.
Josh Leva
That's what I was gonna say. Yeah.
Matt
To consume calories and to reach, like, their protein goals or their carb goals. Yeah, I don't. I don't think of it like that at all.
Josh Leva
That's exactly how I think about it. For me, it's purely performance. Right. Like, what's going to get me the best outcome? I have macros that I have to hit, like, 250 grams of protein. Blah, blah. That's the way I eat.
Matt
Can we help you?
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
Yes.
Natalia Gutierrez
The way I think about food. Is it okay if I. If I put my two cents.
Josh Leva
Go ahead.
Natalia Gutierrez
The way I think about food is, like, if I want to eat something in the morning, I just really, like, close my eyes and I go back into time. Right. And I'm like, damn, where was I that one day when I had those webitos? And then I go back into Time and, like, say, I was at my grandma's house, you know, I just really.
Josh Leva
You're still talking, bro. What?
Natalia Gutierrez
You're still talking. You see what I have to deal with? What? I can't even be myself. Talk about something. I'm passionate.
Josh Leva
What are we talking about?
Matt
Okay. Your huevitos. Yeah, you were talking.
Josh Leva
Okay.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. So, like, when I cook, I put myself in this place and I close my eyes. Not when I cook, but I close my eyes. I'm like, okay, I'm there now. And things just really come to mind because I don't know any recipes like that.
Josh Leva
That.
Natalia Gutierrez
But then I cook, and then when I eat, I'm there.
Matt
You're talking. You're saying you put yourself in a state of nostalgia.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yes.
Matt
Of when you had that food. Whatever you're craving.
Josh Leva
See how quick she got to the point?
Natalia Gutierrez
She's a professional.
Josh Leva
Everything you said in 45, she's a professional. Okay.
Matt
Anyways, anywho, I don't. I don't view food that way.
Josh Leva
You do it like ratatouille. Like, it's just the senses, the taste.
Sebastian Robles
Yes.
Josh Leva
Like the pears.
Matt
Like, pairing flavors together and then creating something depending if you want it. Like, light, refreshing, heavy carby. You want traditional flavors. You want to go ethnic. And I think about it all, like, as soon as we have breakfast, I'm like, okay, what are we doing for lunch? Like, what's that?
Josh Leva
But not because you're hungry. It's just like. That's like an art form or like an expression, but it's also, like a privilege.
Matt
Right? It's a privilege to be able to have so many different kinds of food throughout your day. Like, not just the same thing, especially being someone that cooks. So I think it's such a privilege, but it's honestly to indulge. Every time I'm with a guy or with guy friends or whatever, I like. They, like. You guys have this thing where you guys just shove so much food in your mouth and you guys look like chipmunks just eating your food. And I'm like, the food's not going to go anywhere. Like. Like, chill out.
Josh Leva
I eat so fast.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
And I drink really fast, too.
Natalia Gutierrez
We're different. We're different animals, man.
Matt
Like, okay, have you guys gone to a fancy restaurant where you're, like, trying.
Josh Leva
To take your time?
Matt
Take your time?
Josh Leva
Yeah, it's. It's hard.
Natalia Gutierrez
No, no, no.
Josh Leva
It's hard. It's hard.
Natalia Gutierrez
I mean, I'll try, but why?
Matt
Like, I don't understand.
Josh Leva
I have this fear that the Food is not going to be as good if I wait longer. Like, I like it hot and fresh and I just want to, like, eat it all.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, right? Then it's just like. I don't know, I just think about as, like. Like, like, girls are like, really cute.
Matt
Like, shitsu guys are not cute.
Natalia Gutierrez
And we're like, like, you know, we're cute, but we're like. We're like rottweilers. And that's how we eat. You know, it's just different species. And my wife. My wife gets at me all the time like, hey, breathe. Slow down, slow down. Like, enjoy your food. And I'm like, oh, my God, you're right. Yeah, I catch myself, bro.
Josh Leva
I'm like eating my plate of food before I even sit down to the table. I'm like, oh, my God. Yeah. So have you been like, did you, like, grow up and you just, like, knew you had.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. Where did all this come from? Yeah, somebody.
Matt
So I. I learned how to cook forcefully. I have three brothers and I'm the only girl out of all of them. So my mom had us back to. Back to back to back. And she was a typical Mexican mom. She's like, yon, like, you need to help me. You're the girl. Like these. These boys are like, crazy. And then my dad was a truck driver, or he still is.
Natalia Gutierrez
And he's gone a lot, right?
Matt
Yeah, he'd be gone and he'd wake up at 4 or 5 in the morning, and instead of my mom waking up to make him his cafe and like, his.
Josh Leva
He'd wake you up?
Matt
She'd wake me up.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, she'd wake you up?
Matt
Yeah. And she'd be like. Like, it was a responsibility of mine. And I was nine at the time. I was like a baby. So then I just like, learned and cooked there. And she would force me. She would be like, oh, my mom has never served me a plate of food in her life. She's like, like, you're. You're independent.
Josh Leva
But she would serve your brothers.
Matt
But she would serve my brothers. Yeah, and I think that's like, that's pretty common. That's a typical, like, you know, kind of like man chista way of like growing up and stuff like that. So we were also super poor. And I would watch the food channel on the regular. Like, it was not cable.
Josh Leva
It was like, yeah, just like regular television.
Matt
Regular television, yeah. Yeah. And so I would dream of like, this food because we would eat a lot of frijoles, a lot of quesadillas, a lot of sandwiches. I would dream of, like, the food that I would see on tv. And that's when I saw Gordon and, like, simply Ming and Emeril live and all of those, like, older. I love Emerald Life or even, like, Julia Child, like, those older cucks that were on television. And I think that's where, like, my appreciation for food came. And then I was like, one day I'll be able to try. Like, I didn't know what truffles were. I was like, what does that taste like?
Natalia Gutierrez
Is that a dance?
Matt
I was like, one day I'll be able to try this food. And so I, I, that's how everything started.
Josh Leva
That's crazy. Wow.
Natalia Gutierrez
Wow. And you really, like, started to really love it. But what about recipes?
Matt
No, but it didn't happen that way. Like, I. I cooked. I've cooked throughout my whole life. But I had regular jobs, you know, I had. Right. So this, this is still new. I've only been doing this for two years. I was gonna ask professionally, I guess professionally, yeah. And being on a show and doing caterings and private dinners and doing it for social media. I went through, like, the most traumatic experience with a guy or, like, my old boss that was in the entertainment industry. And I was a young single mother working, trying to make a living. And it was, like, the most toxic work environment, like, that you can think of. And it's like, you get. You get the experience of, like, men being in power and abusing their power. And so it was a terrible experience. And I forcefully had to quit. I was like, I never want to do this ever again. And I started thinking, like, what am I going to do? Like, none of these jobs are working out for me. Working for these private, like, companies, like, they just don't make me happy, even though that's how you pay the bills. And I quit. And I, like, hated men for a long time. And I was like, I don't want to be seen. I don't. I don't want anyone to think I'm pretty. Like, I just completely lost it. I was like, I think at the worst time of my life, unemployed, like, didn't know what my purpose in life was at that point. And I spoke to my life coach, and she asked me, she was like, if you can do something for the rest of your life, and it had nothing to do with money, what would you do? And I said. I took a pause, and I was like, cooking is the only thing that makes me happy. And she said that I had the biggest smile on my face. And she's like, that's what you need to be doing. And so then I started making content, like, just with my phone, my iPhone. And I was like, fuck it. I see lovoy. I said, however it comes, like. And I had the worst editing because I always made excuses. This is something I've always wanted to do and I made excuses. I'm like, I don't have the lighting, I don't have the cameras. I don't have the editing skills. I don't have anything. And then a month into making content, I got a viral video with my dad making horchata. Okay. And then I got 10,000 followers from that one video. And that kind of jump started everything. So, you know, I always say now how lucky am I that things didn't go my way as a redirection of my purpose in life? So obviously I don't wish that upon anyone, but that was. It came out of trauma, unfortunately. And here we are now.
Josh Leva
That's kind of crazy. That's crazy how like life works in that manner.
Natalia Gutierrez
Damn. Wow. While you were like saying all that, I was like this. Wow, that's incredible.
Matt
Yeah, thank you.
Natalia Gutierrez
Know what I mean?
Matt
Under pressure. Under pressure. Under pressure.
Natalia Gutierrez
Wow. I was gonna ask you. Yeah. So you've. I feel like you've only been doing it for quite some time, right. Because I was just telling her before we were recording. So I feel like I always see you on my feed, like, like the cooking videos and stuff like that. What's your day to day right now? Like, do you have like your videos planned out? Do you like. Because cooking is different too, because like, you, you don't have like all the ingredients at your house.
Matt
No, right?
Natalia Gutierrez
Like, no. Like, do you plan out these videos?
Matt
Yeah. Yeah. So.
Natalia Gutierrez
And you've gotten a lot better, right, with like editing clearly, or.
Matt
I just know what people want to see my content. Like everyone, you know, people have great editing skills and there's like ASMR cooking videos and people do like really top notch, like, videos. But I do it the way that it works for me. I'll just be like inspired. I'll be like, I'm really craving this. Or I'm really craving that. How can I make this? Or if I see a movie, like this song goes perfect with like what I'm trying to create. So I get a lot of inspo from music from movies or from even like trending like bits like sounds where I'm like, oh, this would be so funny. And then I plan out my week. I write it on my whiteboard all of the dishes that I want to make, and then I go to the store, and then I do everything. Okay. So I do the shopping, I do the putting away.
Natalia Gutierrez
That's what I'm saying. With cooking, it's different. It's like a whole thing.
Matt
The cooking. I do the filming all by myself, and then I clean everything up, and then I edit it, and then I post it, and then I post it on all the channels. And so it's like a one cook.
Natalia Gutierrez
Some more, and then you do it.
Matt
Again, and then I do it again the next day. That's crazy. It's. It's honestly very time consuming. But I'm fortunate. I don't think I can ever complain about something like that.
Josh Leva
Do you have a specific cuisine that you like, specialize in or that you enjoy cooking?
Matt
Mexican.
Natalia Gutierrez
Which is. Which is top tier cuisine?
Josh Leva
That is top tier cuisine.
Matt
Honestly, I'm not gonna lie. I've had a lot of cuisines on my life, and I think Mexican takes the cake.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. I would have to say this.
Josh Leva
That's a. That's crazy for you to say, because you really have probably and cooked your own cuisines and you just ultimately say Mexicans, top tier.
Matt
Yep.
Natalia Gutierrez
Is it because you like spicy food a lot?
Matt
I love spicy food. Also, Gordon Ramsay loves my salsa.
Natalia Gutierrez
Just really? That's a flex verde or roja or what is it?
Matt
I made him a ribeye. I'm also the grilling queen. Okay.
Josh Leva
Like, wow.
Matt
I grilled on the sauce.
Natalia Gutierrez
Nice little sear.
Matt
Nice little grill marks.
Natalia Gutierrez
Nice little rub on that sear.
Matt
Do you hear this?
Josh Leva
I just ignore them all the time.
Natalia Gutierrez
But, yeah, that's so cool. Dang.
Josh Leva
Are you talking about Gordon Ramsay enjoying your red salsa? And you did. You did, like, a steak with, like, a salsa on top of it. So you did almost like.
Matt
I did a steak. I won best dish on that episode.
Josh Leva
Oh. So is he the judge? Is he, like, the only judge?
Matt
No, there's three.
Josh Leva
There's three.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leva
Okay. I've. I have.
