Hi guys. Welcome back to another episode of let's Get Dressed. It's your host, Lip Perez. I hope you guys all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your friends, family, friends, giving, whatever you guys did. I was feeling so grateful last week. Of course that feels on theme, but I was also just feeling so grateful for this incredible community that we have brought together this year. It's been a dream year for me. On the podcast. I was able to rebrand and get to show up on the mic every week talking about something that I love so much while also being able to find a community of people that love it just as much as I do and also get to chat with some people that I really admire on the show every week. So a big thank you to you guys for basically letting me have my dream job. It is so much fun to be able to be here every week with you guys and meet so many of you and chat with so many of you guys. So thank you again for supporting me and supporting the show. We are past Thanksgiving. It is Monday. We've got three weeks left of the year. I am truly shocked of how we're already there. But if you are going into a really crazy work period right now, Q4 emails, projects, closing up shop on all the things I'm sending you love, I'm sending you strength. You guys got this. We're so close to the end. Today's episode is with one of my friends whose style and beauty secrets I have been dying to know but have not been able to ask her when we've been out and about. So being able to have a podcast, it's also a very great thing because I get to bring my friends on and interrogate them about all these things. And that is Christina Naden. Whether it's her perfect hair, gorgeous skin that you guys probably recognized from the Summer Fridays ads on your TSA bins at lax, or her really chic and colorful cool style. Christina's built a following of close to a million people who love to get a glimpse into her everyday life. And in today's episode I interrogated her about her best kept hair and skincare secrets, how she curates her closet and where she actually buys the perfect white tank which she was wearing for the episode. You can also watch this episode on YouTube, of course, and you can see the white tank there. We also talk about her journey as a brand founder and starting her hair accessories brand, Baha'I Kubo, and the influence of her mom and her Filipino roots in the brand and her personal style too. Also, there is a brand new holiday drop on Baja Kubo right now. That is so cute. It's a velvet red and black scrunchie. That is adorable. You can go shop it at the link in the description of this episode. If you're looking for a stocking stuffer or you have a friend who loves scrunchies, this is the gift, guys. I hope you all love the episode. Let's go get dressed with Christina Naden. Hey, Christina. Welcome to the show.
A
How's it going?
B
Liv, I'm so excited to have you here.
A
It's crazy. This is fun finally happening.
B
I know. This is your first pod.
A
Yeah.
B
How do you feel?
A
I feel okay.
B
Yeah, it's okay.
A
I'm talking to my friend, so it's fine.
B
Yeah.
A
But yeah, we were planning to do this a while ago now, before I went to the Philippines.
B
We've been talking about this since August.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah. Because I was like, let's do it. And then you left for Fashion Month. I left for Fashion Month. And then you left the Philippines for a long time.
A
Just hectic. Hectic lives now.
B
You know what, you're always on the go. You're always, like, traveling to the most beautiful places. I can't blame you. I know you don't need to be here in our studio doing the part.
A
It's hard. It's hard to leave. When I'm in the Philippines. It's really difficult to leave. Like, I was supposed to stay for two weeks and then I ended up being there for just over a month.
B
Let me tell you, when I, like, look at the pictures that I see you post in the Philippines, you've made it like a bucket list destination for me because I've never been. But I don't blame you. Like, I see the most gorgeous beaches and, like, incredible food. It looks insane.
A
It's like, I think sometimes being in la, you kind of forget there's other places in the world that, like, are so beautiful. And like, I think I'm so happy that I grew up with both being British and also being Filipino and, like, having that every summer. I'd go there as a kid and it was like the most simple, best times in my life growing up. So being able to do that now and like, being on the island, having the simple life and just appreciating those things, like, is my favorite thing ever.
B
I have, like, a very controversial question to ask. Do you think LA is beautiful?
A
I don't even know why I even said that.
B
No, just confirming. I had to Confirm.
A
Because, like, I think I was trying to say, like, when I zoom out of. It's such a bubble la sometimes that the things that. Even the things that you stress out about here, in the grand scheme of things, nothing is that deep.
