Johnny
And I am fresh off of recording our friend Lavetti Vegas's brand new TV show. Oh yes, Lovetti's back with a brand new TV show. It's not comedy if those of you who listen to Laugh with Me on the regular. You guys know that our friend Lavetti famously quit comedy again. He does that about once a year. Yeah, that's, that's just kind of something he does. It's like a reset, you know, if I had to guess his intentions, he's never said, yeah, once a year I do this. He's never said, once a year I quit comedy just so I can take a break and kind of reset everything. I mean, although it is, it is pretty much what he does. And in this break he has created a brand new show. The first episode is about to be released and I was lucky enough to, to have been a guest on it. It's a sports, it's like a sub, like a sport like debate show, almost like it's opinion based and there's a bunch is a rolling list of topics and we kind of, we go back and forth on it and it was, it was a lot of fun recording and it was a lot of fun working with Lavetti as always. And then his friend Ash, who's she, she's like, not necessarily the, the moderator, but kind of like, kind of like host. Like she reads off the topics and kind of keeps us, I guess on, on task, on topic there. And I just want to say it was a lot of fun recording the show. And I, I told him, I was like, dude, you need me back, you want me back? I am in. Like it was a lot of fun. We learned a lot too about what this show's gonna be down the line, kind of how, you know, some improvements to be made. I mean, it's a pilot. Anytime you record a pilot of any type, there's going to be things you learn and things you want to change, you know, moving forward. I mean, that's just the way it is. Well, some of the stuff we talked about and you hopefully you all go to the show. It's called no fumbles, okay? No fumbles with Lavetti Vegas. And hopefully you guys all go and watch the show. It's a, it's a 30 minute show and you'll be able to find this on YouTube and you can find it on his, on, on the Facebook page for no fumbles. And some of the Things we talked about, you know, like, you know, we teared quarterbacks. We, we figured out, you know, what, what were the kind of the best teams in the NFL were, or the Seahawks going to repeat? Are the Knicks going to repeat in the NBA? Like, things like that. Okay, Those were some of the Huskers. We predicted the Husker schedule. Okay. How many wins are we looking at here? So we did, like, some of those types of topics. But what I'm here to talk about today in regards to the show,
Kalpen (Kal Penn)
and
Johnny
this is, this is something he does, okay? He pulls out some pranks. Okay. He opened the show with showing the clip of me skateboarding when I went up the ramp and fell on my back and I broke my back. That's how he opened the show with a clip of me falling straight on my back. And as we all know that I'm still recovering from that. That was in, like, mid June. I'm still recovering from it. Here we are in August. And so that was funny, but what I had in my back pocket was the clip of him thinking he was gonna, you know, out shoot anybody in one on one or even in a shooting contest in basketball. He, and he just, he couldn't even hit the rim. I mean, it's airball after airball in this. And he lost to, famously lost to Gary Curtis. And, you know, he put out this challenge. Yeah, I'll take on anybody. I, I, I put my hand up. I wanted a shot at this, but Gary beat me to it. And, you know, his challenge was over after the first attempt because, of course, he's, he's not a baller. So we show this, and I, I had written some jokes in regards to, you know, his prowess in basketball and this challenge that he had with Gary. And I did get to use a couple of them. Okay. I used a couple of those lines before we really got warmed up into the show. Let's see. I, I, what I would like to do is go through some. I'm gonna tell you the jokes I did use. You're gonna hear them on the show, but then I'd also like to tell you some of the jokes that didn't make the cut that I was going to use, but I didn't. Okay. So that way you kind of have an idea of what I was working with here. Okay? So, so before I even get into that, I just want to say, make sure you check out no fumbles with Lavetti Vegas, okay? It's his brand new show. He's gonna be coming out weekly. But here Are some of the jokes I used just, you know, just to get back at him for airing that skateboarding fall. Okay, so, Levy, the scouting report on you is one sentence. Let him cook because he can't. Okay, I did use that line. I thought that was funny, that the scouting report is the. To let him cook because he can't. That's, that's good, right, Johnny? Yeah. Thanks, buddy. Feel free to encourage me a little bit. Lavetti has unlimited range in that he can miss from literally anywhere. Now, I think I used that one. I'm pretty sure I used that joke. I don't, I, I, It's a little blurry. I don't quite remember if I did, but I'm pretty sure I did because I know I used the scouting report joke. I'm pretty sure I used the unlimited range. Now, the rest of these I know I didn't use because I, I only, I just a couple of seconds to put in, you know, a couple of lines. So the rest of these I know for a fact I didn't use, but maybe I should have. Okay, we'll. We'll see. So, all right. Imagine Lavetti shooting a three pointer, and it's just awful. Like, it's just an airball. And I say, I've seen Make a Wish kids score more points than you. I mean, that's good, right? But then you might think, oh, you're being demeaning to the Make a Wish kids. And. No, I'm just saying, like, no matter what they're going through, I mean, he's still more athletic than Betty. So that was one of them. Another one, let's see. He doesn't have a jump shot. He's got a cry for help. I thought that was a good one. His, his shooting. Levetti's shooting percentage is basically a credit score. I thought that one that was good, but it might go over some people's heads, and who knows?