Matt
Josh, I know you haven't watched.
Josh Leva
I haven't watched it, but I've seen clips.
Matt
Wow.
Josh Leva
He hasn't watched it either.
Natalia Gutierrez
My question to you is. And that's what I was about to say right now before we go on break. We're about to go on break. I feel like you're the perfect person to ask this, because I want to put it like, I like to ask people this, and I want people back at home to also comment as well. Down below. What's more top tier, salsa roja or salsa Verde.

Natalia Gutierrez
Meghan Trainor Laundry retrainer.
Matt
Meghan Trainor. You're tossing out my gunky laundry detergent bottle.
Natalia Gutierrez
It's got that booty, that juicy boom boom that go right alive.
Matt
Arm and hammer power sheets. Toss like this.
Natalia Gutierrez
Cause I toss like this.
Josh Leva
I wash like this. It's a no mess laundry blitz.
Natalia Gutierrez
Arm and hammer power sheets. More power to you.
Matt
For what?
Natalia Gutierrez
I don't know. I can say like a steak. I can say. Okay, let's just say tacos. Yeah. And trust me, I'm the guy that puts both.
Matt
Okay.
Natalia Gutierrez
And if there's like guacamole, a spicy sauce, I'm putting that too. If there's one that say that, I'm putting all of them. But if you can only pick one.
Matt
But why can't you pick both?
Natalia Gutierrez
Because I, I, I have a thing and you know. Okay.
Matt
If we're doing tacos. If we're saying tacos.
Natalia Gutierrez
Sure.
Matt
Verde.
Natalia Gutierrez
Wow. Okay.
Josh Leva
That's the right answer, by the way.
Natalia Gutierrez
Really?
Josh Leva
You passed. Okay.
Natalia Gutierrez
Think red is top. The top of the top. Green.
Josh Leva
Green is top tier for me.
Matt
But enchiladas, red or green?
Natalia Gutierrez
Red. I choose red all the time.
Josh Leva
I still go green.
Matt
I like green. I, I have the best green enchiladas.
Natalia Gutierrez
Really?
Matt
Oh, you know what? I was going to bring you, but maybe for another time. My A.A. fresca.
Josh Leva
Oh.
Matt
That I want you to get inspo from. Okay, but with me. Okay.
Josh Leva
Don't be. Is it like a specific flavor or is this the way you make it?
Matt
It, it's a specific flavor that I don't think I'm intrigued. That I don't think anyone has ever thought of.
Natalia Gutierrez
So don't say it now you're going to give it away.
Matt
No, no, no, it's okay. Nobody knows how to make it.
Natalia Gutierrez
O.
Matt
It's a noal and tomatillo agua fresca.
Natalia Gutierrez
Whoa.
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Wow.
Matt
Yeah, I know.
Natalia Gutierrez
I don't think I've ever tasted that.
Matt
When you think of that, you think it would be disgusting.
Josh Leva
Cuz I'm going to be honest with you. Yeah. That didn't intrigue me immediately.
Matt
Okay, but think of pepino. Pepino has the same kind of like profile. It's green. It's bland.
Josh Leva
But it's also a fruit.
Matt
Peppino. Yes. But we're doing vegetables.
Josh Leva
Okay. Okay.
Matt
But it's.
Josh Leva
I'm intrigued.
Matt
So good.
Josh Leva
I'll try anything.
Matt
Okay, good.
Josh Leva
And I'm open to it.
Matt
Okay, good.
Josh Leva
And it's sweet.
Matt
It's sweet and tangy.
Natalia Gutierrez
Wow.
Matt
Everything good.
Josh Leva
I could imagine that's a flavor.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
Interesting.
Natalia Gutierrez
I'm intrigued. I love nopales.
Josh Leva
I do too. Especially with my eggs.
Matt
That's good. A lot of people don't like.
Josh Leva
I love nobody.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. Because they're all babosos.
Josh Leva
And I think it's like a texture.
Natalia Gutierrez
That's the word.
Josh Leva
Right?
Natalia Gutierrez
It's a funny ass word, though. Right. Remember that thing I want to do when I slide into the camera and I say funny word of the day? No palace.
Josh Leva
What happened with that idea? Sorry.
Natalia Gutierrez
No palace.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
I haven't done it yet. I'm scared. We'll be right back.
Matt
Yes.
Natalia Gutierrez
On the show. We'll be right back. See you guys. One thing that I realized is just because I'm not drinking doesn't mean nobody else should drink.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Right.
Josh Leva
When we first started the podcast, we would drink pretty much like, every episode. And then it became a thing that our guests just expected us to, like, drink, and it just became, like, too much. So we were like, we gotta, like, chill out, bro.
Natalia Gutierrez
I lost like 10 pounds just not drinking. All inflammation.
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
I also did, like, like the marathon too, which you lose like five pounds that day. Like seven pounds.
Matt
That was like 3,000 calories burned that day.
Josh Leva
Have you ever ran a marathon?
Matt
Hell, no. No.
Josh Leva
Do you work out?
Matt
I do.
Josh Leva
What. What kind of, like, workouts do you enjoy doing?
Matt
I do. I've done it all. I think I did boxing. I do weight training. I do Pilates.
Josh Leva
I can see you as a boxer.
Matt
I do running. I do run, but not like, I'll do like a 5k and then.
Josh Leva
See, same. I can do that. That's chill. I'm good.
Matt
I already feel like I'm dying.
Josh Leva
Perfect. Yeah.
Matt
Like, why do you need more?
Josh Leva
And the way your body feels afterwards. I'm like, this is. Can't be good for you.
Matt
I think it's more of a mental thing. It is like, to run that long.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Matt
That's insane.
Josh Leva
That's the definition of, like, you versus you.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leva
It's just constantly a mental battle.
Matt
Especially if you run with no headphones on.
Josh Leva
That's crazy. Which a lot of people do. Some of the best marathon runners.
Natalia Gutierrez
Well, I think you're just in the moment. There's like thousands of people cheering you on. I mean, I had headphones on when I was running and I never turned them on. You're just, it's like, it's like having the headphones on right now, it's just. I don't know, it's kind of immersive not listening to music and just really being with the crowd. Yeah, it was really cool when I got into it.
Matt
It's cool.
Natalia Gutierrez
I'm.
Matt
I'm in awe.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, no, it was really good. But yeah, I was through it bad like after 20 cuz everybody was waiting for me at mile 20. I think my whole mentality from 1 to 20 was get there and get there strong.
Matt
And then from 20 to, and from.
Natalia Gutierrez
20 I was like, are they still watching me? No, I'm walking then. No, but I, I still tried and you know, it was really. It was, it was cool.
Matt
Is that your first marathon?
Natalia Gutierrez
It was my first full marathon, yeah. Yeah.
Josh Leva
That's wild, bro.
Natalia Gutierrez
It was cool.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
I think I'll do another one. Yeah. If I get a good opportunity.
Josh Leva
Aren't you doing another one?
Natalia Gutierrez
I'm doing a half marathon. Those are eat. I mean they're not easy, but I think now when you train and you like train for full marathons, it's crazy. But like 13 miles, that's a regular Saturday morning, bro.
Josh Leva
The fact that people run ultra marathons.
Matt
Or like Iron Mans, that's.
Natalia Gutierrez
Iron Mans are crazy.
Josh Leva
That's crazy that I don't know.
Natalia Gutierrez
Iron Mans are insane. Those people. I'm like, hats off. But yeah. So anyways, we're back. Thank you guys so much for being here once again. Natalia Gutierrez. Do you know that that's my mom's maiden name? I didn't know your last name was Gutierrez. That's my last name too.
Matt
That's your last name.
Natalia Gutierrez
Maiden name. So you know, like. Well, like my mom, she named me Edgar Sebastian Robles Gutierrez.
Matt
Your first name. You're an Edgar.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
He is.
Matt
No wonder you go by your middle name.
Natalia Gutierrez
I always went by my middle name, but yeah. And then my wife's name is Karen.
Matt
Crazy.
Natalia Gutierrez
Is that crazy?
Josh Leva
It's pretty wild.
Matt
It's like a match made in heaven.
Josh Leva
Yeah, bro, Imagine if you went by Edgar. I can't even.
Natalia Gutierrez
I did all through high school, but.
Josh Leva
I can't even picture that watch.
Natalia Gutierrez
Call me.
Matt
You don't look like an Edgar.
Josh Leva
I think it's. The stereotype has made it worse. Like now obviously he doesn't look like that.
Natalia Gutierrez
Look, call me like by that. By Edgar. Edgar, what's up?
Josh Leva
Oh, you respond to Edgar. You still will respond to Edgar.
Natalia Gutierrez
What's up? I already explained.
Matt
No, because he has to have an Edgar haircut and he. He doesn't have one, so I don't.
Natalia Gutierrez
No, I already. I've already explained the story.
Josh Leva
Can you please get an Edgar haircut? Please? F. Please to the.
Natalia Gutierrez
No.
Josh Leva
Come on, please.
Natalia Gutierrez
No. I don't know. And I've already talked about. I am for the Edgar community out there, for all the Edgar watching. I am the most attractive Edgar in the world.
Josh Leva
All right, go on Google.
Natalia Gutierrez
Go on Google.
Josh Leva
All right, I believe you on Google.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, Google says it all. Go on chat. Gbt.
Josh Leva
I'm going to find a super hot Edgar and I'm going to bring him on.
Matt
Oh, that'll be a good like. Yeah, yeah.
Josh Leva
Then you're gonna have to, like, defend your case.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leva
And I'll be the judge.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, good luck finding him, that vato. Yeah. I mean, like I said.
Josh Leva
Do you have a middle name?
Matt
I don't.
Natalia Gutierrez
Every time I try to explain my Edgar, he cuts me off.
Matt
Do you guys have. Okay, you have a middle name, right? So.
Josh Leva
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mine's Giovanni.
Matt
What? But your first name.
Natalia Gutierrez
I like Giovanni.
Josh Leva
Joshua. It's technically Joshua. Giovanni Leva.
Matt
Yeah, that's it.
Natalia Gutierrez
I like Giovanni.
Josh Leva
Giovanni's dog's cool, but I've never heard it. I think my mom was trying to call me Giovanni. She wanted something Italian and exotic. I'm not joking.
Matt
Is it with a J?
Josh Leva
It's with a J. O, V, A N, Y. It's spelled so weird. I feel like it was kind of like a mistake. She just went with it.
Matt
Yeah, Usually they're with ice.
Josh Leva
Yeah, yeah. Giovanni.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. Like the yogurt.
Josh Leva
That's the yogurt.
Matt
That's Jovani, you idiot.
Josh Leva
Joshua Chobani.
Matt
That's actually kind of perfect. Dude, get the sponsorship.
Natalia Gutierrez
Okay.
Matt
Like Chobani, if you're listening.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. Joshua, you introduce yourself. Can you introduce yourself? Like Joshua Giovanni.
Josh Leva
Bye.
Natalia Gutierrez
Bye. Giovanni. Yeah, like the yogurt.
Josh Leva
Can you say that all the time? Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
That's so funny. We have this segment, we. We have a perspective of a man. We're actually, actually me and him always like, you know, we shoot the. And we talk about really serious topics that people actually, when they like, submit. Submit, okay. They submit. We have forms. Jessica has really professional forms making us look really professional.
Josh Leva
This is very true.
Natalia Gutierrez
So. But today. But today we have perspective of a woman. Cuz you're here.
Matt
I am in fact a woman.
