We love the chodies in this house.
B
Ugh. Stop.
A
I really wanted to do today's episode as, like, a sporty girl's guide to getting dressed every day. I feel like being an athlete teaches you so much about your body.
B
Yeah, I went through a phase with my oura ring, and I just haven't put it back on. Apple watch, to me is such tears.
A
How do you handle that? If you are someone who is, like, running in the morning, have to get to the office, going for drinks at
B
night, I run Club Bites. Run Club. I'm just gonna throw up a story and host a run tomorrow in Central park. And, like, 150 girls showed up. Wow. Which was crazy. And it was the first one, and it just filled my cup so much.

B
Thank you for having me.
A
We love the chodies in this house.
B
Stop.
A
We do. We had your sister on last year, and I just.
B
I adore her. She's the best.
A
She came to my house. It was a very fun day.
B
Oh, I love that. Yeah.
A
So how are you? Tell me, how has summer been?
B
I'm good. Summer's been good. I feel like it's already so busy, and I also, like, can't believe that June is, you know, already deep. We're deeply within it, and I don't know, it hasn't really hit me yet, but I'm excited. I'm going on a little trip later this month and just enjoying things like, as they happen.
A
Where are you going?
B
I'm going to Switzerland and Croatia, so.
A
Wow.
B
I know.
A
With friends.
B
With friends, Yeah.
A
I feel like you guys master the friends trip.
B
Thank you.
A
Every time I see you guys traveling, I'm like, yeah, they have it on lock.
B
I'm super excited. I've never been to Croatia, so I'm pumped.
A
I haven't either, but I. More and more recently, I feel like I have friends that are choosing Croatia over, like, Italy vibes because it's just a bit off the beaten path. A lot of people went after my wedding and said it was like unbelievable. Oh, really?
B
Where'd you get married?
A
At Soho Farmhouse in England. And so they just like popped right over.
B
Beautiful. And said it was great. My best friend, so the one who I'm going to, one of the ones I'm going to Switzerland with is at Oxford right now. And so I'm so excited to go visit her and hopefully go to Soho farmer, do all the things like countryside. I don't even know if it's close, but I'm just assuming from Oxford. Yeah, yeah.
A
It's like two hours.
B
Yeah, it has to be.
A
Yeah, yeah, it's great. That's definitely a trip you should do. There's like a lot to do over there. Obviously. There's so house. Some people will go to Estelle Manor. There's a designer outlet mall called Bicester Village.
B
I have heard of that.
A
Yes.
B
I need to go.
A
Yes.
B
Yeah.
A
I'm dying. It's crazy. I didn't go the numerous times that I was there planning the wedding.
B
Yeah, you were busy.
A
I was busy. But like I need to go just to do like a trip and experience it.
B
Yeah. Especially cuz I feel like I don't normally like shop till I drop when I'm in London because obviously like the. That you don't get the tax free as you do in other places.
A
The girl math facing my shopping around that.
B
But I do want to go to those outlets really badly cuz I've heard great things.
A
So there's good ones outside of Florence too.
B
Yes. Also I've heard that in Florence is my favorite city. But that's also something that I've never done when I'm there. Right.
A
Like what are we doing?
B
Like, I don't know.
A
Is it just because now we're like more aware as adults to like incorporate the outlets. Like why do I go to Palm Springs and not stop at the outlets? Right.
B
Yeah. I need to bake it into the next itinerary.
A
For sure. For sure. Okay, so we like to open up every show with a segment called Receipts. Okay, so tell me, what's the most recent thing you bought?
B
Ooh, what a good question. I mean, I think it has to be one of my bags, but I don't know which one.
A
You have a good bag collection.
B
Thank you so much.
A
You walked in today with like a gorgeous andiamo and I was like, wow.
B
Yeah, that's actually one of my favorite designer purchases. I don't think it was like the most expensive, but it's the east west on Diamo in a lovely blue. And I'm like always drawn to the color blue, so I'd say it was. It's probably like one of my bags, but I can't remember which was necessarily the most expensive. But I just. I love a good bag. It actually probably. I was just in Japan in March
A
and congratulations on your race, by the way.
B
Thank you so much. And I. For my post race gift to myself, I bought a pistachio suede Chanel. I honestly wish I brought it instead of the andiamo. It is so beautiful. I mean, it was a great price because it's obviously like secondhand and vintage, but I think that's probably the most expensive thing that I bought.
A
What shape was it? What style is it?
B
It's a flat bag.
A
Oh, just a classic shoulder. Classic shoulder pistachio.
B
That's suede pistachio. Yeah.
A
Killer.
B
Yeah. I mean, and I'm like, really drawn to that color. So I was immediately like, I clocked it the first time I went into this stor and I bought like two less expensive bags that time. And I said, if I run the race, I want to run, I'm coming back for that one. And I did.
A
So good motivation in that race.
B
Exactly. Exactly.
A
I would be running my heart out. I love that.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. Where did you get it?
B
In Japan, it's called Hive. Pre loved. It's a showroom and so it's not like one of the. Because everyone goes to like, Amore. I feel like. Yeah. And those are like, I went into just to, you know, go and see what they had. But Hive had like, a very cool, like, I don't want to say like, more. More curated because that's not. But like, more like funky collection. I feel like, of like a lot of Fendi baguettes and good stuff.
A
Have you been wearing it a lot?
