Andy Schoonover is the founder and CEO of CrowdHealth, a community-powered alternative to traditional health insurance that is rethinking how Americans pay for and access healthcare. His journey began after his own family was hit with an $8,000 medical bill for his daughter's ear procedure… despite having health insurance. Frustrated by a system he believed was putting bureaucracy and financial incentives ahead of patients, Andy decided to build a better alternative. Through CrowdHealth, Andy is working to give individuals greater control over their healthcare, increase price transparency, reduce unnecessary costs, and put the patient, not the insurance company, back at the center of the system.
