You guys know at the end of every month I love to do an ask me anything episode. Little Q and A. We got so many good questions this week. Everyone take a shot every time I say Aritzia. We're all going to be 10 sheets to the wind. My mom co signed them. I co signed them all to say I just think that they're a great brand. What are the best affordable work pants? I am so passionate about this question. I could tell you guys the ones to splurge on and invest in. I could also tell you guys the best bang for your buck. I have a foot injury and I'm having a hard time finding comfortable sandals. What are we wearing right now and into spring and summer? This is hands down the most popular question that I get at this time of the year. I hate saying this because I really don't like sneakers in a sundress and I also really don't like white sneakers. What are we wearing on a first date as the weather transitions? Okay, Morgan Stewart said it best. It needs to be like your favorite pair of jeans, but then also like a top that's like kind of form fitting and shows a little bit of skin but not too much. The going out top has kind of dyed a little bit. I've been wearing a sweater from them non stop that feels like it could be from the row and fits like it could be from the row but it was $140. Okay, I get this question a lot and I feel like it's time that we answer it definitively on the podcast. What are your favorite inexpensive basics? Welcome back to let's Get Dressed. Before we dive into today's episode, make sure that you're following the show both on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, so so that you don't miss a new episode. In case you want to watch today's episode, you can head over to YouTube. The full episode is available there too. And when you're done, leave us a review. I always love to hear what you guys think about the episodes and it really helps the show. Go now. Let's go get dressed. Hi everyone. Welcome back to another episode of let's Get Dressed. It's your host, Liv Perez. We are recording this visually for the first time, which is very exciting. So if you're watching on YouTube. Hi. Our first solo episode together. You guys know at the end of every month I love to do an ask me anything episode. Little Q and A. You guys can submit them on Instagram. I usually put a question box up on Sundays. Sometimes I do Sometimes I don't. Sometimes I honestly forget. But if you catch them, make sure you submit them there. If not, you can always DM me. I'm actually really good at answering my DMs. I feel like I will spend like an hour every week and really go through all of them. I even go into like the Hidden messages, which is an unbelievably scary place. Really don't recommend, but sometimes some of your questions end up getting filtered in there. So I always, like, make an effort to go in there and find them. So in case you missed the question box, you can always just shoot me a DM and I will include it. We've had a ton of great episodes on the podcast recently that I'm so excited about. We had Aaron Walsh on the podcast to talk about the Devil Wears Prada, which I feel like has been so insane and so much fun to watch. I can't wait to see the movie. We had Zac Posen, who, I kid you not, was my dream guest. He's been on the vision board of guests of all guests for a really long time. So having him on was obviously a dream come true and very exciting. If you missed that episode, you have to go listen to it. We talked all about his vision for Gap, what he's doing now. He did a really exciting collab with Old Navy and a guest who's actually been on this podcast before and was one of my first guests. So I recommend going and checking those out in case you guys miss them. We got so many good questions this week. Some really fun ones, like great wardrobe inspired moments, but also some really good just like fashion career questions. So I can't wait to dive into them. Let's start. Also, if you're watching on YouTube, I'm gonna be talking with my hands. I don't know what to do with my hands. Okay, first question. I am so passionate about this question. I love it and I feel like I get asked this all the time. First, what are the best affordable work pants? I feel like I have a really large spectrum of pants in my closet. I could tell you guys the ones to splurge on and invest in. I could also tell you guys the best bang for your buck. I have to tell you a pair of pants that I have worn literally around the world. Like, I wore them one day in Paris during Fashion Week. I wore them to a breakfast meeting, then I wore them to the Hermes show. I wore them on a 12 hour plane home and then I wore them to a birthday party in L. A that same Night. That day was one of my top performing days of all time. I actually don't think I'll ever be as, like, high strung as I was that day. Definitely my most efficient day. But they are the Aritzia effortless pants. I feel like I talk about those pants every other episode. If you're a longtime listener, you know that I'm obsessed with them. They're $148, and I feel like they are such great bang for your buck. I have them in a few different colors. I have them in, like, the classic black, which is the ones that took me from Paris to la, literally. But then I also get them, like, in the different fabrics that they come in in the summer. They come in, like, a lighter, not a linen, but like a linen cotton blend in the summer. And I love to get them in all the colors. I have them in, like, a green as well. It's just the perfect pant. And I think it. I think the reason it's so elevated is it has these pleats in the front that make them just seem like they're, like, perfect. They're like a suit pant almost, but the feeling is comfortable enough that you can kind of wear them anywhere. So highly recommend those. Those are really, really great. I love Aritzia. I feel like if I'm ever, like, looking for great basics, a really good example. My mom is such a big shopper. She loves the finer things in life, and she really invests in her wardrobe. And it's one of my favorite things about her. Obviously, I get I reap the dividends of that a lot of the times, but she's someone who likes to invest in her wardrobe, and the other day, she calls me and she goes, olivia. I just went to this place, Aritzia, and I got a suit, and I spent $300, $400 on it. A great blazer, and a great pair of pants, and my mind is blown. The fit, the material. She was going on and on and on about this suit, and I was like, welcome to the planet. Yes. Like, it is really good. I think they have amazing fits. I think they have something for everybody. I know they're effortless pants. They have a really wide size range, so you can really find a lot of, like, versatility there. I actually got a pair of effortless pants a few years ago, and I got the tall ones because I wanted them to have, like, a little bit of a puddle at my feet and wear them with heels, and they look so great. So my mom co signed them. I co signed them all to say, I just think that they're a great brand. If you are someone who's in the office every day and you need really great basics, or if you're not in the office and you just want a great pair of trousers, they've really become my go to. Everyone take a shot. Every time I say Aritzia, we're all going to be 10 sheets to the wind. Another pair of pants that I love, that we've actually talked about in this podcast. And I've worn them a lot. Banana Republic makes a pull on trouser. I know that that sounds a little odd, trust me. But they look so elevated, it's shocking. They don't have, like, a formal zipper, but they have these, like, darts and pleats in the front. So again, like, I think it's those pleats in the front that really can elevate anything. So while you're looking for pants, look for that pleating in the front. Those Banana Republic ones are like $120, so those are a really great option. And then I would also look at J. Crew. Of course. J. Crew makes great ones. I would look at Quince. Yes, I'm cosigning quince. I've actually pulled it a few times for the Today show and was really shocked at how good the quality was. We put a couple of our male models in their sweaters and I was like, that's really nice. Should I be taking that home for my husband? I don't know, but they're really, really great. And then you guys know my beloved costs. I love costs so much. I've been wearing a sweater from them non stop that feels like it could be from the row and fits like it could be from the row, but it was $140. I'm obsessed with the sweater. Favorite thing in the world. Highly recommend looking at cost if you're looking for, like, great, elevated basics. And I'm sure they have a great pant as well. I don't have a pant from them, but I just recommend them across the board. I feel like pants have really taken the forefront of so many of our conversations on the podcast recently. The best work pant, the best sleep pant, the best airplane pant. Pants really have great pr. Like, I feel like I could sell any pant or, like, buy any pant because there's just such good messaging around, like, this is the perfect pant for your life. I would really love that, actually, for tops. The other day I got a DM and someone asked me live, where are we Finding great tops right now that aren't T shirts and aren't button downs. And I actually, I didn't know what to say. So I feel like we need to take the same energy that we're taking into pants into tops because I need a little bit more variety there. I feel like it's always like the tank, the tee, the button down, and then maybe the going out top. But the going out top is kind of dyed a little bit. A lot of the times I'm wearing like a tank top and a leather jacket and that's like my going out top. I don't know if you guys have good going out tops. Please DM me because I feel like we need to crowdsource those. Those are like national treasures, hidden treasures, whatever we want to call it. They're just like non existent. Okay, next question. Loved this one. I'm spending the night at a new flings place. I need a spending