The following podcast is a Dear Media Production hi guys, welcome back to another episode of let's Get Dressed. It's your host, Lip Perez. I hope you're having a great Monday or whatever day it is. I know a lot of you like to listen to this podcast throughout the week, maybe on your commutes, walks, whatever it is. So I hope you're having a great day, whatever day it is. I love listening to podcasts on Mondays. And that's actually why I chose to release this pod on Mondays is because I have this habit that I've included in my routine that has changed the way that I set myself up for the week ahead. And that's that every Monday morning, which by the way, yes, is the most chaotic time of the week in my opinion. Monday mornings are pure chaos. I set aside an hour to sit at my computer completely uninterrupted and just do what I like to call like a media debrief. I will read Women's Wear Daily. I'll read Business of Fashion. I'll read the New York Times Style section. I'll listen to Vogue's podcast. And it's become one of my favorite habits because it sets me up for the week ahead in such an inspiring way. I have so many ideas and thoughts and things that I want to talk about and share, and I found that carving out that hour is different than like any other way that I've consumed news in the past. I used to read the news on the subway on my way to work and that felt really chaotic. I don't know how I processed any of that information. It was like sensory overload. So I've really enjoyed carving out that time for me to just be like, alone with the news and not have other things going on. I'm also a big walker, so I'll listen to podcasts on my walk, but I still feel like that is chill and still a very, like, conducive environment for me to take in information. If you have not incorporated that into any of your weekly routines, highly recommend it. It is such a great way to start your week. Anyways, the reason I'm bringing this up is because there was something I saw last week that I wanted to share because we have talked about this a lot on the podcast and that was the news that broke last week that Mytheresa was buying Yuke's Net A Porter. Mytheresa, if you're unfamiliar with the platform, it is a luxury E retailer. They've really been growing in the United States, I'd say in the last few years. I'm a Mytheresa shopper, mainly because it's for us, it is for the fashion person. Like a lot of the times when you see a collection go down the Runway or, you know, a collection go to market, retailers won't buy the full collection if they. I don't think it's going to resonate with their audience. And my Teresa has done such a good job of curating a platform that is for fashion people. It's definitely luxury, a little bit more expensive. But I will say I even love window shopping on there. Such a good curation. So it's really big news that this company that is, you know, still growing in the Americas just bought probably the biggest retailer here, which is Net A Porte. A little clarity on the deal. They're still going to remain separate entities. You're still going to be able to shop on my Teresa and you're still going to be able to shop on Net A Porte. But I think one thing that I'm most excited about to think about long term and something that you guys should think about maybe throughout the week as your bit of news is that in this kind of e commerce war, you know, we're, we're, we're seeing so many E commerce platforms fall flat. They're needing to be bought out, they're needing to get rid of their inventory. Really hard to survive because so many popped up. I actually never thought about the possibility that there would just be one left that would own them all. You know, when we look at brands, we have lvmh, the massive conglomerate that owns so many brands from like Celine, Dior, Loro, Piana, Loewe, Louis Vuitton or the luxury group Kering, which owns Gucci, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent. I never thought about that being a possibility for retailers. Is Mytheresa preparing itself to be the LVMH of retailers, And I think right now is a really good opportunity to do that. I feel like 20 years ago when we were shopping more in person, we all had alliances of where we shopped at. You know, you were either a Neiman's, you were a Bloomies person, you were a Saks person, and we don't have that today. I feel like when we're shopping, we're all just looking for the platform that has our item in stock or that has the best price. So I do think there's an opportunity for the landscape to change and for maybe some of that loyalty and affinity for one place to come back. Curious to see how this shapes up down the line. Huge, huge, huge merger. The two biggest luxury platforms coming together is really going to shake up the landscape. I love talking about news on the show because a lot of you will DM me and share your ideas. So if you have any feedback or ideas or questions about this, slide into my DMs. Let's talk about it. I would love to hear your thoughts on this big change for the fashion industry. Okay, let's get into today's episode. If you are someone who has been an OG fan of my podcast, we're talking even in the friend of a friend days. And if you're still here, I love you. Hi. You definitely know how much I love a closet clean out. And believe it or not, we have not done an updated closet clean out episode since the let's Get Dressed era. And if you are new here, I'm so glad that you're here. Welcome to let's Get Dressed. But to get you up to speed, I am obsessed with cleaning out my closet. Granted. Disclaimer. I am in an industry where I get a lot of stuff. So for me, it's very therapeutic and it's how I stay organized. But in general, I do think it is so important for us to be going in our