Josh Lea

Pizario

Josh Lea
Post Malone is on tour. I love favorite Post Malone album. 3, 2, 1.

Pizario
So you guys are going to be taken care of. If you decide to, like, you know, something happens, you can't go last minute. They got you guys.
Josh Lea

Pizario

Pizario
Out se geek and shout out you.
Josh Lea
I'm going to use it.
Jess
Let me be honest.
Josh Lea
Every guest is a privilege.
Pizario
Do we want to go there?
Josh Lea
Gotcha. I'm out here looking fresh with the corduroy. Yeah. You have two, ladies and gentlemen, let me just tell you. She just like that.
Pizario
Wow. We in it, bro. We're going to hit 200 this year.
Josh Lea
Yeah, I know.
Pizario
That's going to be sick.
Josh Lea
We have to. Have to do something.
Pizario
It's got to be.
Josh Lea
I know. Kind of. Say it.
Pizario
Say it again.
Josh Lea
But I've been waiting for 200. I feel like we should do like a block party or something.
Pizario
Damn. Just a massive ass block party.
Josh Lea
Yeah. Anyways, I feel like I haven't filmed it in a while. You look the same.
Pizario
Thanks. Likewise.
Josh Lea
Just handsome.
Pizario
Just had a birthday. Maybe.
Josh Lea
Happy birthday, Josh. Can everybody we say happy birthday to Josh Lea, who was. It was Christmas.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
And then two days later, it was your birthday.
Pizario
Isn't that overwhelming? Like, you kind of, like, felt that a little bit too, didn't you? Like, I grew up with that. It's like my birthday. I'm sorry. It's like Christmas, my birthday, the New Year's. I'm like, dude, I'm over it. I'm over it. I'm over you.
Josh Lea
A lot of celebration.
Pizario
A lot of celebration.
Josh Lea
I kind of got used to it already. Knowing you for, you know, almost a decade, always doing the same thing every year. A lot of people only saw that. That I got you a birthday gift, I think.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
You posted it on. On social media.
Pizario
Oh, yeah.
Josh Lea
They didn't know that I got you also a Christmas gift, which I did. But, you know, that's just between us.
Pizario
And what. And what did I tell you when you text, you're like, I have your birthday and Christmas gift. And I said, if it. They're in the same wrapping paper, give it back.
Josh Lea
Was it.
Pizario
It was not.
Josh Lea
Yeah. Christmas was Christmas, birthday with birthday.
Pizario
Love it, bro. I. I'm just going to preface this. We just got back from Vegas. I'm still feeling the repercussions of, like, the partying. I feel a little slow, so just bear with me. Okay. I feel like. I'm sorry if I'm a little more, like, snappy at you. Like, I'm sorry. Like, I'm. But I'm just not in it right now, dude. Right. I need one more week to just set myself. Like, I'm not to reset. Okay.
Josh Lea
I don't think people mind. Because you're slow is an average fast.
Pizario
Thank you.
Josh Lea
You're welcome.
Pizario
Hey, and you're slow. It's an average slow.
Josh Lea
I know.
Pizario
And I don't just say that, like, lightly.
Josh Lea
I know. That's why I try not to be slow.
Pizario
I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding.
Josh Lea
Happy New Year's, everybody. It feels actually incredible to start another new. Like, it's just hitting me right now. Starting a new year.
Pizario
Yeah, new.
Josh Lea
This is the first show of. Of. Of.
Pizario
Of the year 2025.
Josh Lea
2025. I can't believe it. Living on this earth for almost 35 years. It's my birthday on May, by the way.
Pizario
Yep.
Josh Lea
But it just. It's an incredible thing. Jess, still with us? You really. God, you really stuck with us, huh?
Pizario
You.
Josh Lea
You must really like us. No, Jess, it's an honor to work with you. It's an honor for you to be here. I don't even. Honestly, I. It does give me a little emotional that we have, Jess. And I just. I absolutely love you being here, Jess. It's not the same without you anymore. And I'm so glad that we made that decision.
Pizario
I don't ever want to.
Josh Lea
A year ago, I don't know when.
Pizario
It was, when we were in Vegas, I posted the photo of, like, the collage of all of guest. And it really, like, I. I don't think the year really hit me until I posted that. And just, like, writing the caption and stuff, I was like, wow, we had an incredible 2024. An incredible, incredible year, bro. Like, just all the guests that we had come on, everybody was just absolutely incredible. And I know that podcasts are kind of like a dime a dozen now, but I feel so fortunate of the platform that we've built. And I don't take this for granted in any way, and seeing that post really put it all into perspective for me. Yeah.
Josh Lea
A thousand percent. A thousand percent.
Pizario
And then I. I. So, like, obviously I wrote that and I, like, showed you and stuff, but, like, I felt like I. I needed to say more, and I didn't. But I really wanted to express, like, my gratitude for everybody that, you know, helps La platica. Be La platica. Down from our team, down to our guests, down to our. Our audience who watches and supports us. And. Yeah, I. I love this photo. This photo right here. I'm, like, proud of this dude. I'm so proud of this.
Josh Lea
I'm gonna hang that up somewhere.
Pizario
Got to.
Josh Lea
Yeah, I have to print.
Pizario
I think we have one for every year, so we should. Oh, we should print those out, bro. That'd be really cool.
Josh Lea
It would be really cool. And just like you said, I'm extremely grateful of. Of what we've created for everybody in this room. But most importantly, and we always say it, but everybody, for you guys back at home, the continuous amount of love and support that. That, that you guys give us is incredible. It's actually incredible. And I'm. We. We're truly blessed. 100 and, like, starting this new year, I'm like, oh, my God. Like, it's almost like I'm so excited, but it feels almost like, really heavy on me.
Pizario
What do you mean?
Josh Lea
Like, heavy as in, like, wow, we're about to do it again.
Pizario
Another 360. Right?
Josh Lea
And, like, it's not scary, but it's like, I know the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes and in front of the scenes. Is that what you say? And it's a lot.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
You know, we love what we do and stuff like that, but, like, just thinking about it now, I'm like, like, basically I'm telling myself, like, hold on tight, you know?
Pizario
You know, I don't know. I'm just kind of like, Just bear with me here. You know how people say there's, like, the Sunday scaries? You know what I mean? Like, every Sunday, for whatever reason, people feel this, like, doom and gloomy to start the new week. I wonder if there's something like that for the new year, because I know what you're saying. Like, there's a little bit of, like, this, like, anxiety, this little fear, this little, like. But I also think we're looking at it in, like, such a big, like, live.
Josh Lea
That's why I just gotta take it weeks by week.
Pizario
This is the fresh start. Right. And that's the advice I was gonna give.
Josh Lea
It's just taking it, you know, the whole La Platica team. We have so much in store for you guys. So many changes that we've been talking about that we'll share with you guys, you know, soon. But, yeah, man, like I said, and that's just like, life in general. Just take it day by day.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
And that's one of my New Year's resolutions too. Last year's was like, spend time more with my family.
Pizario
Which you did.
Josh Lea
Which I did. This time. It's, it's. It's not even a New Year's resolution anymore. It's who I am. It's the way of life that I need to. And I feel I, I'm just gonna keep doing that, obviously, because that's. I feel like the right thing to do.
Pizario
It is.
Josh Lea
But one thing for me as well is like, take things day by day. We sometimes really kind of like, you know, like you said, you get the Sunday scaries. And we try grasping life at, you know, as a whole. As a whole. When for what? What does that do? Yeah, we can have goals.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
We can have like, things that we want to aspire to have or things to do, you know, and that's okay. But take it day by day because I do feel like the man above has a planner ready for you. So just enjoy every single second. Because honestly, at the end of the day, and it's so cliche to say, but life is not granted tomorrow or in the next hour. You know, it's that crazy. Nothing is promised. So for me, I just. And another thing that I want to do is I really take care of, you know, who's involved in my life.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
And take care of myself as well. Right off the jump, doing. I'm doing the Rose bowl half marathon.
Pizario
Love that for you.
Josh Lea
I'm doing a lot of exercising and then I just, I just got an opportunity to do the full marathon. And that's crazy. In March, which I'm really low key, scared about, but not really scared about running it. It's more like the, the preparation that goes before it. So.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Yeah. So I just really want to take care of myself because I don't want to be 60, 70 years old and like, oh, I wish I, you know, it was a little bit more active.
Pizario
That is genuinely my goal too. Like, dude, I've always been into my health and fitness. It's always been like a top priority for me.
Josh Lea
Right, I see that.