B
Yeah.
A
I feel like you're good with color.
B
Yeah, I love. I love my color.
A
Do you find yourself investing in bags more that are like, bright colors or like the classic, like, black brown?
B
I have more colorful bags than class classics. Like, I have. I have a black Prada Cleo that's like my go to for going out.
A
Such a good bag.
B
It's such a good bag.
A
A big size over the shoulder or
B
like a small over the shoulder.
A
So good classic.
B
Yeah. And so that one, like, I consistently reach for. And then I have a great, like, bota pouch, the large pouch in white. And so I like, have those. But other than that, like, I have a lot of more like Pop of color. Great bags that I like to reach for. Cuz I feel like I wear color like during the day but if I'm going out, like I of kind, kind of always keep it more simple. And then I like that I have like a fun bag to throw on.
A
That's really cute. I know I need to buy more like colored bags. I was looking at my closet the other day and I was like, you have enough black bags, right? But I just like the girl. Math in my mind is like, oh, you'll wear it more and more and more.
B
Exactly.
A
But I do think being able to like invest in a fun color.
B
Yeah.
A
It just like makes your personal style a lot better. It's like that bag becomes part of the wardrobe.
B
Yes, exactly. Like this, the andiamo I have like I. That's like my kind of like day to day bag that I just like run errands with. And like I just, I don't even care what I'm wearing. I bring that and like it works.
A
So cute.
B
I don't know if it works just because I make it work, but yeah.
A
So one thing I think that is really different about your style is you are extremely athletic. And it's something that I have like loved watching as a follower because I feel like you have this like effortless ease to your style that I do feel is really influenced by how well you know your body and how well you know to like, like move through the world. So I always really love the like athlete perspective on getting dressed every day. So I really wanted to do today's episode as like a sporty girl's guide to getting dressed every day. Because I know there are so many things that really impact how you show up in the world and what you choose to put on. But before we get into that, I kind of want to go back to the beginning and share with everybody how you even got started running.
B
Yeah, so I started when I was in seventh grade. I was always like athletic as a kid, but no sport really resonated with me. Like the tip typical like soccer, field hockey. Both my sisters were swimmers. I was fine at swimming, but I didn't love it. I decided I wanted to try running and cross country, so got into it in middle school, continued through high school and I really excelled and I committed to USC ultimately for cross country and track. I did my first marathon a little under a year after I graduated. It was March 2023 and I'd graduated the previous spring. And um, it ended up just going super well and I enjoyed it and the rest is kind of history because with that one, I qualified for Boston, which is like, a big thing in marathoning. So then I was like, okay, I guess I'll do Boston. And then it kind of just like, catalyzed from there.
A
I cannot run.
B
It's not for everyone. It's not.
A
I just, like, I wish I could, because as someone who travels a lot, I feel like it's such a beautiful way to see places that you travel to. The best is like, being able to get up before work or whatever it is, and going for a run.
B
Yeah.
A
I kind of. Sometimes I'm like, oh, my God, what a liberating feeling to just, like, go on a run.
B
Running in Paris is, like, favorite thing. I run tower. Like, it's. It's so fun. It's such a good way to see cities. I always say that, like, I. I too, though. Like, even though I am a runner, I'm a big proponent of, like, if it hurts, if you don't like it, like, just don't. You don't have to do it. Because I do think with social media, you know, you're seeing so many people run marathons, it feels like every other video is like a fucking marathon.
A
I don't want to say it's trending, because I feel like that's not really nice as people, like, train really hard for them. But, yeah, I do feel like there's been a huge surge.
B
It's a marathon.
A
Content, yes. Me. Is it because I follow you? I get.
B
No. But, like, I think that it's. I think social media has to do with it because, you know, it's like, just the exposure effect of, like, oh, this person did it. I bet I can, and whatever. Incredible, by the way. Like, it's amazing. I always, like, tell people if it's not sounding good, or you don't. Your body hurts, or it's just, like, you don't enjoy it. Like, you don't need to do it because it really isn't for everyone. And there are so many other amazing ways to work out and stuff. And I just think that it's good when you can, like, if you can accept, like, oh, that's not really for me, because there's nothing worse than, you know, making yourself run. You are miserable, you know, so.
A
So I'm sure being athletic has shaped a lot of the way that you perceive your body. Get dressed every day, move through the world. How has that been impactful on your personal style?
B
Yeah, definitely. I mean, I think that I'm not as big of A sneaker girl anymore as I used to be. But like, when sneakers, when dunks were like the thing, you know, like, I felt so good and like a good, like jean with a Nike dunk and like a cute little, like, baby. Like in college, like, that was really my wardrobe. And still to this day I have so many that I just like, don't reach for as much. Like, I'd rather wear like an Onitsuka tiger now and you know, things evolve. But I feel like there was really that phase in like the late 2010s and early 2000s where it was like, sneakers were like the shit. And like, I loved that because I feel like as an athlete, like, I'm comfortable in them. Like, oh, I can wear them out. And like Nike Air Forces. I like lived in, in college.