B
Yes.
A
I think it's nice to be there for a hub. Like, I love my house and I love. I'm such a homebody, so I love being at home, having my friends around. My routine here is great. Like, I love working out and you're healthy food and you. You know, I have the best postmate orders every day.
B
Oh, we know. So queen of the good food.
A
Yeah. So it's. That's great. But I have to leave every few months.
B
That's what. When people ask me what, like, the biggest difference between living in New York and LA is, it's that my routine in LA is 10 times healthier.
A
Yeah.
B
Like New York, I would get up in the morning, two shots of espresso, getting on the subway, which, like, for me was like a high anxiety thing. Being in a bustling city. Like, here, I take things a little bit slower, which is good and bad.
A
Yeah. You know, I feel that.
B
Good and bad.
A
Yeah.
B
I'm so excited to have you on the show for a lot of reasons, but I've always loved your style. You have a style that's very unique to you and your personality. And I would love to know how you get dressed every day. Walk us through what a morning's like. You're at home, you're in your closet, you're, like, rummaging through clothes. Do you start with an item or do you start with a feeling? How does it work?
A
It obviously depends what I'm doing that day, but my day to day, I love to be comfy.
B
Yeah.
A
I have quite a boyish style. I'm either in sweats 95% of the time. I also love primary colors. Like, I love a good crew neck, I love a good vintage tee, a good staple jean, and I love sneakers.
B
I like the primary color comment because I can see that. Like, I feel like when I see you, you're in, like, a great red or a great yellow. And even right now, like, your outfit's relatively neutral, but you've got this, like, chartreuse kind of like lime green sweater around your shoulders. And that makes the whole outfit.
A
Yeah. Like, I'm pretty simple with what I wear, but I always add, like, a little bit of color. Even, like with a scrunchie, like, I'd put. And that would make my look. I love a primary Color. Love a good red.
B
I love the holiday set that you just gave me. That bright red is so beautiful.
A
We're launching that on the 4th or.
B
3Rd of December, right when this episode's coming out. Guys, that's so exciting.
A
I know.
B
They're so cute. Perfect. Like, honestly, I feel like I could wear a little black dress and like that red velvet scrunchie and just be so cute.
A
Yeah, it's been a really cool learning curve, like, making a brand, seeing it from the other side and even just every step of making a product, the box, the P, like, you don't know how much goes into it. So now I'm like, okay, every single thing matters. So, yeah, it's been a really, really cool journey.
B
I know your mom was highly influential in the brand, and I love seeing you post about her and, like, your connection. How has that influenced the making of the brand?
A
Yeah, it's kind of crazy. When I had the event, I actually. Walking in, I actually started crying, like, to myself, because it has become. I like, start crying now. It has become like a big journey of even just discovering more about my roots and also discovering more about my mum and my family. And, yeah, it wasn't actually planned to do that, but I was, like, going through old images of my mum. Like, they really recorded in so much of our childhood and their relationship, my mum and dad, and that was so cool to see. And seeing my mum wearing oversized scrunchies, big accessories like that really made the brand for me. So the name of the brand is Bajo Kubo. It symbolizes being part of a community and appreciating the simple things in life. And that's how my mum grew up. She grew up in, like, a really small village in the province. And they didn't come from a lot of money, they didn't come from a lot of anything. And they were super happy with what they had. It's really difficult to talk about your own brand. I think that's like, the most. It's like a vulnerable thing, isn't it? I didn't really realize what I was doing when I was making a brand so intimate about myself and my family and how I grew up. But I'm happy that I have been doing it. I love showing people part of my life now, especially how I grew up. And, like, sometimes I post, like, images of my family when I was a kid, like those little snippets. People don't even know that I'm Filipino, so it's nice to show that about me.
B
I think it's really great. And I think it's been such a. The most natural integration for you of all time because you have the most incredible hair. Is this genetic or is there something that you do to keep it as stunning as it is?
A
I mean, my mom has better hair than me.
