He finally got her. Oh, my God. He got her. For years, a deranged man in Wichita known as the Poet stalked Ruth Findlay. He sent her letters, gifts, and poems. The Wichita police put everything they had into Ruth's case but got nowhere. The Poet was always two steps in front of us, and we just didn't know why. And the city was already living in fear under the watch of another monster
Molly Sims
who called himself btk.
Erin Walsh
And he also had a thing for poetry. Could we really have two different people?
Molly Sims
But no one could have guessed how this would end.
Emisha Gormley
That's one of those Hitchcock endings that we did not expect.

Hey, I'm Molly Sims.
Emisha Gormley
And I'm Emisha Gormley. We're two girls obsessed with one thing.
Erin Walsh
Beauty.
Molly Sims
And by that, we mean everything that makes you look and feel beautiful.
Emisha Gormley
We're calling on our favorite health experts, industry insiders, and friends to answer all
Molly Sims
your beauty questions with a drink in hand.
Emisha Gormley
Definitely with a drink in hand.
Molly Sims
You're listening to Lipstick on the Rim with Molly Sims. We've been a little giddy about this one.
Emisha Gormley
I mean, me too, because, you know, there is nothing that gets me more excited than talking about getting dressed.
Molly Sims
Nothing. Maybe beauty, but getting dressed is top, top, top. This is a woman who doesn't just dress women beautifully, but really thinks how clothes make us feel. She has dressed some of the most iconic women in the world. Anne Hathaway, Selena Gomez, Sarah Jessica Park Parker, Kerry Washington, and many more. She was just named Women's Wear Daily's 2026 Style Maker of the Year, which is an incredible honor. On top of that, she just released her first book, which we're so excited to talk about. It's called the Art of Intentional Dressing. I love the COVID I love the book. This is what women have needed for a very long time, because it's not really about fashion. It's about becoming who we, you, us, want to be. Erin Walsh, welcome to Lipstick on the Rim.
Erin Walsh
Thank you so much for having me.
Emisha Gormley
We're so excited. I mean, first of all, you just got off of an incredible press tour for. I think that the red carpet, you know, in some cases, was almost more exciting for people than the fact that this movie was coming out. I mean, it was the Devil Wears Prada, too.
Erin Walsh
Yep.
Molly Sims
Yep.
Erin Walsh
A lot of lipstick in there.
Emisha Gormley
No.
Erin Walsh
It's funny with something like that, both in the film, the fashion's a big character. And so you know when you're going to do a press tour that you have to, like, bring your A game.
Molly Sims
You rose to the occasion. You leveled up, as we like to say.
Erin Walsh
And that's what I want everybody to do with this book.
Molly Sims
Well, I love the book. Cause you say your essential style guide for manifesting a magnetic life. I think every woman, east coast, west coast, north, south, look in their closets. They wake up and they're like, what
Emisha Gormley
the fuck do I wear?
Molly Sims
What the fuck am I gonna wear? Even when you like, I do it. And I work with stylists. She helps me. I'm constantly trying to put together different things. My assistants help me. But I think this is why this book is so important, because it's kind of teaching women who. Who they wanna become.
Erin Walsh
Also, very importantly, it was essential to me if I was gonna bother putting a guide or any. Any kind of book out into the world, that a part of it be a means for women to teach themselves. Because even though there are, like, developing means, and I'm gonna have an AI app version of the book later, you know, with me on your shoulder. Like, in life, one of our biggest, not challenges, but asks, I would say, is to develop and become and embody the best version of ourselves. And how do we find within ourselves the means to become our greatest teacher? And I kept trying to, like, hone in on that in terms of accessibility and what can I do to. So you can take it with you? Which is also why it's more like French pocketbook size. I wanted you'd be able to put it in your purse and also on your coffee table. But, well.
Molly Sims
And I love it because it's really like a guide.
Erin Walsh
It's a guide.
Molly Sims
It's a guide exploring archetypes who you want to be. I mean, look at what we're experiencing now. Carolyn Bessette, I mean, she's the best ghost influencer ever, right? The 90s are back, and I love it. I mean, Elizabeth and I, our producer, obsessed with that time, that period, that moment.
Erin Walsh
Everybody is right now. It's crazy.
Molly Sims
Do you think you can teach style?
Erin Walsh
There are people that you know that just have it, right? And you can't explain what it is. And the way that I have unpacked that over the years, you can sense it. It's a feeling like. And if there's somebody you think is stylish, I think what we're sensing is we like what they're feeling, we like what they're embodying. We like something that they have, and maybe they have on fabulous shoes or whatever, but it's not that that might be a part of the story, but there's something they're offering energetically in terms of teaching that the best thing that I can offer is the idea that you find within yourself a means to embody this feeling of the person, like, how you want to feel. And that's why that's, like, the underlying thread of the book, asking yourself every day, how do I want to feel?