A
Yeah, I had so many colors. Like, I loved my Air Force ones. I loved my dunks. Like, I had so many off white sneakers. It was really a time and so
B
that was definitely an era that like, I just felt like I loved that I could kind of skew a little bit more athletic and like what I wore. And now I feel like it kind of depends. Like, I have so many, like, sweatshirts that I just like reach for. Like, I'm not someone who gets dressed every single day. I honestly, I wish I did, but I just, I don't. Like, I love a good sweatshirt and being able to see like a little cute like ankle sock and a tank top and like kind of just like calling that an outfit, like with a bag. And to me, like, if I'm running errands, that's what I'm reaching for. But I definitely think that, you know, with running and with athleisure and athletes are also becoming, you know, such a thing that you really can wear on a day to day. Like, I really love just like leading into that, which I think, you know, can be a blessing and a curse because my mom's like, put on jeans. Like, go get dressed. But I mean, it really is so cute though to throw on like a cute set and like, you know, go do my thing.
A
So I'm seeing a lot of sweatshirts lately. I'm not someone who would ever put one on, but I saw those free city ones and I was like, well,
B
yeah, so they're the long ones. And I, I like.
A
Oh, you're talking about like a cropped one.
B
I'm talking about like shorts. I don't, I don't. But like, I mean, there was a time, do you remember the mad happy
A
ones that were long oh yeah, those were like, people were wearing those all the time.
B
So those were like all very like Covid era. Yes, in like college, like 20, 19, 2020. So yeah, I, I've yet to invest in like a longer pair. I'm talking about like the cute, like sporty and rich makes a really cute like pair that I wear. So that kind of vibe, they're like short and cute and I can just like throw on and be comfy.
A
But I feel like being an athlete teaches you so much about your body. Yeah, I grew up dancing and it's interesting now, you know, as a 30 something year old getting dressed every day, there are so many moments where I reflect back on my dancing years and having gotten to know my body so well and it really impacts the way I put things on. Do you feel the same way?
B
Yeah, I mean, definitely. I also think that I still have like a very athletic build. So like, for example, I have quite muscular legs, you know, more than someone who hasn't been running for most of their life. And so that also, it definitely impacts how things also like look on me and stuff. And so I'm very cognizant of, you know, making sure that you kind of. I feel like everyone does this, but you know, what looks good and you know, what looks good with a muscular leg versus like, oh like that look is so cute. But you know, I don't think that it would be the most flattering on me and stuff like that. But I definitely do feel like I know my body well and have kind of learned over the years what accentuates, you know, what I have going on.
A
So I also think there's like a different level of confidence. Do you feel that way?
B
I feel super similarly actually. Yeah. Because I mean like just like what I said, you know, like I love my legs so much, they carry me all these miles. But like again, it's like those tiny little like micro shorts. Like, you know, I've worn them a few times but like I don't feel my best in them because I feel like it's like all quad, which is sick. I love my quads, but like do I want. You know what I mean? So I 100% agree. Like I have the confidence to kind of know how to like work around, you know, if I'm feeling insecure about something over another.
A
But what do you feel like you're putting on every day that's not like the sweatshirt. Like, if you want to look really good for like an elevated day to day, what are you putting on?
B
It's always like a cute. Not like super baggy, but baggy as she and similar to what I'm wearing. This is the frame Saturday jean.
A
They're very. I actually, when you walked in, I was like, those are very cute.
B
Thank you.
A
It's such a good color for you.
B
Thank you. I like the color. I like the fit. I never like when anything's like, too tight. So something like more relaxed. But then kind of like I said, like, I love a flip flop heel. Like, that's really my go to.
A
I'm wearing a flip flop, y'. All.
B
And where are those from? They're so cute.
A
These are by far. They make them in flats, too. And they have like. Like the base of them is like, pillowy. They're so.
B
And I like the wide heel too.
A
Yes. I wear them. I like, wore them all over New York City. They're so comfortable.
B
That's good to know. Yeah, I love a kitten he all. And then I typically love just like a good baby tee, a good, like, tank top that isn't too tight, but, like, flattering. And so that's like really my uniform. Like, if I'm going out with friends, like, I'm wearing an iteration of the outfit I just described and then one of my, like, fun bags.
A
So I love that you just said, you've said multiple times isn't too tight. I don't know what it is. I. I can't wear tight clothes anymore.
B
I can't. I can't.
A
I. I don't know what has happened, but, like, you won't catch me in a bodycon.
B
No.
A
You won't catch me in like a tight white T shirt.
B
No, I can't.
A
Obviously I'm not wearing skinny jeans.
B
Yeah.
A
What is that?
B
I don't know. For me, it's like a sensory thing and like, never wanting to feel like if I'm like, sitting down, I never want to feel like I'm like cutting off circulation. And I just would always, like, I'm always someone who's sizing up in things. And I also, like, say that to my followers. I'm like, don't look at the size. Like, just think of how it fits. Because I'd so much rather low key be swimming in something than it be too tight all like, every single time.
A
I also just feel like as I've gotten older, like, you really have a deeper understanding for how women's bodies change all the time. Like, sometimes I'm so much more bloated. Sometimes I'm on my period. Sometimes I'm like, And I just feel like anything tight ends up not getting worn.
B
Yeah.
A
Because I'm just like, I have pcos, so my stomach is always like a little bloated and I'm just like, I can't be wearing the tight things. Yeah. Like the high rise jeans don't work for me.
B
Yeah, no, like I'm good. I bought the Kate jeans and while I like liked how they looked on me, I ended up selling them because they were like a little too high and like it was even my right size. It's not that they were too tight, but I was just like feeling a little too claustrophobic and I was like, you know what, I'm not gonna wear these, so I'm gonna sell them.