B
What?
A
Yeah.
B
Oi.
A
Yeah, I'm stressed.
B
My thinning hair is stressing out.
A
Oh, my God, stop it. No, she has really good, thick, wavy, curly hair. Like, and that was obviously one of the inspirations. Like, the reason why I made the brand was because my mum was. Had the most amazing hair. She had always the biggest scrunchies. And these are my mum's earrings, actually, from the 90s, like, so she was a big impact. So it's genetics. But I do look after my hair.
B
Okay. What are you doing to keep your hair as, like, incredible as it is?
A
I love the leave in treatment from K18. I use that once a week. I mean, if it's really dry, I just put that in or I have, like a gloss put in.
B
How often are you styling?
A
It depends. Like, if I'm in LA, once a week, I'll do like a blowout like this and then it lasts me for a week.
B
Are you doing that blowout?
A
Yeah, girl.
B
That's a workout.
A
No, no, I know it's not actually.
B
Really? I feel like when I air wrap my hair and like, put it up. Oh, my God, I'm like, sweating afterwards.
A
Yeah, I don't like the air wrap.
B
So if you're not using the airwrap, what are you using?
A
Any hair dryer. Like, even if I'm at a hotel. And the ones that are, like, wider.
B
With a rolling brush. Yeah. Like old school. Yeah. Anything you're putting after to, like, let it hold. A week's a long time.
A
So when my hair's wet, you put the bumble and bumble thickening spray into the roots.
B
Okay, love.
A
And then the. Wow. Shiny silver one. So the spray humidity one.
B
Okay. For no frizz.
A
Yeah. And then when it's all pinned up after you. Texturizing spray from a roubo.
B
Okay.
A
That's it.
B
I feel like I just got like, the secret to life from the gods.
A
But the only reason why it stays for a week, honestly, I'm not even kidding. Because of these. Because I always put my hair up. So basically my mum taught me that if you. Her hair's naturally curly, wavy.
B
Okay.
A
But she would always wake up with the most amazing hair. But she would just put her hair in like a. Like a bun.
B
Okay.
A
When she went to bed, and she would wake up like this.
B
So you just twist. You just put your hair back. You just twisted it, like in a bun, and you're putting a scrunchie over it.
A
Yeah.
B
See, I. I'm gonna try this out because I have really thin hair, and for thick hair like yours, it will hold that shape. My hair doesn't hold a curl to save my life.
A
Did you curl your hair?
B
Yeah, this morning. This is what it looks like after this morning.
A
No, but it gives a cute, like, Olsen twin kink.
B
Please tell us more. But yes, like, it's like, a very, like, loose, loose curl. I barely put product in it, too, because I wanted it to be a loose curl, but for my thin hair. Girls listening. I. My hair doesn't hold a curl, so I usually need a little bit more. But I want to try the scrunchie situation because I feel like I've seen scrunchies making the world of a difference with your hair in bed. I also don't like the idea of, like, my hair just, like, being out and about while I sleep. I feel like that's not letting it. Letting me wake up with, like, the best styled hair. Yeah, I need, like, a little bit more. I need a little more help.
A
Yeah, it's nice.
B
I think hair can change your entire wardrobe in the way that you get dressed.
A
I was thinking that today, actually, I would.
B
I think about you, for example, who, like, you always give, like, again, like, fun, but also, like, refined and very chic. And your hair plays such a big role in that. Like, the way it moves, like, it's so thick and beautiful that, like, you could be giving Ralph Lauren but be in, like, a bathing suit.
A
Yeah.
B
I also think about, like, Morgan Stewart, for example, who's got this, like, bleach blonde bob, and her whole outfit wouldn't look like that if it wasn't for the bob, like, hair. We can even go all the way back to, like, friends and, like, the Rachel haircut. Like, I think hair is deeply influential in the way that we get dressed and the way that it puts your outfit together.
A
I went to the Grove before this, right? And I was wearing basketball white basketball shorts and a white crew neck. And I had my hair like this, and I just felt so put together. Hair is everything, and I was literally looking like a boy, but I felt put together because of my hair.