the night at his place outfit. Not lingerie, more like relaxing on the couch. Cute vibes. Okay, I'm so glad that I actually have a very good answer for this because if I didn't, I would feel very lame and out of touch. I love negative underwear. Negative is. And I've been a fan of this brand for over 10 years actually. Fun fact, when I originally started this podcast as a blog, it was called Friend of a Friend. I hosted a pop up shop in New York. This was way before pop up shops. This was like a novel idea and I sold a bunch of different brands and it was like during the holidays so people could come in and like buy gifts. And Negative was the first brand in in there. I love them so much. The founder's amazing. They really like evolved and grown and found their niche. And they have a collection for negative called the Whipped Collection and they called it the Whipped collection because it literally feels as soft as like whipped butter. This is hands down the softest thing I've ever put on my body. It hugs you in all the right places. So it's like perfect for looking good, feeling good, all the things. They have a lot of versatility in it too. You can get like the little micro shorts, which I think are cute. I like the pants better and I actually wear the pants with like the long sleeve that they have. And they're, they're like little buttons down the center so you can like unbutton a few if you want, leave them all buttoned. But I think it's like a great way to feel comfortable and like you're lounging but sexy at the same time, it's not, like, overdone. It's not overt. You know, you're hanging on the couch. You don't want it to be, like, too over the top, but you want it to still feel like you're feeling good for, like, a date or anything like that. They also have great tanks. I love their tanks. If you don't want to do a long sleeve, the tanks are super comfortable too. Just like, you know, a cute little set that you pulled out of your overnight bag and like, oh, it's very, like this old thing, energy, but, like, very hip hugging. I actually remember there was a great video that went live on Instagram. I love Pookie and Jet. I think they're such a fun follow. And Pookie, I think maybe right after she had had a baby, like, had the full set on and walked into the kitchen and Jett literally followed her with her camera and was like, pookie, what are you wearing? Because it was, like, casual, you know, she was very much like, what do you mean? I'm at home in my pajamas. But it, like, hugged her in all the right places and she looked so great. So another thing that's co signed by multiple people. Have a great night. Hope you have fun. Moving on. I have a foot injury, and I'm having a hard time finding comfortable sandals. What are we wearing right now and into spring and summer? This is hands down the most popular question that I get at this time of the year, because everyone's planning their summer travel and they're like, what shoes are we packing to like, walk on our vacation that, you know, can look great with, like, a summer dress, but also, like, we won't get a million blisters, for starters. I'm sorry about your foot injury. That really sucks. I have a lower back injury, and those things impact the way that you get dressed every day. So I definitely feel for your pain. I'm going to talk about, like, flip flops. Let's start there really fast because I feel like this is the time of year where people wear flip flops. And as someone, again, with a back issue, where, like, if I'm too close to the ground and there's, like, no support, it's. It's a no go for me. It's a really bad situation. So flip offs are hard. I still wear them, but sparingly. I haven't tried this brand, just a disclaimer, but I've seen Jennifer Aniston promote it all the time. It's this brand called Archies, and they're like flip flops, but they have a little arch in them and they come in all these great colors and they're just like one step, maybe a bit better for our bodies than a standard. Just super flat, flat. So I would check out Archies. I'm going to try them myself. I'm going to order a pair and wear them this summer and see how I like them. But that's one thing that I would like immediately do. If you're thinking about your spring summer shoes, like instant upgrade. I would start there. The reality is if you are traveling this summer and you're walking around somewhere. I hate saying this because I really don't like sneakers in a sundress. I'm so sorry. I don't like sneakers in a sundress. And I also really don't like white sneakers. There's something about them that just feels way too athletic for me at least. If you're going to do a white sneaker, do like an off white sneaker or like a nude or a beige. I feel like that is just a little bit better. The stark white to me, like kind of takes away from the entire outfit. So those are two things I would avoid. But if you are traveling this summer and you're going somewhere that is like you're, you're, you're doing the tourism, like you're walking around, it has