A
No, comfort is key.
B
Yeah.
A
It's interesting because for an athlete, for someone who's running all the time, like gym clothes are all tight, which I hate.
B
Yeah.
A
Athletic clothes are all tight.
B
Yeah, that is true. I hadn't really thought about that. But a lot of my running shorts are like the ones with the built in underwear and then they're flowy but I race in like the skin tight because I like need the pocket on this and I know everything to be secure and stuff. So you are right on that. But that for some reason it just, it's okay in my mind.
A
It works.
B
It works, it works.
A
It's good motivation.
B
Yeah, exactly.
A
Okay, I want to get into some of your toolkit must have items because I do feel like you have, you probably have the most unbelievable arsenal of workout things. So tell me what your go to set is right now or outfit for working out.
B
So for running specifically, the Nike medium support swoosh sports bra is like a go to for me. I love it. It's just, it gets the job done. And then for shorts, any Nike like split shorts, I love, I also love all like the Lululemon shorts that. But those are also like, I order like kind of a size up. So if I'm running, it's stuff like that. And then I have just like so many random running tops. But again, Lululemon Athleta. Athleta also makes a great high impact size sports bra, especially if you have bigger boobs. So those are my running faves. So. But then if I'm going to Pilates and I'm wanting to look cute in a set, so I, I got a breast reduction last year, but I still have, you know, some boobs. And my one qualm with all these cute sets is you really can't run in them. Like they just do not. The support is not there.
A
They're for aesthetics.
B
Yes, they're for aesthetics, and which is amazing. So for those like, I love form. I love the material.
A
Sammy Clark. I haven't tried it.
B
Oh, you have to. Yeah. I really like their material. That's definitely the one I'm reaching for the most. Yeah. And randomly, Abercrombie makes really good sets, which a lot of people have no
A
idea about, but I'm not surprised. They're cute. Yeah. It's been fun to see all of the, like, matte kind of American state heritage brands rebrand.
B
I know.
A
I just tried an Old Navy set on recently, like a workout set, and I was very impressed by the material.
B
Oh, see, I didn't really know that needed workout. They have workout. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
I was like, wait, this really snatched me in all the right places. Like, really good fabric. But I want to try the Abercrombie one because I feel like they've done.
B
It's called, like, YPB or something. And yeah, they have. They have cute stuff. Love.
A
What about your favorite running shoes? Do you wear the same ones for running as you do for training? What are you living in?
B
Yeah. So I love the Nike Vomero 18S and the Vomero Plus. Okay. Romero plus is what I just designed my own, like, colorway.
A
Congratulations.
B
Thank you so much.
A
I saw you post that, and it took me back to being in high school and designing my own, like, Nike id. Right. I was like, oh, my God, that was such an era.
B
Yes. And I. When I went to Nike headquarters to meet with everyone and design the shoes and do other stuff, I literally was like, this is such a full circle moment. Because I did make Nike IDs when I was in high school. I begged my parents for them. One said Brett on the heel, the other said Jody. And I thought I was, like, the coolest bitch alive of all time.
A
If you had custom IDs, like, the cool, like, lining on the side is the coolest thing ever.
B
Yeah. Yeah. So it really took me back as well.
A
What was the experience like of designing your own shoe? Did you, like, go into it with, like, I want this exact colorway.
B
No. So I really didn't know, like, what my exact options were going to be. So they brought a bunch of, like, swatches of different colors and different, like, soles of the shoe. And we played around with the software, and I did, like, quite a few, like, rounds before we decided on what, like, the right one was. But I really wanted it to be it feel like me and look cool, but also not be like too over the top, but something that you wouldn't necessarily walk into a store and see. And so, yeah, we decided on like the magenta gradient base. And then I love, like pink and blue. Those are like my favorite colors. So we have some blue in there too. And so it was just like really cool and fun to be able to know that, like, oh, my God, anyone can go and buy these. So, I mean, dream come true. Honestly, my entire Nike partnership is just like super cool for me. So, yeah, I obviously love those and I train in them. And then I also love New Balance. They're 1080s, but I think they low key. Maybe discontinued them, I heard. So I don't really know if that's a viable recommendation, but those are great too.
A
What about go to spots? What are you reaching for all the time? Because I do feel like every time I see you post, I know, like, obviously you work from home a lot, but I feel like you're always in like the chicest company. Thanks.
B
I love my, like, comfy pants. Personal. So the Aritzia Tomorrow pants, they changed it and it's now marketed as pajamas. It's a pajama pant.
A
You're like, these pants that I wear all the time actually wear pajamas.
B
Yeah. But I promise you can wear them out. They are literally my favorite. They're ribbed and they don't have like a tie. It's just like a waistband and they're thin. And like, I have them in black. I have them in gray. I have them in like an off white. And I. You can. I love them because I can wear them with flats to Hillstone for dinner and I can also wear them on the plane. Like she said.
A
Hillstone.
B
Yeah. I mean, my favorite and true. Yeah, the best. But those I absolutely adore. And then I also love Lisette, so I have their Nando lounge pant that I love so much. And then also their Ariel pocket pant, which isn't really a sweat, but it's comfy.
A
So good.
B
Adore.
A
I have those and I wear them to bed and I think they're too. In my mind, they're like a little too heavy to wear to bed. Yeah, they're definitely more of like a day pack.