Pizario
Thank you for noticing. But I will say these past two years have been the biggest blessings in my life in the sense of, like, just so much has happened in my career and in my, in my, in my life. And I've got an opportunity to like, travel and, and party and have a great time. But I've noticed that I've let my, like, my health and well, being kind of slip a little bit. And I have never felt I feel. I don't feel my best, bro. And I hate that. So this year I am putting it like, bro, this is. It's the first thing I'm putting before anything else, before my work, before anything. I need to do that because I want to be performing at my best. And I. If I don't prioritize that, I'm gonna. I'm selling myself short by not doing it. So I'm excited. My goal. And I haven't. This is gonna sound really like self centered, conceited, but I don't care. This is a safe space. I haven't posted a shirtless selfie photo on Instagram.
Josh Lea
Is that what's bothering you?
Pizario
Let me speak. In about two years, maybe three.
Josh Lea
Jessica said. I can't believe he said that.
Pizario
No, no, no. And it's not about the selfie. It's not about the selfie. Okay?
Josh Lea
I know.
Pizario
And it's not. It just, I. I don't feel confident. I want to feel proud because I'm holding myself to a standard that I have not been holding myself to. It's not about the thousands of likes I'm going to get. Okay? It's not about that. It's not about the validation. It's a validation for myself that I'm just missing. I want to feel confident, take it off my shirt, and then feeling good about it, you know? And I'm not saying you need to have the most perfect physique to feel that, but I know the standard I have of myself and I don't. I'm not even remotely close to that dude. So I need a, like, selfies coming soon, shirtless. My goal is.
Josh Lea
I'm sure we'll all love that.
Pizario
My goal is, is like June, like June, July. I want to, like, that's where I want to be. I'm giving myself six months to like, dedicate myself to fitness.
Josh Lea
I think everybody can agree. Watching this in six months. Can we just beg the Josh Lea to not just post it on his. On his Instagram, but on LA's Instagram as well?
Pizario
You know, I need to, like, I'll.
Josh Lea
Do one with you too.
Pizario
Okay, let's do that together and we'll do a triple collaboration post.
Josh Lea
Okay?
Pizario
Yeah, Yeah, I got to do it, bro.
Josh Lea
Like I said, 100% get it.
Pizario
And look, bro, I'm not even saying, like, I need to be shredded. Ripped to the gills. I'm not even saying that. But I need to know that in my heart, in my soul, I devoted myself to bettering myself. That I, like, was I was watching what I was eating. I was doing my cardio, I was getting my workouts in. And however my body turns, decides to transform, that is going to be enough for me, because I know I put it in.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
And I have not done that in the past two years.
Josh Lea
I'm on the same boat.
Pizario
You get me?
Josh Lea
I mean, I'm in the same boat because we are in the same boat. Everything you do, I do. Everything I do, you do.
Pizario
So. Exactly.
Josh Lea
I'm living the same life as you, and I agree. But you know what? I. I don't want to regret last year of, like, the way that we took care of ourselves. It's not about that. Like, we did our thing. A lot of great things came from it. But sometimes you need the balance. Sometimes you need to go off the little Richter scale to come back on it and really realize that. And plus, I mean, it's not like nothing bad happened. You were living your best life.
Pizario
I was, but at the same time, I was just saying yes to everything because I didn't prioritize myself. Yeah. Okay. My mom always tells me, learn to say no and not feel bad about it. So that is. That's my mantra for the year. I'm gonna say no to things, bro. I'm gonna say no, and I'm not gonna feel bad. I'm not gonna have fomo. This whole idea of, like, I'm gonna have fomo, that doesn't exist. I have a bigger purpose.
Josh Lea
Same, same. Same. I. I love that for you, and I'm glad that you're doing it, because that forces me to do it.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
And I'm glad I'm gonna do it because it'll, you know, force you to do it. And. Yeah, when it's a team effort, things will work out. Like, I. The most shredded I've ever been was because Karen was on her diet as well. So we worked together.
Pizario
She just never stopped.
Josh Lea
Yeah, she just never stopped. And I did.
Pizario
You're like, okay, that's cool.
Josh Lea
Yeah, she looks. I'm the same way, man. And it's. It's. It's saying no, that. That sometimes sucks, but, like, if you put all the yeses together and then it's the end of the year, you for sure tell yourself, I could have said no to half of that easily. Like, not everything is worth it.
Pizario
Right.
Josh Lea
Right. So now I know.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
And, I mean, I've. I've realized that many times, but, yeah, for sure. I don't know. I just get to an age, too, and I'm sure You're there as well.
Pizario
Where it's like there, baby.
Josh Lea
I just want to wake up and feel great because I know what that feels like. And I'm not saying that I don't, but, like, you can wake up and feel amazing every single day with energy.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
And the number one thing when you host a podcast is you have to come with energy. You got to feel and you can't be seven slow.
Pizario
Yeah. Speaking of slow, we haven't introduced our friends over at Sea Geek, the number one ready ticketing app on the app store. So shout out to them.
Josh Lea
Shout out se Geek. Thank you for sponsoring and thank you.
Pizario
For not being slow and having everything available at a quick manner.
Josh Lea
Yeah. 100%. It's so crazy that you said that, like, like grasping the whole year. Cuz like, I think about like last year and I'm like, so many things happen and I'm like, it almost. It doesn't scare me in a way where it's like, I don't want things to happen, but it scares me where it's like, o. I know so many things are going to happen and how am I. How am I going to deal with it? Right. So it's like, I want to know and. And I want to, like, put it out there for myself that, like, I kind of want to come back to the basics and like you said, say no to things.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Like, always come back and remember. Okay. We talked about this in the beginning of the episode. Like, I'll need to watch this episode almost every week so I can come back. Because we forget sometimes you can go into this flow and you fall into this flow of like, just forgetting of what you act your actual goal was for this year. You completely forget about it. So I do know that a lot of things are going to happen this year because naturally they do, no matter what. But I want to come back and be like, okay, let's really think things through and what's really important for the podcast, for ourselves, for our lives, and for our family, our loved ones.
Pizario
Yeah. Going back to, like, seeing, like, taking on the whole year as a whole. Right. Like, we're looking at it on, like, such a big scale. It almost feels. Almost feels overwhelming. Right. It's about like. And you said this, like, taking a day by day. And I saw this girl talk about this on TikTok, and I hope I'm not butchering it, but you just reminded me of what she said. She was talking about how somebody came up to me in the middle, like, in the middle of the street. And handed me a dollar.
Josh Lea
Right.
Pizario
I would take that dollar, right? And in a hundred days I would have a hundred dollars. What kind of person would I be to not take that dollar every day? I'd be missing out on the opportunity to have $365 at the end of the year. So she was like, that's the way she's looking at like, her fitness. It's like you're, you're getting a dollar. It doesn't seem like a lot in the beginning, but the effort that you're putting in is that you're receiving a dollar and a dollar. And then in a hundred days you have a hundred dollars now. She was like, what if I was $5 a day? I was receiving like, what If I put $5 into myself every single day?
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
And I was like, that's what it's about. Like viewing it in, in that manner. Sorry, one more thing. Another tik tok I saw that was because I've been on this kick, bro. I'm like, how do I get better? I saw this guy. He was like, I'm going to start identifying. He's like, he needed to rewire his brain. So he was like, I'm going to start identifying as. I'm going to, I'm going to better this human. I am in charge of this human and I'm going to better this human. I am responsible for this human. What can I do to better this human? That person, which is yourself. And just like understanding it like you are taking care of this thing. How do you take, how do you, how do you better it? Yeah, like, just like, I don't know, I needed those little, like, we re programming in my mind. I'm like, okay, this is how I need to look at things.
Josh Lea
Yeah. 100 and remind yourself.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Because it's, it's really hard to forget. You can tell yourself the easy to forget. Yeah, it's so easy to forget. You can tell these, you can tell yourself all these great things, all this inspirational quotes and things that you want to, like, live by, but it's so easy to forget them. And then you just forget. I'll do it later. But like, what can you. What, what, what makes you remind yourself of it? Right? Yeah, but yeah, like you said about, about the girl talking about, like the money.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
How much money are you going to invest in yourself every day?
Pizario
That's up to you.
Josh Lea
That's up to you.
Pizario
Yeah, it's a good, that's a good. That's a good question. Yeah, that's what she Was saying she's like a dollar, let's say. But what If I put $5 into me. Into me.
Josh Lea
You've done that. No.
Pizario
Yeah, I love that. I love that. This is a good. This is a good conversation. I needed to have this conversation. I need to have this conversation. Yeah, this is good. But let's get into la platica. Bro just has something incredible for us.
Josh Lea
Yeah, let's do it.
Pizario
We're talking about the ends.
