+@Onepalaton.Com this past week, Danielle went to Orthopedic Doctor just to get a recommendation. A close family friend of ours who owns orthopedic practice here, just to get his recommendation of like, what she should do, she went and had X rays.
Danielle Busby
I mean, there was really no point in doing MRIs.
Adam Busby
Didn't look good.
Danielle Busby
Whatever their words. This looks horrible.
Adam Busby
Yeah. Are we gonna talk about halftime?
Danielle Busby
Yeah.
Adam Busby
Show and all the drama about super bowl halftime. Okay, well, I'll. I'll give my take.
Danielle Busby
There was two half.
Adam Busby
There was two halftime shows.
Danielle Busby
So the super bowl halftime and then the all American halftime. Did you pay attention to any of the commercials or were you just playing VR golf most of the time? First daughter came, changed.
Adam Busby
They started making babies.
Danielle Busby
You might want to watch where that part come up. And five more.
Adam Busby
Trying to make six daughters again.
Danielle Busby
After April, that song is out because we have no more 14 and 10 year olds. That's the crazy thing about blazing. Be 15 in the quid derby. I love it.
Adam Busby
They're actually not expensive. How much is as I thought they would be?
Danielle Busby
Do not buy that.
Adam Busby
This week in the cart.
This is more than reality podcast where we dive into all things faith, family and marriage and share that there is so much more than the reality that you see on the surface. Welcome to More than Reality with Adam and Danielle Busby.
Hello.
Danielle Busby
Welcome to More than Reality podcast. This is episode 70.
Adam Busby
It is.
Danielle Busby
Boom.
Adam Busby
You got it. Because we emphasized so much last week about episode 69.
Danielle Busby
So yes, this is February, man. February. This year is February has decided to do like all the things. I mean, you've got the Olympics going on, the Winter Olympics. You've got super bowl just happen. Valentine's Day is happening this week also. We decided that me and Lindsey Vonn wanted to have some similarities and that I would go have some knee surgery like she did, even though she broke her leg.
Adam Busby
But second time around, like, she's superhuman.
Danielle Busby
So am I.
Adam Busby
Like she had.
Danielle Busby
I'm sorry, I'm super mom. Not super.
Adam Busby
I mean, competing in the Olympics. I mean, literally, she just had knee surgery.
Danielle Busby
I know.
Adam Busby
And then she's.
Danielle Busby
I Mean, I feel like I would have done the same thing.
Adam Busby
She's gonna go. I mean, I don't know. This could potentially be her last year anyway.
Danielle Busby
Yeah.
Adam Busby
Because, like, at the rate that technology and athletes are progressing and stuff, it's like you don't know if you're going to be around for the next. Next Winter Olympics. And so, like, this is your last shot. You always have to think about, like, going into this one, like, this is the last time I'm going to be able to do this.
Danielle Busby
Yeah. I just can't, like, mentally think about, like, coming out of a surgery and then going right back out, like, pretty much, you know, like, she's. She's amazing, but that's. Right.
Adam Busby
I mean, those kind of people, you have. You have, like, the top doctors in the world, like, handling your.
Danielle Busby
Yeah.
Adam Busby
Your knee issues or whatever. You're like, well, if I jack it up, they'll just fix it again. So I guess just go for it.
Danielle Busby
Yeah. I mean, I feel like.
Adam Busby
And she did. It was super unfortunate just to see that crash.
Danielle Busby
Yeah. I feel like I personally have been competing in the, like, life Olympics these last, like, two years.
Adam Busby
The mom Olympics.
Danielle Busby
Yeah, the mom Olympics, where. Don't know what sport I've been training for, but apparently I've won. But now I'm injured because I'm always gonna win.
Adam Busby
Yeah. So we had this past week, we went. Danielle went to orthopedic doctor just to get a recommendation, a close family friend of ours who owns orthopedic practice here. And just to get his recommendation of, like, what she should do, she went and had X rays.
Danielle Busby
And I mean, there was really no point in doing MRIs look good, whatever their words. This looks horrible. I. Yeah, your knee is horrible. And I think. And it is, and I know it is because I feel it non stop 247 all the time. And I think one thing that's surprising is that, I mean, a lot of it is osteoarthritis in my knee. And it's just wild. But I think because back then whenever I tore my meniscus, had that surgery, and then I've lost. I just lost so much cartilage in my knees from carrying, like, the weight and the hormones and stuff with the quintuplet pregnancy. And so I just. That's actually like one of the things that you could do is lose a lot of cartilage. And so I lost some in my knees, like, a lot of it.
Adam Busby
I mean, you have so many different factors playing against you. Just with.
Danielle Busby
And then when I Had to have that surgery. I honestly feel it never really properly healed because the fact that, I mean, quints were babies.
Adam Busby
You couldn't stop.
Danielle Busby
I couldn't. I couldn't not do the things that. I mean, I, like, tried to and had help and all these things, but it still didn't let the knee heal properly. Even when it felt like it was better, it still never healed properly. But, yeah, I'm just like, rubbing. What is that, femur and tibia?
Adam Busby
Yeah, something like that.
Danielle Busby
Yeah, yeah, something like that. They're just rubbing bone to bone. Bone to bone. And it has caused miserable pain, but it's also causing.
Adam Busby
Because it's like, what, the inside of your knee.
Danielle Busby
Yeah.
Adam Busby
And so that's like, the cartilage on the outside is fine. The cartilage on the inside is literally bone to bone, which causes misalignment.
Danielle Busby
Yeah.
Adam Busby
Like through your whole body.
Danielle Busby
Yeah.
Adam Busby
Like up to up through your spine. It's causing you to favor the other leg, which is giving you problems in your other knee.
Danielle Busby
Yeah. I had them look at that knee, too, because I'm like, this one's starting to bother me, but I think.
Adam Busby
Which. Thank God that it's never.
