So over the coming weeks and months, this space will change. We'll update it. We'll try to make it look like an actual studio rather than a garage. Yeah, but.

But we have this space. It's super exciting and I'm really glad that Adam has this space to get all of his stuff in a real studio.

Yeah. Yeah. I mean, this is like long time coming. This is like kind of a dream of mine to actually have a space to for one thing work in and do and just kind of be out of the craziness. Of the house to actually get stuff done, but also a place that we can actually, like, build a studio and not feel just super cramped in the same room where we can actually spread out and actually build something. Right. And so this is the space. Yeah. Background back there, behind you can see garage doors. If you're watching on YouTube, you can see garage doors back there. So we're going to be building a wall back there. You can't even see the ceiling fan, but there's a ceiling fan, like, up and behind me.

We're gonna, like, close off a part of this. So part of it will still be, like, garage, and then the rest of it will be all office, studio, all that stuff.

So, yeah.

So basically, Adam has the garage shop as his place, and then all the girls have the house pretty much.

I have my own. I just don't have a bathroom here.

one of them little RV potties, and just go park in the corner. Then Danielle be complaining. Complaining about that smell, but real excited.

So we are officially out of the rental house. We have closed, like, everything out of that chapter and into the new phase of Busby life, you know, new location. Every time I'm driving home, I literally already forget. Like, literally every day that I've had to drive here, I have forgotten. And I pass it up because I'm going to the. The rental place. But, yeah, I mean, we're slowly, slowly going through boxes. We got. So it's just been chaotic because we closed on the house, had movers that day, and we ended up using, like. So if you're local, actually, I think they're a chain, but, like, we use square cow movers. And they were amazing. Y'. All. These guys were. It was like the Chick Fil A. Workers of movers, like, so polite, use their manners. And they worked for, like, 14 hours straight. And, like, I was like, we have

a lot of stuff.

[Danielle Busby]

We do. And I was like, where? Why did we have. It didn't even feel like we had that much stuff in the rental.

[Adam Busby]

We have. We had three trucks and, like, seven guys moving, and we were still, like, 14 hours.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah. It was ridiculous.

[Adam Busby]

And we still have two storage units.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah. So there's a lot.

[Adam Busby]

I went and visited today just to get a couple random things out while I was getting a haircut in that side of town.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah, there's a lot of. So this is definitely, like, we love the property. We love the house. We love this space, garage space, studio and stuff. So there's so much goodness about it. But it's definitely like lots of projects and lots of like, DIYs and like, stuff like that. So it's not. It's not like your,

[Adam Busby]

oh, we built a house and it's good to go. Turn.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah. So it's gonna be a project house, which we've actually never had, ever.

[Adam Busby]

We've all. We've always wanted an older house to like that because older houses just have character. I mean, for the most part, they're built way better. And they're built. They were built better back, you know, in 80s. I mean, this house was built in the 80s, and so it's just. They're built different. Yes. You need to update a lot of things, but they're built different. And back then there wasn't. It wasn't like the age of like, the spec home where, like, nowadays you can't hardly just build your own house anymore. In a city like we're in, like, you have to go through. You have. So what typically happens now? And I'm sure you're already aware of this, but, you know, like, developers will develop a neighborhood, and then these home

builders will like 10 spec homes.

[Adam Busby]

And you pick one, there's like sometimes two, which has been every two or three, like home builders within this master plan community. And then you just go to one of those home builders and you find a building plan and you just build your house. And all the houses kind of look the same. Well, you know, in a house built in the 80s, it does. It wasn't really like that. You know, every house was custom made and people built to suit their needs. And so this house was definitely built to suit someone's need. Not ours, but someone's.

Yeah.

[Adam Busby]

And so we got a lot of update and a lot of just customizing.

[Danielle Busby]

Lots of closets. Like.

[Adam Busby]

Yeah.

[Danielle Busby]

We got our, like a big butler pantry back, which is like, huge for us. So there's just. I just feel. I feel very thankful and grateful that, like, we're here, but it's been a journey to get here. But, you know, we've been obedient, we've been faithful, and we've. We got the house we wanted.

