Someone comes to you an hour later or a day later or a year later, however long it takes on average, how does their life, what did they come in with? And then how does their life change?
B
So someone can come in with anything, you know, and it's usually high performers that I work with and they're just stuck in their career. They're doing everything, but they just can't get to the next level. And it comes out as like procrastinating, overthinking, just like sleep issues or chronic illnesses and all kinds of things. And subconscious mind has all the answers.
A
How do you then hack the system when you're working with high performers to control this, manipulate this, or manage this to be the best version of yourself in business, sport, success, family, whatever, Huge.
B
Percent of people are just living in this reactive zone constantly. I'm just reacting to what's happening. And so we have a three step process that I teach in hypnotherapy and what I have learned. The first thing is my name is.

Welcome back to another episode of Living the Red Life. Joining me today is Julie, and we're going to have a really cool conversation about energy. How you optimize your energy to win in the game of life, the game of business, and why your energy and controlling your energy and environment is so important. This is something I'm a big fan of, especially in recent years. So excited to dive in. Welcome to the show.
B
Hi. Thanks, Rudy.
A
So let's dive into energy. Energy is this funny thing. I was a scientist, a sports scientist, and then I got into business and I used to, like, not believe in it all as much. Sounds like unless I can measure it and see it in a scientific paper.
B
You're one of those.
A
I was. I was okay. And then over time, I really, really saw more. The power of it and how controlling it can really change and shape your life and success. So I'm excited for today and talking about it. So let's start with who are you and why do you, you know, what do you do?
B
So my name is Julie Edmonds. I grew up in South Louisiana and the house that I grew up in was haunted.
A
Wow.
B
It was a home built in the 1700s and it became a hospital during the Civil War. And so thousands of people died there. So I grew up in this home that generations of our family grew up in, with spooky sounds and lights and lucid dreams and spirits hanging around me. And all of my friends that visited the house were terrified when they would stay. Stay there. And my brothers all could see these things. So I was sort of born into that kind of thing. So scientist or not, I just. That's what I saw. I thought that was normal.
A
Sure, sure. Okay. And then let's fast forward to today. What. What do you do with your, you know, your clients and when you speak and how do you help people?
B
Sure. Well, fast forward till today. I've built a large organization of sales offices, and through that time period, also certified in hypnotherapy. And intuitively have I've been able to heal through their energy as well as, like, removing their limiting beliefs through subconscious mind.
A
Great. And let's break that down. So just for the audience. So someone comes to you an hour later or a day later or a year later, however long it on takes on average, how does their life. What did they come in with? And then how does their life change?
B
Oh, that's a great question. So someone can come in with anything, you know, and it's usually high performers that I work with, and they're just stuck in their career. They're doing everything, but they just can't get to the next level. Level. And it comes out as like, procrastinating, overthinking, just like sleep issues or chronic illnesses and all kinds of things. And subconscious mind has all the answers. So we'll go into what I call the alpha brainwave state. So it's scientifically proven that you can get your mind into these waves. And in the alpha brainwave state, that's when you're sort of in the zone. It's kind of like you ever drove home and you're like, wait, I don't remember driving home. You know what I'm talking about? It's like that autopilot. So we get into that autopilot, and then I do regression, and then we'll go back into what's actually really happening. So the procrastination is stopping them and blocking them from moving ahead. But it's actually something that's protecting them. It's always a protection method. The fear, the anxiety, the depression, the procrastination. It's actually protecting them from. From something that they needed when they were very young. It's not serving them anymore, but it's showing up in adults, in an unconscious belief.
A
So how do you define and separate energy and mindset? Because a lot of that kind of crosses over into working on your mindset and then obviously controlling your energy. How do you separate them? And where's the slice down the middle?
B
It's a great question too. I don't think there's a separation. So I think our mind controls so much. We can connect to all of these spirits, energies, and other realms that we don't even know through space and time and quantum physics, you can collapse time and for sake of time and, you know, keeping it simple. Our energy is just who we are. We thrive on that.