B
A quick break from our conversation to thank the sponsor of today's episode, Posh Peanut. For all of the parents listening or even fellow aunts like me. Aunts of many. Posh Peanut has become a go to for so many of my friends because they truly have the most adorable styles for your kids closets. I know we talk about adult fashion here, but while we're at it, we might as well also fill the kids in our lives closets with very chic things as well. What I love most about Posh Pina is that their pieces are made with ridiculous, ridiculously soft viscose from bamboo that even stays soft after you wash the clothes over and over again. And that fabric is four times stretchier than cotton, so it will actually grow with your child, which is such a sustainable option for your kids closets. It's also breathable and chemical free, which means they're delicate on your baby's sensitive skin. They make thoughtfully crafted, beautiful and stylish clothing and they even have in house designs like florals to even your kids favorite brands like Hot Wheels, Disney, hello Kitty and Barbie. Also, with the holidays coming up, it's a perfect opportunity to get some matching sets for the whole family. They make clothes for infants and kids, but they also have sizings for moms and dads if you want the whole family to match. And as I said before, if you're not a parent, consider this the perfect gift idea for anyone. It will definitely be under the tree at my Christmas this season. And right now, Posh Peanut is offering our listeners 20% off your first order with promo code LGD. Go to poshpeanut.com LGD and use promo code LGD for 20% off your first order. That's posh peanut. P O S H-P-E-A-N U T.com LGG promo code LGD. Okay, you are like beach aesthetics for me. Like, I'm always like, oh, she looks so great. What are some of your favorite bikini brands? Like, where are you shopping when you're going home for the Philippines?
A
I feel like I have the best bikinis, actually.
B
You. I know you do.
A
Yeah. Okay, so it depends what you want for the bikini.
B
Okay.
A
If that makes sense.
B
Yep.
A
So I started. I've been surfing whilst I'm on the island.
B
Okay.
A
The perfect suits for surfing that still make you feel cute. Same Los Angeles love.
B
Same.
A
Really love them.
B
They're good because I think they still give like a good amount of coverage because at least I don't surf a lot. I haven't so long. But I still want like a little coverage while I'm doing that. But they're still really cute.
A
Yeah. And enough Coverage, but also like a cheeky little bum. Not, not too thongy, but cheeky.
B
I just got a bathing suit that was a little too thongy and like, I don't. I wonder when I'm going to wear it.
A
See, I love the skimpy bikinis for tanning.
B
Yes. And that's it.
A
Yeah.
B
Like, I'm not wearing that around like my husband's family when I'm like taking the kids in the pool. No, it's like when I'm at my girlfriend's house and we're tanning and no one's around.
A
Exactly. Another brand I think have done a good job is Tropic of Sea.
B
That's Candice Swanepo's brand. Very good.
A
Love. And also the clothing is really good as well.
B
Oh, I have to try that.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay. Good to know. Any others?
A
I also go for a crochet vibe.
B
Okay.
A
Yeah.
B
How does it not stretch?
A
I mean, when I'm on the island, I'm either wearing crochet or bikinis or linen.
B
Okay. But a crochet bikini, if you get it wet, it's stretching.
A
Yeah, it's getting a little soggy.
B
It's getting a little soggy, guys.
A
Yeah.
B
Let's just be honest here. But it's more for aesthetics. Like you're going to the pool party.
A
In that, but you're not.
B
You're not going in the pool.
A
No. Yeah, exactly.
B
It's like your pool party outfit.
A
Exactly.
B
It's I'm not getting wet.
A
Yeah. And that's a KOA swim. And it's like a Bali little family run business kind of thing. And I love their stuff. Like I live in their stuff.
B
Oh, I love that.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah. Every time I see you on the beach, I'm like, oh, I don't know where the magic shopping mall is that she goes to with all the great bikinis. But you always have the best sets.
A
Yeah.
B
It's just like you have such a great collection.