to be a sneaker. Like do not go to Rome on the family vacation where you're walking 20,000 steps and expect that you're gonna make it in your dainty sandals. I'm here to break it to you. You absolutely will not. Like, you will have blisters. You will be uncomfortable. Your day will be ruined. Go for the sneaker. I was in Japan last year and had this like exact scenario where like I thought I was gonna be cute and like wear my like Chanel Mary Janes or like my Adidas Sambas and like look, I love them all. But like those are flat footed shoes and like you're just not getting a lot of support and it's going to hurt. I really love my apls. I've been wearing them anytime I have to go for like long walks at home. I bring them to New York with me. I fly with them always because you're walking through the airport. They are like my gold standard supportive, comfortable athletic shoe that also looks really sleek. I have the black on black zip lines and I love them with jeans. I love them to the gym. I work out in them every day. I love them with a black pant they just kind of disappear into the outfit. And I feel like if you are going to be a tourist and you're wearing pants, they're a really great outfit. If you are somewhere where you want to be wearing a summer dress, I love something a bit more paired back. So I would go for the very popular Dries Van Noten sneaker. Those, I will say, are also very paired back and like, probably not a lot of support. Throw an arch support in there just to help you out. Veronica Beard also makes a really good dupe. Like really good. And they have them in a lot of different colors and they're really great shoes. Also, Jill Sander just launched a collaboration with Puma that is very cute. I think those sneakers are great for summer travel. And if you are someone that wants to wear ballet flats, I would say I've tried a lot of different ballet flats. I know Aloha's has the like, highest ranked, most comfortable ballet flat. Haven't tried them, but maybe give those a try. Take them for a spin around the house. But I also really love Margot. M A R G A U X. I have so many of their flats and they're so great. They feel like second skin on your feet, which I think is really nice. They're not heavy, they're not clunky. They really just feel an elevated house shoe, if that makes sense. Like an elevated slipper you'd wear around your house but still feel like nice for every day. Those are not a 20k step a day shoe. Like, let me repeat myself. They're not a 20k step a day shoe. But they'll be great if you're like walking around, maybe walking for dinner in a summer month and you want something that just feels elevated and nice. So I would look at those two, really make sure that you have some sort of arch support so you don't ruin your day. Because I have been that person where like, we're out, we're about, we're having the best time. We're 15,000 steps in Japan and I'm looking at my husband, like giving him the eyes, like the day is done. And he's like, wait a minute, we have like 10 more temples to see. So don't be that person. Wear the supportive shoes. Save the dainty sandals for the beach. The reality is like anything that is like a thin strap is going to cut into your feet. You're hot, your feet sweat, you're going to get blisters. It's not going to be comfortable. Save them for like the nicer Situations. Okay. I gave you guys a lot of options for shoes. I hope that's helpful. I will say I think there's a void in the market for great summer shoes. Maybe. Maybe I'll fill it one day. But it's very hard. And this is the most pressing question I get every spring. So clearly we're all on the same page and looking for something. One other shoe I also really like, and this is, like, a tragedy for me, but there's a brand that I love called Dear Francis, and they made a flat sandal years ago. It was a thong sandal, and the heel was like a quarter of an inch, Right? But, like, that quarter of an inch makes all the difference when you're five, four, and it just gives you, like, a little bit of a lift. But this, the thong part of it, they were like. It was like thick leather, so it never dug into my foot, and I never got blisters from it. And that leather was also really soft. Dream shoe. Like, dream, dream, dream shoe. Here's where the nightmare came in. They stopped making them. When they stopped making them panic, like, absolute panic. I'm so glad that I bought multiple colors because it's an amazing shoe. I did see a really similar pair recently on reformation, the Larson flat. I have not tried them, so I can't speak to them, but I think if you're also looking for flats this summer, look for a thick strap, soft leather, flat. It will make the world of a difference. You won't get blisters ready for summer. All these summer questions are getting me excited. Okay, speaking of, what are we wearing on a first date as the weather transitions? Okay. Morgan Stewart said it best. She said it recently on. I think it was on. We met at Acme. Great show. And she was like, it needs