Saul
Ladies and gentlemen, let me just tell
Jessica
you this is La Platica Episode 257, Summer Vacation.
Saul
257. We on vacation.
Josh
What's up with it? Summer is cracking. Yo. Happy Monday. Monday's on. You're watching this right now. You're listening to us listening to this. To be honest, we're on vacation right now, so we're playing a little futuristic. Yeah, we on some Futurama.
Saul
We're in the future right now.
Josh
We're in the future. So while you listening, we chilling somewhere by a Bye bye Bye. A day bed. Sound like that Little day club. Sound like that Eating lobster. Eating lobster. Something like that. Enjoying our time, resetting our life moments. Because everybody needs a reset.
Saul
You need a reset, man.
Josh
You need a reset to come back. It's like, it's like, it's like. Like when your PS2 stopped working, you know?
Jessica
Or.
Josh
Or like when your phone starts acting up reset. And you do the up, down and then on the right, and then you do a hard reset, you know, your phone just kind of freshens up. That's what we're doing right now. So we're enjoying our time. Stop interrupting me.
Saul
No. You might be on the treadmill right now. Listen, if you listen to me right now, I am not on the treadmill.
Josh
Me neither.
Saul
I am blacked out as we speak. As you're listening to this, I believe it. I'm not here.
Josh
I believe it.
Saul
I'm not here nor there. I'm not anywhere.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
And I'm under there. Under where?
Robert
Yeah.
Josh
And I'm super in debt right now. Most likely. Spending too much money right now. Most likely.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
But we're having a good time. Hopefully everything goes well. Speaking to several in the future in our vacation. So, speaking of vacations. Well, this video is sponsored by. This podcast entirely. Is sponsored by cg, the number one rated ticketing app on the App Store. We really hope you guys are having a great week. Please be enjoying your summer. I heard that. It's not. It's. It's gonna. The sun's gonna start to fall down.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
Sooner now.
Saul
I think we just had our latest sunset recently.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
Like at 8:30 now. It's gonna keep going.
Josh
Eight, 7:30 earlier.
Saul
That breaks my heart, man.
Josh
Yeah, I like when this.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
I like long days. I hate when. Dude, what month is it when it's like the sun's out, like 3:30 30. It's like, damn, bro, you wake up, go to the gym, have lunch, and then you gotta go to sleep already.
Saul
Yeah, bro, I'm not a big fan of those. I'm not a big fan of those. One thing I am a is vacation. So I love vacation. I love me a good vacation. I look forward to the next vacation. I feel like I'm already thinking about the next vacation before my first vacation. Because I feel like I operate better as a human when I know I have something coming up. You know what I mean? When I know I got that vacation coming up. I'm just operating differently, bro. I'm more locked in. There's like an end goal, you know? But I will say this. Sometimes the planning of the trip is more Fun than the trip itself. You felt like that?
Josh
Yeah, like, the.
Saul
The build up to the trip is, like, so, like, crazy because I think your mind just operates in highlights, right?
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
But, like, when life is like, there's ebbs and flows.
Josh
Right?
Saul
So even on vacation, there's moments where we're chilling, you know, and it's not all this, like, peak. But yeah, it's interesting.
Josh
I like.
Saul
I like thinking about that. I also think about how it's. You look forward to something. I think we've talked about. This cannot wait. Then you go on the trip and it's over and that's it. And, like, that thing that you had been holding on to is just gone.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
It's done. On to the next.
Josh
Yeah. That's why when, you know, when you get to it and you did all the planning and the itinerary is done and, you know, you hop on that plane, the only thing you got to worry about is, hey, whatever happens happens. If the itinerary goes well or if it works out, if all the restaurants that we booked and all the stuff that we're meant to do works out, cool. If it doesn't, who cares? We'll figure it out. Enjoy every single second.
Saul
I have a question for you. What are your thoughts on neck pillows and how many have you bought? Because I've bought so many neck pillows and, like, I. I forget that they don't really do much. Like, yeah, they're, like, kind of help, but not really. I think they're a gimmick.
Josh
Yeah. You know, I. I might sound. So. I. I don't want to say this, like, in a bad way, because I'm not. I feel like I've worked hard for.
Jessica
For.
Josh
For whatever reason. Right. I don't really need a neck pillow in business class.
Saul
What does that have to do with a neck pillow?
Josh
Because the seat goes down and I don't need a neck pillow.
Saul
You don't have to be so upright.
Josh
Yeah. But when I end up being in, like, Delta Comfort, because I only fly Delta. Delta Comfort. Or just. Or for example, we were just all the way in the back by the vinyls the other day. You know what I mean? I would need a neck pillow for that. Because. Hurts.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
But I'm not a big neck pillow guy.
Saul
I always feel like they're a good idea to buy, and then I buy it and I'm like, this is dumb. And I'm holding. I'm walking around the airport looking like an idiot with a fudgeing neck pillow. I will strap to tell you this.
Josh
Don't buy the ones that feel beady. Have you seen those? Because there's some that have, like, that memory foam and you can see unaves. I had a neck pillow, the beady ones, because they feel phenomenal. It's like you just squish them.
Saul
Yeah, right.
Josh
SEM rompio on the flight. Beads everywhere.
Jessica
Wow.
Josh
Embarrassing. So you know what? After that, I wasn't a big neck pillow guy. I kind of tend to figure it out. I have my. What I don't like is like, I feel like nowadays on the planes, the headrest, whether you're on business class or not, they fold. They fold. So it's like. It's kind of good, right? It's okay. What's more. Yeah, but what's more important to me is the way I look while I sleep in front of people.
Saul
Your mouth falls open.
Josh
Yeah, it's It. I try not to because, you know, you try to sleep. Cute.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
But once you're in sleep mode, that out like the mummy returns.
Saul
And then you wake up, your mouth is just dry.
Josh
Dry as. It's almost like I ate a conejo.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
And then you're like, oh, my God, am I sick? No. And like, you're just breathing people's air in the plane. It's just kind of nasty.
Saul
And you know that your mouth was open. Is that one of those things? Like, oh, I was it? No, it's like, you know, because you wake up and your mouth is so open.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
And.
Josh
And then.
Saul
And then the.
Josh
The flight attendant guy or girl walks by, and then he goes, hi, sleepy head. It's embarrassing.
Saul
Completely embarrass you with the good morning.
Josh
And then I'm like this. And I'm like. So most importantly for me is I have like a hoodie all the time, whether I wear it or not. But I just put it over my face and then I can just, you know, Shades.
Saul
I. I've discovered shades.
Josh
Shades. I. I need my. My AirPod maxes, those bigger ones, because they have, like, noise cancellation. I don't like to wear the regular AirPods because they'll fall off. I don't know. Since day one, since they invented those things, they don't stick to my ears very well. So they're pod maxing. I do noise cancellation. I don't. They're not even for music. It's just noise cancellation. And then I knock out. So that's definitely one of my, like, have to travel essentials.
Saul
My least favorite thing about vacationing is traveling, bro. I don't like to Travel. Like, being at the airport is fun for, like, an hour.
Josh
Right.
Saul
But then, like, being on the plane and, like, all that. Especially when, like, you go on vacation and then you're traveling from place to place to place.
Jessica
Yeah.
Josh
The layover.
Saul
The layover. All that stuff, bro. Oh, man. That's like. I wish we could teleport. I really wish we could teleport. We kind of do when we fly.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
It's just. That's process.
Josh
Modern teleportation is.
Saul
I. I think I saw, like, they're the planes that they're coming out with now. They're, like, getting from, like, New York to London in, like, four hours.
Josh
Yeah. I think they were saying that Delta or somebody, they're gonna come out with, like, supersonic jet airplanes.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
They look like normal planes. A little smaller, kind of big, though. And they'll get from LAX to JFK in, like, about three hours. Imagine that.
Saul
Yeah, it sounds fast, which it is fast. But three hours is still three hours.
Jessica
Yeah.
Josh
It's like.
Saul
You're not like.
Josh
It's like, all right, all right. To be honest, I don't mind the JFK FL.
Saul
Only 20 minutes. I'm like, damn, we moved. But three hours.
Josh
I'm like, all right. It's still like, what is two hours of me saving? You know what I mean? Like, I'd rather be on the flight an extra two hours and enjoy another movie.
Saul
Sure.
Josh
Another meal. Sleep a little bit longer. You know, so it's not all, like, glitz and glam. All dandy. You know? Like, I rather have a JFK flight to be Five and a half, six hours.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
Because I can sleep three hours. What the fuck is that?
