Good evening and welcome to Monsters Among Us. I am your guide, Derek Hayes. Folks, I have a good one for you here tonight. A vast array of tales ranging from odd lights in the sky to odd figures outside your windows and everything in between. So pull up a seat, crank that volume and let's get our spooky on. Beginning with a bit of a monster story. Please welcome Brad out of New York.
E
Hi, this is Brad from Western New York. I just wanted to call in and share a story from childhood. I was probably 4 or 5. This would have put about 88, 89. And I had woken up in the middle of the night, couldn't get back to sleep. I went into my parents room and asked if I could sleep with them and they said yes and I got in between them. The bedroom is on the second floor for reference. But I just started going to sleep and there's this bright brilliant light that woke me up. And coming from the window to my right is a bright light and there is a flat window shade over it. And on that shade was a dark humanoid silhouette. It was really dark. If this was something I saw, it was up against the glass but wasn't diffused, you know, being further away. And it moved a little bit. I remember being that young, thinking it was a kid outside and the hands went and pressed up against the glass like it was trying to get in. So I ducked my head down under the covers and rolled away and kind of curled up into a wall. And the next thing that I know, my parents are waking me up in the morning. It's just been a weird thing that has stuck with me for 35 years now. Every couple of years I'll dream about it and I'm right back there. It's something I don't know how to classify, but it definitely left an impression on me. I really do enjoy the show. Just wanted to share my experience. Thank you.
B
Thank you, Brad. You know, friend of the show and co host of Bigfoot collectors club, Michael McMillan also tells a similar story. In his Los Angeles home. He was awakened to see a similar menacing figure outside his window. Now, not to put words in Michael's mouth, but I believe he attributed to sighting to an alien, possibly based on the body size and shape. So maybe there's a race of alien being out there that just loves peeking into windows and perhaps they're active coast to coast. Thank you again Brad for getting things kicked off here tonight. And in the spirit of strange beings, please welcome Anonymous out of parts unknown.

Hello. So I have called a couple times before regarding this house that my mother and father in law still live in, that we lived in at one point. How the people that were renting it before us had the black carpet and the red walls. Like I don't know, I seem like devil worshiping or something. But they also have this black lining. It looked like trash bags, those big black giant trash bags. But it was like this black lining that went all around, like almost the whole backyard of the house. Like they didn't want nobody to see their yard. I don't know if suspicious activity was going on there. But anyways, like around 2006, my son, he was 4 years old and his great grandma was watching him there. And it was just her and him. Everyone else went to work, so I dropped them off. She's watching him. And so then when I came home that evening to pick him up, she pulled me aside and she's like, hey, I just want to let you know that there was an incident that happened. And I said what happened? And she said, well, the UPS or the FedEx guy had came and I had a sign, a form, she said. So I went to the door and as I was signing she's like, your son ran to me super scared. But I couldn't really pay attention to him at that time because I was talking to the FedEx guy. And so she said, when I was done Talking to the FedEx guy, I came in back inside and I said, hey, you know, what's wrong? Why are you crying and why are you freaking out? And he's telling her there's a man in the backyard. And he's pointing and he's like, there's a man in the backyard with ugly face. You know, it's on the country, so it could be anyone. So she goes out there, she's looking, she's looking. So she didn't see anything. But the way my son was scared scare her. So she thought she should tell me. To this day, I don't know if he saw a regular person or he saw a ghost, but I just think it was just, you know, creepy because of all the other creepy stuff that happened in that house and because that house just gives off a vibe when you're in there. I don't know if he remembers. Maybe I should ask him, you know, what he saw and I'll see if he remembers and maybe I'll call back. Thanks, Bye.
B
Thank you, caller. Now, I'm sure most listeners are like me and they also want to know if he indeed remembers and if so, what was the entity to him? You know, it's creepy regardless of who or what the entity was, caller, especially considering all the other activity going on at the home. So we thank you again for taking the time to call in. Now folks, I have to pay a couple of bills real quick, but fear not because I'll be right back.

Now, up next is one of those knocking ghost. Please welcome Lily out of South Carolina.