Danielle Busby
It never has. It's never bothered me, but I think because I'm so off with alignment, it literally, if you're looking at the video here, it's like if you put your hands together and your middle fingers longer and it touches, and then you just make your. Your pointer finger touch. Like, that's how it's so off. I'm. I'm lopsided, basically. And so it has. It has totally jacked with my back, which I've been having back problems, my hips. I mean, it all the way. Probably. It probably has a lot to do, even with all my neck issues, too. And so, yeah, I think it's gonna.
Adam Busby
Affect everything whenever you have, like, alignment issues and. But also, like, every time you get up out of a chair or off the couch or out of bed or out of the car, like, you're gonna put most of your weight on your other leg, which is causing, you know, more fatigue in your other knee and stuff like that. And so.
Danielle Busby
So that one's just. That one looks fine.
Adam Busby
Yeah. Luckily he was like, your other knee looks great. It's just. It's getting overworked.
Danielle Busby
Yeah, it's getting overworked and want to try to refrain from tearing anything in that side.
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
So don't know when their surgery is going to happen, because I don't.
Adam Busby
There's, like, no break in the Schedule.
Danielle Busby
I just think of all the things, but it's like I'm. I mean it's. With it being your. The bone rubbing and it deteriorating, it's not just like movement pain. It's. It's just constant like arthritis pain that and you know, it's constantly inflamed, it's constantly swollen. Nothing makes it feel better. And in for the last six, eight years, I've tried all the interal things that you should do before trying to have a knee replacement. And I just know. I just knew, like it's so bad and it has much constant pain is I like, I need a knee replacement. So that's what we are journeying down. We have some plans for spring break.
Adam Busby
So I think it's not just spring break. Like I was, I was going back and forth with a camera company that's wanting to sponsor some videos coming up. And they're like, hey, what do you have like on the books for? Like, we're wanting to do like a family vlog to, you know, to highlight this camera and the different functions of what it can do. Like, what's your schedule look like coming up? Like, what's some dates that we can, you know, plan this video? And it's. I'm like, I'm going through the schedule and it's just like, okay, next month and then the next month we have this. And then the next month we're here, and then the next month we're here. Like, hey, we got lots of options. But thinking like in the back of my mind, I'm also thinking about okay to do Danielle's surgery. Like, when would we even do that so that you have enough time to recover so that you can go do those things. And I'm not seeing a gap in the schedule to like.
Danielle Busby
And there's never going to be. And I can't. And I was like, dude, I just, I can't keep living miserable pain in all the time.
Adam Busby
So like, it's almost like there's no break until like after the summer again.
Danielle Busby
Which by that time this fall schedule will be full filled up. But I think sometimes.
Adam Busby
So it's like, well, if you're looking this far out, do you just go ahead and get a steroid injection just to like, try to. Because that's. That's the problem too. That's one thing that the doctor said is like, if you get a steroid injection, then that delays when you can have your surgery, it's going to push you out another three to four months.
Danielle Busby
Yeah.
Adam Busby
So it's like you're trying to weigh all the options, look at the schedule, trying to figure out what the best time is. And it's like nothing really works. Nothing's really ideal.
Danielle Busby
Yeah.
Adam Busby
So, yeah.
Danielle Busby
No. So anyway, that's exciting news.
Adam Busby
Not exciting.
Danielle Busby
Let's talk about. Let's talk about the Super Bowl. We kind of have to, right? As America turns 250 years old this year, it's been a lot of conversation about American culture. And it really got me thinking about the people who helped build this country long before anyone was watching.
Adam Busby
Not just the ones in history books, but the ones who woke up before the sun season after season. No applause, no spotlight.
Danielle Busby
American Ranchers.
Adam Busby
And that's exactly the legacy behind Good Ranchers.
Danielle Busby
Good Ranchers is the only meat company that fully dedicated to America at every step. Every cut of meat they sell comes from local American food farms and ranchers. Not imported, not outsourced.
Adam Busby
From the pasture to the packaging to the final seal in every box. It all happens right here in the United States.
Danielle Busby
Even their customer service team is in house and based in America.
Adam Busby
Right here in Friendswood, actually.
Danielle Busby
Yeah.
Adam Busby
And I love that. It's not just talk. It's how they actually do business.
Danielle Busby
We're Good Rancher subscribers ourselves. And one of my favorite things is how flexible Bor is. Life gets busy, we travel, our schedules change, all of it. And I can pause, delay, or move or order anytime.
Adam Busby
It's simple, it's flexible, and it actually works with real life.
Danielle Busby
And when you subscribe, you can save up to 500 a year on 100% American meat.
Adam Busby
Plus, when you use our code, Busbee, you'll get an additional 25 off your order.
Danielle Busby
That's Busby for. For 25 off on top of the savings you'll get for just subscribing.
Adam Busby
So if you want to support American Ranchers and a company that's honoring America's past, present and Future, head to goodranchers.com goodranchers.com American meat delivered. Thank you Good Ranchers, for sponsoring this episode. Yeah, the big controversy of the week.
Danielle Busby
Well, one, I felt like it was a horrible game and it was sit down and watch. Watch the actual football game. But I was like, wow, this game sucks.
Adam Busby
Naturally, we're from Houston and so, like, obviously we wanted the Texans to be in it and it just wasn't. Their year didn't work out. But you know, when it comes to Patriots and Seahawks, like, we don't really follow either team and so have zero buy in to any team. And so it's like I mean, obviously we're going to get together and watch the game, but, you know, so have.
Danielle Busby
Lots of snacks and lots of great food. That's.
Adam Busby
I was just hoping. I was just hoping for a good game and it wasn't a good game.
Danielle Busby
Yeah, it wasn't a good game. Which.