Saul
Nothing. That's what I'm saying. It's like. I'm like.
Josh
Yeah. It's like. Okay. What we need is what the Japanese have is like, that silver bullet thing.
Saul
Oh, my brother was just on it.
Josh
Did he go on? Yeah. What was his experience? I love that thing.
Saul
I love that he's like, how fast you think you're going? I think he said, like, 180 there.
Josh
Yeah, they're 180. They're on time, they're clean.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
They're accessible. Easy to get on.
Saul
Bullet train.
Josh
The bullet train. So what? I call it the silver bullet.
Saul
So. 160. 160. Damn. That is still really.
Josh
Yeah, but they go up to.
Robert
They.
Josh
Up they go. Sometimes up to 200. Bro.
Saul
Do you know how fast you fly on an airplane?
Josh
Like 500? No, bro.
Saul
That's kind of crazy to think about. Sometimes I'll like, have those moments where I'm like, on an airplane. I'm like, we are moving 500 miles an hour, 35,000ft above the earth, and it trips me out and then I have a severe anxiety attack. And then I go to Tequila Sellers place, immediately stop and why can't we teleport?
Josh
I love a tequila soda on the flight.
Saul
Yeah. You know what's funny? I've kind of. I've gotten over the tequila sodas on the flight. I'd like whiskey on a flight now.
Josh
Clean. Yeah. Neat.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
Or with a little piederita. A little. Couple rocks?
Saul
Yeah. On the rocks. On the rocks.
Josh
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Saul
So today we're gonna be talking about the best kind of peoples to travel. We're gonna be doing a travel episode, vacation episode.
Josh
Since we're out and about, you guys
Saul
are going to view our stories. We're getting lit, if you notice. I think a trend with me is like, when I'm on vacation, I'm like a full blown travel influencer. All of a sudden, I start posting stories. I'm fucking vlogging.
Josh
You're that guy.
Saul
I'm that guy. Because I don't overthink it because I'm drunk.
Jessica
Yeah.
Saul
I was like, fuck it, you know? But as soon as I get in my head, I don't post as much. So if you see me posting a lot, shoot me a little.
Josh
We like Josh on vacation.
Robert
Yeah.
Josh
We hope that you continue posting when you actually even come back. Show us more of your life, dude.
Saul
Pass,
Josh
please. Dude. Yeah, so we're definitely talking about that. So we, we travel quite a bit. So I think we are the perfect people for this.
Saul
So there's different experiences that we have when we travel depending on the group or person we're traveling with. For example, if I'm just traveling with Mo, I am the captain of the ship entirely, right? The Ubers, the, the flights, everything is taken care of. All she has to do is just show up.
Josh
That's lucky her.
Saul
That's it.
Josh
I wish I was Mo.
Saul
Yeah. Yeah. Now I will, I will say I do it because, like, that I love to lead, right? Like, I love to lead, but I also really enjoy, like, being on a trip with somebody who is like a true, true planner. Because I don't think that's really who I am, if I'm being honest, bro. I just do it because I, I, I need a lead is I have
Josh
to do it, right?
Saul
But if I'm on a trip with, like, for example, the first person that comes to Mind is Robert, right? Robert, on this specific vacation, figured, got us a concierge personally for me. He booked my flights, got us the Airbnbs, got us a hotel situation. Everything has been taken care of that all I have to do is show up and hand over my credit card. But you know what I'm saying? So that process, I'm like, I like this.
Robert
Yeah, yeah.
Saul
And he's been asking us, yo, what do you think about this? Me and you are so similar, bro.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
And then we go to Robert, like, robert, guess what? We don't give a bro. We don't care, because you got it. And I trust you.
Robert
Yeah.
Saul
So I don't care. Because I know no matter what you pick, we're gonna have a great time. And even if it's not my cup of tea. But one thing about me, bro, I'm not a nagger.
Josh
Yeah, me neither.
Saul
I'm not going to complain.
Josh
And that's why we don't give a right, because at the end of the day, we're all going to be together and that's all that matters.
Saul
Exactly.
Josh
For me, I don't care what DJs playing. I don't care about what we're eating, because it's going to be good as long as we're there. As long as everything is, like, in order, I'm good.
Jessica
I have a question.
Josh
Yes, ma'? Am.
Jessica
Do you guys, like, plan when you travel? Do you like to have, like an itinerary that kind of plans out hour by hour, everything that you guys are gonna do, or do you enjoy kind of like a combination of a little bit of this and then just some free time and whatever happens?
Saul
Yeah, that's such a good question. Can I answer real quick?
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
So I used to not do itineraries at all, bro. I would just show up to places, have an idea of what I wanted to do, and just do it right. And that was cool, but I don't feel like I gotta accomplish as much as I would like to. We recently, maybe within the year, we went to Puerto Rico. And the way we did it was like each day somebody was assigned to create an itinerary for that day. And it was so much fun and being able to just do different things and explore, you know what I mean? Like, really make the most out of the trip was really, really cool. But it is exhausting. It's not like a true relaxing vacation. You're moving.
Robert
Yeah.
Saul
You know what I mean? Which is also fun. So it just really depends on what vacation I'm. I'm going on.
Josh
And I was just about to say that it depends where we're going now. Spoiler alert. Currently, I don't know if we're going to be in Santrope at the moment or Amikonos, but that's the places we're going to. And those kind of places, you don't just show up and figure it out.
Saul
Good point.
Josh
Things have to be booked. It is a super popular destination for the summer. And if you're not planning things and booking things in advance, you're going to be out of luck and you're just going to be figuring it out, waiting in line, seeing if you can get in. Table, mind you, also on the other side is like, yeah, it's a super popular spot, but it's not just four people going, right? It's about 12 of us.
Saul
13.
Josh
13. So when it's 13 people, everything has to be planned.
Saul
That's a good point.
Josh
Now, do I personally like an itinerary? Would I do. I prefer not to have one. I prefer not to have one. I am a very free. I'll figure it out. I think the magic in traveling is figuring it out. I think the magic in traveling is getting to know people, ending up in spots you never thought of, you know, but that can also go south very
Saul
fast because you're just walking around aimlessly.
Josh
But it depends if I'm in Mexico, if I'm somewhere tropical, you know, this vacation is to somewhat party, somewhat let loose, somewhat enjoy our time with our wives, with our partners. And yeah, now having an itinerary sometimes can be a little bit difficult. If it's just guys, guys don't give a. We wake up, not even brush our teeth. Same underworld we'll go with within our day. I might be speaking for myself.
Saul
Yeah, you are.
Josh
But what I'm trying to say is we're super easy. We get up and go. Right. We don't got to do no makeup. We don't got to like. We don't really care about creating content, to be honest. Yeah, we don't care about any of that stuff. We're just enjoying our time and our camaraderie. But when you have the women involved, it's like we have to respect that. There's some time that they need to get ready, they need to get glammed. They want to do some content, that's fine. We don't want to rush them. Because when you rush them, takes away from their vacation. Takes away. It's a stressful thing. You know, in the beginning, I used to Be like, ah, come on, like, let's just. Who cares? Just put this or that. But no, a woman likes to feel a certain way, and you got to respect that. So having an itinerary packed and having back to back things sometimes might be too much. So it kind of. I feel like the group of friends that I have, we have. We have kind of mastered itineraries. So it's like, as long as there's one dinner and one thing to do during the day, we're good. You know what I mean? Nothing too early, nothing too like that. But at the same time, we do have an itinerary, especially for this trip. So everybody is bound to review that itinerary and say, okay. And plus, having an itinerary is super important for the girls too, because the outfits, right. You know, dress codes. Where we're going is not. No, like, sorry, but it's not Puerto Vallarta, you know what I mean? Where you can just figure it out. I love Puerto Vallarta. The PV love it. But it's. There's a lot of strict things out there, you know? So having an itinerary for places like. Itinerary for places like that, highly recommend. If you can get concierge to do that for you.
Saul
If I'm just going on a tropical vacation, though, bro, like where I'm just like, my main thing is, like being at the resort.