Josh Lea
I'm pretty sure Jess is miked up.
Pizario
She might testing.
Jess
All right, so what's in, what's out for 20? 20, 25.
Josh Lea
Okay.
Pizario
And we'll be. We'll be the judges of that.
Josh Lea
Of course we are. People love our opinions. Right?
Jess
What. What do you think of Erewhon Smoothies?
Josh Lea
Okay.
Pizario
Hot take. Haley Bieber smoothie. Phenomenal.
Josh Lea
Yeah, I think they're so good. I think they're great. I don't think a lot of people know how much sugar are. Are inside them.
Pizario
Yeah. And not only that, the sugar, the cost, bro. Yeah, they're so expensive. They're not worth it in that regard. But if you want to treat yourself, do it.
Josh Lea
Yeah, I. I personally think, like, for.
Pizario
Me, like, Jamba Juice.
Josh Lea
No, no, no, no, no. First of all, I. I like Erewhon. I really like their ice lattes there.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
I think their coffee actually gives you a caffeine high kick. Especially after a nice run, you go to Erewhon Latte, shout out to everyone. But, like, can you guys please, like, put their prices a little bit down for us? Just a slight bit. $20 for. For a smoothie?
Pizario
It's kind of crazy, but they know.
Josh Lea
How to, like, market sell them because supposedly they got, like, spirulina or kitchen. Like, I don't know what it is, but it makes you feel like you're doing something for yourself. I do think they do have a lot of sugar, and I don't think they're, like, the craziest healthy for you.
Pizario
So in or out?
Josh Lea
I like it. I like it.
Pizario
It's in.
Josh Lea
I like it. And if people like it, why not?
Pizario
I'm for the in.
Josh Lea
Me too. If I like it. And, like, they collab with cool people. Yeah, I think they collab with, like, Becky G. They did one with Jack Flaherty from the Dodgers. Yeah, like, bro, if they're in it with that, I'm in it.
Pizario
And like, Sabrina Carpenter.
Josh Lea
Yeah, like, they're doing it. Yeah, why not? I'm not gonna hate on that, bro.
Pizario
And I'm telling you, and they're Good. The first time I had the Haley Bieber one, I was like, yo, this is like, why am I doing it? Why am I spending $20 on a smoothie? But I enjoyed it.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
Now it's full of sugar. Like, I'm not gonna be drinking it maybe as much this year because I'm on. I'm on a strict selfie goal, but, you know.
Josh Lea
Yeah, no, I'm in. They can continue to do their thing. I'm not gonna hate on their marketing. It's great. It's wonderful. Everybody enjoys them. Everybody likes posting pictures of everyone with them like this. I'm with it. It makes the world go around a lot happier. I'm also with that.
Pizario
I like that.
Josh Lea
What about you?
Pizario
What are your thoughts?
Jess
I've never had one.
Pizario
No.
Josh Lea
Oh, we're gonna buy you.
Pizario
Okay. So, yeah. Okay. Her vote doesn't count yet. We gotta give you. And then we'll reassess, Right?
Josh Lea
Yeah. Thank you. Bring down. Bring down the cost a bit. Bring down the cost just a bit so I can go out for, you know, so I can go and, like, drive and it'll be worth it.
Pizario
Yeah, they're. They are too expensive. They're too expensive, but they do that.
Josh Lea
The spirinella or whatever that's just called spirulina, that colossalina.
Pizario
The what?
Jess
Colostrum.
Josh Lea
Yeah, colostrum. You know what colostrum is?
Pizario
I don't.
Josh Lea
Me neither.
Jess
This was on the previous episode, guys.
Pizario
Oh.
Josh Lea
Oh, my God, you're right. What does it do for women or for everybody?
Jess
It's supposed to be, like, stem cells or something.
Josh Lea
Oh, okay.
Pizario
Like, regenerates.
Josh Lea
Okay. Yeah.
Pizario
We talked about this.
Jess
Yes.
Josh Lea
At the end of the day, there's much worse things you can drink out in the world.
Pizario
100.
Josh Lea
So, yeah, no, I. I like. I want smoothies. This is a good topic.
Pizario
I like it.
Jess
All right, next up, dry. January in.
Josh Lea
I'm in.
Pizario
I'm in.
Josh Lea
I want to do, like, dry the whole year.
Pizario
Same, bro, same. I think those are. You need those kind of, like, resets.
Josh Lea
I don't think people understand. Like, one time I stopped drinking for three months, Right. Because I was, like, on a strict diet. I want to lose weight. Somebody asked me, when's the last time that you didn't drink? This week. And I was about. Like, I was already, like, in my 30s, and I was like, high school.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Like. Like, they asked me, when's the last time that you just didn't drink in one week. Like a. Like a week, though. Yeah, like, in one week. You had one cocktail at least. Because you went out to a bar, you went out to a restaurant, you went out to an event. Let's just say even two weeks. Have you ever gone two weeks? My answer was no, because it's not that I'm getting, like, drunk, but it's like, just I'm having a cocktail that's for free.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Or like, I went out to a restaurant and I had an old Fashioned, you know, Or a beer. I said, I haven't done that since I was a teenager. You know how bad that is?
Pizario
Yeah, it's pretty bad.
Josh Lea
I don't think people understand, like, if you. If you. If you're like. I'm not saying, like, if you're a big drinker, but if you drink every week, I'm not saying like, a big ton or like a beer. Yeah, a beer or two. Those people have been. Their. Their inflammation is always up. I don't think people understand how you actually should look without any alcohol in your system immediately. When I didn't drink for about two to three weeks and I first started, the first thing that happens is inflammation goes completely down.
Pizario
Your face sucks in.
Josh Lea
Sucks in. The first thing that you notice, you're like, oh, I lost weight in my face. It might be weight, but it's. Most of it is inflammation.
Pizario
Water weight.
Josh Lea
Everybody that drinks weekly or bi weekly has inflammation that just doesn't go away in a day or two. It stays with you. Unless you're working out like a madman. Right?
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Then, yeah, you can afford it. But I don't think people understand that. I think literally, like, at least more than half of society is, like, their inflammation is higher than what it should be.
Pizario
Probably.
Josh Lea
Right. And I'm going low.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
I'm just giving society, like, a chance. But I think it's more than that. But I think 50 of people have high inflammation because of alcohol.
Pizario
It's a huge part of it.
Josh Lea
Yeah. So, like, I challenge you, like, if you don't drink, like, don't drink for like, three weeks, your face goes.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
And then, like, you do a little bit of cardio or just work out. Oh, my God. You feel fantastic as well.
Pizario
I like the idea that collectively, like, we kind of get together and decide, like a one month tonight.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
So it's easier to kind of get behind it.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
So I'm like, why not? I think it should be in 100 in. Yeah, I like it.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
Give your body a little break. Especially after the holidays. You just had my birthday. Everybody was celebrating that. It's Christmas, New Year's, you know what I mean? It's time for a little detox. I like it.
Josh Lea
I agree, I agree. It's always good. And you should always detox. It's good for your body. We're all.
Pizario
It's good for your body, Trust me. Have you ever fasted?
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
Have you done a 24 hour fast? What's the longest you've gone fast?
Josh Lea
Three days. Wow. Yeah, I did the like Just water.
Pizario
Or were you doing like the juices?
Josh Lea
It's the juices I don't like.
Pizario
I mean like a true fat species, like water.
Josh Lea
Oh no, never.
Pizario
Damn.
Josh Lea
I don't. Is that healthy?
Pizario
Yes, bro. There's a lot of like, like healthy benefits to it. There's, there's like hospitals in like other countries where all they do is just like watch their patients like fast and just monitor them to make sure they're, they're okay because you want to watch their like hydration levels, vitamins, all this stuff that you got to like for. But it is so beneficial.
Josh Lea
I, I bet. But I feel like a lot of people do it for the wrong reason, which is to lose weight.
Pizario
Right?
Josh Lea
I don't think that you should.
Pizario
There are those benefits though.
Josh Lea
Yeah, that's the benefit. But once you, once you break your fast, you almost end up being the same way. So I don't think you. I think you should do it for the actual like nutritional benefit of your body. Not because you want to lose six pounds in three days. Which you will. Low key.
Pizario
Yeah, you will.
Josh Lea
Cuz my, my dumbass did it for like 3, 4 days and I lost like 6, 7 pounds cuz I wanted to lose like that. Right. But it's, it's all you'll get. You'll get that back.
Pizario
How did you feel? You were just doing juices though?
Josh Lea
Yeah, I felt really hungry. Hunger. Yeah, no, but yeah, sure, I felt good. Yeah, sure. You know, I haven't done the, the whole like water only or like coffee.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
But a lot of people do and I know it's beneficial and like they've been doing that since like the ancient times.