A
But. But I bet there's a lot of people listening that believe in mindset and personal development like I used to, but they don't believe in energy work and energy stuff.
B
Got it. Got it. It exists. You can feel it. So if you ever around negative environment and you start feeling constricted, you can't breathe. That's just negative energy that's lowering your vibration. Do you know that there is. They bring. There's a study that showed that they were bringing these autistic children around dolphins, and it started to heal them just in that moment where it raises their vibration. Because dolphins vibrate at a different level than humans. And so when we raise our vibration, we raise all of our senses around us. And then you can start feeling, sensing and knowing other people's feelings, other people's energy. You know when to stay away. You know when to lean in. And I think being able to work on that is also a muscle. You have to work on it and really start staying.
A
Yeah, yeah. It's interesting. So what would you say to someone that maybe believes in mindset and they do personal development work, but they don't understand the energy side?
B
It's okay if they don't understand the energy side. You don't have to. I think training your brain to cut out some of those old limiting beliefs that aren't serving you anymore and empowering yourself for a whole new area, it just opens up this vessel to receive. And so when you have emotions, that's energy.
A
So they are doing energy work without knowing they are just by doing personal development unknown.
B
Correct.
A
Yeah, it is just interesting.
B
They don't have to know. They don't have to.
A
Sure, sure. So, so, but. So I heard this. Hey, you can quantify this for me. So I heard this thing about eight, nine years ago around mindset. And so I've always remembered it because I travel a lot and my immune system gets damaged and stuff. And I've always had a weak immune system. And I heard Gary Vee say one day that about 10 years ago he was traveling and really busy for business and he would get sick a lot. And he decided one day he just was never going to get sick again. And he's never been sick since.
B
I believe it. I 100% believe that.
A
So break that down for me. How does that work?
B
Well, okay, think about this. Stress is like the number one killer of everything. It, everything starts from stress. Where does stress come from? Our mind. If I think of something that I'm just freaking out about, it's starting in my mind because it's not really happening in the moment, but my body is responding to that and through anything. All types of things happen through stress. So if stress from your thoughts can kill you, then stress, I mean, excuse me. So your thoughts can also heal you.
A
Yeah, yeah. And to use stress as an example, you really control how you process stressful, potentially what you perceive as stressful situations. And the biological or scientific side of that is when your stress cortisol increases, which then can increase inflammation, lower your immune system and do all these things that can make you sick, as an example, or make you make bad emotional decisions, as an example. Right. And obviously when cortisol increases, your energy changes. Right. Your attitude changes and all those things. So. So I think that's a good way to maybe understand if you don't fully understand it, like I didn't used to and then I kind of connected more of the dots. And I do think it's so important talking about the perception because I see staff a lot that get stressed, right. My own businesses, I had two staff yesterday that were hosting a live call with one of my celebrity clients without me. I wasn't on it. And they were so stressed for like a week about it. I'm like. And they nervous asking me questions. And then yesterday was the day of the thing and they were asking me more questions. I'm like, you guys are overthinking this. Just start the damn zoom call and let him speak.
B
Exactly. Perfectionism, overthinking.
A
And then I had someone else that was stressed a week or so ago. I don't remember who, but they're so stressed about something. And I'm like, look, you should be this stressed when you get a half a million dollar lawsuit, not when you've got this little client thing or whatever it was. I don't remember what it was. Someone was late or they were behind or something. But it's interesting how that perception control Your chemical response in the body which changes your energy. Right, Yep.
B
Those types of responses are deep down beliefs that either I'm not good enough, I'm too different, or something's not available to available to me. There's only three patterns that really define everyone. When they overreact or they overthink.
A
But I also think it's lack of experience.
