I mean, I don't think you would consider that a formal day, but, like, our. We would take lunch breaks, and they were kind of like little mini dates inside of the food court in Target.

Oh, that was our first date.

Those are kind of like little dates because, like, I would, like, purposely, like, plan my breaks around. We'd have, like, little dates.

But then our first real date was at a Casa Manana Mexican restaurant in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Or for my little sister's birthday with. With my parents and her boyfriend. Is it her boyfriend, too? Yeah.

Yeah, our first. That was our first date, guys. I went to his family's birthday to celebrate his sisters that had just met that day, as it was a surprise. So then what was our real first date where it was just me and you? Do you remember? Because I don't.

Depends on when you're upset and to who.

And take a bath, maybe I was sitting soaking their tub when I'm upset. It's usually your answer for nearly everything. You're upset, you're sore, you're stressed, you're. You're just chill and you're tough.

When did you first meet your spouse's family? On our first date. That's the next question. Then the next one says, what's the one Thing your spouse makes that you love? Yeah, babe, what do I make that you love?

I mean, that, like the chicken and rice and gravy.

Yeah. On a scale from one, one thing.

What's one thing that I make that you.

There's a lot of things. Because you cook better than I do, you don't necessarily make the type of food that I love. Like, you would never make pasta except Marry Me Chicken, but I can't have one. Something in Marry Me Chicken makes my stomach hurt, but I don't know what it is, but I love it. I like your gumbo, and I mean, your steak's always good. I like that chicken that you make with some seasoning on it.

It depends on what the organization is.

It's not always the same person. It's usually like either Corley or Priscilla or maybe one of your sisters. I wouldn't say it's necessarily always one person. Maybe Cassie.

I would say if I were to say the last. Maybe just say this month. So far, it's probably been Mandy and Corlee.

Yeah, I usually don't talk on the phone. Like, I don't talk to man on the phone, but usually. But he calls a lot, but then calls me.

And so, like, I'll talk to him. Like, I probably, like out of any friend that I have that I actually talk to, like, without text or whatever, it's usually Ben.

Say ball. Who? Oh, when did you know you were in love with your spouse? Oh, good one. Yeah, babe, tell me when you fell in love with Me just going to go to 45 from here. When did you know you were in love with me?

When. When watching you babysit like a stalker through the window. Now we were going babysit together, like, or I would come over while you were babysitting or initially. And I would come over and help you. And then I just saw, like, how, how good you were with, like other kids and how fun I was. Just how I could tell, like, really early on that you had like a gift with children. And then they were like.

Because I was watching six at a time.

[C]

Yeah. And I don't know, like, I just, I, I. That was like a really good quality and someone that. Which definitely grew my fondness for you, like, a lot deeper because, like, obviously I know that I knew that I wanted to, you know, get married, have a family. And I don't know, I feel like it's very rare nowadays for like, not all kid. Not all kids are like college students or whatever. Like, really, like, drawn and like, want to be around kids. They're kind of a little bit more self absorbed. And you weren't like that at all.

Isn't it funny that. That those moments are like the same moments of like, when we both fell in love with each other?

Yeah. It's almost like. It's almost like we're. It's like, without saying should be taken weird, but it's almost like we were playing house. Like, it almost like gave you an idea of what it would be like if we had kids.

Well, I wasn't thinking that at the moment.

I mean, most people get married a lot later in life nowadays, and, like.

We have six daughters. Like, can you imagine, like, right out of high school being like, I want to get married?

I mean, in my life, I mean, I can see it, but, like, you had parents at home and stuff, and it's like, I can't imagine just, like, letting my kid. My world was different. I was already out on my own, you know? Oh, man. But I do think it is very interesting that I didn't know. I mean, I know now, but, like, I didn't know at the time when I was falling in love with you, from those kind of, like, visual things, that that was the same for you, you know? So I think that was a beautiful kind of, like, story. Like, the story of us.

Yeah. And then, like, these next couple questions, it all makes sense of, like, you. Who kissed you for who kissed first? Like, you said, I love you first because you're like, I love this girl. Duh. Where? This is for you. Where does your spouse buy most of his or her clothing? Nowhere. Because she doesn't shop anymore. Because she doesn't have a boutique anymore. What would you say I shop If I buy clothes, where would it be from? Mostly I don't even know the answer to that question.

I like, the only thing that's, like, walking in and looking at handbags for forever. I just go stand out in the hallway. Wait.

All right, my question is, where's the first place you vacation together? Oh, gosh.

New Orleans.

New Orleans. Was it New Orleans trip?

Which is a horrible trip, that trip?

I don't know. It's got shot.

I think we. I think we did talk about that one time.

We did talk about. I think we did talk about that on the podcast where we got.