Josh Leva
Yeah, you are. Just so you know, these are real questions.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
90% of our audience is women, so there's a high opportunity, a high chance that this is coming from a woman. Just to put some context and you understand.
Matt
I'm ready.
Josh Leva
These questions. Yeah, we also, like, she gets the ages, so you also have that to consider as well. Okay, let's do it, Jazz. Let's do the damn thing.
Sebastian Robles
All right, this first one is from Maria. 30 to 35. I need help in the dating world. Every time I'm out in public, men always stare at me, but they don't approach me. It makes me think I'm not attractive. How do I make myself more approachable?
Josh Leva
Can I say something real quick before you answer it? It's not that you're not attractive. Is that men are pussies.
Matt
That is, in fact, true. I know from my experience. Can. Can I speak?
Josh Leva
Sorry.
Matt
Thank you. From my experience, I think men always need a little bit of a cue. So you can be the most attractive person in the room, but you have to give them, like, una mirada or even giving them a little compliment just kind of opens up the space for them to come up to you. So maybe being a little more inviting in that way. It's just, like, a little thing that men need, the extra push, unfortunately.
Josh Leva
Yeah. Sometimes people don't realize, like, how they are coming across, like, just naturally. Like, some people have rbf, I have rbf, and a lot of people don't know that. So you kind of have to be aware of that and be like. Like, oh, maybe I'm giving across. Like, I'm giving an RBF face, and I need to kind of, like, smile a little more, you know? But, I mean, sometimes guys are intimidated.
Natalia Gutierrez
To walk up to girls, especially if I think a lot of guys, when they think a girl is really attractive, that's even scary.
Matt
But that's like an ego thing, right? Because the thing that you're scared of is rejection.
Josh Leva
Rejection.
Matt
So also, for the men, just put your ego down a little bit, especially.
Josh Leva
If you do get the signal, right? Like, if you do feel that invite.
Matt
Imagine you do get the invite, and you don't go up to that woman.
Josh Leva
And you live in that. What if.
Matt
Live in regret? No, thank you.
Sebastian Robles
Can you guys give examples of an invite? So, like, at your cameras, I would.
Josh Leva
Say, for me, it's the lingering eye contact, right? So it's not just like a. One of those. Because that happens naturally, Right? But it's like a. Oh, is that. I would take that as a sign. I would take that as a sign. Wait, that doesn't happen to you guys.
Matt
That's a different kind of event. Okay. That's not like a hi, hello. That's like, let's go.
Natalia Gutierrez
Funny you've done all year.
Josh Leva
That hasn't happened.
Natalia Gutierrez
Funny you've done all year. I was not expecting that. That was actually.
Josh Leva
Those are the kind of signals I get.
Natalia Gutierrez
That was actually funny.
Josh Leva
That's.
Matt
That's what you need. That's what she means.
Josh Leva
No, that's what I guess as an invite.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, that's what you get? Yeah. Okay.
Matt
Oh, damn.
Josh Leva
Yeah. What about you? I'm joking. I'm joking.
Matt
What about me? What do you mean? Like, what. How do I look? How do.
Josh Leva
Like, how do you create that invite for somebody that you might be attracted that you want to have them pursue?
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. What's your cue?
Josh Leva
Because I also do agree, like, you. The woman has to kind of create that open space. Right? Like, you don't just want somebody just to approach you blindly.
Natalia Gutierrez
Because I think sometimes guys, too, I think that they definitely need to put their ego aside. But I think. I think for guys, they don't approach them because they. The guy thinks that they're respecting them. You know what I mean? Like, it's more of a. Like, I'm not gonna do it because I, I. It's a. It's like.
Matt
But it also depends.
Natalia Gutierrez
A lot of guys. A lot of guys do. I'm not gonna go because, you know, I respect their space. Or I'm, you know, I'm.
Matt
There's a place in time. Like, if you're at the gym, sure, right. But if you're, like, out at a restaurant or something. But see, I'm very, like, bold. Like, if I want something, I'll. Like, let's say I find Sevas attractive, and I see him from across the room. I'll go up to him and I'll be like, hi, what's your name? Like, straight up. Yeah, like, straight up. Like, just to be in your presence so that you know. And then it engages in conversation.
Josh Leva
No gray area.
Matt
It's like, yeah, like, straight up. But, like, I don't like to waste my time. So I'm like, yeah, let's just get to it. Like these ojitos, like, no, like, come and talk to me.
Josh Leva
But not everybody's built like you. You're built different girl. I feel like majority of. Of of women, I would say, are not as, like, bold as you. You.
Matt
But they can't.
Josh Leva
But they can't. They can be.
Matt
They can fake the confidence like, who cares? Just make it. And then.
Natalia Gutierrez
Cuz clearly, clearly she wants it.
Josh Leva
Right?
Natalia Gutierrez
Clearly she wants like to be more approachable. Guys like obviously they look at her. But yeah.
Matt
Try it out and see how it works out.
Natalia Gutierrez
Try Josh's cue.
Sebastian Robles
And what about your sevas?
Natalia Gutierrez
Me? Nothing. I just go. Hi.
Josh Leva
Lord help this man.
Natalia Gutierrez
Hi.
Matt
It's a good thing he's.
Natalia Gutierrez
I grab one of my girls.
Josh Leva
Hi.
Natalia Gutierrez
Hi. No, yeah, I guess that or like.
Matt
That was a great question by the way.
Natalia Gutierrez
It was, it was. And that's another thing too. Maria, she's 30 to 35. So I just think, you know, at that age too, like just like. Like what Natalia was saying. Just like straight up give cues.
Josh Leva
Yeah. And I think like a smile goes a long way.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
You know what I mean? Like so I think like even just gesturing a smile towards somebody you are attracted to and just putting out there good energies. Like put out the. Put out the vibes, baby.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
You know, get a little lip bite.
Natalia Gutierrez
Can you do that face one more time, please?
Josh Leva
You got to pay me for that.
Natalia Gutierrez
Okay, Matt, rewind the clip. Okay.
Josh Leva
I would say for me it's the lingering eye contact. Right. So it's not just like a. One of those cuz that happens naturally. Right. But it's like a. Oh, holy no.
Matt
He's doing like the Flynn Rider smolder, right?
Natalia Gutierrez
Who's that? What?
Josh Leva
Tangled. Are you serious?
Matt
Don't talk to me. So. Are you serious?
Josh Leva
Grow up, bro. Grow up. Jess back watch a Disney movie for once a year. You know who that is?
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, yeah. I've never seen Tangled. I'm sorry. I don't go on tv.
Matt
Like. Okay, yeah, I think this is our.
Natalia Gutierrez
Better you guys bounce than me.
Josh Leva
We have headphones on, bro.
Natalia Gutierrez
I told you it's not. Not me. It's not me.
Josh Leva
That was a great question.
Matt
I thought I was the guest. The guest of honor. I'm so sorry.
Natalia Gutierrez
All right, Jeff, back me up please, bro.
Josh Leva
She's seen Tangled. Everyone in here.
Natalia Gutierrez
I've never seen Tangled, bro. I'm sorry.
Matt
That's your homework for tonight.
Josh Leva
Could have fooled me with that hair.
Matt
Okay, next question.
Sebastian Robles
This next one's Anonymous. Age range, 40 and up. My husband of 18 plus years only has one social media app, which is WhatsApp.
Josh Leva
WhatsApp.
Sebastian Robles
He blocked me on there and says he does and says he doesn't post and claims to be doing nothing wrong. He said I can go through his app to check at any time. Is it wrong of me to feel a certain way about this? If he doesn't do anything wrong. Then why block me? What's your perspective?
Natalia Gutierrez
I'm not even gonna answer this.
Matt
Yeah, that's like real sus. Behavior. Blocking your. This is her husband.
Natalia Gutierrez
No.
Josh Leva
18 years.
Matt
Yeah. I would go with your gut and I would trust your instinct and see what's up with that, because that's not. That's not normal behavior.
Josh Leva
Not at all.
Natalia Gutierrez
Not at all.
Matt
You should not wanna.
Josh Leva
No, bro.
Natalia Gutierrez
On what?
Matt
Block your wife. Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
WhatsApp.
Josh Leva
Why do you need to block somebody on WhatsApp? Like, it's not like a.
Natalia Gutierrez
Well, WhatsApp, you can post stories and.
Sebastian Robles
I didn't know that.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, it's like. It's like a whole thing. But, bro, like, so. Even more so. The United States. No, I wouldn't.
Sebastian Robles
Wow.
Josh Leva
Bro. If. You know what you say next, bro.
Matt
Actually, you give her the insight since you know so much about this.
Natalia Gutierrez
No, that's what I'm saying. I wouldn't even want to answer this question. Like, he's being sus. As. Sus.
Josh Leva
As.
Matt
Okay.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. First of all, S doesn't post stories on WhatsApp, right?
Josh Leva
I don't know, dude.
Natalia Gutierrez
First of all. First of all, I'm a world traveler. So what happens is when you go outside of the United States.
Josh Leva
I don't like this character.
Natalia Gutierrez
Mexico, too. When you go outside the United States and you go to your hotel and you go to concierge, Those motherfuckers use WhatsApp.
Josh Leva
They do.
Natalia Gutierrez
So check my WhatsApp. Nothing but Four Seasons.
Matt
We're so done with New Year, new you. This year it's more you on Bumble. More of you shamelessly sending playlists, especially that one filled with show tunes.
Natalia Gutierrez
More of you finding Geminis because you.
Josh Leva
Know you always like them.
Matt
More of you dating with intention because.
Natalia Gutierrez
You know what you want. And you know what?
Matt
We love that for you. Someone else will too be more you this year and find them on Bumble.
Natalia Gutierrez
This episode is brought to you by State Farm. You might say all kinds of stuff when things go wrong, but these are the words you really need to remember. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. They've got options to fit your unique insurance needs. Meaning you can talk to your agent to choose the coverage you need. Have coverage options to protect the things you value most. File a claim right on the State Farm mobile app and even reach a real person when you need to talk to someone. Like a good neighbor. State Farm is there. And then my cousins at the very end.
Josh Leva
Blocked.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, no, that was. That was kind of like a joke. Not really? Yeah, but yeah, it is sus.
Josh Leva
Okay. So people use it, like, as a social media.
Natalia Gutierrez
I don't think you can post like. Like static feed, post, like, stories, but you can post stories. Ye.
Josh Leva
That's kind of cool.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, no, WhatsApp is cool. Like, yeah, but, like, everybody in Mexico uses WhatsApp. So I talk to my cousins on that.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
You know, because it doesn't charge them to talk on that. It's like a free texting app for them.
Josh Leva
So major sus.
Matt
Yeah. So going. So, going back to answering her question, I would take the. What he said of being able to check his app at any time and roll with that and see if there's.
Josh Leva
Anything on there and the whole thing. Like, you can check it anytime.
Matt
Yeah, that.
Josh Leva
That's even more sus. Like, then unblock me. Like, this isn't about, like, checking. It's like, just unblock me.
Matt
Yeah, bro.
Natalia Gutierrez
Imagine you're with your girlfriend or your wife or whatever in 18 years and you block her. That's up. Honestly, don't even check his. Just bounce.
Josh Leva
Nah, check his.
Matt
Check his to confirm and, like, call.
Josh Leva
Him out on his bluff if you want to check it. Check. Okay, give me your.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're right.
Josh Leva
Yeah. Give me your.
Natalia Gutierrez
Dang. And then 40 plus.
Matt
That's crazy. They're wilding.