B
Yeah, there's a lot of.
A
At least for me. I'm five' four. There's a lot of fabric.
B
Yes.
A
I never got them tailored on the bottom. Yeah, they're like a great, like lounge pant. Not a sleep pant, not a plain pant. Just like Hanging around the house.
B
Yeah. But I, like, literally live in them. I just got them in white, too, because.
A
Are you. I'm almost 5 8, so they probably fit you perfectly.
B
Yeah, yeah. Because their stuff runs, like, long. Because, like, the Nando lounge pant is, like, long on me.
A
Yeah.
B
And I'm like, wait, I'm tall. Who's fitting?
A
I love that. She's like, I'm almost five eight. It's important. If you said you were five' seven, I'd be like, cool. You said five' eight.
B
And I'm like, I'm almost there.
A
And it's.
B
It's an important distinction, incredibly. But, yeah, those are probably my, like, absolute go to's. And then I just got this cute blue pair from Aritzia, too, that I love, but I forget the name. But Aritzia, in general, makes good sweats.
A
I think they make the best lounge. They make really good workout sets, too.
B
Yes, they do.
A
I have so many of their lounge things that I just love. Yeah, it's really. I recommend it a lot for work, but, like, for great, like, work wear. Great pants.
B
Yeah.
A
But I think a lot of people now are really frustrated with buying things that are polyester, and they do have a lot of polyester pieces.
B
Oh, I didn't know this. People are really cracking down on the
A
fabrics, and I do feel like I'm in that way, too. Like, I just replaced all of my undergarments with 100% cotton undergarments.
B
Yeah. That's something that I'm really big on with the sweatshirts that I sell, the Run Club sweatshirts.
A
They're so cute.
B
Thank you so much. I need to get you on. But they're 100% cotton, and I feel super passionately about it because, you know, it's just good, like, when. Because when I'm selling something, and I know that girls are buying this with their own money, I want it to be, like, a one. And I understand, like, corporations sometimes, you know, aren't thinking that way and whatever, but for me, I'm like, that will always be the North Star.
A
I'm sure that this is a big conversation in the athletics world. Like, you're sweating. Hot. Pilates is a huge thing. Like, I couldn't imagine some of my sets being polyester. And I'm in this hot room and I'm sweating, and it's literally just going into my body.
B
Yeah, I know. People do talk about that all, and it's something that I never even really thought about. But then once people started saying it, I was like, you're so right. Like, that's crazy.
A
Okay, go to Sunglasses for Running. I feel like that is something like the sunglasses, the AirPods. Tell me what you're doing.
B
I'm not the biggest, like, sunglasses one running girl, but I know that Warby Parker just came out with a. With a really cute line of Sunglasses for running.
A
Is there, like, a cord in the back? No, but I see I would sit on their face.
B
So actually, I take it back. There is this one brand. It's a friend of mine in the running community where, like, we became social media friends, and then we ran boss. In the same year, she started a running sunglasses brand called Bonds or Athletics. And I actually do like one of the pairs that she sent me, and they are a little more, like. They don't look like running sunglasses. They're a little bit more, like, chic vibe. But those don't bounce around. So those I will wear if. If it's, like, so sunny. And I, like, should know I should be wearing a pair.
A
I feel like that right now I'm seeing more, like, sport fashion than ever. I mean, in general, I feel like this whole year, fashion and sport have really been so intertwined. The super bowl, like, had so many great moments.
B
Yes.
A
The World cup, it's, like, so exciting.
B
Yeah.
A
I wonder if you are seeing anything online right now that, like, is a trend in sport that you're excited to try. Because I feel like I'm seeing a lot of brands do, like, athletic collaborations, a lot of tracksuits. So much going on. Is there anything that's, like, catching your eye right now?
B
I was about to say, I feel like I see so many track pants. So many, so many.
A
And for me, I'm not someone who would ever wear them, but now I'm like, wait, I feel like I could style that with a tank top and, like, even a little kitten heel, and that could be cute.
B
Yeah. No, exactly. I'm seeing a lot of track pants and, like, windbreaker vibes. I'm so.
A
The St. Laurent one.
B
Yeah.
A
Everywhere.
B
And I feel like, like, mew, mew stuff that, like, they do a lot. They're, like, leaning kind of sporty vibe as well. And then also, like, guest in residence. Obviously, it's like, cashmere, but they are making these great, like, layered moments.
A
I wore.
B
I got one before my trip to Japan, and it's giving me sporty vibes because it's, like, layered and looks like kind of like a tee, but then it's cashmere, which we love.
A
So, yeah, they're like, These, like, collared rugby tees with a layered long sleeve underneath. They're very cute.
B
Yeah. I'm obsessed.
A
Really fun.
B
Yeah.
A
Wait, you brought up pajamas earlier, and I had to make a note to talk about this pajama debacle that you got into recently, about the Australian tradition of putting your pajamas under your pillow.
B
Yes.
A
I had to bring this up to you.
B
Have you heard about it?
A
I had never heard about it.
B
Me, too. And I thought I felt crazy.
A
Okay, we need to give the audience context. Brett put up a video recently where she was talking about what people do with their pajamas and, like, how often they wash them. And people that kind of came at you, you're probably gonna be better at explaining it than me.
B
I basically, I learned somewhere or I saw somewhere that some people put their pajamas under their pillow, and I was like, what do you. What do you mean? And I forget where I saw it and the way it blew up to, like, the most insane degree.