Pizario
You know what I need to do dry January of is caffeine. Dude.
Josh Lea
That's another thing.
Pizario
Too much.
Josh Lea
That's another thing. I used to think like, okay, no more caffeine. But I, what I'm starting to do now is I'll have my espresso but like this much milk and then that's my drink and that, that's gonna give me my, my fix. I'm not doing no more large Ice lattes with like half oat milk, sugar free vanilla. You know what I mean? Now I just kind of go back to the basics. Like this big, a little bit of milky. Yeah.
Pizario
Well, isn't there a name for those coffees?
Josh Lea
Like the salad macchiatos?
Pizario
Is that what it is?
Josh Lea
Cortados. Cortaditos.
Pizario
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh Lea
So like, I try to having that now and bro, I kid you not, that's all you need.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
You don't like. Okay, don't get me wrong. When there's like a little road trip, I do like my big ice latte, you know, and like, I'll. And there's not that much calories in it, but still, why drink the whole thing, you know? Yeah, I do. Just now I just do my little fix like that.
Pizario
What I started doing is I'll do like latte. I'm sorry. I'll do espresso shots, like a double, and then I'll just top that off with like. Like a protein shake. So those the ones that you buy? I'm blanking on the names right now. Okay. Those, like, those will work too. Fair Lives. The fair lives.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
Just top it out with A Fair Life.
Josh Lea
They're like Muscle Milk.
Pizario
It's like Muscle milk.
Josh Lea
Yeah, yeah.
Pizario
And it tastes great.
Josh Lea
Yeah, I see it. Yeah, I see. I saw your fridge. Coke Zeros and.
Pizario
What is it called?
Josh Lea
Fair Life. So I was like, cool. It's always funny when you go to somebody's house and you open the fridge. It's like, I know exactly who you are.
Pizario
You could tell a lot about a person. Yeah, you could tell a lot about a person. Yeah.
Josh Lea
That's cool. I like that. But yeah, Dry January, I think. Yeah, for sure.
Pizario
I'm in it.
Josh Lea
It doesn't have to be January. Try challenging yourself for a while.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
See the inflammation go down. Especially if you work out a lot.
Pizario
Oh, yeah.
Josh Lea
Alcohol is the number one thing that, like, stops you from getting gains.
Pizario
Yeah. Especially for men. It actually lowers your testosterone. Something to think about.
Josh Lea
I want to check my testosterone. You should. I've never done it.
Pizario
You've never tested it? Oh, you should check it.
Josh Lea
From the looks of it, what do you think I am?
Pizario
You want me to be honest with you?
Josh Lea
Super.
Pizario
So the range, just to kind of give people an idea, they say, like, the healthy range is between, like. And this changes depending on who you ask the doctors. But it's between 2 to 300 on the low end up until 800 on the high end.
Josh Lea
That's high.
Pizario
That's high. So you Want to fall in between there? If you're under, like, 2, 300, you're on your low test. If you're like 300 to, like, 800, you're, like, a good, healthy range. I'm gonna say you might be anywhere between 5 to 600. I think you're right in the middle.
Josh Lea
I don't give high testosterone vibes. That's what you just said.
Pizario
No, that's not what I'm saying. That's not what I'm saying. But, dude, at your age, I'm just kind of factoring, like, everything. Like, it's.
Josh Lea
Oh, everybody kind of starts falling down.
Pizario
Yes. It's not like a personal attack entirely. No. But that's what I would put. You know, I'm gonna tell you why. Because I'm in that range. I'm like. I think I've tested mine. I think I'm like, 650. Yeah.
Josh Lea
I feel like the hairier the guy is, the stronger.
Pizario
That is true. That's a very talented. Yeah. Are you. Hairy chest. Do you have a hairy chest?
Josh Lea
Everything?
Pizario
You're. Oh, you're full hair. What about your back and shoulders and stuff like that back.
Josh Lea
No, but shoulders. No shoulders.
Pizario
You know, surprisingly, that's like a tell. If you have high testosterone and, like, a full beard.
Josh Lea
That's all I got, but I know what you mean.
Pizario
Test is right here.
Josh Lea
I've seen some dudes that, like.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
At the barber shop, and they're sitting backwards because the dude's doing their backs and stuff. Yeah, that's some people.
Pizario
So they might have higher tests. That could be, like, a sign for them to have higher tests.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
Cool. Yeah, but you should go check. You should check it out, dude.
Josh Lea
I am. Yeah, Actually, I'm gonna go right now after this break.
Pizario
Let's do it. Me and you, bro. All right, next question.
Josh Lea
Set up my appointment. No, but we honestly got to go on break right now. Oh, these are actually really good. Ins or outs?
Pizario
These are great.
Josh Lea
These are great. And guys, let us know down below as well. Like, is it in or is it out?
Pizario
How do you like it? In or out?
Josh Lea
Whoa. That took a turn. We'll be right back.
Pizario
Let's get it.
Josh Lea
Alrighty. Pizario. You mind if I call you Pizario?
Pizario
Call me that. Call me that.
Josh Lea
And by the way, you do look very. You look like a. Like. Like the only Mexican in Yellowstone right now. The show.
Pizario
God damn it.
Josh Lea
I love that hat.
Pizario
Julia Khan.
Josh Lea
By the way. Gracia. I just started watching yellow songs. Really good. Yeah. Have you seen it? Jess, it's actually a really good show.
Pizario
I'm gonna watch it. I need something like that right now. It's cool, because I'm not going out, so I'm staying home.
Josh Lea
Me neither.
Pizario
So I need something while I'm doing my cardio, bro.
Josh Lea
I love that for you, man.
Pizario
Come on, man.
Josh Lea
I love this kind of. Josh.
Pizario
I'm in it.
Josh Lea
Josh. He goes, all right.
Jess
Botox for men.
Josh Lea
In.
Pizario
You know what else is in men? Being open about it.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
Like, this whole idea that we can't discuss this and talk about it. Dude, that's this whole machismo stuff about it, bro. If you want to get Botox, get it. It's. I. That's one thing I do not regret. And I know people are going to tell me, like, I don't know if. Is it bad for you? Botox bad?
Josh Lea
No.
Pizario
No. Then I'm all for it. Even more so.
Josh Lea
Yeah, it's not bad for you. It actually prevents you from getting wrinkles throughout your whole life.
Pizario
No, I don't mean in that regard. I meant in, like, what they actually put in.
Josh Lea
Oh.
Pizario
Like. Yeah, I don't think so. I don't know. But I'm happy with it. I've never one time gotten Botox, and I'm like, oh, I. I regret doing that.
Josh Lea
I need to go get Botox, actually. It's been almost like eight months that I haven't gone.
Pizario
You're not a big Botox guy, though. You said you don't really like the way it makes your face feel.
Josh Lea
There's some people that I've tried where they kind of figure it out.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
I don't like to feel like my eyebrows can't move because I'm a very expressive ex. I have a lot of expressions, is the word.
Pizario
Could be.
Josh Lea
And sometimes I've gone Botox, where I feel like, I, like, I feel a little frozen, but sometimes.
Pizario
But like, God damn, you look good.
Josh Lea
Yeah, I look good like this.
Pizario
Yeah. Like, I'm like, whoa.
Josh Lea
But, yeah. No, like, sometimes, like, on camera, obviously, we see each other on camera a lot, and I can start seeing, like, it's coming back.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
And, like, it's cool to get it, because a lot of people think, like, get Botox so your wrinkles don't show. Right. Which is. Yeah, that's the case. But in the long run, when you're older and say you, like, don't want to get it anymore, those wrinkles that you could have been like, yeah.
Pizario
Squishing, Minimizing.
Josh Lea
Squishing for all those years, now they're finally squishing. So it won't look as bad as, you know, is if you'd never gone Botox.
Pizario
I think that if you're a guy, obviously I feel like more girls are open to Botox, right? Like, yeah, it's like a common thing. If you're a guy and you're not getting Botox because you think it's like feminine or whatever your idea. If, like you're looking at it in that way, you're dumb. Okay.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
And if that's the reason why you're not getting it, you're dumb.
Josh Lea
Yeah. 100.
Pizario
So in that case, you should get it now if you don't want to get it for whatever other reasons. And then you're just like, it's not my thing. Because it's not for everybody. Like, I get that.
Josh Lea
Yeah. Plus, like, if you really want to try it, I highly suggest you try it.
Pizario
Just you try it.
Josh Lea
It doesn't last forever.
Pizario
No, it's like if you don't, if.
Josh Lea
You don't like it, it's like three, four months, right.