Yeah.

[Danielle Busby]

So this last week, I mean, so today is whatever day. I don't even know.

Wednesday.

[Danielle Busby]

Wednesday. We're just really off since we moved last week, and then we sent the quints to Louisiana since we were moving, and I was going to Michigan for my heart of her live event out there. And so Blake and I left on Friday morning, and we got back on Monday two days ago.

[Adam Busby]

We dropped the quints off on Thursday. The day before you left, right?

[Danielle Busby]

No, we closed on Tuesday. I remember I ended up bringing them on.

[Adam Busby]

Oh, yeah, that's right.

[Danielle Busby]

That was the original plan.

[Adam Busby]

So the day before. The day before we closed, we sent the girls the quints off with my mom and dad.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah. So we all got home on Monday, and Adam was here all by himself over the weekend and stuff, which was weird.

[Adam Busby]

It was weird.

[Danielle Busby]

But it's funny because I'm like, what did you do today? And he's like, I put this up. I hung this. I did like, all the little, like, doodad things.

[Adam Busby]

You know, the tedious stuff. Yeah. Trying to just get the house ready for.

[Danielle Busby]

But before I left, I was like, Adam always complains about these beds, the triplet room beds. Love these little beds. They're, like, from Crate and Barrel, and they're just so cute. But they're Pottery Barn, I think. No, Crane Barrel.

[Adam Busby]

Yeah.

[Danielle Busby]

They are not fun to take apart and put together.

[Adam Busby]

Yeah. Whoever designed the way you put the bolts in is an. So, like, I want to hit him in the face.

[Danielle Busby]

Well, so before I left, I was like, you know what? I'm. I'm capable. I can do those things, too. And I love tools. I don't have a reason to really use them often because I have Adam, but I love doing stuff like that, too. And so I, like, put the bed downstairs together for Hazel and Olivia. And then, like, the next day, I was out, and I was actually going to get my nails done. And Priscilla called me, who's my best friend, and she's like, hey, I got some time. Do you want me to come over and help? I can do whatever. And I was like, absolutely. Let's go put beds together. And so Adam wouldn't have to worry about it. And it took about two hours with those three twin beds together. We also were talking and all these things, but we got that. We. We got it done. And I felt so accomplished because I knew you would hate to have to put all. All of those beds together, because I

took them apart and put them to get. Took them apart and put them together at the last house. And, like, every time. Yeah, if you're gonna hear me cuss, it's when I'm putting those beds together

so, like, you can put it together.

[Adam Busby]

You only have. You only have a space about this big, like, maybe an inch and a quarter to, like, maneuver the bolt and a little wrench in there. And you can only turn it about a quarter turn at a time. And then you got to readjust and to turn it a quarter time, it takes forever. And then the day we were moving, the Mills came over to check the house out and stuff and Crystal just then Priscilla ended up coming back out of town. I didn't know she was in and she came over and it was just such a, it was like, it just felt so old fashioned. Like people were like coming by and dropping the muffins off or like saying hello and bringing cookies and like, and bread like flour. When we moved in the rental house, that never happened.

The only time it ever happened to us was when we moved into the Mold house and the Jackie and Kel across the street brought cookies that yeah, brought us cookies one day. Other than that, like I'm like, yes, this is the community of people that like this is how this is how it should be when you move on a street.

Welcome you to the neighborhood or welcome to the street.

And it was just, it was just so heartwarming, you know, and just so welcoming. And the Priscilla was there and Crystal was there and so they just started like opening boxes and going through things and they're like, are two my two like OCD cleaners. And so like I could not have asked for anybody to better clean a spot and then load things into it. And that's what they did. So they got through, like, a lot of the pantry in the kitchen over two days. And they're like, we just want to help out and make it since you're leaving, like, so you can, like, walk through here and stuff. But.