Emisha Gormley
Because without that, do you want to
Molly Sims
stay and feel great in your yoga pants? Which is my biggest pet peeve, living in la. And we talk about this so much.
Erin Walsh
It's big on that.
Molly Sims
It's very big on Athleisure, which is fine. I love Athleisure until I don't. And I think sometimes women forget how to get dressed in the morning.
Erin Walsh
Totally. Totally.
Molly Sims
Well, it's just the easy way out.
Emisha Gormley
And we always. I mean, you said this because of Big Mama, but it's a tagline that carries through. When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you look good. Yes. That is, to me, like, there is no worse feeling than when you are going out for dinner with your friends and you just stand in your closet and you're like, I don't know what to wear. Even though you have 27,000 options, but you put something on, you don't feel great, you walk out in, like, a slump.
Erin Walsh
It changes everything. It changes your own, the possibilities that you're setting up for yourself, even in a simple thing like dinner, like, the kind of dinner that it is and how you feel after it and how that sets up your next day and the next day and the next day. Like, everything has a ripple effect. And so if you're intentional about everything, it's like you're in control. Not, look, shit happens. And, you know, we can't control everything, but you're doing the best you can to operate at the best level that you can and to feel the best you can.
Molly Sims
And I think there's no better person to write this book than someone like you, who've been, you know, dare I say, with some of the most talented actresses that have to look their best, that will walk out. And the moment they walk out, they're criticized.
Erin Walsh
Yeah. It's interesting to work with people who are in situations that are, like, literally being set up to be analyzed. Right. And I think even Everybody who's not famous. The issue with imposter syndrome, or feeling less than or not enough, whether it's for your friends or for a meeting or an important event that you have to go to, it comes from this lack of connection with yourself. So for women in those kinds of situations, I've always tried to be a means to set them up with that connection with themselves and how they want to feel and what do they want to accomplish in that moment? How do they want to be remembered? What does that energetically feel like, and how can we support that with these choices? It's not just about the designer name, which, yes, it's a fun part of the story that we all enjoy very much, but it's so much more.
Molly Sims
You can tell when someone's wearing a designer that they're not really into the dress. I can almost spot it every single time. I think that's what you do.
Erin Walsh
You have, like, a visceral. You know, I'm like, yeah, you can like, you cloth.
Molly Sims
It's fine to be paid for something. It's fine to do favors. It's fine to wear the dress of the house that is gonna get you a campaign. There's all sor of reasons why you do things. But I have noticed, especially with me, if I'm forced into something where I know I'm very conscious of my shoulders, I'm very conscious that I'm broad. I'm very conscious, like, you know, if something's too short, I. I don't always feel my best. And so I get a little, like, I don't know. And then when I put on something in May, I went to. I got to do the Sports Illustrated, and I was, you know, a little bit nervous. I'm like, everybody's gonna be naked. Everybody's gonna be like, you know, on the red carpet. And, you know, I started kind of getting a little tight on what I was gonna wear, and then I'm like, okay, let me go really sheer. But then I'm like, it's not really me. I'm 52. I'm already in a bathing suit in the magazine. But it was those tendencies to be like, ugh, I just don't know, you know, and you start to get a little scared. But again, if you just kind of trust that feeling of what you want to do, how you want to show
Erin Walsh
up, how you want to show up, and how you want to feel. I love about that disconnection from yourself was centering around all the other people that were going to be there and
Molly Sims
what you know, the judge, she's wearing Schiaparelli. She's gonna wear Valentino. She's wearing Prada. Like, you know, I listen. I thought the color palette was amazing. I thought Ann was delicious. Like Chef's Kiss with the red. The strap was bent over the shoes. I loved. I thought everyone looked amazing. I really did.
Emisha Gormley
So what made you want to write this book? What was the moment?
Erin Walsh
It was, I have to say, when I became a mom 11 years ago now, I had this just like, reckoning with myself, that look. I've always loved fashion. I've always loved working with the people I work with. I find it to be fun and joyful and stimulating. There's always, always more to unpack and ways to level up and keep growing. But I had this moment of just, like, self realization that I was like, what's the legacy that I'm making? I know that I'm a person of substance. How am I pouring that into my work? What am I leaving behind? What am I showing my daughter with what I do? And I had this knowing always that there was a bigger purpose and connective tissue of beauty and fashion and even what we wear. But I hadn't ever bothered to delineate it. And so 10 years ago, I didn't know what the book was going to be, but I knew that I kept seeing this thing with clients, and I kept seeing with mostly women I would meet, which was like, getting dressed makes me feel bad about myself or fashion designs. For me, we don't know what to wear. I don't get it.