Adam Busby
It kind of had like a little glimpse. It may turn into a good game. And then right at the end, it was just like, oh, they fumble as like a force fumble or whatever. And then the Seahawks scored that last time and it was like, okay, that's. That's it. There's no chance.
Danielle Busby
Yeah. Did you. Did you pay attention to any of the commercials or were you just playing VR golf most of the time?
Adam Busby
So we had a. We went over to a friend's house right next door. Ashley and Nick's house. Ashley also works for. She's in partnership.
Danielle Busby
Not Ashley, Nick.
Adam Busby
At Good Rancher. Yeah, it's our other friends, Ashley and Nick. And so Ashley's. Ashley works for Good Ranchers as well. So we had a lot of Good Rancher people there. And it was right across the street from our house. And I've been talking because me and Ben and Nick also, like, we play golf. And. And so I've been playing. Not that much, but like whenever I'm just like at the house or whatever, I have like that meta quest 3. And then I got the adapter where like the little. The little hand thing goes into actual, like real weighted, like, golf club. It's like a half a club, but it's like the real grip and everything.
Danielle Busby
When Adam gets into something, he gets into it.
Adam Busby
So. Yeah. Because you can't really. It's like playing a golf game with just this little controller. It just doesn't make sense. But if you actually have a club that it's clicked into, like, it feels more real. And if you're going to do VR that it's supposed to feel like a real world, like, might as well go all in. And so I've been telling Ben about it.
Danielle Busby
The golf club. The club is like maybe like two feet long. So it's not like a full on. Like you're swinging through the. Swinging through the house. Because that wouldn't work well. But he brought that over and they were actually right here. Yeah.
Adam Busby
So it's like a real golf club if you're watching on YouTube. So you got the real grip. It's. It's got a weight right here. So it's weighted. And then you just put it down and you can swing like a real golf Club.
Danielle Busby
And let's talk about how you.
Adam Busby
It makes it feel a lot more realistic, for sure, and a lot more fun. And the game's, like, super realistic. So, like, you know, if you have a slice, if you're turning the club over, like, the ball reacts so you can actually practice your swing on it.
Danielle Busby
So this is what I hear every once in a while, like, oh, Adam must be playing VR. He's. Oh, no. Ah, dang it.
Adam Busby
Again, like, because I'm not great at golf, like, I used to. Whenever I was in oil and gas, I used to play. I mean, probably two. At least two times a week, sometimes three times a week, because I would take customers out or we'd have tournaments or whatever the other companies would put on there. And so I was always playing. And then post Quint, clearly, golf became, like, way lower on the priority list. And so I go play maybe twice a year, if that. And so this past the last few months, I'm like, look, I want to. Like, that's something that I used to love. And I used to go out outdoors and just kind of be like, you know, it's just. It does something for you, you know, just being outdoors in nature and, you know, just doing something with fun that's fun and, like, with friends and stuff. And so I've been wanting to. I've been wanting to focus on that. And, like, okay, I'm gonna go, like, starting this year, like, I want to go play golf more. And. And so it just got me, like, playing this little VR thing, like, just at home.
Danielle Busby
Kind of, like, don't let that take away from going outside to actually play.
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
Because it's good for you to actually go do that.
Adam Busby
But I've been telling Ben and Nick about it, and they're like, I want to. Yeah, I want to see it, like. And so naturally, they were both over there at the super bowl party. So I ran over to the house and grabbed it. And so we were playing, like, a little bit in the backyard just so I could show them. And it was funny. They were making fun of us because we're like, look like kids playing video games.
Danielle Busby
There are Adam's, like, watching his phone as they're, like, the other guys are, like, playing and shooting their shots and, like, all that. And I'm like, you look like a bunch of nerds.
Adam Busby
It is kind of nerdy, for sure.
Danielle Busby
But they're. They were into it. So whatever you men do, I just don't want to hear that you're going to play golf. And that's the golf you're going to.
Adam Busby
Play with your friend Ben was trying to sell because Ben wants to buy one now and he's like, look, Corly, we can like you, you, you complain because we go out and we play a game of golf and we're gone for five plus hours. But like, we can get this and we can play each other in the VR world and like, you can play a game within like an hour, hour and a half. So like, no walking in between. I'm literally making time here. Yeah, he's trying to sell it to her.
Danielle Busby
Yeah, it's true. Yeah.
Adam Busby
Not quite the same, but it's true.
Danielle Busby
So what else? What else? Super Bowl.
Adam Busby
Are we going to talk about halftime?
Danielle Busby
Yeah.
Adam Busby
Show and all the dramas about super bowl halftime. Okay, well, I'll give my take.
Danielle Busby
There was two half.
Adam Busby
There was two halftime shows, so the.
Danielle Busby
Super bowl halftime and then the all American halftime. So I feel like we should.
Adam Busby
Can we watch both?
Danielle Busby
We did watch.
Adam Busby
We turned both on just to like, see the contrast and see the difference.
Danielle Busby
Yeah.
Adam Busby
And. But I wasn't one of those people in a camp of like, we're boycotting the super bowl halftime show. And like, I don't know, like this.
Danielle Busby
Give your take on it.
Adam Busby
I'll give my hot take.
Danielle Busby
I don't know if I.
Adam Busby
You may not even agree.
Danielle Busby
Should allow you to or not.
Adam Busby
You may not even agree. But like, I don't know. Like, I, I try to look at it as much as I can from like a neutral perspective and, and even like politics and stuff this day. Like, like I feel like I'm not like, I mean, whether. Whether you're conservative, liberal. I think the, the outliers on both sides are freaking ridiculous. And there's definitely common ground. And we've talked about this before, there's common ground in the middle. Like, why do people have to like, throw a freaking tantrum about every freaking thing? And I feel like it's just like nowadays it's just nothing but people throwing freaking tantrums on either side. And, and it's like, you know, you.
Danielle Busby
Have about to make them write an essay.