Pizario
If you work out, because it, if you, if your metabolism is increased, like out and stuff like that, you actually less time that it lasts. Which is interesting because your body like absorbs it or something.
Josh Lea
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the more facial you try to make, it'll kind of like wear out.
Pizario
Yeah, correct. But yeah, sleeping on your side, like all that stuff, kind of like.
Josh Lea
So how do you sleep?
Pizario
I always sleep on my back.
Josh Lea
Are you a back sleeper now? I am, yeah.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
I used to, I used to love sleeping on my stomach. I don't know if it's because I'm getting older, but like when I sleep on my stomach, my lower back hurts.
Pizario
Yeah, mine too.
Josh Lea
I don't know if it's the bed that I have right now. Maybe it's too soft, but like I just feel like I'm like this.
Pizario
Yeah, yeah. That can't be good for us, bro.
Josh Lea
No. So I just. Now I sleep a lot on my. Like this.
Pizario
Yeah, yeah. What I do is like I sleep like that and I get the go behind. I put it like right on my cheek. So.
Josh Lea
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Normal pillow. Karen gets me the silk pillows.
Pizario
Mine is a thin, like a paper thin pillow, bro. I need that thin.
Josh Lea
I'm not a big fan of the fluffy ass ones that are like this thick. Cuz then I sleep like this.
Pizario
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh Lea
No, I like my like thin.
Pizario
What about you, Jess? Botox in or out?
Jess
In, I'd say.
Pizario
Yeah, dude, yeah. Also, Botox is not just for wrinkles. A lot of people get it for, like, their tj. Tjm. Tjm for like, their certain bite that they have right here. People get migraines, so they get it. You know, that's what I'm saying. If you're a guy and you have those symptoms and you're not getting it because of, like, whatever perspective or view you have of, like, society, you're dumb.
Josh Lea
When's the last time you got Botox?
Pizario
Maybe early.
Josh Lea
Feel like you're kind of, like, Botoxing?
Pizario
No, I think I got it early November. So it's like, it's on its way out. Go like this.
Josh Lea
Oh, yeah, you're straight.
Pizario
Yeah, but I've never really had a crow's feet. It's more like my forehead.
Josh Lea
Yeah, My forehead right now looks like a washing board. Next.
Jess
Men's skin care.
Pizario
Oh.
Josh Lea
Oh. This is a Josh question.
Pizario
And take care of your skin, guys. First of all, if you don't wash, bro, one thing that. One of my pet peeves as a. A fellow man is when I'm hanging out with another fellow man, right? Which happened to be in the same hotel or whatever, and I go, bro, you got any face wash? And they go, no, I don't use face wash. You don't use. You don't use face wash, bro? That is crazy to me. I wash my face every single night, bro. If you don't want to use face wash, I think you're. You're good because if you shower and stuff like that, right. Should be using face wash. Sorry, I didn't mean to call you out like that. By the way, I'm very.
Josh Lea
No, no, no, I don't. I. You're right. I don't carry face.
Pizario
That's crazy. I carry it with me.
Josh Lea
I have my bathroom when I shower is when I wash my face. And that's it.
Pizario
You need to moisturize because that's also going to contribute to your wrinkles and all the other stuff. Hydrate your skin and probably most importantly, sunscreen. Those three things is all you need. As. As a man, I think you're. You're covered in everything else.
Josh Lea
I think sunscreen above everything, right?
Pizario
I would say so.
Josh Lea
Even if you don't do, like, a face wash or.
Pizario
Yeah, moisturizer.
Josh Lea
But honestly, for us guys, we like the easy. So, like, just find a lotion that has sunscreen even better.
Pizario
That's what I have.
Josh Lea
Yeah, I think that's. Karen has really, you know, embodied that. Is that how you say, like, in Me?
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Until I always wear sunscreen, especially because I cycle a lot. I'm running a lot throughout time. You will see a difference in your skin if you don't use sunscreen. Yeah, it's very dangerous, actually.
Pizario
I also think that we should be getting, like, facials. Like, men need to be getting facials.
Josh Lea
Oh, facials feel great.
Pizario
Thank you. That's what I'm saying.
Josh Lea
That not only squeeze your pimples and stuff.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
But, like, for the most part, you. It's something so relaxing. So good.
Pizario
It's so relaxing.
Josh Lea
I love. I love facials.
Pizario
Yeah. Yeah. Dude. There's so much information out there, like, on, like, online to make it simple for guys, but you should definitely be taking care of your skin.
Josh Lea
I agree. And men's skincare in. Has to be ladies at home. Make them do it. Give them. Give them. Give them some. Some. What's it called? Like, those little masks.
Pizario
So good.
Josh Lea
Yeah, it's cool.
Pizario
Yeah, like a mud mask.
Josh Lea
Yeah, like a mud mask. I just peel off all cool. Yeah, I love that. Yeah, I love that. Plus, it's attractive, right?
Pizario
Hot. So hot.
Josh Lea
Super hot.
Jess
For Josh, this next one. House plan.
Pizario
Yes.
Jess
Okay, but is there a limit?
Pizario
Yes. But you know what? When it comes to stuff like this, if this is the way people want to express themselves and having, like, a bunch of plants in their house, then so be it. Like, I'm not gonna be. Like, for me, it might be a little too much. I'm like, this is a lot. But for some people, they love being around plants like that. Like, I've seen people's homes. Like, it's a jungle.
Josh Lea
I respect so much people that they have like. Like that, and they're not. It's all real.
Pizario
Yeah. Yeah. And it's not. It's alive. Like, they're healthy. We had plants in here at one.
Josh Lea
Point, and, yeah, we're not very good at that.
Pizario
And we kill them. They're dead.
Josh Lea
We want to bring. We. Like. I feel like I. I feel like plants really just make some places just feel so alive.
Pizario
Let's start with fake plants and pretend to water them. Like, let's just remind each other. Oh, water them plants. See if we can even do that. The fake plants as.
Josh Lea
As much as I would like a real plan in here, you can't. There's no sunlight. Oh, there's no sunlight. Now we can always take it out and, you know. Yeah, do that. But at the end, it's kind of sad if you have a real plan in here, because we're not here. Every day.
Pizario
That's true.
Josh Lea
It's just gonna be here, just, like, waiting for us to come inside.
Pizario
That's a good point. I like house plants. If you can make love House plants. Do I have any plants in my home that are real? I don't think so. Do you?
Josh Lea
Yeah, yeah, we have a real. I think it's like a fig. Fig tree or that big one.
Pizario
And when you walk in, that one.
Josh Lea
Is actually fake now, but we have another one in the living room right next to the right of the tv. And it faces the sliding door, so it gets sunlight thrives.
Pizario
Damn.
Josh Lea
Yeah, and it's. It's kind of like, as long as it's there, we're good. Yeah, no, but house plants. Yeah, for sure. And if you're a guy and you're single, or if you're, like, dating and you have house plants, like, chicks dig that.
Pizario
Yeah. Yeah.
Jess
Next live action remake.
Pizario
Oh, this is a good one, Jess. Oh, and I'm. I'm on the man. I'm kind of on the. No, like, I'm kind of out like you.
Josh Lea
I, I. Look, let's do this. Live action remakes. There's some that are really good.
Pizario
Like, which one?
Josh Lea
But I love, like, the OG I love the cartoons.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
You know, I love it. Like, yeah, we don't gotta change it. But if Lilo and Stitch comes out and it's good, I'm all for live action.
Pizario
Yeah, it's gotta be good like that.
Josh Lea
That, That'll, like, be like the end talk. Because Lilo and Stitch, the first one, like, the cartoon, the Disney goaded. It's Go to Disney. Right? Pixar. I don't know what it is, but goaded.
Pizario
Do I want to see Moana live action? Not really.
Josh Lea
Not really, right?
Pizario
No, not really. I don't care to see the rock like that. And then even with the Lion King stuff, sometimes I'm like, are we there yet with our, our visual effects? We are, we are, like, to, like, really enjoy for what it is because the. I was totally good with the cartoon. What am I getting from the live action Lion King? What am I getting?
Josh Lea
Nothing. Just to let you know how advanced our technology.
Pizario
Yeah, it's kind of it. But to your point, the Lilo and Stitch, that. That chemistry could be something really special like that, that could be different that I wouldn't get in a cartoon.
Josh Lea
And it's getting, like, a lot of love, like, a lot of people.
Pizario
Oh, really? It's already out.
Josh Lea
No, no. Like, everybody's waiting for it.
Pizario
Oh, yeah. I'm excited to watch it. Yeah.
