The music is a blend of World/Afro Beat grooves with the distinctive vocal chants inherent to the New Orleans Black Masking Indians tradition.

What happens when you combine musicians and dancers on a stage performing live trying to work through the many ills in society that affect the lives of Black people daily in America? The result yields the Marcus Miller Ensemble and Lula Washington Dance Theatre performing together. This is an excerpt from a performance at Indiana’s Butler University in 2014.