Adam Busby
You have like the conservative people, like, oh, we're taking our ball and we're going home and like, we're gonna have our own thing and that. And then you have like the people on the other side. It's like, oh, this is going to be the greatest ever and blah, blah, blah, and like, like, why can't we just like, enjoy it? And it's just. Yeah, it may not be your cup of tea. Like it may not be. And that's what like, everybody's up in arms about like. Like I've never. What's his name?
Danielle Busby
Bad Bunny.
Adam Busby
Bad Bunny. I've never, I mean, I've never really been a fan of Bad Bunny because he sings in Spanish and I don't understand like what he sings. And so like, I don't want to listen to something that I don't know what the words are. So like, it doesn't really make any sense for me to listen to it. But if that's your cup of tea, I don't care. And. And it's just something different. I know that like, I look at it from the perspective of like the, in the NFL, like over the past few years has been trying to bring other countries being multicultural. You know, they've been having football games in South America and, and Europe and all this stuff. And they're trying to like bring, you know, make this more of like a world sport. Like soccer is, which it's, you know, soccer is not that popular in the US as it is in other countries. You know, other countries are like, this is the real football. This is soccer. And, and so like the NFL is just trying to be. Have been more multi multicultural. And I'm looking at it at. From that point of view. And then it's just like, you know, you have people on the far right that are just like, like, he's not American. Actually, Puerto Rico is an American territory. And so I think that's a little silly also, you know. Yes, he's Puerto Rican, which is an American territory. So like, why are you so up in arms about it? For one thing, American territory, it's not always been American territory, but Puerto Rico, like, you don't. You can travel to Puerto Rico without a passport.
Danielle Busby
Yeah, but I think that's too part of the drama with everybody.
Adam Busby
But I mean, just to. I feel like everybody's just throwing tantrums about everything and people just want to be divided and polarized and there's common ground. Guys, come on.
Danielle Busby
If I'm honest, I think that, you know, one thing that is hard to watch the super bowl do is the halftime show because there's always usually someone, whoever's who, whoever is the rising pop star currently. Right?
Adam Busby
Yeah. And he is the most popular artist.
Danielle Busby
In the world, so of course he's more likely to be selected to do it.
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
But what's hard to watch the halftime show is that you never know what you're going to see when your kids are watching it.
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
Because there's so much provocativeness. And.
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
Dirty Dancing, I mean, they're just constantly.
Adam Busby
Trying to, like, move that bar further and, like, push the envelope for sure.
Danielle Busby
And so it's, it's. It gets a little trashy, if I'm going to say. Say that. But I do think that the whole concept of.
Adam Busby
I mean, you also have to think.
Danielle Busby
Of, like, and bringing world together. I get it. But I also. I think that's beautiful. And yes, God bless all the nations in all the countries. That was beautiful. That part.
Adam Busby
Yeah. But Latin culture in general, like, the dancing and stuff in Latin culture is amazing. It's very provocative and, like, you move your hips a lot and like. And so.
Danielle Busby
I know it's a cultural thing. Yeah. And. And all culturals are different, but there is. There is something that said about. I was listening to. It was Orno Tor, like, talking about how he. When he was on the View, and it was like a clip of him talking about. Because they're like, well, you're an immigrant.
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
And he talked about, well, when you come to someone's country, you come to someone's house, you have to respect their rules and. Yeah, all these things. And so I was like, wow, you said that so well, because it's not that America doesn't want. This is my point of view, who's not into all the politics and stuff, but if you're going to go visit some other country, like if, if we're going to, you know, Europe and Paris and all the, like, their, Their attire, their. Their customs, if I'm going to go to some. Whatever the culture and country is, whenever you're visiting other countries or even different homes of people that you know or don't know, or being invited for the first time to go, you know, to someone's house for a dinner or whatever, I do believe that you're not going to go in with war against you, like, if you've been invited or you're coming as a guest, like, it's proper to be respectful of what you're stepping into.
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
And that doesn't just go for America. That goes for all the countries. And I think that there's just so much the, the media. The media only shows so much to keep us divided.
Adam Busby
Well, yeah, I mean, the media wants you to constantly be outraged. And we've talked about this before. The media just wants you to be outraged. So you keep watching.
Danielle Busby
Yeah, exactly. But not all things. Not all people that are coming into America are bad or doing bad things. Yeah. But what gets highlighted, of course, is the Is the war of that, you know, because that makes.
Adam Busby
Yeah, it's like a. It's like a major topic right now for sure.
Danielle Busby
It. It is a major topic, and I don't want to get into all that, but.
Adam Busby
Oh, I have some hot takes there.
Danielle Busby
Oh, Lord. I don't know if this podcast is going to keep me interested.
Adam Busby
Burn this podcast down or I could blow it up.
Danielle Busby
I think. I think the All American. To keep it on. The half dump show. The All American halftime show. Great concept. I think a lot of it, if I'm honest, could have been done a lot better.
Adam Busby
Yeah, I wasn't that impressed with it. The TP USA one.
Danielle Busby
Yeah. And I think the. But I was. I was kind of like, it's just.
Adam Busby
How do you.
Danielle Busby
Weird.
Adam Busby
Because how do you duplicate. How do you replicate a halftime show?
Danielle Busby
I could have done lots of other.
Adam Busby
Ways, you know, because it's not in, like, the same type of environment. That's what makes a halftime show. A halftime show is like being at the stadium and the. The scenery and the surround. And then. So whenever you just cut to, okay, we're going to have our own halftime show. And then it just looks like this small little concert, intimate concert. It just loses that feel of what. What it is. And it was very.
Danielle Busby
Go to a high school football.
Adam Busby
It was like very disconnected and disjointed and it wasn't live. And that's what kind of makes a halftime show what it is, because it is live. And so they're doing all these transition.
Danielle Busby
All these years to plan for that either. So.