Josh Lea
Like, but I mean I do like, I. You know what I kind of like where it's kind of like, like Sonic the Hedgehog, how like they're kind of animated but like everybody else is real.
Pizario
But it's not a, it's not a remake.
Josh Lea
Yeah, it's not a remake. Yeah, well, technically it is. It's a cartoon.
Pizario
Yeah, I guess.
Josh Lea
And a video game.
Pizario
But I meant like, like an original movie.
Josh Lea
Yeah, yeah, no, I don't know. I feel bad because there's so many people, hard working people that make it to life. So like I don't want to on that but.
Pizario
Or we can just start coming out with original live action stuff. Yeah, it'll be a remake.
Josh Lea
Yeah. I don't know. I. I will see Lilo and Sister.
Pizario
Me too. So I'm out until Lilo.
Josh Lea
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jess
Social media platforms.
Pizario
Oh, this is a tough one.
Josh Lea
Aren't they gonna like Ban Tick Tock or something like that? Isn't that like in a week or something? Or like is that. I don't. Do you think that's gonna be real?
Pizario
No, there's too much money.
Josh Lea
They have to some. They have to sell it though, right? It's bro to the U.S. yeah, I.
Pizario
Think that's part of it. They wanted to sell to a U.S. company. Yeah. Because of like it's too data infringement, which any app that we have, they're like collecting information.
Josh Lea
It would kind of be dumb if they don't sell it. Right.
Pizario
Do you know what kind of information they collect from you? Like, do you know? No, I don't either. That's what's kind of scary, I guess.
Josh Lea
I don't know. Now someone supposedly is collecting data. I don't know necessarily though.
Pizario
I heard this thing and I don't know if it's true but. And maybe this is like an easy one, but TikTok like for the algorithm. Their algorithm is so good. Right. Do you know that they have the camera on so they're doing like facial recognition to how you are facially reacting to the content being shown to you. That's how they're able to perfect the algorithm for you. They're watching your face and there, there's like a data that says like, oh, he liked this. Good. Show them again. Show something else like that again. I don't know if this is real, but I heard that and I was.
Josh Lea
Like, wow, if that's real. That's kind of weird, huh?
Pizario
Kind of weird.
Josh Lea
Put some tape over that.
Pizario
Yeah. So sometimes I'm like, mindful of it. And like, if I. Even if I like it something, I'll just be like, yeah.
Josh Lea
Because on Tick Tock, what I notice about Tick Tock compared to Instagram is if I watch one video on Tick Tock and say I watch the whole thing because, yeah, sure, I was interested. Now I have my whole feed similar to that same Tick Tock, but I'm not that interested in it either.
Pizario
Right, right.
Josh Lea
But Instagram doesn't give it. Give me that as well. Like, I can just go on reels and reels.
Pizario
Yeah. And just.
Josh Lea
And like. Yeah, I guess I'll. I'll start to kind of like, like, if I look up a lot of like cycling stuff or golfing stuff, I'll start, I'll start receiving more of it. Yeah, but Tick Tock is straight off the walking, though.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
I'm like, Jesus Christ, I'm not that interested in it. It's almost to the point where it's like, that's all it is. Like, where do I find something different?
Pizario
I know.
Josh Lea
If Tick Tock gets banned. Sorry to interrupt you. Are you okay with that?
Pizario
A part of me is. I love Tick Tock, bro. I. I do a lot of like, mindless scrolling. That's something I got to work on too. But I know that it's pretty toxic as well. And that's what I'm. I can be okay with, like, letting go of that side of the Internet that we don't really have anywhere else in another platform. Like it is on Tick Tock. There's, there's, there's. I don't know, there's something, There's a lot of negativity on Tick Tock that comes with it. Yeah, it's very entertaining, you know, like I said, but I could do without it.
Josh Lea
Yes. The only thing for me, and that weighs everything out is that there's so many small businesses that run on Tick Tock and they create their, their, their life's worth and it would suck to see that go away because so many people work so, so hard and they rely on these social media platforms just like that. So I don't know. I hope it all just works out for the best.
Pizario
I know it's tough to say. What do you think, Jess? What do you, what are your thoughts on the social media stuff?
Jess
Yeah, I mean, I think that it's like you said earlier, it's all about who owns the data that it's collecting. Right. And like, there's just like, there's a lot of toxic things. There's A lot of really good things.
Pizario
Amazing.
Jess
All of my recipe, like, I learned to cook because of TikTok. Like, I have so many things saved, so many cultures that I've explored, like, with its cuisine. And there's so much that you can learn from all of them, you know, so, like, there's good and there's bad and everything, but. Yeah, it's just unfortunate that, like, this is kind of up in the air because of, at the end of the day, like, who owns the data that they're collecting. And the fact that it's not the government here is, like, the concern, which.
Pizario
Also is not the most ideal thing either, to have our government own it versus, like.
Josh Lea
Yeah, like, an actual. Like.
Pizario
I don't know. I'm sorry, I'm not too sure.
Josh Lea
But. So do you think that if someone buys out Tik Tok, is it still Tik Tok or. It's completely different name and everybody starts over?
Jess
I.
Pizario
No, I think it would still be Tik Tok.
Josh Lea
It'll still be Tik Tok. You still have your account, Everything. Nothing changes.
Pizario
I don't know.
Josh Lea
I think because, I mean, if they sell it, don't they have to sell, like, their whole company? Yeah, whoever runs it.
Pizario
The. The US Version of it.
Josh Lea
Yeah, yeah. And then the U. S. Version. That means that there's U. S. Employees now. So how does that work?
Pizario
I don't know. I don't know.
Josh Lea
What do you guys think back at home?
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
And what do you guys think? Should we, like, scrap Tick Tock? Leave Tick Tock? I think everybody fairly enjoys Tick Tock.
Pizario
Yeah, it's.
Josh Lea
It's like, remember the beginning. Nobody liked Tick Tock most musically. Yeah.
Pizario
This is crazy.
Josh Lea
But still, like, at the end day, nobody really liked, like, that. They had to, like, start another platform. They were like, dude, should we even start it? Is it gonna be big? And it was massive.
Pizario
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Does it. Does it get bigger? Does if it stays, does it Tick Tock continue to, like, skyrocket? I would say so.
Josh Lea
I don't know, dude.
Pizario
It's just so easy.
Josh Lea
But then again, like, I feel like the person that wanted to ban Tick Tock was Joe Biden. Right? It was, like, in the Biden administration, but now since he's not in there, I think they're gonna, like, kind of, like, maybe even, like, push the deadline. So we'll see what the main pres. The president right now does.
Pizario
Yeah, I'm cool with Instagram. I let it run.
Josh Lea
Instagram is a nice, like, home body, you know, we're also like, Instagram generation.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
So, like, you know, I don't know what the younger the. I mean, I'm not saying I'm. Although, you know, we're still young too.
Pizario
But like the Gen Z. Yeah.
Josh Lea
Like, they. That's. Tik Tok is a bro. They don't give a about Instagram.
Pizario
Instagram is like our Facebook to, like, the older generation.
Josh Lea
Oh, my God.
Pizario
I know, bro. But I don't use Instagram the way like, I used to. Like, I'm not really posting as much. I'm a story guy and. But I enjoy watching my. What my friends are doing, the people I follow. Like, I'm genuinely, like, intrigued by what.
Josh Lea
They post in Instagram.
Pizario
Yes.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
100%.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
Yeah. It's weird. On. On Instagram, I get fed more of, like, what my friends are posting. People that I follow, but not so much on Tik Tok. I noticed if I follow somebody, I'll rarely get their Tik Toks. Yeah. Unless they post something that Tick Tock things I would find interesting. It's kind of interesting.
Josh Lea
Yeah. 100. Dang. That's so crazy. You said that, like, Instagram is our Facebook. That means that, like, we're our parents now.
Pizario
Yeah, dude. All my younger cousins, like, they have Instagrams, of course. Right. But they have like zero posts. They never post. It's just like, to have. And that's like the thing to do. It's to have just to have it.
Josh Lea
And if they post a post on.
Pizario
TikTok or they'll post like a random ass story, like something so random. Yeah, yeah.
Josh Lea
But I still feel like even being like, people who are kind of in the social media space, I feel like, like, for example, if you're trying to be like a content creator and you're trying to make a living off it, I don't know, maybe it's just me, maybe because I don't get too many Tick Tock brand deals and stuff like that, but I do feel like people make their living off Instagram still more than Tick Tock. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Pizario
I think you might be wrong, bro.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
I think there's some heavy hitters on Tick Tock that are making, oh, 100 money.
Josh Lea
100 tick tock live.
Pizario
Yeah, yeah. Like, okay, perfect example.