D
Hi, Derek, this is Lily from South Carolina. This call pertains to a spooky paranormal incident I had at a house in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It's when I was living with my first husband, Boyd. We were in this house that he claimed to have incidents in where he says he was attacked by a succubus several times. So I was about 21 at the time. And I was like, yeah, yeah, cool, whatever. And just thought he was making up stories to kind of like, I don't know, impress me or whatever. Anyway, we didn't have any roommates at this time. There was a room at the front of the house that a roommate was currently quote, unquote, occupying. He had left to go on tour and he had padlocked the door shut. Now, the layout of the house was all the bedrooms were down the left side of the house. So it went that roommate's room, me and my husband's room in the middle, and then a room at the very end, which is of no consequence. But the first room in the middle room, our room was connected by a door, but this door was locked off. It was even barricaded by a small dresser that had a mini fridge on it. So it was, I'd say, kind of like late summer, early fall. And I was home alone at the time. I was standing in the bedroom. I had just gone to the mini fridge to grab a Pepsi and it was like late afternoon. My husband had already left to go to work. He usually worked like after 2 o'. Clock. And as I'm standing there cracking open this drink, all of a sudden there was three knocks from the door that went to the front room. I just kind of stood there for a second, like, what? And I thought maybe that roommate had come home. And I just, I didn't know you know, like, I was like, whatever. I just woken up, what have you. Because we worked late nights. We were in the restaurant business. So I go out and I see the door to the room, and it's still got the padlock on it. And another aspect to this room was it did also have a door from the outside to the inside. I went outside, and I looked at that door, like, maybe somehow he went in there. I didn't even know that door opened. There was, like, a screen door, and then the door itself. And you could tell, like, with the leaves and the cobwebs and the whatnot, like, nobody had opened that door. And so when I went to open it, like, everything was like a seal cracking. Like, all the leaves and cobwebs and everything kind of, like, broke loose. And then you could tell that the door was open, none of the windows had been disturbed, nothing. And I was like, what's going on? Well, this roommate hadn't been there for months and months and months. So I was like, you know what? Here we go. I'm cracking open this room. It's time we had access to this room, because now the whole house is ours. It was a rental, but, like, we've had front of the whole place. And so I got a screwdriver, and I unscrewed the latch thing that had the padlock on it and open it up. And as I went in there, there was nothing knocked over. There was nothing amiss. It was exactly as the roommate had left it. I mean, he was kind of like a traveler, so he had a lot of stuff just kind of, like, stack places. But I had been in there prior to him leaving, and I knew. So anyway, I was like, okay. And I opened up the door, and I just left the door open. And I was like, hey, if you want to come out, you can come out. It's no big deal. Like, hey, let's hang, because ghosts don't scare me. Anyway, my husband came home, and friends came over and everything, and I was telling him about what had happened. And this was back in the early 2000s, like 2002. Like, it's right at the time where digital cameras were just coming out. And one of the guys that was hanging out with us had one of these digital cameras, and he's like, hey, let's take some pictures. Maybe we'll get some orgs. And I was like, yeah, let's do it. He snapped a couple of pictures, and my little cat, Echo, was sitting at the edge of the door, looking into the room right at an Orb. It was captured in the picture, and we were like, whoa, cool. So the friend took the camera home, and he was going to upload the pictures into his computer, and we went over to his house several weeks later, and I was like, hey, where's that picture? And he goes to pull it up on his computer. We could not find that picture. That picture was gone. Every other picture that was on the goal that we had taken that night was there, except for the picture of Echo looking at the orb. It was just really wild. So we always left that door open so, you know, the ghost could come and go or not feel like it had to be trapped. So, yeah, that was really strange. All right, Derek, thank you so much. Appreciate everything you do. Have a wonderful night and happy New Year.
B
We appreciate the entry, Lily. And it sounds like something was active in that room, and if whatever it was didn't enter through either door, well, then that makes whatever it was a real mystery. We thank you again, Lily, for sharing. Now, gang, if you have a tale you would like to share here on the show, give our hotline a call at 888-6089. That's 888-608-night. Or record your story as a voice memo and email it to us at monsters among us podcastmail.com and it's about that time, folks. Whatever you're reporting, get them into me soon, because that episode is coming up quickly now. Speaking of ghostly hands knocking, please welcome Sarah out of Florida.