ChatGPT Announcer
Maybe.
Johnny
But he's got a great credit score. So then, you know, then it wouldn't be nearly as funny. I, I don't know. He, Betty shoots like the rim, owes him money, and moved without leaving a forwarding address. So some of them are really going to make you think, you know, he's playing Gary, but Gary leaves him so aggressively open, it feels legally binding. I thought that was, I thought that one was okay. Again, some of these just, they kind of make you think when the Vetti gets the ball, nobody yells, shoot. That's because they want to yell.
T-Mobile Customer
You sure?
Johnny
I, I don't, I don't I didn't like that one. That's why I didn't use it. I don't know. That's. No, that wasn't good. Johnny, you got to encourage me on the good ones, buddy. Well, Vetti's crossover has never crossed anybody. It's basically a lane change with the blinker on. Now that one I thought was good because that's kind of like an old joke, too, like an old person joke. So I thought that one maybe had some potential. Lavetti, when he tries to break someone's ankles, he somehow sprains his own. And I thought that one, that one certainly had potential. The Vetti's highlight reel is just security footage. Now, that one's deep. That one I felt had some legs, but we'll see. Lavetti plays basketball like somebody explained the rules to him during a house fire. Now, I. It's like one of those things where you're just, you know, you don't quite get it, but then you think about it like, oh, okay, I get it. Now, Levetti's pump fake only works because defenders genuinely believe there's no way he's stupid enough to shoot it. Now, that's good. But. But it's a one on one game, so of course he's gonna shoot it. Like some of these, I'm like, all right, that's funny, but it may not fit the situation.
Bank of America Announcer
Okay.
Johnny
Lavetti's basketball IQ is room temperature, and they're playing outside. That one could have been really good, but they played inside. You know, when reviewing the film, they played indoors. So that one didn't. Originally, when he put the challenge out there, it looked like they were going to play outside. So that joke, that. That one could have been good, but yeah. Anyways, Levitti wears a shooting sleeve, like putting a spoiler on a 90s 1997 Dodge Neon. That one's. That one's got potential. Levetti's signature move is catching the ball and immediately making it somebody else's problem. Now, if it wasn't a one on one game, that one would have been gold. Like, I, a hundred percent could have done something with that one. But it's. It was one on one. The Vetti is the only player whose defender gets called for social distancing. That one's good because it's topical and Levetti's just not good. Like, you don't even have to guard him. That's the, that's, that's the deal. That's the deal. He's just, he's not very Good. All right, let me see. Did I have any more? No, I, I, this one's, this was my last one. It's a. Levetti is proof that technically anybody can buy basketball shoes. Now. I, I didn't care for that one. That's not, that wasn't my favorite joke of the bunch, but yeah. What are you gonna do? We'll be right back with more Laugh with me, the podcast with J O.

Hey everyone, it's Kal Penn, the host of Earsay, the Audible and iHeart Audiobook Club. This week I'm sitting down with author Matt Dinnaman and narrat to talk about dungeon crawler Carl. Matt had one line in a notebook from middle school alien game show. It took him until 2019 to finally write it, but what came out was an out of this world audiobook phenomenon. We talked about that origin. A talking cat with a charisma stat that breaks the game and what it takes to voice an entire world.