to be like your favorite pair of jeans, but then also, like, a top that's, like, kind of form fitting and shows a little bit of skin, but not too much. And I completely agree with that. I think if you're going on a first date, you need to wear, like, your absolute favorite outfit in the world. Like, the thing that makes you feel your best, best, best. And honestly, I don't care if that's like, a maxi skirt and a tank top. Like, I don't care if that's, like, jeans and a skimpy top. Like, if that's what makes you feel good, that is naturally going to radiate. And so that's always like, my first role is, like, wear the thing that you love the most, not the thing that you think the date's going to, like, because the date is going to eventually end up liking you for you. And part of that is your personal style. When I go on dates with Alex now, like, I wear whatever I want. I wear the craziest things. I don't even care. Like, it's just the thing that makes me happy and that makes me a better date. So I would say wear what you love, but if you're still stuck on that, like, I really do defer to your favorite pair of jeans that hugs you in all the right places and, you know, you look great in. And I would probably wear, like, either, like, an elevated tank. So something that, like, you know, is a nicer material. Maybe it's a silk. I love a V neck. I love something that, like, shows a little bit of, like, collarbone, a little chest situation. I feel like that's always really sexy. And great long sleeve, maybe turtleneck, never. And then maybe, like, a great jacket over it. It's still gonna be a little chilly at night, so, like, maybe a leather, maybe a suede. And then, like, your favorite pair of boots or a great pair of heels. I think it depends on where you are. I always think, like, in the springtime, dates always end with, like, a walk afterwards. You're walking in the neighborhood or something like that. Or he'll walk you home. So don't wear a heel. That's gonna, like, really make that walk awkward. I just spent the week in New York, and it was, like, perfect weather. That's, like, my favorite time to be in New York is in April because it's like, everyone's out to dinner, everyone's walking around. Great date weather. Okay, I get this question a lot, and I feel like it's time that we answer it definitively. On the podcast. What are your favorite inexpensive basics? We mentioned Aritzia. I think Aritzia makes great basics. I have a lot of their teas, but I will say I think my tried and true is Uniqlo. I wear all of their tees. Like, if you're looking for great tees, Alex and I, my husband, live in Uniqlo tees. Like, for men. Uniqlo arism is the closest you're going to get to basically a dupe of a luxury tee. They look so good. Make sure it's, like, the thicker weight and not the weight. That feels kind of like gym material. It will fall really nicely. Great tee for men, by the way. If anyone's looking, I love any of their tops. I'm someone who gets cold all the time. So they're long sleeves that feel like a little bit sheer, but you don't see anything. They're not revealing. I wear those all the time. I wear them to the gym. I. I wear their heat tech in the winter. It just like the fabrics are incredible and the price point is unbeatable. I think Uniqlo is amazing. Sometimes I'll like go to the store here in LA and like, it kind of feels like going. It's like my version of going to Target. It's just like a different world. I get lost in there. Come find me in like five hours. I love Uniqlo. I also will say I've been trying a lot of Old Navy pieces lately. I cannot believe how, how good their denim is. I mean, obviously like the brand's legacy is based in denim, but their wow jeans are incredible. I wore them recently, for starters, they're $25. $25 and they've been $25 since the 90s, which I think is insane. But they like fit really nicely. I wore like a mid rise baggie on a trip I was on recently and they fit kind of like a vintage Levi's does. I love them so much. I really recommend trying those out. Tried on a bunch of other pairs too. But I think that if you're looking for affordable denim, accessible denim, highly recommend. Old Navy. I also love their tank tops. I just got a tank from them that is, it is so good that like I'm wearing it, putting it in the washing machine just so I can have it back for the next day. It is like a snug tank that fits in all the right places. A little bit cropped, like, will fit right at like a mid rise pant. And I just think that they're great. So I love Uniqlo. I love Old Navy. I mentioned Quince earlier. I think all really great things. If you're looking for accessories, which I know wasn't the question, but I feel like I found a lot of good, affordable accessories. Recently Verified has the cutest bags. I actually have one with me today. And then this other brand I actually just saw the other day in a showroom and I got a pair of their flip flops for summer. If you love the Christopher Esberg PVC jelly flats, but they're out of your budget, they