spaces, reassessing what we have and giving things a new home if we don't love them. And I can definitely say that I feel like at this point I'm an expert of cleaning out my closet. So I'm doing an updated episode today of the process. We're Going to get into the nitty gritty. I'm going to share with you guys some of my favorite items and things that I need in my closet to keep me organized. Especially on those days when I have no idea what to wear and clothes are everywhere, they're on the floor, I have no idea what to do. These are the things that save me. So first, let's chat a little bit about cleaning out our closets. In general, I'm a big believer that you should be cleaning out your closet once a year. I had someone on the podcast a few episodes ago who said every six months. And for some of you, if you are someone who is shopping a lot and getting a lot of things that might work for you, all the power to you. I'm a big believer in at least once a year. The reason I say once a year is because you have all four seasons, no matter where you live. It gives you the opportunity to one, of course, buy new things if that's something you like to do every season. But two, really, as you're cleaning out your closet, it gives you the opportunity to look and make sure that you've at least worn everything within that year. If you haven't, it's probably time to give it a new home. If it's winter season and you wear maybe one or two coats but you have like five others that you didn't touch, it's probably time to give those a new home. The one exception I will say to this rule is if you are someone who is a fashion aficionado, you have archive, you have pieces that are really, really, really special that you're keeping for down the line, whether for your own use, for your kids, whatever it is, those are the exception to the rule. Like my wedding dress isn't going anywhere. Obviously this is really just for your everyday wardrobe and things that you are looking at on a day to day basis. I will say for a lot of people cleaning out your closet is deeply overwhelming. And I get that. Where do you start? How do you do it? Where does the stuff go? It kind of feels like a mini move in its own way. Like you're really taking all the stuff out and putting it back in and it's definitely disorienting. So my first piece of advice with that is make the time and the space for it. I have had moments where things in my house aren't organized and I will randomly decide to dump everything out of my closet and do a clean out. Really don't recommend that because then I've just made myself Ten times more stressed. I really recommend finding a time in your schedule. Maybe it's a Saturday or Sunday that you have off whatever it is, and dedicating the whole day to the activity. That way you're not rushing. Oh, God. I started to do this out of nowhere, and now I have to get ready for dinner, but all my clothes are everywhere. You really need to make the time and space for this activity. Second piece of advice there is do it with a buddy. I now don't do it with a buddy because I feel like I've gotten very good at it. But in those beginning times, have a sibling come over, have a friend come over. I also offer one on ones, so if you need someone to help out, they're on my Instagram. I will put them in my stories as well so you guys see them when this episode comes out. The one on Ones in the past were very style oriented, but I've really opened them up to kind of be anything. Need career advice? You want me to help you clean out your closet? I'm so here for you. That hour is really for whatever you guys want it to be. So if that is cleaning out your closet and you need a buddy and you need someone to say, yes, no, maybe, let's see if we can tailor that and make it better. I am here for you guys. I offer them for a full hour. And again, I'll put it in my stories. But so we're finding a time in the schedule where it's not going to feel chaotic. We're inviting someone over, and I've always found that making an event out of it is really fun. I'm sure a lot of you have seen that episode of Sex in the City where Carrie's cleaning out her closet. Now, you don't need to bring like the keep get rid of signs. Like, they had. Like, that's a little. It's very tv. But I do think having friends over and saying, hey, like, if there's stuff you guys want in exchange for you guys spending time or even like, hey, come do it for me and I'll come to your house and help you clean out yours, I think that's a really great strategy and makes it so much easier. The first time I did it, I had a friend over who is very definitive, very opinionated, and it was great because she helped me get rid of a lot. Like, I think I got rid of 10 bags of clothes because she was like, I've never seen you wear that. That doesn't fit you. Right? I'm sorry. I Love you, but that's really ugly. So having someone there to give you that outside perspective I think is important. Of course, if there are things you love, you don't always have to listen to your friends. But I still think it's fun to make a moment out of it. So, okay, we've gotten to the day of you're looking around your closet. Where do you start? My current closet setup, I have five wardrobes, and each of them are organized by style. I had a follower the other day reach out to me and ask, hey, I have my closet organized by color, but I'm having a really hard time getting dressed every day. What do you advise? And I actually responded to her and said, hey, is your entire closet organized by color, or are you organized by color in the specific styles? And she said, no, my whole closet from start to finish is by color. Don't recommend doing that, because I don't think as humans, we actually get dressed like that. I think we say, okay, let's