So I made a decision to essentially retire the YouTube rally at Equip Expo. You know, there's a, there's a, there's a few reasons why and first and foremost, I feel like we're ending it off on the highest note it could possibly be on because last year was the 10th year that I was at Equip and that essentially the YouTube rally kind of like took its legs. And the last time, the first time and last time that I met Greg at a. Greg Geek to freak Greg Chisholm at Equip Expo, when it was called Gie plus Expo at the time. And so he came back last year after 10 years.
Event Announcer
Right.
Paul Jameson
So it had been 10 years since the last time he was at Equip and then I met him for the first time and saw him at Equip and all that. So.
Sponsor Representative
So it was a good 10 year full circle.
Paul Jameson
I mean, 10 years is a good number. And it was a great turnout and everybody just, I think because there was a couple of years there where it was getting a little, it was getting a little disrupted. You know, there's a lot going on, changing different venues and trying to follow along with Equip Expo and their concert series, not have people having to choose where to go and just trying to be as. Create as much value to our community as possible. But there was a lot of behind the scenes, you know, strategy and logistics going on with that. And you know, people would get lost in the shuffle, they'd go to the old venues and there's just a lot of moving parts. So I feel like we were able to build it back up and had a really strong showing last year, like I said. And Greg came back, which was amazing. So I think it was a really high note to end off and a decade strong of the YouTube rally. That's one. Number two, the YouTube rally. And I said this on the Facebook group, which I encourage all of you listening and watching. If you haven't joined the road to Equip Facebook group, definitely do that because that's where we have streamlined all of our communication from a content creation like the online community to anyone that is just all about Equip Expo from all over the world. Literally, you know, all of our communication is through there, especially right before and during. It's just, it's a hot spot. It's a hub of communication. Where's, who's going to be where, what I'm doing this. Hey, you know, all kinds of like, you know, someone, the hotel got overbooked. Oh, you can come stay at our Airbnb. We got an extra room. Like, it's just community to, to, to the max. Everything in Quip Expo, there's like over three, way over 3,000. I think it's like three and a half thousand people in that group now. And that started 10 years ago. Go figure. So just, just, just a lot of, a lot of benefits to being in that group. But I posted in that group this. What I'm saying now is that the YouTube rally was created at a time when there was nothing else for us as a community to come together and connect.
Nail Artelia Ferro
Right?
Paul Jameson
There was no community and connection at the, at the Equip Expo at, when it was called JE plus Expo. We had just stumbled upon this amazing shows. It had a totally different look and the industry was changing. We were changing. Younger people were getting into the industry. The younger generations were bringing their dads, you know, with them. Not, not the dads bringing them. Them bringing their dads because they couldn't get there themselves to, to Equip just to meet us and to get all the information that we talk about and at Equip to help them grow their business as well as hang out. So we didn't really have anywhere to hang out. Like Equip Expo didn't even do anything other than the third, the Wednesday and Thursday night concerts on fourth Street Live. That's all they did. There was no welcome reception, there was no nothing. There was no morning things. It was just those two concerts which were amazing. So as a community by default, we created something for us to come come to and gather on Thursday night, which became coined the YouTube rally. So that was created when there, when it needed to be created. Well, 10 years later, there's not so much of a need anymore for the YouTube rally. Thursday is becoming the day where everyone is completely exhausted and it's getting harder and harder to make it out on Thursday night. There's so many things going on and so many networking. And leading up to Thursday is where the new community connections are. You know, you've got Tuesday night, you've got Merle Risky's Kitchen with Mitchell Gordy. He's had his event for a while now. And then you've got Cornell Mack with the Win in Life Mack Landscaping Win in Life Meetup, which is on Wednesday night at a bowling alley. And that has been growing fast. And I am calling that the new YouTube rally because it really has a lot of the same vibe as what the original YouTube. I remember we used to play cornhole back in the day when we had more space. You know, like, it was a community fun time. And that's the kind of connection that I think Cornell is really harnessing at the Win in Life meetup on Wednesday night. So there's really not a need anymore for the YouTube rally on Thursday night. So I really just had to take a strong look at the week and how much effort was being put into maintaining something that necessarily didn't need to be maintained anymore. Like, it had its place, it had its run. Just like star athletes. Nothing lasts forever. And I made a decision that it was time to pass the torch. Of course, I talked to Greg and many others, of course you, Paul, and got lots of feedback about it, and everybody was very supportive. They understood how much is involved in facilitating the YouTube rally, as well as the decision to retire it. I didn't take that lightly. It's a big decision. In some ways, I feel like I'm letting the community down, but I know that there's so much that we still have offering at the community, and it's only going to continue to grow. You know, Cornell's meetup just keeps growing, and the week is just getting fuller and fuller. So now we can just rest and relax on Thursday night.