A
It was, like, on the Daily Mail.
B
It was on the Daily Mail. This, like, what this, like, massive podcast in Australia talked about. Like, it was so crazy. And the amount of people in my comments, I genuinely thought were, like, pranking me, because people were like, what do you mean you don't put your pajamas under your pillow?
A
Like, I have never.
B
Thousands of comments. And I was like, wait, what is going on? I genuinely have never. And then, like, someone commented, like, what do you mean? Like, when you stay at, like, a nice hotel in Europe, they do that for you? I was like, I've. I've never had that done. And, like, I've been to my fair share of nice hotels in Europe. I'm like, what do I. Am I missing? I genuinely thought I was being punked. And I guess, like, half the world keeps their PJs under their pillow. And then people were like, what do you do with yours? And I was like, I guess I washed that. Like, I don't know.
A
Yeah, I mean, I thought, okay. I thought people came to your defense, and we're like, oh, this is a very popular thing in Australia. It's not, obviously, not an American thing.
B
It's not an American thing. No, people were. People were definitely coming to my defense, and like, oh, I get why you wouldn't know that. But there were a decent amount of Americans, too, in the comments, saying, like, what do you mean? You've never heard of this?
A
You've never heard of it, or you've never done it? Those are two different things.
B
I think you've never heard of it.
A
I've never heard of it.
B
Never.
A
Yeah, I've never heard of it.
B
I was. I genuinely. I swear to God, I thought I was being punked with all the people in my comments.
A
I mean, I'm someone who, like, maybe I'll wear a PJ set twice, but then I immediately wash it. Yeah. But like, it gets like, put like, it's either like in my bedroom, like, laying out in between, like, two errors. Because I find that I think washing pajamas every night is, like, kind of a lot.
B
Yeah.
A
I think it depends on your shower routine.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, I'm a. I'm a night and a morning shower. It's just like, what wakes me up.
B
Yeah.
A
So I'm like, okay, I can like, put them there, let them air out and wear them again.
B
For sure.
A
They get washed after two wears.
B
I like, I do two wears.
A
I'm just like, under my pillow.
B
Yeah. It's because people are like, well, then where do you put.
A
They need to air out, guys. You sweat in your sleep. Like, you're sitting in it for eight
B
hours under the pillow. Felt weird to me.
A
It feels germy to me.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. I don't like that.
B
Mine are normally just like, I'll take them off, I'll make my bed and then I'll just like, throw them on my bed.
A
Me too. Like, I have like a bench in my room and they like hang out there or they're in my closet.
B
But yeah, it was like a whole thing though, and I was just astounded.
A
Love that for you we learn something new every single day.
B
Yeah.
A
It's crazy.
B
Yeah.
A
Okay. Our video producer for the podcast is a big fan of yours, and I went to her and asked if she wanted to know anything from you.
B
Love.
A
And she coined something called the Runner ugliest, which is that post workout reality of like, sweat, red face, like, the works. Right. How do you handle that? If you are someone who is like, running in the morning, have to get to the office, going for drinks at night. Like, how do you transition from being an athlete who's really like, doing all the things, working out well and then has to kind of jump into real life?
B
Yeah. I mean, it's super real. And I am someone who, like, my face is a tomato. I sweat so much. Like, I, you know, so I can't flip it around. Like, what? Like my sisters when they both lived in New York and. Well, one's still there, but. And like, did Worked in finance. They could go to Barry's in the morning and do like, dry shampoo and body Shower and go to the. Like, I could never, like, if I'm going to Berry's and going all, like, I would need to like, fully shower. So I do have to bake in time to fully shower. And sometimes that will mean leaving the house with wet hair. But like, I just. That's just a reality for me. But it honestly is just like, time. Like, I have to give my face time to like, not be red anymore and whatever. But it, it definitely is real. Like, I look so scary after all my long runs and I'm like, I need to go get in the shower and like, reset. And so on race day, you really can't prevent it, but I wear like a little bit of makeup and just hope it lasts vibe. So mascara goes a long way. And then I always, like, slick my hair for the most part. So I'm not having crazy flyaways. But part of it is just, you gotta accept.
A
You have to accept it, embrace it, lean into it.
B
Yeah. But the runner uglies are for sure real.
A
When she messaged me that, I thought it was so funny. I think hair is really important. Like, even I love like a heated workout, but I can't do them every day.
B
Right.
A
Because how do I go from that? I have to wash my hair. Yeah. Like, I feel so gross if I go from that class and don't wash my hair and then go on about my day and it's like I have to set up some sort of routine or I don't intentionally don't go to the workout because I'm like, I can't handle that into the day that I have.
B
Yeah.
A
Do you use anything that you love for slick backs?
B
I love the crown affair styling gel.
A
So good.
B
It's so good.
A
The fact that you can brush your hair out after it is unbelievable.
B
I don't understand because before it anything I used, my hair would be a crunchy, disgusting mess. And like, I can fully brush through it and my hair is like low key, fine, fully. Yeah.
A
It's amazing.
B
Yeah.
A
More scientists.
B
So I love that. And then the day wispy thing, the day brush.
A
Oh, like the small kind of toothbrushy brush. Yes. I just got my first one of those. I've never had that before. Yeah, I love it. It's so cute. It feels really good.