Natalia Gutierrez
I'm not even, like, saying, like, anything about the age. I'm just saying 40 plus. Yeah.
Josh Leva
Still acting like that.
Natalia Gutierrez
And. And she has to write this. That's sad. You shouldn't be able. You shouldn't be writing this.
Josh Leva
Thank you.
Matt
She needs help.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, bro, I know, but I'm saying, like, you shouldn't be in this position. But I understand. And. And. And, like, that's not. That's not okay. I feel bad for her.
Matt
I agree.
Natalia Gutierrez
That.
Josh Leva
Damn, bro. Next question.
Sebastian Robles
This next one's a little long. Anonymous. 30 to 35. I was in a relationship for nine years with the love of my life, the man I had plans to start a family with. With. We got engaged last year, had everything going for us. Venue, almost fully paid, caterer, flowers, all of it. I decided to call off the wedding after finding out he slept with someone at his bachelor. My life has taken a complete turn, and I don't know why or how this happened. And I'm looking for answers that I know I'll never get from him. Perspective of a man, perspective of a woman. And advice on how to get through this, please.
Josh Leva
Damn. She.
Matt
Wow. I'm so sorry.
Josh Leva
Yeah, yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
I'm so sorry about that. So I didn't. The wedding's off or it's off.
Josh Leva
It's off with all.
Matt
I mean, it was at the bachelor trip, so right before the wedding.
Natalia Gutierrez
That's so sad. All the.
Matt
Probably some random.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
Perspective of a man. He's an idiot. That's the perspective idiot. Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
I feel so bad for her. Wow.
Josh Leva
Yeah. I mean, I think perspective of a woman. You can answer this better than I can, but I think she did the right thing thing by calling off 100 at least just to, like, reset, seek counseling, maybe therapy, and then potentially see if it's even possible to restore.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leva
Right.
Matt
So I mean, my advice for this would be to, like, actually think this is. This is actually a blessing in disguise. I know it's a very unfortunate situation, but this could have been your husband. And imagine you found out prior to actually getting married to him, which I think is. Is a great thing. But when you're looking for a new man and you're finally in the dating world and all of that stuff, always ask yourself, or ask him, like, does he want to be a husband or does he want a wife? Because those are two very different things. Right. And that man. What. It sounds like he did not want to be a husband.
Josh Leva
He wanted a wife.
Matt
He wanted a wife. He wanted it the way that he wanted it. So it's really a blessing in disguise. And thank God, think yourself that you found this out earlier before being married to this person and then having all those issues afterwards and divorce and paperwork and all that stuff. So.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
What an answer.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, that was. That was really good.
Josh Leva
That's a perspective.
Natalia Gutierrez
It even sucks on it, too. Like, this happens to people and they already have kids and stuff, even like, before they got married. So it's even more tough in that situation. But guys, for all the guys out there with the bachelor trips and stuff like that, like, it's. None of that's worth it.
Josh Leva
None of it.
Natalia Gutierrez
It's not.
Josh Leva
It's.
Natalia Gutierrez
Have your fun, like, get up with your boys or blah, blah, and that's it.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Go back home. Because honestly, even the crew, that you're gonna regret.
Josh Leva
Damn. Crazy.
Matt
Yeah. But we're wishing you lots of love and lots of light through this.
Josh Leva
Absolutely.
Natalia Gutierrez
Absolutely.
Josh Leva
Wow. Everything. Fully paid. Almost fully paid still.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like, all the. All the. All the planning.
Matt
I would have sued.
Josh Leva
That's devastating.
Matt
Honestly. Soon.
Josh Leva
Can you. Can you.
Matt
I don't know. No.
Josh Leva
Find a way. You'll. You find a way.
Natalia Gutierrez
I don't know, cuz. Bro, by the Time you go to your bachelor party, 80% of your shit's paid for right now. Cuz the bachelor party happens like the week before.
Matt
No.
Natalia Gutierrez
Nah. No, I mean that's like. It can. Yeah.
Matt
Like two weeks before. Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, two or a month. I would say even more. Cuz that crew, that's nasty. You want to look fresh for your.
Josh Leva
Wedding, Got to look good. Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Do we have another one?
Sebastian Robles
Y.
Natalia Gutierrez
Perfect.
Josh Leva
Great answer, by the way. That was really Good.
Matt
Thank you.
Sebastian Robles
Anonymous 25 to 30. I've been with my man for seven years. There's been infidelity on my end. On my end. In the first months of us dating. I told him back then and we decided to continue the relationship. Fast forward seven years later and he's asking me for a threesome to help him get over what I did. I'm totally against it, but he keeps bringing it up. Do you think this is a fair ask and do you really think it'll help him get over what I did?
Matt
Wow.
Natalia Gutierrez
Great.
Josh Leva
Great question. Wow, that's juicy right there.
Natalia Gutierrez
That's juicy. This is a crazy question. This is one of the craziest questions we've ever had. Yeah. Damn.
Matt
Do you guys want me to answer?
Josh Leva
Perspective of a woman.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
I would say that this is not a fair ask because when he decided to stay with you, he forgave all, forgot all, whatever. So I think this is just kind of a way of him trying to get his way and bringing up something from the past. But I would. I would just be like, either we separate or you go on and do whatever you want to do.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. 100.
Josh Leva
She doesn't know him. That. Especially if she's not comfortable with the whole situation, which clearly she's not.
Matt
No, I mean, when you, you know, when you forgive someone, you forgive them. You don't have to forget what they did. But yeah, forgive them and move on. He's like holding candy over you like a toddler. Like, oh, well, you did this. So I'm gonna do this. It's like a tuple porto.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Matt
And it never cancels out.
Josh Leva
Okay.
Matt
There's always residual problems after that.
Josh Leva
So I think people don't realize that they're not truly forgiving their partner. They're just using it as leverage. Yeah.
Matt
And that's manipulation.
Josh Leva
And that's. That's what I was gonna say. And that's me.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. No, like. Like she said, like, once you forgive. Okay, cool. Live your life. But this was said seven years later. Hey, you know that one time. Hey, that one time we like, well, Anyways, like, I, you know, I kind of want to get over it this weekend. Yeah. Seven years later. Seven years later, though.
Matt
That's ridiculous.
Josh Leva
That.
Natalia Gutierrez
That really, like, that's wild. Like, that's a stupid excuse. You know what I mean?
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
If anything, just be more real. Hey, you know what? Like, the.
Josh Leva
Don't use that as a. Yeah, don't.
Natalia Gutierrez
Use that as your tool. Like, hey, you know what? I want things to get a little spicy. What you think about this? N. Okay, cool. But honestly, I think that whole threesome type, like, if that's your girl, girl, that's a super bad idea to do you.
Josh Leva
Oh, 100.
Natalia Gutierrez
I don't think you treat your girl like that, like. Like, if you're single and you. You like all that kind of stuff. Handle. But I think if it's your girl, girl, it's not worth doing those kind of things.
Josh Leva
No, I agree. I agree.
Natalia Gutierrez
To somebody you actually love. No.
Josh Leva
It's a dangerous game.
Natalia Gutierrez
Fast forward seven years.
Matt
Imagine that when you open up those doors, it's like a lion's den. There's no way of really getting back to this sacredness of what you guys had. Especially if you're married or whatever.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
How do you even look at each other after that? Like, especially if you live with each other. Like, how do you look at, like.
Josh Leva
No, I mean, your relationship's completely.
Natalia Gutierrez
It's different. Right?
Josh Leva
It's completely different, bro.
Natalia Gutierrez
I want to tell your girl. Then I say, yeah. Yeah, like what? How do you continue your life? Yeah, that's crazy.
Matt
You don't.
Josh Leva
Yeah, that was a great question.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, great answer. Yeah. 100. 100. Agree with Natalia.
Josh Leva
You are a mother.
Matt
I am a mother.
Josh Leva
How old is your child?
Matt
She's six.
Josh Leva
She's six. Oh, cool.
Natalia Gutierrez
Wow. What's her name?
Matt
Catalia.
Natalia Gutierrez
Wow. I just saw a show with the same name.
Matt
A show or a movie?
Natalia Gutierrez
Or was it a movie?
Matt
Is it Colombiana?
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, that's.
Josh Leva
What.
Natalia Gutierrez
Is that where you got it?
Josh Leva
No way. I love that.
Natalia Gutierrez
I love that movie I just saw recently.
Matt
I was like, that is a.
Josh Leva
That's the name.
Natalia Gutierrez
It's a flower.
Matt
It's a flower. It's a Colombian orchid.
Natalia Gutierrez
Wow. Interesting. Yeah, I just saw it just for. Funny you said because beautiful name for your daughter.
Josh Leva
It is a beautiful name, but I.
Natalia Gutierrez
Just saw that movie too, because I had a Zoe's Aldana marathon at my house.
Matt
Oh, it's on Netflix, right?
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, it's on Netflix, but I freaking love Zoe. I was watching movie.
Josh Leva
She's such a badass.
Matt
They're beautiful flowers, but I lowkey think they kind of look like a vagina.
Josh Leva
Whoa. Let me see.
Matt
It's just like a beautiful, like, opening of. I have it tattooed on me. Look it.
Natalia Gutierrez
I swear. You do. Doesn't it? Does it?
Matt
It just looks like something's blooming.
Josh Leva
Yeah, yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
No, I see it. I see it. And then, like the ovaries like that.
Matt
But overall, beautiful flower and a beautiful name.
Natalia Gutierrez
So you have a tat on you. You have a flower tatted on you too, right?
Josh Leva
A flower?
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. No, wrong, wrong. No, I thought you had like a flower on you or something like that. I was gonna say, like, isn't it cool how like. Or like crazy how humans always get flowers.
Josh Leva
Where'd you get this idea from that.
Natalia Gutierrez
Because she's. Because she showed us her tattoo. So I was like, like, don't you have a tattoo?
Matt
How long have you known this man?
Josh Leva
Oh, like eight years.
Matt
Wow.
Josh Leva
And he has known every single tattoo I've ever gotten. I've consulted with him and he thinks I've got a flower.
Matt
I think he has a different, like, co host he's thinking about.
Josh Leva
Where's your mind right now? Something.
Natalia Gutierrez
I feel like you guys are picking on me.
Matt
Something I evaluate. Just saying.
Josh Leva
Don't you have a flower tattoo?
Natalia Gutierrez
No. Cause I was saying, like, I have a flower tattoo too. And I just thought that maybe you did as well. I mean, you're super tattooed.
Matt
I think he wants you to be part of the flower game.
Josh Leva
I'm actually getting a flower tattoo tomorrow.
Natalia Gutierrez
That's what it is.
Josh Leva
I swear to God.
Natalia Gutierrez
That's probably when he was. Yeah. You see? You're a dick. Maybe.
Josh Leva
Maybe.
Natalia Gutierrez
Look like a dummy.
Matt
He is.
Josh Leva
I currently don't have one.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. Is it. Do you know what kind of flower you're going to get tatted on? You. Cuz you're super tatted.
Josh Leva
Probably. Are you super tatted up from the feet?
Matt
Up from the feet?
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. You haven't seen his pictures on Instagram. Like, he always has to put hashtag with tattoo, hashtag blasted, hashtag inked up. It's true.
Josh Leva
He has more tattoos than me.
Natalia Gutierrez
Hey, you're getting. You're getting blasted though.
Josh Leva
I love tattoos. I think tattoos are so cool. I would have more if.
Natalia Gutierrez
If you've gone on a tattoo streak recently.
Josh Leva
Yeah, I just. The. The face that my grandma gives me.