Josh
No, there's no reason why I'm just showing up. Or if you're at a hotel, most of them, Most of them offer it. Concierge. Hey, what do you guys have to offer, you know? Oh, well, we're in relationships with everybody around us. So, you know, if you're in Cabo, Cancun, Dondesa, you know, tomorrow morning, there's seat, there's. There's jet skis. You guys want to get on those? Cool, let's do that. There's a tour. There's a tour doing this. There's an adventure park over here. You know, I can get you a dinner reservation here. And that's why I love Cabo so much. Yeah. Because Cabo, they can get you anywhere at any time, at any dinner, any adventure, any boat. So, yeah, definitely. It depends on the trip. Now, one of my favorite things to do is go to places that I'm unknown of and figure it out. When I go to Japan, I like to figure it out. Now that I'm going back, maybe I have a favorite spot. I'll do a little mini itinerary.
Saul
When are you going back?
Josh
In November.
Saul
Oh, are you going with Andre?
Josh
He's going with me.
Saul
Got it.
Josh
Yeah. So. No, no, we're going. But so long story short, my dad, he turned 60 this year. He just retired last year. Remember I got him a Rolex and he turned 16. I told him, I said, hey, donde tu quieras, Wherever you want, I'll take you. And I kind of up saying that, but he said, and it was kind of cute. You know, my dad, Mexican. You know, my dad, Mexican dad, you know, hard worker, blue collar dad. He said, well, he took him a while because he's very. He doesn't like to admit it, but he's very shy. He's a shy guy. Even when I go take him to
Saul
go shopping for, he doesn't like to admit that.
Josh
That he's shy.
Saul
Yeah, no. So if you tell him like, you know, you're shy, right? He's like, no, I'm not. Yeah, your dad is shy.
Josh
My dad's shy.
Saul
I can confirm that he's shy.
Josh
Yeah, he's a shy guy. Like he's not like out there, like.
Saul
No, your mom is more.
Josh
My mom is. I get my personality from my mother.
Saul
Totally. But you get a little bit of your dad too.
Josh
Yeah, maybe. Maybe I can see.
Saul
Yeah, sometimes I see it.
Josh
So. So I asked him, I said, yo, wherever you want, you know. And he's kind of themy though, you know, I don't, I don't know. You know, it's because. And we'll, and we'll speak about my parents right now. When, when traveling with my parents. Oh my God. The best or no, no, no offense, mother Lorena. No offense. It's cute, but. So he, he goes, I, I don't, I don't know, man. He goes, ever since I was. He said, well, when I was a little kid, I, I always wondered what Paris would look like. I said, Paris, Inland Empire or Paris, France, homeboy? He goes, yeah, Paris, like the Eiffel Tower. I said, oh, that's really cute of you to say that. Grown ass man. Want to go to Paris? It's a girl spot. Where do you want to be in love again? The city of love you want to cross on? Yeah. I was like, look dad, I was like, if you want to go to Paris, let's go to Paris. Whatever you want. I was like, but let me tell you something. I've been to Paris. Super cool, super cool, light, love it. I was like, but I don't think he's never been outside the, the Mexico, United States. So he used to live in Alaska. So he's been in Alaska when he, when he was a lot younger. Mexico, basically. And, like, you know, traveled to Washington State. Never been outside of this little area, right? Like, never. So that's what I'm telling him. Like, bro, we'll go wherever you want. So I told him, I, look, it's cool. You, you, you. You'll see a different culture. But all we're going to do is shop, go out to eat. There's a couple things to go see, you know, depending on blah, blah, blah, like, how much time. Like the Eiffel Tower, the garden of Versailles, the, the. The tunnels where all the bones are at. I forgot what it's called. The catacombs. You know, there's a lot of things to do. We can even go to a football game, whatever. But I was like, it's just. I just feel like there's better options. We can do that here, you know, it's a city. I was like, how about I take you to Japan? Because Japan is completely black and white. You have no idea what they're saying. The food, the culture, it's so clean, it's so safe. And another thing is, you go to France, man, you're spending bread.
Robert
Yeah.
Josh
And I'm like, yo, I'm gonna pay for most of the. But, like, you're also gonna pay, like. And I don't want you to, like, you know, overdraft vibes.
Saul
So Paris is more expensive than Japan.
Josh
Of course. Of course, brother. Come on, brother.
Saul
Damn.
Josh
By a lot. By a whopping lot.
Saul
Is Japan considered, like, inexpensive or is like a middle tier?
Josh
The dollar goes a long way.
Saul
Oh, no way.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
I mean, not like, not like Thailand. Everyone talks about Thailand, where, like, $1, you're a millionaire.
Josh
Oh, yeah, that's true, though.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
Like, money goes a very longer than Japan. But, like, shopping is cheap, restaurants are cheap. And in France, like, you can go to any restaurant. Right. But, like, most of the restaurants in Paris, they're all. They're all overcharging.
Jessica
Yeah.
Josh
And you're spending like, eloquence, so it's like you're spending like, double the amount of $.
Saul
Well, I think justice pulled it up. In Japan, you're not €7 for $1. Wow. It's $0.87, essentially.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
Dollar.
Josh
So the dollar is not much. And then how much?
Saul
You see, dude, money and all this stuff, like, I get it, but it's so, like, weird.
Robert
Yeah.
Saul
Like the value. You know what I mean?
Josh
Don't get me wrong. France is phenomenal. I mean, the history there, I Love that city. And I hope to one day take them again, you know, maybe do Paris. And then the beautiful thing about going to France and Paris is you can move to Italy, you can move to Spain. Like that. So that's why we're going to Japan. Japan for his birthday with my mom and my family.
Robert
Yeah.
Saul
Oh, that's cool.
Josh
And then we mentioned it to our friend and he was like, dude, I'll go. So he's gonna go earlier and then leave earlier than us, but we'll meet in the middle a couple days.
Saul
Yeah, that's dope.
Josh
So, dude, it's just. It's just such a great thing. So, yeah, speaking of our itineraries, Japan
Saul
is something I definitely want to do, man.
Josh
Dude, when you go, please let me go with you.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
The only thing is like, the flight's pretty. Like it's a long. It's a 10, 11 hour flight.
Saul
Yeah, I. Those are long flights.
Jessica
Yeah.
Saul
Super quick story. One time I was on a flight to Australia. Have I said this story on the podcast? I was on a flight to Australia and we have to go past the Pacific Ocean and. Right. Because you go across. And we passed Hawaii. And from LA to Hawaii alone is already five hours. And this is like a midnight flight. And then we get the intercom goes on and basically we have to do an emergency landing because somebody's having a seizure on the flight. We're like two hours past Hawaii, so we have to turn back around, land in Hawaii, then continue to go to Australia. So an 18 hour flight turned into like basically 24 hours. Dude, that I was sitting on an airplane. Crazy. That was the longest like sitting I've ever done in like a flight.
Josh
What was Your seat number?
Saul
37B.
Josh
Chat.
Saul
Yeah, I was like. But the. Here's like, here's the caveat. I was like 23 years old and I was new in the YouTube scene. I got flown out by like this like, like a VidCon kind of convention thing. So I was like living. You know what I mean? It just felt like new. Like there was an adventure. And I was like, oh my God, this is crazy. Like somebody's dying. No, they were good, they were good, they were good. I don't mean to make a joke out of that.
Josh
Wow.
Saul
But it was like, you know when you're just like that, like that energy.
Josh
That's a lovely.
Saul
I miss that like curiosity energy of like, where is this is new? You know?
Jessica
When was the last time you felt like that?
Saul
Man, that's such a good question.
Josh
I.
Saul
This is Going to be really vulnerable. Okay. I don't think I've allowed myself to feel like that because I've had a lot of really cool moments happen in these past like five years since like I've started saluth. Right. And I don't allow myself to feel it. I almost feel like I have to be this person that people are expecting me to be in those moments. So it doesn't allow me to just be like a child. I have to be like Josh Leyva. You know what I mean? Like, have it all together. But it's like you have to allow yourself, bro, to be like, damn, this is incredible. Like almost allow yourself to feel. To feel and be silly and like really take it in.
Josh
Yeah. Because I mean, I feel like if being who you are genuinely has brought you to the.
Saul
For sure. For sure.
Josh
The places you, you are and who
Saul
you are, but you still have to put yourself, allow yourself to feel that you have to. So it just sucks.
Josh
Which is a mature thing to do.
Saul
I've kind of robbed myself of that. You know what I mean? Of like that excitement, that newness that I really even like, driving over here, I was like just thinking, this is going to be really arrogant. I don't even want to tell a story, actually. Never mind tell.
Josh
What is it? We know you're not arrogant. It's okay to be proud of yourself.