Adam Busby
Yeah, I mean, they put it together super fast.
Danielle Busby
Yeah. But I was kind of upset because, like. Like I as a. I mean, I follow a lot of other Christian artists and stuff. And like, there was so much talk that I would hear, like Brandon Lake and like Forest Frank, like everyone talking about, like, changing that. And I don't know if it was just to get them to try to change the actual super bowl one or I thought maybe they would be into making something else. I don't know. I don't know.
Adam Busby
Yeah, I mean, it's just. Somebody just brought it up. Expected somebody brought it up to, I think Forest Frank or.
Danielle Busby
But Brandon, like, talked about it a lot.
Adam Busby
I know. And then. But they were just like, oh, yeah, that seems like a cool idea. And then like, TP USA just ran with it. And then, I don't know, in a sense, made it. Try to make it political in a way. But yeah, to capitalize on the current, like, client climate right now. But what about the commercials, just having. Having an objective person have an objective opinion about both of them. Like, watching the real halftime show, that was like, during the game, the bad bunny one, like, I had no clue what he was saying.
Danielle Busby
Yeah, for the most part.
Adam Busby
For the most part, it was fun to watch and it was entertaining. And it was kind of cool to see all the Easter eggs and stuff and the different celebrities that were, like, making cameos, like, throughout. And you're like, oh, there's such and such. Oh. And like, there was a few things during it that, like, okay, that was unnecessary. Like, I mean, like the girls grinding on other dudes crotches and stuff. Right. Right on the camera making weird faces, and then the two dudes grinding on each other in the truck door and see that part. And I mean, so, like, that kind of stuff was like, okay, that was unnecessary. That's. But other than that, like, the halftime show as a whole, like, like, I didn't mind it. It was. It was entertaining. Like, the production of it was really cool.
Danielle Busby
Always going to be entertaining.
Adam Busby
Yeah, it was funny to see, like, after the fact, you know, the people that were actually there and like, their video and their perspective of it. Because the production is so much geared towards, like, the camera into the. The broadcast that it was really hard to watch for the people that were there because he was like, you know, you had all the people that were dressed up like bushes and, like, running around. And then a lot of the show, he was like, dancing and in the bushes and going through the bushes and. And so, like, the people there are like, where the heck is he? Like, yeah, I don't know where he's at. They're, like, just staring at the screen because that's where the camera is, and so that's what you can see. And so it, like, the way that they did it, it was more geared towards the broadcast than it was for the people that are there that paid 4,000 to $20,000 for a seat.
Danielle Busby
But, yeah, so is what it is. And, you know, I do think that the whole controversy of, you know, all being in Spanish, I. I don't have a problem with people speaking Spanish in America. I have a. I just did not like that that was televised all in Spanish. Yeah, I didn't. I don't. I don't. I didn't like that. I didn't like it.
Adam Busby
I mean, I did like that there was so much controversy and like, they were trying to make it so polarizing. But then at the end, like, you know, he came running out with, like, all the different flags and stuff like that. And like, okay, thank God. Like, they actually put an American flag in the front. And. And he said, God bless America. Which I was like, okay, great. That's like, yeah, good job. Yeah.
Danielle Busby
And I do want to give credit to TP USA for trying to do something, you know, cleaner in, you know, family oriented or whatnot. Like I said, like, they didn't have a lot of time to.
Adam Busby
And having another option isn't bad. Yeah, it's fine. It's just right now the current climate in the media and politics is so polarized, so that it's.
Danielle Busby
And it's just.
Adam Busby
It's. Everything's just become so political.
Danielle Busby
Are we gonna. Are we gonna talk about Kid Rock? Because I thought that was. I thought it was hilarious and amazing all in the same thing. But here's what I want to say to a lot of people is that when people are like, oh, my gosh, Kid Rock, America, TP usa. It's like, hold up, guys. Like, everybody has a past. Yeah, everybody has a past.
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
And I know, like, how do I know that Kid Rock became a Christian was all his. Whenever it was out there on Joe Rogan and him talking about all that. And then I just started to look into it. But, like, all the glory, like, he's. He's found Jesus, and it doesn't mean that he can't take away all the things that he's done and said and sang about before he was that he has been born again and he is a new Christian and he's a new man.
Adam Busby
You know, we all have the past and.
Danielle Busby
But you want to bring up. You want to bring up me 20 years ago. You want to bring up Adam 20 years ago. Like, you wouldn't agree with a lot of things, you know, so it's like, I don't like how people are using that.
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
And saying he wasn't worthy of that moment to do it.
Adam Busby
That I was a little concerned because it's like, what is he gonna sing? Yeah, what? Okay, what is Kid Rock gonna sing? He hasn't really come out with.
Danielle Busby
It's gonna say, my name is Kid Rock.
Adam Busby
It's like new. And so I'm just thinking of, like, all kids rock's old songs. I'm like, this is going on tbn, the Trinity Broadcast Network. This is like an ultra conservative Christian network. Like, and your headlines, Kid Rock. Like, what the heck is he gonna sing? So, yeah, it was funny. Like, he started with ball. With the ball.
Danielle Busby
No, he started.
Adam Busby
He couldn't go, my name Is he couldn't sing most of that song.
Danielle Busby
He didn't start with. My name is Kid Rock. You would have lost a lot of. Yeah, me.
Adam Busby
You gotta sing that song for sure. I mean, that's Kid Rock. Whenever you think of Kid Rock, you think of that song. But then like the song that he redid.
Danielle Busby
Yeah, that was beautiful.
Adam Busby
I mean that was, that was a good song.
Danielle Busby
Like I just want to say like to, to both aspects into both things just in life is like can we take the positive from something? Can we take the positive out of it and go towards that and not make a fight about what was not done perfectly? Could things been done better? Absolutely. And you know, maybe that is where, maybe that's what the we're, we're going to work on towards the next year. Maybe, maybe super bowl is going to be taking their own feedback and go better and maybe TPSU is going to want to do another USA TPUs. What did I say? TPU.