Matt
It shatters every time.
Josh Leva
Shatters me.
Matt
Yeah, I know. My mom says I look like a ch.
Natalia Gutierrez
Really?
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Damn.
Josh Leva
And.
Matt
And I don't think I have that money.
Josh Leva
I mean, how many. How Many do you have?
Matt
I think I have, like, eight or nine.
Josh Leva
Are you done?
Matt
No, no, no. I feel like I, Like, I have, like, so much space that I can. Yeah, I have to continue, like. Yeah, you know, like, we're already there.
Natalia Gutierrez
You start to feel kind of spacey. Right.
Matt
When you have to get it covered, you're like, okay.
Josh Leva
And I also feel like chefs with tattoos, like, I just trust them more.
Natalia Gutierrez
Right.
Matt
Everyone stereotype, huh?
Josh Leva
You know what she's talking about?
Matt
Like, you got tattoos. Let me see.
Natalia Gutierrez
Let me see your arms.
Matt
Let me see.
Natalia Gutierrez
That's crazy. Who's your favorite chef in the world? Like, who do you. Who do you inspire to be? Or who's somebody that, like, you just absolutely love?
Matt
Oh, my God. That's a tough question.
Natalia Gutierrez
And then I want to know your favorite chef movie. And you can't pick ratatouille.
Matt
No. Okay.
Josh Leva
Burnt.
Matt
Burnt. Burnt is my favorite.
Josh Leva
It's one of my favorites too.
Natalia Gutierrez
Is that the one with Bradley? Bradley Cooper, dude.
Josh Leva
It's so good.
Matt
He was.
Josh Leva
Because not just about, like, they do a good job at demonstrating the food and the culture of, like, being a chef, but also the story and the heart behind it.
Matt
That's really. If you work in restaurants or Michelin star restaurants, it's literally the life. So really, really, it's intense. Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Have you ever done that?
Josh Leva
Super. Fascinating.
Matt
I've worked in restaurants before.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. Like those strict ones?
Matt
Yeah, yeah. It's not Michelin star. No. But. But I've eaten at enough Michelin star restaurants to know what it's like.
Natalia Gutierrez
Really?
Josh Leva
What's the highest Michelin star restaurant you've ate at? Like, how many stars?
Matt
Probably Gordon Ramsay's.
Josh Leva
What is he? It's like a three star.
Matt
Gordon Ramsay's a three star Michelin chef? Yeah, he's. He's, I think, also Wolfgang Puck.
Josh Leva
Oh, yeah, yeah, Yeah.
Matt
I. I don't know for sure.
Josh Leva
Oh, so it's the chef that gets the stars. It's not just the. Okay, that makes sense.
Matt
I think it can eat, but then, no, because Gordon Ramsay has, like, over 20, I think. I think. I'm not sure.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
Can we look it up?
Josh Leva
He's like the Michael Jordan of chef.
Matt
How many Michelin stuff is Gordon Ramsay? He's like the Kobe Bryant of the Chef World.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
17.
Josh Leva
Damn.
Natalia Gutierrez
Damn.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leva
Do you. Do you still keep in contact with him? Does he, like, just check in on you or. This is.
Matt
I think we follow each other on Instagram. But no, he.
Josh Leva
I mean, he's a busy man.
Matt
Gordon's a billionaire. Okay. He has so many teams. He's an amazing person. Amazing. He smells amazing, by the way. He smells like money. No, but the kindest. The kindest person that you would ever meet. He's so thoughtful. He owns so many businesses.
Josh Leva
He does, like, hex class.
Matt
And he's already, like, in his 60s. This man is moving. Like, there's, like. He looks great. Like, he has abs. Like, it's insane.
Natalia Gutierrez
He's like a huge cyclist.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leva
Is he really?
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, he almost.
Matt
He almost died.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, he almost. Like, he. Dude, you should have seen his ribcage.
Josh Leva
Like, he fell.
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Dude, that looks. Look bad.
Josh Leva
Bad. This is recently?
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, kind of like last year.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leva
No, he's a beast, man.
Natalia Gutierrez
Maybe less than a year ago. Honestly.
Matt
Six or seven kids. Yeah, kids.
Natalia Gutierrez
That was black.
Josh Leva
Oh, my gosh. I remember this. Yeah, this went viral.
Natalia Gutierrez
He, like, posted it. Like, guys, be careful. Like, I had, like, a. For him to, like, really be vulnerable like that. Like, and I posted, like, on a story, especially, like, three frames.
Josh Leva
How was it on set? Like, was he able? Was he approachable or was he kind?
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, really?
Josh Leva
Yeah, you can have, like, full conversations.
Matt
Full conversations with him. Obviously. He's always, like, in tune or looking at his producers because everything is, like, on a time crunch, Right. You have to get everything done. We filmed the entire season in four weeks.
Natalia Gutierrez
Damn. Yeah.
Josh Leva
So you guys filmed every single day?
Matt
Like, every single day? 12 hours a day. Like, we were cooking.
Josh Leva
Did you go on a vacation when you got back just to, like, kind of decompress and just.
Matt
No, I didn't. I was just, like, back to work, like, after that? Yeah.
Josh Leva
Wow, that's crazy.
Matt
I love that. We all have.
Natalia Gutierrez
We always do, right?
Josh Leva
Always.
Natalia Gutierrez
Always. It's like a thing now.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
As a content creator now, you said you. You. Now you're on your own schedule, right?
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
And how's that been? Is that. Is that, like, something difficult for you? Like, what do you struggle with as a content creator right now? Like, what's something that you wish you had that or you're working on to get, or whether that be an editor or whether that be.
Matt
You know, I think having a team, it would make my life a lot easier. But there's nobody that knows your angles and the way that you edit like, you do. Yeah. So that's the.
Natalia Gutierrez
Put in the love.
Matt
Yeah. Like, so that's the struggle that I have because I have had editors and I have had videographers following me around. But sometimes, as dumb as it sounds, the professional kind of videography content people don't like anymore. People like you recording, they want that wrong.
Natalia Gutierrez
The more organic.
Matt
Yeah. Like it like you're at your house, like you're. The phone's shaking 100. They want to be able to connect with you. Like, oh, she's just in her kitchen. Like this isn't a whole production. Because when I first started, I was paying someone 800 to come to my house.
Natalia Gutierrez
Damn.
Matt
Shoot and edit and shoot and edit. And we would do three recipes back to back and I was like gastada.
Natalia Gutierrez
I was like 800 bucks.
Matt
800 bucks.
Natalia Gutierrez
They wash the dishes after too.
Matt
Oh, I would feed them after. I'd be like, comment after this. And it didn't work. None of those videos went viral. And then until I started recording them myself. That's when it works. So, you know, hopefully soon I can meet people that really understand.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Matt
My vision and the way that I edit and know my angles and. And then we can. It's going to be a smooth sailing. More content.
Josh Leva
What, what are like, what are your goals? Like what do you want to open up your own restaurant?
Matt
My goal has never been to open up restaurant. It's also one of the biggest like, like profit losses kind of business. Like having a restaurant. I do want to open up a coffee shop cuz I love coffee.
Josh Leva
Me too.
Matt
So Latina owned Mexican. I want to make all the pan tulces like there and have really cool crazy Mexican flavors and syrups. I always judge coffee shops by if they make their syrups in house. If you're not making your syrups in house, then do not open up a coffee shop. Because I can get moan in at Smart and final. Okay. All that syrup, all that. What's the point of having. I never thought about this amazing coffee with these beans that were like curated for this long. If you're just gonna throw artificial syrup on it.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Matt
Like it doesn't take long to make a vanilla simple syrup, you know.
Josh Leva
What are your thoughts on like sugar free?
Matt
I, I personally don't like sugar free. I don't like the taste of it. I don't like stevia. But I understand people that are diabetic and all that stuff that trying to watch your calories. Yeah, it has to be there.
Natalia Gutierrez
So I've been a big honey guy recently.
Josh Leva
I love honey.
Matt
I love honey and agave.
Natalia Gutierrez
Agave. Yeah.
Matt
Yeah. So opening up a coffee shop. I'm planning to write a cookbook.
Josh Leva
Oh, cool.
Matt
So I guess if you ask me what my goal is, it's to get people from our generation or the younger generation to get back into their kitchens and really find the love of cooking and really enjoying their fruit of their labor.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Matt
Because in times like we are now where everything is so accessible, like door dash and Uber, we've traded quality and time for convenience. And it's really unfortunate because I know so many.
Natalia Gutierrez
I'm that person.
Matt
So many women that don't know how to cook and, like, they cook, like, to survive, like, basic necessities, but to really get in the kitchen and, like, I think it's like a proud moment, just like, running. As for you or whatever that might be for you when you put the time. That's my goal. If I can get someone to be like, hey, I made, you know, your recipe with my husband and my kids. And. And we had such a great time. Because that's my, like, fondest memory growing up is just having, like, food with the family, all the, like, quinceaneras and people just, like, gushing over food or the. The recalantado. Like, those are my fondest memories. And so I want to keep that alive, keep the tradition alive. Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. And we forget how fun it is.
Matt
Yeah. You know, you have to cut the time for it.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. I remember, like, you, like, me and my wife will, like, pick a recipe online and then we'll, like, do it, whether it be Italian or whatever. And then, like, it's like a thing to do. It's like a date or, like making a piece of wine. Yeah. Glass of wine or something fun.
Matt
Put some oldies on. Like.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
Just have a.
Natalia Gutierrez
Then washing all the dishes.
Josh Leva
And that's where I'm at, the dishes.
Matt
Okay. But this is like, you can outsource and hire a cleaning lady. Okay. Just like, the one time.
Natalia Gutierrez
And like, the dishwasher, I feel like, doesn't. I don't know how to use.
Matt
I've never used a dishwasher in my life.
Natalia Gutierrez
Mexicans aren't taught to. You do the dishwasher.
Matt
All my friends have dishwasher the same. And I'm like, I need to manually wash them.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
I use a dishwasher to put the plates in the pack to store them.
Josh Leva
But what I'll do is, like, I'll give it, like, a little rinse, get all the stuff off of it, and then I'll put it in the dishwasher. So it's basically clean already.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. So it's like a whole thing. But yeah, it's definitely something that. It's like a super cool day, night thing, you know? And, like, it's fun, but yeah, you're right. People need to know and understand the feeling. I remember when I was a kid, you know what I mean? She gets all sticky like Mom.
Matt
But then when you eat and you have that salsa, you're like, damn, this is so.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, I made this.
Matt
You appreciate it so much more. I think that's what is really important to me.
Natalia Gutierrez
So being from Los Angeles and then.
Josh Leva
Born and raised in la.
Matt
Born and raised in la. I grew up in Maywood. I was, like, very, very young in Maywood. And then I'm a Long beach girl, so my teen years.
Natalia Gutierrez
Shout out to the LBC.
Josh Leva
LBC in the building.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, Jessica's from LBC, too. It's funny, we're all on the 605. You know, it goes Norwalk, Cerritos, Long Beach.
Josh Leva
Beach, right, Cerritos, Norwalk.
Natalia Gutierrez
No, first you hit.
Josh Leva
Oh, going down. Going down South.
Natalia Gutierrez
It gets nicer.
Matt
Going is really nice.
Natalia Gutierrez
Where?
Matt
Bixby, Knowles.
Josh Leva
I don't know where that's at.
Matt
Bougie.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, really?
Josh Leva
I want to go to that restaurant that you've been telling us about.
Matt
What restaurant?
Sebastian Robles
It's called Viaje.