start with a pant, or let's start with a jacket. The way that I like to get dressed every day is picking one piece and building an outfit around that. Maybe it's a new pair of shoes you got. Maybe it's a pair of jeans you haven't worn in a while. I think, instinctively, that's how we all get dressed. There's usually something we're excited, excited to wear, and we make a world around that piece. So by organizing your closet by style, by jackets, pants, shirts, dresses, you're going to have an easier time finding things and knowing where to start versus if you're just looking at a whole row of color, and then you're kind of sifting through the color categories to find that item. So it's the day of the cleanout. You're here, you're ready, you're sitting in your closet, you're staring at your closet, wherever it is, however big it is, and you don't know where to start. The first thing I want you to do is to make three very distinct sections in your space of where you're going to put things. And again, this can be like baskets or it can just be on the floor. Sometimes I have, like three different chairs in the area, but you're going to make three different sections. Keep, donate, or sell, depending on what you guys like to do or needs fixing. The needs fixing part, pretty obvious. This is the section for the items that maybe need a little tailoring. Maybe it's something you got a while ago that you haven't put on because it needs to be tailored, hemmed, nip, tucked, whatever it is, we're going to get all that done. This is the chance for you to revamp your wardrobe. And actually what I found with so many people, when they come to me or even myself and I'm like, g, I hate everything in my closet. I have no idea what to wear is buying something new usually isn't going to fix that, but it's going back in your wardrobe and seeing what you have and what you haven't actually made fit or work that really is going to make all the difference. So you're going to make space for those three piles. Now, this next part might scare you guys off from this completely, but I have tried so many different ways of cleaning out and I can say that this is the best way. You're going to pick one section, which also is really good. Again, if you are very overwhelmed and you don't want to do the whole closet in one day, maybe you can do pants or shirts, whatever it is, and then do jackets, everything else another day. But you're going to take one section and take the entire thing out of the closet. So I usually like to start with my shirts. I take all of my shirts out and put them wherever you can. Put them on the bed, put them on a chair, wherever it is. And you're going to try on every single piece. Collective gasp. I know, it's definitely a labor intensive thing, guys. I didn't say this would be easy, but it is definitely rewarding. I promise if you do it this way, you will look at your closet with whole new eyes. You're going to try on every piece for a few reasons. One, if you are doing this yearly, you want to make sure that item still fits. You want to make sure it's still your style. And then you also want to make sure that there's no stains on it, no tears. It doesn't need to be tailored. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten something new. Put it in my closet. It needs to get tailored. I forget that it needs to get tailored. And then it just sits there and I never wear it. So this is the opportunity for you to take all those items out, head to the tailor, head to your dry cleaner, and make sure that your closet is filled with things that you can actually wear. So try on everything, make sure it fits, make sure you like it, and then you're going to sort it into those three piles. Keep, donate, fix. And another thing that I really like about this way of Cleaning out your closet is there are a lot of pieces that I feel like pile up in our closets that we like as a piece but actually don't go with our wardrobe. Like, one time I had something that was a really bright color and I found myself never wearing it. And it was because I couldn't figure out how to match it with other things in my closet. It just wasn't the right colorway for me. And so when I actually tried it on, I was able to be like, this doesn't work. Like, I love it, but it doesn't really work with other things in my that I have in my closet. And I'm never reaching for it. So I'm going to give it a new home. One thing I recommend when you're putting pieces back in your closet is how we hang our clothes makes the world of a difference of how that piece of clothing keeps its shape. When it's hanging there on a hanger the whole time, it has the opportunity to stretch or get a little lopsided if you have it lopsided on the hanger. So for shirts with zippers, shirts with buttons, shirts with ties, I always recommend buttoning it all the way up to the top, making sure the ties are tied so that when you reach for it in a couple of weeks, it's not all messed up. Especially for button ups. This is really important. It is literally the bane of my existence doing this. It is so tedious. And I actually could tell you right now if I opened my wardrobe that I have a button down that's not buttoned up, hard to maintain. But I do recommend when you are cleaning out the closet to at least try to do that to keep the shape of your shirts. And the same tip goes for jackets, by the way, when you're putting jackets back in your closet, zip them up, button them at the top. It really helps them keep their shape. One more thing. Before you start putting clothes back, make sure you clean down the area. I feel like the corners of closets are like, known for just getting all that dust and especially where your shoes are. So give it a little wipe down, throw a Lysol wipe in