When is it appropriate to refuse someone Communion? Has Bishop Frank ever fired a priest? What do we know about the Marian apparition "Our Lady of America"? What would you say to God, in 10 or fewer words, to explain why you should go to Heaven? How about the Connecticut teacher who was removed from the classroom for displaying a cross? These are just some of the excellent listener questions that Bishop Caggiano answers on Let Me Be Frank. Tune in and enjoy! If Bishop Frank were to write a book, he says it would be about rediscovering the charism for Christian friendship. Friendship also happens to be the key to reaching and evangelizing young adults. That is the consensus among Bishop Frank, Fr Sam Kachuba (Vicar for Young Adult Ministry), and Paola Pena (Director of Evangelization at St Pius X). The culture has been offering empty promises to young adults... instead of the authentic freedom, relationship, and fulfillment that young adults (& all of us) truly desire. This was really a fantastic conversation. Enjoy! By the way, you can still squeeze in and join us as we celebrate the seven years that Veritas been on the air... Pope Leo XIV just released his first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, on safeguarding the human person in the age of artificial intelligence — and Bishop Frank Caggiano walks through it in plain language. What is AI, really? Why does the Pope call this an “epochal moment”? And what’s the difference between building “Babel” and rebuilding Jerusalem’s wall? A clear, hopeful, sometimes funny guide to the document everyone’s talking about. Plus a listener question on overcoming the fear of failure. How do we know Jesus is truly the Messiah promised in the Old Testament? In this episode, Bishop Frank Caggiano sits down with renowned Catholic apologist and author Gary Michuta to explore some of the most compelling messianic prophecies found in Sacred Scripture and how they reveal Jesus Christ as the long-awaited Savior of the world. Drawing from his latest book, Messiah: Old Testament Prophecies Fulfilled in Christ, Gary takes listeners deep into the biblical, historical, and theological foundations of the Catholic faith, unpacking ancient prophecies that point directly to Christ. From Psalm 110 and Daniel 7 to the royal promises made throughout the Old Testament, this conversation reveals how the Scriptures form a unified story of salvation centered on Jesus. Together, Bishop Frank and Gary discuss how understanding these prophecies can transform the way Catholics read the Bible, strengthen personal faith, and equip believers to share and defend Christianity in an increasingly secular culture. They also explore the importance of biblical exegesis, the role of original languages, and how modern scholarship continues to uncover the richness of God’s plan throughout salvation history. In this episode, you’ll learn: • How Old Testament prophecies reveal Jesus as Messiah, King, and High Priest • Why Psalm 110 is one of the most important messianic texts in Scripture • The significance of Daniel’s vision of the “Son of Man” and its connection to Christ • How biblical prophecy strengthens Catholic apologetics and evangelization • Why studying Scripture can deepen prayer, discipleship, and family faith formation • The role of Mary as the New Eve in God’s plan of salvation • How Catholic and Protestant scholars are finding common ground in biblical studies • Practical ways to teach Scripture and apologetics to children and young adults • Why understanding the Messiah matters now more than ever Gary also shares insights from decades of apologetics work, explaining how Christians can confidently respond to questions about Jesus, the reliability of Scripture, and the fulfillment of prophecy. His approach combines scholarly rigor with practical application, making these profound truths accessible to believers at every stage of their faith journey. If you’ve ever wondered how the Old Testament points to Jesus, how to explain messianic prophecy to skeptics, or how Scripture can strengthen your relationship with Christ, this is an episode you won’t want to miss. Whether you’re a lifelong Catholic, a student of Scripture, a homeschooling parent, a catechist, or someone exploring Christianity for the first time, this conversation offers a deeper appreciation for the biblical foundations of the faith and the extraordinary ways God prepared the world for the coming of Christ. We pray in the Creed that the Holy Spirit, with the Father and the Son, is adored and glorified. I, for one, know so much less about the Holy Spirit... that I'm not sure I can say I adore and glorify Him the same way as the Father and the Son. So Bishop Frank gives us (me) some teaching and reflection on who the Holy Spirit is, and what He does in our lives, and the gifts He gives us and the fruits of living with Him. Enjoy! Matthew Hennessey has written a book on "intergenerational warfare". But his day job is as Editor of Free Expression, a daily newsletter from the Wall Street Journal. Matthew joins Bishop Frank to talk about journalism, economics, the difference among generations & the importance of Gen X, and how his wife saved his life and brought him back to the Faith. "It was the intrusion of love that made all the difference," Bishop Frank remarked. I think you'll really enjoy this conversation... also: join us on June 19th to celebrate and support Veritas! And, we’ve accumulated a number of questions asking about me, personally, which I find hilarious. But I took a few minutes to answer many of them today! On the heels of the Jubilee of Hope, we are now in the midst of a special Jubilee Year for St Francis (whose 800th feast day is on Oct 3, 2026). St Francis is one of the most beloved saints in the Church, revered even by countless non-Catholics. So what does he have to teach those of us living in this society today? Bishop Caggiano has five lessons for each of us to reflect on and implement in our lives. I've summarized them like this: Commit to a radical response See what's actually truly beautiful Widen your embrace Free yourself FROM the baggage of your past and of sin Free yourself TO suffer for Love Oh, and... who was the "lady" who Francis loved who catalyzed his conversion? There is a truly beautiful and amazing way that you can encounter Jesus and deepen your relationship with him. It's called Cursillo, and it starts with a weekend retreat and then offers you practical ways to put your faith in to action. Mike Bonomo & Eileen Masaryk are both local leaders in the retreats and the movement. They join Bishop Frank to talk about Cursillo, what it has meant to them on their journey with Jesus, and why you should also check it out. To find out about upcoming retreats, email mbonomo200@earthlink.net or eileenmasaryk@yahoo.com for more information.
Meet Maria. She's the newest fundraising officer in the Diocese of Bridgeport... and she is a work of autonomous artificial intelligence. Bishop Caggiano is at the tip of the spear, as we become the first diocese in the country to incorporate an AI fundraising officer. Why are we doing this? How will it help? Emily Groccia, of Givzey, and Deacon Pat Toole join Bishop Frank to discuss the plans and implementation, the benefits and drawbacks, of Maria. My input? "I'm perpetually worried about our future robot overlords." (Please don't tell my computer or my phone that I said that.)