Matt
Oh, I've been there.
Sebastian Robles
Oh, my God, it's so good.
Matt
It's nice.
Sebastian Robles
I was there there this weekend.
Natalia Gutierrez
It was great. Let's go.
Josh Leva
Like, they make their own minds.
Matt
This guy says that he's a world traveler, so you gotta go to.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, yeah. Well, speaking about that, what are your top three? Like, go to restaurants in la or like, say, I'm from, like, New York. Right. And I'm your friend. Hey, where should I go? Where are you gonna guide me? Where are you gonna take me? Top three restaurants.
Matt
Okay, so my number one restaurant is Bestia in la.
Natalia Gutierrez
Love that restaurant.
Matt
Have you guys been.
Josh Leva
Yes.
Matt
Love that restaurant. And it's all almost the same chef, so it's.
Josh Leva
Oh, really?
Matt
Best. Yeah, it's the chef.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, I know the second one.
Matt
You're gonna say Safi's. Safi's is Mediterranean.
Josh Leva
I haven't been there.
Matt
So good.
Natalia Gutierrez
Super fantastic. They have this orange drink that's really popular.
Matt
I don't know.
Natalia Gutierrez
It's great there, bro.
Matt
It's amazing. I saw. I saw the guy from the office there. One of the actors from the office there.
Natalia Gutierrez
Which one?
Matt
I don't know his name. I don't. I never watched the Office.
Josh Leva
You didn't?
Matt
No.
Josh Leva
Great show.
Matt
Great show, but amazing, amazing restaurant. And then there was a restaurant, if you're looking for French cuisine, called La Bicyclet in, I think, Beverly Hills, but.
Natalia Gutierrez
I. Oh, I've never been there.
Matt
I think after Covet, it shut down permanently. And it was one of my favorite restaurants.
Natalia Gutierrez
Dang. Yeah.
Josh Leva
What about fast food? Like, just something like, what's your favorite?
Natalia Gutierrez
I like this question.
Josh Leva
Like, just.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, everybody likes too dirty to disgust.
Matt
Give me three options and I'll choose one.
Josh Leva
In n out. McDonald's in and out's not fast food.
Matt
There's no way.
Josh Leva
Okay. In and out. Jack in the Box. Taco Bell.
Matt
Ooh, Jack in the Box.
Josh Leva
Good answer.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
Actually the right answer.
Natalia Gutierrez
Now, what's your Jack in the Box order?
Matt
Okay. You gotta get the. The tacos.
Natalia Gutierrez
Of course.
Matt
One egg roll.
Josh Leva
Huh?
Matt
Curly fries. And then you have to get like a Jumbo Jack.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
I'm not mad at that.
Natalia Gutierrez
With cheese, it would change. Yeah.
Josh Leva
Any kind of sauces that maybe you want to get on side.
Matt
I get all the sauces. So I get like Buffalo Ranch barbecue. And those are my three.
Josh Leva
Yeah, but do you, like, put the taco in the. In the ranch? Like, do you ever do.
Matt
Yeah, yeah. You put this on.
Josh Leva
It was a test.
Natalia Gutierrez
You know, it's funny. I. I think Jack in the Box is a San Diego thing. I think it came from San Diego.
Matt
From Jack in the Box Fire.
Natalia Gutierrez
They have the most extraordinary menu.
Matt
They do.
Josh Leva
It's crazy how menu should be a Michelin star.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. They have egg rolls. This like, bro. Why the does Jack have egg rolls? But they do. And they're better than the Chinese spots.
Matt
Yeah. Yeah, I agree.
Natalia Gutierrez
Like, those egg rolls are insane.
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
They're so good.
Josh Leva
My mouth is literally.
Natalia Gutierrez
When they don't give me the sweet and sour.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Pissed, bro.
Josh Leva
Gotta.
Natalia Gutierrez
You know, sometimes they forget.
Josh Leva
No, they don't forget. I double check the bag.
Matt
But do you like Jack in the Box? Because you used to work there, so. Yeah.
Josh Leva
But yes, maybe I don't.
Natalia Gutierrez
I don't like Jack in the Box. I love Jack.
Josh Leva
We are obsessed. Yes.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. So I'm a. I'm a number six ultimate cheeseburger.
Matt
Oh.
Natalia Gutierrez
With ranch and curly fries.
Matt
Okay. Okay, hold on.
Natalia Gutierrez
Two tacos.
Matt
This is if you're a true Jack in the Box fan. Do you remember when the ciabatta burgers.
Josh Leva
Yeah. Chicken ciabatta burger were insanely good.
Matt
So good. I miss them so bad.
Josh Leva
I used to get them every single time. Every single time.
Matt
Okay. He's a true Jack in the Box fan.
Natalia Gutierrez
I used to. I have checks under my name from Jack. I'm the fan. No, you were the employee. Employee when I. When I first met Josh. You know, you start to get to know each other and stuff. And I remember we went out to the movies, and then I dropped them off together. Yeah.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
I dropped them off home, and, you know, we went in for it, whatever. And then. And then after, I was like, I'm actually a little hungry. He goes, dude, there's a Jack right there. And I said, you love Jack, too. And, yeah, I bought him Jack and I brought him back home. And the next day I. I asked. Asked his mom for his hand in marriage. Yeah, I cannot with you guys.
Josh Leva
Yeah, he makes fun of me because my favorite sandwich is the sourdough Jack.
Matt
That one's a good one. I love sourdough.
Josh Leva
I feel like people who appreciate culinary.
Natalia Gutierrez
The way you said that. So cute is he makes fun of me.
Matt
That means he cares about your opinion.
Josh Leva
Yeah, like, I care. And I don't care because he's bullied me about it. And I will still get it.
Matt
But I also. I didn't grow up on McDonald's. I grew up on Jack and the.
Natalia Gutierrez
Raw, so I think that's the thing.
Josh Leva
But I love a Big Mac.
Matt
Yeah. Yeah, same.
Josh Leva
You cry.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, Big Mac.
Josh Leva
I love a Big.
Matt
I'm a chef, and I'll still eat the McDonald's chicken nuggets. Like, I love them.
Josh Leva
Can you make chicken nuggets from scratch?
Matt
Yes.
Josh Leva
Wow.
Matt
I can.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
It's not that hard.
Josh Leva
It's not.
Matt
No.
Josh Leva
Can you make them into little dinosaurs?
Matt
Yeah. Oh, I grew up on the dinosaur.
Josh Leva
Chicken nuggets without using little stencil. You can't. Can you form it?
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, no, no. They come frozen full.
Josh Leva
No, she makes them from scratch.
Natalia Gutierrez
No, but she grew up with the Tyson ones, right?
Matt
I think they're Tyson or. Yeah, yeah, the frozen ones.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, yeah. No, we're. We asked. We asked you why fast food? We were hoping you would say Jack. Everybody knows on the podcast we're obsessed fans.
Josh Leva
It's a good thing here.
Natalia Gutierrez
Huge Jack fans.
Matt
I belong.
Josh Leva
You belong. Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
100. And the fact that you said agro points. Yeah.
Josh Leva
And why are we counting in and out as a fast food restaurant? Which, by the way, I agree with you.
Matt
I don't think it's.
Josh Leva
No, But I want to know, like, why you think that?
Matt
Because everything is fresh. Everything every single day. I like. I have friends that work for in and out, so it's, like, so good. Fast food is frozen, like, frozen food most of the time, so I don't consider it. It's like a healthier version of a fast food. Better quality, the drive through. Yeah, yeah. But I love in and out.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, my gosh I crave in and out.
Matt
Okay, hold on, hold on, hold on. What's your in and out order? This is serious.
Josh Leva
All right, like when I'm just, like, letting loose.
Matt
When you're letting loose.
Josh Leva
Okay, Three by three.
Matt
Okay.
Josh Leva
Buns extra toasted.
Matt
Okay.
Josh Leva
Chopped chilies.
Matt
Okay.
Josh Leva
Whole raw onion. Whole grilled onion.
Natalia Gutierrez
Same. Same.
Josh Leva
Animal style fries with chopped chilies on top.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yep.
Josh Leva
Light lemonade.
Matt
That's a good order.
Josh Leva
Because I'm on a diet.
Natalia Gutierrez
It's a great order. Yeah. I just don't have the audacity to tell the drive thru lady or the person taking my order that, that and buns extra toasted, all they gotta do.
Josh Leva
Is keep it on the grill a little longer.
Natalia Gutierrez
I know, but just saying that, it's just like, really, bro?
Josh Leva
She asked me, don't knock him.
Matt
I'm sure you have your little quirks.
Natalia Gutierrez
When he was saying, I was like, dang, bun's actually toasted. Like, that actually sounds like.
Matt
And then he tries them and then he's like, right, bro?
Josh Leva
They just keep him on the grill a little longer, bro. It's not like they're going out of the either way. And honestly, sometimes what's light living? What are they doing? When I say a bun sucker toasted, I get a little nod. They did that face. They give me one of those. Oh, light lemonade is diet lemonade. It's diet lemonade.
Natalia Gutierrez
How do they make a diet. How do they make Diet Coke with artificial sweeteners?
Josh Leva
Bingo. See?
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, there is one like that.
Josh Leva
Yes.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, I didn't know that.
Matt
But if you're not. If you don't need it, don't get regular lemonade.
Natalia Gutierrez
I need it.
Matt
It.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. Always ice soda. Always.
Josh Leva
I only drink diet beverages.
Natalia Gutierrez
Only drink diet beverages.
Matt
Coke and Coke Zero. Like love. But if we're in Mexico, it's regular Coke.
Josh Leva
Really?
Matt
For sure.
Josh Leva
I still won't do it.
Natalia Gutierrez
I still won't do it.
Josh Leva
I still won't do it.
Matt
You won't have regular coke in me.
Natalia Gutierrez
I actually don't care. The fact I have that much sugar. I can't.
Josh Leva
I've scarred myself. I don't even like the way sugar tastes. Like when I taste like a real sugar Coke, I'm like, that is. That's. That's made in the lab versus, like the, you know, sucralose.
Matt
Am I on the right podcast? Are you serious right now? We don't like sugar.
Josh Leva
I respect it.
Natalia Gutierrez
I know. Like, I rather have my sugars and other things.
Matt
Like fruitage.
Natalia Gutierrez
Like fruit.
Josh Leva
I love it. Yeah, yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
What did I eat this morning? A whole thing of fruit. Remember I offered you a mango. You said no.
Josh Leva
I said no. I don't.
Matt
Okay. So when you guys order drinks, are you guys just like straight tequila, soda, lime?
Josh Leva
That's what I do. That's what I do. Occasionally I'll do an old Fashioned. Oh, yeah, for sure. Exactly.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
That'll be like my channel treat, but not 35 grams. An espresso martini. Like, I'll do one of those, but for the most part say espresso. Espresso.
Matt
Okay.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, she thought you said with an.
Matt
X. I was like, let this not be an espresso, man.
Natalia Gutierrez
I said it. I've said it before.
Josh Leva
Espresso.
Natalia Gutierrez
Espresso.
Josh Leva
Espresso.
Natalia Gutierrez
I've said it.
Matt
Espresso.
Josh Leva
Espresso.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, no, I just rather have my sugar somewhere else. You know what I mean? Like, know.
Matt
I'll make sure never to bring desserts ever.
Natalia Gutierrez
No, you can.
Matt
It's fine. It's fine. I make a banger thres cake. But you know what?
Natalia Gutierrez
It's cake.
Matt
I guess no sugar.