a box of old Nintendo games in Waukesha turned out to be a treasure for video game collectors. The owner of One Stop Wonders found he had nearly copies of a rare version of Super Mario Bros. And Duck Hunt inside a box sitting in storage. The shop owner says the person who sold it told him Nintendo sold the cartridges to a metal recovery service to be melted down for gold, but they never were.
T-Mobile Customer
These were printed about two years after the last known printing of these games. So no one really understands fully why Nintendo made a box of 100 of these. Back sticker on the cartridge is different, the screws are different, the manual is different, even the motherboard for the game is different. So this is one of the most documented games in the history of video game preservation and nobody has ever seen these specific carts before until now.
Matt Dinnaman
Well, some cartridges are in perfect condition and earn the world's first PSA 10 grade for a Nintendo Entertainment System game system. Three carts hit the auction block this month and they could fetch millions.
Johnny
Can you imagine you just come across a box and you open the box and it contained 97 copies of the original Super Mario Brothers slash Duck Hunt game for the original Nintendo. And then to find out it was an entire run of games that came after the original run of games. So that they're not even sure where, like where these games came from, why they were, why they were built in the first place. But the facts are they were built. Their guesses that these were built as replacement stock for, you know, games that were, you know, faulted for, you know, and still had warranty on them or whatnot, or for refurbished systems. They throw this edition of the game in or something, but nobody knows for certain. But now there's 97 of these 10 scored PSA games, which is pretty impressive in 2026 to have a fine like something like this. And I, I always, you know, even with like sports car, you know, baseball cards and whatnot, and people are digging through old boxes and whatnot and they come across, you know, a rare find. And this, this is certainly a rare find. Like, where are people just keeping stuff and, and where are the people going that know they have this stuff? Like, you would think somebody knew that they had this box of Super Mario Brothers games. I mean, somebody has to know about this stuff, right? Like when you suddenly come across like a Babe Ruth, you know, autograph baseball or something, like somebody knew that they had, that they were just sitting on this thing and then it had to be worth something someday. How is it that they just go unfound for 30, 40, you know, plus years? I, I've. It always blows my mind. I, I think about, like, the stuff I have and yeah, I've got a box of baseball cards, football cards, basketball, you know, that, that kind of stuff. I've got it. But I'll tell you what, I'm. Even after all these years and I haven't looked through them and well over 20, I can tell you for the most part what I've gotten. If I've got anything of like, significant value, I mean, I would have been pretty dialed in back then to knowing what I had. I would have never forgotten. Oh, I, you know, if right now the Tony Gwynn rookie card, tops. Rookie card from 1982. If, if that card suddenly became ultra valuable, I mean, I can tell you right now, hey, I've got that card. Now I gotta go find it, but I've got that card. Where are the people, where are the people that, that do own these things? What, where do their. What does their mind go that they forget that they have these things? I always find it just. I don't know. I find it, I find it funny, but I also find it, like, hard to believe that all these things are just out there and the person who knew about it just completely forgot or, I mean, I don't know what's, what's in our food or what was in our food that we just forget these things. And I am blaming the food. I'm not blaming the drugs or the medicines or the things the world, smartphones. I'm not blaming those things. I'm blaming the food. There's something we're eating that is causing us to forget about things, important things that we have. And I'm gonna get to the bottom of it. In fact, Johnny, write that down. Write down that we're gonna get to the bottom of what exactly is in the food that's causing us to forget. To forget things. Let's get our best guy on it because this is, this is something that I think once we've uncovered it could become one of the most important finds of our generation. Just, just imagine all the things
Bank of America Announcer
that
Johnny
have been forgotten and are just in boxes somewhere that will suddenly remember once we stop eating that, that whatever it is. We gotta find out what that is, though. I think there's something to it, Johnny. I think there's something to it. We're more on this, by the way. We're gonna get to it and we're gonna get our best guy on it. Okay? Write that down. I hope we can. I hope we don't forget that we. No, we started this project. Thanks. Thanks for listening.