there, and just make sure you're putting your clothes back into a clean space. One last little thing I like to do as I'm putting my clothes back in my closet on Amazon, I buy these little like lavender satchels that I hang all around my closet. It makes everything smell so good and so fresh, and I really like that smell as I'm like opening up the drawers so that's a nice little thing. Also really great for, like, the underwear, T shirt, athletic wear, drawers that, you know, those fabrics tend to hold on to smell. So really good to add those in there as well. So you're going to do this for all of your sections. And again, really go through and make sure that as you're looking at clothes that it's something that you're wearing. Something that I noticed that I was doing wrong last time I was cleaning out my closet, or not so much doing wrong, but I had a bad habit of is, like, I had like, four pairs of white pants. And thank God I had a friend here because she was able to point it out. She was like, why do you have that many white pants? Like, can you just have two really good ones? Like, one that's great for sneakers, one that's great and dressy. Like, do you really need all of these? And I think that's another really good tip. If you're having a hard time getting rid of things, you really don't need three white vests or like four, five brown sweaters. Keep the ones that you're wearing a lot and give those all the love. So you've gone through your closet. You've tried everything on. You've had the friends here. You've had to make really tough decisions, but it's starting to feel really good. You're getting excited. You're putting things back in. One of my favorite closet tips that I learned this year was a new way of hanging pants that has changed the game for me, and that is using baby hangers instead of adult hangers. I really noticed in my pants wardrobe that when I had adult hangers, the pants obviously are shorter than the actual hanger itself. So something that I was noticing was that the pants were sliding to one side of the hanger, and then the hangers were crooked in the closet. And every time I opened the closet, it just looked really messy. And also, my pants were being folded a little bit weird because of that. And I would notice, like, weird seams or weird fold lines. So I learned this little trick on TikTok. I ordered baby hangers on Amazon. They're going to be linked on my shop my along with everything else we talk about in this episode. And it so perfectly fits the length of a pant so that they aren't moving around when they're hanging in your closet. This has made me stay ten times more organized. My pants cabinet looks so good every time I open it, and my pants are so perfectly folded. Also, when you're hanging pants, make sure that that crotch section that is a little bit more bulky is going in the back of your closet, not in front because it will look a lot more organized and also there's more space in the back than there is in the front. It won't get as clumpy and that's how you get that very organized pants look. So definitely order baby hangers. My favorite tip of the year and it has truly changed my closet. I'm obsessed with opening up my cabinet and seeing the way that these pants hang. It's stunning. You guys are going to love this. A quick break from closet cleanout Talk to Talk about one of my favorite topics of 2024 and that is wedding season. If you're deep in wedding season like I was earlier this year and you're the bride, a bridesmaid, or just a guest, I have a brand that's going to save the day. If you're looking for something to wear, which so many of you have been asking me for in my weekend amas, it's a brand called Birdie Gray and they have the cutest budget friendly dresses that are perfect for any wedding vibe. A question I've been getting asked a lot lately is hey Liv, I have a friend's wedding coming up and I need something under 200 and boy do I have a surprise for you. Because all of their bridesmaids dresses start at just $99 and each one is designed meticulously with fabric, fit and color in mind. What I really love about the brand is there are so many options for everybody, especially when it comes to colors. They have neutral champagnes, soft blues, bright gemstones and high end dresses like chiffon, one shoulder with a long train to a cross halter, satin in an oversized floral print. This is honestly the go to if you're on the hunt and especially in a pinch with so many fall weddings coming up. But Birdie Gray again isn't just about bridesmaids dresses. They also have an incredible collection of little white dresses for all my soon to be brides and PJs for all the girls. Perfect for the bridal suite and getting ready for the big day. While we're cleaning out our closets, there's truly no time like the present to fill it with amazing high quality pieces that you know your kids are going to use for a really long time. While I know this sounds really overwhelming, I promise you there is no better feeling than putting all the clothes back in your closet, looking around and knowing that you have a wardrobe filled with things that you really love and wear. Also, I noticed that it is so much easier for me to get dressed on a daily basis when the closet isn't crowded. There are items with tags. There's things that I need to get tailored. There are things I haven't worn. After I clean out, I feel like I dress so much better and I cannot wait for you guys to feel that exact same feeling. It's also a good opportunity for you to see the things that you need in your closet. The last time I cleaned out my closet I kept a notepad on my desk and a running list of things that I was like, oh, wait, I don't have a good black boot with a low heel. I actually don't have a white jean