Adam Busby
TPSU. I think, I don't know.
Danielle Busby
Sorry. Doing an all American halftime show again. And I can't wait till next year to see what they can come up with because they will have a lot more time to prep for that. And you know, so anyway, there was a lot happening this last week and those are a lot of like political and like worldly things that it just.
Adam Busby
Started a precedent that like, okay, now like someone can do it if they, if the Super Bowl, I mean next year. I mean you look at artists like how the, you know, the Christian artists have kind of come into the mainstream. I mean look how much jelly rolls played a part in that and like in collaborating with different people in the Christian music space. And so it's kind of elevated the Christian music space. And so I mean, what happens next year if, I mean this is a far fetched but like they have like a Christian artist for the super bowl now. Are you gonna have like a whole nother organization be like, oh, we're, we're boycotting this, we're gonna have our own thing and like we're gonna do some super vulgar and they're gonna take it to the extreme. Yeah, you know they will. They're gonna take it to the extreme and it's probably gonna have to be broadcast on some streaming platform because it's going to be too vulgar for tv. It's just like we started this precedent. It's just like, oh, if you got, we got this, now we have to have this and like we're gonna take it all the way to the other Extreme.
Danielle Busby
Oh, no.
Adam Busby
And here we are. This is the world we live in.
Danielle Busby
And I'm just stuck in the middle, wishing I could get up and dance with an orthopedic knee.
Adam Busby
Let me get you one of those. Have you seen those?
Danielle Busby
No.
Adam Busby
Those.
Danielle Busby
Whatever it is.
Adam Busby
Those little exoskeleton things that, like, help you walk. It's like you put it around your waist and it's got, like, the things and it connects to your leg and, like, you can run faster and you can do all this stuff. You can, like, lift heavy weights because it's like the little robot hydraulic arms are doing all the work.
Danielle Busby
So you want me to be a robot?
Adam Busby
Well, helps you get around. We should find one of those companies.
Danielle Busby
That does not speak Valentine's Day.
Adam Busby
Let's do a collab.
Danielle Busby
Does not speak romance to me. Speaking of romance, going into Valentine's Day.
Adam Busby
Daniel's gonna be hiking in the mountains with a busted knee.
Danielle Busby
I mean, that is my. Like, I have got to get all this fixed before summer. That's all I want. It's got to get done before summer. And I. I'm trying.
Adam Busby
You're back in the same boat of, did you, like, last time, did you give yourself adequate time to rehab and recover?
Danielle Busby
And if you don't have enough time.
Adam Busby
If you do the surgery now, does that necessarily give you enough time? And it probably doesn't.
Danielle Busby
It's going to.
Adam Busby
It's our dilemma.
Danielle Busby
Yeah. So robot legs for Valentine's Day for madam. Instead of actually what is. What is. Let's just talk about Valentine's Day.
Adam Busby
Robot legs. I wonder how much those are.
Danielle Busby
He's so seriously about getting me robot legs.
Adam Busby
I'm like, can you even just buy those?
Danielle Busby
What are they even called? So people who. Anyway, just. Yeah, nothing says Hyper Shell.
Adam Busby
AI powered exoskeleton for hiking, travel and daily use.
Danielle Busby
Let me see. I am not walking around.
Adam Busby
It looks like a knee brace with just, like, a thing that goes around. Look at this lady running up the mountain.
Danielle Busby
It's freaking attached to her. Could you imagine me?
Adam Busby
I'd be kicking your next gen exoscope 40 more leg strength, 30% less physical exertion.
Danielle Busby
All that is is attached to her waist in her, like, above her knees shop now.
Adam Busby
They're actually not expensive.
Danielle Busby
How much is.
Adam Busby
I thought they would be Hyper Shell. I mean, there's like, this is like the. Probably the cheaper one. There's a Hyper Shell. Go Hyper Shell Pro. Hyper Shell Carbon.
Danielle Busby
Do not buy that this week. Do not buy that this week in the cart. Okay.
Adam Busby
The most Expensive one. How much you think it is?
Danielle Busby
800.
Adam Busby
The most expensive one.
Danielle Busby
I don't know. Just throwing a number out there.
Adam Busby
The most expensive one is, like, 1500. The just like the regular, like, going is 8.99. It's actually not that bad for what it does, you know. Okay.
Danielle Busby
I will get more mad if you buy that for me, because I won't. I had to wear braces on my legs as a kid. You think I want to wear braces? You think I want to wear braces as an adult? I already got braces on my teeth.
Adam Busby
I was running. And to go from. Did you actually ever go from New York to la?
Danielle Busby
Did you actually ever watch Forrest Gump?
Adam Busby
I think a bunch of battery packs for you, though.
Danielle Busby
Was that a movie you watched as a what? For Scum.
Adam Busby
For Scum, Yeah. I seen Forrest Gump late last year. I think I watched that at my, like, with my mom and dad. Okay to be. Yeah, there's a few really awkward parts in there.
Danielle Busby
I'm just saying. I'm going to get mad at you if you actually buy that for me.
Adam Busby
I'm gonna reach out to him for a collab. Give me a discount code. So if I can get a discount code, I'm gonna.
Danielle Busby
Stop it. He doesn't hear me.
Adam Busby
Hi, for Shell.
Danielle Busby
If you're watching, I'm gonna be mad at you, and we're gonna fight about this. If you buy this for me, I don't care if you get it for free. You're not giving that to me because I'm just going to be mad at you for that. That's like telling.
Adam Busby
It's like telling me just to walk around with it.
Danielle Busby
That's like telling a woman, you know, it's like, you don't do it.
Adam Busby
You have a bum knee.