B
Well, the lack of experience of course. I mean, look, stress is good for you out of your comfort zone, it's good for you. Pushing themselves is good for you. But when you overreact, when you get triggered, when you're too, too much, too much, too much, where you should be a 4, but you're really at a 12 in your emotional response, that's where the space is where you need to stop.
A
Yeah, but, and, and I think some part of it in business is getting your reps in price. So like those two staff that were stressed about hosting the live Zoom for the celebrity, they've got to do it again in two weeks and their stress level should in theory be a lot lower the second time and then again, and if they do it every two weeks for a year, in a year's time, there's probably very little stress at that point because they built confidence too.
B
Yeah, I call that the zone of genius because you know, we have a zone of excellence when you're getting your reps in. But the zone of genius is when you can just show up and then just muscle memory it, you know, and, and that's really when you are using your subconscious mind, your alpha brain, which it changes the energy levels and you don't use as much energy when you do that.
A
In the, in my sports science days we call that the autonomous phase where you move into doing something without thinking about thousand percent. So, so let's get back to. That's a bit of a good like intro and segue. How do you then hack the system when you're working with high performers to control this, manipulate this or manage this to be the best version of yourself in business, sports, success, family, whatever.
B
Ooh, great, great. You know, huge percent of people are just living in this reactive zone constantly. I'm just reacting to what's happening. And so we have a three step process that I teach in hypnotherapy and what I have learned. The first thing is investigate your thoughts. The second thing is interrupt the pattern. And the third part is install a new belief. So let me break that down a investigate your thoughts again. When you feel that trigger that responsiveness, that or whatever, instead Pause. And you have to think about what's really going on. It's like if some. If you have a partner that's showing up late to dinner and you get really upset because deep down you're thinking, they just don't love me anymore. They're just not. What? They don't care about me if they really cared about me, when reality is they just got stuck in traffic. So we make up those stories, right? So pause. Investigate your thoughts. Cause there's a pattern. Break the pattern number two. So interrupt the pattern. Okay, wait, hold on. What's really going on? Let me listen to the story I'm telling myself. Let me flip it and say, wait, hold on. I am good enough. Maybe they're just stuck in traffic as this particular example. And third, install a new belief. The new belief is, hey, the person was late. I'm good enough. I'm worthy enough for someone to show up. So that's a simple, simple example. But those are the three steps.
A
And I have another tip for that example. If your spouse ever late. What I actually do is I just tell them to arrive an hour early. Oh, yeah, that's another secret for you guys that I learned. But no, I like that. So let's run it. One more scenario. Let's say the staff member was supposed to do a big report for a client forgotten. The client's upset. How would the business owner listening go through that process?
B
The client's upset. Okay, so. Well, I mean, obviously you have a right to be upset. I think the, the. I think the positioning here is, are they upset? In what degree are they upset at the same amount that they should be upset or.
A
Well, I mean, for the business owner, how does he control his energy?
B
Oh, got it.
A
Right. Because he's upset that his, his employee and he's dealing with an upset client. At the same time, he's getting a double whammy, which a lot of these people, you know, listening probably.
B
Okay, so obviously we can't focus on what's uncontrollable. So. And we can't go back in time and fix the situation and magically have some papers appear in front of me. So the other thing is, I take a deep breath and pause. Because in the pause is also where we can open up our brain to trust and relax. The power is in letting go. The power is in letting go. And that's where most people have problems, especially business owners. I myself control. I need to control. I can either control the outcome, and you have no control over it in that moment. So trust, relax Pause, take a deep breath. I don't want to say something that's going to hurt everybody. And then in that moment, I'm investigating my thoughts, I'm interrupting whatever's happening and have to come up with a solution quickly. I can't do that if I'm just going to fly off the seat of my pants. So take a deep breath, pause, trust, relax, and then let go of what happened. All right, what's the solution? I mean, it sounds simple, but most people don't do that. They just fly through it. It's trust, relax, Just pause for a minute.