D
Hey, Derek. This is Sarah from Florida. I grew up in this little town up in northeast Illinois, and the house I grew up in was built in the early 1900s, and it was haunted. We had a number of experiences there, and my mother was a firm believer in all that because her family came from Ireland. She had a number of stories herself. Anyway, we were sitting around the kitchen table eating dinner one night, trading off ghost stories and everything, and my dad was sitting there getting really annoyed, and finally he just kind of put his fist on the table and he said, there are no such things as ghosts. And right then, bang. Something hit the kitchen window really hard, and we just all sat there kind of motionless with our mouths hanging open. My dad sat there real quiet, too, for a second, and then he said, that was a bird. And later I went outside and there was no bird, you know, under the window there. But I just thought that was kind of a funny story. All right, thank you. Enjoy your podcast. Bye.
B
Thank you, Sarah. They sure showed him, didn't they? Whoever they are. Now, having a ghost bang on a wall or pound on a window is one thing, but when one reaches out and touches you, well, that presents a whole new nightmare. Please welcome Joanna out of California.
D
Hi, Derek. This is Joanna from the Bay Area in California. So back in 2022, I was in the master bedroom with my daughter, who was nine at the time. It was the evening, it was really quiet. We were kind of wanking down. The TV was off, the air was off. It was very silent in the room. I was scrolling and my daughter was on her iPad. And then out of nowhere, we heard this really loud noise. It was like a ding. And it took us a second, but we both reacted to the noise. We both looked up at the same time. I looked at her. She heard the noise too. You know, when I heard it, I couldn't really identify what it was. It wasn't glass, it wasn't metal. I couldn't put my finger on it. We kind of waited to see if the noise would happen again, and nothing happened. So that's that. Well, went to bed that evening, and around 2:00am in the morning, I am suddenly awoken from a noise. And initially I'm like, okay, was that the same noise I heard earlier in the evening? But I kind of tried to like, explain away like, oh, you know, that's probably like a auditory hallucination. And, you know, I could have woken up from any think. So I lay down in bed and tried to go back to sleep. And I'm kind of tossing and turning and all of a sudden there's that noise again. My heart starts racing and I'm like, well, I have to get up and I have to go investigate. So I jump out of bed and turn on the lights really fast because I'm scared. And I'm kind of, you know, looking around the room. I haven't a general idea of where the noise came from. And I look at the bottom shelf towards the back of the room, and on the bottom of the shelf there is this little solo stove in like a little bag that has like a little cinch with the paracord at the top. Sitting next to it is this very comically large coffee cup. And I kind of walk over to it to see like, you know, did something like, fall over? Because now that I'm looking at the coffee cup, I'm like, you know, something hit that. It sounded like something hitting ceramic because it wasn't glass, it wasn't metal. And I take the little paracord cinch thingy, and I kind of tap it against the coffee cup. And guess that is exactly the noise. And the thing that's weird is the paracord is only hanging, like, 2, 3 inches. There's no air blowing on it at all. Someone would have had to do that. And, like, it has been sitting there for two years at this point, you know, collecting dust. We haven't used it. And it never, ever made that noise. That never was an issue. I kind of like, that's enough of that. You know, I kind of shoved the paracord, like, inside the bag to make sure, like, nothing was hanging out and thought that was that. After I shoved the paracord back inside the bag, I can't get back into bed. And I'm a little freaked out. And I'm laying in bed trying to calm myself back down. And that same evening, I'm laying there, and I see all of a sudden, something move in the corner of the room from where I'm laying. And it is this, like, shadow thing. I don't know if it was wearing a hat or not. I was. So the fear. I'm, like, shaking, and it comes towards me. I feel its hand on the bed on my bottom of my leg. And it starts sliding its hand up my body as it walks towards me. I could feel it over the covers. It started sliding its hand up my leg towards my body. And I think I was in that, like, fight or flight mode. And I lightning speed, jumped out of bed, slammed on the lights, nothing's there. So, yeah, no more sleep happened that night. And the next day, I showed my daughter the noise, and she said, yeah, that's exactly what we heard. And I hadn't really told my husband the second part, which was like, the shadow person. We sleep in separate bedrooms because he gets up early and I get up later, so he sleeps in a separate bedroom. And he said, you know, it's really weird. That night, I think I had some sort of, like, nightmare or something happened to me. He was awoken in the middle of the night, and at the edge of his bed, he saw a shadow person. And then when he went to go look at it, he saw duck under the bed. And he was like, gotta get up and check that out. So he got out of bed, flipped on the light, nothing was there. It's kind of a weird, isolated event. I don't like talking about it because I feel like it encourages something else to happen and I'm kind of a big scaredy cat. But we've not had anything really else happen in the house and our house isn't like some old haunted house or anything like that. You know, I think it was built in the 60s. Nobody's died in it. But I wanted to share with you. Thank you so much for the podcast. I've been really enjoying it. Bye.