A
I love it's. I feel like I'm. My best version when I'm on the beach.
B
I love that. I love that. That's something I'm like trying to work on is like working on. I mean, I lived in New York for so long that I just didn't have a lot of swimsuits. And I feel like swimsuits and workout clothes for me fall in the same category of like, I'll just put them on and go. But I do think. And you do this so well. I often look at your Instagram for inspiration. You do really well, at styling, those moments, like, you're not just putting on the aloe set and going to work out, you're putting on like a cute little sock with it.
A
Yeah.
B
And yeah, like every time I see you, I'm like, fuck, I did not come prepared.
A
No, socks are really important.
B
Tell me more.
A
I love a good sock. I love the perfect sock. I have the perfect place to buy the socks.
B
You have to tell us because I get asked this all the time. Okay, you don't have to if you don't want to.
A
No, no, no. I will tell you. It's actually from New York.
B
Give me all your secrets.
A
So basically where I get my socks from a place in Brooklyn called the general front store.
B
Wow.
A
Perfect socks.
B
And you're talking about a sock that you would like, put over sneakers. Put with a loafer.
A
I'm not really a loafer girl.
B
Okay. I'm not a loafer. I am a loafer girl, but I'm definitely not doing my best work with a loafer right now because of the sock. And I get dmed about this every single week. Liv, tell us the perfect sock for.
A
A loafer or comcy for a loafer.
B
I have to try that.
A
Love comc.
B
Okay.
A
But for like my day to day workout and life, Front general store, they have like two pairs that are perfect.
B
Okay. Yeah, noted. I'm writing all of this down because those are. That's still new territory for me. I'm someone who likes to style my like, day, like what I'm wearing for the day. But when it comes to my workout clothes or even like going to the beach, I like, can't be bothered.
A
Yeah.
B
Especially because I work out at like maybe seven or eight. At that time in the morning, I'm like, no, no, no, no. Just put on the set and go like my.
A
One of my biggest icks on a guy is footsie socks and ankle socks. I'm like looking around.
B
Okay. Yes. Because like, seeing a man in like the footies is really tough.
A
When they take the sock. When they take the shoe off. And it's just a footsie sock. Yeah.
B
There's really no excuse for those.
A
No.
B
Okay. Comcy, love and the general Front store.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay.
A
But yeah, they have it online as well. Front general store. I like, buy great loads at a time.
B
Yeah. I feel like you're very good at the cute sock. The scrunchie, obviously. Like, I'll see you in a workout and you're really wearing an earring.
A
I sleep with these.
B
My kind of fashion girl.
A
Yeah.
B
She Sleeps in those in her white scrunchie.
A
Oh, yeah. 100.
B
Yeah. You're. You're. When I was. When I was a kid, and this is the true fashion child in me. When I was a kid, I always, like, had, like, a very beautiful pajama on or, like, a cute outfit to bed, because what if Prince Charming was coming to get me? He couldn't look at me like that.
A
That's so cute.
B
Yeah, you are.
A
That's me.
B
You are in the earring, in the scrunchie, ready for anything.
A
I'm just thinking if I, like. If I'm obviously doing, like, cardio, I'll take them off.
B
Yes, obviously.
A
But they're not heavy.
B
I also want to talk about what you're wearing now because you have, like, some really great basics on. And for me, I'm always on the hunt for good basics. You have a white tank on that looks relatively thin, but I don't see a bra strap. What's going on?
A
I never wear a bra.
B
Nothing.
A
No.
B
I can't see anything.
A
But again, when it comes to wife beaters.
B
Yep.
A
I have the best ones.
B
No, I am so glad that we got you on this podcast because it. You're like, I'm a minimal dresser. I like color. Like, primary colors, whatever. But I have the best of everything.
A
No, I do.
B
You do?
A
Yeah.
B
You absolutely have the best of everything.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay. But.