are quite expensive. These are the perfect dupe. So this brand, Black Suede Studio, all of their shoes are around like $250 there. I see a few, like the heels are like 320, but they're so cute. And fit so well. Highly recommend. I just got a few pairs for myself and cannot wait to wear these all summer. I've been talking a lot about the color baby blue, which we'll talk about more in this episode, but they have so many cute baby blue shoes. I would get all of them. They're so cute. Next question. How can I follow trends and not splurge? I am someone who really believes that trends are meant to be fun. They're not the thing you want to invest a ton of money in. I always say that trends are supposed to be like the accoutrement to the meal, right? They're not the whole shebang. You really want your personal style to be defined and not something that can fluctuate as easy as a new hem or a new print that's in style. But with that being said, it is really challenging if you don't want to spend a ton of money on these things that are supposed to be experimental. I love shopping on resale sites. Depop is just one of my favorite places on the Internet. 1. I feel like I find so many incredible pieces that I wouldn't have found anywhere else. But I also really love connecting with people who love fashion as much as I do. So that's why I love to dabble in trends. Actually, if you're watching on YouTube right now I'm wearing a skirt that I got from Depop. It's this like very cute vintage silk skin slip skirt and it has a double layer to it. The top layer is longer, and I love that movement and texture in an outfit. Right now I feel like it's perfect for spring. I'm wearing it with this oversized suede bomber and this is the outfit that I feel like takes you from winter to spring weather. I actually got this skirt from the seller that I found who sources all vintage clothes from Japan. I love her store. But recently I also went down a rabbit hole for spring trends because I feel like we've been talking about that so so much on the podcast lately. If you are looking to, like get some great things for your wardrobe for spring, you can find them on Depop and not feel like you're breaking the bank. For starters, they have so many great baby blue items right now. You guys know I've been talking about baby blue a lot. I just feel like it's the color for spring. I actually feel like that baby blue color really came in after the Dior show. There was this one look that Jonathan Anderson styled with a baby blue lady bag, but none of the rest of the outfit had baby blue in it, and I feel like that is such a great lesson for styling. Baby blue. Think of it like your favorite pair of jeans. You get ready every day and you put on an outfit with jeans, but it doesn't have to match the blue. Right. Think of it as a neutral. So there's this very cute baby blue vintage tee that I saw on Depop. They have so many great vintage tees that you can find from all around the world. And that baby blue tee has, like, a little swan on it. It's so cute. I also found a lot of great pieces on there that have a lot of fringe in it, and I feel like we're seeing so, so much fringe and fashion right now. And I often find some amazing designer pieces on there. I found this Ralph Lauren black fringe skirt that I feel like is on every person's wish list right now. It's a knit skirt with a fringe bottom. It's midi skirt. And I love a skirt like this year round. I know most people think it's like, a summer thing only, but I love it with a blazer in the fall or, like, a long coat. And then of course, in the summer with a tank top and flats. So cute. I've been getting so many of my good finds on Depop, and again, you're meant to have fun with it. Trends aren't meant to be this massive commitment. If you do find something that you love on Depop and it feels trendy, I think that's the best place for you to experiment with your personal style and take a little bit of a risk. Okay, moving on. While we talked about so many pieces just now for spring trends that are, like, 90s inspired, someone did ask me if they think that 90s minimalism is going to continue throughout the year because. Because of obviously, Love Story. Everybody was talking about Carolyn Bessette Kennedy for a while. I say firm 10 toes down on the ground. Absolutely not. I am obsessed with how fun fashion is right now. I feel like for years we were stuck in quiet luxury land and, like, everything was really, like, mellow and, like, uniform and, like, capsule wardrobe. And I am so excited that fashion feels fun again. I feel like it's encouraging me to, like, go in my wardrobe more than ever and, like, wear things that I haven't worn in a really long time. And I do have to say, like, of course, when things are talked about in popular culture, we all want to dress like that, right? Like, it's so easy to be influenced by those things. That's the Biz. But I will say that, like, I think now fashion is more about personal style and like individualism now more than ever. So wear what you love. If 90s minimalism style is that please, by all means, have the best time. I love it. I love a capsule wardrobe. I think, you know, if it works for some people, it works, but I don't think it's going to be a quote unquote trend. Okay, and last but not least, one last question. A great, great question. I'm currently going through a layoff. What is your number one tip for getting a job in fashion? 