Josh Leva
I don't. We don't have much of a sweet tooth. Like, we'll have a bite of it and then we'll kind of move on.
Natalia Gutierrez
Well, I'll have it. The thing with me is, like, anytime that there's sweets, like cakes, panes, like that, even like tamal, which I can't. Sweet thing for me. Yeah, sure. With the rais. Have you had the raisins? I can't eat it with soda. I can't do any of that stuff. Especially like a cake. I need basil leche.
Matt
I drink it with milk too.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, you have to. But when there's no milk, I'm not eating it. It's just. Why am I making myself thirsty?
Josh Leva
I'll still eat it. But I get you, right? Yeah, I get you.
Natalia Gutierrez
And like, put ice in my milk too.
Matt
I put ice in my milk too.
Natalia Gutierrez
You have to.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Matt
Sick.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
Do you put ketchup on your eggs?
Matt
I used to. Not anymore.
Josh Leva
Not anymore.
Matt
I put it on the. The side. Are you like on the top?
Josh Leva
No, I'm on shell.
Matt
Yeah, on the top.
Natalia Gutierrez
Dress if he orders Toasty buns. No, no, no, no.
Josh Leva
Extra toasty some. That's my girl. I eat it. But I do turkey sausage.
Matt
Oh, my God, you guys are so healthy.
Josh Leva
Turkey, 2 oz. Turkey sausage, 4 eggs, 100 grams of egg white. That's my breakfast.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, I'll put. I'll put ketchup.
Matt
Sugar free.
Natalia Gutierrez
Ketchup.
Matt
Hypothetical sugar free. Absolutely not. Hypothetical question. If you guys are married, to which he is. Yes, but hypothetical. Okay. Respects.
Josh Leva
Oh, okay.
Matt
Okay. If you were hypothetically married to a chef, you're saying you would still eat the way that you do or you would eat whatever she makes?
Josh Leva
That's a great question.
Matt
Because sugar free and like, I don't eat sugar. Like. Like they're always making food like Lo que Caiga. Are you telling me you're not gonna eat that way anymore?
Josh Leva

Okay.
Josh Leva
Feed papa.
Matt
Okay. What about you?
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. No, she or he is going to have to get used to me.
Josh Leva
Hypothetically, right?
Natalia Gutierrez
Hypothetically.
Josh Leva
Hypothetically. Don't.
Natalia Gutierrez
We don't know in that world if I'm gay or not.
Josh Leva
We don't know. So hypothetically.
Natalia Gutierrez
Hypothetically. She or he.
Josh Leva
That's fair. And you know what? I respect you for that. That's a true hypothetical, right?
Natalia Gutierrez
That's a real hypothetical. We're talking hypothetically.
Josh Leva
Hypothetically.
Natalia Gutierrez
Hypothetically.
Josh Leva
Hypothetically.
Natalia Gutierrez
No. Yeah, of course I'd eat everything. And look, when I say that we don't eat sugar and stuff like that, like, I do have sugar. I do. It's just there's some things that I. I can't fathom having. Like. Like I can't fathom having 35 grams in a can of Coke.
Josh Leva
Trust me, that's kind of crazy.
Natalia Gutierrez
But just. It's just, you know, some things, everything is going on balance.
Matt
What about when you were younger?
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, Everything. Yeah, but when I was younger, when I was younger I wouldn't. I wouldn't blow like the way I bloat now.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Brisk.
Josh Leva
Brisk was the.
Natalia Gutierrez
The raspberry bro Costco when they had a deluxe pizza with a brisk. Insane stupid goal.
Matt
Shout out to Costco for still keeping their hot dogs the same price.
Josh Leva
$50, baby.
Matt
$50.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Matt
Shout out to the CEO though.
Josh Leva
Yeah. He said he was never care. He didn't care.
Natalia Gutierrez
Just like the CEO. CEO from Arizona Iced Tea.
Josh Leva
99 cents.
Natalia Gutierrez
99 cents. He doesn't care if he loses.
Matt
Also, Ben and Jerry's is a good CEO.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, really?
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
What'd he do?
Matt
He's just like good. He's like a good person.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh really?
Josh Leva
Yeah, he's like all about like human rights and like very like political stance. Like he really voices his opinion and he's like that.
Natalia Gutierrez
Dang, that's tight.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
He makes a great half baked ice cream. Have you had a half baked?
Josh Leva
No. Too much sugar.
Natalia Gutierrez
So if I'm half sugar, I'm going to go all out.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
And woke up.
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
And I feel like last week. Cuz it's been. I feel like I'm screaming a lot in this episode.
Matt
I feel like last week my ears hurt.
Josh Leva
Just my ears are bleeding.
Matt
I came here to get yelled at.
Natalia Gutierrez
I feel like last week when I ran the marathon. So that whole week medi where I'm eating sugar D. You know what was my number one thing that I ate the most? I had yogurt land for three days straight.
Matt
Oh, I love your girl.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. Just plain tart.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Fruity Pebbles. That's pretty long pieces of mango.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, it's delicious. I craved it like a. Yeah, I craved it. But yeah. So anyways, the last question that I want to know. I even talked to Jess right before we even started filming. I said I wanted to ask her what her. What her favorite Marisco dishes were.
Matt
Cocktail de Camaron.
Josh Leva
Really?
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leva
It's a great answer.
Matt
Or fried shrimp tacos. Oh, Mexico. Like from a Marisco spot.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Fresh from tacos with like our own coleslaw. Right?
Matt
Yeah, it's like a salsa and I think it has like cabbage inside.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
Like, I think the most popular fried shrimp tacos are wahoos. No, no, no. Quatro vientos on Olympic.
Natalia Gutierrez
I heard about it.
Matt
It's a food truck, but then they insanely good. Yeah.
Josh Leva
Is there anything you won't eat?
Matt
That's a good question.
Josh Leva
I'm a podcaster.
Matt
That I won't Eat, like, absolutely will not put in my mouth. No.
Natalia Gutierrez
You need reptiles and. And insects.
Matt
I'll try everything.
Josh Leva
You kind of have to be willing to try everything. Right. You limit yourself to what you can create.
Matt
I've heard of people eating armadillo. Like, I'm good.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, I'm good. We are developed humans.
Matt
I think I wouldn't eat like. Like, tarantula. Like, insects are not my thing. I had. I had insects when I was in Oaxaca, and they're called beachos there. And it was. I was like. But they do use ants, and they blend the ants to create a rim for your drinks.
Natalia Gutierrez
I've had that. That's okay.
Matt
So you have, like, an anti rim with.
Josh Leva
And it's just crunchy. It's like, kind of like.
Matt
It's like zingy. Like, have you ever, like, licked a battery? That's what it tastes like.
Josh Leva
Wow.
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Have you licked the battery before?
Josh Leva
I. I'm afraid to say I have multiple times.
Natalia Gutierrez
Me too.
Josh Leva
Yeah. I was a kid.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
Yeah. You, like, lick the battery?
Natalia Gutierrez
Oh, yeah. Because you hear about it, you know, ever since you're even more of a kid, you're like, oh, what the. You do Just lick it.
Josh Leva
Get superpowers.
Natalia Gutierrez
It has to be the fat battery with the two things on top like that. Those are the good batteries.
Matt
What are your guys's favorite monies? Are you guys money school people?
Sebastian Robles
Sorry, before we. Before we move on. People listening, please don't lick batteries. Thank you.
Josh Leva
Thank you, Jessica. Good note. Guys, if you're thinking about it, don't.
Natalia Gutierrez
I'm scared right now.
Josh Leva
What you're saying, right, it was like.
Natalia Gutierrez
A very serious feel.
Josh Leva
Like the principal was, like, on the intercom or something. I was like, oh, my God, she is. No, that's a good. What's it called? Disclaimer.
Matt
Yeah, disclaimer.
Natalia Gutierrez
Don't eat or lick them.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Matt
I. I asked, what is your guys's favorite money schools?
Josh Leva
Oh, Josh. Yeah.
Matt
Yeah.
Josh Leva
I love.
Matt
Okay.
Natalia Gutierrez
I love aguachiles. Yeah. I. I feel like the Coco del de Camaron, where my mom's from, that's like. I feel like that's the most popular Marisco dish in her little town. But you know what's crazy is that I don't know if it's just Jalisco, but in other places when I first started.
Matt
Are we all from Jalisco?
Josh Leva
No, my family's from Sinalo.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
Oh, from Sinaloa.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
You see the ring?
Natalia Gutierrez
Bad boy.
Josh Leva
You see the ring?
Natalia Gutierrez
No, but when I. When I started having Other cocktails, they wouldn't make them hot. And I feel like when I grew up my was always kind of warm and hot.
Josh Leva
And you like that?
Matt
Yeah, No, I don't like warm cooked. Yeah, my mom makes warm cocktail. I like them cold.
Natalia Gutierrez
No. Yeah, I love them cold. But that's something that I was like, what the hell? Like I thought they were hot, but no, they're, they're, they're cold. The majority.
Josh Leva
Well, they're like, they're like room temp, right? They're like, they're so good.
Natalia Gutierrez
They're so refreshing.
Josh Leva
Are they cold?
Matt
No, they're cold.
Josh Leva
They're cold.
Matt
They're cold.
Natalia Gutierrez
I put hella ketchup on mine and the salimon. The chip.
Josh Leva
Yeah. Little crackers.
Natalia Gutierrez
I know, but there's a name that they have the chips. No, Sal, I don't know. Something like that. Yeah, it's bomb.
Josh Leva
I'm. I'm so hungry.
Natalia Gutierrez
Okay, okay, last question. Wait. What are you going to do?
Josh Leva
You know what you're going to cook tonight?
Matt
I don't know what I'm cooking tonight.
Josh Leva
You cook every night?
Matt
I every, like every other. I need a break to. My back might be hurting.
Natalia Gutierrez
Give that scrub daddy a break.
Matt
Yeah, because I have to wash all the dishes after. I don't know. But you know what I've been craving? I've been craving cochinta pivil. Have you ever had.
Josh Leva
I don't even know what that is.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, it's a type of.
Matt
Shredded meat.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
Kind of like a birria type of like situation. And then. Yeah, with tacos.
Natalia Gutierrez
They're really good.
Matt
Pickled onion, cilantro.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, you'd love them, bro. There's a place called Guisados.
Josh Leva
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
So that's what they serve and stuff like that, that they, they, they tell you how spicy do you want your taco? And when I used to do hair in downtown la, remember when I.
Matt
They can get spicy. They use spicy chili oil.
Natalia Gutierrez
So I did, I think I told the guy the spiciest. He goes, are you sure? I was like, yeah, of course, bro. Like every time they say are you sure? I'm like, yeah, don't think to me, yeah, like whatever. So I did that. It was the spicy I've ever had in my life, kid you not. I was dying in there seas.
Josh Leva
And I pride ourselves in into like being able to consume like the copious amount of hot sauce. We love hot sauce. And we also pride ourselves in like not being picky eaters. Like we're not picky at all. Anything. And that's kind of what we bond over. Like, we don't just put it in front of us. Could you date a picky eater?
Matt
No.
Josh Leva
Is that a red flag?
Matt
Absolutely not. I don't know if it's a red flag, but actually, no.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, it is a red flag.
Matt
Yeah, it is.
Josh Leva
Like, he's like, no tomatoes, babe. No onions, no mushrooms, please. Like, no, it's a texture thing. If he hits you with it's a texture thing thing.
Matt
No, absolutely not. To the. Straight to jail.