A
But I'm like Homer Simpson, though. Like, I. You know, when he opens up his wardrobe and it's like the same thing. And I actually get it from my dad as well, because he's the same. I have 100 pairs of jeans, 100 pairs of wife beaters. I have, I mean, unlimited scrunchies. Like, everything's the same. If you go into my wardrobe, it's all the same.
B
Right.
A
But the same. But all the best ones.
B
I love this.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay. You're not going to tell us?
A
I will tell you.
B
Okay, great.
A
And I never. I actually never tell my secrets.
B
Okay. I won't put this on TikTok.
A
Okay. We all know about the tank air. Tank top. Come on, man.
B
The tank air. Two words.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay. Okay. Okay. I was like, she's got an amazing British accent. I couldn't hear from this far. Yes.
A
Tank tops.
B
Yes.
A
Really great. I mean, it's more of, like, a little bit more elevated than, you know, the normal wife beater.
B
Yep.
A
Love that. But these ones, I actually get vintage. Yeah.
B
All of them.
A
Most of them. The best ones that I have are vintage.
B
Just from a vintage store.
A
From a Specific vintage store. Moth food.
B
Yeah, moth food.
A
I think it's an eagle rock. Well, yeah, it's an eagle rock.
B
Well, here's the good thing. I'm not going all the way over there.
A
So. Good. It's like an appointment only place.
B
Okay. You're already winning there because you just lost 50% of the customers here who are like, I'm not doing that, so don't worry.
A
But. Oh, do you know what? I also. Do you know where else I get them from? The front general store in Brooklyn. In Brooklyn?
B
Are you in Brooklyn this much? You go online?
A
No, I. Literally, when I'm in New York, I have like two places to go, and that's one of them.
B
Okay. It's so great if you guys are listening and not watching on YouTube. It's literally the perfect tank. And I. I'm shocked you're not wearing a bra. I can see nothing. Yeah, it's that perfect thickness.
A
I do. I do cut them myself, though, sometimes.
B
See, I think that's okay. I think, like, knowing your proportions and where the shirt needs to hit, especially for a tank, is totally fine.
A
Yeah.
B
Like, I don't recommend it for all shirts, but I think tanks, you kind.
A
Of want that feel because it's better than a last. Like.
B
Yes. I'm also very pro if it's within your budget and you're able to do it. Getting your T shirts tailored to where you want them to be.
A
Yeah.
B
Especially if it's like your white tee, your tank that you wear every single day. Like, those are actually the clothes that I would say, like, invest more in tailoring than anything because it's like, those are every day.
A
Make sure they fit you.
B
Jeans, like a little nip in the waist in a place where it's like. You know how the back of your jeans sometimes can, like, triangle out? It means they don't fit you.
A
Yeah.
B
Like, just that tiny little nip in the back can make the world of a difference in your jeans. I think me personally, I'm lazy, so, like, sometimes I just don't want to go to the tailor. But, like, I love that you cut that tank because it's like, that's your everyday and it works. Yeah.
A
Yeah.
B
I feel like I pressured you into, like, some revealing some major fashion secrets.
A
No, I think it was. It was time for me to give out some secrets. Yeah.
B
I keep hearing this conversation that everyone's like, bring back gatekeeping and fashion.
A
And I'm like, I'm quite a big gatekeeper.
B
Yes. That goes back to your mystery.
A
I know it's like one of my most common asked questions is, what's your skincare routine?
B
I'm not pressing. I didn't ask. You asked.
A
It's funny because the reason why I didn't ever answer it is because I never really had one.
B
That doesn't surprise me one bit. Are you someone who just like washes your face with water and goes to bed?
A
I used to be.
B
I hate you.
A
Yeah. And that's why, like, my mum.
B
We're friends. Guys, don't.
A
We're the same.
B
Everyone listening. We're friends.
A
My mum was the same. Like, she still is. She doesn't use, like, cleansers. However, now I do. One of my friends, Dom, she introduced me to this brand called Osmosis.
B
I've seen it. I have not tried it, love. Okay. And you just use their cleanser, have a whole step by step thing, Everything from them. Yeah, I'm a huge believer in that. I think if you're going to go to a brand that has a multistep thing, you need to use everything from that brand because they all work together. They're formulated to work together.