Where we first got into New Orleans. I mean, this was, like, before we were dating. This was, like, before, like, GPS and all that. Like, where I had a flip phone. You just didn't have, like, GPS on your phone like you do on your iPhone right now. And so, like, I think we had printed directions. And so, like, we pulled in, like.

We had, like, MapQuest printed.

[C]

Yeah, we, like, stopped to ask for directions because something didn't make sense. And we were, like, in a rough part of New Orleans. And I got out, and I walked into this gas station, and the guy that worked in there was, like. I swear the glass that he was behind was this thick, which I don't.

[B]

Know why that didn't, like, alarm us.

[C]

And. And he immediately looks. He's like, ringing somebody up. And I walk through the door, and he looks at me and points at Me. He's like, you get out. Just get in your car and drive that way. He's like, you shouldn't be here. Yes, sir. Young and naive.

Yeah.

[C]

I mean, when you grow up in, like, a smaller town and you just bust up in New Orleans in, like, one of the roughest areas in New Orleans, apparently that's where we were at.

It's probably where Theo Vaughan grew up at. Okay, this one's for you. What's the thing your spouse has done that surprised you? What's one thing your spouse has done that surprised you? I know there's plenty that's for you. For you. What's one thing your spouse has done that surprised you?

[C]

I mean, I could say. I could say one thing, but I don't think you want to talk about that on the podcast. What I would say, like, taking on, like, writing these books just completely on your own and just, like, flying blind. I mean, that surprised me. Like, you literally just, like, completely took that on your own and, like. I mean, reached out and, like, found, like, illustrators and doing all this work and stuff, and, like, kind of working on that late at night while I was already in bed, and, like, like, all this kind of stuff, like, you just go right in and, like, you were determined and just did. It surprised me that you just went after it that, like. And you weren't, I mean, obviously, completely flying blind.

What was the other thing you wanted to say? You going to keep it secret?

[C]

It was sex related. Okay, well, okay. I'm just going to leave it at that.

Next. Next question is, what's one thing that irritates you about your spouse? It says, be nice when he opens up mail. What do you do when you open up a package or you open up mail? You just. You do, like this. You're like, oh, look. Oh, cool. Oh. Oh, my God. Cool. And then you walk away. Like, just throw it away. Put the box in the trash. All right, next one. What's the. Adam, what's the best thing about being married? It says to each other, but I don't know why I would have to say to each other, because who else are you married to?

I would say, like, having someone a lot of times that kind of knows what you're thinking or how you feel, even though, like, you don't necessarily articulate it. Someone that just, like, knows you better than anyone else and, you know, having someone that you're kind of just doing life together and it's got really dark. What was the question?

[B]

It's the best. It's the best thing about being married to each other?

[C]

Having just someone that completely, like, kind of fully, like, knows you and understands you and those can give you, like, insight and about your own life, but then that you can also have sex with.

[B]

These questions are so stupid. It's like, how does it go from that question to what's your spouse's favorite ice cream flavor? So your favorite ice cream flavor Sometimes you like just vanilla or you like coffee ice cream?

[C]

I would say if we go somewhere to get ice cream, I usually get.

[B]

Like a coffee or coffee.

[C]

Nine times out of 10, I get like coffee, coffee flavored ice cream. Asia can't pass up coffee ice cream.

[B]

Right. That's gross.

[C]

Not to me.

[B]

What was your spouse's very first job? What was my first job? Buzz?

[C]

Babysitting. Yeah.

[B]

If you're at a restaurant, what drink would your spouse order?

[C]

Chicken. Oh, wait, that's for me. That's for you.

First off, a drink is not chicken drink. It says drink.

Oh, drink.

You would order a water. But if you were going to get a drink, you drink.

There's two that come to mind. They're like my two go tos.

It would be a beer.

Well, it depends on where you're at, though. It's kind of hard.

I'm thinking like a nice restaurant.

Oh, you're gonna get a dirty martini with blue cheese, olives and then a nice red wine.

Right.

What's the other one besides the red wine? Oh, old fashioned.

[C]

Yeah.

Yeah. So cocktails, not just like. Yeah, okay, what would be mine?

[C]

Like a, like a white wine? Like a sauvignon blanc or like a margarita type. Some variation of a margarita.

You know, like ranch water or. I like gin martinis. Yeah, I like martinis because I like. I like gin martinis and stuff because I like the cups and I really want the cut more than I want the tree. The glass. I think that was all these questions on here.

And so, yeah, so we have to do this, even though I think it's crazy about doing this, but.

Oh, he's. Adam is such a perfectionist. He's like, the lighting, the sound. Look, it got dark all of a sudden. That cloud where it gets all worried.

About the light constantly changing.

It's so fun.

It's okay to light, actually. And then you have, like. And then you have, like, road noise. So I have to, like, run everything through an additional filter.