B
Yeah, it feels good. And like, I'm just like queen of the flyaways. Like, I have so fudgeing money and
A
so none today, girl.
B
Thank you so much.
A
Perfectly smooth hair.
B
Thank you. But that is like my, my tool that I bring Especially if I do a slick back out. Yeah, I'll have that in my purse just in case.
A
Another thing that I think is, like, very. An underserved market right now. Maybe you just haven't found the right one. Deodorant.
B
Yeah, One.
A
It's. If I.
B
You.
A
Okay. So I have to use. I use secret. I still use secret.
B
Okay, Well, I literally use Old Spice.
A
What?
B
I literally use men's deodorant. Yeah.
A
Why?
B
I genuinely think sometimes I will dabble with Dove as well, but I genuinely think because I, like, I run hot. Like, I'm sweating.
A
I know I'm a sweaty girl.
B
I need the, like, it's the only one that, like, really works for me. So I'm literally using Old Spice. Pure sport deodorant. Yeah.
A
The deodorant world right now for me is very stressful. I use a secret. I do feel like I have to reapply it, but I have to use something strong, like chemical grade like that. Because if I don't, I'm using, like, the natural ones. They don't work for me. But then on top of that, they're white, and the white gets all over my clothes. This is a thing I think someone really needs to figure out. And don't tell me that there are.
B
Olivia.
A
There's a million brands doing natural, better deodorant, but, like, I have not found the one that works for the smelly fashion girl. It doesn't want it all.
B
Yeah. No, seriously, I love that you use Old Spice. I literally. Old Spice. And then I also. I like the Dove aerosol one, too. Just like, on the go. It's great.
A
It's smart.
B
Yeah.
A
I want to talk about wearables, because I think in. It's funny. This is such a big conversation. I feel like one. Wearables have gotten a lot more fashionable. You see Gayle King on the red carpet with her apple watch all the time. It's definitely a point of attention.
B
Yeah.
A
I'm just like, you're wearing the most beautiful gown. Take that thing off.
B
Yeah. I love that.
A
Sometimes she puts, like, the Hermes band to make it.
B
The apple watch, to me, is such tears.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah. It's not my favorite.
A
It's huge.
B
Yeah.
A
Can we make it smaller?
B
Yeah. It's not my favorite.
A
Do you have one?
B
No.
A
You never had one?
B
I had one in, like, high school, and my boyfriend has one, and I love him so much, and he knows when he has to take it off, where we're going out to dinner and whatever, because it's not it's not my fave, but, you know, if people like them, they like them. But for me, yeah, no.
A
Are you a wearable person at all? Do you wear an aura ring? Do you wear any of those things?
B
So I went through a phase with my aura ring. I wore it for like a year pretty consistently, and I took it off a few months ago and I just haven't put it back on. I think that it, like, kind of got a little bit too into my head with, like, my sleep and stuff. And then I also, like, if I woke up and it said, like, minor signs of stress, I was like, oh, there's my debt. Like, it did, really. Even though I told myself I'm like, I'm not gonna let it affect me. Like, it just does kind of when you're checking that app every morning and it's like telling you how to feel vibe. So I ended up. I haven't worn it in a few months and I'm feeling, like, good without it. And then I obviously wear a wash when I'm running because I have my running watch, but it's just like a classic Garmin black. I got it, like, years ago, and then the second I'm done with my run, I take it off. So I'm not the biggest wearable girl, but they are getting more fashionable. I just saw a friend last week who got the brand new aura that's thinner and it actually, like, I'm like, oh, like, I get that one. Like, if I want to go back, Like, I like that it's thinner. But yeah, it's interesting to see, like, where it's going, though. Just like the overall industry.
A
There are brands that are doing, like, Oura ring covers, like, jewelry brands. Have you seen that?
B
No.
A
Logan Hollowell is doing them.
B
Wow.
A
So they're basically like things that are meant to, like, go on top of your Oura ring.
B
I've seen people do stacks with them. One of my friend does stacks.
A
I had the exact same, exact same experience with Oura Ring.
B
Yeah.
A
I lived and died by mine. I had to wear it every night to understand how I slept and had a little bit of a health situation in April where I knew if I was wearing it, it would say, like, major signs. Go to the emergency room. And I just couldn't have that, like, anxiety every day. Like, I knew I was fine. I knew I was getting through it. I knew I was in a bad situation. But, like, I didn't need the Oura ring to remind me. And I think after that, I never went back. I was just like, I can't live and die by this data that, like, you know, I'd be sitting at my laptop all day. And obviously I'm engaged because I'm working.
B
Right.
A
But it would, like, at the end of the day, be like, you spent 14 hours stressed today. And I'm like. But I wasn't. I was just engaged.
B
I never even understood the stress, like, how to. I was so confused by it.
A
And I think, like, not being able to discern between, like, the nuance of those moments is really important. I don't know. I. I liked knowing how many hours a night I slept. I think I might get an eight sleep because I just want to know that part.
B
We're gonna get an eight sleep when we move in together, me and my wife, Brad. And I'm so excited I will be
A
calling you for the review on that because I just wanna know how that is. I don't need. And also, like, I hated wearing an aura ring, like, on a fashion basis. It did not go with the vibes.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. While we're talking about running, I really. I want to hear more about this incredible run club that you have. It has been so inspiring. See you. Seeing you run across the country, the amount of people that are showing up should run with you and just that point of connectivity.