B
Thank you Joanna. Finding out that the strange noise was coming from inside the room with you, that's bad enough. But to have whatever it was making the sound run its hand up your body, that's tough to recover from. And to have your husband have a similar encounter on the very same night, well, that sounds like validation to me. Thank you again Joanna for taking the time to share your shiver inducing entry.

D
Hi, I want to be anonymous with my story. This happened in basically Glendale, Arizona, so Phoenix. I live by the Cardinal Stadium, which is not too, too far away from the Luke Air Force Base. And I remember I was at home and you can always hear the jets or whatever's flying by, you know, helicopters, whatever's coming from the Luke Air Force Base. But there was a day, it was about six or seven o' clock at nighttime. So this was probably around November of 2023. The sun was already going down, but you could see a little bit in the air but not too much. So I just remember doing laundry, having the TV on. It wasn't blaring loud, but I remember hearing like I'm like, oh, there goes another jet flying over or whatever. But this one sounded different. I was like, why does it feel like it's just hovering, like it's just not moving? The sound of whatever it was was not moving. You can hear it pass by, you know, but it just felt like it was just lingering. And then I realized I was like this kind of engine or whatever this is. It doesn't sound like it's moving. It just sounds like it's hovering. What is it? So finally, I pop my head outside and I see two to three lights. And at first I'm like, oh, maybe it's just three jets flying at the same speed at the same time. But as I went outside again, the engine sounded almost as if it was humming like a. And I remember being like, what? Like, this feels weird. And I'm looking at it move, and it's not moving as fast, but it's gliding. And I'm like, I can keep my eyes on it. And it's not like jetting off, but you could just hear it going, like. And I'm like, okay. It's just. Yes. But then I look closer. I'm like, how are they moving at the exact same speed at the exact same distance away from each other? And as soon as I called my fiance out at the time and said, baby, come here, come look at this. What is this? What is this? Then he's like, I don't know. I was like, why are they all moving at the same time? Do you hear it? Sounds like a weird jet, huh? He's like, I don't know. And I wanted to grab my phone and record it, but I'm a firm believer in mind your business. They know you're looking at them, and you start posting, you're gonna get in trouble. So I just looked at him and said, we gotta go inside. We can't be out here right now. I don't know what's going on, but let's go. And after that. I've never heard another jet like that fly over. Could have been UFOs, it could have been some. I don't know what the hell it was. All I know is it was a weird engine. It was a humming. Things are moving in the sky. And that's my story, and I hope you post this. And maybe someone else seen something in Phoenix around that time. November around 2023. Glendale area, not too far from the Luke Air Force Base. Thank you. Bye.