Saul
Yeah, I. So I was in, I was in my. So I have like three cars now. So I was in my. I was in. I was in one of my cars earlier in the day and then I switched over to like my other car to come to the studio. And then I was thinking like, man, 23 year old Josh would be tripping out right now. And I'm like just taking this, like nothing. So it's just like reminding myself of like, dude, you pray. Like you wanted this so bad. You're here. Like, stop thinking about like. Because I started thinking about my life in five years of where I wanted to be and the things that I wanted to have. Materialistic things. And then it's like, bro, I have so much goodness in my life now. It's like, this is the best part where you're in right now.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
You know what I mean? Because you don't know what the fuck the future is going to hold, man. Like, you have no idea how much more stress you have a stress, whatever it may be. Yeah.
Josh
You're living like, like, bro, like if, if, if, if the ocito went up to you, right? Said, josh, let me tell you something. Either you can figure it out by yourself again and maybe you'll be more successful, more stressed out. There might be more money. There might not be. There might be more happiness. There might not be. But what about if I tell you this, if you stick to the life you have right now forever, and this is how you'll remain for the rest of your life, would you take that?
Saul
Yes.
Josh
Right?
Saul
Yes. Yes.
Josh
Yeah. Right? Yeah, it's almost like. It's almost like. Yeah. Like it's like seeing the money, right?
Saul
Yeah, it's like. Yeah, I'll take it for sure. Because the goal isn't like you. We think that the goal is making it.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
Whatever that making it is in our mind. Like, we, like, that's it. Once I get there, then it'll be figured out. Yeah, but it's like you're gonna. Let's just hopefully. And I hope everybody achieves their dreams. You achieve your dream and then what? Yeah, you know what I mean? And just like. And then you look back at like the stories that you had and the grind and everything you had to get to, to get to the point that you didn't enjoy because you're so focused on like getting to the thing. And now that you have it, you're like, what now?
Jessica
Yeah.
Josh
Which is. And that's why it's. That's why you sometimes think like that. Oh, I just hop from one car to another.
Saul
Yeah.
Robert
Because.
Josh
And then you don't think about it because you're right. And then what?
Saul
Yeah, it's achievable.
Josh
And that goes for everybody back at home and everybody in this room. You can get that.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
You know, and once you get it, trust me. Yeah. It's not going to be like what you think it is right now. It's almost. Okay, cool. What's next? You know, obviously we're super grateful. Anybody should be grateful of what they have, right?
Saul
Yeah, absolutely.
Josh
But, yeah, it's. We think success is something, but it's really not that success is being comfortable
Saul
being happy for 100%, bro.
Josh
Being telling yourself, like, wow, I have a routine. The people around me love me. I love myself.
Robert
I'm.
Josh
I'm comfortable where I'm at, you know, but if, if somebody offered you that, you know, like, if God offered you
Saul
like that dream that you have, I can make that happen for you instantly. Is that what you're saying?
Josh
No, I'm saying like, who you are right now because you're saying like, wow, I'm so happy. 23 year old Josh would have been so happy right now, right? You're. You're at such a good spot, right? What I'm saying is, if the Oito went up to you and was like, hey, I'll keep you here forever, or you can figure it out on your own. I'm sure you'll figure it out. But we don't know what's going to happen in the future. Would you stay here now?
Saul
Oh, I see what you're saying now. Sorry, I didn't really fully get it. Yeah, yeah, totally. Totally.
Josh
Right. Because you're like, yeah, cool. Yeah, I think I would say the same thing.
Saul
But you know what's crazy? That is the options that we have kind of.
Josh
Yeah, yeah.
Saul
That is the reality.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
I saw this one guy talk about this on Tick Tock, where he was basically saying, like, it was like a meditation practice where you close your eyes and then you envision yourself as an 86 year old, like, person, like, basically like on your deathbed and just like, thinking about how you're, like, looking back at your life and you're wishing what it would feel like to be your current age right now. Right. And, like, really think about, like, what you would do differently. If you can go back to where you're currently at and then you're open your eyes and it's like, it happened. You're there, you're there. We're here at that moment that we're going to be, like, looking back at. So it's like really cool practice to be like, damn, like, I'm here right now. I got to. I got to capitalize. I got to like. Yeah, do some.
Josh
I really like those videos that are, like, going around. I don't know if they're in your guys's feed, but it's like a guy or a girl and they're. They're just practicing being grateful for what they have. And they say it out loud, like in their backyard.
Saul
No, that's cool.
Josh
He goes, today I woke up, I have food on the table. The sun is out. I'm able to be here. I'm financially this, you know, or not. But, like, they're just happy that they're breathing, that they're doing this, they're doing that. It's nice.
Saul
That's really cool.
Josh
It's nice to hear that.
Saul
Yeah. This is going super off topic, but I want to kind of call him out on this. I saw Saul post something really beautiful on his Instagram and I was gonna message you about it, bro, because I was very, like, touched by it. Because we never know what people are Going through. And you're somebody that I would really watch from afar for a long time. And I was always just admiring your work ethic and, like, everything you were putting into your craft and stuff. Not knowing that you were going through challenges. You don't think about that. Right. Cause you just kind of see, like, the glitz and glamour of, like, everything, but just to see how, like, where you're at now, bro. And that you feel proud of yourself. I think that's a really cool thing. And if you don't know what I'm talking about. He posted a. You can. If you don't mind.
Josh
You.
Saul
Could you explain it?
Robert
Yeah.
Saul
Probably do a better job than me.
Robert
I think it was very important because I feel like on my social media, all I post is, like, my successes. Right?
Saul
Yeah.
Robert
Everybody sees. Oh, dang. He's doing so good. But, like, I was. I felt like I. Like, from the outside view, it looked like, oh. So I was doing. He's doing really good. He's having a really good summer. But I was having so many L's and losses and, like, just behind the scenes, like, it was very tough, and it gets me emotional. But I. I really enjoy, like, working here. Yeah. I didn't think I was gonna get hit.
Josh
Yeah.
Jessica
Yeah.
Josh
Let it out, bro.
Saul
I felt it, bro. I felt it on the post, by the way. I was like, damn, this is, like, I didn't see. I felt it, bro. I felt it.
Robert
Okay, I'm logging in. All right. So, like, I've always wanted this life, and, like, how you. You were saying right now where it's like, things are moving so fast, you don't, like, stop and, like, take it in. And I've been doing that this week. I was like, yo, I'm so proud of myself.
Josh
Yeah, well, I'm proud of you, too, so. For real.
Saul
Thank you, bro. I'm so. I'm so happy that you did share that, because I think it's important for people to, like, take a moment for themselves, take a moment for gratitude, and just realize, like, what you have.
Josh
Yeah. Be proud of yourself. Yeah. You know, even if that's like. Like you said, I don't want to talk about it because I don't want to sound arrogant. You're not sounding arrogant. You're proud of yourself. Yeah, it's okay. Sometimes I feel like in society, we're, like, shut down by, like, talking about how good I'm doing or talking about something, how bad we're doing.
Saul
I think there's a way to do it, though.
Josh
Of course. So, yeah, bro, you should be proud of yourself. But.
Saul
And, bro, you work so hard, dude. Like, you deserve everything that you have in your life. Not because it was handed to you, but because you really have put your heart and soul into this, that you are so deserving of it.
Robert
Thank you. And I think one thing that, like, makes me feel even, like, better is, like, I've generally looked up to both of you guys for a very long time. So I. I am, like, in my dream job. Like, everything is, like, awesome.
Saul
Yeah. And you get to create. You get to, like, really express yourself.
Robert
Yeah. You guys trust me and you guys believe in me. I'm like, it's fucking awesome. Like, and I was. When you guys were talking, I was thinking about it, because when I was younger, I was like, success to me is, like, money, and I want all this and all that, but success is this feeling that I've been having recently. I'm like, yo, damn, dope.
Saul
That's. That's success, bro. That's it right there. To get into it, to feel all this, to be a part of something, to create, like, that success. Because once we get, like, whatever the end goal is, once we get is, like, we don't have this anymore.
Robert
Yeah.
Saul
Then we don't have the grind. Then we don't have the process of creating.
Robert
Yeah. It really is the feeling and the journey. Yeah. That's like the. That's what success is.
Josh
Yeah. It's a journey. It's the journey of.
Saul
But enjoying the journey.
Josh
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Saul
That's the success. That's the tricky part. And not getting fixated on the outcome.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
Being fixated on the present.
Josh
Enjoying the journey is a success.
Saul
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh
Getting there is the magic in it.
Robert
It's.