right now. I really need a good new black sweater or even that piece that maybe had a stain on it. I had a white button down last time that I loved that I had to get rid of because it, like, frayed at the bottom wasn't doing great. So I needed to go and replace that. This is the perfect time for you to make that list of items, especially with the holidays coming up, of things that you need in your closet. And as you get rid of things, it's more exciting to fill it with things that you actually need. I actually remember last time I cleaned up my closet, I really wanted this bag. I had it on my wish list, and instead of buying the bag, I actually thought about the list of items that I had of things that I need for, like, my everyday dressing. And I was like, you know what? I'm not gonna buy that, like, impulse purchase. And I'm gonna buy these other things that I know that I need for my everyday dressing to go smoother and for me to feel better. So now that everything's back in the closet, I want to talk about a few organizational pieces in my closet that have made the world of a difference in keeping me organized and maintaining the amount of work that you just did to get your closet organized. We talked about the baby hangers, which are absolutely crucial. Best purchase I made this year. We talked about the lavender little satchels that make your closet smell really good. I highly recommend having a great jewelry organizer and everybody has a different place for their jewelry. I have a lot of friends that have a jewelry box, like, on their nightstand. I have friends who kind of keep it in a big bowl or like an acrylic organizer. I really like having an accessories drawer if it's something you're able to, you know, make in your life. Maybe it's your nightstand, maybe it's in your desk at home, wherever it is. I really like having kind of that pull out drawer. And one side of it is all of my sunglasses and one side of it is a flat organizer that I got on Amazon. Every earring, every necklace has its own home in the organizer. And it's really helpful to be able to see it all. Definitely recommend doing that and being able to see everything. Also for necklaces and bracelets, it's so important for them to not get all kind of like, clumped together. So if you can do a drawer, do that. And if not, find a place in your bathroom, closet, nightstand to house your jewelry in a way where you can see everything and you know what you have and you're excited to put it on. I live in Los Angeles, as you guys know, so I don't always have a need for my winter clothes to be out and about. I'm also a skier, so I have a lot of that gear in my closet. I have these white boxes that are above the wardrobes in my closet and I really love utilizing those for either extras. In my closet, for example, I have like an extra pair of white sneakers in case mine get too dirty. All of my ski gear, my gloves, my scarves, all that kind of stuff, I don't keep out and about in my closet on my day to day because I know I don't need them with where I live. So I like to keep them in these white linen boxes that are above my wardrobe. I love these specifically because they're esthetically really nice, but also they hold a lot. And again, it's nice to not have that in the clutter of my day to day dressing. Really recommend if you're in a place where, you know, even if you do have winter clothes and you're living in a cold area, to be able to have those boxes to kind of rotate out summer and winter items. I have a lot of sarongs and like extra bathing suits that sometimes I don't need, so they go up there as well. Especially if you're working with a small space. Like you should really just have the items that you're wearing on a day to day as well as a few special items in front of you. If you're able to use that extra storage for things that you're not using all the time, really recommend it because it will make it easier for you to get dressed. Like you don't need to see everything you have every morning. That feels really overwhelming. My last tip for organizers in your closet is a bag organizer. This one is crucial for me because before I had it, I felt like my bags were just everywhere. And I actually was really noticing that the quality of my bags was going down because they were all just lying on top of each other. They weren't upright. I have these acrylic organizers from Amazon that I love. They kind of look like dish organizers, to be honest. They might be, but I put my small bags in them. I stuff my bags first to help keep the shape and then I put them in the Organizers in a row on the shelves in my wardrobe. Again, I really like doing something that helps keep the shape of the bags and also helps me see them really clearly. If they're all just piled on top of each other or like hanging on top of each other, that is always really tough. If you don't have the shelf space, I would recommend getting one of those hanging systems that goes on the back of the door. They have them kind of in different rows so you can see the bags very well. And again, they won't be piled on top of each other. I think for compact spaces, visibility is really important. So I always recommend finding something that still allows you to visually see it all without having to smush it all in. Last tip. And something that I am learning right now as my travel is kicking up a lot. I feel like I've been on a plane every two, three weeks. Recently when I pack, I pack my shoes individually in like little dust bags. And recently I was on a trip where I took a carry on and I have a pair of Manolo Blahnik pumps, pointed toe that I love and they unfortunately got smushed in the carry on and now have this very unfortunate bend to them. And so something that I've become very passionate