Josh Leva
What about.
Natalia Gutierrez
He says, I don't really like tomatoes.
Matt
Straight to jail. I feel like I'd have to sneak it. Unless you have an allergy. I'd have to sneak them in. I also.
Natalia Gutierrez
But then being allergic to tomatoes is red flag too. Like, how you allergic to red tomatoes, dog.
Josh Leva
Fair point, fair point, right?
Matt
No, I just. When someone says they don't like something, like a lot of people don't like mushrooms, I genuinely think it's because they've never had good mushrooms. Like, or they don't know.
Josh Leva
Is there such a stink? Because I think all mushrooms are good.
Matt
I love mushrooms.
Josh Leva
Yeah, but a lot of people don't.
Matt
No, a lot of people don't like them. It's really easy to up mushrooms, like, well, they'll get chewy and. And all that stuff.
Josh Leva
Oh, really?
Matt
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh Leva
So I love like a red wine soaked mushroom.
Natalia Gutierrez
I love mushrooms because they're. They're a low carb and they're filling. Yeah. And they're feeling. It's like instead of rice, just eat a lot like, like mints, mushrooms and eat that instead of rice. It's even less. It's even less calories.
Josh Leva
We should have a cook off.
Natalia Gutierrez
We should. I wish the studio was bigger, but we have like a kitchen.
Josh Leva
Your up dog.
Matt
A grilling competition.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, I can see her a really good.
Matt
Okay, hold on. You had a question for me? Don't lose your train of thought.
Josh Leva
He just did. It's gone. It's so gone.
Matt
He said one last question and then you. I don't think he asked us.
Sebastian Robles
I think it was the.
Josh Leva
And you said there was something else.
Matt
No, there was something else.
Natalia Gutierrez
No, there probably is just gone. Good luck with making me remember that. I'm a kind of like drive only. No, reverse type of guy.
Matt
Yeah, yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
I just, you know, I won't look back. Yeah, it'll come to me. Maybe. Maybe.
Josh Leva
Would you. Would you want it ideally, would you want to date like a chef? Is that somebody you would like, want to or is that not even like.
Matt
An importance I don't think it matters, honestly. Probably not, because I want to be the one in the kitchen. I don't want you to be in the kitchen. Like, that's my safe space. Yeah.
Sebastian Robles
Don't.
Matt
Don't try to compete with me on that. But it's fun. I think it'd be really fun.
Josh Leva
Yeah. To try just both of y'all getting down.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
No, but I'm really glad that, like, me and him were never picky.
Matt
That's good.
Natalia Gutierrez
And even, like, when we go to.
Matt
Restaurants, you guys were raised, right. Yeah, well, that's what I'm saying.
Natalia Gutierrez
We really never had an option.
Josh Leva
Wow.
Natalia Gutierrez
I didn't realize.
Josh Leva
Maybe that's where it came from.
Matt
Yeah, of course.
Natalia Gutierrez
It did come from trauma.
Josh Leva
Trauma. It did come from that, and I'm so grateful for it.
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. Like, if I didn't eat, like, I would get in trouble.
Josh Leva
Like, imagine you have somebody like Natalia like, present this incredible masterpiece of a dish, and then some guy goes, sorry, I don't do tomatoes. Oh, sorry, Matt. That was not a. That was not a dig. Matt. That was not a dig. That was not a dig.
Matt
Shots fired, walk out.
Josh Leva
But, like, you get what I'm saying?
Natalia Gutierrez
Like, that's behind the camera, you guys. You.
Josh Leva
Yeah, just kidding. Matt.
Natalia Gutierrez
He's starting to get into tomatoes now, right?
Josh Leva
Well, we bullied him into it.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, you guys did.
Josh Leva
We did.
Natalia Gutierrez
Well, just like our parents did, too.
Josh Leva
Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I had no.
Natalia Gutierrez
I had no options. And, like, if I didn't want something, especially again, that's what it was again. And it's hot as outside. And then my dad's, like. While he's ch. Chando. The what? I'm like, man, he put on.
Josh Leva
Didn't even wash his hands.
Natalia Gutierrez
Nothing. M. Which I. Which, honestly, I don't like saying. He's muo. Cuz he worked so hard, you know? And he'd come back, my dad, he would come back, like, just kind of, like, starving. Just starving. And obviously somewhat dirty. Right. Because of what he did. And I just remember that. And I'm just like. And nowadays, like, when you move out of your house, you don't have those dishes anymore. You don't have the caldo de rey, the menudos, the we don't.
Josh Leva
She do.
Matt
Yeah, yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
But, like, you know what I mean? Like, those dishes that actually take all day to do.
Matt
But that's what I'm saying. Like, bringing that back, because that dies. And then when you have kids, or you have kids, your grand. Your mom, like.
Josh Leva
I'll hire You.
Matt
Oh my God.
Natalia Gutierrez
No. Yeah, it's. It's crazy. We live in these times where I, I was just thinking to myself the other day, I was telling my wife we don't go. Like I was home all week and you got everything. You never went out other than just.
Josh Leva
To come to work and got everything you wanted.
Natalia Gutierrez
And I ate and I, you know.
Matt
You'Re saying you got, you postmated a lot of stuff.
Natalia Gutierrez
Everything. And it's not just food. Anything.
Josh Leva
I haven't stepped foot inside a grocery store in years.
Natalia Gutierrez
In years.
Josh Leva
I instacart everything, Natalia.
Natalia Gutierrez
I, I kid you not. And like I, I, I thought about and I was like, okay, cool. Like we live in a world where life is convenient and like, well, but.
Matt
That'S how you have to get depressed.
Natalia Gutierrez
I know, I know. And that's what I thought about.
Matt
People get depressed just staying in their home. You know how important it is just to run. Like running errands make you feel better.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yep. So I came to a conclusion.
Josh Leva
I think you're right.
Natalia Gutierrez
Thanks for saying that. Because I, I told my wife, I was like, oh my God. I. When's the last time I went to the grocery store? Sepa. I don't even know how that sounds anymore. The tick, tick, ding ding when it goes over the scanner. Oh, it's been months, bro. Damn.
Matt
Well, at least you guys are conscious and aware about it now. So.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. And I'm like, okay, I need to stop doing that. I need to stop instacarting groceries. You know, it's just sometimes when, Sometimes.
Matt
I am busy are actually high as well. Yeah, like not the pesa. Like all the convenience fees.
Natalia Gutierrez
Well, even like sometimes when I have to go to Costco. Cuz Costco has a lot of stuff that I need in bulk. I'm like, I don't want to go because the traffic, parking, the parking, the.
Josh Leva
Ragged, the raggedy ass cart.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. And then, and then you, and then you get to Costco and then it's like, it's, it's. Honestly, there's actual shopping cart lanes now where it's like people go this way, people go that way. And then you, once you're finally done, you have to wait in line. Yeah.
Josh Leva
That's crazy. Oh, thank you.
Natalia Gutierrez
And after you're already done. And they don't even have like samples like that anymore. When I was young.
Matt
What are you telling us? You're telling us that you do want to go out?
Natalia Gutierrez
I want to go out.
Matt
Okay.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, I want to go out because I feel like it would. I I missed that.
Josh Leva
But we don't go out because then you start playing through your head all the steps that it takes. You got to just do it.
Natalia Gutierrez
I know.
Josh Leva
You can't think about the parking and the this and that.
Natalia Gutierrez
That. Yeah.
Matt
You know, that's called something.
Josh Leva
Is it?
Natalia Gutierrez
I don't know.
Josh Leva
That's why a lot of people don't do a lot of things in life because they start like, like overanalyzing.
Matt
Oh, those are irrational fears.
Natalia Gutierrez
Is that what it is? Yeah.
Matt
Yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
So.
Matt
But that goes into more. That goes more into relationships, why we brought you here. Irrational and rational. So, like, has any of that happened yet for you to be scared to go? Like, sure. Yeah. But like I said, it goes more into relationships.
Natalia Gutierrez
Got it. Got it. No. Yeah. So I, I, I want to go back. Back too. Albertons. Hey, guys, remember me?
Matt
We support you. We're supporting. We're here. Take a, Take a photo next time. Take a quick.
Natalia Gutierrez
Who you saying that to? Who. Who's going to cashier? The shopping cart girl that pushes them. Hey, guys, isn't there a Tic Tac? That's.
Josh Leva
That ain't worry about you, bro.
Natalia Gutierrez
That guy.
Matt
Hey, but that used to be a thing where.
Josh Leva
I know. It really was like, you.
Matt
You used to know the people at the store.
Josh Leva
Yeah, yeah.
Natalia Gutierrez
The other day I went to Zara, bro. The one in Tanga, right here in the Valley. El.
Matt
El.
Natalia Gutierrez
And the Zar doesn't have cashiers anymore.
Josh Leva
No, it's all, it's all.
Natalia Gutierrez
It's crazy. Check this out. Yeah.
Matt
You put everything in, like, scans it for you.
Josh Leva
It just knows. It knows before you even put it in.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, yeah. When I got to the thing, I just knew. I said, oh, someone for forgot to check out. Out. No, that was my Already like that.
Josh Leva
It's wild.
Natalia Gutierrez
I was like, what the.
Josh Leva
But then you have to take the hangers off yourself. You gotta bag yourself. I'm like, bro, where's the customer service?
Natalia Gutierrez
No, I instacarted someone for me to do that for me.
Josh Leva
Okay, good.
Matt
Oh, my God.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah.
Josh Leva
Yeah. Good move. I would never do that.
Natalia Gutierrez
No. But yeah, it's like technology so crazy now.
Josh Leva
Yeah. Yeah. And it's only gonna get more commute.
Natalia Gutierrez
I know. It's only gonna get crazy.
Matt
It's a blessing and a curse.
Natalia Gutierrez
I know. Let's not even talk about Amazon.
Matt
Oh, my, my God.
Natalia Gutierrez
Amazon.
Josh Leva
You know, same day.
Natalia Gutierrez
Same day.
Matt
Is that still going up?
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. Or at least overnight it is, depending.
Matt
On how much money you spend. It's like a same day.
Natalia Gutierrez
Dude, I'll order something on Amazon. I'll go to sleep, I'll wake up. It's from my front door.
Matt
But see.
Natalia Gutierrez
Merry Christmas.
Matt
I believe that if we continue using this is like, how are we going to be able to interact in person in the real world?
Natalia Gutierrez
I don't know.
Josh Leva
Thank God we have a podcast. Yes. Yeah. Kind of forces us to.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, technically, like we don't. We just stay in like little, little bubble capsules in our house like this with the two feeding us in our belly button. But, but we exer. But thankfully we have a podcast cuz we exercise our vocabulary and our speech.
Matt
I love that, the way you guys articulate your words.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah, there you go. And I think that's why sometimes we're even more like bubbly because, like, we haven't talked in days. So like, you're saving everything for days. Like, can't wait to talk to Josh. Yeah. You guys remember me? You think they'll say anything to me at Albertson?
Josh Leva
I, I. You should do that just to see what happens.
Natalia Gutierrez
Yeah. No, yeah. Natalia, what a pleasure having you. That was a lot of fun, a lot of laughs, More laughter than I thought. You're a funny girl.

Natalia Gutierrez
Whoa. Imagine if she died.
Josh Leva
Is there a cash price?
Matt
Yeah. A quarter of a million dollars. Ooh.
Josh Leva
The way, the way, the way you came into. You look. A quarter million dollars, girl.
Matt
You guys, I can't. I signed an NDA. I can't say.
Josh Leva