Josh
It's. That's what should make you feel happy. Yeah. But definitely, I'm proud of you. And I'm proud of Jess, too. And, like, bro, even, like, hearing that, it's like, damn, like. Like, hearing you say, like, how happy you are here just makes me super, super. You know, it makes me emotional as well. I'm like, yeah, dude. Like, this is the dream. Like, that we all love being here, you know? So that's awesome. You know, like, even when nobody was here and it was just, like, me by myself, and then I got Josh on and, like, the fact that he loved being on here, you know, that to me, just made me so fucking happy, because to me, that was like, wow, okay. And then you saying that, it's like, that's awesome.
Saul
So, yeah, it's. It's crazy how life works out and like the way it's exactly supposed to, you know?
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
If you just kind of have like faith and just keep pushing.
Josh
Yeah. And that's really it. You just have to have faith in yourself. And after that, the puzzles will fit.
Saul
So should we go back on vacation? What kind of person on vacation do you think you are? Like on average?
Josh
Overall, I just think I just overall good vibes. You don't got to worry about me. You don't gotta. Yeah, I hate vacationing with people that I gotta like be looking at them and be like, are you having fun?
Saul
Not just on vacation. It's people in general.
Josh
People in general. Like that, that energy.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
Or like you, you're like your homie brought his girl over and she's whack, you know? Like, like I don't like that.
Saul
It does suck, bro.
Josh
Like I don't like that. Or vice versa. Your girlfriend, your friend that's a girl brings a guy over and he's whack, you know? Like, I don't like that. Like, don't be bringing people around me like that. And you know me, I'm always a good time energy, whether it be good time, whether I'm the life of the party or I'm just there. You don't got to worry about me. I'm just good.
Saul
Yeah. I'm not going to show up to an event that I was invited to by, especially by a guest and be like a fuchi face bro.
Josh
Never.
Saul
I'm going to be smiling, I'm going to be engaging with people and be conversating anything that I can to really like just offer myself, you know. And the people that don't have that. You lose me.
Josh
You lose me and it's okay. Some people don't have that. You know, like it might be easy for us to say cuz we're very outgoing or, or very charismatic and some people aren't and that's okay, right? Yeah. But I think if you have to like, like if you're not the charismatic person and you know what you're going to, you're about to jump into, you should tell yourself, man, I got to get out of my box. You know what I mean? Like, I gotta like figure it out. I gotta like speak up because you might not be like Fujiface, but you're also not saying anything. You're just there, you know?
Robert
Yeah.
Josh
And I, I just need people around me that are just uppity.
Robert
Yeah.
Saul
Especially on vacation.
Josh
Yeah, man, like especially on vacation. For sure.
Saul
Have you Ever gone on a solo vacation?
Josh
No. No.
Robert
Like, leave.
Saul
I'm not saying, like, just go to a movie theater or go to dinner, right?
Josh
So no, leave.
Saul
Book a flight, get out of here, check into it.
Josh
I mean, I go to Mexico all the time by myself sometimes, but that doesn't count now.
Saul
I'm talking about, like, solo retreat.
Josh
Like, no. No family there, right? Yeah, I haven't. And I would like that one day, but I haven't. It's just like, it's still a point right now where it's like, how do
Saul
you explain that to your wife?
Josh
That's what I'm saying. You can, bro. You think it's a good idea?
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
But then you tell your wife and you're like, she's like, why? Yeah, why? You know. No, Karen honestly would let me.
Saul
No, of course.
Josh
But it's still a little. It's weird. What?
Saul
Because if she said that.
Josh
If I said that, I would loki be like, why not have me there? Yeah, I want to go.
Saul
I'll let you have your space.
Josh
Yeah, I think. I think that's more single vibes. Yeah, I mean, you can definitely make that happen. Single vibes. What I've been wanting to do something is like, something like with my brother or you just us and just go get lost, you know? That's cool.
Saul
It is really cool. I did that with Marky, actually. We did a two week, just him and I in Italy, and we literally just allowed ourselves to get lost and just move wherever we want it. Until this day. I hold it in my heart. It's like such a special thing. And the stories of, like, just winging it. Like, we ended up in this, like, little small town that we wanted to go, like, wine tasting. And they. For the. For whatever reason, that whole city was just shut down. There was no. There was nothing happening. And there was only, like, you had to call a taxi to. To. To come get you. And if they. If they wanted to, you know, it'll just. In Europe, they just operate differently. Like, if somebody had it in their heart to be like, you know what? I'll go pick up these people. Then you might get a ride back to town. So we had no idea what was gonna happen. We ended up finding, like, a little local pub and just ended up like, just him and I.
Josh
Those are the best.
Saul
Just talking. And then we would try to call attack. We had to call like, three times. And then finally we had one guy was like, okay, I'll go get you guys. And finally, like, he came. And, like, the people around us Kind of saw what was happening, so they were, like, excited when the taxi guy came, like, they made it out.
Josh
And that's something you always remember.
Saul
Yeah, it's like, moments like that. But, yeah, you got to. I think that would be cool if you did that, and I'll do that with you.
Josh
Yeah, that would know. But going back to the question, I'm very easygoing, and you don't got to worry about me, you know, that I'm going to be the life of the party as well. Just like with all of my other friends. I've been with my friend. I've been with my friends since I was in high school. So we. I am very privileged to say that I have a really good group of friends that. That. That travel really well, because. And we're also the type, too. It's like, people see the things that we do and how we travel, and. And they'll be like, damn, like, I want to go. You know? But we're very picky because there's a certain way that we like to travel, and. And it's not that. There's not, like, a thing you have to, like, go through to, like, travel with us, you know, it's not that. It's just. There's a certain way that we like to travel, and, like, we have that. Yeah, it's really hard to bring somebody else in because I don't know how you're gonna act.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
You know, me and my guy friends, obviously, we always, like, take care of everything, and you know that. Yeah, the girls don't really have to worry about anything, but, like, I also don't want another guy friends I've never traveled to. Like, Whoa, whoa, whoa. We're splitting it. Why? Because of this? Or, you know, with my guy friends, there's no questions.
Robert
It's.
Josh
We're not splitting the food. We're splitting the time.
Saul
The tab.
Josh
Well, the tab. That is the time spent.
Saul
Got it?
Josh
If I'm. If I'm. The way that we. I don't know, some people might not agree with this, but the way that we are is we're all here together. We're all here together, vacationing. I don't care if you're not eating, but we're getting a table here or we're getting a reservation here, and if you're not eating, that's on you. But you're here, though, with us. Like, there's. There's a.
Robert
A.
Josh
There's a spot for you. That spot is what you're paying for, not the food, you know, That's a good point. And buy, like, a thousand bottles or a golden steak, you know, and. And have you figure it out.
Jessica
Right?
Saul
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Josh
Like, it's not like that either.
Saul
So, like, a respect boundary, of course.
Josh
But then again, if I did, my friends would understand and split it.
Saul
But there's also groups of people, bro, that. That's how they move, right?
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
Like, hey, we're going, and whatever you got, you're gonna pay for. And that's cool, right? Yeah, but it's just. It's understanding what group you're falling into.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
You know, so, like, you get mad at people if you're the picky person of, like, I only ate that. It's like, well, you're traveling with the wrong people.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
Because the way they're doing it is like, they're just splitting everything, man. So.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
You got to figure that out.
Josh
Yeah. Or like, me and. And Robert, we're always telling the. The waiter and the. Because me and him always have ate the same. You're not picky as well, either. But, like, every time we go out, me and Robert always, like, we're. We're the ones ordering the food. Get this, get that, get that. He trusts me. I trust him. Yeah, I get it. All right. But if there's people there that. Oh, I don't really eat that. And since they don't eat that, they don't feel like they're going to, like, pitch in for it. But at the same time, that's why we don't split the food. We split the time. You know what I mean?
Saul
That makes sense. Yeah, that makes sense.
Josh
Like, we're. We're on vacation to try things, to. To try it all, you know, whether it be expensive or not.
Saul
Yeah. It's.
Josh
We're just trying it. If they're serving cocodrillo, we're gonna eat it.
Saul
Traveling with someone new is like, a risk, bro, because you don't know when you travel with somebody.
Robert
Oh.
Josh
And you learn much about them.
Saul
About them. And it could be. It could be good or bad, but. And it sucks when it's like. It's trial and error.
Josh
Right.