about both in our closet and in the way we pack is to get these things on Amazon. They're called shoe trees and they're pretty much shape holders for your shoes. I recommend them when you pack because you don't want what happened to me to happen to you. I'm still able to wear those Manolos but I will probably have to replace them probably I'd say in the next year or so because they really lost that shape. But I really recommend them in your closet at all times so that your shoes aren't getting smushed. That also applies for knee high boots if you have them. If you don't want to buy something new, honestly, like I just stuff mine with like packing paper or like bubble wrap that I've gotten from things like it doesn't need to be fancy. They do have like boot trees. They're literally called boot trees on Amazon where you can stuff them with something nice, but if you don't want to buy something for $25, just stuff them with whatever you have to keep that shape because the last thing you want are these shoes that you've invested in to lose that shape or like have that bend in the weather. Again, as I mentioned earlier, all of these ideas are in my shop. My plus more I'm going to add A lot more for you guys too. Especially because we all have different shape closets. Whether you're in a compact space or you have a bigger space, you'll find a solution for everything in this shop. I lived in New York style apartments with New York style closets for a long time, actually. I remember when I was in college, I had to put, I put like shelves on the wall next to my bed for my shoes. So I would wake up every day to like my shelf of shoes. And I got really creative with the way that I stored my clothes. So. So I really feel like I've gone through it all in terms of closets and how to make your clothes last and especially work for you. If you get through this episode and you do this at home, please shoot me a DM and show me your before and after space again. I am so passionate about cleaning out your closet because it has changed my life in so many ways and it's kept me excited about the clothes that I already have. It's helped me not impulse buy things and it's helped me be a lot more thoughtful about what I have in my closet. So if you do it yourself, please let me know. I want to know how you guys do if you do end up with a really big pile of clothes even after you've offered your friends who have helped you clean out for the day whatever pieces they want from the pile. There are so many great places where you can give your clothes a second home. I drop off clothes all the time at the Goodwill and Salvation Army. Great places that are really in need of clothes. I also am interested in recycling programs. If you guys have tried any in your area, please DM me and let me know so I can share them. I have heard of a platform called Trashy where they send you a take back bag, you get a QR code to scan to get a free shipping label and they'll take it back and recycle your clothes for you. I have not tried this yet, so I don't know it 100%. But if you are in this community and you have tried it, please let me know so I can share it with our audience. I also know that if you are a reformation shopper, they have a recycling program. They have a program called Ref Recycling and they will take your old clothes and you can actually get store credit for new ref. So that's a really fun one if you're looking to sell your clothes. I've used Crossroads in the past and think they're great as well as places like Realreal of course Depop and Vestier are places where you can sell your items yourself as well. So if you are looking at a big pile, there are so many options, please don't just throw it away. There are so many places and people that need new clothes and you can give them a new home. As always with all of my Episodes if you guys have any questions or you want to chat about this, my DMs are always open to you. If you follow me on Instagram, you notice that I've been doing ask me anythings on the weekends. I will put a question box up on my Instagram stories on Saturday morning and answer all of your questions throughout the weekend. So if you have any follow ups to this or maybe you want advice on that new thing to put in your closet, feel free to submit a question. I do my best to get to all of them, but if I don't get to yours, please know I'm not ignoring you. There are so many that come in and I really do my best to get to as many as I can. If I don't answer them publicly, I will usually try my best throughout the week to get to them in DMS and DM you directly. And if I do miss you, please DM me and bump it back up. I never intentionally want to miss them. I hope you guys learned something new. I know the process can be daunting, but I hope this conversation inspired you to take the plunge. This routine involves consuming fashion news from reputable sources like Women's Wear Daily and Vogue's podcast, highlighting the importance of staying informed in the fast-paced fashion industry.
Before diving into closet organization, Liv shares significant news impacting the fashion retail landscape: MyTheresa's acquisition of Net-A-Porter (05:45). Liv reflects on the potential for increased brand loyalty and a more curated shopping experience, emphasizing how this consolidation might reshape consumer behavior in e-commerce.
"I never thought about the possibility that there would just be one left that would own them all… Is Mytheresa preparing itself to be the LVMH of retailers?" (09:15)
Transitioning from industry news to personal wardrobe management, Liv underscores the necessity of regular closet cleanouts. She advocates for an annual review, aligning the process with seasonal changes to ensure wardrobes remain relevant and functional.