Danielle Busby
Oh, jeez. He doesn't hear me, guys. You women out there, I know exactly. You know exactly how I feel. We're going to continue to talk about Valentine's Day, though, because I'm actually just.
Adam Busby
Really surprised how affordable it is.
Danielle Busby
I don't find that affordable.
Adam Busby
I mean, I thought it would be a lot more expensive. And the technology that's in it, it's kind of cool. Hi, Purchelle.
Danielle Busby
We're talking about. We're going to transition and talk about Valentine's Day, not Danielle being Forrest Gump. So let's talk. What is your. What. What even is Valentine's Day? Do you even know what Valentine's Day.
Adam Busby
Fake holiday that's made up just to sell chocolates and roses?
Danielle Busby
Okay. I looked it up. I'm gonna find what Valentine's Day actually is.
Adam Busby
I'm like that. I'm an anti Valentine's Day person.
Danielle Busby
Valentine's Day. I'm trying to find the meaning and purpose of Valentine's Day. It started as a Christian feast day honoring one or more early Christians martyred named Valentine.
Adam Busby
Okay, so why has it become what it is?
Danielle Busby
Historians think that date became linked to romantic love through medieval traditions and poetry. Especially Jeffrey Schausser. Whatever. Work on February 4th. Associating. I wrote poetry mates over time.
Adam Busby
I'll play this in the background of this song.
Danielle Busby
Acceleration of romance, affection and love. Cards, flowers. Stop. Do you still have that on a button? You're getting off track.
Adam Busby
You worked in the photo. Left now. I was in electronics. That's poetry, baby.
Danielle Busby
Okay, I don't want to listen to this.
Adam Busby
I just want to hear what Danielle wants.
Danielle Busby
Sing is you. She can run like forest if I give her the body brace with her hyper show. Okay, turn that off. So it basically was started after a Christian guy named Valentine and then it turned into the Greeks. What did I say? You lost my train of thought.
Adam Busby
I know. Because you're so. You're so horned up after listening to that song.
Danielle Busby
Dude, no one says horned up. I'm about to. I'm about to be done. Over time it is involved into. Yes. It's been more fantasized about the flowers and cards. And what is the number one thing I tell you on Valentine's Day? One, don't give me anything because you should celebrate me every day. What do I get mad at besides hyper shell now?
Adam Busby
Because I buy like don't buy those super expensive roses on Valentine's Day.
Danielle Busby
Like if you buy me flowers on.
Adam Busby
Valentine's Day because they're so overpriced to.
Danielle Busby
Be so pissed off.
Adam Busby
They're so much more expensive.
Danielle Busby
I want a flower bouquet from Heb. Like, I just want like a pre made beautiful arrangement of live flowers all the time. Not saying you have to get that all the time, but like that's what I don't. I don't want a flower bouquet on Valentine's Day. Like to me it's cheesy and it's a made to thing to do.
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
So the girls. You have little girls.
Adam Busby
Yeah, it's about them. And they want to feel special on Valentine's Day because.
Danielle Busby
Yeah. And I don't mind showing them like. Like I don't do any. Like honestly, I don't do anything for them on Valentine's Day. I leave it all To Adam, it's like. It's a. It's the dad thing. Like, appreciate. And it's literally. I'm like, you don't go get no hyper show. You don't go get them some bicycles.
Adam Busby
The whole family's in hypershells for that. Thanks for me for imbalance.
Danielle Busby
Okay. It's just a. It's just a simple. Here's some chocolate or here's something that I thought about you. What the girls keep telling me, mom, can you tell dad to get us neato Neos? I'm like, no. I'm like, you can use your tour money on that. It's not about giving you a freaking toy. Like, another reason to give kids something else.
Adam Busby
Everything's become so.
Danielle Busby
It's like, you know what? You know what's loving? Write something. Make a card. Make a card. You love somebody. Use your own words and write a card. There you go. That's it right there.
Adam Busby
But I'm a hyper show.
Danielle Busby
If you think. But I think about. I think about it. It's like, okay, if you were in this. I'm thinking about, like, if. Blake. Like, when we were dating, like, that's special.
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
Like, it's special, right? Like, now it's like, We've been together 20 years. Valentine's Day is not special.
Adam Busby
Yeah, you don't need a. Like, we've been together for 20 plus years. Like, you're. I don't want my spouse to feel obligated to. Okay, it's February 14th. You better come home with something. Like, it's just silly.
Danielle Busby
So I feel like. I feel like it's more of a pressure than it is about the relationship. It's like. It's like Valentine's Day. Like, oh, you must. Well, there's a couple days that you must. It's called birthday. And, like, when you get into marriage and your anniversary. Anniversary and your birthdays, I feel like, are those big milestones? We're going to celebrate Mother's Day because that's a blessing day. We're going to celebrate Christmas, obviously. That's a big milestone in the Christian world. And Easter, I feel like. But not all about, like. I mean, the Easter Bunny. When it comes to Eastern stuff. We've always made a joke with the kids, and it's never been like, is. There's a real Easter bunny, like, coming.
Adam Busby
Notice how she didn't mention Father's Day.
Danielle Busby
I said Mother's Day. Father's Day.
Adam Busby
You didn't say Father's Day. Roll back the tape.
Danielle Busby
I didn't say It. But I was. It just didn't come out my mouth. But it's the same thing. Like, Mother's Day, Father's Day. Like, celebrating that you have children is a big blessing, and I feel like that is a day that needs to be celebrated. But I feel like Valentine's Day is just another one of those throw in there. Let's, like, make. It's a. It's a. It's a time to make money and stuff, which I guess in that, you know, world of business, you got to.
Adam Busby
Put something in the season. Allow after Christmas.
Danielle Busby
Yeah, I guess that. I guess that it's marketing and stuff. You need something in the middle of there.
Adam Busby
So.