Paul's Friend
Amen. Amen. You made the right decision, and I applaud you for that. I think it's perfect that you're retiring it now, and the week at Louisville is starting earlier and earlier. When you started the event, Thursday night was like prime time. Like, that was the main night when everyone was there and all, you know, ready to go out and have fun. But now, like, most of us get into town on Sunday night, you know, to go to your LCR Summit Monday and Tuesday, and the rest of the crew, they come rolling in on Tuesday afternoon and hopefully catch Merle's for. For Mitchell Gordy's event, go to the Kentucky Derby for the kickoff at Churchill Downs. And now, you know, Wednesday night is kind of like now the new night when everyone's all primed and amped up and. And full of energy and. And. And I really feel like Wednesday night is now the main prime time night, and Cornell's event, although I've never been to, has all the momentum in the world, whereas the rally would because of all the venue changes, and we don't need to discuss all why all the reasons, but the momentum was almost, like, going down a little bit. It popped back for the last year, but, like, Cornell's events got that trajectory. So, anyway, I'm very happy that now on Thursday night, I don't have to be stressed out because you and Paycheck are stressed out, and. And everyone, you know, just. We can just relax on Thursday night and not have to host right after you've already hosted on Sunday night. Monday, all day. Tuesday, all day. Wednesday, all day. Like, right. Like, as your friend, I'm like, normally, I'm the one doing too much. And you and Pay Jack are like, go. Go recharge your battery.
Paul Jameson
Pause.
Paul's Friend
You know, But I'm, like, watching you, and I'm like, you're doing too much, man. Dial it back. So I'm glad you did.
Paul Jameson
Yeah, well, I. I still. Well, I appreciate that, but I still want to point out the fact that, like, I told Paycheck last year, I'm living my best life like that. That's my Super Bowl. Like, I. I just love that week. So I'm fired up and energized. I mean, don't get me wrong, by Friday morning, I'm definitely a little tired, right? Because it's. It's been a week, you know, so. But I mean, I'm. I'm.
Nail Artelia Ferro
I'm.
Paul Jameson
I'm at my highest level, serving the community all week long. So what's up, Cornell? But I.
Nail Artelia Ferro
So. So it's really, like, it.
Paul Jameson
It really wasn't about me. Like, I. I have the. The boundaries. I have the.
Nail Artelia Ferro
The.
Paul Jameson
The setup, the systems in place. I mean, a lot of the things that I do that week are rinse and repeat, right? Like, I don't do all these things by myself anymore. Like, I had to create these ideas or. Or continue the ideas. Like, I didn't even create the YouTube rally. Let's not forget that was a Greg Chisum, Sean Spencer, and some other folks that aren't really in the community that much anymore. They were the main people that created the rally, the original rally. And not that many people showed up that year to equip Expo. It wasn't until the next year that so many of us showed up, including myself, and met everybody in person. So I didn't even start it. I just continued it because both of those guys, Greg and Sean, took a break from YouTube and did different things, and I didn't want to see the rally disappear. Because it was such a important part for me. It was so impactful for me that I wanted to continue. I wanted to continue it. So that's why I kind of carry the torch for the last 10 years. And I loved it. Like, yes, of course it has its ups and downs, and of course it was work, but it was worth it. It was work that was worth it. And I was very passionate about it. And the conversations and connections that I had with the community was amazing. And it will continue to be amazing at Cornell's event on Wednesday and Mitchell's event on Tuesday and throughout the whole rest of the week. And we have Pod Row all throughout Equip Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We have the morning show Thursday morning. I did all those things and I will continue to do those things. But guess what? I'll just be even sharper for those things. And I already was. So I don't want you guys to think that I stopped doing it because I was exhausted and it was too much. I just, I thought it was too much for the week, not for me. And I could just see the shift and. And it just, it just made more sense to dedicate more time and energy promoting Cornell's event, Win in Life event to keep the community growing in the right direction. That's what I did with the YouTube rally in the first place. Like I said, I didn't create it, I just directed it. I. I steered it in the right direction. And now I feel like it was time to end that journey, to steer the community in the right direction, in the continued right direction with the rest of the meetups. Now, that didn't even exist back then. So now we can really enjoy. And like you said, Paul, Wednesday is the new main day because. And we have more energy because people come in on Wednesday now and they are full of energy. So they're just ready to go on Wednesday night. Because you don't even have like an all a full day at Equip. It's not even open until 12, like to the public, you know, like, so you only have a half of a day even if you spend all that time at Equipped. So versus Thursday. Everyone spends the whole day inside and outside fighting through all the foot traffic. And that's the busiest day is Thursday. Then you're exhausted by Thursday night.
Nail Artelia Ferro
So.
Paul Jameson
And the earlier you get in, the
Event Announcer
more more that is.
Paul Jameson
So Wednesday definitely is the new Thursday.

The Lawn and Landscape Technology Conference is going to be this July 22nd through the 24th in Scottsdale, Arizona. I for one, have never been to Arizona.