A
Good. And then back to the bigger original question. What are the tips for people listening entrepreneurs to manage and maximize their energy to maximize their performance in life. What else should they be doing?
B
Well, besides disciplining your body, getting enough sleep and exercise and, you know, breathing exercises and things like that, a lot of people can logically just think their way out of things. And there's. That's great. Logical. Logically you can do that. But there is extreme power in connecting your soul and your divine grounding and the sciences out there for the lack of, you know, respect of time. I'm not going to go through grounding, but there is supreme power in taking deep breaths and breath work to increase the flow of your circulation, your energy, your brain, your mind, your spirit, everything that you can actually produce higher results in a very short period of time based on that. So it's breath work, it's mindfulness where I'm letting go, I'm opening up and allowing my mind to just talk to me and slowing down. Slowing down. Slow as fast, actually.
A
Yeah, love that. And say someone's listening and they want to get into. They're already into personal development, right. A mindset stuff. And then maybe they're listening, they're like, oh. The next thing is to really understand my energy and control my energy, not only of myself, but of other people in the environment. I want to talk about that last. The kind of last but not least because I think it's great. Do it working on yourself. But I am a big believer of you. Most like the people you spend your time with, not because only of their mindset and how they perceive things, but also the energy. Like, if they're all miserable, you're more likely to become miserable to lower vibration. Yeah. So how do they. How do they see that and understand that and process that? And like I always said, even before I knew what energy stuff was, even as a. In early, in my 20s, I say I live my life even In England in this like bubble or force field because everyone was miserable there and they didn't have goals and dreams.
B
You're bulletproof.
A
I had this little golden bubble around me in my head because I was so different.
B
Yeah.
A
And then eventually I moved to America because I was like the purple sheep, you know, in this.
B
That is so interesting because a lot of people would have taken the opposite route of like just, you know, decide to be miserable. Like everyone.
A
Yeah, well, everyone. Yeah, yeah, of course. That's why. Yeah. But, but so, but how do you. If you know, for people listen, how, how do you, how do you control that? You know, how do you build that? Like, obviously for me it was natural. And for some reason from my childhood or genetics or something, I didn't train that. It's just how I was. But a lot of people, they have to like, I mean, train that muscle.
B
They do. And I love that you said that. It's interesting because a is awareness. You know, we can just live with the sheep and the herd and just kind of, you know, you're miserable, so am I.
A
It's like in alcohol, right. And Anonymous, they say the first step is, is acceptance or awareness.
B
Accept your position.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I do think that's important. The first steps to realize, hey, these people are all miserable, but I don't.
B
Have to be 100%. So that goes back to mindset. Interesting that you said that. So mindset. So awareness is key. So if I'm looking around and people are miserable, it can rub off on you. I mean, I literally do these practices where it's almost like taking a shower. And it's every day, I think, through like this energy you can't just take. It's like taking a shower. You can't just have this amazing shower that you never have to take a shower again.
A
Because it's not just being people being miserable. I'm using that as an example, but I think broke. Broke mindset as well. Like, people are bad money mindset. Right. Because I see that with a lot of entrepreneurs, they get a little success and then family and friends are like, oh, don't invest in that.
B
Oh, totally. Other people's voices, other people's energy, other people.
A
And they have no right. Like they're not entrepreneurs. They have no. Like, it's like, it's like someone 300 pound overweight saying, I'll don't go to the gym taking a bite. Someone don't eat a salad. It's like, that would be stupid to listen. But you listen to broke people. Tell you not to invest in something. Right.
B
100%. So, okay. So, yeah. So create the environment you want to live in. Right. So I am attracted to people that are ambitious, that are excited and motivated, and I am like, ooh. Whenever I see someone that's, like, not feeling well, or there's a. There's a chart, and I wish I could find it and send it to you, but it talks about, like, jealousy and anger or just, you know, depression and those types of mindsets that really vibrate at a lower level. And sometimes it's not their fault.
A
And that's why most of the time, it's not their fault.