Josh Lea
But like, yeah, yeah, you're right. Tick Tock Live, bro.
Pizario
People are making stupid money and then sometimes the wrong people.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
Jess knows what I'm thinking about.
Josh Lea
But then also, like, I don't know, like, I feel like if a brand Like Kraft Singles, Mac and Cheese wants to do a brand deal with somebody, I think they'll put more of their money on Instagram.
Pizario
I don't think so.
Josh Lea
No, no, brother would be.
Pizario
No, that's a good question, bro. That's my opinion. I would love to ask, like, Robert, like, a manager who's in the space to tell us, like, somebody who has, like, the same amount of following, like, what company is worth. Maybe companies just look at it differently.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
Some companies might say, oh, Instagram is more worth there. Or some companies might.
Josh Lea
Yeah. I think it's just my personal experience, but I think watching everybody who I kind of follow as well.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
I feel like a lot of brand deals go through Instagram first. Or like, brands want to work on Instagram. Maybe it's just like, the space that I'm in.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
But yeah, no, I. I completely agree that Tick Tock lives are crazy. You know what I mean, dude?
Pizario
People are making stupid money. Yeah. What's crazy is with these Tick Tock lives, like, I. There's a specific person that I'm thinking about right now who is, like, super popping right now on, like, Tick Tock. But people are watching their lives just to clip them, and then they're posting those clips, and then those clips are going viral, which in turn makes that person, like, super. More popping. It's a trip.
Josh Lea
Which is a good thing, right? For their content.
Pizario
That's a good question.
Josh Lea
Or whoever, right?
Pizario
Yeah. Yeah.
Josh Lea
I mean, sometimes people get, like, backlash or, like, good lash.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
But I don't know. It just depends.
Pizario
Yeah, this depends. Yeah, Just depends.
Jess
Canadian tuxedos.
Pizario
Yes.
Josh Lea
Hell yeah.
Pizario
Fire, bro. Like, that fit on the left right there with the beanies kind of hard.
Josh Lea
Dude, honestly, like a denim on denim.
Pizario
Sick. It's time.
Josh Lea
Sick. It's timeless. And if. And if you wear it, everybody looks at you.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Everybody's like, you're wearing denim on denim. Like, that takes balls to do. And it's sick. Whether it be dark blue or light blue. My preference, light blue.
Pizario
I like light, but I'll dabble in the dark. But the denim's got to match.
Josh Lea
I wonder why they call it a Canadian tuxedo. Where's that come from?
Pizario
Canada.
Josh Lea
Well, yeah, but, like, why?
Pizario
Like, that's like, that's what they would like. That's where it started.
Josh Lea
Yeah. I love a Canadian tuxedo. They should be in more like Canadian tuxedos. Like, we need to start rocking them more often.
Pizario
What. What word is that?
Josh Lea
Canadian Concedo. The term Canadian tuxedo is A colloquial? Yeah, term for wearing a denim jacket or shirt with jeans.
Pizario
Okay, what does colloquial mean?
Josh Lea
Colloquial.
Pizario
You can't just throw around big words, like, as a definition.
Josh Lea
I need to know what that is. Yeah, colloquial. Using an ordinary or familiar conversation, not formally or literally. Okay, so it's just like. Well, like, colloquial. Colloquial is, like, what everybody kind of says. Like, it's like, the norm to say.
Jess
Like, a slang term.
Josh Lea
Yeah, like a slang term that. It's, like, very popular.
Pizario
Oh, okay.
Josh Lea
Like, a lot of people use it.
Pizario
So it's a slang term. Yeah.
Josh Lea
So, like, when they say, like, the term Canadian tuxedo is a colloquial, it's basically saying, like, the term. A Canadian tuxedo is a common term. Right.
Pizario
Read the second sentence right here.
Josh Lea
The term is said to have originated in 1951 when Binge Crosby was denied entry to a hotel in Vancouver, Canada, for wearing a denim on denim outfit.
Pizario
Wow.
Josh Lea
So that's why it's a Canadian. Who is that?
Pizario
Can we look him up?
Josh Lea
Oh, God. Just a word. Just going through a rabbit hole of. Of. What is that?
Jess
It's being.
Pizario
It's being. Yeah, I was gonna say bing.
Josh Lea
What did I say?
Pizario
Binge.
Josh Lea
Oh, sorry.
Pizario
Binge, bro. He looks like he'd wear a denim on denim. I'll feel. Man.
Josh Lea
Handsome guy back in his day.
Pizario
Oh, dapper fella. Harry Bingham Crosby.
Josh Lea
He was an American singer and actor, the first multimedia star. He was one of the most popular and influential musical artists of the 20th century worldwide.
Pizario
So he got denied entry because he was rocking the denim on denim.
Josh Lea
One thing about me is, like, old school, like, actors and stuff, when there was no phones and, like, you were just popular for, like. Like, back in the. Like, now you're popular, but because you post online and people like you and, like, that's all awesome. But, like, back in the day, you used to be famous because you were literally just so cool and, like, you didn't have to show it online.
Pizario
No, that's true.
Josh Lea
Yeah. Like, you don't have to be like, oh, you know, you're cool because you have millions of followers and this and that. Like, yeah, no, like, that is cool. Right? But, like, back in the day, like, Marilyn Monroe or even this guy, like, Bing Crosby, whatever his name is, even, like, James Dean. Like, yeah, they're all, like, talented and stuff, but, like, you were picked because you're that cool.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Not because, like, because nowadays, and a lot of them are very like, but.
Pizario
You can almost fake the.
Josh Lea
Yeah, you can fake the funk. But like nowadays like there's like a social media superstar who's an actor, right? And like, yeah, they might kill it. Like, yeah, I applaud you. But like before I used to be like, bro, like only like if you're cool cool or like if people really with you.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Like even a lot of comedians, you know what I mean? Like, like the like for you to get your like rise to fame was like actually like a pat on the back. Like what did you have to do?
Pizario
Like you.
Josh Lea
That's crazy. And to be an American like like some, somebody famous like in America or even like in other places like in the world, you know, it's like I really think that's so interesting when I like meet people that were like in the 1920s and they were like the 1950s, even the 60s, bro. And like they're just a sick.
Pizario
Yeah, I agree.
Josh Lea
Like the Beatles, when they were like in their like prime, like all they had like shitty ass radio or like you'd have to go to like the circus or something and you would see like wallpaper that says the Beatles live at this, you know. That's sick.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Oh, I wish I lived in there.
Jess
Chrome hearts.
Josh Lea
Ah, this is tough. Okay. The people who wear hella chrome hearts like drip down. I don't think, I think anything that comes with any type of fashion. If you Gucci down, if you're Louis Vuitton dow, if you're this or that, it's really hard to pull that look off. I honestly.
Pizario
But it's doable.
Josh Lea
Yeah, it is. Depending, it depends. Like if you're wearing an all chrome hearts Canadian tuxedo, I think that looks hard fire. Right. But a lot of people like they think that if they wear Balenciaga hat with Balenciaga sunnies with the Balenciaga hoodie and like some other designer like Balenciaga shoes, I'm like, I'm a fashionista. No, you're not. You have no style. That is no style. Yeah, look at my friend Peasy. He's wearing a una de from Michoacan. Shout out to Samora Mitra, where Jess is from.
Pizario
Gang, gang.
Josh Lea
You're wearing this really cool like some Yellowstone on some Wyoming.
Pizario
You feel me?
Josh Lea
La platica merch. You got that gorgeous smile, bro. You can tell a thousand words of who, like who are you? Right? You're an interesting guy. If you're like Gucci down, like that's not, that's, that's not.
Pizario
Ain't it?
Josh Lea
That ain't it.
Pizario
Okay, so for the chrome heart, what about. Because I love chrome heart jewelry. I think chrome heart jewelry.
Josh Lea
So that's what I was about to say. If you can wear chrome hearts and you're not, like, completely drenched down where like. Okay, look, with chrome hearts, you can wear everything. Chrome hearts. But, like, don't wear, like, where it's like your whole body. Like, you're like there's crosses all over you. Yeah, I don't like that. Look, I think everything can be chrome hearts, to be honest with you. And I think if you can pull it off, because it's not like. Like you're not like Gucci down with, like, the whole. Like the whole, like, Gucci print.
Pizario
They're a little bit more subtle.
Josh Lea
It's more subtle. I love chrome hearts. Like, if you're wearing a chrome hearts hat with this and some chrome hearts jewelry. I have chrome hearts, Julie, that I wear all the time. You know what I mean? Like, my ring is chrome hearts. I don't mind chrome hearts. It's more, brother.
Pizario
It's.