Which was a lifesaver for me because, like, she left, kids were already gone. And then I was here for the weekend and, like, we just messing. I. I knew that if it was up to me and I was putting all that stuff up, it wasn't going

[Danielle Busby]

to go in the right spot. And you weren't going to.

[Adam Busby]

Exactly. I would. I would get yelled at whenever I got home because nothing was in the right spot.

[Danielle Busby]

Well, and you probably wouldn't have wiped that. Wiped all the drawers or they're going

[Adam Busby]

straight in the cabinets.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah, exactly. You're not allowed to do that. So thank goodness I cleaned your. I did your bathroom drawers too, because your bathroom stuff. Because I had to wipe all that out. You wouldn't have done that either. No, men are different. But yeah, so that really helped. And then I had the beds made, so I was able, actually able to change Blake and I's flight from 1 o' clock in the afternoon to like the 10am or 9am or whatever it was, because I just felt good about, like, the beds are done, the kitchen, like, the living rooms, like, you can get in there and like, sit on the couch if he wanted to. But then, yeah, we left, Blake and I, first time. So we had four bags. Actually, this is beyond ridiculous, but I had four boxes that I was just going to, like, ship to Michigan, and I went to take them, and the lady wanted to quote me $4,000 to ship these four boxes. And they weren't even big boxes. They were like £20 each.

Well, granted, I told you well in advance, you need to hurry up and ship. Before we even moved, I was like, you need to ship these boxes. I know, because it's going to be expensive, but. And you waited till the two days before.

[Danielle Busby]

But still, $4,000, that's stupid.

[Adam Busby]

Because the town that you were having the event in is not a big town. And so it's like a. It's not like a hub. And so they have to travel so far to get that stuff there.

[Danielle Busby]

They get mail there all the time.

[Adam Busby]

Yeah, but not Amazon, not quickly.

[Danielle Busby]

So that was fun. So I was like, well, I guess these are just going to go in luggage and we're going to just bring them in the suitcases. And so we did. That was fine. But when we landed in Detroit, we had four priority bags and Minus one. Minus one. That went on a completely different track to Mexico. And it landed in Mexico.

[Adam Busby]

Well, good thing it wasn't the stuff for the event.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah.

[Adam Busby]

You know, like, at least it wasn't

[Danielle Busby]

my stuff because then I would have been really worked up. It was Blake.

[Adam Busby]

So it was Blake's bag.

[Danielle Busby]

And so, like, she had her makeup.

[Adam Busby]

Oh, she gets new things.

[Danielle Busby]

Curler with her.

She's a teenager that gets all new clothes.

Yeah.

Oh, darn.

Probably glad it got left.

So it actually landed in Mexico before we even landed in Detroit because the flight was shorter to Mexico than Detroit and it had to get on the flight. We hadn't even landed to even know our bag wasn't even going there. It had like a 35 minute window to be able to get on the flight to come back to the states. And by the time we landed, go get our bags, realize we're missing a bag, there's nobody to help, and then find somebody. Long story short, that bag, we weren't getting back till Sunday, and I was like, that's dumb. Like, I need.

Don't even try to send it to Michigan.

Don't even try. Just leave it in Houston. We'll get it on our way back home. It was fun.

It was just overcast and cloudy, but. And there was a breeze.

I don't know what the temperature was. Like, it wasn't the same as down here. I mean, it was probably, like, in the 80s, but it was.

No humidity, but it was fine.

Like, so the rain was 100% rain all day. And so it was overcast. It was like that annoying, like, drizzle rain, like, off and on, like, throughout the day. But when the event happened, I just kept saying, no, I'm believing the Lord sent me here. Like, he said, this is the place. We're having it. I'm trusting that it's not gonna rain. It's not going to rain. And so Riley and Rob, who was my best remaining who lives up in Michigan, she was one of the speakers at the event.