B
Thank you, caller. Now, when we get a UFO call like this one, one of the first things we do is cross check for similar sightings. Same description from the same location at around the same time. And we came up short this time around. No one else seemed to witness or at least report the same thing that are collar dead. But that doesn't mean the area isn't rife with activity. In fact, an article from the war zone back in 2023 details a rise in sightings near military bases in the state of Arizona. As our caller mentioned, Luke Air Force Base is near where this experience took place. And furthermore, the unidentified objects in the article describes almost exactly what our caller just reported. Here's a direct quote from that article. Witnesses encountered small unidentified objects, sometimes in swarm, like groups of as many as eight. These incidents and many more all occurred in or around various military air combat training ranges in Arizona. Since January 2020, there have been a number of encounters between military aircraft and what are being described as groups of craft flying together in the past three years or so in this specific part of the United States. Unidentified craft flying in bunches. That sure does sound familiar. Now it's no secret that there are all sorts of unidentified objects in the skies above Arizona, but we still appreciate the story. Caller. Thank you for sharing your experience with whatever they are. Now gang, don't forget you can support the show and get yourself some well made Monsters Among Us gear in the process. Just by visiting our shop at monsters among us podcast.com and by clicking on the shop tab, get yourself something nice today. Now this next entry is one of those glitch in the matrix type calls. Check this one out. From Ty in California,
A
hey Derek, this is Ty again from la. This takes place in, I want to say January of 2023. So this was a trip that me and my best friend of the 40 some years took up to LaFle, Nevada. We stayed at the Edgewater Hotel up there for about four days. And so the way that works is, you know, we stayed in one of the towers, I believe there are two towers, I think it was the Sedona Towers they call it. And so the way this would work is when you went to the elevators to get to your room, there were four elevators on one side and then four elevators on the other side. That's how we went to and from our room. And the way it would work is usually when we'd come down to the casino floor, no matter what side you were on, there was a hallway that only let out one way, right? And so when you were walking down the hallway, if you went to your right and they made a quick left, there was a gift shop. And then if you turn to your immediate left, you walked down a short hallway, maybe 10ft or 15ft or so, and then you kind of let out to the casino. So this was probably about mid afternoon on our second day of the four days and we were coming down like we had done now several times. And when we get to the bottom and the doors Opened, not only are the other four elevators that should be there, not there, but the room looks completely different, which is odd. And so in this case, when we get off normally we should be able to turn to our right and go down the little hallway. In this case, there's just a wall there. We can only go to our left. And it's an odd building. It looks different now. It's conformed differently. So we kind of follow this building around. It's kind of a long hallway and it kind of keeps curving around to its left. I think we end up walking probably about a good maybe 30, 35ft. And then we look to our left and there's only one way out. It's like a set of double doors. And one door is open, one door is closed, rather. So as we walk our way out this door, we find out we're in the casino. But it's a completely different part of the casino. In other words, we're like almost like on the opposite end of the casino. It's a rather large casino. But I remember that where we got out at, there was a bar, kind of a good sized bar that was kind of to the side. And we were at that point. In other words, there's no way that we should have gotten out there. I mean, that was probably halfway across the casino on the other side. So we thought it was odd. Anyway, we went about a business and then we came back later that night, as we normally do to the Sedona Tower, got in the elevators like normal and of course getting on, it was normal. You know, we had the four banks of elevators on both sides. That was normal. And so we got on and went upstairs. And then for the rest of the trip it was all the same. We would come down again and of course the door would open like we would expect. You know, we would see the four banks of elevators on the other side and we'd go down the hallway and get out to the casino. So I don't know what that was. I mean, call it a glitch in the matrix or whatever. It was just kind of an odd thing, I guess you could say. This is one of those unusual things though, where I actually had somebody with me who could actually witness the same thing. So I knew I wasn't draining because we both looked at each other when this happened and just said, what the heck happened? So at least I had someone with me to kind of validate my experience. So anyway, as always, I love the podcast. Keep it up. Great work. Thanks.
B
Thanks, Ty. You know, they say that casinos are designed so that you can't tell what time it is when you're inside. It could be noon or it could be midnight. They don't want you to know, but I'm not sure all this is what they had in mind. It's wild stuff, Ty. And we thank you again for making the call. Now staying in California for this next one. Please welcome Marty to the platform.
