Mike Glover (5:02)
It is completely gone now with BPC157 I'm feeling stronger. Going to the gym, working out and rest and recovery has been super important. A lot of my rest and recovery protocol has to do with getting a good night's sleep and sticking to a very specific routine. So when I wake up I do eggs, I do carnival and I'm gonna start doing a carnival. Is a actually got a bag here. Carnival is a freeze dried. Why do you have a bag of meat by your foot? I'm sponsored by Carnival meaning they sponsor this podcast. So big shout out to Carnival. But it's top sirloin, beef, chicken and pork that is freeze dried. Now this is 25 year shelf life food. This would be stuff that you would sit on a shelf and Just fire and forget. But it's also constituted reconstituted in five minutes with your favorite whatever. I use bone broth from bare bones. Delicious bone broth. Oh my gosh, I love bone broth. That adds an additional 20 grams. I use two packets, so that's 20 grams of protein to already 25 grams of protein in an individual serving pack, which they do sell. And I add that to my eggs. There are studies, a lot of studies that show the importance of getting that protein early in the morning and also eating breakfast. Eating breakfast is a very important part of your day. It curbs your appetite at night so you don't have those cravings at night where you're just walking into the fridge in the middle of the night, which I often do if I don't eat breakfast. And also maintaining muscle mass. I'm 230 pounds. I mean, I'm actually 225 pounds. I'm actually feeling pretty lean. You could see a little bit of muscle definition for the first time on my. My big body. I'm 225 pounds right now because I'm fasting. You guys could follow along with fasting journeys. I do a fast with my patrons on Patreon every quarter. But I need the protein. There's a recommendation of 1.5 grams per pound of body weight, which is a lot of protein. I do 1 gram per pound of body weight, which is 230 grams of protein. So getting that in the morning, super important, right? Also, that direct sunlight in your eye. I have a window which is providing the light during this podcast because I'm broke and don't have a lot of lighting for the studio. But that natural light is so important because it sets your circadian rhythm. Your pattern of sleep behavior is set first thing in the morning when that blue light from the sun, that UV spectrum of light goes into your eye. I was somebody who always wears sunglasses, which is why my Asian facial features at the age of 46 still looks decent. I haven't been demolished by the sun. But getting that blue light in the eye is a first part of my day outside of eating breakfast. In addition to that, I started kettlebell routines. Mountain fitness or Mountain Tough? Is it Mountain Tough? I don't look. I. All these companies I'm mentioning, I don't work with. I just use their stuff and I appreciate their stuff. I'll link them all down below. If I do have an incentive for you for that company, I'll link it down as well. Mountain Tough is an app. These guys are Based in Montana, where you could do workouts on the go. Their kettlebell routine is an awesome routine, something that you could take into a hotel room, into an Airbnb, and there's no excuse. I'm also getting 10,000 steps a day. That's uber important as well, because I want mobility, I want movement. Look, I'm not. I'm not trying to get jacked at my age. What I am trying to do is stay fit, stay flexible and mobile and still have cardiovascular fitness just in case I need to take my kids to the zoo. Not off the X. That's a benefit, right? That's the. That's the contingency benefit of working out and being healthy. If something goes wrong, yeah, you could survive, but just an active lifestyle. Taking my kids to zoo, picking them up, putting them on my back. If I'm not able to do that, I'm not able to be the most present and capable father that I can be. And that's up to me. That's up to me. What other routines am I adding? Oh, protein. In addition to carnival, I do meat and beef liver snacks. These are the only two snacks that I need. Why? Because they fulfill my cravings. One, there's this bar called Prime. I wish I had a picture of it. It's called Primal Bar, Primal Power bar, Primal Fuel bar, something like that, where they integrate beef liver into dates, which are the most delicious thing on the planet. You get 10 grams of protein in a bar, you get your intake of B12, and it's amazing. It tastes amazing, by the way. I do two of them a day. One, two. One in the morning, one in the afternoon. And I've. I very much look forward to that meal or that snack in between meals. And I do Wasachway Goofy Wagyu beef sticks. Why? Because I know the guy. It's a local business. I support his local business, and they're delicious. So I have two very clean snacks that I do every day, simplifying my life, my night, my life is not that complicated. And at the end of the day, I talk to you about my sauna routine. I'm doing the sauna thing. The most profound thing that I've ever done in all of this stuff is, is reducing the amount of time, the amount of screen time I have on social media. I'm. I'm really never on Instagram. If I do a post and you see, you guys see me on Mike A. Glover or Mike Glover actual, I'm just posting and I'm deleting my account and it's not on my phone. Why? Because I'll scroll it. I do have Facebook Marketplace, which is a secret habit of mine, which. Whoa. I spent a lot of time on Marketplace, but. But I've even been reducing that amount of time, 20 minutes max per day I spend on my phone. Why? Because I feel better. You're getting dopamine. You're getting all these feelings of highs when you're on social media, in comment threads, worried about the next drama. And I don't want that drama living rent free in my head. Last but not least. I know I said last but last but not least. And and I I must say this with the time that I have during fast because I'm not eating three meals a day. I'm not preparing and eating and cleaning up. I've dedicated a lot of my time in my day in scripture in prayer. I do a show now called Preaching the Choir, which is another channel of mine where I do Sunday episodes starting next week, maybe this week, I'll be doing not