Rob's her husband. Riley is her son, who does security and stuff. And so he was like, security back in the background. And some of the wives got dropped off by their husbands. And so they were kind of all waiting where all the cars were parking. And so Riley, Rob were talking, and to some of them, and the guy, like, one of the husbands, like, pulls up the radar, and he's like, look at this complete rain cloud. Except right over where we were. It was just like a hole of openness and no rain. And I was like, it didn't rain the whole time. If anything, it was even better because it had such a breeze. And, you know, I'm, like, always sweating, so I had, like, a breeze coming from behind me. The one thing I failed to do was when we were there setting up was I was like, they're like. It gets dark around, like, 8. I mean, 9, 9:30. And I was like, the goal was to end at 9. Well, you know, that means 9:15. 9:20. And right about 9:15, I was almost done, but I still wanted to, like, close in prayer. And if people wanted prayer and then we want to, like, close out in worship and over prayer time and stuff. And so it just got dark yeah.

[Adam Busby]

Dark.

I couldn't.

[Danielle Busby]

I mean, Blake was like, I kept texting you and telling you to, like, open, like, touch your laptop so the screen shines on you. So the very end of it, it's just. I just. I told everybody, like, put their light on their phone or whatever during the worship, which was really pretty and stuff, but it just. It was so good, and it just encouraged me, myself just to, you know, obedience and, like, following that calling. It's not always easy, but I do know that I will have another one. And I'm thinking it's going to be, like, more east coast, but also been trying to figure out how to do more frequent, like, regular, like, once a month type things here in Houston. But try not to overdo myself because homeschool is starting in a couple weeks, and I need to get that on track before I plan something else.

[Adam Busby]

But. Yeah, because you've been full on harder hair mode and also house mode.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah.

[Adam Busby]

You haven't even been able to start thinking about homeschool recently. Yeah.

[Danielle Busby]

In the next. In the next two weeks, like, my goal is house organization and getting it ready because I have to make a plan for homeschool, and Blake starts going 18th and so. But homeschool, guess what? I don't have to start on the 18th if I don't want to. You're gonna hate homeschool schedule.

[Adam Busby]

Me and the girls care and.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah, I'm excited about it, though. I mean, I don't necessarily have a plan together yet, but that's okay. I'll. I'll get there. I mean, I know there's like, two aren't starting till September 1st, so that's fine.

There's like, three or four other families on this street that are homeschooling, so there's just a lot of homeschool families here. So.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah. Which is even better for us.

[Adam Busby]

Which is great for the kids because, like, you know, whenever they're all done with school, things play and.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah.

[Adam Busby]

So, yeah,

[Danielle Busby]

so, yeah, we got the house settling in and then, gosh, school's in two weeks. The first. So our first project. House project is going to be the garage and the studio. Are we still holding on with that?

[Adam Busby]

Yeah, it's got to be. I mean, we got to figure this room out. I've been doing, like, little by little, but then I had to go back to, like, and do some projects at work and. But I need to start. So to this house, the house was, like, super clean, well kept up. Like, the people were awesome with, like, just how. Because, you know, house in the 80s we've looked at a lot of houses and they're pretty rough, but this house like immaculate. Like they kept this house up so well. But this garage was actual garage. Like the. The man that lived here, he like restored old antique cars and antique motorcycles and stuff in this space. And this was the only place in the entire property that he was allowed to smoke his cigars. And so this room I've been. For the last week I've been running ozone generators and spraying stuff and. And wiping the walls down. And I'm. And now my next thing to do is I have this. It's like wall and like paint cleaner. I came across this video of this guy that preps houses before that like does rent houses and stuff. And so like houses that people smoke in. It's like the soot and stuff on the wall, it's like this solution that he wipes it down with. So I bought like two bottles of that. I'm gonna start wiping these walls down before and getting them ready to be able to like skim and paint and stuff like that. So hopefully it can eradicate, you know, this lingering cigar muskie.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah, I think yes to me it already won. It already does smell better.

[Adam Busby]

It's 100 times better. I mean before whenever we first started coming.

[Danielle Busby]

I can tell do with you like wiping the walls when different in here

[Adam Busby]

I would be about 6ft from the garage and you could. It hits you in the face. It was very strong. But now.