Saul
If you're trialing. Trialing on a vacation that, like, you're so excited about, and then it just doesn't work out. It just ruins the whole vacation. It really does. It puts a sour, like.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
Taste in your mouth, and that's all you're thinking about on the vacation, like, how difficult the person is, how they're acting, their behavior, how they are when they're drunk.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
You know what I mean? Like, you learn so much.
Josh
Yeah, but who are you on vacation?
Saul
I'm definitely, like, I'm gonna go with the flow. I'm there to contribute. I'm there to have a good time. I'm there to, like, add
Josh
vibes.
Saul
Vibes. The energy. You know what I mean? I'm not gonna be picky. I'm not.
Josh
I'm.
Saul
I'm there, you know, I'm gonna deliver. I'm there. Whatever you're looking for, it's gonna be done by me. You know what I mean?
Josh
I can confirm, ladies and gentlemen, that Josh is a great person to travel with.
Saul
Yeah. Yeah.
Josh
There's nothing. You got to worry about him. He's going with the flow. If he wants to do something, we're all about it. If we want to do something, he's gonna be all about it. Yeah. And that's how you should be.
Saul
Yeah. I don't have to worry, like, you don't have to worry about me with the tap situation. You tell me. We're splitting this. You. You just got this. Do you mind paying for. Done, done, done, done. Josh can get the Uber. I'll get it. You know what I mean? I'm not gonna pick and, like, penny pinch you.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
You know, and the cool thing, by the way, bro, I don't. This has nothing to do with being financially set, by the way. Yeah, it helps, of course, but it's also like, if I'm putting myself in a situation where I'm going on vacation, like, you got to be prepared, bro. Some people just put themselves in situations where I'm like, dude, how did you think that was gonna work? Like, you. You have.
Josh
You mean.
Robert
What do you mean?
Saul
You came with 500 bucks for a seven day vacation. Like, what are you talking about? You know what I mean? And it's like, no, I could stretch it out. It's like, damn. But you're putting yourself in a bind here.
Josh
And then you don't want to do that to yourself.
Saul
To yourself. Yeah.
Josh
You're not gonna, you know.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
If it was that kind of vacation. I'm not saying those vacations aren't fun. I've done it many times. You know, you're just stretching out what you have, what you've saved up, but that's when you're just kind of doing it by yourself or with others who are doing it similar.
Saul
Similarly. Yeah, for sure.
Josh
But when people aren't doing that similar and like, I'm not. You're not gonna. I'm not gonna Tell you not to hang out with us. Right? Like, we'll figure it out. But, like, that person is, like, kind of ruining our everyone else. Everyone else's.
Saul
Dude, would you agree with this? If you are, like, added on to a trip, right? Like, it's like a vacation that was already planned and you kind of somehow got added on. You don't have a lot of room to shop call.
Josh
Yeah, you don't at all.
Saul
And you got to be okay with that. You can't be a person who gets, like, tagged on the vacation, Right? And you're throwing a fuchi face because you don't want to do this thing, or you're complaining about this, or you. You know what I mean? You just start like, no, I think we should do this. And you're doing it in a way that you're like, I'm. I'm gonna run this. No, bro, you can't do that. No. And that's why, like, that's like, human communication skills or people skills that I feel like people. A lot of people lack.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
It's like, hey, you didn't.
Josh
And it's common sense.
Saul
That's what I'm saying. That's not common.
Josh
Like, bro, if I was invited on last minute, hey, do you want. Or, like, I'll tell. Hey, can I go with you guys? And that wasn't the plan.
Robert
Yeah, yeah.
Josh
Come, come, come, man. Since I'm the last person I kind of invited myself, or I'm just going, like, with some friends. I'm doing anything. It doesn't have to deal with being financially stable. It doesn't have to deal with money or anything like that. I'm doing anything in my power to let these people know that I'm someone good to travel with.
Saul
And I'm also grateful.
Josh
And I'm also grateful. Hey, if. Hey.
Robert
Or.
Josh
Or you know what? You get invited and you're like, hey, we have an extra room. Come. Okay. Since I got that extra room. Oh, how much was it? Don't worry about it, bro.
Saul
We already got it. Just come.
Josh
Okay. That same day that I'm getting the groceries, I'm hiring a chef. The next day, I'm doing something. Grateful for my friends who invited me. That's good. To do something algo. To clean up or, you know. You know, I'm not saying be a. Be a. Be a maid, you know, or, like, do something, but, like, little things where. Where the others appreciate. Like, oh, wow, that's cool, man.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
You know, but 100. No shot calling cannot. You can now.
Saul
I'M not saying, I'm not saying. You can't say a word, right?
Josh
Sure, sure, sure.
Saul
But it's like one of those, like, dude, you can't get upset, you can't get bothered. You can't. You know what I mean? If this plans are a certain way.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
You know what I mean?
Josh
You can't come in here and. Yeah.
Saul
And if you. But if we ask you like, hey, what do you think about this? Obviously, you know, I would suggest that we do this instead. Sure.
Josh
Great. Yeah. You're not saying that.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
But for example, if you got invited last minute and then there's like a all suit, all sushi restaurant or all seafood and then that person who got invited last minute is like, I don't really see food. I think I don't want to go. Or why don't we go or why don't we go here. You can't say that.
Saul
Can't do that.
Josh
Can't do that.
Saul
Can't do that.
Josh
Suck it up. Can't, can't suck it up. You can't pick dollars off the pizza.
Saul
What about you guys? What kind of people. Are you on vacation? Because I don't think we've ever vacationed together. We've done the live shows, but that's different.
Jessica
No, I feel like I tend to. To be like, if I'm traveling with my girl and like a group of friends, I'm usually. Right. She's usually driving and I'm usually doing like shotgun. So where are we going next? What's the about? Like I am making sure that she doesn't have to worry about it.
Saul
That's really cool.
Jessica
We like to do a little bit of a combo itinerary and relaxing time situation. So. Yeah, just making sure that you. We know what our meals are going to be and that like everything is set. But also like in group friends and trips that I've gone with with like friends, I'm usually making food at some point or like I'll be the one making breakfast for everybody if the house.
Josh
I love that.
Saul
Yeah.
Jessica
And tea. Last time we did that, I literally, there was some girl, we never traveling with her again. But she literally was like, I don't like to cook for other people. And I was like, noted. Right. So then it's morning, everybody's still sleeping.
Saul
And I go, she's dead ass.
Jessica
No dead ass. So it's the only three of us that are awake at this point. It's me, her, and my other homegirl, which I had just met too.
Josh
She was an add on those two girls.
Jessica
Yes. Both of them were actually add ons. And the second whatever point is that she says that about not liking to make food for other people. And I'm like, noted, it's not for everybody.
Saul
I get it.
Jessica
Like, whatever add on. Right? And so I get in the kitchen, I'm like, everybody's going to start waking up. Let me start like cooking for them.
Robert
Love that.
Jessica
You know, prepping. So when they come out, there's that fruit and like whatever they want. And in the middle of me, I'm whipping out the fucking eggs and I'm doing what I'm doing. She's like, hey, like, do you mind if I make my eggs? And I was like, oh, I just. These literally just came out. Like, have them. Nobody else is up yet as well. Just eat them. And they were like, no, but I want to make. I have a very specific way I make them. You mean to tell me I'm over here cooking for everybody and you want to interrupt me in my process?
Josh
That's that shit I'm talking about. That's that crazy.
Saul
What was her process of the eggs?
Jessica
Girl, I don't know.
Josh
You know what? Some people just don't.
Robert
They.
Josh
They get an ick from others making their food because they don't know how they made it. That's the ick. They get that.
Robert
Yeah.
Josh
Like, bro, if you're on vacation and lovely Jess made me breakfast. Even if it was disgusting, even if she at making eggs.
Jessica
I'm not.
Josh
I know you're not. Even if it's just. It's just like, what the. You know, what the is this? I'm eating that.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
Because it is rude. It is rude to. To be like, yo, like, you know, like, you know, and if, if anything, I made it, I'm gonna make you feel appreciated.
Jessica
Yeah.
Josh
And if anything, I'll make my own links later.
Jessica
Exactly. That was my thing. It's just like, you couldn't wait until.
Josh
Exactly. It's like, bro, the. The audacity people have. I can't.
Saul
Were you guys friends? Prior acquaintances.
Jessica
Acquaintances.
Saul
But you had never traveled live with her? Been in like a living space, thought
Jessica
she was cool peeps.
Saul
And then like, damn, isn't it crazy you misread people like that? Or you're like, damn, I invite you because I thought you were gonna be a good time, but you suck.