D
Hi, Derek, it's Marty and I'm calling from Ventura County. I just heard the secret entry from Stephanie in Florida, but I really wanted to call you because this will be your third call about this. My cousin got in a really bad motorcycle accident back in 2020. He actually had died. And about a year after he had his accident, obviously he made it through. He came to my house to talk to me. So I asked him, I said, you know, in the minutes that you had died, you know, what happened? Do you remember anything? And he said that he went to the cemetery where his brother and his stepfather were buried. He says that all he remembers is that at the cemetery by the headstones were people just standing, like they were waiting. And he kept wondering, why are these people just standing there waiting? Because I remember of the first color, which was that little boy saying that, you know, he saw people standing or a lady standing. And that is exactly what my cousin saw. So it's like people are waiting. I don't know for what. I don't know. But I can confirm this is your third call about this. Eventually he said that he spoke to his brother and that his brother said, you don't belong here. You need to go. And I guess that's when he woke up. But yeah, he saw the same thing. People just standing, waiting. Thank you so much, Derek. Take care. Bye bye.
B
Thank you, Marty. Now, Marty mentioned one of my favorites to ever play on the program, Jeff's call from Ohio. He was driving past a cemetery with his young son in the back when the boy suddenly rang out. Look at all those people. There sure are a lot of grandmas. And it seems the young boy was able to see dozens, if not hundreds of people just standing around there in the cemetery, staring at the grass, as he put it. Now, that call gives me goosebumps to this day. And if you'd like to refresh your memory on it, visit season six episode 15 to give it a listen. And I have to agree that Marty's call here gives off the same vibe. So weird, whatever's going on there. Marty, we thank you again for sharing your entry. That's all well and Good. A quick question. How do you deal with ghosts in confined places? Please welcome Grayson to the program.
E
Hi, my name is Grayson. I'm in the Navy. And I'm in the submarine service. Just a warning, this story contains someone possibly committing suicide. So if you are sensitive to that, please get this story. So this was my first time out to sea. And on submarines, you have to study and qualify to get your fish. I was in a room just trying to get some peace and quiet while studying. I was sitting on the ground with my back leaning on some equipment, and I saw someone move out of the corner of my eye. He was tall, hefty, and bald. He was wearing a set of coveralls like we all wear and had the senior chief anchors as his collar device. But his back was to me. He kind of hugged the wall and leaned down on his side like he went to pick something up off the ground. But he was staring straight at the wall as if he was looking into the wall. He stopped moving and asked if he needed something, and he turned his head to look at me, and his face was blurred out as if he didn't want his face to be shown, like on a TV show. He was close enough to me that I could have reached out and touched his face. He then got up and walked away, and I stood up to look where he was walking away and there was no one there. It's kind of like in reality tv. Like a circle was blurring out his face. It was just really weird. There was no one in the room when I entered it. And there was nowhere he could have gone to hide from me in the time it took for me to stand up and look down the pathway he took to leave. The encounter lasted maybe 15 seconds, and I stared at his face for about 5 seconds. After all that, I immediately went into the adjacent room where I knew someone else was because I was immediately freaked out. I immediately told the guy in the adjacent room about what I saw. And he told me that he sees the same thing almost every night. He thinks it's an old ghost of a chief who had committed suicide in the room I had seen him in. I don't really know what it was or know that much about ghost haunting moving things rather than a house or something stationary. Anyways, thank you for listening and I love the show. Thanks, Derek.
B
Thank you, sir. You know, I'm not sure if I've ever been in a real functioning submarine, unless you count the one at Disneyland. I guess, but that's for good reason. It's because they scare the hell out of me. And I'm pretty leery about being on the water, so being in it in a tiny tube, no thank you. And to know a ghost of a dead chief is pacing the close quarters, you can forget about it. So to anyone willing to get inside one of those things, good on you. You're braver than I. But let's see how brave you actually are when one of your shipmates faces appears to melt off. Thank you again, Grayson, for that eerie entry. Now gang up. Next we venture to Oregon, where we meet with Dakota for our next entry.