A
Exactly.
B
I love that.
A
And like, I mean, I love glowy makeup and I love a glowy skincare. And these products, I feel like, make me feel like I'm glowing within. So. Yeah, you should try it.
B
You know, my cleanser is very off brand. Like, I use. Have you ever seen that cleanser that's like Brave Soldier clean skin? No, it's a unisex cleanser. It's like, I think my boyfriend in high school used it.
A
Is that what the brand's called?
B
It's literally called Brave Soldier Soldier. And the. Do you want to see it?
A
Yeah.
B
Okay.
A
What?
B
Yep. Literally called Brave Soldier.
A
Is it like sold in Target?
B
No, my dermatologist sells office for starters, but you can get it on Amazon. But yeah, it's literally called Brave Soldier. And then the wash that I. I mean, first of all, when you Google Brave Soldier, it's weird. Hold on, hold on, guys. It's literally Brave Soldier clean skin.
A
I've never seen that before.
B
Yeah, it's. I'm telling you, it's a unisex cleanser. And two weeks ago, I decided to go rogue, which is crazy. I'm 30 years old. What am I doing? Went rogue. I had the craziest breakout, like cystic acne everywhere. I looked like a teenager and I was like, I guess I got to go back to the Brave Soldier. Use the Brave. Sold. And my skin is like perfectly clear. Like, not a Not a cloud in the sky. As I like to say.
A
If it's not broke, don't fix it.
B
It's true. If it's not broke, don't fix it. That's really how I feel about it. Thank you for spilling your secrets.
A
You're welcome.
B
I'm really sorry. But you know what? If you're going to be on our TSA bins and, like, in my mailbox for, like, summer Fridays and all that stuff, I need to know.
A
True. I do love their new face spray, though.
B
I mean, I love everything they make. That's like. That's. We're not even going to talk about it because it's just.
A
We already know.
B
Who do you know?
A
Yeah.
B
Like, there's a lip butter bomb in every single one of my purses.
A
Same.
B
It's in my car, it's in my main purse, it's in my work tote.
A
It's probably in my jeans right now.
B
Yeah. Like, I can't. That's. If someone was to ask me, what's the one thing I can't leave my house without? It's that.
A
We love that.
B
Yeah, I can't. And then I think of your face. I do want to know one of your, like, good styling tips. Because you are a model. You're on sets all the time. Is there something. And I always find that the models know all the tricks. Like, you guys see everything behind the scenes. Like, is there something that you've incorporated in the way that you get dressed or, like, the way that you nip and tuck things in your wardrobe from being on set?
A
I think it's just less is more. That's all I've learned. Like, I mean, and then just investing in the best, simple pieces. Exactly.
B
What about your jeans?
A
Vintage from. These ones are from. What's the store called Next to Opposite Ear One.
B
Rlt.
A
Rlt.
B
We talk about RLT on the. On the pod all the time. Because it's just so good.
A
Yeah.
B
I don't think there are a lot of great vintage stores in LA that, like, just offer great basics. Scout's a good one. Especially if you walk right into Scout. They actually have a whole pile of teas and tanks. If you ever want to check it out. It's great. But I feel like all the vintage stores are, like, all specialty, like, gowns, vintage jewelry. It's like, what if I just want a great vintage button down, a great vintage pair of jeans? RLT is everything.
A
They've got really good tees.
B
Oh, the best.
A
Like, they've made their own Tees.
B
So she has her own line within the store now called rlt.
A
Yeah.
B
And she's made like the perfect black mini dress, black cardigan, black tank, black tea. And I wouldn't be surprised if she keeps going. I think there's a black pair of pants that's really great. Co sign that, like, I'm. I'm obsessed with everything there.
A
Yeah. Love.
B
Yeah. I think for me. And like something I noticed with your wardrobe too. It's like I always want to be in something kind of simple but comfortable. Like I'm in Reformation jeans and like a theory knit top. But like it's everything that you put with it that shows your personal style about a great scrunchie.