B
It's not their fault. It's just something deep inside that needs to be healed.
A
But it's like, it's like, it's not your fault. You all have white fur. As a sheep, I'm the purple sheep. You absolutely are normal. I'm the abnormal.
B
And so how do you rise above that, though? So it's not their fault in a lot of ways. And they don't even realize that the awareness is key. But so you realizing that. And there's no shame. There's no blame in any of that, because if I shame and blame and judge, then I'm also that person. So it's about.
A
It was a big pivot for me because in my early 20s, I would try and debate with everyone, like, in a healthy way, like, no money is good, or I should spend more money to make more money, or, like, if they were miserable, I'm like, well, you can quit your job. You know, I would try and have these debates of normal people, like my family.
B
I was falling on deaf ears.
A
Yeah. And you're, like, so passionate about it because you're an entrepreneur. You're like, you can absolutely start a business. You realize you don't have to work that job for 40 years. Right. And it's just like talking to a brick wall, you know? So then once I got to probably 28, like, even when my mom or close family would talk about, like, money or savings, I, like, they would even say 10 minutes later, are you listening? And I'd be like, no, I'm very transparent. Like, they know. I'm like, no, I'm not listening.
B
Maybe you're just stubborn.
A
Oh, yeah. But. But I would learn to, like, just switch off blocking.
B
But that's actually blocking energy. It's blocking energy. So there it is.
A
Right when I tell them I got the force field around. Anytime you talk negative, you complain. You talk about a problem. Bad money thing. I Just, it's like this force field goes around me. I can't. It doesn't penetrate through. It's like, yeah.
B
Wow, that's awesome. Nice.
A
But how'd you build that? How'd you build that?
B
I think just growing up in a haunted house and being around a lot of just energetic force fields that I couldn't see, I was hyper vigilant. Just, you know what, I need to block stuff out because I'm just getting inundated with. It's like you're trying to sleep and you have all these strangers in your room. And like, I'm like that kid on Sixth Sense. I see dead people. Like, no. So I think for me, I just became extraordinarily hyper vigilant, which helped me in the business life because then rejection, objections, you know, all of these negative people and you know, in sales you're going to get every type of rude no in the world. It's like, no means next. Yeah, no means throw it over your shoulder. Doesn't mean personal things for me.
A
You know, love that. And if people are listening, last comment to them, where do they start to learn more about this? Like, where can they go to learn from you? What books would you recommend?
B
Well, I listen, I am a hardcore fan of Dr. Joe Dispenza. He breaks it down scientifically, beautifully. You know, he talks about neuroplasticity and breaking, you know, the patterns of our, of our synapses in our brains and those types of things. So Dr. Joe Dispenza, my mentor and trainer in hypnotherapy and she's world renowned. She works with royalty and celebrities. Her name is Marissa Peer. She, she will, you know, again, those are the types of people that I listen to. And then of course, from a scientific perspective, you know, there's Andrew Huberman. Yeah, how did you know? I was going to say, you see, we're on the same wavelength. Andrew Huberman. I was going to say that. Look at that. That right there, that's energy. We're exchanging energy. And he actually read my mind.
A
How's it going?
B
That's pretty impressive. Yes.
A
So last question. If they want to learn more about you, contact you about any of this, or find out more about what you're doing, where do they go to?
B
Yeah, you go to my website, healinglifetherapy.com or you can connect with me on Instagram. It's just Julie Edmonds, E D M O N D S underscore. And Also I'm on LinkedIn with that as well. So Anna wrote a chapter in your book, so you can find me there.
A
Yep. Well, guys, I hope you enjoyed that. And hopefully you learned a lot. And it really got you thinking, like, the more billionaires I've hung out with and the highest top athletes in the world, they all are. You know, I mean, the progression from mindset and personal development is this. And it's so important as a business owner because you get so much thrown at you controlling your energy and environments. Key for not only success, but I think sanity just as much.