Danielle Busby
So. So what? So. So what are your rules on Valentine's Day? Like, what do you do on Valentine's Day? Do y' all have, like, you know, what do you. What do you expect? What do you want? And. And what are your rules? What I miss out of our Valentine's Day was for a couple years in a row, us and my sisters and their husbands, we did dinner together. Like, I like that. I like making it more like, hey, we don't need this for, like, ourselves, but, like, let's make it a priority to celebrate this. Blah, blah, a different way, you know?
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
I mean, what. What do you want out Valentine's Day? Lingerie and flowers.
Adam Busby
I always thought of lingerie was so unnecessary. I've never been, like, a lingerie person.
Danielle Busby
So. Birthday suits. Like, what is. What is your. What's your expectation?
Adam Busby
Birthday. Oh, birthday sex.
Danielle Busby
What is your. What is. Let's. Let's hear your point of what do you expect and what do you desire on Valentine's Day? Besides, Waiting was tough, yet God never left us. Back hurts. I don't know.
Adam Busby
I mean, I. I think. I think, yeah, it should be more, like, personal and more of, like. Just like an intimate time for, like, a husband and wife to connect, but, like, not a time for, like, the consumeristic part of it.
Danielle Busby
In English, please.
Adam Busby
Like, I think for Valentine's Day, like, okay, it's Valentine's Day. It's sexy time. But, like, don't feel obligated to go spend $400 on chocolates and roses for just because. I mean, I think it's just kind of.
Danielle Busby
So is there something that you want out of Valentine's Day?
Adam Busby
Sexy time.
Danielle Busby
So why does it need to be on Valentine's Day? I didn't say that. Right. Why do you think Valentine's Day needs to be sexy time?
Adam Busby
Just because it's Valentine's Day.
Danielle Busby
See, but you're saying. But now you're saying, I think it's stupid to do all that, but I.
Adam Busby
But it can, like, be more, like, internal and intimate and, like, you know, it's Valentine's Day. It's like an excuse to, like, okay, if you haven't had intimacy with your spouse lately, it's like one of those excuses, like, oh, it's Valentine's Day. Like, let's get this going. Like, let's do this again. Get back into the. Back to the heart of. You might start making babies.
Danielle Busby
You might want to watch where that part comes up, comes up. And five more.
Adam Busby
Try to make six daughters again.
Danielle Busby
After April, that song is out because we have no more 14 and 10 year olds. That's crazy thing about. Blake's gonna be 15 and the quints are gonna be 11.
Adam Busby
This song over. This song will. It's like a. What's it? A time capsule for a moment in our life.
Danielle Busby
There you go. I hope you play it on Valentine's Day.
Adam Busby
I will. It's gonna be playing through. Through the speaker in the kitchen and on the Apple TV during sexy time.
Danielle Busby
That is not sexy time. There's nothing feeling sexy about this.
Adam Busby
I'm gonna put that. I'm gonna put this song to a screensaver of a fireplace crackling. Set the mood.
Danielle Busby
For me. Yeah, you got it.
Adam Busby
Get that. Them hyper legs.
Danielle Busby
That's hilarious.
Adam Busby
But they're called hyper legs.
Danielle Busby
Hyper something.
Adam Busby
Hyper shell.
Danielle Busby
Hyper shell.
Adam Busby
Get your hyper shell out.
Danielle Busby
Get your hyper shell out. Well, so, yeah, I mean, I think. I think it's a silly day. I think it's. It's. I just don't want to. I don't want to raise the girls thinking that they deserve, like. Like, they have to have a day that they feel loved like that. Like, because the whole purpose of, like, Valentine's and love, and I don't want them to think that, like, you have to celebrate Valentine's Day. It's a day to know that you're loved. Like, no, I want you to know that you're loved every day.
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
So, you know, that's why I'm like, I don't want to get you something like, it's your birthday.
Adam Busby
Yeah.
Danielle Busby
It's just a simple, like. Like, to me as a woman, I.
Adam Busby
Get me some hyper legs, and then I can just carry you everywhere.
Danielle Busby
Guys, you're not going to see me on the next podcast because Adam's going to be sitting here with a pair.
Adam Busby
Of hyper legs doing air squats. Pump it.
Danielle Busby
But I. If we talk about what do you do on Valentine's Day? Like, what do we do on Valentine's Day? Really? Nothing. I mean, I think what you typically do is, like, you will get each of the girls, like, a flower and some chocolate.
Adam Busby
Yeah. And like, a teddy bear or something like that.
Danielle Busby
Please don't get any teddy bears this year.
Adam Busby
No, I'll get them. Neatos.
Danielle Busby
Oh, geez. It's. Yeah, whatever. Whatever your heart desires to give to the those that you love. Yeah. That's all I'm gonna say.
Adam Busby
All right, this episode's going long.
Danielle Busby
Yep. So. Yes, exactly. Sacrificing my health and my career. Exactly. That's how much I love y'. All. Anyway, so a lot has happened already in the month of February with all the things that we've been talking about. And, you know, I hope that as Valentine's Day approaches, what, two days after this, that you don't need Valentine's Day to feel loved, that God fills that bubble for you. And not everybody, you know, does have children or have a significant other. And I want you to know that you are not any less loved than those that have that. So heart goes out to all of y' all that are feeling lonely and I'm pregnant. God can bring you comfort on the day that everyone is expressing love loudly and just know that it's for show and it's not probably deep desire. Heart love. So God is love, and that is where love comes from. Heart love. Like that. Heart love. Heart. Heart love. You can't do this way. I was trying to do it this way. Heart love. So thanks for listening to this, random. A lot to do with February podcast.
Adam Busby
All right, this is episode 70 of more than Reality podcast, and we'll see you in the next one. Maybe Danielle will be in the hyper show.
Danielle Busby
No, thanks. Peace out, guys.
Adam Busby
My bionic wife. Love you guys. It.