A
I think you're really good at making a whole outfit, though.
B
Oh, thanks.
A
Like, I actually go onto your Instagram if I want to feel elevated. Yeah.
B
Why?
A
Because I'm not good at. I'm not good at putting an elevated look together. I'm good at, like the casual day to day.
B
Okay.
A
But I'm not the best at a formal event.
B
Evening wear. Yeah, evening wear is hard.
A
You. You do it really well, though.
B
Thank you. I really appreciate that. That means a lot because I'm often on your page, so I'm glad that we swap places.
A
And I feel like you're good at neutrals, browns.
B
You know how everybody's doing, like the color theories. I haven't done that yet, but I've really noticed that browns feel right on me. And like, I'm actually very into right now. I feel like we had that whole era of like dressing monochrome and very into taking one tone and wearing a bunch of different shades from it. I feel like that looks really interesting, but your eye still reads it as one color, but it still adds like a little bit of something different. Like it's multi layered, it's multifaceted. It's not just like that simple one tone. I don't know. I think everybody should find that. That color, whether it's beiges, maybe it's like grays and blacks. Like finding that one color that feels like your comfort color that you can just kind of mess around in when you have an off day and don't know where to start.
A
Yeah.
B
Highly recommend. Highly recommend.
A
I need help. Next time. I'll FaceTime you next time.
B
Oh, please. I feel like you should try greens.
A
What's greens? I thought that was a place. No, love greens. Love browns.
B
Yeah. Like, even now, like your sweater, I feel like if I saw you in like different tones of that, I'd be. Especially because your eyes have a little bit in it. Like, my eyes are just, like, straight chocolate brown, and I feel like that's maybe what helps again. The eyes, the hair, the scrunchie.
A
I know.
B
Part of it.
A
Yeah.
B
Why do you think scrunchies are so big right now? What do you think it is? Like, all the hair accessories.
A
You wear a hairband every day.
B
Oh, God.
A
Or on your wrist?
B
I hope not.
A
No, but you have to.
B
Yes.
A
It's nice to make something that you need every day look elevated, and especially if you can use that and make your outfit that's super simple elevated.
B
I mean, even when you came in and this white scrunchie on your wrist looked so good.
A
I know. Like, it's really, like an accessory for me as well.
B
It looked like it was just part of your outfit. And like, even now with your French tip nails, like, it matches and it's so great.
A
Thanks. Yeah. And it's so funny because, I mean, this might be mean, but I'm now. Now that I've started a hair brand, I'm judging everything when I see someone else's products. Although I'm also taking note if there's a really good one. I'm taking note. But, yeah, I mean, some bad ones.
B
Out there for sure. Some cheaply made ones, some ones that aren't good. But I feel like hair accessories are everything. They're everywhere.
A
Yeah.
B
Like, we went from. I feel like it became a new canvas, like, two years ago that everyone was so excited to jump on.
A
0 to 100.
B
0 to 100. Whether it was scrunchies, clips, like, clips came back out of nowhere. That was so not something I expected. Or even, like, I've seen a lot of, like, the ponytails, like, the jewel, like, hair jewelry.
A
Oh, yeah, I've seen that too.
B
Those are so. I don't know what I was just doing with my hands. I was trying to describe hair jewelry. Sorry, guys. But, like, I was even that I love, and I think it's so fun. I'm excited for you.
A
Me too.
B
It's great.
A
It's been a. It's been fun.
B
Anything we can look forward to next year, New products?
A
We have already things coming.
B
That's exciting.
A
Just. Yeah. The perfect version of something that's coming out next year.
B
I will leave. I will let you be discreet on that one. Thank you for not being discreet on everything else.
A
Yeah, it's hard.
B
She's stressing out over there. She's like, I just sold my soul to the. Let's get dressed, fans.
A
At least to live.
B
Oh, you're the sweetest. Thanks for coming on the show. This is so fun.
A
Thanks for having me.