Molly Sims
How do you put it? How do you make that trend?
Erin Walsh
Totally. And they feel like disassociated from or mostly just less than or not enough. And I certainly had felt that for many, many years with going into the fashion world, which can be very humbling. And I hadn't really unpacked or ever bothered to try to heal that feeling of less than in myself. So in that time and then five years later, it was Covid and there was more time to, like, sit down and reflect. I started thinking, like, I'm going to be the one to solve this. I just decided I didn't know how. I'm like, let's do this. And at the I was becoming more and more pouring myself into topics like alignment and manifestation and just figuring out different rituals to recenter me when I felt very untethered. Remember, at the time, I didn't know when lockdown was gonna end. But most importantly, it was a quest for purpose and substance. And I do believe Being of service to other people and especially using whatever gifts I might have. How can I help other people with that? How can I offer that?
Molly Sims
So that gift is restrained elegance. Restrained.
Emisha Gormley
What you're wearing.
Molly Sims
Okay, she's wearing an all cream beautiful,
Emisha Gormley
like, turtle, oversized turtleneck, chunky gold rings,
Molly Sims
love with platform Pradas that I already complimented that are black.
Erin Walsh
I think we need to get you some.
Molly Sims
I know, they're so good. No, but you listen. I watched you, I followed you for all these years, and I think what you do so well is that you're restrained.
Emisha Gormley
You're trying too hard.
Molly Sims
You're not trying too hard. Like, it's like, it's almost like it didn't look styled.
Emisha Gormley
Effortless.
Erin Walsh
I try. I think for me, like, there's so many kinds of styling, too, that I respect and that I love and that I, you know, witness and observe and et cetera. But for me, the point's always about how do I make the person I'm working with shine? Like. And when I use that word, I mean, like, emanate from, like, their essence, that thing inside of them that they most want to project to the world. So that's always the point. And I try to do that, like, delicately and compassionately. Whether you're famous or not, we all have our whole list of insecurities most days. So how can I support those and help change the lens that way?
Molly Sims
Do you think your superpower is more daydressing or red carpet? A very put together, styled event.
Erin Walsh
I've never been asked that before. I like that question. So sometimes when you're putting together looks, especially day looks, you can get in this really fun flow that it just feels like electric, and I love that. But there are times with, like, red carpet giant moment things where you just like, feel the things click into place and it's almost feels like channeling something. You always want to do that. That's always the goal is like channeling something bigger and offering yourself to the moment. But yeah, there are times when that clicks that it's just like, whoa, like, what's happening?
Molly Sims
I think you have the magic of both. I really do. I think personally, just on a day to day, like watching you even work with Ann or work with, you know, Sarah are different people. You might be styling someone, but I'm watching what you're wearing. Does that make sense?
Emisha Gormley
Yeah. I also feel like I have, like, my girlfriend Megan Rosenblum got. She has worshiped you, and she's a girl that works in finance and there's
Erin Walsh
so many stylish finance ladies. I keep meeting them.
Emisha Gormley
She's obsessed with you. But I think that it's like a suit to the point where I think that there's something very not intimidating about the way you present outfits and looks. I personally, I'm allergic to the word trend. I hate trendy things, but it just kind of creeps into whatever you're buying. And so I mean, I think that my biggest question is how do you incorporate trend into daily styling?
Erin Walsh
Yeah. So I'm not like a trendy person. I wouldn't say. And in terms of stylists, I'm not the one that you necessarily would look to. Who's like the provocateur or whatever? Like, I don't. I like risk taking, but I wanna
Emisha Gormley
make you feel great.
Erin Walsh
I'm not trying to like reinvent the wheel, but in terms of trends, I do look at them and I think everybody should learn to make their own secret sauce. Cause the mistake people make, especially when they invest in things, whether. Cause they see it on Instagram or wherever. My advice would be like, we're all here to grow. So trends can be, if you allow them, a means to keep asking yourself new questions. And then part of the method is like asking yourself when you wake up, how am I feeling?
Molly Sims
Foreign.
Emisha Gormley

You talk about starting every morning with three words. Walk us through how that works.
Erin Walsh
So even if you don't, I'm not saying like it's I'm just talking to the working women. Like every woman has a lot of roles and responsibilities regardless of what's going on. And I find that most days most women don't wake up feeling like everything they need to be or feel that day. And so I think it's important before you jump into, like, what should I wear? What should I do? How do I want to feel? You ask yourself, how am I feeling? Three words. So, like, Molly, what did you wake up feeling today? Three words. Before you did anything.