Jessica
And she low key fooled everybody in the friend group. Like, we all thought it was gonna be great anyway. I. I'm also.
Saul
How was she a drunk, by the way?
Jessica
How was she Drunk?
Saul
Yeah.
Jessica
Oh, I did not get drunk with her.
Saul
Okay, good.
Jessica
Like, no, there was no way. And then so I'm also the friend group that's, like, looking up to see where are we gonna be. Okay. What's around there that we might want to see, that we might want to do? I'll have options in case someone's like, hey, I'm kind of hungry. It's like, oh, well, I found this spot. But nothing that's ever, like, tied to this is exactly what we have to do at this time. And then we got to go over here and then we got to be there by a. Like, none of that. That's too much stress for me.
Josh
I'm not trying to be like, that's not vacation.
Jessica
Yeah, no.
Saul
Yeah. And why do, why do people want to put themselves in those kind of situations? Like, bro, just relax.
Josh
Yeah. Relax, chill.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
We're here chilling. I feel like I can't.
Robert
I can't relax during vacation. No, no, because I, I.
Saul
You gotta capitalize. What are we doing? What was that?
Robert
We can do a podcast right here. No, I think I, I think too much about, like, wanting the other people I'm with to have a good time.
Josh
Oh, that's good.
Robert
So I'm just like, oh, we gotta do this, we gotta do this.
Josh
That's good though.
Robert
Let's do this. Let's do that. But I want to have a vacation where, like, someone like, takes care of you.
Josh
It's because probably in your friend group, you're the guy, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Saul
No, for sure you are, bro. Yeah, for sure you are.
Josh
One day vacation with us. Because I feel like all of the guys that are with us, we're all kind of alphas rock. Like, he, like Josh, Robert is really good with talking to people and making, getting done like that. But I, I'm the one that, that has known Robert the longest. I've known him since I was a senior in high school. And I feel like since that since. Since we. It's almost like something we know but we don't talk about is I personally feel myself. I don't know if Raul feels this way, but I feel like me and him are like the dads in the, in, in our, in our friend group. And we just want our friends to have a good time because we've known. Known each other for such a long time. You know what I mean? If we rent a car, either me or Robert will drive. I don't care if I'm partying in the back with my friends. I just need to take care of them. Yeah. And he. And I think. And I feel. I. I think I feel that he's the same way. We're like the. Not like the parents. Because I don't act like a parent, but.
Saul
No, you don't.
Josh
But you know what I mean, right? Like. Like, I rather you like, for example, when we were in. When we went to Arizona to go see the Dodger spring training.
Saul
Oh, yeah.
Josh
I'll drive, you know, and then, you know, even you, Josh, you told me, like, you want me to drive? Like, nah, bro. You go in the back with Mo. You know what I mean? Like, I don't care about that stuff. You guys have fun. I feel like that's also who I am. And so is Robert. Yeah, so you're probably like that too. That's why you can't relax.
Robert
Yeah.
Josh
Tell your friends to step up. Step up, bro. But then again, you're also the type, and I'm also that type, too. Luckily, we have Robert. And I trust you and I trust myself as well. If he makes plans, I' ma trust them. But if I have homeboys that make plans, I'm like, you know what? Let me make the plans. Because you're going to my up. And like, you're what you. What you're going to make me experience, I'm not going to like. So I'm also picky in that way, you know? But like, that's why the group that I travel with most of the time, that's why they're my group. Synced is we're all synced and I trust them. That's what makes a good group. What makes not a good group is you don't trust his planning. You don't trust her cooking. You don't trust her planning how they behave, how they behave when this and that, you know? So, like, that's what makes a good group. Not just because we're so. We're such good friends, but it's because we all love how we all act on vacation. And we've also. Most of us have known each other since we were kids.
Saul
Have you. Have you been on vacation with somebody that just it up.
Robert
Just very. Not like up the vacation, but caused very stressful moments like to the. Recently, I'm not even gonna say who, but we had this giant sprinter for everyone to like, get us to the. Anywhere to get us everywhere. And this one person decided that it'd be a good idea to take that sprinter four hours before our flight to go drop off some girl at her house.
Saul
Oh, my God.
Robert
This was, like 2:00am, 3:00am and she lived, like, an hour and a half away. And we missed. We didn't miss the flight, but we. Yeah. Half of the group just decided to Uber, and, like, I had to wait for them.
Josh
Yeah.
Robert
To get back.
Saul
But you. You were in charge of the Sprinter.
Robert
Yeah, I was in charge of the Sprinter, and I was like. I was asleep because I was being responsible.
Saul
You can't do that. You can't do that. If you are going to figure out a situation on your own, like, something that you're dealing with on your own, you got to handle that situation completely on your own. Get an Uber for her. Figure that out. You can't fucking take the band that everyone's utilizing.
Robert
So we were. That morning, it was like, I Woke up at 4am Ready to go. I was, like, all energized. I'm like, everybody's in the living room looking at me because they knew I was about to, like, flip out. And I was like, where is this person? He's like, he took the girl.
Saul
I was like, did he drive it?
Robert
He drove it.
Saul
Oh, my God.
Robert
And I was like, how? And I checked the location. He was still going. And we had to leave in, like, 30, 40 minutes.
Saul
And I'm like, goodness, bro, man.
Josh
Bro.
Saul
How do you. I don't look that up.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
Like, how do you.
Jessica
What?
Robert
What?
Josh
One thing, too. And. And that's why. That's why I said earlier. I was like, oh. Traveling with my parents is another thing. It's not that they're bad at traveling. It's just, you know me when I'm at the airport. I got my checked in years before.
Saul
Yeah. You know where everything's.
Josh
I know where everything's at. I know who to talk to. You don't got to do this. You don't got to do that. Which I. I know my confirmation number. I know my confirmation number by heart.
Jessica
Car.
Josh
I know my TSA number. I'm. I'm trying to get to A and B the fastest possible way, and I do. And I know the airport like the back of my hand, right? And when I'm with my parents, it's like. And I'm like, time is going slow as dick right now. And I'm just like, okay, okay. I was like, all right, man, let's go. Because I don't want to be in the hole. Everybody in line. And, like, it just like, stresses me out. I was trying to get to point A and point B quick, right? And my mom's like. Or my dad's like, all right, where. Where do we go? I'm like, well, do you have to
Saul
check in a bag?
Josh
How many bags? How much bags you got? Yeah, two.
Saul
Wait.
Josh
Okay, well, okay, well, what's your confirmation number? I don't know. Your mom has it. What's the confirmation number? And she's talking to my T, and they're like, Okay. And I'm just like, mom, confirmation number, son. Where's it at? And boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Get it? Okay, so four. Okay, so you can check in two, right? Yeah, yeah, well, she can check in two.
Jessica
Two.
Josh
I was like, okay, 35. Because they get, like. So, like, the. The. My mom books on, like, Expedia or something, and my mom. I gotta book your man next time because the bags will already be included. This and that. And she goes, okay. She goes, okay. And she goes, I was like, me, mom, I got one bag. I'm like, yes, mom, yes. You should have told me this earlier. You know, I would have had that already on the plane. Things like that.
Saul
That's so.
Josh
You know what I mean?
Saul
Do you ever wonder, like, how they move around with that?
Josh
How they moved around when we were little kids?
Saul
Yeah, bro, I think about that with
Josh
my mom, and I wasn't even stressing about it, but, like, that's just me growing up now. And, like, it's not that they're doing anything wrong.
Saul
Somewhat turn off their brains on purpose when they're with us.
Josh
When they're with me.
Saul
Yeah, my mom does, bro.
Josh
It's because you showed her that you can do it on your own and with everybody.
Saul
Yeah, that's true. It's like, how do you do this on your own, Mom?
Josh
I don't know. They get there, they get there, they're there. And then I go to the front, and she. And. And I'm like, all right, mom, what seat are you? So I know where seat you're at,
Saul
Bro.
Josh
Mom, pay the extra 20 bucks, please. Ma, please. It's a raffle.
Saul
It's a. Yeah, they just, like.
Josh
It's a coin flip. When she gets there, I'm like, okay, so you book six flights with all my siblings and my dad, and y' all don't know where y' all sitting? No, check in. Holy. I'm like, I cannot do that, bro. I cannot do that.
Saul
That drive me nuts.
Robert
And.
Josh
And I love my mom. And, hey, they get there, they get there. It doesn't matter. But, bro, I like to fly a certain way, bro. Like, whether I be in the front, the back, in the middle. I need to know prior weeks prior, where the I' ma sit.