[Danielle Busby]

But love that this building's built because it's insulated. I mean it's a great size building. It's huge.

[Adam Busby]

Like it's cooler in here than it was ever in the last house. Like upstairs and that guest bedroom that we were filming their podcast.

[Danielle Busby]

Oh yeah, that room is always so hot.

[Adam Busby]

But this. So for one thing, this garage is very, very like over insulated. And then also has an overkill air conditioning unit for this garage. And so like it cools down super fast. It stays cool. It's awesome.

[Danielle Busby]

So what did it feel like whenever you were at home by yourself for like four days?

[Adam Busby]

Really weird because Ben kept calling me because obviously Corlee was with you and he had. But he had all their kids. My kids were. One was with you and the other ones were with Nana Papa. So I was just here you solo and I was like, yes. If it feels really weird to not have your family here, especially in a new home.

[Danielle Busby]

Especially right when we moved in.

[Adam Busby]

Right. Like right when we move in for one thing. Like the quints finally just Saw the house, like, two days ago. They just got back, but, you know, so. Just trying to figure out a new house, but just, like, being alone in the new house. The dogs were freaking freaked out because they're, like, in this new space. Dad's by himself, Mom's not here. We like her more and. But I guess we gotta hang out with you. I don't know what you did with all the other women, but. And so they were act. The dogs were acting so weird. Funny, like they would. They would follow me around everywhere I go. Anytime I would sit down, they were, like, right here up against me, just, like, staring at me, like, what are we doing here?

[Danielle Busby]

Where's all the women?

[Adam Busby]

What are we doing here?

[Danielle Busby]

There's all these women.

[Adam Busby]

What are weird smells? Weird. Sounds like you brought me to this new place. You kicked out all the women.

[Danielle Busby]

I threw away all of the rugs we had, too. So there's no rugs in that house. I need to buy rugs, and that's what I need to do first, is get a rug in the living room for sure. But it's like. Yeah, that's just funny. It's funny to think about. I don't think I would have liked being in if. If it was vice versa.

[Adam Busby]

But also, it was just the fact that, like, I had a lot of things to do. Yeah. And so, like, every day I had, like, little projects and stuff to do. So that came. That kept me busy. But it was at night, you know, at night, whenever I was finished with stuff, and I'm, like, tired and run down and, like, ready to just take a shower, and then there's just no one here. And it just felt so weird. And so a couple of nights, like, I went to, like, Ben's house and, like, hung out with him and his kids and for a little bit. But. Yeah, it was just. It was very strange.

[Danielle Busby]

You took out your electric skateboard. I was like, hadn't seen that thing in a while.

[Adam Busby]

Yeah. Somehow. And I found my other one at the storage unit and.

[Danielle Busby]

Oh, you brought that one over.

[Adam Busby]

It's. Yeah, it's right there. Charging. Because we're in the garage. It's right there. So I got that charged. So. Yeah. Because we can just like. I don't know. It's just different. Like, we live on. We. We don't live in a neighborhood anymore. It's like.

[Danielle Busby]

I mean, it still is a neighborhood. It's just a small, small one.

[Adam Busby]

It's just one street that's, like, dead end. And it's just, you know, it's just different. All the houses are older, all the trees are mature. You know, the yards are big. Pretty much every dang near every house on this road has their own swimming pool. And so it's just. Yeah, it's just different. It's super quiet.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah. Like the first. The Monday when everybody got home and, you know, all the kids on the street were excited to come see the quints and everything. And so literally they all were over all at one point. And I was like, wait, I have to take a picture of all of you. Because it's like, I don't know, 15 kids right there. And I was like, this is so. I was like my dream, my childhood dream come true. Like, grow up on the street with all these little kids your age. And yeah, they've. They had that in the. The rental house, kids coming in. But it wasn't the same because it's like, we knew we were only there temporary. But this, like, once we, like, got here and we've, like, closed the chapter with the rent house, it just was like. It's just like this sense of peace,

[Adam Busby]

of just like, this is ours.