Molly Sims
Depleted. Bad. Yeah, I'm happy that image was here.
Erin Walsh
Okay.
Molly Sims
Okay.
Erin Walsh
Yeah, that's good. Because, like, the combinations are the reality, too. And then I think it's important to take a pause because, again, almost everybody's, like, rushing into whatever roles are there things to do?
Molly Sims
It's so interesting because I had to have a very hard conversation with someone yesterday, and I cried all day, and I was really sad. I know I was really sad. But boundaries. I'm learning them. But it was interesting in my choices today. Normally, I'm maybe a little bit of a liberty print. I don't really do big florals anymore. I'm like, I can't. I'm past all of that. But today I was feeling kind of so down. And then everything I went to in my closet was, like, black with, like, a chic top. Something very simple, very chic, very, like, not complicated, because my mind was not.
Erin Walsh
Isn't that interesting?
Molly Sims
Isn't that interesting?
Erin Walsh
You're someone because of your life and what you do and what you've done. Like, you have probably more advanced, intuitive understanding of what works for your body and how you want to feel. But in teaching this to other people, I think, like, you, you knew those things instinctively, right? And the goal is for everybody who reads the book and starts doing this every day to start learning that themselves. And then it becomes something more habitual and, like, who you are. But, yeah, so, like, you ask those. You take your pause, and then you ask yourself, how do I want to feel? Three words. And, like, I say three words because you don't want to get too much in your head and overanalyzing it, because that's another thing that we do which isn't serving you. If you choose three, you can start there and see how it works. And there will be times that you choose your three words. If you had to, like, say with what you ended up deciding, I could tell you what I see.
Molly Sims
But tell me what you see.
Erin Walsh
I see elegant, supported, and confident. So if you have those three words, then that's your lens that you look at your clothes and your clothes. What you do as a part of this process is you go through every single piece in your closet, and you say, this sweater makes me feel elegant, soft, and you know, calm and every single piece so that your closet becomes a library of how you want to feel.
Molly Sims
Every stylist will ask you, how do you.
Erin Walsh
How do you want to feel?
Molly Sims
How do you want to feel? How do you want to show up on the carpet? What are you thinking? You thinking sexy? You thinking short? You thinking long? Like what. How do you want to. And I'm telling you, it does work.
Erin Walsh
It works.
Molly Sims
It works. And if you can try to figure out, like, how you want to show up and feel, it changes. It changes.
Erin Walsh
So, like, think about yesterday. You had this day that was difficult, and you know that today you have all these podcasts record, and tomorrow, too, and you gotta show up, right? So how do you get the path? What's your roadmap back to yourself and who you want and need to be? And how can your clothing help you do that? It's super simple. That's what I love about it, is because it's what I wanted to offer. I knew that in offering something that would work, it had to be so simple and digestible and so easy to remember and easy to implement because we're all busy and we don't need more homework. It's like, no, what can I do at the beginning of the day? And then, by the way, if what you chose during lunch, you're like, this does not make me feel elegant and supported. This makes me feel fussy and silly. So, like, it's just information that you can keep giving yourself. So you know what, you know that. That loss doesn't work for me. It doesn't. So then, like, it becomes a dialogue of getting to know yourself and your needs, too, which is also means to support yourself.
Emisha Gormley
What were your three words this morning?
Erin Walsh
Well, I wanted to feel elegant, calm, and inspiring.
Molly Sims
I love. You delivered, and you delivered really well. You really delivered. We really love the outfit. You guys are so cute. Okay, let's talk about the pieces. The essential wardrobe. What do you have to have in
Emisha Gormley
your closet to build the basics around and build your own style?
Erin Walsh
So there are things like the tried and true that tend to always work. But what I would say before offering those is to go into your closet and pick out three things that you feel great about. And. And I got to that idea was talking with Michael Kors when I was interviewing him in the book, and we were talking about, like, red carpet dressing and, like, personal style. And he was telling me this story of, like, for the Golden Globes many years ago. He was working with an actress who, like, hated fashion. She didn't Think it was for her. She felt uncomfortable about her body. And he was like, look, go to your closet. Pull out three things that you feel great about. And one was like a gray sweatshirt. One was like, like, like a T shirt. And like, I can't even remember the other one. But what he ended up making was like a sequin T shirt gown, like with sleeves that she felt great in. Cause he understood how she wanted to feel and what she connected with. So she could show up as herself. But, like, turn up the volume.