F
Hey, Derek. This is Dakota from Oregon. This actually happened on December 2nd, which is my wife's birthday. We were at a hotel just for like a little mini vacation. So basically the layout of the hotel room, you walk in, the room is straight in front of you, like the bed and all that and the couch. And then to your left there's a bathroom and there's a little like counter space and stuff. So I was going in and she was coming out of the bathroom in the hotel room. And she walked straight out of the bathroom, turned left around the corner, heading into the main room. And as she did that, we both said what to each other? Like we had said something to each other. And then immediately I said, did you hear that? And my wife said, yeah. And we both were like, I didn't say anything. The thing I'm referring to is a whisper. It was really loud. Like it sounded like somebody was in the room with us, whispering. But it was one of those things where you could not locate it. Like it sounded like it could have been right in front of me, but it also sounded like it could have been a little further away. Like neither one of us could make out what it said, but it just kind of sounded like, like something like that. It just sounded like a voice whispering something really quickly. But it was just really creepy and it did not sound like her and it did not sound like me. So that's why we were both so freaked out. And yes, there was a TV on, but it was really quiet. And it was at the other end of the hotel room. And for me, I could not even hear the TV from where I was. And we actually both wrote it off and just said, oh, it was just the tv. And I think the reason we said that is just because we both definitely believe in ghosts. We've both seen and heard things like just too many times. And it was one of the scarier things that has happened to me in a long time. And this could be completely unrelated. But it was about not even an hour later. We were sitting on the couch in the hotel room and we had some stuff on the desk that they had against the wall in there. I had set down one of my wife's makeup, concealer, bottle thing, and I had it in a baggie and I'd set it down on the desk and it just fell off by itself. Like completely fell off. It's totally possible that it was maybe not balanced, but I don't see why it would have been fine until the time it fell because it had been sitting there for over 20 minutes at that point. So basically, just the combination of the whisper, what we heard along with that was enough to freak us both out. But anyway, thanks for letting me call this in and I look forward to listening to more episodes. Have a good one, man.
B
Thanks, Dakota. You know, my advice here is to research the hotel. Are there stories of hauntings? Are there reports from that very room? Are there tales of disembodied voices that will at least let you know if you're alone in your experience, Dakota, maybe give you a bit of peace of mind. Thank you again for making the phone call, Folks. That brings us to tonight's final entry. And for this one, we're headed on up to Wisconsin. Please put your hands together for jb.
C
Hey, Derek, my name's jb. I'm calling from Wisconsin. Now probably around eight, I had one experience with a ghost in my bedroom that really stood out. And I haven't had many ghosts in my life since. Now, just to set the scene, my bed in particular was up against the corner of the wall, so you didn't have much space where someone could come in and around that bed. It was a twin size bed. I remember at some point in the evening of this particular evening waking up with my eyes still closed and feeling what was the impression of feet walking right foot, left foot down from the top of my bed to the foot of my bed, down alongside my body. Each footprint was distinct and you could feel the impression of it as it went down in the mattress. This particular spirit decided it wanted to walk over me, apparently, and make itself known. At which point when it had reached the foot of my bed, I remember looking down towards it and there was a man in a full on sort of Native American, Mesoamerican, I think, really kind of Mayan or Aztecan headdress. And for a young child, I think this would be the moment where you sort of Panic, maybe run out of the room and scream. And for whatever reason, I had none of those feelings. I had no impression of negativity. I had no impression of danger. And in fact, I remember just sort of sitting there being like, hmm, hey, dude, not cool. And then just sort of rolling over and going right back to bed. That being said, this story has really stuck with me for 30 some years since. And recently, I've unlocked my psychic abilities and spent some time really connecting with my past and my past ancestors. And it's interesting to find out that this wasn't actually a ghost haunting my room. It wasn't ghost haunting the neighborhood, but in fact, one of my ancestors coming forward, presenting themselves and sort of just checking in on me at that time in my life. So that was my fun and interesting ghost story. Thank you very much and have a lovely evening. Goodbye.
B
Thanks, J.B. you know, this isn't too dissimilar from Joanna's call from earlier in the program. Contact from an entity. Well, lying and bad. And it's not too far off from an experience I had myself as a kid. Now, I've already told this tale a lot, so I'll just give you the bullet points, but I was visiting my grandparents in Jacksonville, Florida, when I was maybe 12. And when I would walk past their open guest room, I would see my peripheral vision. A Native American man wearing a feathered headdress doing some sort of dance, silhouetted by the window. When I'd look inside the room, the shape and the movement would instantly disappear. Now, seeing a Native American ghost in Jacksonville sort of lines up. There's plenty of history there. But JB Mentioned that the man he saw appeared to be of Mesoamerican origin. That would mean people like the Aztec and the Maya. At first glance, that detail might be enough to cancel this story out. How or why would a ghost of a man that lived thousands of miles away be in that location? And that's when a memory popped into my head. A memory about a legend. A Wisconsin legend. The legend of the Rock Lake pyramids.