Josh Lea
There's other brands that I rather you not be drenched out. Armani, you know, to the toes. Yeah, but I don't like. Because I was in Vegas recently and I saw a lot of people wearing chrome hearts. But it's like the chrome hearts crosses everywhere in their body. And it's like you're just showing us that you're dripped down in chrome hearts. And like, that's just. It's just not cool. It's just not.
Pizario
I agree.
Josh Lea
We're a little chrome hearts right here, a little there, you know, but like, this goes with any. Right? Doesn't be chrome hearts. But I love their jewelry.
Pizario
Just a splash.
Josh Lea
I love their jewelry.
Pizario
Just a splash of chrome.
Josh Lea
Yeah, so, like, chrome hearts is in, I think. And. And honestly, you can't hate on chrome hearts. This is a brand that people are literally just blowing up as of, like, the last two, three years. Yeah, but this is brand that Share and Sunny. They were the ones that were wearing it back in the day. Like. Yeah, like. Jess, do you mind pulling up a picture of Sharon? Chrome hearts. Like, I mean, she's really the one that. If you meet the owners of chrome hearts, like, they're rockers. This is like a motorcycle brand.
Pizario
Oh, yeah.
Josh Lea
This ain't like, no. Like, this just came out and, like, some rapper owns it. No, this is like, like, like Cher made this really popular. She's one of, like, their best friends, like, the owners of chrome hearts. And she's the one that has dress right there. She's the one that really has it all. And they do really fine pieces of, like, jewelry, and they put silver in their. In their clothes and all that stuff. So this is a brand that's been going on since, you know, Cher was popping. This is an old brand that just recently came back up and, you know, is. Is sick. And that's why I like Chrome Hearts, because it's a brand that really just kind of like, history. It has history to it. And these pieces. And I told you before, like, this ring, this was made, like, maybe 10 years ago, and it still holds its resale value and stuff like that.
Pizario
More.
Josh Lea
Yeah. So. But yeah, this is an old brand, but, like, now people are really abusing it.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
At the end of the day, if you can afford it, good for you.
Pizario
Because it is expensive.
Josh Lea
Yeah, if you can afford it, good for you. And I'm not hating on that. But, like, this goes with any type of clothing brand. If you're, like, drip down, like, the whole thing, and you're just trying to, like, tell people, like, this is.
Pizario
That's not it.
Josh Lea
I don't think that style.
Pizario
I agree.
Josh Lea
At all.
Jess
So much for powering through them.
Pizario
Yeah.
Jess
Leopard print.
Pizario
Leopard print. If you can rock it, I'm in for it.
Josh Lea
Yeah, leopard print. Obviously not head to toe, but, like, if, like, I have some snake pants that I wear sometimes with, like, some random ass shit. And, like, I think it looks cool.
Pizario
I think it looks cool. Like these pictures that you pulled up right here. These are fire.
Josh Lea
These are fire leopard print on men. And it's one of those things where it's always been cool.
Pizario
I agree. I like it. And it's a good one. It's a good one. And she.
Jess
To print matching bedroom furniture.
Pizario
Let me see. Ooh.
Josh Lea
Ooh.
Pizario
This almost goes down to the same point you were given. It's just. There's no creativity. Yeah, there's no creativity. This is a set that they got at Ashley's Furniture, which. Nothing's wrong with it.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
But you can show a lot about your personality. Like, people don't. People are almost afraid to explore. They just need to be all matchy matchy if. Look, I think my mom has the bottom left one.
Josh Lea
Yeah, yeah, my mom does too.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
So this reminds me of, like, a house that, like, they set up, like, in the. In the big bear cabins.
Pizario
Yeah, right.
Josh Lea
It's very like that. I think they're timeless. But I think definitely if you have, you know, if you have the. The. The funds to put in. Put on your own, like, little touch to it. Yeah, I think that's cool. Like, if your bed wants to be brown and you have this, like, this. This cajon or like a nice sand that's blue, go for it. You know what I mean?
Pizario
But also, bro, there's a certain eye when it comes to, like, furniture. Like, not everybody has it.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
That's why I think they just revert to, like, just buying at the set. Because being creative with the furniture is almost like fashion.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
It's the same thing. Like, you can't just buy anything. Like, there has to be some sort of.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
You know?
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
You know, Creativity.
Josh Lea
Yeah. Like some flow.
Pizario
Flow. Thank you.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
I was looking for.
Josh Lea
No. Yeah. But this is definitely on some Ashley's furniture. And I'm not hating on it. I mean, I've had many Ashley furnitures, and honestly, ye. It made me feel good.
Pizario
Yeah. So you know what? I'm in. I'm in. But don't be afraid to be creative.
Josh Lea
Yeah. You know, I think wallpaper is super in. I love when. When houses have wallpaper and very creative wallpaper.
Pizario
Like the top left one right there.
Josh Lea
Yeah. Or like my guest, the. The guest bathroom that I still haven't showed anybody, like, that has really good wallpaper with Venetian plaster. Yeah, Venetian plaster.
Pizario
But not everybody knows that, bro. Like, I. I wouldn't know that. I. I got inspired by your bathroom. You know, sometimes you need that. Like Karen kn.
Josh Lea
I didn't know that.
Pizario
Damn.
Josh Lea
Karen's the mastermind.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Venetian plaster.
Pizario
But that's the cool thing about, like, social media and like all these platforms, like Pinterest and stuff. You can pull so much inspiration from places.
Josh Lea
Like, I'm a big minimalist yet high tech guy.
Pizario
Okay.
Josh Lea
You know what I mean?
Pizario
No. Give me an example.
Josh Lea
Like a minimal type bench, but it has outlets for your iPhone.
Pizario
That's cool.
Josh Lea
You know? Or like hands free charger.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Or it's somehow connected to a bluetooth, you know, but it's very minimal.
Pizario
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh Lea
Like that. It's subtle. I like subtle stuff.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
But you're like, oh, yeah. I'm like, oh, this is cool.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
But yeah, stuff like that.
Pizario
Like something even like, like kind of like that. Like, I love when an outlet has like a USB port as well. I'm like, beautiful.
Josh Lea
Like, if your house is like, instead of like the outlets and they all have, like, outlets, but also like a USBC one, I'm like, you're sick.
Pizario
You're sick.
Josh Lea
Like, you're sick. Like I love your house.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Yeah.
Pizario
It's so minor, but it's like, I.
Josh Lea
Love a smart home.
Pizario
Yeah.
Josh Lea
Yeah, it's cool. Yeah. I think that's it, right?
Pizario
Peasy. Episode 176 in the books, baby. 2025. We in this hoe.
Josh Lea
Just like we never left, huh?
Pizario
We in it.
Josh Lea
We're in it. Once again, big thank you to our sponsors over at Sea Geek. We love you guys.
Pizario
Yep.
Josh Lea
Jess, thank you for creating this show. One thing that really made me happy this year is I saw the comments of the highlight videos, and they said, like, a lot of people were talking about you and how you've elevated the show, and I'm like, wow, this is amazing. And it's so good. So. So also for Matt as well. I saw that, and it was just really cool to see that. I'm like, yes, thank you. Because I feel the same way. Thank you. And honestly, can we just give it up for everybody, too? But, like, that Grinch episode was so cool.
Pizario
Wow, bro, do. So we shot that episode probably three weeks, maybe even four weeks prior to coming out. So I was waiting for the episode just as much as everybody else was. Like, I was so excited to watch it back. And such a fun episode. Man, we got to do that again. Or we actually talked about this as far as, like, doing, like, an episode like that maybe every three months where we, like, go full on, whatever it is.
Josh Lea
Yeah, we have some ideas.
Pizario
Yeah, we got some.
Josh Lea
We have to. Because at the end of the day, we need to keep this interesting for us, you know? And that's what we talked about. That's what we talked about. Shout out to Nico and Cat. I'm gonna post them on my Instagram so people can understand or know who they are, because I definitely think you should hire them if you ever have an event like that. Amazing people. Not only talented, but just super cool to hang out with.
Pizario
Yeah. 100.
Josh Lea
So that Grinch episode was cool. And I will never, ever, ever, ever forget that episode. And I just know that I'm a really pretty Cindy Lou, bro.
Pizario
The finest.
Josh Lea
And that's it, man.
Pizario
Those thighs have me hypnotized.
Josh Lea
All right. What a fun time, guys. Happy New Year. I want to know what you guys's goals are for 2025. 2025. Oh, my God. That's crazy. Yeah.
Pizario
Love you guys.
Josh Lea
Thank you. See you guys. Subscribe to the channel. Follow us if you're new here. Welcome. This is La Platica, and we love your ass. It's really hard to forget.