Molly Sims
I think I know the dress probably. He kind of got known for it. That undone, done, sequin.
Erin Walsh
Yeah, he gets that women want to feel beautiful and like that. There's many versions of beautiful. Sometimes it's empowered, sometimes it's sensual, Sometimes it's, you know, boss. It's just like we're so many things that for him I see this underlying thread of like the supernova of it. Like turning up the volume on what you think is possible for yourself. Because I don't think we're meant here to be small. And even on days when we feel small, we at least deserve to feel held.
Emisha Gormley
There's an art to it. I think of getting secure enough in yourself to know what works.
Erin Walsh
Well, think about that. Like the word security. What does that mean? Security means that you feel safe and that you perhaps see yourself and like through this, like, you can even better see and understand the people around you. Because you better understand yourself. It's not only a gift to yourself, it starts becoming a gift to your relationships and how you operate in the world.
Emisha Gormley
100%.
Molly Sims
What was it like working at Vogue?
Erin Walsh
God, it's so funny. This is 20 years ago when the Devil Wears Prada came out originally and we were all living that reality. It was like the best boot camp. Some of my favorite lessons in working there, and I didn't last very long cause I was like so open hearted and soft. And my boss was like this hardcore og, like, editor. Had been there the longest and it didn't work. But in terms of what I learned in the work ethic, it was that serious. The first photo set I was on was with Irving Penn. And you would shoot like one photo a day on film and break for lunch. And you know, you couldn't talk or there was no music. Those were the take on so Wild. It was so different. Like, no, I just learned. And this is something I still offer to my assistants. Like, no, doesn't exist here. That was a very real rule. You would always figure out a way to solve it. If something Wasn't available. It didn't come. You would just figure it out. But I love that lesson. Everything is figureoutable.
Emisha Gormley
So we don't have that anymore. I don't think this generation.
Erin Walsh
No, we do. And that's what's in the books.
Molly Sims
Do they figure it the fuck out?
Erin Walsh
They figured it out.
Molly Sims
I can tell who can figure it out and who can't figure it out.
Erin Walsh
And in terms of who comes, like, onto my team, I always look for that. And if it's not there, I think you can teach that.
Emisha Gormley
You can teach it.
Erin Walsh
You can teach it.
Molly Sims
I think everyone's superpowers are different, right?
Erin Walsh
Absolutely.
Molly Sims
You're gonna be really great at this part of the job. But you might actually. I've moved people around in my companies.
Erin Walsh
Cause I'm like, wait, you see what's.
Molly Sims
You're better here.
Erin Walsh
Totally.
Molly Sims
You can exist there. But I do think the no becoming, I think, is as there is. No. No. Figure it out.
Erin Walsh
Figure it out every day. And that's why I like this method too. Cause even in the process of. When you wake up feeling like crap, or you go to your closet and you feel like crap, just like, figure it out. And that comes through a lens of compassion. I think we better understand ourselves when we take a pause and we ask how we want to feel. And even just that question in itself is deciding that you matter and that you're worth being thoughtful about and getting intentional about.
Molly Sims
Talk us through your book. Beginning, middle, and end. A little snapshot.
Erin Walsh
It's funny again, when I made the book, I wanted it to be so, like, you can take it with you. So I was like, I need an acronym. And there's all these things I had been doing over the years with clients that I know that I do, but I hadn't necessarily, like, I'm a very hard on my sleeve kind of like doing sort of person. So I had never, like, said with clients, oh, I do this create method on you. It just hadn't ever occurred to me to, like, name what I do. It's just what I do. But with the book, I'm like, no, no. I need to make acronym. And it needs to be great. And it was my friend's birthday, and I'm sitting in Cafe Clooney, like, waiting for her to come, like, writing on my journal. And the word create just came to me, and I wrote it vertically. And the words for each tenet of the method, the ones that I chose and what they are and what they had always been, it came to me. There wasn't any substitutes. That's what it was. And the create method is an acronym for clarity, Ritual, editing, alignment, truth and Expansion. Clarity is that question. How do you want to feel today and forever? Who's that person you want to be? And how do you get clear on that? My favorite part about getting clear is you get fucking real with yourself. And that means what do you love about your body? What don't you feel so great about? But just that lens of clarity. Without that, without being truthful with yourself, you have no baseline. And the ritual part is great because especially when you're traveling. And I've been finding this to be so true this year. Before you put clothes on your body, you need to reconnect, connect with your body via, like, it's not like saying everybody needs to work out for three hours a day, which is fun. If you have time, great. But like moving your body in any kind of way and having a meaningful relationship visceral to it and doing that
Molly Sims
every day, the connection with your own,
Erin Walsh
this connection with yourself and then all the other things you can do, whether that's mantra, meditation, scent, sound like. There's so many different avenues in ritual. Even throughout the day. If you had a shitty morning to restart and recalibrate, or if your day was confusing and you want to be a different going into the evening for a date or even just to be with your kids, like, what are the means that you can like demarcate your day and be thoughtful about it.