1. I'm sorry that you're going through that, but I think when one door closes, another one opens. And I always say that whether you're going through a layoff or you're in a career that you're not thrilled about right now and you're looking to career shift, I think one of the best things you can do is, like, gather as much data you can about the people in your life who can help you get to that place. So, for example, if you have a friend who's in fashion, ask that friend if they can go to lunch or grab a coffee and get as much knowledge and intel from them as you possibly can. Ask them how they entered the industry. There was a really great clip that I saw recently of someone on Emma Greed's podcast, and it was the founder of Sai Beauty. And she said that when she began to develop her product and she knew that she was about to start raising funds, and she went to every person she knew, she went through the Rolodex of her mind and made a master list of every person who she could ever remember that ever even remotely talked about fundraising. Maybe it was an uncle, a friend of a friend, a person like three times removed that she had heard had invested in this company. She made a master list of all those people and one by one would always go to them. She would set up a meeting and always either go to their office or their house, would never be like, oh, can you meet me here at this place? She would always go to them, always have a pitch deck ready and give them the pitch for her beauty brand. And I thought that that was such a great universal message for someone if you are looking to get into a new space, because it's basically pooling the resources that you already have. And I think that that is a great place to start versus having me say to you, like, network, go to events, meet new people. That is really hard. It's incredible, incredibly hard to meet new People, it's incredibly hard to, like, find the right spaces and the right rooms to get into. So I would say use your existing resources to find as much as you possibly can about the industry you're interested in. And if that's fashion, maybe you have a friend who has a friend who's in the industry. Maybe you have an aunt or a cousin or an old coworker who has dabbled in the industry. You never know how that could transpire. Or maybe that friend meets up with someone else and they say, oh, we're hiring for this new role and you're top of mind for that friend because you've put yourself out there and like, said that you want to move into this new space. So I think putting yourself out there as much as you possibly can and meeting and connecting with as many people is super, super important. I also think if you're switching industries, you kind of have to be okay with starting from scratch. Obviously, if you had, you know, like a certain level job somewhere and you're starting in a new industry, you might not be at that same level. You kind of have to be okay with maybe a little bit of decrease to get whatever it is that you want to at the end of the day. But I think equally as important as like, networking and putting yourself out there is if you want to be in fashion, I think you have to have a pov. You have to have a point of view, a perspective. You have to show such an interest in the industry and such a love for how this industry works. And I think if you don't know where to start with that, there's never been a time like now where there's more fashion knowledge, data, education than ever before. There are so many people who I love following who teach me so much about the industry, so much that I would never know every single day. And that helps inform my perspective on this show. And so find those people. Find the people that are, like, doing cool things in the industry and inspire you so you can educate yourself and begin to further and further have a perspective on what you want to be and how you want to show up in the industry. So those are my two pieces of advice. Get out there, talk to people, and really do your best to learn as much as you possibly can about the industry that you want to join. Okay, guys. This is always so much fun. I love doing these Q and A's. As always, I will continue to put those question boxes on Instagram. If you don't find them, you can always DM me. I usually pick a few to be featured on these episodes, but if I don't hit yours, you can always DM me and I will try to get back to you with your question. A lot to look forward to. We're about to be in May. The Met Gala is next week. I'm so excited to be talking about that. It's the first Monday in May, so make sure you are marking your calendars.
