hey folks, Aaron here. Welcome back to another edition of Deeper Lore. This is a bonus episode that's designed to serve as a topical guide to the most recent episode of Lore. In this short bonus episode, I'll dig into our archive of over 11 years of episod episode topics and point out some old ones that fit nicely with this week's newest. And the hope is that you can keep the spooky feeling going well into the weekend and maybe put a handful of old episodes into a new and more powerful context. So let's get started for this week. In episode 311, Twice Upon a time we stepped into the afterlife for a glimpse at something that's kept cultures around the world talking for millennia. Reincarnation. But it's not the first time that we've discussed matters of life and death on this show. So here. Here are three older episodes that will pair up nicely with this week's brand new one. First, episode 72, a grave mistake. You can't talk about death without discussing one of our greatest fears ever, being buried alive. And this episode does a great job of unpacking this very misunderstood bit of folklore. Next, download episode 122, the Shortest Straw. Now, I'll be honest, you need a strong stomach for this one. But if we're going to talk about matters of life and death, we need to address the topic of cannibalism. Toss in a boat and a legal trial and you got yourself a fascinating episode. And finally, there's episode 284, Grounded. It might only be from last year, but this fun episode covers a ton of incredible burial folklore. It's a classic sort of lore episode in that it does a good general survey around the world, and then it zeroes in on a handful of wild example stories. I love it, and I think you will too. And there you go. Follow up this week's brand new episode with a trip into the past. Episodes 72, 122, and 284 are waiting for you in this podcast feed. You can just scroll through your app to find them, tap on their direct links in this episode description or even see their numbers in the episode title and go looking for them elsewhere. And until next time, folks, stay spooky.

Hey, it's Ryan Reynolds here from Mint Mobile. Now, I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited Premium Wireless for $15 a month is back. So I thought it would be fun if we made $15 bills, but it turns out that's very illegal. So there goes my big idea for the commercial. Give it a try@mintmobile.com switch upfront payment

Closing catchphrase:
Aaron Mahnke adopts his signature blend of curiosity and eerie storytelling, introducing each recommended episode with both genuine enthusiasm and a touch of caution ("you need a strong stomach for this one").
If you enjoyed the exploration of reincarnation in Episode 311, Aaron suggests revisiting — or discovering for the first time — three previous Lore episodes that highlight humanity’s ongoing fascination (and sometimes terror) with death and what lies beyond. From the fear of being buried alive, to the moral complexities of survival in dire situations, to the cultural quirks of burial customs, these episodes deepen the experience of Lore and promise to "keep the spooky feeling going."
All episodes mentioned are available in the Lore feed and directly linked in the episode description.