Molly Sims
I also love when like you're going on a trip, it forces you to,
Emisha Gormley
like, think, think through your outfits.
Molly Sims
What do you wear, your outfits. And so when you go, I got talked this by many stylists. Figure out all your looks. Yeah, once you're there, you're good to go. You're not focusing, you're not thinking. You've got your looks, you can set, you can be present.
Erin Walsh
Yeah, but think about what you just said though. Like when you do that on a trip, it works because you got intentional about it. And people forget to do that every day of their lives. They forget. They like, want to embody that, like, chill, fantastic energy and that that might serve who they are and how they operate in the world.
Molly Sims
And I will say, like, I've never, you know, really been in corporate situations until the last couple of years and never had to speak for a bank or, you know, on a panel or anything like that. How you show up is really important on how people take you serious.
Emisha Gormley
Yeah, Total perception.
Molly Sims
The perception of you, who you're with, like you don't think. And people are like, oh, it doesn't matter.
Erin Walsh
It matters.
Molly Sims
It matters.
Erin Walsh
Yeah. And then in terms of investment, you can see what you're missing. You start looking at that narrative. Is that the story you want to be telling to the world? Do you need more like boldness or structure? And then if that's the answer, yeah, of course. Maybe you're missing that gray jacket that gives you a little bit of that energy maybe like in becoming a mom. Not to say like, these are simple examples, but like, maybe you're not wearing heels anymore because you feel like you always need to be running around. But maybe that kind of. Maybe investing in something like that might give you a different literal way to walk in the world and remind you of your possibility. I think you find what you need to invest in when you look at the narrative of what your days look like. And then you're actually intentionally investing too. And it's not just like, you can find inspiration from, like, looking at what works for other people, but pull from that and try what works for you. And if it doesn't feel like what you want to feel, then again it doesn't work.
Molly Sims
She's very right about taking pictures of when you're putting your looks together. I do this now. When you like something, we print it. We can see exactly, like, you know, the different looks. And you're like, okay, wait, I could use that blue tailored shirt with like a black pant, like a great robe belt. Like, you can also start to put other things together while you're looking at your looks. And I know it takes time and nobody wants to do it, but if you get intentional, it's hard to look wrong.
Erin Walsh
Well, the fun thing is if you're not a person that wants to style 15 looks on yourself in a day, if you start doing this once a day or even when you change, it's already happening anyways. So it's not like a big chore. Any very busy person can take a 1 second picture to style.
Emisha Gormley
If I put an outfit on that, I'm like, oh, I like this. I wanna remember this for the next time. I don't know what to wear.
Erin Walsh
Do you do that already?
Emisha Gormley
I've done this for a while now and it really is. And I have a folder in my albums, outfits. It's really basic, it's super basic. But like, I just, I will sometimes forget and be like, and you are in those moments where you're, you know, rushing out the door. You know, you've made the kids dinner
Erin Walsh
and you're like, shit, I have to leave.
Emisha Gormley
Like, I'm already late. And you stand there and you get flustered, right?
Molly Sims
And there that is.
Emisha Gormley
It goes back to that point. There's no worse feeling because then you're kind of walking out the door, stomping, in a bad mood and now you just don't feel good.
Erin Walsh
Totally.
Emisha Gormley
So that has helped me avoid it.
Erin Walsh
And it is intentional, especially in this book and in talking to people about it and the method. I keep meeting women at different chapters in their lives and especially the chapters when you feel disconnected from your body and yourself. Like postpartum perimenopausal.
Molly Sims
I love those moments. Kidding.
Erin Walsh
I mean, but like, think it's so hard to get dressed in those moments. You don't recognize your person and you
Molly Sims
forget me, I think. But I was like, good God, I must have drank and ate myself silly.
Emisha Gormley
I was wearing Walmart. Might have been a little suits because we left. We used to live in the city at that time. We were wearing. I want to say the brand is called like Treasure and Chest or I don't know, it was just some God awful name. You could probably light a match 10ft away and I would burst into flames. Like it was so flammable and disgusting.
Erin Walsh
I need. You need to show me that folder.
Emisha Gormley
Oh.