Sponsor Representative
At all.
Event Announcer
And I've heard a lot about Scottsdale, Arizona specifically. So I'm really excited to go ch out another part of the country. One of the reasons why I enjoy traveling for different industry and community events, whether they're ones that I host or trade shows that I'm a part of or speak at. Like, I was at Vegas recently for the Con Expo, had a great time networking there and checking out that show as well as that part of the country. You know, there's different parts of Vegas, you know, for better or for worse. And you know where, where Con Expo was, was, was a different perspective. And it was, it was pretty nice. So I'm, I'm excited to check out Scott, Arizona. Last year I was at the Lawn Landscape Conference Technology conference and it was amazing. It was, it was focused on the technology in your business. Of course there's the, the automations like robotic mowers and battery operated equipment, but they also have a lot of training as well to help you grow your business through those automations and technology. But also just being on the forefront of the ideas and the future of the industry and what are some things that you could potentially adopt into your own business, regardless of what size it
Paul Jameson
is and how you feel about the
Event Announcer
future and technology and automations, ultimately that's going to help you streamline your business and work less and make more. So I'm going to be there. John Pajak from the Profits with Pajak podcast is going to be there. Air trip with the Pond Digger from the Deep End podcast is going to be there. Yeah. Cornell Mac on the attack with Mac podcast going to be there. And then you have Mike and Larry with the side hots side Hustle Squad side Hustle Squad podcast. There you go. Also going to be there. And we're going to have a great time at Pod Row yet again at the Lawn Landscape Technology Conference. So if you're going to be there, definitely stop by, say, say what's up? Get on a podcast, share your story or just meet up with whoever we have on the podcast. Going to be interviewing all kinds of leaders. Like last year we interviewed Mark Bradley from Element and leanscaper and so many other high level entrepreneurs and business owners that stop by Pod Row. So you could even just, you know, stop by and listen, listen to their story first, perspective and then shake their hand and talk to them after the fact. As well as, you know, getting on a podcast and sharing your story. So a lot of bonuses, a lot of great things to come out to the Law and Landscape Technology conference. In Scottsdale, Arizona, July 22nd to 24th. Check out the link in the episode description if you want to register. Hope to see you there.

So this was a conversation, a snippet from a conversation that I had with Paul Jameson, the Green street podcast, as I do often dual record so that I can have put some clips on my podcast so you can be informed with key key information and value just valuable information overall such as giving you the Updates on the YouTube rally. So I shared that first on his podcast and I figured we can just dual task it and then I can instead of recording a fresh episode on my on, you know, on this podcast, on my podcast I could just use a snippet from from his but if you want to hear a whole conversation because we didn't just talk about the YouTube rally, we talked about the week of Equip in general as well as I started off the episode with some value too on how, you know, I'm able to navigate all of the, all
Paul Jameson
of the different events that I do.
Nail Artelia Ferro
You know, like how, how, how do I handle, how do I manage everything that's on my plate effectively and enjoy it. So hopefully you will check out the whole episode with Green she podcast. So you can just click the link in the episode description for the for either the full episode if it's out yet, or the podcast podcast in general. If you don't already follow him, I'm you know, of course I'm sure many of you already follow him follow the Grant Sheet podcast, but if not the link is in the episode description for you to quickly get over there and check out the rest of his episodes while you're waiting for this full one to come out. But I really want to get this information out as soon as possible now that it's official. But please support all the rest of the events throughout the week like I will be doing, especially Cornell Max Win in Life event on Wednesday night. You can go ahead and check him out on Instagram and YouTube and all the social media platforms.
Event Announcer
But really the best place to to
Nail Artelia Ferro
be connected and in the know to everything is like I mentioned in this episode clip is the road to equip Facebook group. So I'll also put that in the episode description in case you haven't joined that yet or know anything about what I'm talking about. You can just click the link and quickly go to that group and request to join and then we will see there and all the information that gets updated or all the as information gets updated it will be updated in the group as well so that we're all on the same page and we can hopefully have as much clarity as possible. So with that being said, I I I'm looking forward to seeing you at Equipment though. We have plenty of months left in the year before we get to October, so I hope you're all enjoying your summer and you're getting after it and you're planning a break right, for your breakthrough. Planning a break to relax a little bit, unwind, decompress if you have family, spending some time with family and then ultimately allowing your mind to kind of bubble some stuff up to the surface that maybe you're working on in the background or didn't really think about. It got suppressed cuz you were stuck working so hard all the time in
Paul Jameson
the heat now in the summer.
Nail Artelia Ferro
So you got to take a break to have your breakthrough. So hopefully you're having that, had that or are planning to have that soon. So thanks for listening and thanks to Toro Company for sponsoring the LCR Media podcast. Until the next episode, this is Nail Artelia Ferro signing off.