[Danielle Busby]

This is ours. And I don't.

[Adam Busby]

Honestly, we can settle. We can.

[Danielle Busby]

I don't.

[Adam Busby]

We can make it ours. Because the rental house, we could never. You can never, like, customize or do anything because it's not yours. And so there was so much stuff. That's why we never really filmed any, but even in YouTube videos or anything in that other house, because it just. It wasn't our place. And so it just felt off to be able to even do stuff in there. And.

[Danielle Busby]

But even. Even if I look back at, like, our last house, our last League City house compared to this house, like, I don't know if I ever felt like that house was, like, homey. Like, I feel like homey in this house, maybe because it's old and stuff, but I don't know, this one just feels. It feels. It feels more forever than that house did. But also, it could just be seasonal life. And yeah, I'm granny at heart,

[Adam Busby]

but that's really it. We just want. We wanted to do this episode that was just like, you know, we had been talking about it for weeks and we had been, you know, and anticipating, you know, closing that chapter of our life.

[Danielle Busby]

And, like, do you feel good about. Good about the change?

[Adam Busby]

Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I feel I. I love the space and love the place and, like, meeting neighbors and having, you know, it's just different now and, you know, it's a. It's a Place that we can make ours again. And Yeah, I mean there are things about our last house that I really loved and but we can do that here and you know, it's so like I actually did a timer today from door to door, just going to the office, it's like two minutes. So I mean we're super close and I just, I, I, so I can like pop in, pop out, run home, do whatever. And I'm just like really close and it's just, everything just feels right here. Yeah. So just we have a lot of cleaning to do in here, a lot of projects, a lot of painting, a lot of furniture to buy, a lot of, you know, just stuff. It's just a lot to do.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah.

[Adam Busby]

To make it ours. Yeah. But it's a good, we got good bones here. It's got good bones.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah, it does, it does.

[Adam Busby]

Just the electrical in this house, because it's a house in the 80s, makes me scratch my head. I had to go buy all kind of electrical testers and all kind of stuff, try to backtrack circuit breakers and all that kind of stuff that I,

[Danielle Busby]

I'm out, I'm out of that. Don't know anything about that.

[Adam Busby]

I had to do a little wiring the other day just to make stuff work and just

[Danielle Busby]

so we get to

[Adam Busby]

be a man again.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah.

[Adam Busby]

Fix stuff, change stuff, figure stuff out.

[Danielle Busby]

Something else that will be very different is we have a John Deere lawnmower tractor thingy now. And Riley, Paige is so excited to mow the grass.

[Adam Busby]

I need a, I need to film that. Like teaching her how to cut the grass.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah.

[Adam Busby]

Because she wants to so bad.

[Danielle Busby]

She wants you so bad.

[Adam Busby]

I'm a little nervous.

[Danielle Busby]

It's not like we're going to like let them mow the grass every time, but it could get on that cycle, teach them all and like let them rotate. But I mean they can cut it but they're not going to like do all the trimming, weed eating and like all that stuff. But like just simply of like the fill in where you need to cut. Like if the guy comes cut and like the lawn guy comes and then like we're having people over. The grass grew really fast or rain. Like let's cut it.

Yeah. And even still, like if it's going to be a day where like I'll let her do it. I'll probably go do like the first two passes to where she doesn't have to get close to anything where she

can kind of just. Yeah.

[Adam Busby]

Just follow the lines.

[Danielle Busby]

Yeah.

It's like a race.

[Danielle Busby]

Really funny. I can't wait to see the lines do that. I mean, I actually think I could enjoy mowing the grass too. It might be a little therapeutic. Mandy says it's because she mows their. All their space, all their acres. She's like, I love it. I just put my headphones in.

Yeah.

Yeah. So we're just super excited. Just feels good to be here and, you know, been praying about what's. What was next for us, and we still don't know what's next, next, next, and what's, you know, happening down, like, schooling business wise, like, what's changing, what's coming. But we're here. We feel good here. We know this is where God wants us, and we are happy about it. So.