Erin Walsh
In terms of investment pieces, I think once you get familiar with and catalog your wardrobe, you can start to see the holes. Like, what you have to do is every day in this moment of clarity is like, like, take a selfie of what you decided to do. So you start having a catalog of your choices and you like even in like honing that muscle of what's working for you and why? Like, and you start to understand your habits. Like, what are your typical three words? Do I need to push myself more? Am I always in this box of elegant, easy and empowered? Like, do I want to feel more, you know, fierce and bold? Or like, is life confusing and I need some more support and structure? I think it gives you a catalog to do. And then in terms of investment, you can see what you're missing. If you start looking at that narrative. Is that the story you want to be telling to the world? Do you need more boldness or structure? And then if that's the answer, yeah, of course, maybe you're missing that gray jacket that gives you a little bit of that energy. Maybe in becoming a mom you are not to say these are simple examples, but maybe you're not wearing heels anymore because you feel like you always need to be running around. But maybe that that kind of maybe investing in something like that might give you a different literal way to walk in the world and remind you of your possibility. I think you find what you need to invest in when you look at the narrative of what your days look like. And then you're actually intentionally investing too. And it's not just like you can find inspiration from looking at what works for other people, but pull from that and try what works for you. And if it doesn't feel like what you want to feel, then again, it doesn't work.

Mark. I have to talk about One Skin because the science is genuinely fascinating. The founding team are longevity researchers who discovered that visible signs of aging, wrinkles, fine lines, loss of elasticity, are all driven by damaged cells. They developed OSO1, a proprietary peptide. That's the first ingredient proven to actually switch those cells cells off and slow the aging process. The product I'm obsessed with is their face spf. You're getting mineral sun protection. UV exposure is one of the biggest things that ages us faster. But you're getting OS01 benefits at the same time, protecting against future damage while reversing past summers in the sun. Born from over a decade of longevity research, One Skin's OSO1 peptide is proven to target the visible signs of aging, helping you unlock your healthiest skin now. And as you age. For a limited time, try OneSkin with 15% off using code LOTR at OneSkin CO. LOTR. That's 15% off OneSkin CO with code LOTR. After you purchase, they'll ask you where you heard about them. Please support our show and tell them we sent you.

There's always that one piece in your closet that ends up doing all the work. That's quints basically summed up elevated essentials made from premium materials. Think European linens, organic cottons, washable silk silks without the markup that usually comes with quality like that. The linen pants have become an absolute go to for me. They have a relaxed fit and they somehow only get softer with every wash. And Starting at just $32, they're the piece that gets packed for every single trip and worn way more than I expected. Their denim is so soft and easy to live in. And their cotton sweaters are perfect for cooler evenings. And guess what? They're 14 karat gold jewelry. Simple hoops, delicate chains make even a thrown together outfit feel super intentional. And it's not just apparel. Quince also offers elevated essentials for your home. From bedding and bath to kitchen essentials and furniture, all priced 50 to 80% less than similar brands make your summer wardrobe easier. ode to Matthew Blase? I was in Paris like a couple days after he launched. I literally call her and I'm like, it's like the Hunger Games.
Erin Walsh
It's crazy.
Molly Sims
In Chanel. I'm so happy because again, we love an investment, we love a piece. But I think he's just brought such a sense of fun and spontaneity and
Emisha Gormley
like he brought a youthfulness.
Erin Walsh
It's so hard to do. In a way, it's totally honoring the DNA of the house and like it's history and also what it can be. But it's like this walk of elegant joy that just feels like I want to be a part of that.
Molly Sims
Oh, I was.
Emisha Gormley
I went to his show. First show in New York, the one in the subway. I had tears in my eyes.
Erin Walsh
I did too.
Molly Sims
She was like, unbelievable.
Emisha Gormley
When that first like walk, it was asap. Rocky came down the stairs and I was like. I'm like, this is like an out of body experience.
Erin Walsh
No, same. That was the one in Paris. The couture that show, I was just like, this is not of this world. This is next level stuff.
Molly Sims
Super talented.
Erin Walsh
That's like super nova shit.
Molly Sims
What are you excited about in terms of how women are dressing right now?
Erin Walsh
Well, certainly the joy, right? It's been really fun in working on the book and putting all this out there, I have all these women, which is the best, texting me their three words and videos of themselves and the outfits that they put together and these testimonials of. I feel more connected to myself. It just. When I think of 10 years ago and even 20 years ago, when I really didn't understand that clothing could make me feel good, I was just trying to be somebody else. Like, by dressing the part. It's just like, that was always the point. And seeing this movement and that energy of it actually being this magical tool is so fun.
Molly Sims
Women are dressing more.