Saul
Yeah, yeah, for sure. And then when I get to the airport, I'm trying to go through security as fast as possible.
Josh
Yes.
Saul
I'm trying to be through that gate.
Josh
That's it.
Saul
And then I can relax because I do have high stress when I'm at the airport. Even though I know I have everything dialed, bro. I have everything dialed that.
Josh
Me too. But dial.
Saul
I still get a little like, okay, I gotta just.
Josh
I just want to get through, check in. And they finally. Okay, so, so, so you're 17A, you're 19A, I'm like, Paulina, where's that? A B, I was like, we're in the middle. I was like, haha, that's what you get. And then my other sister is like 17 says, okay. You guys are kind of like, okay, okay. This okay. All of them are overweight. Okay.
Saul
Damn.
Josh
All of the maletas right there in the front opening up, figuring out like Tetris, ding ding deed eating, trying to see where the fits. And I'm like, mom, you have three seconds before I leave you fools. I'mma leave y' all fools.
Saul
And I just at the airport forever.
Josh
Like, bro, I'm mad. I'm mad right now. So like, it's like I said, they're not doing anything wrong. It's just.
Saul
They figure it out, bro. They figure it out.
Josh
And, and you know what's crazy is my mom's the one that moves. My dad is just there. You would think my dad would be the, the. You know how like those memes online, like the tick tocks. And the dad's always like. And then they played a prank on one of those, like, oh my God, I forgot my passport. And the dad goes, what are you talking about? You know, like, yeah, the dad is always in command. No, that's my mom. My mom is like a samuel. My dad's just there. He's just, he's just there a body. He's just a body. He's just another. He's another son, you know?
Saul
That's so funny, bro.
Josh
So. No, but you know what?
Saul
Traveling with your parents is an experience as you get older, it's an experience
Josh
when it's all of them, it's an experience. Like when we took my mom to Chicago, that was beautiful. She'd have to worry about anything. Yeah, she's just my plus one.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
You know, when I was younger, it was even the worst, bro. It's like, oh, I'm a fly. You know, I. I don't have the financial things to. To. To fly the way that I want, you know? But flying to Mexico and my mom. If your family knows that you're flying to Mexico by yourself and you're only taking a carry on bag, you better be careful what you tell your parents or your Diaz what you're taking. Because if you say just a carry on or one bag. Okay, mijo, Just one. Do you mind if you take another bag for me? Do you mind if you take a queso fresco for me?
Saul
Or bring.
Jessica
No.
Josh
On the way back to the United States, you leave with one. With one carry on, bro. You're back with queso fresco paletas. So, bro, have you like, bro, when I used to fly like vattis back in the day, and like, on the way back home, my plane smell like panela, bro. Ital. I'm just like, bro, smuggling, bro. Us Mexicans are something else, bro. And, like, I'm. I'm surprised I didn't bring a basket filled with chickens, bro. Like a crate.
Jessica
Loki. I do be asking for cheese on the way.
Josh
That's what I'm saying. My mom, my dad. Hey, mijo, what time do you leave tomorrow? And I'm ready. I don't know, like, in the morning.
Saul
Why?
Josh
I already know what she's gonna tell me. Oh, my God. Okay, mom, sounds good. But whatever it is, what it is, it's nice, bro. Yeah, but it's cool because, like, you have shown your parents that you're like, you can figure out, yeah, I got you. And I have, too. And that makes me feel good. It's like. It's like when we go to Japan, I'm already bracing myself for my little adventure. But, like, at the end of the day, when I'm there or even when I come back, I'm like, damn, you did that for your family. Exactly. That's a round of applause for myself. You know what I mean?
Saul
So it's like.
Josh
It's cool. Whatever. Metal.
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
I'm the chosen one, bro. The average son. Not so average anymore, right, mom? And she saw me on Telemundo, all happy. All my accomplishments I've ever done in my life. Doesn't matter.
Saul
Washed.
Josh
I was on Telemundo, bro. She's boasting about it.
Saul
Can't stop talking about.
Josh
Can't I. Talking about Mom. Cut it out.
Saul
All right, Anyways, I think that wraps up the episode, bro.
Josh
Is that it?
Saul
Yeah.
Josh
Okay. Any more cool questions?
Saul
I think we did it.
Josh
I like it.
Saul
Vacation episode. We can. We can touch on this, like, on another Episode. But if you guys are going on vacation, Safe travels. Send me your itinerary. Just want to check it out.
Josh
What's going on?
Saul
I want to kind of see if
Josh
you're watching this right now. We're obviously out and about. Please DM us, like, personally and say,
Saul
I just finished watching the episode.
Josh
Yeah, actually don't, because that's going to scare me if I'm going. Forget this. Like, are you faded? And I'm like, what the fuck?
Saul
What did I post?
Robert
Why?
Josh
What did I do? So don't do that.
Jessica
Maybe in the comments on this video.
Saul
Yeah.
Jessica
And then we could like. Yeah, I'll send them to you guys.
Josh
Yeah.
Saul
You know what we should do, bro? And we should do our best to do this. We should collect as much footage as we can. Photos, all this stuff. And when we do, like, the recap episode of our vacation, we should include, like, a bunch of these, like, images and stuff like that. We used to do that when we went on the live shows. Like, you would do, like, a little screen thing of, like, things we did in the city before we did the show. Yeah, I thought that was cool.
Josh
Oh, so you're saying take pictures when we're there and send them to Saul so you can put them on.
Saul
Yeah, when we're doing, like, the recap.
Josh
Okay, so this video lands on what day again?
Jessica
I think.
Saul
No, no, for the recap, bro. When we're back.
Josh
Oh, okay. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jessica
Because you don't have the pictures.
Josh
Yeah, I thought we were gonna be there and then already. And then this video would be up like three days later.
Saul
We could send them a photo of us currently where we're at.
Josh
Because is this video coming live the 27th or the 20th? The one because we just filmed another one yesterday.
Jessica
Yeah, no, this one comes out on the 27th. Yes.
Josh
Yeah. So where are you gonna be two days in, brother? One day.
Robert
Okay.
Saul
It's too soon.
Robert
And the second day is always the most lit.
Josh
I don't know. Hey, remind me and I'll. Maybe I'll send you some pictures.
Saul
Okay, we'll try.
Josh
We tend to send a lot of naked pictures on vacation. Not like just nalgas, you know? Oh, you know, you have a good group of guy friends when we all have pictures of our own asses bare naked. Yeah, That's a good group.
Saul
That's a testament right there.
Josh
Yeah. You know, when we're comfortable with our sexuality.
Jessica
Yeah, period. We did also, FYI, for all the listeners, refresh the platicanos.
Josh
Oh, yes, I saw that.
Jessica
So the link is down below. Please send us your submissions and I think we're going to do things differently and give you guys a couple call in the near future. So make sure you fill it out with your number.
Josh
Yeah, your number. What's up? Make sure you got minutes and data. We're going to call you. I was going to say yes. Please let us know if you actually agree with us on our travel tips and, and, and, and the things that we've discussed about today and let us know maybe. Oh, you know what, even on the submission forms we can even do like a, like a travel horror story. Yes, I like that. You know, and read your guys things, but I don't know. Comment down below if things like this has happened. Some examples something that happened to you guys or, or, or, or a nightmare on vacation or something that you need. On vacation. Who, who, who are you on vacation? Are you the Jessica? Are you the Sa. The Josh, the Sevas? You let us know and. Yeah, no, because we're lit right now and I hope that I can post a story about you guys watching the
Saul
show right now, but reminding them that the episode's out.
Josh
Yeah. So no.
Saul
Yeah. Love you guys. See you next time.
Josh
See ya.

Hosts: Sebastian “Sebas” Robles & Josh Leyva
Guests: Jessica, Robert, and recurring input from the LA Platica crew

Throughout, the hosts and guests keep the conversation real, witty, and a little irreverent—riffing in Spanglish, joking about “fuchi face,” recounting relatable family moments, and celebrating their own quirks and those of their friends/family. There’s a distinct undercurrent of generosity, loyalty, and group-oriented thinking, but with a zero-tolerance policy toward “bad vibes” and non-contributors.
The episode closes with plans to recap their group vacation visually, excitement about new adventures, and an invitation for the audience to share their own travel horror stories or triumphs. At its heart, this plática is about more than travel—it's about relationships, gratitude, growth, and how we show up for those we care about.
"Enjoying the journey is a success." (Josh, 35:41)