B
So my run club bites. Run club, it really kind of happened on its own. I had been getting a lot of outreach about hosting runs and stuff when I traveled to different places. And this was, I mean, two years ago, I feel like, is when it kind of really ramped up. And so it was February 2025 in New York, and I was staying at my sister's on that brief side. And I was like, you know what? I. I'm just gonna throw up a story and host a run tomorrow in Central Park. We're right here. Like, we'll see who comes, like, whatever. And, like, 150 girls showed up. Wow. Crazy. And it was the first one, and it just filled my cup so much. And so, like, much of what I love about what I do is being able to connect with people. And I started my Instagram Bread spites when I was in high school. And like this, I was, like, 17 and, like, wanting to be an influencer and, like, wanting to have a community. And so it's really cool that, you know, I'm making that dream come true and working towards it and in the place that I am today. But I remember, like, when I had 2,000 followers, I would get so excited when people would DM me and, like, ask me questions or just, like, interact and whatever. And so I keep that energy now, and I try to be so active in my DMs, and that's such a big part of what I'm doing, is connecting with people. And, you know, my run clubs are just such a good way to do that. And I really make it also, like, you know, you can come and not run. You can come and walk. You can come, just hang out. Like, I really want it to be a space in which anyone who follows me can come and meet friends. I'm excited to see, you know, where it takes me as time goes on. But, yeah, I just did New York, like, two weekends ago, and that was wonderful. That was my first time back in New York since my first one, and the turnout was great, and it just makes me so happy.
A
My favorite thing about this story is that first run that you hosted. I find that so many people don't do things because they want it to be perfect. And I think done is better than perfect always.
B
Yeah.
A
And I love that you were just like, I'm not going to make it this whole thing. I'm not going to plan, like, flyers and, like, make, like, an event bright or things like that. I'm just going to do it, and let's see what happens and, like, let it grow from there.
B
Yeah.
A
And I think that is such an important thing now, as we, like, are in this era of, like, social media and seeing everything that looks perfect. It's like, just try it.
B
Yeah, just do it.
A
Do it. Just do it. Yeah, like, get it out there. Literally, Nikki, just do it. But, like, you know, just get it out there and see what the response is and grow from there.
B
Exactly.
A
That's so exciting. I love your dessert bowls on TikTok. I watch them all the time. I want to do a dessert bowl based on your wardrobe love. Let's do some, like, ingredients that you are obsessed with and will always come back to. So is there a piece right now in heavy rotation that might surprise people?
B
Honestly, this, like, might be diabolical.
A
My favorite word for you, by the way.
B
Thank you.
A
Favorite word not because you're diabolical, but because you use it a lot, and it's like, it just sounds perfect in every context you put it in.
B
I love the word so much. This might be diabolical, but I've had the same pair since, like, high school, and they are so comfy, and they will always be a staple in my wardrobe is my Birkenstock mules. They're so comfy. I love throwing them on to go to a dinner, a chill dinner in Santa Monica at R B. Like that vibe. I know they aren't for everyone, but for me, I love them.
A
No, they're an L, A staple. They are socially accepted here in la.
B
Yes, they are.
A
You can't be against the Birkenstock and live in la. We can't be doing that. What's one thing you keep buying in multiples?
B
The Lisette Margot. Love.
A
Very good.
B
I'm a big Lisette girl. Clearly.
A
So am I. She's opening up stores all over la. Psa. I didn't know that there's going to be one near you in the Palisades.
B
Hi. Love, love. Oh, my gosh.
A
What's something that used to be in the bowl that recently got retired?
B
I think that I still love my sweatshirts, but I used to love, like, huge, huge, huge, oversized, like, down to here. And, like, I'm not reaching for those as much anymore.
A
Would you wear them out of the house?
B
Yes.
A
With what?
B
With, like, a biker short or, like, even just, like.
A
Yeah, that was the time.
B
Sometimes I loved, like, a really big, mad, happy, like, xxl, like, whatever. I prefer my sweatshirts to be a little bit more, like, fitted and.
A
Yeah, yeah, I like a fitted, you know, something Aritzia, which we. We still love. Guys, we've. We said some harsh, you know, constructive criticism, but they do make really good cropped hoodies.
B
Yes.
A
Okay. And lastly, for women listening who move a lot and want their wardrobe to actually work for their life, where would you tell them to start with building a great wardrobe?
B
I think find good staples that you feel good in and are comfortable in and kind of start there. So, like, not to once again, talk about the set, but it's like finding that Ariel pocket pant.
A
Like, seriously, he's gonna love this episode.
B
It changed my life because I find them so easy to throw on, and then I look more put together than wearing a sweat or something else. So that I think is huge. And then also just, like, a good cardigan, like, goes so far, I feel like. And again, it can just, like, elevate, you know, it's better than putting on a sweatshirt sometimes for different things. So.
A
Yeah. Thank you for coming on today.
B
Thank you. This was so fun.
A
I loved hearing about your world and all the things that you're working on. If you guys want to find Brett, you can find her on Instagram and on Tick Tock. And please let us know when your next run is.
B
I will. Yeah, I'LL let you know if I'm doing one in LA again.
A
Oh, that would be fun. We'll have to share it with everybody. Maybe in the fall. Yeah.
B
Fingers crossed. Thank you.
A
Of course.