Erin Walsh
Women are dressing more. What about in la, though? Because obviously, I think more of.
Molly Sims
I think. I think, you know, you have your very fashion girls. Yeah, I think we're getting a little bit past the athleisure.
Erin Walsh
The cool thing is, even with the athleisure, I think you see people, like, even getting more intentional. And even when you get more intentional with the.
Emisha Gormley
With the.
Molly Sims
With the. With the hoodie, with, like, you can wear a tennis shoe, but you could wear, like, a flowy pan. Or you could wear, you know, athleisure pants, whatever.
Emisha Gormley
Like, totally.
Molly Sims
Just like a sweatshirt, a great white T shirt. Listen, there's nothing better than when I see someone in la, it's like a great white T shirt, a great pair of jeans. Like, it's chic.
Erin Walsh
I live in that, too. It's essential to have your essentials. So in terms of. You asked earlier about what should we have in our closet? The one thing I didn't do in the book was write, These are the 20 pieces you need in your closet. Because it really depends on what your life looks like. Are there classics that work for a reason? Yes, of course, but it's because of what they do. Like, a little black dress tends to make a lot of people feel elegant, you know, maybe even protected. It's black and sexy, like, or, you know, depending on the cut of it, of course. Does a blazer do a certain thing for most people? Yeah, it makes you feel empowered and strong, usually. Like, so there are, like, standards that you could think and of what your life looks like. And I find, like, to go back to postpartum, that period of, like, your life when you. It could even just be like, if you Think about, we're women, our bodies change every month or every day every week. So every week. So just having a range of knowing that you're not gonna necessarily want to feel the same every day, even if you have the same schedule, you might just not physically feel the same. So you need pieces that offer you compassion and ease and comfort and support in that sense too. But I mentioned postpartum, because in that period of dissociation, and you're in that the literal service industry, serving your kids, you need pieces that hold you up. Like, it's an easy time to like, only wear pajamas, but it's probably the. One of the worst things you can do for your mental health.
Molly Sims
That's what I don't love about, like, Brooks's age, like the middle school, high school. I'm like, I'm so tired of seeing fucking sweatpants and a tank top. Are there any summer trends you're loving or. I think summer trend.
Erin Walsh
What am I like? I have been into pops of red, but that's not so much summer. What am I excited for this summer?
Molly Sims
I love a pop of red.
Erin Walsh
I love.
Emisha Gormley
You can make red summer with a little lipstick.
Molly Sims
Yeah, exactly.
Emisha Gormley
Little lipstick on your. Just the rim.
Erin Walsh
But I love, like, translucent sunglasses. I just did a collab that has like, with lgr that has pink translucent lenses with like a maroon aviator shade, kind of oversized. In summer, I tend to, like a lot of you want to like, just feel cool. I wear a lot of different white, obviously. I did a collaboration with my friends at Laligne. You know that lean?
Molly Sims
Yeah, we love that color.
Erin Walsh
That collab was so good and it sold out. But like, what we really tried, it was like eight to 10 pieces. And I just wanted it to be easy, essential pieces that make you feel polished and like your best self. So they're meant to be like, airy and that you could put together a capsule traveling wardrobe in city or not. In terms of trends, I love white for summer cream. I do too. I do too. I just layer and that's the way I pack too. Just so you don't have to think too much about it.
Emisha Gormley
What are some of your favorite shoes?
Erin Walsh
I still believe in the Alaia flats. I wear those even to the beach. I never got the ro flip flops. I'm not a flip flop person. I feel like in terms of how you want to feel, even if I'm at the beach, it doesn't do it for me. I would need something chunkier. I love a good flat form or platform. I love a rubber chunky The Prada ones they were doing were so cool. Anything straw. I just love the idea of, especially in the summer having like, if you do it more tonal, you get more mileage out of all the pieces and you can keep like putting them together in like light layering in easy ways.
Molly Sims
I don't want to say it, but we ask every guest before they go, if you could give advice to your 10 year old self, what would it be?
Erin Walsh
Oh, God, like, love yourself. I was so hard on. I mean, I still can be, but I was so hard on myself. Whether that's like body like, but just like with all of it, never feeling like I was good enough. And I try to talk to my daughter about this and you know, with your kids, you can't just like tell them. You sort of have to embody it them to believe it. But yeah, I would say, like, go easy on yourself. Like you're more than enough.
Molly Sims

Molly Sims
And I also think, you know, on any given day, like whatever you're feeling, you can just channel that, right?
Erin Walsh
Yes. We're not stuck with like the circumstances ever.
Molly Sims
Yeah.
Erin Walsh
Give yourself that gift. Thank you for having me.