preaching to the choir, but practicing. What you preach is a segment of my channel where we do Bible study, digging into scripture, and it's my selfish way of holding myself accountable, but by benefit. I hope you get something out of it as well. If you have some extra time, use that time wisely. Choose wisely. As the master used to say, choose wise. Re and when you reallocate that time, reallocate it into something that's going to give back into your life. Be present with your children, your family, your friends, actually have conversations with them, read scripture, listen to podcasts that talk about positive things that educate you. I hope that's one of the reasons you listen to my podcast, because I hope it provides you that kind of value. All right, guys, it's time to transition. Let's get into it. Let's get into this situation in Iran. Before I get into Iran, I do want to mention this issue with Joe Kent that you guys have saw me comment about. I on my patreon had a post where I said, look, two things could be true at once. Joe Kent could be a patriot and he could also not like the administration's policies. But so many people are beholden to their religion that happens to be a political party, a political person, a political movement. I don't subscribe to any politicians, movements or policies because one, I don't trust them. But I would default my trust to somebody with committed, consistent experience. Joe Kent, when he was a Green Beret or working for the CIA or when he was in Africa when His wife was killed in Syria. Serving our country wasn't doing it for the gram. He was doing it because he loves his country. Not loved loves his country. And it's interesting to see the division amongst the population between supporting Joe Kent and this ideology of wars potentially are bad. I know that from experience because I fought in war my entire teens, my late teens and all my 20s and most of my 30s was committed to a life in service and my profession, my specific duty and responsibility brought me to war, took me to war and took a lot of my life, a lot of my time and a lot of my teammates. Now I have no regrets because I served and committed voluntarily to the service of the nation. But the nation's priorities were skewed because of the crooked politicians that were in positions of power able to manipulate people and direct are armed forces overseas. I did five, did I do six or. I've been to Iraq a lot years of my life committed of the four years of comment that I have in service in combat in Iraq where we we never should have been. We never should have been in Iraq. There was no wmd. There was no reason or justification that we articulated so well using Colin Powell. I remember it because I was in the Q course at the time going through training. We lost lot lot of Americans, 3,000 plus Americans there. And veterans like myself and Joe Kent ask why Was it for the right reasons? We like this, we like to use this term imminent threat. You know Joe Kent knows that word better than anybody I know he was a tier one operator in orange. He was a Green Beret and he served as a ground branch paramilitary operations officer in the CIA. Who knows that world understanding terrorism and imminence of threat more than Joe Kent. Nobody for sure. Not a politician. And I felt slighted when I heard the President of the United States criticizing Joe Kent, calling him a nice guy but a guy who's weak on security. What so the day before he resigned he was a patriot, a war fighter. Someone who had served and sacrificed everything for his country including the life of his wife killed by a suicide bomber in Syria. I hear Dan Bongino running his suck on social media. A man who literally said there's nothing in the Epstein files which we all publicly now know is completely false. And there's more to the story. He himself resigns and he's. I don't even want to get vulgar here because I'll keep it clean for this episode but he wants to chalk it up as it's some conspiracy how he's some disgruntled employee. No, he's a warrior, a patriot, and he's telling the truth. I still haven't heard what the imminent danger was that justified us losing nearly a dozen Americans and being committed to war, a full scale war. Now, that war, according to the Trump administration, is under scrutiny and has a high likelihood of ending very soon. But we've heard that for the last several weeks. This is nearly going on for a month. Gas prices are up 30% in the last two days. They've gone up a dollar in my own hometown per gallon. Why is that happening? Well, the Strait of Hormuz is shut off because the Iranians are launching drones and striking ships that are coming through the corridor. So it's down to zero moving through the strait. You look at 20% of natural gas, oil, commodities moving through the Strait of Hormuz that are not just supplying us, but supplying to who are partners, our trade partners. There's delays logistically across the board for most companies here in America. The stock market obviously is being affected by this. Oil and gas prices are going up. And we just deployed this is open source information, the 82nd Airborne Division to the region. At the same time, we're saying that diplomatic efforts with this 15 part plan are looking good. Now, members of the Iranian regime, mostly the rgc, because that's who's in charge, are saying they're not talking to the administration, and these are lies. But the administration has claimed they're talking to a group who has just gifted them a prize, a significant prize, according to Trump, and that's happening in real time. So the case in point for all this is one, committing ourselves to war and conflict because of the motivations of a foreign country are not in the best interest of our country. That is the platform, that is the speaking bits and pieces that were communicated across the campaign, across all the key players, that we are not going to recklessly get into war. And in my opinion, we just did. Now, again, I'll state the claim that again, multiple things to be true at once, the irgc, the Iranian regime, the Ayatollah, needed to be taken out. But can you take out surgically these elements, clandestinely, these elements, without committing us to war or troops on the ground? The answer is yes.