Now that clip from the History Channel program America Unearthed, and for full context on why they believe the Aztec may have once lived in Wisconsin, you'll have to watch the entire episode, which you can do for free by following the show notes. But here is my point, jb maybe you did see a ghost. Maybe you did see a ghost of a person of Aztec descent, and maybe it all fits together conveniently. It's an awesome story, and as a witness of something similar, I appreciate you taking the time time to share again. That's gonna do it for this main portion, but you'll keep listening if you know what's good for you. right, it's secret story time and this week's effort is like most weeks and that it's a little bit weird. So please welcome April out of Missouri.
D
Hi Derek, My name is April White and I live in Lancaster, Missouri. And I was listening to season 12 episode 17 where the guy would fall asleep and hear sounds of war and his story was fascinating. But something struck me whenever you were talking about what you used to hear the series of sounds of beeping when you would lay down to sleep and you get up to try and find the source of it and could never find it. Same thing happened to me, summer of 2020 is when it started and used to annoy me like I couldn't fall asleep and I'm trying to find the source just like you couldn't find it. And it used to drive me so crazy. I actually had my husband lay on my pillow to see if he could hear it because I thought maybe I'm hearing electrical sound because there is an outlet right by my side of the bed. He could hear nothing. This went on for a period of several months. And it was not just, you know, at my house alone. I would go and stay at my mother in law's house and I would hear it upon waking, hear it upon sleeping. And it is a strange sound like a series of beeping. And I got goosebumps just even telling you this, but it would almost to me sound like Morse code. And so I tried on several nights to, you know, really listen hard and see if I could understand anything as weird as that sounds. And this went on for a period of several months. And just after that went away, completely went away. And it used to annoy me to begin with. Then it started to scare me. And then when it stopped, oddly enough, I felt sad that it was gone. And I've heard of no one ever experiencing this. I don't know what it was. Hasn't happened to me since. And literally got goosebumps when I was listening at work and hearing you say that you had had the same thing happen to you. Anyways, love the show, love the podcast, love listening to everyone's stories and keep it spooky. Thanks, Bye.
B
Thank you, April. You know, the older I get, the more I start to notice that I'm hearing strange things. That might not be a good sign, but I get it, April. I'm currently chasing down a droning, humming sound of my own. A sound that apparently only I can hear. I think I have it narrowed down. However, I'm starting to suspect the radon exhaust fan under our house is making some weird vibration sounds. At least I hope that's what it is. And I hope that you find the source of your strange Morse code esque experience, April. If you do, be sure to let us know what it was. But in the meantime, thank you again for making the call. Now gang, this is the portion of the program where we go beyond the after show where we rattle off an additional 25 to 30 minutes of calls just for you, the Monster Squad. E
Hey Derek, I wanted to share what I believe is a guardian angel story. I think someone is looking out for my daughter and I do believe it's a person. So I was thinking back on these events and we've actually had 11 separate incidents of weird things happening. But I'm just going to share four of those that are a little more tangible. So I'll start with the first one. I work nights and at the time of this, you know, our daughter was pretty young, maybe around 1, and I got home early one night around 11pm and as soon as I walked in the door I could hear my daughter crying upstairs because she was still waking up sometimes and just wanted to be comforted. So I went up the stairs and on my way up the stairs, you know, her room is within hearing distance of the stairs. So from her room I heard shh. And she was still crying, but I was like, oh, okay, my wife's already in there comforting her. I finished walking up the stairs and then I heard the shower running. So I lean into our bedroom and I see the door closed, the light on, the shower running. So I'm like, oh, my wife's in the shower. I guess she's not in there. And so I went in and comforted my daughter, got her back to sleep and I don't know why, but I didn't really give it much of a thought. For some reason I didn't think to check the monitor recording, you know, her camera in her room to see if I could hear that shushing. It was like a very comforting sound.
